The Lord Is Our Only Refuge

Psalm 62

1Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.

2He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.

3How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.

4They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.

5My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

6He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.

7In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

8Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

9Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.

10Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.

11God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.

12Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.

Lawmakers embrace Madness

Lawmakers embrace Madness
By Jordy Yager

Posted: 03/18/09 08:29 PM [ET]

Shortly after noon on Thursday, productivity around the nation will dip for a few hours as millions tune into this year’s NCAA men’s basketball tournament — and lawmakers seem in agreement that their staffs are not immune to March Madness.

Yes, the nation’s economy is roiling. Congressional staffers are clocking 12-hour days in an attempt to blunt the crisis. But come on — this is arguably the best sports weekend after the Super Bowl. And it is easily among the more acceptable excuses for blowing off a little work.

Lawmakers generally say they are willing to turn a blind eye and let staff watch, as long as the work ultimately gets done.

“I would be amazed if my staff bothered to ask permission and disappointed if they didn’t seize the opportunity to keep an eye first and foremost on the University of Oklahoma,” said Rep. Tom Cole (R-Okla.). “But as long as they get their work done, I would turn a blind eye.”

The NCAA has joined with CBS College Sports again this year to provide free online streaming of all the tournament games, so a pair of headphones and a deft hand on the mouse can make this less conspicuous than the old-school distraction of an office-full of aides huddling around a television.

Of course, Cole’s aides had better be rooting for the second-seeded University of Oklahoma, which plays its first game Thursday evening.

The sixth-seeded University of California-Los Angeles, which lies in Rep. Henry Waxman’s (D) district, plays Thursday evening as well. Waxman said considering how much his staff has worked on measures like the economic stimulus package, he’s fine with letting them watch the games.

“I don’t expect my staff to come to me with questions about every moment they spend working,” he said. “I expect them to do their jobs, and if they follow some event or news story or sports story, I leave that up to them. My staff puts in long hours and into the weekends, so if they watch a basketball game, I won’t be too upset.”

But what about the added Web traffic? Nearly 5 million people tuned in to watch online last year, clocking about 5 million hours of streaming video.

In September, as the House considered passing a Wall Street bailout measure, constituents e-mailed their members so much that the House Web servers slowed and the Chief Administrative Office (CAO) limited the amount of incoming e-mail. The House has since upgraded its Web servers and has not experienced any stoppages since.

A spokesman for the CAO declined to comment on whether online viewership of the tournament will slow the servers.

Not everyone is eager to let his or her staff watch the college basketball games, which run through April 6.

“Why would I let my staff watch the games if I can’t watch them? If I miss them, then my staff has to miss them, too,” said Rep. Artur Davis (D-Ala.).

“Maybe there’ll be some late votes in the next few weeks and we can all watch them together.”

Before Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) lets his staff partake, he plans to gauge interest and make sure it doesn’t violate House rules.

“Before I can give a definitive answer, I’d have to talk to [the] ethics [committee] to see that it’s done within whatever the constraints of the rules are, and I’d have to find out if my staff was interested,” said Green.

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) also has reservations, but not necessarily with the ethical ramifications of watching the games. She’d rather walk the line of maintaining productivity at work and rooting for the right team.

“As a senior member of the Judiciary Committee I’m a lover of the First Amendment, freedom of expression, freedom of choice,” she said. “I hope that they will take advantage of the idea of streaming it for future use. It’s such an exciting time, I can’t imagine that they don’t want to see it.

“I hope they will serve the American public as they enjoy March Madness. However they’re able to serve the American public while they enjoy March Madness, I’m OK, as long as they’re rooting for Texas teams.”
Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), ranking member of the Budget Committee, said his office staff can watch, but not his committee staff.

“They always do the office pool, and if they stay productive, I’d allow [them to watch],” Ryan said of his office staff. “But my Budget Committee staff won’t be able to watch — we’re just too busy.”

Treasury Secretary Facing a Defining Moment

Doug Mills/The New York Times
Timothy F. Geithner finds his plate is more than full.

By JACKIE CALMES
Published: March 18, 2009

WASHINGTON — All three of President Obama’s top economic advisers were on message when they appeared Sunday on separate television talk shows. Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner, they said, had concluded, based on lawyers’ advice, that he could not stop the $165 million in bonuses that the American International Group was even then doling out to hundreds of employees.

But when Mr. Geithner and other officials met at the White House that night, the president’s political advisers — who had agreed to the day’s message — decided the growing outcry left Mr. Obama no choice but to publicly second-guess his Treasury secretary.

The next morning on camera, the president said he had directed Mr. Geithner to find a legal way “to block these bonuses and make the American taxpayers whole.”

Thus began perhaps the worst week in a string of bad weeks for the Treasury secretary. The mixed messages on A.I.G. gave further ammunition to critics who had begun questioning Mr. Geithner’s credibility as the administration’s point man on the economy, an essential commodity if he is to help restore consumer confidence.

Fair or not, questions about why Mr. Geithner did not know sooner about the A.I.G. bonuses and act to stop them threaten to overwhelm his achievements and undermine Mr. Obama’s overall economic agenda. The controversy comes as Mr. Geithner is about to announce details of the restructured bank rescue program, and it clouds prospects for more rescue funds that the administration is all but certain to need.

The once-heralded Wall Street credentials of Mr. Geithner, formerly the president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, were already marred by false starts in revamping the Bush administration’s bank rescue program, even as his perceived closeness to financiers and unease with populist politics left Main Street skeptical.

On Wednesday, a junior Republican in Congress and some traders on Wall Street went so far as to call for him to quit or be fired. The Republican leader of the House, Representative John A. Boehner of Ohio, told a conservative talk-radio host that the secretary is “on thin ice.”

But Mr. Geithner’s boss, the president, interjected a vote of “complete confidence.”

“Tim Geithner didn’t draft these contracts with A.I.G.,” Mr. Obama told reporters on the White House lawn as he left for California on Wednesday. “There has never been a secretary of the Treasury, except maybe Alexander Hamilton right after the Revolutionary War, who’s had to deal with the multiplicity of issues that Secretary Geithner is having to deal with — all at the same time.”

“He is making all the right moves in terms of playing a bad hand,” the president continued. “And what we need to be doing is making sure that we are providing him the support that he needs.”

Mr. Geithner is shouldering more crises on his slight frame than most Treasury secretaries ever have. And he is doing so without the usual complement of Treasury assistants because of administration delays in vetting potential nominees — a consequence in part of its efforts to avoid embarrassments like the disclosures of Mr. Geithner’s past tax lapses, which nearly doomed his nomination.

Since before his confirmation in late January, Mr. Geithner has juggled a crushing workload: overhauling the Bush administration’s discredited financial bailout program; helping with Mr. Obama’s nearly $800 billion economic stimulus plan; and managing the government effort to salvage the auto industry.

Mr. Geithner is now fashioning a new federal regulatory structure for the financial industry to replace the one that failed. He has developed a housing program that aims to avert up to nine million more foreclosures, and programs for getting credit flowing to small businesses and consumers as well as the major financial giants.

At 47, the same age as the president, Mr. Geithner works out at 5:30 a.m., gets to his desk by 6:30 and leaves 15 hours later.

