BUSH URGES CONGRESS TO ACT...

Bush urges Congress to act quickly on legislation

WASHINGTON -- President Bush chastised the Democratic-led Congress today for failing to send him the overdue appropriations measures, and pressed it to approve four trade pacts and renew his centerpiece education program.

But even as he criticized what he said was the lack of progress on Capitol Hill, the president said that "we're finding common ground on Iraq."

Bush said he believes "the debate has shifted" in the wake of congressional testimony last month by Ryan Crocker, the U.S. ambassador to Iraq, and Gen. David H. Petraeus, the top U.S. military officer there. Both said that the U.S. troops this year had allowed the country to make some progress, including a reduction in violence.

The president spoke at a news conference in the White House press briefing room -- at times defensive, at times taking an aggressive approach toward Congress when urging it to act quickly on his proposals.

He defended his administration's dealings with Turkey, on which it relies as a central staging area for supplies going into Iraq. Turkey has threatened an incursion into Iraq to challenge Kurdish rebels who seek sanctuary there after raids into Turkey, and it has expressed its outrage over a congressional panel's approval of a non-binding House resolution labeling as genocide the Turkish massacre of Armenians early in the last century.

"One thing Congress should not be doing is sorting out the historical record of the Ottoman Empire," he said, calling the resolution, which has been approved by the House Foreign Relations Committee, "counterproductive."

The president also defended his decision to attend a ceremony this afternoon at the Capitol honoring the Dalai Lama with the Congressional Gold Medal, despite China's strong objections to his public recognition of the Tibetan Buddhist leader. Chinese officials refuse to meet with the Dalai Lama.

"I admire the Dalai Lama a lot. I support religious freedom," Bush said, explaining his decision to take part for the first time in a public event with the religious leader. "I like going to the Gold Medal ceremonies."

The president said he had told Chinese President Hu Jintao when they met in Sydney, Australia, at the beginning of September that he would take part in the program "because I want to honor this man."

Bush met with the Dalai Lama on Tuesday as he has in the past -- in private, in the White House residence rather than in the Oval Office.

Commenting on Russian President Vladimir V. Putin's hints that he might become prime minister after his presidency ends, Bush cracked, "I've been planning that myself."

With the 45-minute press conference drawing to a close, no one had asked him about the controversial children's healthcare program that he vetoed. So the president brought it up himself. He argued that the measure sent to him expanded coverage to children that he thinks should be excluded because their families are not poor.

Instead, he said, the program needs to be fixed to focus instead on the neediest children.

And, pushing Congress to act on his agenda, he singled out pending trade agreements with Peru, Colombia, Panama and South Korea, and said "Congress has work to do on trade."

The Peru agreement is moving through Congress, but the others have stalled.

RUMSFELD'S DISEASE

From the June 2004 Idaho Observer:

Power politics trumped public health in aspartame approval process

Special note to our readers: If you subscribe to The Idaho Observer, you already know how bad it is out there. There is no reason to continue filling our pages with new examples of how badly we are being betrayed by our allegedly elected leaders and those they hire to enforce their horrible policies unless we also indicate productive avenues for activism that could reverse what is happening. Below is an overview of aspartame -- a neurotoxic drug that is found in some 7,000 commonly consumed products in America. All of us are affected by aspartame: We are either suffering its toxic affects ourselves or know people whose bodies are falling apart due to their chronic consumption of this government-approved poison.

Our window for alerting our countrymen to the dangers of aspartame is wide open right now because most Americans are disgusted with Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld for his leadership in Iraq. Donald Rumsfeld can also be credited for poisoning America (and the rest of the world) with aspartame. If we prove to our family members, friends and neighbors how Rumsfeld knowingly and willingly poisoned his own people, how much wider will their minds open to other important issues?

Poisoned people cannot resist tyranny. That is why we published The Artificially Sweetened Times. It is a perverse bonus that the object of our angst, Rumsfeld, is extremely vulnerable right now. We are asking you, our readers, to help us use Rumsfeld to expose aspartame as a means to further awaken our countrymen's awareness to our collective national peril.

by The Idaho Observer

Though the following disease-naming game may seem silly, think again: For a quarter century current Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld has been using his political influence to establish policies that have exposed millions of innocent people, even his own people, to deathly toxic substances. Rumsfeld played a key role in the swine flu mass vaccination fiasco in 1973 and supports Bush administration plans to mass vaccinate every man, woman and child in America with smallpox. Rather than being imprisoned for his crimes against humanity, Rumsfeld holds one of the most influential offices in U.S. government.

by Don Harkins

A growing body of researchers, physicians and laypeople believe artificial sweetener is an underlying cause of epidemic chronic illness nationwide.

Is aspartame a harmless synthetic sweetener or is it a government-approved poison? The evidence, as found in credible scientific research and in the bodies of thousands, perhaps millions of chronically unhealthy people worldwide, indicates that the latter is true: Aspartame is, indeed, a government-approved poison.

Former G.D. Searle CEO Donald Rumsfeld used his political muscle to achieve limited government approval for artificial sweetener aspartame in 1981. Since that time, approval for this extremely addictive, neurotoxic drug has expanded and can be found in an estimated 7,000 commonly consumed foods, beverages and medications.

Adverse reactions to aspartame comprise approximately 80 percent of consumer complaints received by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The FDA has published a list of 92 symptoms of aspartame poisoning, which include asthma, brain cancer, sexual dysfunction, irritability, seizures, vision problems, weight gain, chronic fatigue and death. Regardless of its toxic consequences to consumers, the numbers of foods, beverages and medications containing aspartame increase each year.

A growing body of scientists, doctors and lay people insist aspartame disease is an ignored epidemic and an underlying cause of chronic ill-health in America. Conversely, aspartame producers such as Monsanto subsidiary J.W. Childs, industry advocates such as the Calorie Control Council, government regulators in the FDA and some scientists and physicians claim aspartame is safe and its worst characteristic is that it's non-nutritive.

The evidence is exhaustively documented in “Aspartame Disease: An Ignored Epidemic” by H.J. Roberts, MD. Dr. Roberts' work is supported by internationally renowned neurosurgeon Russell Blaylock, MD. It is also found in numerous government, industry and independently conducted reports available from the Mission Possible website at http://www.dorway.com/.

