For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine

Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

2 Timothy 4:2-4
King James Version (KJV)

Yesterday, I passed by a Baptist Church and saw its parking lot was so full that every single parking spot was occupied; it was so full that they parked the overflow cars on the grass surrounding the church.  As I witness the scene; I wondered why so many people were at this church on a Sunday Afternoon?
I was so impressed, that I decided to look up the church's website (Out of respect for the church, I will not mention the link).  Here are a few lines from their website:

  • Small groups are our primary method of helping people build the key relationships they need and desire, so let me encourage you to plug in to one of our Life Groups. These include Sunday School classes, Discipleship groups, and ministry and mission organizations.
  • Our corporate worship services are designed to be celebrative in atmosphere and life applicable in the messages.
  • Our men wear everything from jeans and boots to suits and ties. Our ladies will be in jeans to slacks to dresses to business suits. Our children and teenagers often express their natural personalities in their dress, and we're okay with that. We're first interested in you - and who you are in Christ. We don't encourage masks. You can bring your burdens and struggles with you - you'll find plenty of fellow strugglers, people just like you who have come to experience the life-changing power of Jesus Christ.
  • Our worship services are designed to be celebrative in atmosphere. Our worship will include many different element styles. Our worship choir sings periodicaly as well as different groups and solos.

Would this church parking lot be full if the Gospel were preached with a focus on the Three Angels Messages of Chapter 14 of Revelation?
I highly doubt it.

If the True 7th day Sabbath were preached from the pulpit?
No.

If the Once Saved, Always Saved philosophy was NOT taught by the pastors?
Doubt it!

My conclusion is that though there are many sincere Christians in this congregation, they are being attracted by an Everyone is Saved just join the Swinging Sunday Celebration rationale.  Many souls are being led astray unbeknownst to them; Blind leaders are leading the blind.

It's time to give the trumpet a certain sound.*  A clear thus Saith The Lord, not as the customs or traditions state.