On Tuesday last week, as he prepared for a meeting in London of the finance ministers of the Group of 20 nations, Mr. Geithner learned that A.I.G. by Sunday would send out the bonuses to employees at its financial products unit, which developed the risky derivatives now blamed for the global credit crisis.

With few senior political appointees on hand, the word came from one of the numerous career civil servants who keep the Treasury functioning through changes of administration, according to an official.

Mr. Geithner consulted lawyers. They told him the government could not override the contracts that the insurance conglomerate had signed in early 2008, when its financial products unit already was fast losing money.

On Wednesday evening, Mr. Geithner called A.I.G.’s government-appointed chief executive, Edward M. Liddy, and demanded that he renegotiate payments. The next morning, Mr. Geithner informed White House advisers. Later that day a senior adviser, David Axelrod, informed the president.

On Friday, Mr. Liddy said he could not block the bonuses; he did agree to reduce future executive bonuses set for July 15 and Sept. 15. With Mr. Geithner in London, Treasury officials tried to manage the potential criticism by leaking word to selected news media on Saturday. On Sunday, the economic advisers went on TV.

The A.I.G. tempest has been especially explosive for Mr. Geithner because, as president of the New York Fed, he was the one administration official who had been involved in the Bush-era bailouts.

Once A.I.G. was under the Fed’s control, its executive compensation plans hardly came up, according to officials.

For all the furor, “ultimately we will all be judged by whether we get out of this economic mess,” said Senator Charles E. Schumer, Democrat of New York, “and Tim, with his intelligence, experience and dedication is the best guy to get us out.”

PDD 25 - a coup d' etat in American government

From the desk of Daniel D. New

PDD 25 - a coup d' etat in American government
by Daniel New

In 1994, President William Clinton authorized himself to place American soldiers under United Nations control by a completely new set of rules. Because he knew that this radical and unconstitutional policy would bring about demands for his impeachment, he then classified the document, so that not even your Senator or Representative in Congress can read it! Indeed, Madeleine Albright argued before a Congressional hearing that it was an "Executive Branch document" and, "...in order to preserve the Constitutional balance of powers between the branches of government," it would not be made available to them. And they accepted that answer!!!!

The difficulty in situations like this is in knowing where to start with the impeachments.

The government did release a "public version" (available at http://mikenew.com/pdd25.html), which is a fluff piece. Alleging to be a condensation, it is actually several pages longer than the original. Here is the government's own summary of Presidential Decision Directive #25.

When Army Specialist Michael New requested to see the legal basis for the order for him to wear a United Nations uniform, his officers informed him that it was based upon PDD 25. When he asked to see it, they informed him, "No, you cannot see it. It is classified. You will just have to trust us." Michael New laughed out loud, and said, "What is this? The Soviet Union? You can't just make up secret laws, then put people in jail for not obeying them!" Ah, but they can.

====================================

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The Clinton Administration's Policy on Reforming Multilateral Peace Operations

Last year, President Clinton ordered an inter-agency review of our nation's peacekeeping policies and programs in order to develop a comprehensive policy framework suited to the realities of the post-Cold War period. This policy review has resulted in a Presidential Decision Directive (PDD). The President signed this directive, following the completion of extensive consultations with Members of Congress. This paper summarizes the key elements of that directive.

As specified in the "Bottom-Up Review," the primary mission of the U.S. Armed Forces remains to be prepared to fight and win nearly two simultaneous regional conflicts. In this context, peacekeeping can be one useful tool to help prevent and resolve such conflicts before they pose direct threats to our national security. Peacekeeping can also serve U.S. interests by promoting democracy, regional security, and economic growth.

The policy directive (PDD) addresses six major issues of reform and improvement:

1. Making disciplined and coherent choices about which peace operations to support -- both when we vote in the Security Council for UN peace operations and when we participate in such operations with U.S. troops.

-- To achieve this goal, the policy directive sets forth three increasingly rigorous standards of review for U.S. support for or participation in peace operations, with the most stringent applying to U.S. participation in missions that may involve combat. The policy directive affirms that peacekeeping can be a useful tool for advancing U.S. national security interests in some circumstances, but both U.S. and UN involvement in peacekeeping must be selective and more effective.

2. Reducing U.S. costs for UN peace operations, both the percentage our nation pays for each operation and the cost of the operations themselves.

-- To achieve this goal, the policy directive orders that we work to reduce our peacekeeping assessment percentage from the current 31.7% to 25% by January 1, 1996, and proposes a number of specific steps to reduce the cost of UN peace operations.

3. Defining clearly our policy regarding the command and control of American military forces in UN peace operations.

-- The policy directive underscores the fact that the President will never relinquish command of U.S. forces. However, as Commander-in- Chief, the President has the authority to place U.S. forces under the operational control of a foreign commander when doing so serves American security interests, just as American leaders have done numerous times since the Revolutionary War, including in Operation Desert Storm.
-- The greater the anticipated U.S. military role, the less likely it will be that the U.S. will agree to have a UN commander exercise overall operational control over U.S. forces. Any large scale participation of U.S. forces in a major peace enforcement operation that is likely to involve combat should ordinarily be conducted under U.S. command and operational control or through competent regional organizations such as NATO or ad hoc coalitions.

4. Reforming and improving the UN's capability to manage peace operations.

-- The policy recommends 11 steps to strengthen UN management of peace operations and directs U.S. support for strengthening the UN's planning, logistics, information and command and control capabilities.

5. Improving the way the U.S. government manages and funds peace operations.

-- The policy directive creates a new "shared responsibility" approach to managing and funding UN peace operations within the U.S. Government. Under this approach, the Department of Defense will take lead management and funding responsibility for those UN operations that involve U.S. combat units and those that are likely to involve combat, whether or not U.S. troops are involved. This approach will ensure that military expertise is brought to bear on those operations that have a significant military component.

-- The State Department will retain lead management and funding responsibility for traditional peacekeeping operations that do not involve U.S. combat units. In all cases, the State Department remains responsible for the conduct of diplomacy and instructions to embassies and our UN Mission in New York.

6. Creating better forms of cooperation between the Executive, the Congress and the American public on peace operations.

-- The policy directive sets out seven proposals for increasing and regularizing the flow of information and consultation between the executive branch and Congress; the President believes U.S. support for and participation in UN peace operations can only succeed over the long term with the bipartisan support of Congress and the American people.

When the president of the United States takes it upon himself to authorize himself to do anything, outside the authority of the Constitution (the document he took an oath to support and defend), it can only be regarded as an act of rebellion to the rule of Law, an act of Tyranny, and an act of dictatorship.

Then Chairman of the Armed Forces Committee of the House, Bob Dornan, was shocked when I told him about PDD 25, in 1996. We were sitting in a restaurant at Tyson's Corner, near Alexandria, Virginia. He almost choked. The he said, "By God, I can get that document!" Then he turned to his aide and said, "You get that document on my desk, by tomorrow, if at all possible." His aide made a note. And not another sputter came from Bob Dornan or his office on the subject. Upon inquiry, all we could learn was that, "The document is not available."

The White House may make all the noise it likes about the difference in "operational control" and "command control", but when all is said and done, it is an act of sophistry. The terms are not recognized by the Constitution, and a sad day it is that we have to remind the president that we are a nation under that Constitution, not merely under the whims of a political hack. When our government leaders decide that the Constitution is out of date, (as did Speaker Dennis Hastert, when he gavelled down Rep. Ron Paul on the question of a declaration of war in Iraq), then we have government that has run amok, and will always find ourselves in untenable foreign policy situations that may please the crowds back home, for a while, but are outside the legal bounds of what we can do. Contrary to the popular mindset today, it is not true that "rules were made to be broken."

