“For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?” I Cor. 14:8
New World Disorder
“Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.”
II Thessalonians 2:1-4
When people think of September 11th, the events of 2001 usually come to mind. Yet, another significant historical event occurred eleven years before the World Trade Center fell. On September 11, 1990, former President of the United States, George H.W. Bush, mentioned a “new world order” for the very first time. Speaking to a joint session of Congress, President Bush said, “We stand today at a unique and extraordinary moment. The crisis in the Persian Gulf, as grave as it is, also offers a rare opportunity to move toward a historic period of cooperation. Out of these troubled times, our fifth objective — a new world order — can emerge: a new era — freer from the threat of terror, stronger in the pursuit of justice, and more secure in the quest for peace. An era in which the nations of the world, East and West, North and South, can prosper and live in harmony.” (1) His speech came at a time when the world was changing in profound ways. The Berlin Wall had recently fallen, and the Soviet Union would soon collapse. Months later, President Bush again mentioned a “new world order” when he gave his State of the Union Address on January 21, 1991. (2) Nearly three and a half decades later, the promise of global peace and prosperity remains unrealized. Yet, the world again finds itself at a crossroads and on the cusp of another “new world order.”
What exactly is a “new world order” though? For some, it merely refers to the rebalancing of global powers wherein new countries emerge as leaders and others recede into the background. But what if that rebalancing of power ultimately results in a consolidation of power in the form of a global government? Would this global government be led by one man? The Holy Scriptures indicate that a day is coming when a powerful imposter would rise up purporting himself to be god. II Thessalonians 2:1-4 declares, “Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.” People often refer to this forthcoming “man of sin” as the Antichrist. However, I find it interesting that he is called the “son of perdition.” In John 17:12, Jesus Christ also referred to his betrayer, Judas Iscariot, as the “son of perdition.” This verse declares, “While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.” We also learn in John, chapter 13, that when Judas received the sop at the Last Supper, Satan entered into him. Thus, the man of sin is also called the son of perdition because Satan himself will dwell inside him. Although we do not yet know who this man of sin will be, the Scriptures tell us that he is revealed. Thus, when the time comes, God’s people will be guided by God’s Spirit and will not be deceived even as the rest of the world is. Nevertheless, every effort to establish a new world order indicates that we are growing closer and closer to that moment of revelation. Yet, when we consider the chaos of our time, it might be more accurate to say that a new world disorder is unfolding before our eyes.

Syria rebels met with bishops says nuncio
'They promised respect and reconciliation, now end sanctions'

The Vatican nuncio in Syria said Sunday that the Islamist rebels who have swept to power in Damascus ending Bashar al-Assad's brutal regime had met with local bishops pledging respect and reconciliation and this deserved to see an end to western sanctions on the country.
"The road is all uphill, those who promised that everyone will be respected, that a new Syria will be created," Cardinal Mario Zenari, apostolic nuncio to Damascus, told Vatican News.
"The rebels met with the bishops in Aleppo, assuring them that they will respect the various religious confessions and Christians, we hope that they will keep this promise and that we will move towards reconciliation and that Syria can also find a little prosperity.
"The hope is that the international community will also respond, perhaps by abolishing sanctions, because they are a burden that weighs heavily especially on the poor people.
I want to hope that the sanctions will be eliminated little by little".

French president Emmanuel Macron has claimed that he convinced Donald Trump to keep troops in Syria for the long term and limit Saturday’s joint strikes to chemical weapons facilities.
Syria: western allies launch diplomatic offensive in wake of strikes
Macron said in an interview on Sunday that restricting the missile strikes to specific targets was not necessarily Trump’s initial plan. “We also persuaded him that we needed to limit the strikes to chemical weapons [sites], after things got a little carried away over tweets,” he said.
The French president also said: “Ten days ago, President Trump was saying ‘the United States should withdraw from Syria’. We convinced him it was necessary to stay. We convinced him it was necessary to stay for the long term.”
While it is unusual for a French president to present himself as driving US policy on military matters in the Middle East, Macron and Trump have developed a friendly relationship over the past year. Macron invited Trump to Bastille day celebrations last year and will travel to Washington on a state visit this month.

