ROCK OF AGES
ISAIAH 30: REBELLIOUS ISRAEL (THEN AND NOW)
2That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt!
3Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.
4For his princes were at Zoan, and his ambassadors came to Hanes.
5They were all ashamed of a people that could not profit them, nor be an help nor profit, but a shame, and also a reproach.
6The burden of the beasts of the south: into the land of trouble and anguish, from whence come the young and old lion, the viper and fiery flying serpent, they will carry their riches upon the shoulders of young asses, and their treasures upon the bunches of camels, to a people that shall not profit them.
7For the Egyptians shall help in vain, and to no purpose: therefore have I cried concerning this, Their strength is to sit still.
8Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever:
9That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD:
10Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:
11Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.
12Wherefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel, Because ye despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and stay thereon:
13Therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking cometh suddenly at an instant.
14And he shall break it as the breaking of the potters' vessel that is broken in pieces; he shall not spare: so that there shall not be found in the bursting of it a sherd to take fire from the hearth, or to take water withal out of the pit.
15For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.
16But ye said, No; for we will flee upon horses; therefore shall ye flee: and, We will ride upon the swift; therefore shall they that pursue you be swift.
17One thousand shall flee at the rebuke of one; at the rebuke of five shall ye flee: till ye be left as a beacon upon the top of a mountain, and as an ensign on an hill.
18And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.
19For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more: he will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee.
20And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers:
21And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.
22Ye shall defile also the covering of thy graven images of silver, and the ornament of thy molten images of gold: thou shalt cast them away as a menstruous cloth; thou shalt say unto it, Get thee hence.
23Then shall he give the rain of thy seed, that thou shalt sow the ground withal; and bread of the increase of the earth, and it shall be fat and plenteous: in that day shall thy cattle feed in large pastures.
24The oxen likewise and the young asses that ear the ground shall eat clean provender, which hath been winnowed with the shovel and with the fan.
25And there shall be upon every high mountain, and upon every high hill, rivers and streams of waters in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.
26Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the LORD bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound.
27Behold, the name of the LORD cometh from far, burning with his anger, and the burden thereof is heavy: his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue as a devouring fire:
28And his breath, as an overflowing stream, shall reach to the midst of the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of vanity: and there shall be a bridle in the jaws of the people, causing them to err.
29Ye shall have a song, as in the night when a holy solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goeth with a pipe to come into the mountain of the LORD, to the mighty One of Israel.
30And the LORD shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall shew the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones.
31For through the voice of the LORD shall the Assyrian be beaten down, which smote with a rod.
32And in every place where the grounded staff shall pass, which the LORD shall lay upon him, it shall be with tabrets and harps: and in battles of shaking will he fight with it.
33For Tophet is ordained of old; yea, for the king it is prepared; he hath made it deep and large: the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath of the LORD, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it.

ALLIANCES FOR UNITY, PEACE AND SAFETY
Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein. Hebrew 13:9.
14Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
15And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
16And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
17Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
18And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. 2 Corinthians 6:14-18.
Here let it be known that the Lord Almighty, the God of Jacob calls all his children to come out from all religions where man is heeded rather than God. This means 'all', not only Catholic, also Jewish, Christian (this includes professed protestant/reformed apostate churches), Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Bahai, Mormon, Jehovah's Witness, etc. In essence, all that would follow men's opinions and traditions, rather than the clear instructions of the Holy Scriptures, with a 'Thus saith the Lord'.
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; 1 Peter 2:9
We are not to make alliances with unbelievers, or make concessions with those that do not honor God. Instead, we must flee from those groups, churches, organizations; And rather, be separate, holy unto the Lord. Ye can not serve God and Mammon. (Matthew 6:24, Luke 16:13).

PSALM 95
Psalm 95
1O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
2Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.
3For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.
4In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also.
5The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land.
6O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.
7For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice,
8Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
9When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work.
10Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways:
11Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest.
TO GOD BE THE GLORY (OGO N'F'OLUWA)
To God be the glory, great things He has done;
So loved He the world that He gave us His Son,
Who yielded His life an atonement for sin,
And opened the life gate that all may go in.
Refrain
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the earth hear His voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father, through Jesus the Son,
And give Him the glory, great things He has done.
O perfect redemption, the purchase of blood,
To every believer the promise of God;
The vilest offender who truly believes,
That moment from Jesus a pardon receives.