If the Guardians of the Gate do not do their duty, what happens? Two things are predictable. First, those in authority will begin to assume more and more power to themselves, ignoring those who object, because they have leaders above them who are doing the same thing. This results in tyranny. The other is that the People acquire a disrespect for law and order, because those who are supposed to enforce it are actually running roughshod over it. Historically, this creates a breakdown in law and order, and tends to lead toward the most unpleasant and dangerous mentality of revolution.

For these reasons, it is imperative that we expose the abuse of power that occurs, no matter how high the office where it is found, and reprimand or discipline those who commit such acts.

The first step in this process is for Congress to demand to see the original document, Presidential Decision Directive #25, and all other classified Executive Orders, and if necessary, for either Congress or the courts to revoke them. If a court needs to decide if national security might be threatened, that would be understandable, but if the court decides to provide legal cover to support a political agenda, then it is all over for this nation as a Republic. We may well survive for centuries as an Empire, but it won't be the same. What am I saying?! It's already not the same!!

When President Bill Clinton invoked PDD 25 with the stroke of a pen, he pulled off a coup d'etat and Congress snored. President George W. Bush, who could revoke PDD 25 with the stroke of a pen, has ignored the subject, and leaves PDD 25 in place for future presidents to use as precedent for further eroding the foundations of our constitutional republic.

The same can be said for a People who continue to elect senators and representatives who care nothing about the Constitution that they take an oath to support and defend, and who know so little about it that they could not protect it if they wanted to. They have no clue what it says, much less what it means.

ARMED AND DANGEROUS
Fear and loathing in Kingsville, Texas
Local residents fuming over Army live-fire exercise

A group of Kingsville, Texas, citizens now plan to pursue action against their city for permitting the Army to use live ammunition during an exercise in their town known as Operation Last Dance.
Angry citizens are expected to crowd the next city council and county commission meetings, both scheduled to be held Feb. 22. At least one citizen is looking into legal action.

Back door to building blasted open.

Some residents said they were terrified when helicopters swooped into town from the Army Special Operations Command, Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, last Monday night. One helicopter hit a telephone pole, which started a fire and horrified residents who saw it happen.

At least eight helicopters are reported to have participated in an assault exercise using live ammunition and explosives very close to innocent bystanders who were not warned of the planned action.

Fire officials confirmed that they responded to the resulting fire, but had no warning that the exercise would take place. They were also summoned to put out a building fire caused by explosions set off during the exercise.

It has since been learned from military sources that the actual group involved in the exercise is known as the Night Stalkers, an elite group from the Delta Force. They are trained to conduct assassination missions, according to several retired military officers who had served in various special operations assignments.

The Army Special Operations Command at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, has acknowledged that the event was the kick-off of a series of similar training operations going on in Kingsville, Corpus Christi and Fort Sam Houston, but would not confirm that the group was the Night Stalkers. Additional training events have been confirmed in the area.

Austin radio station talk show host Alex Jones went to Kingsville to investigate for WorldNetDaily. He arrived just in time to find work crews covering up the evidence of the extensive damage caused by the exercise.

A former police station and an old Exxon office building were nearly destroyed. Evidence of bullet holes in walls, explosions from grenades, and other explosive charges could be seen. Fire damage was also extensive in at least one of the buildings.

Lt. Judy Hayes, 3rd in command at Kingsville Police Department
"There was a joint training session between the United States Army and the Kingsville Police Department," Lt. Judy Hayes, third in command at the Kingsville police told Jones.

"The Army was doing some sort of extraction type thing. They used eight helicopters. Our training involved sealing off the area, as if we were involved in taking care of a hazardous materials type incident. We were rerouting traffic and making sure there was no civilian foot traffic in the area. So we got quite a bit of training in that area.

"The only participation on the part of the Kingsville Police Department was in a hazardous materials training session. We did not participate in any way with what the Army was doing," insisted Hayes.

Throughout the interview with Jones, two men in black SWAT team uniforms stood behind her. Jones believes it was an attempt to intimidate him.

The Kingsville Fire Department was not given notice of the exercise, and it was not invited to participate in the alleged hazardous materials training, even though it would be called in if there were a real even of that kind.

The fire department spokesman claimed officials were not aware of the event until they were called to respond to the telephone pole fire and the fire at the former police station.

An elderly lady who lives in an apartment across from where the exercise took place told Jones that she was frightened to death and crying. She was sitting on a bench in full view of the area where the helicopters first appeared and where all the shooting took place.

"I sit on the bench, and then I get scared because the noise. It was so terrible and too loud, you know. They were throwing some bombs. I think they were using some rifles too, and the other kind of rifles that go pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, you know," said the elderly woman, identified only as Gracie.

She described seeing many black helicopters with men in black coming out of them. She heard explosions and apparently machine gun fire. She said it lasted at least two hours.

"I was so scared I went back to my apartment, but I could still hear the noise," Gracie said. She said she was so scared that she cried and her heart hurt. She said no one warned her or came to tell her what was going on.

Business owners are also complaining. The police claim they warned businesses in the area of the exercise in advance. If they did, WorldNetDaily was unable to find any that would confirm that. The businesses in the area that were open at the time of the exercise had no idea what was going on.

A former police chief and former city council member have expressed dismay over the incident and are contemplating filing an official complaint.

Police Chief Philipe Garza was appointed to his position even though he did not have the required training. He is currently under investigation for police brutality and abuse.

Police Chief Philipe Garza has been the object of a number of investigations lately. Currently the U.S. Department of Justice has been asked to investigate accusations of police abuse. Several residents, who did not wish to be identified, claim that Garza is very abusive with citizens and rules by intimidation.

Garza claims there are very few complaints from residents of Kingsville. He says the only complaints are coming from people in other parts of the country.

The head of emergency management for Kingsville is the Federal Emergency Management Agency coordinator Tomas Sanchez. He is a highly decorated Navy veteran, wounded in Vietnam and retired after 30 years of service. He now continues to serve as the head of the military police unit of the Texas State Guard, which is under the National Guard.

Sanchez has had extensive experience and training in special operations, and he expressed deep concern to WorldNetDaily about events in Kingsville. He was asked what was the purpose of the exercise. He said the plan involved a scenario that required military action because local police could not deal with civilians effectively.

"Martial law has been declared through presidential powers and war powers act, and some citizens have refused to give up their weapons. They have taken over two of the buildings in Kingsville. The police cannot handle it. So you call these guys in. They show up and they zap everybody, take all the weapons, and let the local P.D. clean it up," described Sanchez of the scenario the Night Stalkers were likely given.

Sanchez says the military exercise in his town was illegal under the Posse Comitatus Act, but he says that Presidential Decision Directive 25 has given an exception to Special Operations. He believes the men involved have total immunity from any legal action against them. Although PDD 25 is top secret, Sanchez has seen it because of his position with FEMA, and he has a security clearance. He would not provide a copy to WorldNetDaily.

"Some folks are talking about seeking some legal counsel. Some are asking for the crisis incident stress management counseling. They would like to see some of that," said Sanchez.