Rumsfeld unleashes weapon of mass misery

Aspartame was accidentally discovered by G.D. Searle chemist James Schlatter in spring, 1965, while he was working on an ulcer drug. Noting that the substance was 180 times sweeter than sugar by weight, in fall, 1967, Searle began conducting safety tests in preparation for petitioning the FDA for approval of aspartame as a food additive. In one of them, Dr. Harold Weisman, a biochemist at the University of Wisconsin, tested the safety of aspartame on seven infant monkeys. Of the seven monkeys fed aspartame with milk, one died and five began having grand mal seizures.

Subsequent studies also found aspartame to be unsafe as a sugar substitute. Neuroscientist John Olney demonstrated that aspartic acid caused brain tumors in mice.

Undaunted by serious health concerns revealed in its “safety” studies, Searle petitioned the FDA for aspartame approval in February, 1973.

By 1976 Searle's campaign to achieve FDA approval for aspartame was mired in controversy. Amid objections and protests from consumer advocate attorney Jim Turner and Dr. Olney, the FDA launched an investigation into Searle's laboratory practices.

The FDA investigation determined that Searle's lab practices were shoddy and produced inaccurate results by manipulating data. The subsequent FDA report triggered a grand jury investigation into Searle's attempts to defraud the FDA. The investigation was led by U.S. Attorney Samuel Skinner. Six months after the grand jury was convened, Skinner gave up his job with the Department of Justice to take a position at Searle's law firm Sidley & Austin. The statute of limitations ran out and the grand jury investigation was dropped.

By March, 1977, Searle had hired former Illinois congressman and former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld as its CEO. According to former Searle sales rep Patty Wood-Allott. Before a Senate committee discussing proposed labeling requirements for products containing aspartame in 1987, former Searle sales rep Patty Wood-Allott testified under oath that Rumsfeld circulated a telling memo among the company's sales staff in 1981. In the memo, Rumsfeld reportedly stated that, if necessary, “.he would call in all of his markers and that, no matter what, he would see to it that aspartame would be approved that year.”

True to his word, aspartame was approved for use in dry food products July 15, 1981.

How aspartame damages the body

All of aspartame's components and metabolites are toxic to humans.

Aspartame is 50 percent phenylalanine, 40 percent aspartic acid and 10 percent methanol. Phenylanine is an amino acid produced in the body. Synthetic phenylalanine from aspartame can cross the blood/brain barrier, severely imbalancing brain chemistry in a way that decreases serotonin levels, which leads to the development of emotional disorders.

Aspartic acid (also an amino acid) is a neurotransmitter produced in the body to facilitate the transfer of information from neuron to neuron. Consumption of aspartame creates an excess of synthetic aspartic acid capable of damaging or killing neurons by overstimulating them.

Significant numbers of people who consume aspartame develop a variety of neurological disorders commonly diagnosed as multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and Lou Gehrig's disease. Aspartame users often experience memory loss, sexual dysfunction, blindness, heart irregularities, headaches, hearing loss, seizures, blood sugar imbalances, irritability and varying degrees of dementia.

Methanol is a well-known neurotoxin. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recognizes it as a “cumulative” poison. The symptoms of methanol poisoning include headaches, dizziness, nausea, digestive problems, weakness, vertigo, tinnitus, vision problems and blindness, memory lapses, numbness, behavioral problems and neuritis.

The EPA also describes how “methanol is oxidized to formaldehyde and formic acid; both of these metabolites are toxic.”

Formaldehyde, the active ingredient in embalming fluid, is a known carcinogen that interferes with DNA and causes birth defects.

Another byproduct of metabolized aspartame is diketopiperazine (DKP). DKP has been associated with the development of brain tumors and has been found to form on its own in aspartame-containing beverages stored above 86 degrees F.

Naturally, populations most vulnerable to neurological complications from aspartame are infants and young children, pregnant women, the elderly and those suffering from chronic illnesses. Additionally, according to Dr. Roberts, “Aspartame destroys diabetics.”

Deadly deceptions

FDA labeling laws have been amended so that lists of ingredients may not indicate “aspartame” specifically. Some labels just state, “contains phenylalanine.” Other labels may list “flavors,” “natural flavors” or “artificial flavors” which could indicate the otherwise unstated presence of aspartame.

Monsanto recently received product approval for “Neotame.” An artificial sweetener nearly identical to aspartame with the addition of EPA-listed most hazardous chemical 3-dimethylbutyl, Neotame is reportedly 13,000 times sweeter than sugar by weight. It is reported that the FDA does not require Neotame to be specifically identified on product labels because the amount needed to sweeten a product, by percentage, falls beneath labeling requirements or may also be identified as one of the product's “natural flavors.”

What is safe and sweet?

Regardless of what the “experts” say, common sense tells us that products comprised entirely of toxic substances and which break down into other toxic substances during every phase of its journey through the body, is not fit for human consumption. But, we love sweet things and most of us cannot avoid sweetened foods. So, common sense also tells us we should avoid unhealthy sweet synthetic toxins by replacing them with sweeteners that have historically been proven safe for humans.

See the “Healthy Sweetener Use Guide” at the bottom of this page for a list of sweeteners that you should consider using or not using.

Proactivism

Nearly everyone in America is being impacted by aspartame: Either they are themselves suffering from “Rumsfeld's disease type A” or are close to someone whose health is deteriorating due to their addiction to aspartame-containing products. It is easy to see if aspartame is causing health problems because many people experience the disappearance of symptoms once they remove aspartame from their diets.

The Idaho Observer, in cooperation with Mission Possible, has produced a 24-page booklet exploring this important public health issue. The Artificially Sweetened Times is the most concise, compelling and cost-effective means of alerting our nation to the epidemic nature of Rumsfeld's disease type A (see ad page 24).

Copies of The Artificially Sweetened Times are available for $35 per 100 -- shipping included. Circulate this publication among friends, family and throughout your community. The future of America could very well depend upon the removal of aspartame (and now Neotame) from our food supply. An online version is available for free at http://www.vaclib.org/news/astimes.htm.

Rumsfeld's disease types A-DU

Type A

The spectrum of chronic disorders linked to aspartame have been generically labeled “aspartame disease.” This disease has become so pervasive it deserves a new name. Since Donald Rumsfeld was willing to “call in all of his markers” to make sure Americans would be exposed to this brain-damaging, body-ravaging artificial sweetener, it seems fitting that we honor the current secretary of defense by naming a disease after him: “Rumsfeld's disease type A.”