Refrain
Great things He has taught us, great things He has done,
And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son;
But purer, and higher, and greater will be
Our wonder, our transport, when Jesus we see.

THE OMEGA, SEPARATION, AND AN EIGHTH CHURCH
The Omega of Apostasy, Separation, and an Eighth Church
Sardis had Many Churches From Which Members Came out of to Form the Philadelphian Church
Consider the myriad number of churches comprising the Sardis era of the church circa 1844! Which one was Sardis? The truth of the matter was that all of them were Sardis. Did Ellen White say as much? Indeed:
"The names of the seven churches are symbolic of the church in different periods of the Christian Era. The number indicates completeness, and is symbolic of the fact that the messages [plural] extend to the end of time, while the symbols used reveal the condition of the church [collectively and generally] at different periods in the history of the world." E.G. White, The Acts of the Apostles,585.
Ellen White Said we Are Not Saved as a Sect or a Denomination
"We are not saved as a sect; no denominational name has any virtue to bring us into favor with God. We are saved individually as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. "And 'by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.' We may have our names recorded on th4e books of the most spiritual of the churches, and yet we may not belong to Christ, and our names may not be written on the Lamb's book of life." E.G. White, Review and Herald, vol. 2, 464.
If we are not saved as a sect and/or denominaiton, but as individuals, what significance would there be to any of the organized churches except to facilitate the gospel of truth to the world?
The above statement says that the number seven indicates completeness. We find that number as applied to seven women or seven churches in Isaiah 4:1-4. The correct interpretation of this passage is that the term seven women refers to all formally organzed churches at the end-time. Isaiah, chapters 1 thru four, are end-time in context. At the end-time, all formally organized churches will be doing their own thing; "eating their own bread," thank you!; their own doctrines, commandments, traditions, personal opinions etc., as opposed to the commandments of God. The "wearing of their own apparel," refers to their own code of what constitutes righteousness; their own robes of self-righteousness, instead of obedience to the commands of God. For example, they believe the Doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which God especially hates. That doctrine teaches that once has to only believe; only give lip service and prove nothing by works of faith. It teaches dead faith that is without works which prove valid faith. Works do not save, but as Ellen White said, works prove who is in a saved condition. Works of righteousness (obedience) are a self test to know whether or not we love God and the brethren, 1 John 5:2-5.
Ellen White Says That God Will Continue to Work on the Principle of Taking His Kingdom, His Church Away From Any People if they are Unfaithful to the Work of the Lord
"The Lord Jesus will always have a chosen people to serve Him. When the Jewish people rejected Chist, the Prince of life. He took from them the kingdom of God and gave it unto the Gentiles. God will continue to work on this principle with every branch of His work. When a church proves unfaithful to the work of the Lord, whatever their position may be, however high and sacred their calling, the Lord can no longer work with them. Others are then chosen to bear important responsibilities. But, if these in turn do not purify their lives from every wrong action, if they do not establish pure and holy principles in all their borders, then the Lord will grievously afflict and humble them and, unless they repent, will remove them from their place and make them a reproach.
God is not 'worshipped with men's hands, as tough he needed any thing' (Acts 17:25). E. G. White, The Upward Look, 131.
It is evident from the above statement that the professing SDA church could cease to be used of God, and be superceded by another group of separated faithful folk, without constituting an eighth church! God would not and could not "continue to work on the principle," if any potentiality along that line would constitute a church that should not exist according to Scripture! The same connotation is elicited by the following statements:
"We must as a people arouse and cleanse the camp of Israel. Licentiousness, unlawful intimacy, and unholy practices are coming in among us in a large degree...We are in danger of becoming a sister to fallen Babylon, of allowing our churches to become corrupted and filled with every foul spirit, a cage for every unclean and hateful bird, and will we be clear unless we make decided movements to cure the existing evil? E. G. White, Manuscript Releases No. 449, pp. 17, 18."If we turn from the testimony of God's word, and accept false doctrines [Calvinism] because our fathers taught them, we fall under the condemnation pronounced upon Babylon; we are drinking of the wine of her abominations." E. G White, The 1884 Great Controversy entitled Spirit of Prophecy, Vol. 4, 347, not to be confused with Testimonies, Vol. 4. The four volume Spirit of Prophecy series, can still be special ordered through any Adventist Book Store.

