All that dwell upon the earth shall worship him

And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Fear for Obama's Safety Grows as Hate Groups Thrive on Racial Backlash

Violent Signs, Gun, Standoff Latest in Emerging Anger Towards the President
By BRIAN ROSS, ANNA SCHECTER and MEGAN CHUCHMACH
August 14, 2009

Experts who track hate groups across the U.S. are growing increasingly concerned over violent rhetoric targeted at President Obama, especially as the debate over health care intensifies and a pattern of threats emerges.

The Secret Service is investigating a Maryland man who held a sign reading "Death to Obama" and "Death to Michelle and her two stupid kids" outside a town hall meeting this week. And in New Hampshire, another man stood across the street from a Presidential town hall with his gun on full display.

Los Angeles police officers apprehended a man Thursday after a standoff with him inside a red Volkswagen Bug car in Westwood, CA – the latest disturbing case even though officials said the man had mental problems.

Contentious health care debate heightens concerns for Obama's safety.

"I don't think these are simply people who are mentally ill or off their rocker," Mark Potok, director of the Intelligence Project at the Southern Poverty Law Center, told ABC News of those behind the threats. "In a very real sense they represent a genuine reaction, a genuine backlash against Obama."

Experts say a sharp growth in so-called militia groups that helped spawn a wave of domestic terrorism in the 1990s – and are now using YouTube, rock music and the Internet to recruit members and spread hate and fear - shouldn't be ignored.

"It's certainly a scary time," said former FBI agent Brad Garrett, now an ABC News consultant. Garrett said the Secret Service "cannot afford to pass on anyone," and he believes "they really do fear that something could happen to [Obama]."

Garrett said statements like one recently made by controversial radio host Rush Limbaugh comparing a logo for the White House plan to a Nazi symbol "legitimizes people who are on the edge to go do something or say something."

"And if you go and take a look at this, you will find that the Obama health care logo is damn close to a Nazi swastika logo," Limbaugh said.

Later, someone painted a swastika outside the office of Congressman David Scott of Georgia, one of Obama's supporters.

What the Pharmaceutical companies don't want you to know about Vaccines

What the Pharmaceutical companies don't want you to know about Vaccines
a book by Dr Todd M. Elsner, D.C.

ISBN-13: 978-0-9818554-0-0ISBN-10: 0-9818554-0-7

ABOUT THE COVER

At first glance, the cover of this book might seem graphic. If you count the needles in the infant, you will come up with eighteen. If you count the needles in the background, you will arrive at 63. This is only half the story. Today, according to the CDC’s recommended immunization schedule, a child receives 36 shots containing a total of 126 vaccines from birth through six years of age. This is quadruple the number of vaccines a child received in the 1980’s. In 1983 a child received only 10 shots containing 30 vaccines. Could this quadrupling of the vaccination schedule be responsible for the drastic increase in childhood disorders we are seeing today?

Today, one in five children suffers from asthma, one in six children is diagnosed with a learning disability, one in 150 children is diagnosed with autism, one in 250 children has some form of arthritis, and one in every 400 children has diabetes.

Are we trading chickenpox, measles, mumps, rubella, and other harmless childhood illnesses for a lifetime of chronic disease? Are vaccines really responsible for the decline in infectious disease? Were polio and smallpox really eradicated through mandatory mass immunization programs? Or is there a chance the vaccines were really the culprit for the spread of these infectious diseases? Can a contaminated polio vaccine be responsible for the current AIDS pandemic we are seeing today?

Ever wonder what is in that shot your child gets at the pediatrician’s office? Ever thought about how that vaccine is made? Is the dosage safe for your child? Surely it is safe—the CDC claims it is. And by the way, these vaccines have been studied for their long-term effects regarding any carcinogenic, mutagenic, or reproductive potential, right? You’ll be shocked to learn the answer! Is there a chance those well-baby checkups are really poisoning your child? Do vaccines really contain all those chemicals and cause all those diseases that are listed on the cover of this book? Yes, and Yes.

The chemicals contained in these vaccines are only the tip of the iceberg, and the diseases listed are only a fraction of the conditions these vaccines can possibly cause.

Oh sure, you are probably thinking—there is no way that can be true. Well, according to the vaccine package inserts, these poisons are in the vaccines, and the listed side effects are in fact listed in these inserts as adverse reactions. You will never hear a pediatrician discussing this with the parents who are about to get their child jabbed.

Any parent considering having children—or who already does—needs to be properly informed of the risks and the benefits of compulsory vaccination. This book is the other half of the story that you will not hear from the pediatrician or from the CDC.

If you want the best for your children and want them to be healthy throughout life, then this book is a must read!

Introduction

This book contains the other side of the story regarding the heated debate on vaccination. This information you will never hear from mainstream media, government health officials, and especially pediatricians. As certain government health officials have stated in the past behind closed-door meetings, “basically consider this embargoed information.”1

I will automatically be labeled by the pro-vaccination community as “anti-vaccine.” But if being labeled as anti-vaccine means that I am against injecting hazardous waste, known carcinogens, neurotoxins, harsh poisons and cancer-causing monkey viruses into children, then I will be the first to take the credit of labeling myself as anti-vaccine.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is the authority when it comes to vaccines. If one were to research the law in America, they would go to the United States Supreme Court. Well, in the vaccine world the CDC is the U.S. Supreme Court. The buck stops there. The majority of the information in this book comes directly from the CDC. The rest of the information comes directly from the pharmaceutical companies’ vaccine package inserts, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Institute of Medicine (IOM), the United States Congress, and from studies published in prestigious peer reviewed medical journals.

The CDC claims that vaccines are responsible for the eradication of communicable diseases. This might come as a shock to most, but vaccine preventable diseases were nearly eradicated on their own before any vaccine was ever introduced. For example, measles was 98.6 percent eradicated on its own before the vaccine was introduced in 1963. How about Pertussis? It was nearly 89 percent eradicated before the widespread use of the vaccine in the late 1940’s. But wait, it gets better…

How about the flu shot that is heavily advertised every fall? The CDC claims the flu takes 36,000 lives every year—a number pulled out of thin air.

Their very own records dispute the bogus 36,000 annual deaths. According to the CDC, in 2001 there were only 257 reported deaths from the flu.2 Looking back through the CDC’s records dating back to 1979, there was an average of only 1,348 flu deaths per year—nowhere even close to 36,000!3

The CDC further states vaccines are safe and effective. Let’s address the safety issue first. There have never been any studies done to test vaccines for their carcinogenic, mutagenic, or potential to impair fertility. Could this be because vaccines contain carcinogens? Carcinogens cause cancer, who in their right mind would inject cancer-causing agents into a teeny tiny baby?