Type B

But we need not stop at the letter “A.” Since Rumsfeld arranged for biological weapons to be sold to Iraq for use against the Kurds during the 80s, biologically-induced diseases could be named “Rumsfeld's disease type B.

Type C

Rumsfeld also arranged for chemical weapons to be used in various locations throughout the world. Chemically-induced diseases could be named Rumsfeld's disease type C.

Type DU

As secretary of defense, Rumsfeld has been responsible for making sure that friendly, enemy and civilian personnel are exposed to radiation from exploded munitions coated in depleted uranium. DU-related symptoms could be named Rumsfeld's disease type DU.

And the list could go on: E for environmental, for instance. The point is that we have the tool ( The Artificially Sweetened Times), and the network to distribute the tool (each other). If we all did our part, it could be common knowledge in short order what a monster Rumsfeld really is and, perhaps, he could be led away in chains and his poisons removed from the world's food supply.

BUSH: THREAT OF WW III IF IRAN GOES NUCLEAR

Bush: Threat of World War III if Iran goes nuclear

By Matt Spetalnick

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President George W. Bush warned on Wednesday a nuclear-armed Iran could lead to World War III as he tried to shore up international opposition to Tehran amid Russian skepticism over its nuclear ambitions.

Bush was speaking a day after Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has resisted Western pressure to toughen his stance over Iran's nuclear program, made clear on a visit to Tehran that Russia would not accept any military action against Iran.

At a White House news conference, Bush expressed hope Putin would brief him on his talks in Tehran and said he would ask him to clarify recent remarks on Iran's nuclear activities.

Putin said last week that Russia, which is building Iran's first atomic power plant, would "proceed from the position" that Tehran had no plans to develop nuclear weapons but he shared international concerns that its nuclear programs "should be as transparent as possible."

"The thing I'm interested in is whether or not he continues to harbor the same concerns that I do," Bush said. "When we were in Australia (in September), he reconfirmed to me that he recognizes it's not in the world's interest for Iran to have the capacity to make a nuclear weapon."

Bush, who has insisted he wants a diplomatic solution to the Iranian issue, is pushing for a third round of U.N. sanctions against Iran.

Russia, a veto-holding member of the Security Council, backed two sets of limited U.N. sanctions against Iran but has resisted any tough new measures.

Stepping up his rhetoric, Bush said a nuclear-armed Iran would pose a "dangerous threat to world peace."

"We've got a leader in Iran who has announced that he wants to destroy Israel," he said. "So I've told people that, if you're interested in avoiding World War III, it seems like you ought to be interested in preventing them from having the knowledge necessary to make a nuclear weapon."

PUTIN'S "SPECIAL MESSAGE"

Iran rejects accusations it is seeking to develop a nuclear bomb, saying it wants nuclear technology for peaceful civilian purposes such as power generation, and has refused to heed U.N. Security Council demands to halt sensitive uranium enrichment.

Chief Iranian nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani was quoted by Iran's official IRNA news agency on Wednesday as saying that Putin had delivered a "special message" on its atomic program and other issues. No other details were given.

Putin's visit on Tuesday was watched closely because of Moscow's possible leverage in the Islamic Republic's nuclear standoff with the West. It was the first time a Kremlin chief went to Iran since Josef Stalin in 1943.

Asked about Putin's "special message," U.S. State Department spokesman Tom Casey said he was not aware of any deal or offer put forward by Moscow to Tehran over the nuclear program.

On Russian opposition to Caspian Sea states being used to launch attacks against Iran, Casey reiterated that Bush kept all his options on the table but that the United States was committed to the diplomatic path with Tehran.

HOUSING SLUMP UNFOLDING

Housing Slump ‘Unfolding,’ Treasury Chief Says
Andrew Councill/Bloomberg News

In a speech at Georgetown University's law school, Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson Jr. called for an overhaul of mortgage lending laws.

By EDMUND L. ANDREWS
Published: October 16, 2007

WASHINGTON, Oct. 16 — Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson Jr. offered a pessimistic view of the country’s housing slump today as he called for help for hard-pressed homeowners and new mortgage regulations. But he urged Congress not to overreact by passing excessively harsh measures.

“Let me be clear: Despite strong economic fundamentals, the housing decline is still unfolding, and I view it as the most significant current risk to our economy,” Mr. Paulson said in a speech at a Georgetown University law forum. “The longer housing prices remain stagnant or fall, the greater the penalty to our future economic growth.”

Mr. Paulson said that “a first and important step” is to identify struggling borrowers early, steer them to mortgage counselors “and find a sustainable mortgage solution.”

“We have an immediate need to see more loan modifications and refinancing and other flexibility,” Mr. Paulson said. “For many families, this will be the only viable solution.”

Citing recent surveys showing that as many as half of the borrowers who have gone into foreclosure never had prior discussions with mortgage counselors, Mr. Paulson said, “That must change; early intervention is critical.”

But he warned against what he sees as an overreaction to “predatory lending” practices, and he said Congress must proceed with caution in determining whether to impose greater liability on mortgage “securitizers and investors,” or risk “cutting off investment inflows to the housing market.”

Mr. Paulson’s remarks today reflected perhaps the most sobering assessment by an administration official of the housing industry. Two months ago, when credit markets around the world were freezing up in panic over failed mortgages, Mr. Paulson said he was confident investors would work things out for themselves.

“We’re going to work through this problem just fine,” he said in an interview with CNBC on Aug. 21. “I think what the American people need to understand, these things take a while to play out.”

Mr. Paulson says he still holds that view. But in a sign that administration officials are more worried about underlying problems in the markets than they had previously let on, Mr. Paulson and other top Treasury officials are prodding and pushing Wall Street firms and the mortgage industry to come up with solutions — and helping devise some of them as well.

The plan announced Monday involves no money from taxpayers, and it was negotiated primarily between the banks themselves. But it highlighted Mr. Paulson’s growing effort to marry two competing goals of the Bush administration: to stabilize the battered markets for mortgages and housing, but to avoid a government bailout that might encourage investors to take even bigger risks in the future — what economists call “moral hazard.”