Shell casing used by Night Stalkers to blast their way through doors.
"When the helos are right above the rooftop, and the windows are vibrating, and people are ducking under the bed, and so on and so forth, they need that," he explained.

Sanchez was able to locate some of the helicopters and some of the soldiers used in Operation Last Dance. He decided to take a drive to the Corpus Christi Naval Air Station and the Corpus Christi Army Depot where all the helicopters are given maintenance.

"Parked between hanger 45 and 46 on the tarmac were four Blackhawk, no marking, helicopters. They've got it all blocked off with a chain link fence that says ID card required to gain access. No security guard. One can drive up close enough to look through the fence and see the Blackhawk helocopters. Only four of them were parked there," said Sanchez of his findings.

He said the men involved are most likely staying at the bachelor- enlisted quarters, which is a three-story barracks building. Some of the men have been observed eating in a fast food restaurant right near the bachelor-enlisted quarters.

"You can always tell these guys because even when they put on civilian clothes they still look like Army Rangers. White sidewalls we call it. Short crew cut," Sanchez explained.

Pope in Africa says church must help the poor

YAOUNDE, Cameroon -Pope Benedict XVI urged Cameroon's bishops Wednesday to defend the traditional African family from the dangers of modernity and secularization and to spare the poor from the impact of globalization.

On his first African pilgrimage, Benedict also called it the duty of all Christians — particularly those with political and economic responsibilities — to contribute to the building of a "more just world where everyone can live with dignity."

The pope met with Cameroon President Paul Biya, one of Africa's longest-ruling strongmen, who has been in power since 1982 and recently was accused by the Amnesty International rights organization of seeking to crush political opposition.

No details of the meeting at the presidential palace were immediately given.

The newspaper Le Jour carried a front-page interview with Cameroon Cardinal Christian Tumi asking Biya not to run again in 2011.
From the presidential palace, Benedict was driven to Christ the King Church to speak to Cameroon's 31 bishops and set down their mission.
Benedict said that while the Catholic church in Africa is the fastest growing in the world, it faces competition from increasingly popular evangelical movements and "the growing influence of superstitious forms of religion."

The German-born pope also said that the exuberant local African rites should not "obstruct" the liturgy of the Mass.

And he spoke of the needs of the poor.

"In the context of globalization with which we are all familiar, the church takes a particular interest in those who are most deprived," he said. "The bishop's mission leads him to be the defender of the rights of the poor."
He also worried about the impact of modernity and secularization on the traditional African family, telling the bishops to promote the understanding that marriage is indissoluble.

The meeting with the bishops had long been planned for the cathedral in Yaounde, but construction there has not been finished, amid allegations in the local media that the funds set aside were embezzled by clergy.
Vatican spokesman the Rev. Federico Lombardi said he was aware of reports that the funds were missing but had no comment.

On the second day of his African trip, the pope was facing criticism over comments he made Tuesday about condom use and the fight against AIDS. Benedict said the distribution of condoms is not the answer, and that, "on the contrary, it increases the problem."

UNAIDS, the U.N. agency charged with fighting the disease, said Wednesday in Geneva that condoms were an important part of efforts to combat AIDS.

France— a traditionally Roman Catholic country — said it was worried by the possible consequences of the pope's words. "We consider that these statements endanger public health policies and the imperative to protect human life," French Foreign Ministry spokesman Eric Chevallier said.
In a briefing to reporters, Lombardi noted the pope was expressing a long-standing Vatican position. He said Benedict wanted to stress that a reliance on condoms distracted from the need for proper education in sexual conduct.

The pontiff is on a weeklong pilgrimage to Africa that also includes a visit to Angola later this week.

Missouri State Police Think You And I Are Terrorists

March 17, 2009

Thanks to a concerned Missouri state policeman, a nationally syndicated radio talk show host stated that he was alerted last week to a secret Missouri state police report that categorized supporters of Congressman Ron Paul, Bob Barr, and myself as "'militia' influenced terrorists." The report, he said, "instructs the Missouri police to be on the lookout for supporters displaying bumper stickers and other paraphernalia associated with the Constitutional, Campaign for Liberty, and Libertarian parties."

Ignoring the threat of Muslim terrorists, the Missouri Information Analysis Center (MIAC) report focuses on the so-called "militia movement" and "conflates it with supporters of Ron Paul, Chuck Baldwin, Bob Barr, the so-called patriot movement and other political activist organizations opposed to the North American Union and the New World Order."

This report is not original, of course. During the Clinton administration, a Phoenix Federal Bureau of Investigation and Joint Terrorism Task Force explicitly designated "defenders" of the Constitution as "right-wing extremists." However, the MIAC report significantly expands on earlier documents and is the first known document to actually name names.

According to the MIAC, opposition to world government, NAFTA, federalization of the states, and restrictive gun laws are a potential threat to the police. The MIAC report also refers to Aaron Russo's film, "America: Freedom to Fascism."

The story exposing the MIAC report states, "The MIAC report is particularly pernicious because it indoctrinates Missouri law enforcement in the belief that people who oppose confiscatory taxation, believe in the well-documented existence of a New World Order and world government (a Google search of this phrase will pull up numerous references made by scores of establishment political leaders), and are opposed to the obvious expansion of the federal government at the expense of the states as violent extremists who are gunning for the police. It specifically targets supporters of mainstream political candidates and encourages police officers to consider them dangerous terrorists."

See the report here:
http://www.infowars.com/secret-state-police-report-ron-paul-bob-barr-chuck-baldwin-libertarians-are-terrorists/

The Columbia Daily Tribune also carried the story last Saturday. It quoted Missouri resident Tim Neal of Miller County. "When Neal read the report, he couldn't help but think it described him. A military veteran and a delegate to the 2008 Missouri Republican state convention, he didn't appreciate being lumped in with groups like the Neo-Nazis.

"'I was going down the list and thinking, "Check, that's me,"' he said. 'I'm a Ron Paul supporter, check. I talk about the North American union, check. I've got the "America: Freedom to Fascism" video loaned out to somebody right now. So that means I'm a domestic terrorist? Because I've got a video about the Federal Reserve?'"

The Tribune's report also acknowledges, "The [MIAC] report's most controversial passage states that militia 'most commonly associate with third-party political groups' and support presidential candidates such as Ron Paul, former Constitutional [sic] Party candidate Chuck Baldwin and Bob Barr, the Libertarian candidate last year."

The Tribune report also said, "Neal, who has a Ron Paul bumper sticker on his car, said the next time he is pulled over by a police officer, he won't know whether it's because he was speeding or because of his political views."

See the Columbia Tribune report here:
http://www.columbiatribune.com/news/2009/mar/14/fusion-center-data-draws-fire-over-assertions/

I realize that there are people who will dismiss this kind of story as insignificant. They shouldn't. This is very serious and should be treated as such. Anyone who knows anything at all about history knows that before a state or national government can persecute--and commit acts of violence against--a group of people, they must first marginalize the group from society's mainstream and categorize it as dangerous.

Rome did exactly that to Christians, as did Mao's China; Hitler's Germany did the same thing to Jews; Stalin's Russia did the same thing to political dissenters, etc. That a State police agency in America would actually infer that people who supported Ron Paul, Bob Barr, or myself in a political campaign are somehow indistinguishable from violence-prone "militias" is beyond insulting: it is a smear campaign, and might should even be regarded as a hate crime!