Carcinogens are not the only thing vaccines contain. They also contain neurotoxins, “harsh poisons,” and even hazardous waste. Yes, you read that correctly, hazardous waste. According to Eli Lilly, the manufacturer of thimerosal, “This material and its container must be disposed of as hazardous waste.” So the medical profession disposes of this hazardous waste into our most innocent and purest form of life—our children! Thimerosal never has been removed from vaccines, only moved from one vaccine to another.

These vaccines are effective, right? Nope! If a vaccine does take, the immunity lasts ten years at best. Take for example, the hepatitis B vaccine. This vaccine is given immediately after birth for the prevention of hepatitis B—which is transmitted by I.V. drug use and sexual contact. By the time your child is old enough to become a drug-using prostitute, they will have absolutely no immunity from the vaccine. However, studies have shown the vaccine to cause diabetes.

In 1980, children received ten shots containing thirty vaccines. Today, children receive over 124 vaccines from birth through age six. Not only are children used as pincushions, they are sicker than ever before. Could the culprit be vaccines?

This book describes each communicable disease that a vaccine is supposed to prevent. Furthermore, all the vaccines licensed by the U.S. FDA are described and the chemicals in each vaccine are listed. The chemicals are then cross-referenced with the National Library of Medicine’s Hazardous Substance Data Bank (HSDB) for their human health effects. If the ingredient is not found in the HSDB then the manufacturer’s material safety data sheet is used to describe the human health effects.

So let’s look at this vaccine issue in a little more detail. Let’s look at the infectious diseases these vaccines supposedly prevent. Let’s look at how the vaccines are manufactured. Let’s look at what is in a vaccine. Let’s look at any potential side effects these vaccines may have. Oh, wait—the CDC says these vaccines are safe, so surely there cannot be any adverse effects from these vaccines. Or can there be? You decide…

National Guard drill at high school to prepare for possible H1N1 riot
By Leslie H. Dixon, Staff Writer

Published: Aug 13, 2009 1:46 am

PARIS — Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School will be the site of a National Guard riot control drill Thursday morning to prepare in the event of a panic over distribution of serum to treat the swine flu.

The school on Route 26 at the Paris-Norway town line has been designated by state officials as a distribution site for the H1N1 flu vaccine. The drill is to prepare for a worst-case scenario should the serum have to be transported from Augusta and people rush to get it.

On Thursday morning, four or five National Guard Humvees will travel from Augusta to Paris with vials of fake serum. The National Guardsmen will take on the roles of panicked citizens and military police and practice what they would do, such as using tear gas, in the case of a riot.

"This is just a component of moving the stuff from point A to B," said Oxford County Emergency Management Agency Director Scott Parker. The plan will be put into place only if needed, he said.

Plans were developed in April to have vials of serum sent from the federal government to Augusta, Parker said. From Augusta, the supplies will be transported to designated distribution centers.

During the April conference, concerns were raised about a possible out-of-control rush on the serum, Parker said. Because of that concern, Gov. John Baldacci and Gen. John Libby, adjutant general of the Maine National Guard, agreed that a plan should be devised to quell such a disturbance.

Local police chiefs have also been involved in the planning, Parker said. In a real event, local police would be in charge of security once the serum arrives in Paris. "We own it. We're in charge of providing security," he said.

As of Aug. 5, the Maine Center for Disease Control said there had been 323 confirmed cases of H1N1 in Maine, of which 176 are Maine residents and the rest out-of-staters diagnosed in Maine. A total of 19 people required hospitalization. Sixty percent of the victims were under the age of 25.

On Tuesday, health authorities reported Maine's first death from the H1N1 virus. Dr. Dora Anne Mills, director of the Maine Center for Disease Control, said a York County man in his 50s was hospitalized for three weeks and died last week of underlying conditions complicated by H1N1.

The drill will take place behind the school and will not affect the day-to-day activities within the school. Access to the school building will be available through the main entrance, Parker said.

Electric Grid Still Vulnerable to Electromagnetic Weaponry

Electric Grid Still Vulnerable to Electromagnetic Weaponry
Posted July 27, 2009

By Janet Raloff, for Science News' Science & the Public Blog

Electromagnetic pulse is hardly a household term. But perhaps it should be. Every computer we buy, every system we turn over to computer control, every device that relies on electronic components — all cars, TVs and phones, for instance — makes us more vulnerable to such a high-energy rain of electrons.

EMP is a powerful and potentially devastating form of electromagnetic "fallout." It’s usually associated with nuclear weapons, although it can be triggered by any major explosive bursts. Unlike radioactive fallout, this rain won’t directly harm living things. It will just catastrophically fry all electronics and modern electrical systems by inducing staggeringly large and rapid current or voltage surges.

It makes a great equalizer for small nations looking to stand up to military Goliaths, argues Rep. Roscoe Bartlett (Rep.-Md.), a former research scientist and engineer who has worked in the past on projects for NASA and the military. All one needs to wreak some serious EMP damage, he charges, is a sea-worthy steamer, $100,000 to buy a scud-missile launcher, and a crude nuclear weapon. Then fling the device high into the air and detonate its warhead.

Such a system might not paralyze the entire United States, he concedes. "But you could shut down all of New England. And if you missed by 100 miles, it’s as good as a bulls eye.”

Bartlett brought up questions about the power industry’s vulnerability to EMPs this morning at a House Science subcommittee hearing convened to look at what’s needed to roll out a nationwide “smart grid.” Emerging sensor-driven systems would allow the U.S. power-distribution system to converse back and forth with any devices we plug into it.

A smart grid should, among other things, allow our dishwasher, air conditioner, clothes drier or office lighting to know when the regional demand for power is highest, forcing a need for extra — and higher-cost per kilowatt-hour — generation. Technology already exists to let our electron-fueled gizmos know what the instantaneous cost of power is. So, if we were able to program our appliances and lighting to only run when that cost was low, consumers could help reduce the peaks and valleys in electrical generation (something utilities crave) — and cut our energy costs.
But the core of smart-grid technology — computer-controlled circuits, relays and sensors — would be vulnerable sitting ducks for EMPs, Bartlett charged. And he isn’t alone in feeling so.
Western society’s vulnerability to EMPs is very real, acknowledged Suedeen Kelly, a Federal Energy Regulatory Commission member who testified at today’s hearing.

“This is indeed a very serious concern that we must address in the context of the smart grid,” added George Arnold of the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg, Md. On the bright side, he said that at least some manufacturers are “sensitive to the issue” and have informed smart-grid developers of efforts being investigated to harden key circuitry.
However, Arnold cited a report on the nation’s EMP vulnerabilities that concluded it’s not practical to try and protect the entire electrical power system — or even all high-value components. So priorities will have to be set as to which assets are most critical, and then focus on shielding them.

But that’s at some indeterminate time in the future. What if a rain of EMPs arrived tomorrow, Bartlett asked?

Depending on the altitude of a detonation, a wide area could be impacted, noted Paul De Martini. This vice president for advanced technology at Southern California Edison, in Rosemead, Calif., also testified at today’s hearing.