“I have no interest in bailing out lenders or property speculators,” Mr. Paulson said today. “Still, we must recognize the very real harm to families affected by the housing downturn.”

The Treasury’s move coincided with a gloomy assessment of both the mortgage and housing markets by Ben S. Bernanke, chairman of the Federal Reserve. “Despite a few encouraging signs, conditions in mortgage markets remain difficult,” Mr. Bernanke told the New York Economic Club in a speech in Midtown Manhattan Monday evening.

Mr. Bernanke said the overall economy is still growing, suggesting that the Fed is not likely to cut interest rates at its policy meeting at the end of this month unless conditions worsen markedly in the next couple of weeks. But he predicted that the housing market has yet to hit bottom and that it was likely to be a “significant drag” on growth through early next year. A weak economy, he added, could reinforce problems in the credit markets.

Mr. Paulson’s effort to hammer out a plan with major banks to support mortgage-backed securities was headed by two of his top deputies, Robert Steel and Anthony Ryan, both Wall Street veterans. The two men herded rival bank executives into meetings and conference calls over the past month, and helped devise a plan aimed at jump-starting the frozen mortgage market.

Mr. Paulson is becoming more active on other fronts as well. In his speech today, he called for new nationwide rules for mortgage lenders, changes in the practices of credit-rating agencies and tougher scrutiny by federal banking regulators.

Mr. Paulson also tried to step up pressure on mortgage lenders and mortgage-servicing companies to renegotiate terms for people in danger of defaulting on expensive subprime loans.

JENA SIX DRAWS VOLATILE MIX

Jena Six draws volatile mix

By: Ryan Grim
Oct 16, 2007 08:27 PM EST

Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee (D-TX)
Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) betrayed some of the sensitivity King referred to as she questioned the Justice Department witnesses.

The hearing is already 20 minutes late in starting, and there’s still no sign of today’s star witness, the Rev. Al Sharpton. Chairman John Conyers Jr. (D-Mich.) opens the proceedings anyway.

The House Judiciary Committee hearing would have drawn a packed audience regardless — a crowd that is, by Capitol Hill standards, remarkably diverse — because the topic involves the Jena Six, a half-dozen African-American kids whose moniker has become the rallying cry of a resurgent civil rights movement.

A strong contingent of Congressional Black Caucus members is on hand, including CBC Chairwoman Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick (D-Mich.), who’s not even a member of the Judiciary Committee. Twelve Democrats are here at the start, nine of them black. Two Republicans, both white, are also here.

“Let me see if I can find a press seat,” Kilpatrick says. There are no vacancies at the media table, but she spies an empty chair on the dais, lifts New York Democratic Rep. Anthony D. Weiner’s nameplate from its slot and pulls up a chair. Even indicted Rep. William Jefferson (D-La.) is on hand, despite his lack of membership.

The room has a tense and excited feel to it. Two representatives of the Justice Department, Donald Washington, a U.S. attorney from the Western District of Louisiana, and Lisa Krigsten, representing the civil rights division, must defend the department for its decision not to press hate crime charges against teenage noose hangers in Jena, La., and for not doing enough to intervene in a racially disparate prosecution. Washington, an African-American, will draw the most heat from the committee.

“I’m sure we’re all familiar with the alleged facts,” says Rep. Bobby Scott (D-Va.), though he and several Democrats enumerate them anyway:

On Aug. 31, 2006, “all Hades broke loose,” as Rep. Hank Johnson (D-Ga.) puts it. Three nooses were hung from what was known as the “white tree” at Jena High School after a black student requested the principal’s permission to sit under it. No charges were filed, and the culpable students, initially expelled, had their punishment reduced to a suspension and family counseling.

Tensions rose, and white District Attorney Reed Walters — who doubled as the school’s attorney — reportedly told students to cool it or he would “erase their lives with the stroke of a pen.”

Later that fall, one of the Jena Six, Robert Bailey Jr., had a gun pulled on him by a white student. Bailey wrestled the gun from him andwas charged with stealing it; the white student was charged with nothing. Tensions rose further and white students were “calling folks niggers out in the school yard,” says Johnson.

Then in December, six black students beat up a white kid, Justin Barker. “There was a small degree of physical injury to the white student who attended a party,” says Johnson. The six were charged with attempted murder, and the story went national 10 months later when Sharpton and the Rev. Jesse Jackson Jr. got involved.

The story line is generally stipulated. It’s the perception that differs. “Whether or not attempted murder is appropriate under that jurisdiction, I don’t know. I’ve never prosecuted under that jurisdiction,” says Dan Lungren (R-Calif.). “We need to talk about justice being done [to] all of the victims.”

AN INTRODUCTION TO SKULL AND BONES

A JOURNALIST'S INTRODUCTION
TO SKULL AND BONES

By Eric Samuelson, J.D.

This brief introduction to Skull and Bones is dedicated to those journalists in America who have both the courage and the ability to inform the public regarding what others may consider to be a taboo subject -- a foreign-born secret society that has exported itself to this nation and may succeed in securing the highest office in the land for still another of its sworn initiates. The two main characters in this story so far are Antony C. Sutton and David Armstrong. The first is a scholar of the first order to began the definitive work on this subject and then vanished. The second came to Texas from California, became the editor of the most liberal Texas magazine, wrote a series of very insightful articles on the Bush family and then, like Sutton, was apparently muzzled INTRODUCTION

In May of 1994 a Texas Monthly story (p. 146) by Skip Hollandsworth, on George W. Bush, briefly stated: "Although he did not graduate Phi Beta Kappa as his father had, he did follow his father into the university's Skull and Bones Club, a secret society for the males of prominent families."

The majority of Bonesmen are from old-line Puritan families. They include the following families: Whitney, Lord, Phelps. Wadsworth, Allen, Bundy, Adams, Stimson, Taft, Gilman and Perkins. A second group of families in the Skull & Bones are: Harriman, Rockefeller, Payne, Davison, Pillsbury and Weyerhauser. The Order of Skull and Bones was once called the "Brotherhood of Death."(1)

At any given time, only about 600 or so members of the Order are alive. Of that number only 150 (about one-quarter) take an active role in the society. It is estimated that a core of perhaps 20-30 families run the Order. Recent Bones inductees include a few blacks, gays, and even some foreign students. In 1991 Skull and Bones began to admit women members. Each initiate gets $15,000 and a grandfather clock. A neophyte's name is changed to Knight so and so. The old Knights are known as Patriarchs. Outsiders are known as Gentiles and vandals. It meets annually -- patriarchs only -- on Deer Island in the St. Lawrence River.(2)

THE SECRECY OF BONES

"Initiates are sworn to secrecy. They are required to leave the room if The Order comes into discussion. They cannot -- under oath -- answer questions on The Order and its organization."