Beyond that, the MIAC report paints with a very broad brush. In addition to supporting Ron Paul, Bob Barr, or myself, a review of the report reveals that opposition to any of the following risks someone being classified as a potential "domestic terrorist":

The New World Order
The United Nations
Gun Control
The violation of Posse Comitatus
The Federal Reserve
The Income Tax
The Ammunition Accountability Act
A possible Constitutional Convention (Con Con)
The North American Union
Universal Service Program
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)
Abortion on demand
Illegal Immigration

Again, if you oppose any of the above, or if you supported Ron Paul, Bob Barr, or myself, you risk being labeled a "domestic terrorist," according to the MIAC.

Do you not see how dangerous this kind of slanderous labeling can become? It could affect your flight status when you try to board an airline. It could affect your application for sensitive jobs. It could affect your adjudication before a court or judge. It could make you a target for aggressive law enforcement strategies. It could affect your being able to obtain a passport. It could affect one's ability to purchase a firearm or receive a State concealed weapon permit.

This is very serious business! We are not talking about private opinions. We are talking about law enforcement agencies. And remember, most law enforcement agencies share these types of reports; therefore, how many other state police agencies have similar reports floating around? Probably several. Plus, how do we know that this report was not influenced by federal police agencies? We don't.

Rest assured, I do not plan to take this lying down. As one who is personally named in the above report, I demand a public retraction and apology from the MIAC and Missouri State Police. I can tell you that my family is extremely distraught that their husband, father, and grandfather would be labeled in such a manner. I am also not ruling out legal action. In addition, I am discussing an appropriate response with Ron Paul and Bob Barr. I will keep readers posted as to what comes of these discussions (as I am at liberty to do so, of course).

In the meantime, I encourage everyone who believes in the freedom of speech and who believes that the MIAC report is an egregious miscarriage of justice to contact the appropriate Missouri police officials. Here is the contact information:

And lest one thinks that none of this concerns him or her, I would like to remind you of the lament of Martin Niemoeller back in the days of Hitler's Germany. Niemoeller was a decorated U-Boat Captain and pastor of great distinction. An avid anti-communist, Niemoeller at first supported Hitler's rise to power and was hesitant to oppose the violations of civil rights against various groups he personally found distasteful. It did not take long, however, before Niemoeller realized that when laws protecting the rights of all were removed from some, no one was safe--including him. Unfortunately, he learned his lesson too late, as he, too, was persecuted and imprisoned by Hitler's State Police. Here is what Niemoeller said about his indifference:

"They came first for the communists, and I did not speak up-
because I was not a communist;
And then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak up-
because I was not a trade unionist;
And then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak up-
because I was not a Jew;
And then they came for me-
and there was no one left to speak up."

So, those of you who think you have nothing to fear because you did not vote for Ron Paul, Bob Barr, or me, or because you do not live in the State of Missouri need to think again. As I have repeatedly said, we either have freedom for all, or we have freedom for none. Truly, secret police reports such as the one above threaten the liberties of us all.

So, will you speak up now or wait until they come for you and no one is left to speak up?

Obama Received a $101,332 Bonus from AIG

March 17, 3:01 PM

Senator Barack Obama received a $101,332 bonus from American International Group in the form of political contributions according to Opensecrets.org. The two biggest Congressional recipients of bonuses from the A.I.G. are - Senators Chris Dodd and Senator Barack Obama.
The A.I.G. Financial Products affiliate of A.I.G. gave out $136,928, the most of any AIG affiliate, in the 2008 cycle. I would note that A.I.G.’s financial products division is the unit that wrote trillions of dollars’ worth of credit-default swaps and "misjudged" the risk.
The Washington Post reports a "mob effect" at A.I.G financial products division:

"A tidal wave of public outrage over bonus payments swamped American International Group yesterday. Hired guards stood watch outside the suburban Connecticut offices of AIG Financial Products, the division whose exotic derivatives brought the insurance giant to the brink of collapse last year. Inside, death threats and angry letters flooded e-mail inboxes. Irate callers lit up the phone lines. Senior managers submitted their resignations. Some employees didn't show up at all."

With the anger and rage that is being exhibited against A.I.G., perhaps the bonuses Obama received from A.I.G. explain Obama's A.I.G crocodile tears.

Now that the Wall street Journal has revealed that A.I.G. paid bonuses of $1 million or more to 73 employees, it's time to ask if recipients of A.I.G. "bonuses," including President Obama, will give what now ought to be taxpayer money back?

The Day of the Lord, Final Instructions

1 Thessalonians 5

1But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.

2For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

3For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

4But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

5Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

6Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

7For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.

8But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

9For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

10Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

11Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

12And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;

13And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.

14Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.

15See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.

16Rejoice evermore.

17Pray without ceasing.

18In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

19Quench not the Spirit.

20Despise not prophesyings.

21Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

22Abstain from all appearance of evil.

23And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

24Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

25Brethren, pray for us.

26Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss.

27I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren.

28The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

Begorra! Irish PM trips over White House speech

Begorra! Irish PM trips over White House speech
4 hours ago

WASHINGTON (AP) — Irish Prime Minister Brian Cowen was just a few paragraphs into an address at a St. Patrick's Day celebration at the White House when he realized something sounded way too familiar. Turns out, he was repeating the speech President Barack Obama had just given.

Cowen was set to speak twice at the White House on Tuesday night because there were two different parties going on at the executive mansion. No matter — he would give the same speech to the two different audiences.

But Cowen was 20 seconds into his second address when it dawned on him that he was giving word for word the speech that Obama had just read from the same teleprompter.

Cowen stopped and looked back at the president to say, "That's your speech."

Obama laughed and returned to the podium to offer what might have been Cowen's remarks. In doing so, President Obama thanked President Obama for inviting everyone over.

Ending NAFTA Inspired Trucking Program Could Spark Retaliation

Ending NAFTA Inspired Trucking Program Could Spark Retaliation

By Dana Gabriel
http://www.borderfirereport.net/dana-gabriel/ending-nafta-inspired-trucking-program-could-spark-retaliation.php

Allowing Mexican long-haul trucks full access inside the U.S. is a component of NAFTA. Safety and security issues have proven to be a huge stumbling block in achieving this objective of the agreement. Under the Bush administration, a cross-border trucking program was established, giving a limited number of Mexican trucks full access beyond the commercial zone restrictions. Several past attempts to shut down the program have failed, but it appears as if the House Democrat fiscal 2009 spending bill, could finally put a stop to it. Ending the program could strain relations with Mexico and spark some sort of trade retaliation. There are reports that the Obama administration may try to implement their own program in order to better respect NAFTA obligations..

The pilot trucking program began in September 2007, as a result of a successful challenge which found the U.S. in violation of NAFTA. Under the program, a limited number of Mexican carriers are permitted full access to U.S roads. It also allows for an equal number of U.S. trucks to operate in the same capacity in Mexico. Despite previous efforts to cut funding, the Bush administration was able to continue the program by using funds from other parts of the transportation budget. As part of the Fiscal Year 2009 Omnibus Appropriations Bill, all funding would be terminated, using very clear and strong language which could not be misinterpreted. The U.S. Department of Transportation has stated that they would not make any attempts to save the program.

