09:15 - JESUIT: MEG, THE WAY THE WORLD CONFERENCE IN ROME. FRIDAY 7 AUDIENCE BY POPE FRANCIS
Opens today in Rome the World Congress of the Eucharistic Youth Movement (Meg), the centenary of his birth. Until August 10th Rome will host 1,500 boys and girls from 38 countries around the world. Focus of the conference will be an audience with Pope Francis in Paul VI Hall at the Vatican, Friday, August 7. "Because my joy may be in you" is the theme of the bottom, and all the days will have the "joy" as the main theme: the 4 "the joy of starting together" with the feast of welcome by the Italian Meg; 5 "the joy of walking with Jesus" with the inaugural Mass in the Church of St. Ignatius; 6 "the joy of the community" with respect of local experiences and testimonies of prayer from Lebanon and Egypt; "The joy of being the people of God", on 7, with the audience by Pope Francis and the visit with a Mass at the catacombs of San Callisto. Still, the August 8 issue of the day is "the joy of friendship with Jesus", with testimonies of African Churches Mission and the comparison with the guys who work at the Centre Astalli; 9 Finally, the participation of the Angelus Pope Francis and a flash mob in piazza della Pilotta introduce the concluding Mass, celebrated at St. Ignatius from the superior general of the Society of Jesus, Father Adolfo Nicolás Pachón. The world conference will end with a big party of the people that will close the day dedicated to the "Joy of the mission."