DIES DOMINI...THE RESEARCH CENTER
WHO WE ARE DIES DOMINI is a Catholic internet research center, dedicated to promoting an informed dialogue between Catholics and Seventh-day Adventists. As the Seventh-day Adventist Church extends its ministry across the globe, it advances many criticisms of the Catholic faith considered vital to its evangelistic program. Although Adventist theologians have devoted considerable time towards modernizing and refining these criticisms, no Catholic organ, lay or hierarchical, existed to counter them. Adventism's dynamic growth among predominately Catholic populations (e.g., in Latin America) underscores the need for true engagement between the two churches. Founded by former Adventists who have embraced the Catholic faith, DIES DOMINI strives to be the most sophisticated resource for members of both churches open to such a dialogue: exemplifying the twin values of academic honesty and scholarly precision. Primarily, the sites serves the needs of Catholics, providing them with the resources needed to intelligently articulate Catholic theoloogy in an Adventist context. Ultimately, the project seeks to promote a formal ecumenical discussion between the two communities, precluding future incidents of public misrepresentation. Our apostolate takes its name after the "Lord's day": the weekly festival of the resurrection. The sun in our logo represents the glory of Jesus of Christ (cf. Matt 17:2; Rev 1:16; Mal 4:2), who rose in triumph over death that Paschal morning. Our ministry's name also anticipates the eschatological "Day" of Jesus Christ, when all Christians will be united at last. PUTIN: US PLAN EVOKES '62 CUBAN CRISIS
Putin: US Plan Evokes '62 Cuban Crisis
Russia's President Vladimir Putin addresses journalists at the end of the EU/Russia summit in the library of the 18th century Mafra Palace Friday, Oct. 26 2007, in Mafra, north of Lisbon, Portugal. (AP Photo/Armando Franca)
By MIKE ECKEL – 2 hours ago
MAFRA, Portugal (AP) — President Vladimir Putin on Friday evoked one of the most dangerous confrontations of the Cold War to highlight Russian opposition to a proposed U.S. missile defense system in Europe, comparing it to the Cuban missile crisis of 45 years ago.
The comments — made at the end of a summit between Russia and European Union that failed to resolve several festering disputes — were the latest in a series of belligerent statements from the assertive Putin.
Emboldened by oil- and gas-fueled economic clout, Russia is increasingly at odds with Washington and much of Europe on issues ranging from Iran and Kosovo to energy supplies and human rights.
Putin used a news conference at the summit's conclusion to reiterate Russia's stalwart opposition to U.S. plans to put elements of a missile defense system in the former Soviet bloc countries of Poland and the Czech Republic — both of which are now NATO members.
"Analogous actions by the Soviet Union, when it deployed missiles in Cuba, prompted the 'Caribbean crisis,'" Putin said, using the Russian term for the Cuban missile crisis.
"For us the situation is technologically very similar. We have withdrawn the remains of our bases from Vietnam, from Cuba, and have liquidated everything there, while at our borders, such threats against our country are being created," he said.
The October 1962 crisis erupted when President John F. Kennedy demanded that Soviet leader Nikita S. Khrushchev remove his country's nuclear missiles from Cuba because they could have been used to launch a close-range attack on the United States. The Americans imposed a naval blockade on Cuba and the world teetered on the edge of war before the Soviets backed down.
Putin also suggested that the tension was much lower than in 1962 because the United States and Russia are now "partners," not Cold War enemies. His relationship with President Bush, Putin said, helps solve problems, calling him a "personal friend."
The Russian leader said there has been no concrete U.S. response to his counterproposals for cooperation on missile defense, but added that the United States is now listening to Russia's concerns about its plans and seeking to address them.
In Washington, White House press secretary Dana Perino underscored those remarks rather than the Cuban missile crisis analogy, saying "there's no way you could walk away without thinking that he thinks that we can work together."
The U.S. plan is part of a wider missile shield involving defenses in California and Alaska which the United States says are to defend against any long-range missile attack from countries such as North Korea or Iran.
Russia strongly opposes the idea, saying Iran is decades away from developing missile technology that could threaten Europe or North America, and it says the U.S. bases are aimed at spying on Russian facilities and undermining Russia's missile deterrent force.
State Department spokesman Sean McCormack told reporters there were "clear historical differences between our plans to deploy a defensive missile system designed to protect against launch of missiles from rogue states, such as Iran, and the offensive nuclear-tipped capability of the missiles that were being installed in Cuba back in the 1960s."
"I don't think that they are historically analogous in any way, shape or form," he said.
Turning to his future, Putin said he would not assume presidential powers if he became prime minister after finishing his term next May.