There is speculation that canceling the cross-border trucking program could set the tables for a showdown between the Obama administration and the Mexican government. Allowing Mexican long-haul trucks full access inside the U.S. is a NAFTA commitment and the pilot program is seen as a step in fulfilling this provision of the agreement. If the U.S. fails to comply, it is possible that Mexico could retaliate by placing or raising tariffs on some U.S. goods. Mexico’s ambassador to the U.S., Arturo Sarukhan, has stated that if the program is defeated by congress, that all options would be open, including possible retaliation. He stressed that ending the program has nothing to do with safety and security, but is rather a protectionist move. He also warned that keeping Mexican trucks off U.S. roads would raise the cost of goods for consumers and producers. Ending the pilot trucking program could hurt U.S.-Mexico relations and affect NAFTA.

Since its inception, there have been concerns whether the pilot trucking program would meet all U.S. safety regulations and just how they would be enforced. Mexico lacks any effective safety standards for its drivers or trucks. There is also no accurate drug or alcohol policy in place and it is without a reliable national criminal or driving database. Unions, as well as some safety and consumer groups, oppose the cross-border trucking program, citing safety, security and environmental concerns. The Teamsters Union, along with Public Citizen and the Sierra Club, have filed a suit to stop the program, in an attempt to close the border to Mexican trucks.

Some are calling on the Obama administration to block any move to end the cross-border trucking program and instead take action to make it permanent. Proponents argue that Mexican long-haul trucks have been unfairly denied full access inside the U.S., not because of safety and security concerns, but as a result of union pressures to prevent competition. They contend that protectionist measures have hindered American trucking companies from reaping the benefits of gaining full access into Mexico. They are also warning that ending the pilot program would raise the price of consumer goods. There are accusations that the Democrat-controlled congress is further shilling to unions and that the move to end the trucking program is a means of rewarding them.

The cross-border trucking program is part of NAFTA and the corporate North American Union agenda of further erasing continental borders. If it becomes permanent and is expanded, it could lower wages and lead to more American job losses. There is also the potential that it could destroy small and medium sized independent trucking companies. Allowing Mexican trucks full access inside the U.S. is a safety issue, as well as a security threat which could increase drug and human smuggling. Republican Congressman, Ron Paul, had this to say about the pilot trucking program when it was first announced. “Rather than securing our borders, we seem to be providing more pores for illegal aliens, drug dealers, and terrorists to permeate.” In light of the growing drug cartel violence in Mexico, further securing the border should be a national security priority.

G-20 Summit - a Complete Waste of Money

G-20 Summit - a Complete Waste of Money

Those who expected much of anything to come out of this G-20 meeting were mistaken. The bottom line is that every country is going to do what it wants, and unfortunately most of them have agreed to do the wrong thing which is to stimulate lending.

In addition, a fight of sorts as broken out between the US and EU over additional stimulus proposals. With that backdrop let's take a look at some snips from G-20 pledge sustained action on financial crisis.

Finance ministers and central bankers from the Group of 20, which accounts for more than 80 percent of the world economy, agreed there was an "urgent need" for a big boost to the lending resources of the International Monetary Fund to help struggling governments in the developing world.

They left the specific amount and who would contribute open, to be taken up at the much-anticipated summit of the group's national leaders in London on April 2.

"We're prepared to take whatever action is necessary to ensure growth is restored and we're committed to do that for however long it takes to do that," said British Treasury chief Alistair Darling.

"I can't be clearer in saying that there are no sides," Obama told reporters after the meeting.

"It makes no sense to pump more and more money in our economy when we haven't restored the confidence on the financial market," said German Finance Minister Peer Steinbrueck.

The G-20 statement also agreed to some oversight on hedge funds, largely unregulated investment funds whose financial clout has grown enormously over the past decade. "We agreed that stronger regulation ... was necessary to prevent the build-up of systemic risk," he said.

They also agreed to oversight and registration of credit rating agencies, clearer accounting rules for problem assets, and more standards for credit derivatives, another lightly regulated area that has raised fears of large losses.

As expected there was not one mention of the role the Fed, central bankers in general, fractional reserve lending, reckless deficit spending by the US and others, SIVs and off balance sheet accounting at Citigroup and banks in general, or anything else that contributed mightily to the meltdown.

Instead there was an agreement to look at hedge funds.

Framework for Financial Repair

The G-20 did manage to put together this lame Framework for Financial Repair and Recovery.

We, the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors, agreed the need to continue working together to maintain and support lending in our financial systems. We are committed to taking decisive action, where needed, and to use all available tools to restore the full functioning of financial markets, and in particular to underpin the flow of credit, both domestically and globally.

Actions to achieve this may include where necessary:

  • providing liquidity support, including through government guarantees to financial institutions’ liabilities;

  • injecting capital into financial institutions;

  • protecting savings and deposits; and,

  • strengthening banks’ balance sheets, including through dealing with impaired assets.

Our key priority now is to address the uncertainties around the value of assets held on banks’ balance sheets, which are significantly constraining banks’ lending. This uncertainty, and the extent to which banks are holding capital to protect themselves from further potential extreme losses, is preventing them from restoring lending to business and households, with damaging consequences to our economies.
G-20 Communiqué

Anyone hoping for some meaningful statement of action in the G-20 Governors Communiqué is sure to be disappointed. The communiqué is nothing more than a useless hand holding seance in praise of motherhood and apple pie.

Consider point number one.

1. ... We commit to fight all forms of protectionism and maintain open trade and investment.

Are we supposed to believe this? Why? There have been so many consecutive failures in trade talks that I have lost count.

2. Our key priority now is to restore lending by tackling, where needed, problems in the financial system head on, through continued liquidity support, bank recapitalisation and dealing with impaired assets, through a common framework. We reaffirm our commitment to take all necessary actions to ensure the soundness of systemically important institutions.

Hallelujah. The key priority is to restore lending when reckless lending is what got us into this mess. There are six more statements most of which amount to nothing more than an agreement to agree. Let's take a look at number seven.

7. We have also agreed to: regulatory oversight, including registration, of all Credit Rating Agencies whose ratings are used for regulatory purposes, and compliance with the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) code; full transparency of exposures to off-balance sheet vehicles; the need for improvements in accounting standards, including for provisioning and valuation uncertainty; greater standardisation and resilience of credit derivatives markets; the FSF’s sound practice principles for compensation; and the relevant international bodies identify non-cooperative jurisdictions and to develop a tool box of effective counter measure.

Wonderful. They agreed to register credit rating agencies. Wow. That's sure going to help. Notice too the statement regarding full transparency to off-balance sheet vehicles. Excuse me for asking but how about a timeline as to when? Then again, why should there be off-balance sheet entities at all?

And please check out that last statement. "We have also agreed to the relevant international bodies identify non-cooperative jurisdictions and to develop a tool box of effective counter measure."

That's not even a sentence but the idea seems to be to "develop a toolbox to identify non-cooperative jurisdictions" whatever the hell that means.

Rest assured, whatever it is, it will be another bureaucratic boondoggle and a complete waste of money if it is attempted. For that matter, the entire G-20 conference was a complete waste of money judging from the results.