Aspects of an EMP weapon might resemble a lightning strike — something the power grid should be able to handle, he said. But other features of an EMP assault would be more akin to events triggered by large solar flares and could damage large elements of the nation’s bulk-transmission system. This is especially true for some “very large, high-voltage transformers that are essentially custom-made,” De Martini said.

Although a spare unit might exist at one utility or another, De Martini noted that obtaining some units — like a new 500,000-volt transformer — requires a long lead time. How long? “It could be two to three years,” he said.

That might make the idea of an EMP attack tempting for some of America’s adversaries, said Bartlett. Because the electronic revolution has not reached North Korea, for example, he argued that it could weather an EMP with “little or no effect.”

But in the United States, a community zapped by EMP weaponry could expect nothing less than physical, economic and civic paralysis. An electronic Armageddon, if you will.

To maximize the real estate zapped, the detonation must take place at relatively high altitude so that the resulting line-of-sight stream of electrons would fan out across a huge swath. For instance, I noted in a story years ago, a small nuclear detonation from a satellite orbiting 250 miles above Omaha might literally shut down traffic coast-to-coast, fry bank computers everywhere and wipe out the North American power grid. Any and everything that relied on vehicles, electricity or computers would remain out of service until the fried circuits were replaced. All gazillion of them.

Only the Amish and others not reliant on late 20th — much less our 21st — century technology would escape unscathed. No wonder the military kept almost all data on EMPs classified until the mid 1960s. Even when I wrote a feature series on EMP weaponry, more than two decades ago, the Defense Department was still reluctant to talk about the nation’s vulnerability. Since then, public discussion of EMP has all but dried up.

But clearly it remains on Bartlett’s radar screen.

At today’s hearing, he recalled sitting in a hotel room in Vienna, Austria, with three members of the Russian Duma several years back. Bartlett said one of them boasted that if Moscow wanted to really injure America, with no fear of retaliation, it would simply authorize a sub to launch a ballistic missile. “’We’d detonate a nuclear weapon high above your country,’” the Russian official told him, “’and shut down your power grid — and your communications — for six months or so.’”
Bartlett recalled another of the Russians adding, ‘“If one weapon wouldn’t do it, we have some spares. Like about 10,000.”

Earlier this week, Bartlett reported, the Secretary of Defense told him that DOD was counting on “deterrence” to protect the United States from EMP terrorism. And Bartlett said he told him: ‘Mr. Secretary, that’s not going to work.’”

America’s leaders have to understand, Bartlett argues, that “The 'smarter' we make the grid, the more vulnerable we are. And unless you’re incorporating EMP protection, you’re simply making it worse rather than better, as far as security is concerned.” To stave off attacks, the congressman recommends that the United States look to technologically limit its vulnerability — because “vulnerability invites attacks.”

If all of this sounds like a playbook for foreign terrorists, don’t worry; I’m hardly letting the cat out of the bag. A novel about an EMP attack on the United States is out, Bartlett noted this morning, and a feature film based on it is in the works.

Government Bailouts and the Stock Market - The Seen and the Unseen

Government Bailouts and the Stock Market - The Seen and the Unseen

Inquiring minds are reading Cash for Clunkers Is Just a Broken Windshield by Caroline Baum. It's the best trashing to date of the "cash for clunkers" program.

Transferring money from taxpayers to car buyers is a transfer. The money taken from taxpayers can’t be used for something else.

This is the lesson of Frederic Bastiat’s essay, “That Which is Seen, and That Which is Unseen.” Bastiat, a 19th century French political economist, tells the story of a shopkeeper who has to hire a glazier to repair a broken window, providing work and income for him in the process. That’s what is seen.

What is unseen is what the shopkeeper would have done if he didn’t have to pay the glazier. He might have bought shoes for his children, providing income for the shoemaker, who in turn could buy leather to produce more shoes. The glazier’s gain is the shoemaker’s loss. There is no net gain, no job or income creation, from this transaction.

Broken Window Fallacy

The “broken window fallacy,” as it is known, can be applied to all government spending. The $787 billion fiscal stimulus enacted in February transfers money from taxpayers to the government to allocate as it sees fit. The effect of the government’s expenditures shows up as growth in gross domestic product. Auto manufacturers produce more cars to meet the juiced demand, adding to GDP. This is what’s seen.

What is unseen is what would have been produced by the private sector had the government not confiscated future revenue via taxation.

Cash for clunkers requires that trade-ins be scrapped, whether they are fully depreciated or not. How is destroying something good for the nation?

James Hamilton, professor of economics at University of California, San Diego, says cash for clunkers adopts the worst of the New Deal policies and adapts it to today’s circumstances.

The Agricultural Adjustment Act of 1933 “paid farmers to slaughter livestock and plow up good crops, as if destroying useful goods could somehow make the nation wealthier,” Hamilton writes on his blog. “And yet, here we are again, with the cash for clunkers program insisting that working vehicles must be junked to qualify for the subsidy.”

Caroline touched on several key issues. The first is is money taken from taxpayers can’t be used for something else. The second regards the destruction of productive assets. I will add a a couple more.

Government seldom if ever allocates resources efficiently. That is another problem with all these stimulus efforts. Without market feedback, it is difficult if not impossible to spend money wisely. At best, government pushes demand forward. At worst, government pays money to destroy productive assets while going deeper in debt to do so.

Moreover, interest on debt from all these stimulus program is adding up. Eventually taxes have to rise to cover those interest payments. Rising taxes will reduce both future demand and future business hiring.

For more on the Seen and Unseen, including an analysis of misguided Keynesian stimulus efforts, please consider On the Brink of Recovery.

Government Spending Crowds Out Private SectorHere is a chart from a recent issue of Contrary Investor that touched on the above issues.

Commercial Bank Lending vs. Federal Debt 1970 - Present

Contrary Investor Writes:

Historically the year over year rate of change in bank lending and Federal
borrowing has been negatively correlated. It has been an inverse relationship.
Not too hard to understand as the government has stepped up stimulus efforts
(borrowed stimulus efforts) when the private sector pulls back during economic
periods of slowing.

The top clip of the chart above is clear in that bank lending
(private sector borrowing) has slowed on a rate of change basis during or very
near all US recessions of the last four decades at least. Simultaneously, as the
bottom clip of the chart reveals, the annual rate of change in government
spending (federal Government borrowing) has expanded during recessions.

The period we’ve colored in red coincides almost perfectly with what was one of the
greatest and most long lived equity bull markets and economic expansions in US
history. What did that decline in Federal borrowing really represent and why did
it coincide with the equity bull?

It represented a period where the Government stopped “crowding out” the private sector in the US. The less the government competed for funds with the private sector (on a rate of change basis), the better the macro US economic outcomes that were achieved and the better the stock market reward for an increasingly private sector centric economy.

S&P 500 1970 - Present

click on chart for sharper image

Note that the biggest bull market in history came during the steepest drop in history in the year over year rate of change of federal debt.