Putin is barred from seeking a third consecutive term in the March 2008 presidential election. But he suggested this month that he could become prime minister, leading to speculation that the substantial powers now invested in the presidency might be transferred to the prime minister.
"If someone thinks that I intend to move, let's say, into the government of the Russian Federation and transfer the fundamental powers there, that's not the case," Putin said. "There will be no infringement on the powers of the president of the Russian Federation, at least while it depends on me."
After repeating his insistence that he does not intend to change the constitution in order to run for a third term, Putin said he had not yet decided where and in what capacity he would work as former president. He is expected to remain an influential figure in Russia.
Putin will lead the ticket of the dominant United Russia party in December parliamentary elections. An overwhelming victory for the party could turn the legislature into a new power base for Putin and give him a claim to continued authority based on his popularity.
Putin traveled to Portugal, which holds the EU's rotating presidency, for talks with leaders of the 27-nation bloc. But despite a positive spin put on the meeting by Putin and EU President Jose Manuel Barroso — who called it "open, frank and productive" — the summit yielded no major breakthroughs.
The EU and Russia have been without a new cooperation agreement for more than a year, during which time doubts have grown in many European capitals about the reliability of Russia's energy supplies and trade policies toward EU member nations, such as Poland.
Topping the list of concerns is Russia's energy policy — the reliability of supplies and the intentions of state-run oil and gas companies. Russia already provides 30 percent of EU energy imports, including 44 percent of natural gas imports.
The state-controlled gas giant OAO Gazprom has recently moved to acquire assets in Europe and strike bilateral deals with some EU countries.
That has led the EU to consider new restrictions on non-EU companies owning majority stakes in gas pipelines or electricity power grids without additional agreements — much to the Russians' consternation.
Earlier, Putin tried to assure European leaders that Russian investment was not to be feared.
"When we hear in some countries phrases like, 'The Russians are coming with their scary money,' it sounds a bit funny," he said.
Associated Press Writer Barry Hatton in Mafra contributed to this report.

FEMA’S FAKE 'NEWS CONFERENCE'
Posted: Friday, October 26, 2007 2:12 PM by Domenico Montanaro
Categories: White House, 2008
From NBC’s Kelly O’Donnell
On Tuesday, FEMA held what was called a "news briefing" on the California fires, but the questions asked did not come from reporters. They were asked instead by FEMA staffers.
“It is not a practice that we would employ here at the White House or that we -- we certainly don't condone it,” Press Secretary Dana Perino said. “We didn't know about it beforehand. FEMA has issued an apology, saying that they had an error judgment when they were attempting to get out a lot of information to reporters, who were asking for answers to a variety of questions in regard to the wildfires in California. It's not something I would have condoned. And they, I'm sure, will not do it again.”
One reporter asked Perino who is responsible?
“Well, FEMA is responsible,” she said. “And they have accepted that responsibility, and they issued an apology today. They have admitted that they had an error in judgment. I would agree with that. They've issued an apology. And, you know, you'll have to ask them about why they decided to do that."
Why fake it? Apparently, the FEMA briefing was called with little lead-time and reporters didn't get there fast enough. Instead of acknowledging that reporters were not there they apparently pretended and even used the typical practice of calling a "last question."
The briefer, FEMA's Deputy Administrator Harvey Johnson, did not indicate that the questions were coming from staff who were in essence playing reporters. Six questions were asked and the phrasing and subject matter were not typical for a news briefing give and take.
Senior administration officials are looking into the matter and suggest the "intentions were good," but acknowledge that was not an appropriate "tactic."
The suggestion is that so many media questions had been coming in to FEMA and the briefing was a way to get information out. But instead of transparency, a senior FEMA official appears to have faked it.
Below are the actual questions and excerpted responses from Johnson:
QUESTION 1: What type of commodities are you pledging to California?
"So I think we're well ahead of the requirement and we'll be able to make sure that all the shelters that are stood up are, in fact, all sustained and have sufficient materials and quantities of commodities to make sure they meet the demand of the people who might seek shelter."
QUESTION 2: Sir, there are a number of reports that people weren't heeding evacuation orders and that was hindering emergency responders. Can you speak a little to that, please?
"So I think you're seeing more compliance and more conformance with expected norms of travel."
QUESTION 3: Can you address a little bit what it means to have the president issue an emergency declaration, as opposed to a major disaster declaration? What does that mean for FEMA?