-- Antony C. Sutton(3)

The Senior secret societies at Yale, wrote Lymann Bogg, "never mention their names."(4) Not even the inquisitive Pamela Churchill Harriman could get her third husband to talk about Bones: "(Averell) Harriman regularly went back to the tomb (the Bone's Temple) on High Street, once even lamenting that his duties as chief negotiator at the Paris Peace Talks prevented him from attending a reunion. So complete was his trust in Bone's code of secrecy that in conversations at annual dinners he spoke openly about national security affairs. He refused, however, to tell his family anything about Bones. Soon after she became Harriman's third wife in 1971, Pamela Churchill Harriman received an odd letter addressing her by a name spelled in hieroglyphics. 'Oh, that's Bones,' Harriman said. 'I must tell you about that sometime. Uh, I mean I can't tell you about that.'"(5)

UNIVERSITIES AS SPAWNING GROUNDS OF THREE DIFFERENT SECRET SOCIETIES

Between 1983-1986, the British-born conspiracy scholar Antony C. Sutton wrote a series of pamphlets about the Order of Skull & Bones. Sutton said that his series was "based on several sources, including contemporary 'moles.'"(6) The short pamphlets were compiled into one volume and published as a book in 1986. Sutton noted that secret societies had been organized at three universities: "The Illuminati was founded at (the) University of Ingolstadt. The (Cecil Rhodes) Group was founded at All Souls College, Oxford University in England, and the Order was founded at Yale University in the United States."(7) He noted: "The paradox is that institutions supposedly devoted to the search for truth and freedom have given birth to institutions devoted to world enslavement."

BUT, WHAT'S WRONG WITH SECRET SOCIETIES?

Sutton's "magnum opus" laid out his views regarding secret societies: "Secret political organizations can be-and have been-extremely dangerous to the social health and constitutional validity of a society. In a truly free society the exercise of political power must always be open and known." (8) He then stated: "Moreover, organizations devoted to violent overthrow of political structures have always, by necessity, been secret organizations. Communist revolutionary cells are an obvious example. In fact, such revolutionary organizations can only function if their existence was secret."(9) Further, said Sutton: "In brief, secrecy in matters political is historically associated with coercion. Furthermore, the existence of secrecy in organizations with political ambitions or with a history of political actions is always suspect. Freedom is always associated with open political action and discussion while coercion is always associated with secrecy."(10)

A pamphlet on Bones described the walls of the tomb as "adorned with pictures of the founders of Bones at Yale and of the members of the Society in Germany when the Chapter was established here in 1832."(11) Sutton asked: "Think about this: Skull and Bones is not American at all. It is a branch of a FOREIGN secret society."(12) Sutton concluded that Skull and Bones "is a clear and obvious threat to constitutional freedom in the United States. Its secrecy, power and use of influence is greater by far than the masons, or any other semi-secret mutual or fraternal organization."(13)

SUTTON COMPARED BONES TO THE BAVARIAN ILLUMINATI

While critics concede that the Illuminati "was an actual group that existed from 1776 until 1785. . . " it is also explained that: "Given the fact that Weishaupt's ideas ran counter to the authoritarian, church-intertwined-with-state power structure, he was forced to keep his Illuminati secret and work through Masonic lodges. He was not successful."(14)

Sutton made numerous tentative comparisons between the Illuminati and Bones. Each member, according to an 1876 anonymous satire, has an "inside name" and "these names bear a remarkable resemblance to those used by the Illuminati, e.g., Chilo, Eumenes, Glaucus, Pristicus and Arbaces."(15) He added: "During its time, the Illuminati had widespread and influential membership. After suppression by the Bavarian Government in 1788 it was quiet for some years and then reportedly revived."(16) Sutton promised that "in a subsequent book, we will trace the order to the Illuminati. . ."(17) Also, Sutton stated: "The significance of this study is that the methods and objectives (of the Illuminati) parallel those of the Order. In fact, infiltration of the Illuminati into New England is known and will be the topic of a forthcoming volume."(18) He later wrote: "At this point we want to draw a comparison between the Order known as Skull and Bones and The Order known as Illuminati in 18th century Bavaria. This is not the time and place to draw final conclusions."(19) Sutton noted that "It (Bones) was introduced into the United States by William Russell, later General William Russell, who brought a charter back from his student days in Germany."(20) [So far a check of Russell's biographies has revealed no hint of a German education]. When the Skull and Bones "Temple" was raided in 1876 a card was found that read: "From the German Chapter. Presented by Patriarch D.C. Gilman of D. 50."(21) The Yale Bones catalogs indicate that Skull and Bones began in the U.S. in the 3rd decade of the second period of the organization. The first decade of the second period would be 1800 with the first period being 1790-1800: "That places us in the time frame of the elimination of Illuminati by the Bavarian Elector."(22)

Two years later Sutton, in 1988, wrote The Two Faces of George Bush. In this work he identified George W. Bush as a Bonesman like his soon-to-be President father. Sutton has not written further on the Order. At least one close associate claimed that Sutton became and remains "a fugitive in his own adopted country."

EDITOR OF TEXAS OBSERVER, DAVID ARMSTRONG, LASTS EIGHT MONTHS

On March 22, 1991, a crusading journalist named David Armstrong became the editor of the Texas Observer. His career at the most liberal and outspoken Texas magazine lasted just over eight months. On April 5, 1991, he wrote an article entitled "The Great S&L Robbery: Spookbuster Pete Brewton Tells All." On July 26, 1991 another article by Armstrong was entitled: "Oil in the Family." On September 20, 1991, Armstrong wrote another piece entitled: "Global Entanglements." The cover featured a cartoon of George "W" Bush with "Harken" on his head and CIA agents (spies) all around him.