Coincidence or Something More?

For a look at what might be coming, take another look at the Japanese stock market as presented in Effect of Household Deleveraging on Housing, Consumption and the Stock Market.

Nikkei Stock Index 1980-Present

click on chart for sharper image

A look at the Nikkei shows that Japan has already lost two decades since the peak in 1990. It is likely the US follows the same general pattern.

Keynesian clowns think the economy can be jump started by government spending. Japan tried that for a decade. Did it work? It has never worked once in history yet fools never stop trying.

All Japan has to show for its efforts is a massive increase in government debt.

Bailout Seen and the Unseen

Nearly everyone is cheering "cash for clunkers" and all the other stimulus programs. Bernanke even claims to have prevented another great depression.

Yes, the global equity markets stages a big rally. However, was that rally because of what Congress and the Fed did, or in spite of it? I think the latter. Either assertion cannot be proven.

One thing we do know for certain is there is an "unseen" price to be paid for the bailouts, and the Fed sponsored housing boom that preceded it.

The worst recession since the 1930's is the payback for the credit boom, while the payback for the bailouts is coming down the line. The likely payback for all these bailouts is structurally high unemployment and a stock market that goes nowhere for years to come.

Who is responsible for apostasy?

Apostasy

Who is responsible for apostasy?

Author: Ron Spear

“For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed.” Isaiah 9:16.

The Old Testament is the history of the apostasy of God’s church. The Exodus movement with nearly two million souls and only two entered the Promised Land—Caleb and Joshua. The history of the seventy year captivity is another example of the church’s apostasy. From Genesis to the time of John the Baptist there was almost continual rebellion. John came preaching repentance and they killed him for it. He prepared the way for Christ’s ministry. The history of the church in Christ’s day was revealed in Matthew chapter 23. Christ cried out, “Your house is left unto you desolate.” Jesus attempted to convert the leaders of His church, and they killed Him for it. The prophets of the Old Testament were killed and persecuted for their straight testimony to the church. All through the ages those who lived the truth and preached it were imprisoned and killed for their straight testimony.

“According to the light that God has given me in vision, wickedness and deception are increasing among God’s people who profess to keep His commandments. Spiritual discernment to see sin as it exists, and then to put it out of the camp, is decreasing among God’s people; and spiritual blindness is fast coming upon them. The straight testimony must be revived, and it will separate those from Israel who have ever been at war with the means that God has ordained to keep corruptions out of the church. Wrongs must be called wrongs. Grievous sins must be called by their right name. All of God’s people should come nearer to Him and wash their robes of character in the blood of the Lamb. Then will they see sin in the true light and will realize how offensive it is in the sight of God.” Testimonies, vol. 3, 324.

During the 1,260 year prophecy, history reveals that more than 50 million sincere, dedicated saints chose death rather than to yield their conscience and compromise the precious gospel of salvation.

The Seventh-day Adventist Church

The question that we must ask now is, Have we followed in the same apostasy as that of the ancient church?

“I have been shown that the spirit of the world is fast leavening the church. You are following the same path as did ancient Israel. There is the same falling away from your holy calling as God’s peculiar people. You are having fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness. Your concord with unbelievers has provoked the Lord’s displeasure. You know not the things that belong to your peace, and they are fast being hid from your eyes. Your neglect to follow the light will place you in a more unfavorable position than the Jews upon whom Christ pronounced a woe.

“I have been shown that unbelief in the testimonies has been steadily increasing as the people backslide from God. It is all through our ranks, all over the field. But few know what our churches are to experience. I saw that at present we are under divine forbearance, but no one can say how long this will continue. No one knows how great the mercy that has been exercised toward us. But few are heartily devoted to God. There are only a few who, like the stars in a tempestuous night, shine here and there among the clouds.” Testimonies, vol. 5, 75-76.

Could it be that God counseled us in apostasy? Could it be that we have more to fear from within the church itself than from the world—even the papacy?

“The time is not far distant when the test will come to every soul. The mark of the beast will be urged upon us. Those who have step by step yielded to worldly demands and conformed to worldly customs will not find it a hard matter to yield to the powers that be, rather than subject themselves to derision, insult, threatened imprisonment, and death. The contest is between the commandments of God and the commandments of men. In this time the gold will be separated from the dross in the church. True godliness will be clearly distinguished from the appearance and tinsel of it. Many a star that we have admired for its brilliancy will then go out in darkness. Chaff like a cloud will be borne away on the wind, even from places where we see only floors of rich wheat. All who assume the ornaments of the sanctuary, but are not clothed with Christ’s righteousness, will appear in the shame of their own nakedness.” Testimonies, vol. 5, 81.

“God will work a work in our day that but few anticipate. He will raise up and exalt among us those who are taught rather by the unction of His Spirit than by the outward training of scientific institutions. These facilities are not to be despised or condemned; they are ordained of God, but they can furnish only the exterior qualifications. God will manifest that He is not dependent on learned, self-important mortals.” Ibid., 82.

“The church cannot measure herself by the world nor by the opinion of men nor by what she once was. Her faith and her position in the world as they now are must be compared with what they would have been if her course had been continually onward and upward. The church will be weighed in the balances of the sanctuary. If her moral character and spiritual state do not correspond with the benefits and blessings God has conferred upon her, she will be found wanting. The light has been shining clear and definite upon her pathway, and the light of 1882 calls her to an account. If her talents are unimproved, if her fruit is not perfect before God, if her light has become darkness, she is indeed found wanting. The knowledge of our state as God views it, seems to be hidden from us. We see, but perceive not; we hear, but do not understand; and we rest as unconcerned as if the pillar of cloud by day, and the pillar of fire by night, rested upon our sanctuary. We profess to know God, and to believe the truth, but in works deny Him. Our deeds are directly adverse to the principles of truth and righteousness, by which we profess to be governed.” Ibid., 83-84.

The Reason For The Long Delay—See Testimonies, Vol. 2, 194

God says we are in the third watch. The delay is because:

“I saw that watch after watch was in the past. Because of this, should there be a lack of vigilance? Oh, no! There is the greater necessity of unceasing watchfulness, for now the moments are fewer than before the passing of the first watch. . . . If we watched with unabated vigilance then, how much more need of double watchfulness in the second watch. The passing of the second watch has brought us to the third, and now it is inexcusable to abate our watchfulness. The third watch calls for threefold earnestness. To become impatient now would be to lose all our earnest, persevering watching heretofore. The long night of gloom is trying; but the morning is deferred in mercy, because if the Master should come, so many would be found unready. God's unwillingness to have His people perish has been the reason for so long delay. . . . ” Maranatha, 56.

The apostasy was not the Assyrians and people in the northern kingdom of Israel. This has been the case in almost every generation. In the church’s history the leaders caused them to err. See Isaiah 1:1-9. There was only a very small remnant that was faithful.

“Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.” Isaiah 1:9.

The leaders compromised the standard of righteousness by faith by their own lifestyle.

“God sends you into the world as His representative. In every act of life you are to make manifest the name of God. This petition calls upon you to possess His character. You cannot hallow His name, you cannot represent Him to the world, unless in life and character you represent the very life and character of God. This you can do only through the acceptance of the grace and righteousness of Christ.” Mount of Blessing, 107.

The Rebellion Of The Ancient Church Is Now The Rebellion

Of The Present Day Seventh-day Adventist Church

“God has shown me that these men are Hazaels to prove a scourge to our people. They are wise above what is written. This unbelief of the very truths of God’s word because human judgment cannot comprehend the mysteries of His work is found in every district, in all ranks of society. It is taught in most of our schools and comes into the lessons of the nurseries. Thousands who profess to be Christians give heed to lying spirits. Everywhere the spirit of darkness in the garb of religion will confront you.

“If all that appears to be divine life were such in reality; if all who profess to present the truth to the world were preaching for the truth and not against it, and if they were men of God guided by His Spirit—I then might we see something cheering amid the prevailing moral darkness. But the spirit of antichrist is prevailing to such an extent as never before. Well may we exclaim: ‘Help, Lord; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men.’ I know that many think far too favorably of the present time. These ease-loving souls will be engulfed in the general ruin. Yet we do not despair. We have been inclined to think that where there are no faithful ministers there can be no true Christians, but this is not the case. God has promised that where the shepherds are not true He will take charge of the flock Himself. God has never made the flock wholly dependent upon human instrumentalities. But the days of purification of the church are hastening on apace. God will have a people pure and true. In the mighty sifting soon to take place we shall be better able to measure the strength of Israel. The signs reveal that the time is near when the Lord will manifest that His fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly purge His floor.

“The days are fast approaching when there will be great perplexity and confusion. Satan, clothed in angel robes, will deceive, if possible, the very elect. There will be gods many and lords many. Every wind of doctrine will be blowing. Those who have rendered supreme homage to ‘science falsely so called’ will not be the leaders then. Those who have trusted to intellect, genius, or talent will not then stand at the head of rank and file. They did not keep pace with the light. Those who have proved themselves unfaithful will not then be entrusted with the flock. In the last solemn work few great men will be engaged. They are self-sufficient, independent of God, and He cannot use them. The Lord has faithful servants, who in the shaking, testing time will be disclosed to view. There are precious ones now hidden who have not bowed the knee to Baal. They have not had the light which has been shining in a concentrated blaze upon you. But it may be under a rough and uninviting exterior the pure brightness of a genuine Christian character will be revealed. In the day time we look toward heaven but do not see the stars. They are there, fixed in the firmament, but the eye cannot distinguish them. In the night we behold their genuine luster.” Testimonies, vol. 5, 79-80.

What excuse will leaders, pastors and laity use in the judgment that is soon to come?

“We need to beware lest we suffer the same fate as did ancient Israel. The history of their disobedience and downfall has been recorded for our instruction, that we may avoid doing as they did. It has been written ‘for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.’ If we pass by these cautions and warnings, developing the same traits of character developed by the Israelites, what excuse can we plead?” Review and Herald, July 10, 1900.

The patience of our loving Saviour Jesus Christ has waited now 160 years for His beloved remnant church to fulfill its mission. God will not long continue His wonderful loving patience.

“My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and upon every high hill: yea, my flock was scattered upon all the face of the earth, and none did search or seek after them.” Ezekiel 34:6-7.

“Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel? Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth. When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.” Ezekiel 33:11-13.

God’s message of warning is before the leaders of the church, the pastors and the lay leaders. There is great wickedness among us. Many of our pastors are preaching like the Evangelical world. Some are celebrating like Pentecostals with worship and music. Remember ancient Israel is now becoming our history. Could it be that we have done worse than the ancient church?

“I saw that many who profess to believe the truth for these last days think it strange that the children of Israel murmured as they journeyed; that after the wonderful dealings of God with them, they should be so ungrateful as to forget what He had done for them. Said the angel: ‘Ye have done worse than they.’ I saw that God has given His servants the truth so clear, so plain, that it cannot be resisted. Wherever they go, they have certain victory. Their enemies cannot get round the convincing truth. Light has been shed so clear that the servants of God can stand up anywhere and let truth, clear and connected, bear away the victory. This great blessing has not been prized, or even realized. If any trial arises, some begin to look back and think they have a hard time. Some of the professed servants of God do not know what purifying trials are. They sometimes make trials for themselves, imagine trials, and are so easily discouraged, so easily hurt, self-dignity is so quick to feel, that they injure themselves, injure others, and injure the cause. Satan magnifies their trials and puts thoughts into their minds that if given way to, will destroy their influence and usefulness.” Testimonies, vol. 1, 129.

Airlines to Require More Passenger Data

WASHINGTON -- Airlines this week will begin requiring some people making reservations for domestic flights to submit their dates of birth and genders as part of a screening process aimed at keeping boarding passes out of the hands of suspected terrorists, the Transportation Security Administration said.

The agency said the screening would all play out behind the scenes, meaning there should be no additional delays for passengers at airport terminals. The change will be phased in starting Saturday. Not all airlines are fully participating yet and might not request the data.

The TSA said it would be up to individual airlines or travel agents to decide how to collect the required information at the time a reservation is made. The program, called Secure Flight, is aimed at meeting congressional mandates, including those passed in 2007 to put into practice recommendations from the commission that investigated the 2001 terrorist attacks. The government's goal is to vet all passengers on domestic commercial flights by early next year.
The TSA said the additional data would make it easier for the agency to more accurately match prospective passengers with the thousands of names carried on the government's terrorism watch lists. The advanced-screening program is being phased in slowly. The first step came in May, when people making reservations were required to begin submitting their names exactly as they appear on government-issued identifications needed to board planes.

TSA officials have been criticized for refusing to allow passengers to board if their names were the same, or even similar, to those on the watch lists. Civil-liberties groups and privacy advocates have criticized the watch lists, saying they should be more narrowly focused on suspected terrorists. One government estimate put the number of names appearing on its lists at more than 700,000 two years ago.

TSA's own lists, however, are smaller. A TSA spokesman said the agency doesn't release updated information about its data, but officials said publicly late last year that there were fewer than 16,000 names on the lists TSA uses for banning fliers or for subjecting them to special scrutiny.

People who receive gate passes, which allow them to proceed into secure areas of airports without boarding passes so they can assist other passengers, also could be required to furnish the additional data. The agency said data-privacy measures would be used to protect passenger information.

Whatcom County planners propose controversial 'rural centers'

POSTED: Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009
JARED PABEN - THE BELLINGHAM HERALD

The Whatcom County Planning Commission will continue reviewing a controversial proposal to draw lines around certain rural centers and trim development potential outside those lines.