G20: Russian Global Currency

G20: Russian Global Currency
By Shannon Bell

For the upcoming G20 on April 2, Russia for their part, has proposed a multinational global reserve currency to be issued by international institutions as part of reforming the global economic system.

Russian Ruble

The Russians have been adamant in their criticism of the U.S. dollar as the dominant global reserve currency in the world. Russia has been decreasing their own holdings of the dollar in recent years; both Putin and Medvedev have called for the Ruble to be used as a regional reserve currency, with no backers outside of Russia itself. From the Moscow Times:

Analysts said the new Kremlin proposal would elicit little excitement among the G20 members.

“This is all in the realm of fantasy,” said Sergei Perminov, chief strategist at Rye, Man and Gore. “There was a situation that resembled what they are talking about. It was called the gold standard, and it ended very badly.

“Alternatives to the dollar are still hard to find,” he said.

The Kremlin document on a global currency also said national banks and financial institutions should diversify their holdings of foreign currency reserves. It also says that there should be a complete restructuring of the global financial system to keep a crisis like our current one from happening again. Even going so far as to say there should be a conference after the G20 to adopt formal agreements on a new financial structure.

Sounds a lot like, “we’re going to do what we want and you Americans can just sit on it and spin”. Most analysts agree that the Russian proposal for a global currency at the G20 will not be enthusiastically received; for our sake let’s hope not.

I don’t need to tell you how bad it would be for us, if some currency other than the U.S. dollar were to be the world economic standard. The G20 is one of those events that nobody really pays attention to; this time we had better.

US to sign UN gay rights declaration

US to sign UN gay rights declaration
By MATTHEW LEE – 2 hours ago

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obama administration will endorse a U.N. declaration calling for the worldwide decriminalization of homosexuality that then-President George W. Bush had refused to sign, The Associated Press has learned.

U.S. officials said Tuesday they had notified the declaration's French sponsors that the administration wants to be added as a supporter. The Bush administration was criticized in December when it was the only western government that refused to sign on.

The move was made after an interagency review of the Bush administration's position on the nonbinding document, which was signed by all 27 European Union members as well as Japan, Australia, Mexico and three dozen other countries, the officials said.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because Congress was still being notified of the decision. They said the administration had decided to sign the declaration to demonstrate that the United States supports human rights for all.

"The United States is an outspoken defender of human rights and critic of human rights abuses around the world," said one official.

"As such, we join with the other supporters of this statement and we will continue to remind countries of the importance of respecting the human rights of all people in all appropriate international fora," the official said.

The official added that the United States was concerned about "violence and human rights abuses against gay, lesbian, transsexual and bisexual individuals" and was also "troubled by the criminalization of sexual orientation in many countries."

"In the words of the United States Supreme Court, the right to be free from criminalization on the basis of sexual orientation 'has been accepted as an integral part of human freedom'," the official said.

Gay rights and other groups had criticized the Bush administration when it refused to sign the declaration when it was presented at the United Nations on Dec. 19. U.S. officials said then that the U.S. opposed discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation but that parts of the declaration raised legal questions that needed further review.

According to negotiators, the Bush team had concerns that those parts could commit the federal government on matters that fall under state jurisdiction. In some states, landlords and private employers are allowed to discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation; on the federal level, gays are not allowed to serve openly in the military.

It was not immediately clear on Tuesday how the Obama administration had come to a different conclusion.

When it was voted on in December, 66 of the U.N.'s 192 member countries signed the declaration — which backers called a historic step to push the General Assembly to deal more forthrightly with anti-gay discrimination.

But 70 U.N. members outlaw homosexuality — and in several, homosexual acts can be punished by execution. More than 50 nations, including members of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, opposed the declaration.

Some Islamic countries said at the time that protecting sexual orientation could lead to "the social normalization and possibly the legalization of deplorable acts" such as pedophilia and incest. The declaration was also opposed by the Vatican.

AIG & Madoff: Harbingers Of Changes To Come

The latest scandals dealing with corporate conspicuous consumption are a harbinger of changes to come. Over the week end there was a report that AIG the conglomerate on life-support, had given its associates* $160 Million in bonuses. Also, last week Bernard Madoff the infamous Wall Street tycoon appeared in a New York court for the charges stemming from his Ponzi scheme which defrauded $50 Billion from clients, and was incarcerated awaiting a final sentence in June.

These two cases of what they colloquially call "greed" are the pretext for what I foresee as a tighter control of monetary transactions, and a closer scrutiny of personal finances.

The Obama administration will attempt to retrieve the bonuses that AIG recently disbursed; This was done in spite of recently (the federal government owns 80 % of the company) receiving a cumulative $180 Billion to prevent it from going bankrupt. AIG was spared an implosion with taxpayer funds; Yet, it found the means of channeling millions of dollars for gratuities to its employees*.

Mr. Bernard Madoff hinted that he wanted to set aside up to $62 Million of (in wife's name) his assets for his wife. The Obama administration is trying to seize and liquidate all of the Madoff property & assets: Homes, Vehicles, Boats, Bank Accounts, and even Silverware; This is equitable since he stole 100x that amount from people who trusted in him.

Here we see government's oppressive nature rearing its ugly head;
Of course, in these two instances the measures are warranted. But, the precedent that it sets is what's troubling to me. This is not only a case of justice being served, it's also a case of meddling into people's livelihood;
This will dramatically change banking procedures; Other issues that will contribute to these changes are (increasing regulations to address) the concerns about identity theft, counterfeit money, and money laundering. In a shrinking "global economy" more changes will occur.

It reminds me of what the Apostle John wrote in the book of Revelation, chapter 13, where it states that the second Beast would regulate who was able to buy or sell.

We can argue that these people are getting what they deserve. I agree with that. Yet, I can not forget that the sure word of prophecy tells us that this will eventually happen; And, if this isn't the beginning of the end?
I don't know what it is!

And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Revelation 13:16,17.

Castro, Jesuits and U.S. All On Same Vatican-led New World Order Team

Castro, Jesuits and U.S. All On Same Vatican-led New World Order Team

Kennedy assassination sealed Cuba’s fate, reducing it poverty, tyranny and revolution

By Greg Szymanski, JD for the Arctic Beacon, Mar. 15 2009

The people of Cuba have been run over the coals just like people in every other country the Vatican-led New World Order sets its evil sights on.

Who would have thought the Jesuits controlled Fidel Castro?

But 40 years ago, who would have thought the Jesuits controlled U.S. foreign and domestic policy?

A recent poll taken in the U.S., based on obvious sentiment and apathy, showed 99.9 per cent of Americans could care less about Cuba, Castro and really who controlled their own country, saying they would accept a fascist dictator as long as the Super Bowl wasn’t interrupted by the upcoming World War III.

However, if anyone is interested how a real live Cuban citizen, not a video game replica, feels about Castro and the hidden agenda of the Jesuits, here is a recent letter received by author of Vatican Assassins, Eric Jon Phelps, from Brian Munoz of Cuba.

In the letter, Munoz reveals how the Cuban people have been hoodwinked, just like the American people, regarding how the Jesuit Order pulls the strings of all the major leaders of the world in order to foment wars and revolutions in their quest for a one world government and one world religion under a Luciferian doctrine.