On November 29, 1991 David Armstrong's name appeared on the masthead of the Texas Observer for the last time. Armstrong deplored and described what he termed a trend of preemptive journalism: "Mainstream media have never demonstrated a keen interest in challenging the status quo. Contrary to the popular image of an independent and adversarial press, U.S. corporate media are, in fact, little more than lackeys for elite interests."

Armstrong also blasted criticism of Stone's JFK movie prior to the scenes even being shot. He criticized Times Harken coverage as "half-measures." His last Texas Observer words were: "Time's handling of the Harken story is just one more example of the disturbing trend toward preemptive journalism. The consequences of this practice are serious indeed, for it has the potential to not only diffuse and obscure information, but to prevent it from ever being debated in the public arena at all. Unlike the alternative press, mainstream sources are widely available and well indexed. For that reason, they are widely cited and help shape official history. Twenty years from now when George W. Bush is running for president, researchers and journalists interested in his business activities in Texas will likely turn to Time magazine and other mainstream sources of their information. But if they're interested in reading the whole story, they'll have to look elsewhere."(23)

Thus ended David Armstrong's editorship at the Texas Observer. It is believed that there was a last conversation between Armstrong and his publisher but no explanation was ever written that explained his departure to the Observer's readership. Armstrong's prophecy of a run for the presidency by George "W" Bush has now come true. But his pen is no longer telling more of the real Bush story.

GROUND ZERO LOGIC - PROOF 911 WAS AN INSIDE JOB

Ground Zero Logic - Proof that 9/11 was an Inside Job
By Peter Zaza

Take a Look at this Picture:

This picture was taken shortly after the collapse on 9/11 in NYC. Do you see the 45 degree angle cut on the steel column, and do you see the sulfidised residue around that straight cut. OK, now we must take that information and by necessity draw some very important and inevitable conclusions. These conclusions are binding, you don't get to agree with each successive point and then refute the eventuality, no matter how uncomfortable it may be. That would be like saying ok, I see the straight cut, but now I'm going to tell you I want to pretend it's not there.

According to the official US government theory about 9/11 - an airplane flew into the building 95 floors above, and the jet fuel got so hot that it transferred it's energy downward and caused the metal on the support columns to fail synchronously, as well as leaving behind all the tell-tale signs of a controlled demolition charge using thermate, which leaves a sulfidised residue, and is also the only known method of slicing construction grade steel of this strength and volume in this alloted time.

Now, given the fact that jet fuel can only reach a temperature far below that which would be necessary to melt and evaporate steel, as definitely occurred on 9/11 as shown by the following photograph taken at ground zero:

and confirmed by satellite thermographic imagery which shows the pools of molten metal hot spots at thousands of degrees - up to months after the event:

We must therefor conclude that the buildings were brought down by controlled demolition. Especially when you consider that one of the three buildings which fell down at free-fall speed was not even hit by a plane, yet still had the molten metal.

Add to this the compelling evidence given to us from hundreds of first responders and eyewitnesses who heard and saw explosions - as well as the numerous video and audio recordings taken by news teams and others.

People like the hero and WTC worker Frank Selecchia

who took this famous picture of Tower #1 showing molten steel 2 months later

Gravity induced collapse due to structural failure?

Do you really believe that? If you don't accept the obvious conclusion that there were many explosives used to bring down the towers, then you must somehow explain:

- how the jet fuel could slice through steel like in the picture above, 95 floors down from where the plane crashed, and with a residue ONLY at the straight line cut, and only possible by thermate reaction.

- where all the explosive energy came from to disintegrate the structural steel and allow the complete collapse of these structures. There is simply no other mechanism that fits the evidence. Look at the dripping metal beams, glowing red hot - now explain it with jet fuel - a physical impossibility - unless you want to disregard the laws of thermodynamics.

- how these buildings fell straight down through the path of most resistance at free-fall speeds. Imagine a flaming arrow hitting a 90 meter tall Douglas Fir tree near the top - and then try and tell me the base of the tree disintegrates into dust as a result.

Add to these facts the media's completely criminal and reprehensible complicity over these subsequent years, and what we have here folks is a full-blown fascist dictatorship - where your government can call you a terrorist for even questioning their fairy tales about 9/11, and then lock you up and torture you without any chance of a fair trial - hell, they even put all that into law.

Even worse - our soldiers are dying in these wars in Afghanistan and Iraq based upon this horrible lie. Not to mention the one million dead Iraqis, and the millions of displaced and shattered lives in those countries. How about the threats to start the next war with Iran - how much proof do you need?

- rigged elections - repeal of Habeas Corpus - Patriot Act - Department of Homeland Criminals - legalized torture - Military Commissions Act - Signing statements - criminalization of dissent - no fly lists - detention centers

How can this be happening? - it's happening because of the corruption which has overtaken the government. It's happening because the 5 corporations who control ALL of the mainstream media are owned by the same people who make the machinery and the bombs of war, it is in their financial interest to keep us in a state of perpetual conflict and confusion at the expense of our freedom, our rights as individuals, and any sense of dignity as human beings.

Now, if you still don't understand that it had to be controlled demolition then go back to the first picture and go through it all a bit slower this time, and each time, until you get it.

9/11 was carried out by elements within the US government The war on terror is a hoax No Al Qaeda Just Lies Hatred Fear

The facts about 9/11 and the immutable physical laws of nature will not be altered - only your capacity for critical thought.

SAVING CANADA FROM A NORTH AMERICAN UNION

Saving Canada From a North American Union

by Dana Gabriel http://newworldordermustbestopped.com/DanasBlog.html

The Council of Canadians and the Canadian Action Party along with many
others have been tirelessly working to expose Canada's integration into a
North American Union, but it will take a strong voice and more action on the
part of the NDP to truly defeat this agenda. At the risk of sounding highly
critical, there is more the NDP can do, and more we can all do for that
matter. Having said that, the commitment the NDP has shown towards unmasking
deep integration in the last three or four months must be commended. In
contrast, the lack of action and almost complete silence on the part of the
Liberals underscores the fact that they still very much support this plan.
After all, it was then Liberal Prime Minister Paul Martin, who signed the
Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) of North America in March of 2005,
and current Conservative PM Stephen Harper has carried on with the whole SPP
process. When the fall session of Parliament resumes, the government will
outline their agenda in the Speech from the Throne. There is much talk that
the Conservatives could be defeated in a non-confidence vote, but another
election would likely produce a Harper minority government again. The NAU
and Canadian sovereignty could become a sleeper issue in the next election.
It will take the effort of countless individuals on both the left and right,
grassroots organizations, and the help of organized labour to make this a
core issue, but ultimately it will take dedication on the part of the NDP to
defeat this threat to Canada.