The proposal by county planners would designate areas throughout rural Whatcom County as rural centers, where either housing or business development has been clustered historically and is higher in density than state law now considers "rural."

Planners have drawn boundaries around these areas. They're proposing to change zoning inside the boundaries to allow development to continue with the same uses, sizes and densities as was there in 1990. Outside of the boundaries, zoning would be changed to allow only rural growth.

In many cases, that means land currently zoned to allow one or two houses per acre, as examples, would be rezoned to allow only one house per 10 acres. Also, some areas outside the boundaries zoned for commercial or industrial development would be rezoned to one house per 10 acres.

The proposal has been met with fierce opposition by some county residents, who are calling it a government land grab, while others support protecting rural farmland.

The review of rural zoning was ordered by a state growth board, a decision that was later upheld by a state appeals court. The county must rezone areas that allow more development than one house per five acres, which is what state law considers "rural," according to a county planner staff report.

While most areas outside of the rural center boundaries would be rezoned to allow only one house per 10 acres, many of those areas have lots smaller than 10 acres.

"Relatively few lots larger than five or ten acres still exist," according to the report by planners Wain Harrison and Gary Davis.

Lots of 10 acres or larger could have only one house and couldn't be subdivided to allow for more homes. But owners of smaller vacant lots could still legally build a house or an addition or remodel to an existing house, the report states.

People opposed to the change have posted signs throughout rural areas against zoning changes. Between June 23 and July 23, county planners received about 240 comments from the public about the proposed changes. Whatcom County's Web site has about 300 letters and e-mails scanned and posted.

Comments have ranged from the formal resolution approved by the Whatcom Republicans, which called the proposal "a 'taking' of private property from the citizens of Whatcom County," to a hand-written letter from Lynden resident Sylviana Gilfillan.

"The rights of private property owners are being trampled as county planners push through sweeping regulations without fully informing landowners of the negative impact on their property," Luanne Van Werven, chairwoman of Whatcom Republicans, stated in a press release sent to the county.

Gilfillan wrote in support of protecting farmland at Interstate 5 and Birch Bay-Lynden Road.

"Rural business centers are a bad idea!" Gilfillan wrote. "Birch Bay-Lynden Road at I-5 - is someone crazy? This is some of the finest farmland in the county. We need the open space to grow food, pasture, beef or cows. Towns and B'Ham need to stay with current borders. We have too much sprawl as is."

The Planning Commission is scheduled to hold a work session Aug. 13, and staff has reserved the County Council Chambers Sept. 8 for a commission public hearing.

THE SECOND AMERICAN REVOLUTION HAS ARRIVED

THE SECOND AMERICAN REVOLUTION HAS ARRIVED

By Betty Freauf

August 12, 2009
NewsWithViews.com

You’ve heard President Barack Obama’s chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel’s statement about never passing up a crisis? The disgruntled grass roots are rising up against any government health care plan. House speaker Pelosi and others are calling the uprising “Astroturfing” suggesting that it really isn’t true grassroots but some organization behind the scenes are doing what Barack Obama did as a “community organizer” and now that the tables are turned on them by individuals and not collective actions by some community organizer, they are perplexed.

My own neophyte Congressman Kurt Schrader in office for the first time since January is in our area but his staff advises me he is having no open town hall meetings and this was confirmed on a recent radio station. He is simply meeting one on one with people. These traitors to our Constitutional Republic are traveling with bodyguards and police protection in some areas. In our representative government the power flows from God to the citizen to representatives. People elect legislators, Congress people, senators, presidents, governors and judges and the officials are accountable to the electorate, not the other way around. Constitutional rights and due process are upheld and limited government is the result. However, in direct government also known as mobocracy, which we are experiencing now is the result of the people ruling by emotions causing lawmakers to legislate on impulse. There are no absolutes and righteousness. The staff at my Congressman’s office didn’t know these entitlements that are breaking our country are unconstitutional. He didn’t seem to have a clue!

Recognizing Obama’s diminishing popularity with those who are suffering voter remorse, I find it to be an act of desperation by the Democrats as they are going on an attack of people who are opposing the Obama socialist agenda calling them among other things, “angry mobs.” The Democrats have complete control so why are they so paranoid? Maybe they fear disgruntled Americans may start throwing shoes toward elected officials showing disgust and disrespect as they do in Muslin countries.

The Obama administration seems completely ignorant and tone deaf if they can’t realize these are people of all different stripes from all parties so I have come to the conclusion that Obama is trying to goad what he sees as “evil-right wingers” into doing something more serious and my great fear is that some idiot is going to take the bait. My first inclination was the Obama administration would arrange to have deliberate agitators sent into these meetings. FOX listeners saw on their television news the appropriately dressed and armed Black Panthers and by their very presence intimidating voters in an incident in Philadelphia last November. Attorney General Eric Holder decided not to pursue a civil criminal indictment against them. Please remember this same A.G. Holder classifies pro-lifers and pro-gun Americans as terrorists. And now I hear Obama has sent e-mails to his ACORN and SEIU union thugs to infiltrate these town hall meetings and Pelosi is referring to the protestors as Nazis. This could get ugly! Is it President Barack Obama’s hidden intent to then sign an Executive Order declaring Martial Law? Martial Law is rule by the military and comes into existence when civil government can no longer maintain law and order. The Posse Comitatus Act doesn’t allow government to use our military against citizens but it didn’t stop President Clinton and Attorney General Reno at Waco, Texas when they attacked the Branch Davidian killing innocent people. If this is the case, the Constitution, Bill of Rights and Writ of Habeas Corpus (right to trial by jury) can be suspended. In any late fascist shift, the final stage is the establishment of government by emergency decree or actual Martial law and the leader is above the law and he becomes the decider – not the uniter as Obama claimed in the presidential campaign.

The Feds already have a plan in place to train clergy to “quell dissent” during Martial Law. In 1962 the Supreme Court redefined the separation of church and state. The court wrote its own commandments and expelled prayer and Bible reading from public schools leaving a vacuum for drugs, sex, occult religions and guns to fill. These double minded sycophants want “separation of church and state” but now they suddenly would want pastors to “quell dissent” when they should be busy winning people to the Lord. They decry Christian involvement in public policy while at the same time they want to use pastors to facilitate tyranny? Unbelievable! Constitutionalist and Congressman Ron Paul says the stock market will eventually collapse but Martial Law provisions are in place to deal with economic discord. So it is apparent they have long been aware that the possibility of continued, unrestrained unconstitutional centralized government with Caesar as arbiter of morals and “truth” was going to cause a problem.