"As an emergency declaration, it allows us to provide -- to open up the Stafford Act and to provide the full range of protective measures and all the things that they need now in order to address the fire, If the governor had asked for a major declaration, that would have talked about individual assistance and public assistance at greater levels. And at this point, the governor has not asked for that."
QUESTION 4: Sir, we understand the secretary and the administrator of FEMA are on their way out there. What is their objective? And is there anyone else traveling with them?
"..all the key leaders who are directing this effort and demonstrating a partnership through their effort will be out there at San Diego this afternoon. So I think it's a good demonstration of support, recognizing that our role is not to usurp the state but to support the state. And they'll demonstrate that by their presence."
[Off-camera voice asks for another question)
QUESTION 5: Are you happy with FEMA's response, so far?
"I'm very happy with FEMA's response so far. This is a FEMA and a federal government that's leaning forward, not waiting to react. And you have to be pretty pleased to see that."
[Staff voice off camera: Last question.]
QUESTION: What lessons learned from Katrina have been applied?
"I think what you're really seeing here is the benefit of experience, the benefit of good leadership and the benefit of good partnership; none of which were present in Katrina.
“So, I think, as a nation, people should sit up and take notice that you have the worst wildfire season in history in California and look at how well the state and local governments are performing, look at how well we're working together between state and federal partners."
Here's FEMA's statement from Vice Admiral Harvey Johnson:
STATEMENT
October 26, 2007
STATEMENT IN REGARDS TO FEMA'S TUESDAY PRESS BRIEFING
FEMA's goal is to get information out as soon as possible, and in trying to do so we made an error in judgment. Our intent was to provide useful information and be responsive to the many questions we have received. We are reviewing our press procedures and will make the changes necessary to ensure that all of our communications are straight forward and transparent.
At FEMA, our focus is disaster operations and, in this case, it means working closely with the State of California to support their response to the devastating fires. We're committed to being there for the State and being good partners. In working to do so we did not put enough focus on how we communicate to the public.
The real story -- how well the response and recovery elements are working in this disaster -- should not be lost because of how we tried to meet the needs of the media in distributing facts.
We can and must do better, and apologize for this error in judgment.
### END OF STATEMENT # # #
FEMA had given reporters about 15 minutes notice ahead of the conference.

911 AND OTHER OPTICAL ILLUSIONS
9/11 And Other Optical Illusions
by Peter Zaza
There's a wonderful optical illusion which involves a graphic of a ballerina spinning around on one leg. It's called "The Spinning Silhouette Optical Illusion"
This illusion elucidates a very important principle concerning subjective reality, and helps to illustrate a point about the vastly differing views people can hold about events such as 9/11. Some people who look at the spinning figure will first affirm that she is bouncing on her left leg while twirling in a clockwise direction. Others may avow that she is instead bouncing on her right leg and spinning in a counterclockwise direction. Indeed, you can have many people looking at this animated graphic at the same time and not agree as to what is happening. This idea is not really foreign to many people who have made the journey from one belief about 9/11 to its diametrical opposite.
First - we must try and deconstruct the illusion and find out what is going on. When you look at a silhouette of a figure it is not possible to determine if it is facing you, or facing away from you. There is no depth to the figure, it's just an outline - our Left/Right designation of what we visually perceive will set the stage for our belief of what follows. If the human cut-out is interpreted to be facing you then you will assume it is her left foot touching the ground, and vice versa if not. The information is not sufficient when viewing a black and white silhouette, our brain makes an assumption at first glance and then proceeds toward a logical eventuality based upon that assumption.
When you first look at the optical illusion you are subjected to your own implied interpretation. It's interesting to analyze our mindset while going through the entire process of discovery in figuring out this type of problem. I looked at it initially and told myself to concentrate on which leg she is bouncing on - I was sure it was the left, how could anyone doubt it - you can see it, can't you? You would have to be an idiot to think otherwise - anybody who does not see it must be a lunatic. But then something happens, there is a period of thought and analysis, and then a question of our belief. As we catch ourselves seeing the right leg touching and the figure rotating in the opposite direction, there arises doubt concerning our convictions. We come to the ultimate realization that we can be fooled, and it is embarrassing to admit that those assertions we would stake our lives upon, and the derision we feel toward those who do not agree with us, are after all only based upon an illusion.