The NDP is the only Canadian federal party with seats in the House of
Commons to actively reject the SPP and NAU agenda. Some dozen NDP Members of
Parliament have been hard at work exposing the SPP in respects to their own
critic portfolios in matters of labour, agriculture, human rights, the
environment, health-care, energy, and income security. In June of 2006, the
NDP hosted a Tri-National forum which included legislators and civil society
representatives from Canada, Mexico, and the United States to discuss
alternatives to deep integration. It is because of the efforts of NDP Trade
Critic Peter Julian and others that the Standing Committee on International
Trade held the first ever Canadian public hearings on the SPP in April. This
was seen as a huge victory for the NDP and more importantly Canadians.
Julian said, “This is only the beginning.” He went on to say, “The NDP will
not stop until a full Parliamentary debate and review takes place.” In later
hearings professor Gordon Laxer of Alberta's Parkland Institute was
interrupted by Conservative MP and chair of the Standing Committee on
International Trade Leon Benoit. Laxer was trying to deliver testimony on
the energy implications of the SPP when Benoit demanded that he stop because
apparently what he was saying was irrelevant. His motion was overruled, but
he abruptly adjourned the meeting and stormed out, followed by other
Conservative members. The hearings nevertheless continued with NDP and
Liberals present. This odd behavior by Benoit demonstrated the Conservatives
unwillingness to have any criticism on the SPP come out and only fueled
speculations of a cover up.

The NDP is working with those in the U.S. and Mexico who share the same
concerns regarding the SPP. NDP MP Peter Julian has been working with
Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur, whose amendment was passed in July, prohibiting
federal U.S. Department of Transportation funds from being used by SPP
working groups until a review by Congress is completed. Julian said, “the
NDP's concerns about the SPP's secret agenda are echoed by legislators in
the U.S. We need the same level of scrutiny on this side of the border.” He
is also working with members of the Canadian Labour Congress and Common
Frontiers along with others. The NDP might never have a better opportunity
to make substantial gains in the next election, and by vicariously opposing
the NAU, it will further distinguish them from the other main parties. NDP
leader Jack Layton said, “Like the Liberals before him Harper is ignoring
the will of Parliament and excluding Canadians from the decision making
process. I am appealing to all Canadians to join the NDP.” Now if this is
indeed a sincere invitation and represents a willingness on the part of the
NDP to defeat the NAU, than a diverse coalition of all those opposing this
agenda must get behind this commitment. A sovereign independent nation must
be protected, and at this crucial time in history, it will take a coming
together of citizens from all regions of the country to save Canada.

With the buildup to the SPP Summit in Montebello, Quebec in August, the veil
of secrecy and silence was lifted on the part of the Liberals and
Conservatives, and some in the mainstream media. They all had to reluctantly
acknowledge this agenda's very existence for a short period of time. Even
before the summit took place, the Council of Canadians was informed that
they wouldn't be able to hold an SPP forum 6 km from Montebello as it was
part of an extensive security perimeter. NDP Peter Julian responded to the
decision in a letter to Public Safety Minister Stockwell Day. He said, “I am
greatly concerned about the refusal to allow democratic debate in any
community within 25 km of the security zone of the closed-door meetings.”
Julian did later participate in the SPP forum which was held in Ottawa.
During one of the many protests in Montebello, CEP Union President Dave
Coles confronted three anarchists and one of them had a rock in his hand, he
accused the men of being police. All of this was captured on video. His
actions may have prevented violence and police arresting peaceful
protesters. It later did come out that the three individuals were undercover
Quebec Provincial Police who were apparently only there to observe and aid
in case a riot ensued. Their behavior suggests something quite the contrary,
as it appears they were the ones who were to orchestrate any violence and
upheaval, to give the protesters a bad name, and discredit their message.
Almost immediately, NDP MPs Libby Davis and Peter Julian called upon the
federal government to hold a public inquiry into allegations that agent
provocateurs were used in protests at the summit. Their request was flatly
rejected by Public Safety Minister Stockwell Day.

Shortly after the SPP summit ended, the NDP was able to obtain documents
through the Freedom of Information Act, which revealed that part of the
meetings dealt with energy integration and harmonization. NDP Energy Critic
Dennis Bevington said, “Canada is not the gas tank of the United States.
NAFTA already locks us into supplying energy to the United States even if
ordinary Canadians go without; a North American Union would only make this
worse.” Some sections of the documents were censored, but they still proved
that the SPP isn't just about security and prosperity. NDP Peter Julian
said, “The SPP's agenda goes way beyond facilitating transportation across
the border, or developing an effective pandemic protection strategy. The 30
CEOs who joined the leaders in closed-door meetings are driving their big
business priorities through the SPP agenda. Their recommendations call for
nothing less than the steady erosion of Canada's sovereignty and the quality
of life for Canadians.” In August, the NDP launched a national campaign
holding forums and town hall meetings on the SPP all across Canada. They
have also circulated a petition calling for the suspension of the SPP and
continental integration.

The Canadian Parliament fall session has been delayed until October 16, and
when it does reconvene, several anti-SPP motions will be presented by the
NDP. The motions call for the government to, “stop further implementation of
the SPP...until there is a democratic mandate from the people of Canada,
Parliamentary oversight, and consideration of its profound consequences on
Canada's existence as a sovereign nation...” Not to rain on anyone's parade,
but a reality check is in order, and at this time I must call upon the
leader of the Canadian Action Party Connie Fogal for some sobering thoughts
that serve as a warning. She said, “All of the NDP, the Liberals, the Bloc
Quebecois and the Council of Canadians fail to call for an absolute
cessation of the administrative integrating process UNTIL there is a debate
and discussion on the SPP, or on a different model of integration, and a
vote in Parliament. The until means that the NDP, the Liberals, BQ and the
COC will facilitate the integration of Canada into a North American entity
as long as they have opportunity to talk about it and have input into its
shape.” The only way to stop the SPP would be to walk away from it, disband
the working groups, and cancel any harmonization of regulations that might
have already taken place. Let's get one thing clear--Canada's sovereignty,
its independence, and its demise is not negotiable. It would simply be
impossible to protect Canada under the current SPP structure. If Canadians
overwhelmingly agree to the agenda of deep integration, having been
presented all the facts, then it would be something we would all have to
live with. There is no doubt that an educated public will rise up against
the North American Union and defeat it, but it will require a concerted
effort on the part the NDP and many others to make this become a reality.