It is common knowledge to those who are informed and not brainwashed that enemies attack when their target is most weakened and divided and an Executive Order by the “uniter”, President Barack Obama for Martial Law, would serve the purpose of further weakening and dividing our nation creating an atmosphere for our enemies to invade. It’s called Politics of Distraction Eternal encirclement, plus internal demoralization plus thermonuclear blackmail leads to progressive surrender. That long as been the goal of the communists and China has devoted much of its newly found economic strength to building one of the most modern armies in the world. Their one-child policy aborts baby girls but favors boys for a strong military. America’s capitalists and government leaders at the highest level and even our consumers are willing to ignore China’s egregious human rights abuses as long as the entrepreneurs make profits, the government officials get campaign contributions and the consumers are able to buy cheap goods. We may have bought the rope that will hang us!

Whether or not the Chicago rioters of ’68 intended, an article in the 9/1/2008 New American said the effect of their actions was to further empower the government they claim to oppose, and to further erode the personal freedoms of all Americans. One of the most important results along those lines was the creation of the Law Enforcement Assistance Administration, the main federal agency that has been involved in nationalizing our local police departments over the past four decades.

At the World Trade Organization conference in Seattle in 1999, riots occurred and troops had to be called in for mass arrests. Was it a psychological game plan to prepare American for a coming state of emergency? Other miscellaneous military actions in cities across the U.S. have occurred scaring the daylights out of people who were not informed about what was going on and only reported in the areas in which they occurred.

The April 1999 McAlvany newsletter reported that as part of the new Clinton anti-terrorism initiative, the U.S. Army conducted a series of exercises near Corpus Christi, Texas. Without notice to local residents, black helicopters with elite troops from Fort Bragg, North Carolina, descended upon the towns of Kingsville and Port Aransas bombs bursting and guns blazing, with real explosive and live ammunition, simulating a raid against real terrorists. Additional military exercises were held in Anniston, Alabama and Monterey, California.

When the Rajneesh invaded Central Oregon in the early 1980s and followers from the world came to Oregon to worship the Baghwan, our Governor Vic Atiyeh carried a Martial Law order with him at all times fearing violence by the Rajneeshee. When Martin Luther King was shot, rioting in Washington, D.C. caused Martial Law to be declared throughout the city and troops were marching up and down.

Our law enforcement systems have gradually been transformed into Soviet-type management of the American people. Law enforcement that once was a shield of the innocent is now a weapon in the hands of government. With the passage of the USA Patriot Act and all legislation following has effectively militarized law enforcement in the U.S. In 2004 Democrat presidential candidate Senator John Kerry spoke of a comprehensive commitment to national service by Americans of all ages, telling college students “change starts with you” and giving aid for college tuition for national service and now we hear President Barack Obama suggesting the same program. Volunteerism is already a requirement for high school seniors to graduate. Could this easily develop into something reminiscent of Hitler’s Brown Shirts? You say it couldn’t happen here? Read by a retired sheriff far more knowledgeable than I am.

Remember the border patrol agents, Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean who were sent to prison for doing their jobs? Well, recently I read in Jerome Corsi’s 2007 book The Late Great USA that presidential administrations since the passage of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) have pursued strategies consistent with precipitating a merger of the U.S., Mexico and Canada (North American Union). Mexico demanded the prosecution of these Border patrol agents and President George W. Bush and his Attorney General Alberto Gonzales complied. And then Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila, the illegal Mexican smuggling drugs across the border who got shot in the butt turned around and sued the Border Patrol for $5 million for violating his civil rights. Corsi writes the Bush administration’s lack of protection of our Southern border and his close ties with U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton in El Paso who decided to protect “the civil rights” of illegal immigrants, even when they were involved in smuggling large quantities of marijuana into the United States further frustrated many Americans.

Readers will recall it was under President Bill Clinton and the Republican controlled Congress that we were given NAFTA. House Speaker at that time was Newt Gingrich, frequent guest on FOX. Talk show host, Rush Limbaugh also promoted NAFTA. Mexico’s intervention into American border law enforcement is another indication of our gradual ceding of our sovereignty. Corsi writes our government has lost the resolve to secure our borders and to enforce our laws. The message from the White House to the Border Patrol and all other law enforcement officers couldn’t be clearer: When it comes to illegal aliens, “hands off!” After the Ramos-Compean imprisonment, all law enforcement officers encountering illegal aliens now must consider the political ramifications of their actions…they could end up in prison! A 5/5/1969 article by Susan L.M. Huch in the American Opinion wrote that the whole pattern of drug abuse meshes nicely with the Communist campaign to generate hostility toward law-enforcement personnel and to foment conflict between the generations. It is therefore not at all surprising that at the base of the promotion of marijuana are hundreds of “underground” Marxist tabloids, pushing drugs at American youth as instant Nirvana.

In addition to calling the disgruntled “right wingers” an “angry mob” and “Nazis,” to add insult to further injury now the Obama administration has established a “squeal” website for people to report about alleged falsehoods by their friends, relatives and neighbors about the House health plan that even Barack doesn’t know what is in it. They are looking for snitches. This only inflames people, which leads me to believe this is all planned. Barack wants trouble!!!

The Obama administration hates the free enterprise system and now insurance companies in general, who often must abide by silly state regulations such as in vitro, birth control pills and abortions that drives up the cost. I’ve been told insurance companies pay a percentage to states for every premium they collect. Think of the additional revenue the states will lose if all the insurance company employees are put out of work but think of the jobs in Washington, D.C. that will be required to administer yet another bogus governmental agency and all of them will be on the premium health care plan that the elected officials enjoy. Think Job Patronage.

The breakdown of social values has created moral, spiritual and political chaos opening the door for the political tyranny. Forgetting that eternal vigilance is the price of liberty, materialistic and hedonistic Americans who weren’t paying attention to national problems and ignoring the few voices crying out in the wilderness as our freedoms were unraveling stitch by stitch are trying to play catch up; however, they are finding great opposition because the enemy is well organized while new comers haven’t even been to boot camp not alone ready to fight the battle. Glenn Beck’s 9/12 project is a step in the right direction so it is Onward Christian Soldiers.

ARE YOU A CHURCH WORSHIPPER?

ARE YOU A CHURCH WORSHIPPER?

By Paul Proctor
August 11, 2009
NewsWithViews.com

Well, another Leadership Summit has come and gone at Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, Illinois – a yearly conference led by its senior pastor and Willow Creek Association’s Chairman of the Board, Bill Hybels. They reportedly drew over 6000 attendees this year with some 60,000 watching a live broadcast of the event. They’ve been holding these annual gatherings for 13 years.

In a recent Christian Post article, Hybels once again revealed the humanist nature of the infamous seeker-sensitive church growth movement by posing the question:

"Do we still believe the local church is the hope of the world?"

You see, many Christians might look at that and not realize they’ve been subjected to a dialectic question designed to alter their spiritual priorities and get them onboard an alternative agenda. This is what trained facilitators do under the radar in many churches today.

But I would ask: Is that where your hope lies – in the local church?

Do you believe your church can save the world?

Did it save you?

There are a lot of misguided Christians today who have a misplaced faith and hope in their church. This makes them easy targets for church growth consultants who know all too well how to play on the egos, ambitions and insecurities of both laymen and staff wanting their church to be bigger and better than the one across town.