"When you change the way you look at things - the things you look at change" - Wayne Dyer
It's just a trick - now I can look at the spinning figure and see it going either way - usually by focusing my attention below the dancer upon the movement of the shadow - yes, it's her left leg touching the ground while going clockwise, and yes it is also her right leg touching and she's going in the opposite direction. This understanding of the illusion cannot be achieved until we take the time to study it, as well as our part in viewing it. The key is an awareness of ourselves as witness to illusion that passes for reality, followed by a willingness to discover the nature of the phenomenon. One must in a sense step outside of oneself and watch the watcher. Now I'm ashamed that I could be so sure it was her left leg touching and everyone who disagreed must be stupid, moronic, unpatriotic, knees painted purple, whatever. If we do not take the time to study and understand the trick we will forever be stuck inside this reactive mindset that is subject to misdirection or assumption. Any guesses where I'm going with this?
Years went by and I believed it was the planes hitting the towers of the World Trade Center which caused them to fall. It's simple isn't it? It was those radical Muslim guys, wasn't it? And we should be afraid of them and hate them shouldn't we? NO - it's a lie. If you still believe these things it is because you have not educated yourself about the event and have based your opinions entirely upon what you've been told. Optical illusions are fun, and when we discover the trick we can understand that it is only a matter of subjective reality - both realities being true depending on how you look at it. It is not the same thing as a real world event like 9/11. Now we must look at physical objects and dynamic processes, and more to the point, we must consider the fact that thousands of people were mass-murdered on that day. Then we made war in Afghanistan and Iraq, then a few million more were killed and displaced, now we've got innocent people being tortured, shoes off at the airport, Department of Homeland Criminals . . .we could go on here for a bit. You owe it to yourself and your country to find out if there is any shred of evidence to support the assertions made by the 9/11 truth movement. This is much more than a mental exercise where we can train ourselves to believe both realities depending on interpretation. There is only one reality about 9/11 - yet we have two diametrically opposite belief systems about what happened. I'm telling you that if you still believe the official "conspiracy theory" about this tragedy, it is because you have not taken the time to educate yourself and study the event and realize the trickery being foisted upon you by the US government. Ask yourself how you would react if you found out that they were truly responsible, ask what you could do about it when the mainstream media is controlled by the same people involved, as is the Congress, the military, the courts.
"The individual is handicapped by coming face to face with a conspiracy so monstrous he cannot believe it exists" - J. Edgar Hoover
Jet fuel can't melt structural steel, molten metal does not appear unless there is sufficient explosive energy involved. Freefall speed cannot be achieved unless sufficient mass is removed as in controlled demolition. NORAD does not stand down unless directed. You do not remove and destroy evidence unless you are guilty of the crime. Gag orders are not issued unless you want the truth suppressed. Video tapes are not withheld unless you are lying. Patriot Acts are not made into laws unless you want to institute a fascist state...we could go on here for quite a while. Look at the answers I get from people when I bring up these points - they tell me I'm a moron, I'm not an engineer, etc. Thanks folks, you explained the melted steel really well with that answer, and you are obviously well-versed in the sciences AND classical literature, and let me help you along with your line of reasoning - I'm also overweight, I'm getting older, balder, blinder, etc. But none of this ad hominem stuff bespeaks to any of the central incongruities being raised. It only illustrates that you are in a certain stage of understanding about the event, and would rather get angry with the messenger instead of dealing with the message, and I'm still standing here trying to explain X. I've been in your spot and I've felt the same anger, I've looked at myself carrying erroneous baggage contrived by others to provoke me towards hatred, and I can understand the indignation of people who are disgusted at the 9/11 truth movement. Once, I felt exactly the same way they do. Until we receive factual information about what's going on, our first response is always going to be hostility against anyone who can't plainly see the spinning ballerina so obviously bouncing on her left leg going clockwise. That is the critical difference between myself then and now - information.
“Strange times are these in which we live when old and young are taught in falsehoods school. And the one man that dares to tell the truth is called at once a lunatic and fool” - Plato
I went to pick up my child from school the other day, and while waiting outside the classroom I looked at a big mural put together by the students. This bed sheet sized piece of folk art displayed a person's head in the middle, with all these circles around it containing one word messages like hope, understanding, curiosity, character. Inside the graphic head which occupied the centre were similar messages and aphorisms, obviously representing the dynamic of learning, growth and development, and all presented in the most positive and uplifting way. When my children were born I was awestruck with the miracle of creation and the sanctity of life. What happens to us? Why can I not feel that sense of wonder when considering most of the adults in this world? Moreover, if that mural in the school is really indicative of our society's values and its hopes for our young - why do we witness so much deceit and corruption by our political leaders and governmental institutions. Obviously, there is a lot that happens to us between that state of being newborn and becoming an adult.