SETTING THE STAGE FOR A N.A.U. CURRENCY

Setting The Stage For a North American Union Currency

By Dana Gabriel http://newworldordermustbestopped.com/DanasBlog.html

We live in a time of sky rocketing trade deficits. The housing bubble is
ready to burst, and more and more jobs are being outsourced. America has
become more of a service-based economy, resulting in a lower number of goods
being exported. We are witnessing the death of the middle class by design.
The dollar is being further devalued and its collapse is imminent. The
global elite are looting the economy and setting the stage for a North
American Union currency. They are the ones orchestrating the devaluation of
the dollar, and will pose as our saviors by offering a single currency
called the amero as their solution. Through the Security and Prosperity
Partnership (SPP) of North America, working groups are busy integrating the
U.S., Canada, and Mexico into a North American Union. Those who do favor a
European Union style continental integration view the idea of a unified
currency as essential. Abandoning the dollar will be very unpopular with
many Americans, but as it continues its painful collapse and becomes weaker,
arguments for a regional currency will only be further bolstered.

Many argue that a regional currency and a North American Union will be
needed in order to compete with the European Union and the euro. There seems
to be no end to the dollar's woes as it continues to hit record lows against
the euro. Large and ever growing trade deficits with China further threaten
the dollar, and the euro is competing as the international foreign reserve
currency. A single North American currency is nothing new as the idea has
been floated around for some time. In 1999 , economist and former Canadian
Member of Parliament Herbert G. Grubel published his paper, “The Case for
the Amero: The Economics and Politics of a North American Monetary Union.”
It is interesting that he gives 2010 as the possible timetable for the
introduction of the amero. This happens to coincide with the Council on
Foreign Relations (CFR) task force's report, “Building a North American
Community,” which also states the target year of 2010 for the implementation
of their recommendations in matters of economics, politics and security.
This report is considered by many to be the blueprint for the SPP, which was
signed in March of 2005. It is through the SPP process that a North American
Union is being created. The proposed amero would be a single North American
fiat currency. This would give the global elite control of North America
through the power of currency creation and would further facilitate in the
consolidation of wealth and power in the region.

The CFR supports a switch to regional and global currencies, and an end to
national currencies. They have had their tentacles in almost every
administration, with the goal of destroying U.S. sovereignty. Benn Steil,
the CFR's Director of International Economics said, “countries should
abandon monetary nationalism. Governments should replace national
currencies.” The CFR wishes to divide the economies of the world into three
different regions, each with its own currency. Ending monetary nationalism
will result in the loss of economic sovereignty. In an article entitled “The
Death of Three Nations,” Alan Burkhart states, “Our currency will be
replaced with the Amero. And we'll be one giant step closer to the UN's
perverse dream of a one-world government.” A North American Union and the
amero are only one small part of the New World Order's agenda to enslave
humanity.

Many consider Robert Pastor to be, “the father of the North American Union,”
as he has been one of the leading advocates for deeper integration. He
envisions a North America with its own currency, the amero. He was one of
the vice chairs of the “Building a North American Community” report. He
often uses word semantics, and by referring to a North American Community
instead of Union, it sounds less ominous and threatening, when there is
really little difference. According to Pastor, a time is coming soon when a
common currency will be needed to compete with the euro. He has said that
another 9/11 terrorist attack could create the right climate needed to
advance integration into a North American Community. He stated,”What I'm
saying is that a crisis is an event which can force democratic governments
to make difficult decisions like those that would be required to create a
North American Community.” After a terrorist attack or an economic collapse,
many more would accept the idea of the amero and a North American Union as
both reasonable solutions.

In May of this year David Dodge Governor of the Bank of Canada said that a
unified currency with the U.S. was a real possibility. Bob Chapman,
publisher of the news letter, the International Forecaster, said that the
amero, “will be presented to the American public as the administrations
solution for dollar recovery.” Steve Previs, a vice president at Jefferies
International LTD., a London investment firm, has openly prompted a move
over to the amero. Speaking of the amero, he said that it, “is a proposed
currency for a North American Community which is being developed right now
between Canada, the U.S., and Mexico.” He went on to say that the agenda is
a, “borderless community, much like the European Union, with the U.S.
dollar, the Canadian dollar, and the Mexican peso being replaced by the
amero.” A couple of weeks ago, BankIntroductions.com was informing their
clients that the amero could be introduced as a North American currency
sometime in the next ten years. If there wasn't already enough proof that
the amero and the North American Union agenda are real and not some made up
conspiracy theories, former Mexican President Vicente Fox only reaffirmed
these suspicions in interviews on the Larry King Show and on the Daily Show
with Jon Stewart. Fox is a true globalist, and on the Larry King Show he
expressed that President Bush has been working towards a single currency
similar to the euro. On the Daily Show, he argued in favor of a North
American Union, using the EU as its model. This was an incredible admission
by a most senior former government official as he publicly advocated for the
creation of a North American Union and its own currency. This was not a slip
of the tongue as it was meant to present this agenda in a positive manner,
test the waters, and further condition the people for its eventual
implementation if we are unable to stop it.

There is an even bigger gap between rich and poor, and the death of the
middle class is almost complete. It is the multinational corporations who
benefit from trade deals like NAFTA and CAFTA, and a North American Union
will be no different. The corporate takeover of North America is a
destructive cycle that will only serve to further widen the gap between rich
and poor. The unholy alliance between government and multinational
corporations has been exposed on many levels. This is no longer our
government, as they have ceased to be for the people and have become for the
rich, by the rich, and for the rich as big business interests come before
our own. The amero is part of the integration of the U.S., Canada, and
Mexico into a North American Union. The current global crisis and the
dollar's imminent collapse could be the right climate for the introduction
of a regional currency. The amero will mean the end of our financial
sovereignty, and will further undermine America's ability to control its own
economic independence.