Syria: Pope Francis Prays for Bombing Victims
‘Nothing can justify the use of such instruments of extermination against defenseless people and populations.’
APRIL 8, 2018

Pope Francis decried the bombing deaths in Syria, reported in the past 24 hours. According to news reports, as many as 40 civilians were killed.
His comments came after praying the Regina Caeli in St. Peter’s Square after Mass on April 8, 2018.
His comments:
Terrible news reaches us from Syria of bombings with tens of victims, many of whom are women and children. News of so many people stricken by the effects of chemical substances contained in the bombs. Let us pray for all the deceased, for the wounded, for the families that suffer.
There isn’t a good or bad war and nothing — nothing can justify the use of such instruments of extermination against defenseless people and populations. Let us pray that the political and military men responsible may choose another way, that of negotiation, the only one that can lead to a peace that’s not that of death and of destruction.[Original Text: Italian] [ZENIT’s translation by Virginia M. An Israeli aircraft reportedly launched a strike into Syria on Sunday that left one person dead, in what appeared to be the second cross-border attack in three days as tensions between the neighbors escalated over the weekend.
The Israeli attack was reported by the British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which said that the strike targeted a car traveling on a road between Damascus and Quneitra, a town in the Golan Heights near the border with Israel. An Israeli army spokesman declined to comment on the report.

Will Russia Start World War III? Syria Conflict Could Start Global Warfare,
BY SUMAN VARANDANI @SUMAN09 ON11/01/16 AT 1:50 AM
Putin Says US 'Hysteria' Over Russia Is An Election Ploy
Nearly half of Russians who took part in a recent opinion poll fear that escalating tensions between Russia and the West over the ongoing crisis in Syria could become a global military conflict. Moscow's intervention in the Syrian conflict has been criticized by the West, which believes Russian strikes are aimed at supporting its ally President Bashar Assad rather than targeting terrorist groups in the region.
According to the poll, conducted by independent Russian pollster Levada Center, 48 percent of Russians said they were concerned "heightened tensions in relations between Russia and the West could grow into World War III," while 42 percent said they were not concerned about the prospect. The remaining 10 percent declined to answer the question. A total of 1,600 people from across Russia were interviewed for the poll last week.
When asked if citizens believed Russia and the West would eventually find a common ground to the crisis, 35 percent said that this scenario was likely, while 39 percent said that the probability of such an outcome was low. About 26 percent couldn’t answer the question.
However, 52 percent of Russians said they backed Moscow's airstrikes in the region, while 26 percent were opposed to the military action.
Russia first started operations in Syria after receiving a request for military help from the Syrian government, which is currently battling the Islamic State group (also called ISIS), other terrorist groups and anti-government rebel groups in the country. Russian war planes began launching airstrikes on terrorist strongholds in Syria on Sept. 30, 2015.
Western governments and human rights groups have accused Russian forces of carrying out attacks that have resulted in the deaths of several civilians.

Intelligence Director 'Wouldn’t Put It Past' Russia To Shoot US Planes
Last month, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper said that a no-fly zone in Syria, a proposal supported by Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, could lead Russia to shoot down U.S. planes.
"I wouldn’t put it past them to shoot down an American aircraft if they felt that was threatening to their forces on the ground," Clapper said at the Council of Foreign Relations. "The system they have there is very advanced, very capable, and I don’t think they’d do it — deploy it — if they didn’t have some intention to use it."
U.S. officials believe that a no-fly zone would put the U.S. directly in conflict with Russia. GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump has also agreed that the move could trigger a world war.
"What we should do is focus on ISIS. We should not be focusing on Syria. You’re going to end up in World War III over Syria if we listen to Hillary Clinton," Trump told Reuters last Tuesday. "You’re not fighting Syria anymore, you’re fighting Syria, Russia and Iran, all right? Russia is a nuclear country, but a country where the nukes work as opposed to other countries that talk."