"The moment a baby is born a collective effort is made to chain him to servile dependency on various beliefs. This is all the educational systems have ever done, and yet they say their aim is to liberate man. But what really happens is that a shrewd and subtle mental slavery slowly overtakes the mind of the individual. This system does not teach people how to think, it simply pumps them full of beliefs. It does not encourage doubt, it does not allow rebellion, and the products of such an educational system are usually unable to think for themselves" - osho
The ability to think for yourself is of paramount importance in this survival game. If you allow your opinions to be formed by society through the media, you will inexorably be led down a path of moral contradiction and unconscious collusion. Everybody I know who is "switched on" about the current situation has shut off their TV a long time ago. When you unplug yourself from the daily lies and misdirection there unfolds new possibilities for awareness - when you change the things you look at, you begin to redefine what is actually important and relevant in your life. It's a funny thing - when it comes to our personal computers we all have anti-virus programs as well as various other utilities for filtering out the steady barrage of trojans, worms, spyware and everything else that is constantly being thrown at us. We realize the importance of protecting ourselves from the harmful elements that might corrupt our personal computer - but what about our brain? What about the constant bombardment of garbage we are inundated with on a daily basis through network news, advertising, sitcoms and infotainment? One of the most significant things you can do to start the detoxification process in your life is to shut the TV off. Talk to a real person, read a book, go somewhere, build something, experience through your own senses instead of sitting there for hours at a time entertaining yourself in front of the CIA controlled electronic brain manipulator.
"Many persons have a wrong idea of what constitutes true happiness. It is not attained through self-gratification but through fidelity to a worthy purpose" - Helen Keller
There's something else that unifies many people I know within the 9/11 Truth movement. That is an awareness of a bigger reality of which 9/11 is only a part. Once you start down that road of inquiry and discovery it is truly a bumpy ride - layer upon layer of deceit and manipulation unfold until every precept we may have once held about our society and our role in it gets called into question. You begin to see a different side to many issues - it's like your new-found ability to look at the spinning ballerina both ways and understand that it is but a contrivance. You realize that certain people will purposefully manipulate the information we receive toward an agenda, only instead of being hidden, it is so blatantly obvious to you now.
The frog who lived in a well thought that his entire world consisted of the well, himself, and the portion of the sky that he was able to see from the bottom of his home. The frog bragged and felt very proud of his home in the well - the walls, the water, the mud and all of the lowly creatures it ruled over. One day, a sparrow flew down to the well and greeted the frog. The frog boasted to the sparrow of its grand kingdom. The sparrow looked down into the well and laughed. Then she told the frog about the sky, the earth and the vast span of water. She described the miles upon miles of deserts, the lush grasslands and endless mountains. After listening to these words, the frog in the well was shocked into realization of the things he was willing to see and hear in his own small world - Ancient parable
These malevolent forces that have set upon their task of controlling humanity have always been with us. As we widen the circle of our understanding through education and awareness, the circumference of darkness also increases as we begin to imagine what we do not know, but so does the sense of fulfillment in our lives as we engage our environment and affect change toward a more dignified realization of our humanity. I haven't met one person yet who is sorry they embarked upon that journey.

KATIE COURIC AND HER 'GO TO GUY'
Katie Couric (The Anchor), interviewed Richard Haass, current President of the 'ubiquitous' foreign policy organization, Council on Foreign Relations, also knows as, the CFR. Ms. Couric asked Mr. Haass, if he thought that an invasion of Iran could be foreseen. Haass responded that the U.S. didn't have the troops required for such an attack, however air attacks were highly probable.
Again, Ms. Couric resorts to a person that may not only have an opinion on what the U.S. Government might do; But, might actually be advising, if not direct this country's foreign policy, as its name(CFR) implies. Ms. Couric sure knows who to go to for a hot story. She miraculously goes to the source!

FRANCE MAY END SUNDAY TRADING CHARADE
France hints at end to Sunday trading charade
In a city that boasts the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower, a collection of furniture stores and factory outlets on an industrial estate hardly ranks as a significant tourist destination.