Here is Munoz’s letter and Phelps response dated Mar. 3:

Mr. Phelps: I have been wanting to contact you for some time now. I think you may be the only person that can help me clear up some things about Castro, the Jesuits and JFK. Your input may help bring closure to a 50 year old bitter feeling from most Cubans towards John F Kennedy for pulling the plug in the Bay of Pigs Invasion at the last minute.

Cubans have always blamed JFK for our failure to overthrow Castro. After having seen your videos among others and getting a broader picture of the behind the scene things that have gone on in U.S. government, I am not so sure JFK was the culprit.

Also, I know that Castro studied in a Jesuit school as a young adult. I would not be surprised if he had help from the Illuminati or Jesuits.

We Cubans have always wondered why the U.S. gets involved in playing world police, taking down and putting up leaders, but Castro has remained the untouchable. No one wants to touch him with ten foot pole.

Mr. Munoz: Thank you for contacting me.

Your email brought tears to my eyes.

I will send you a cd-ebook of Vatican Assassins III if you will share the info with your Cuban brethren in South Florida. Until then I will tell you this:

Fidel Castro was trained by Jesuits for seven years. His Jesuit advisor and right hand was Jesuit Father Armando Llorente. Castro was groomed in New York City as I have a picture of him in Central Park before the revolution in a nice, three-piece suit. And why was he in New York City? He was there to take his orders in person from the Archbishop of New York, Francis Cardinal Spellman, later the mastermind behind the JFK assassination.

At this time in 1959 just prior to Castro being given Cuba, it had been decided that Cuba must be isolated from the American Empire, the Empire under the command of the Archbishop of New York and directed by the Jesuits at Fordham and Georgetown Universities. (Jesuit Georgetown University is the capital bringing its national and foreign policies into the White House West Wing. The Capitol buliding is not the capital.) Cuba was and is intended to be a staging base for the coming Sino-Soviet-Moslem invasion of America. To make this possible, the pope’s international press must be given a reason to be shut out of Cuba via the justification of “communism.” Remember, communism was perfected by the Jesuits from 1609-1759 on their 59 communist reductions in Paraguay. Therefore, the Black Pope Pedro Arrupe gave the order to foment the Cuban revolution in 1959 using his CFR-controlled Press to paint Batista as a horrible, brutal tyrant thus enabling certain press lords like Ed Sullivan, a New York Roman Catholic Knight of Columbus, to back Castro. CIA director Allen Dulles, a Knight of Malta and Nazi-protector, backed Castro calling him “the Abraham Lincoln of Cuba” creating more sympathy in the hearts of the deceived and ignorant American people for “the liberator, Fidel Castro.” The CIA gave Castro guns and millions of dollars during and after the revolution knowing full well that he was a tool of the Jesuits—the very Jesuits who ruled the CIA via Knight of Malta Allen Dulles and later Knight of Malta John McCone who oversaw JFK’s assassination in 1963. The revolution would never have succeeded had not the Jesuit-ruled CFR-controlled US government backed Castro in every way possible—just as it had backed Jesuit-trained Joseph Stalin during Lend-Lease and after the world war giving the Soviets all of America’s high technology, be it aircraft or naval or electronic, while also giving the KGB supremacy over the CIA.

During the revolution, Castro’s headquarters was Havana’s Hilton Hotel, remembering that Knight of Malta Barron Hilton owned that hotel. Pope Paul VI, with his Black Pope Pedro Arrupe, was the power behind Castro for which reason we understand why Castro was openly backed by the CIA and openly opposed by the KGB before the revolution. (The USSR had been controlled by the Black Pope since the success of the Bolshevik Revolution in 1920, aided by President Warren Harding for the tune of $60 million worth of food and other supplies. Rome pretended to oppose Soviet Communism so as to deceive the anti-communist West while the intelligence agencies “on both sides” secretly worked together.) After the revolution, the KGB openly backed Castro while the CIA secretly backed him, yet both the CIA and KGB worked together during the entire Cold War, another hoax put upon the peoples of the West. To FURTHER ENTRENCH CASTRO IN POWER BY ELIMINATING TRUE CUBAN NATIONALISTIC PATRIOTS, the Bay of Pigs invasion was planned for 1961. President Eisenhower, Cardinal Spellman’s Knight of Malta and Crusader during WWII, had planned the FAILURE OF THE INVASION with his brother Knight of Malta Allen Dulles of the CIA.

At the time the invasion was to begin, President Kennedy gave his consent and permission for the operation to proceed the day before the attack. JFK was fully behind the plan to eliminate Jesuit and Freemason Fidel Castro because JFK refused to take his orders from the pope of Rome as he had declared at a meeting of Protestant and Baptist ministers in Houston, Texas, late in 1960. Thus, JFK did not cancel the air support. According to Colonel L. Fletcher Prouty in his book JFK, it was Skull and Bonesman McGeorge Bundy, JFK’s National Security Advisor, who canceled that air cover. Bundy even admitted it seventeen years later, as Prouty proves in his book. Kennedy was furious! He fired CIA Director Allen Dulles and CIA Deputy Director Charles Cabell as well as CIA Director for Plans Richard Bissell. JFK made plans for another invasion of Cuba: the date; December 1, 1963. This fact can be verified in the book Ultimate Sacrifice authored by Lamar Waldron and Thom Hartman. To prevent that invasion, he was killed nine days before on November 22, 1963.

The assassination of Kennedy sealed Cuba’s fate. No longer would the pope’s CIA pretend to attempt to overthrow Castro. With his most dangerous enemies eliminated thanks to Bonesman Bundy and the KOMs Dulles’/McCone’s CIA, Castro could now proceed to kill every Cuban patriot and reduce that once prosperous and beautiful island to poverty, crime and tyranny. The CFR-controlled US government even gave Castro $60 million in food and medical supplies “in exchange” for Cubans captured and tortured after the failed invasion. This blessing to Castro further removed his enemies from Cuba while he received aid to benefit his Jesuit-ruled government. During the Cold War, Castro would secretly work with the CIA via Cuba’s DGI, both agencies being arms of Rome’s secret “Holy Office of the Inquisition.” All the military supplies necessary for arming arriving Chinese and Moslem invaders from Africa would be stored awaiting the day of invasion. Arms would secretly be brought into Guantanamo Naval Base for years by the US Navy under the protection of the CIA/NSA. Ultimately Gitmo, with its precious deep water port, would be given back to Cuba—which event is now in the making. Further, there is an underground tunnel from Cuba to Miami with a mag-lev, high-speed train that will be used to transport invading, front line troops into Florida to kill the second largest Jewish population in North America resident on “the Gold Coast.” Meanwhile, China’s huge shipping company, COSCO, will deploy its ships to transport Moslem and Chinese invaders into Miami for its invasion of the once White Protestant and Baptist Old South. The Russian Navy will escort the invasion from Venezuela now being put in place.

This is why Jesuit Castro was put in power. This is why thousands of your people risked shark-infested waters to escape Castro. This is why thousands of Cuban nationalists were tortured and murdered in Inquisitor Castro’s underground prisons. This is why Cuba will never be free. And JFK tried to stop this plan of the Black Pope for which he was adjudged “a tyrant and a usurper” and “extirpated” according to Jesuit-directed Canon Law. He was murdered by the CIA, the Secret Service, the Mafia, the FBI along with Army and Naval Intelligence—all working together.

I trust this helps Brian, although it is a most bitter and sorrowful story, for both my people and yours.