However, in order to circumvent a ban on Sunday trading, that was the label given to a dreary retail park in the northern suburbs of Paris, close to the equally-unlovely Charles de Gaulle airport. The Paris Nord 2 complex was classed as a hub of tourist activity in 2004 in order to allow tenants - including Ikea - to resist demands that they shut on Sunday.
Yet France's retailers may have less need of such sleight-of-hand in the future. The government says it might loosen the 101 year-old Sunday trading ban as one way of cheering up gloomy shoppers and accelerating economic growth.
Other measures to liberalise the highly-regulated retail sector are being prepared or mooted. Conscious that food prices are rising - and that consumers already feel poor - the government this week proposed legislation that would give supermarkets more leeway to discount, easing a de facto price control law that was supposed to protect small shops.
A commission asked by the government to suggest ways of spurring economic growth last week outlined other ways in which prices could be forced down and consumer spending encouraged.
Headed by Jacques Attali, the commission proposed that retailers should be allowed to sell items below cost - an idea that was shot down by Luc Chatel, the minister for consumers, who said it could undermine France's petits commerçants.
Much of the pressure for reform is coming from the industry itself. Ikea, Conforama and other furniture retailers are lobbying for a relaxation of the Sunday trading ban.
The stakes are high. Stores at Paris Nord 2 make 30-40 per cent of their weekly turnover on Sundays, says Vincent Bryche of the local mayor's office, which supports Sunday trading because it boosts local taxation and employment.
"Society has changed," says Djamel Belal, who represents traders in the factory outlet centre. People struggle to do all their shopping on weekdays and Saturdays, he says, arguing that since internet retailers are open seven days a week, traditional traders should be able to do the same.
Paris Nord 2 faces a fresh legal challenge over whether the flimsy tourist zone designation merits a blanket get-out. Other shops have had to work harder to open on Sundays: the Champs-Elysées branch of Louis Vuitton stuffed itself with art and argued that it was a cultural attraction.
But help could be at hand. On Tuesday, Mr Chatel said the government sympathised with out-of-town furniture retailers in the Paris region, who have come under attack from one union over Sunday trading. He said ministers would try to sort out this local "emergency" and consult on a broader loosening of the ban that could become law in 2008.
Opposition to any significant liberalisation would be loud, particularly from small shops and unions. But Conforama employees last month took to the streets in defence of seven-day opening, bearing a banner that read "No more Sundays = salaries in danger." Not all French workers want their traditional day of rest.
POLISH GOVERNMENT TO BAN SUNDAY BUYING
Warsaw, Oct. 25, 2007 (CWNews.com) - The Civic Platform Party (PO), which has emerged victorious from Poland’s parliamentary elections, plans to overturn legislation enacted by the outgoing Law and Justice Party banning shopping on holidays.
Zbigniew Chiebowski, a PO parliamentarian who has been touted as a possible finance minister in the new government, explained, “People have to make a choice. Whoever wants to, let them shop on holidays. Whoever doesn’t, let them stay home.”
The legislation against holiday shopping is scheduled to go into effect on November 1, for the feast of All Saints. The law also forbids forbids shopping on New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Pentecost Sunday, the feast of Corpus Christi, the feast of the Assumption, November 11 (Poland’s Independence Day), and Christmas Day.
The ban was passed by the outgoing government with the support of all other major political parties, except the PO, which has a strong free-market orientation. The legislation was also supported by labor unions, although it was opposed by retailers. A representative of Poland’s Solidarity labor union, Alfred Bujara, said that workers might strike if they believe the new government is acting against their interests. He added: “I want to know if PO is acting in favor of Polish interests or in favor of those of Western European chain store retailers.”
Ironically November 1-- the day when the new law would go into effect-- is also the day when the PO is expected to announce the formation of a new government. The Civic Platform Party is in the midst of coalition talks with the post-communist Polish People’s Party (PSL). One PSL parliamentarian and economics expert, Marek Sawicki, said, “On holidays, people want to rest.”

HEBREWS 13
Hebrews 13
1Let brotherly love continue.
2Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
3Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.
4Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
5Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
6So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
7Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.
8Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
9Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.
10We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle.
11For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp.
12Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.
13Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.
14For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.
15By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
16But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
17Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.
18Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.
19But I beseech you the rather to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.
20Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
21Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
22And I beseech you, brethren, suffer the word of exhortation: for I have written a letter unto you in few words.
23Know ye that our brother Timothy is set at liberty; with whom, if he come shortly, I will see you.
24Salute all them that have the rule over you, and all the saints. They of Italy salute you.
25Grace be with you all. Amen.