When we covet the “success” of others, we make ourselves vulnerable to smooth-talking opportunists who will gladly step in and exploit our weaknesses and shortcomings upon invitation. The result is that we end up depending on them and their programs, techniques, strategies and surveys instead of God and His Word.

But the Church cannot save.

The Church is the saved.

Did the members of your local congregation live perfect lives, heal the sick, raise the dead and die on a cross for your sins and mine and then rise from the grave three days later? Did they also ascend into Heaven and sit at the right hand of God the Father to make intercession for you and me there?

Does John 3:16 read: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Church, that whosoever believeth in them should not perish, but have everlasting life?”

If not, then, why should you and I rest our hope in a local church – especially in the compromised, corrupt and declining state that many of them now find themselves? If you haven’t been keeping up – more folks are leaving churches now than are joining. That tells me they aren’t finding much hope in them anymore.

With one little question, Bill Hybels took his audience’s attention and focus off of Jesus Christ – a lost world’s only real hope – and placed it on a group of mere mortals calling them the “hope of the world.”

Shall we give honor, glory and praise to the Bridegroom or the bride?

Will we follow the Good Shepherd or His sheep?

Am I suggesting that the local church is no place for Christians?

Absolutely not!

They are the Christians! Or at least they are supposed to be.

What I am saying is that we need to stop putting our hope and faith in people and their self-exalting, self-justifying, self-serving organizations and institutions, local or otherwise. It’s time to start reading, learning, obeying and proclaiming God’s Word – all of it – instead of snappy slogans, corny clichés, vain visions and the silly strategies of men.

We ought to be about seeking God’s face first and new faces for our sanctuary second. It’s as if we believe manually growing our congregation somehow enlarges our God. But that’s church worship, not God worship! And if we declare our church, man-made or not, to be “the hope of the world,” then we are little more than idolaters.

Jesus rebuked religious leaders for putting their hope in the Temple. Are we any less guilty today for putting our hope in a religious building’s inhabitants? If that isn’t humanism, I don’t know what is.

It doesn’t surprise me that Bill Hybels believes that though. He’s in the church business. He’s a salesman and that’s his product.

I should also point out that according to Christian Today, Saddleback Church’s Purpose Driven pastor, Rick Warren, is currently writing a new book entitled: The Hope of the World.

Coincidence?

I doubt it.

The church growth movement, you see, worships a two-headed god called “Results” and “Relationships” where nothing gets in the way of either – even God’s Word. It was first encountered in the Garden of Eden.

The religion of Results persuades us to, like Eve, take and eat of “the tree of the knowledge of good and evil” even when the Lord says: “Thou shalt not.” But we do anyway because we believe the end justifies the means – and we’re convinced it’s for a “good cause.”

Today, many trained facilitators in leadership positions have infiltrated the church and convinced gullible and covetous Christians that if they rely on market principles and surveys, they’ll get the Results they’re after – which may or may not have anything to do with the Word and Will of God.

We call that “pragmatism.”

God calls it sin.

The religion of Relationships teaches us to, like Adam, “hearken unto the voice” of those we love rather than the One Who created them – especially if it keeps the “unity of the body” – contrived and illicit that unity may be. So, we take the experiential advice of well-meaning friends, loved ones and associates and treat it as authoritative – especially when it is what we want to hear – instead of praying, waiting and laboring in the Word for wisdom and truth. In the end, God’s Will is, at best, relegated to one of many opinions.

We call that “consensus.”

God calls it sin.

The Christian Post went on to say that Hybels “encouraged leaders to re-invent new strategies that would serve as self-replenishment.”

No word yet on where he found that in scripture.

Doesn’t sound anything like the 23rd Psalm though – that old strategy that says: “He restoreth my soul” and “leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.”

You cannot serve both God and Money

No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Conflicts to get more 'pernicious': ICRC chief

International Commitee of the Red Cross president Jakob Kellenberger

(AFP) – 2 hours ago

GENEVA — Conflicts will get ever more "pernicious," the ICRC's chief said Wednesday on the 60th anniversary of the Geneva Conventions, as he made a fresh plea for armed groups and states to protect civilians and detainees.

"On the 60th anniversary of the Geneva Conventions, I make a heartfelt plea to states and non-state armed groups who are also bound by their provisions to show the requisite political will to turn legal provisions into a meaningful reality," said Jakob Kellenberger, president of the International Committee of the Red Cross.

"I urge them to show good faith in protecting the victims of armed conflicts - conflicts that in view of the challenges I have mentioned today are likely to become ever-more pernicious in the years to come," he added.

The Geneva-based ICRC is the internationally-recognised guardian of the 1949 laws protecting civilians, detainees, the wounded and humanitarian workers in conflicts. The conventions have been ratified by 194 countries.

But the ICRC says there have been violations on a "regular basis" in the field, ranging from the mass displacement of civilians to indiscriminate attacks and ill-treatment of prisoners.

After the September 11, 2001 terror attacks in the United States, the ICRC also became embroiled in a tussle with the then US George W. Bush administration over the treatment of detainees from Afghanistan, torture, secret detention and the scope of the conventions.

Amid challenges ranging from rising internal conflicts to the blurring of lines between combatants and civilians, Kellenberger said more clarity was needed on certain aspects of the conventions in order to ensure better compliance and enforcement.

A guidance document was published two months ago by the ICRC detailing who constitutes a civilian, and work is ongoing to elaborate on issues such as those related to displacement and detainees, he said.

"Based on a comprehensive assessment of the conclusions of this research, which is still underway, a case will be made for the clarification or further development of specific aspects of the law," added Kellenberger.

In displacement issues, questions needing clarification include the right to voluntary return, the need to preserve family unity and the prohibition of forced return, he said.

"Precise rules" surrounding the treatment and conditions of detention, such as the detainees' right of contact with the external world, are also lacking, Kellenberger said.

In addition, a legal definition of non-international conflict also needs to be developed, he said, in order to close loopholes that could be exploited.

"The existence of an armed conflict may be refuted so as to evade the application of IHL (international humanitarian law) altogether," he said.

"Conversely, other situations may inaccurately or prematurely be described as an armed conflict, precisely to trigger the applicability of IHL and its more permissive standards regarding the use of force, for example," he added.

The LORD Will Protect His People

Psalm 121

1I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

2My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

3He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

4Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

5The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.

6The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

7The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.

8The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

WHY ARE INTERNMENT CAMPS BEING BUILT?

WHY ARE INTERNMENT CAMPS BEING BUILT?

By Chuck Baldwin

August 11, 2009

NewsWithViews.com

The Internet is abuzz with news about the construction of internment camps all across America. Of course, "mainstream" media outlets refuse to touch the subject; or if they do, they pooh-pooh the story; they do what Glenn Beck recently did: try to debunk the story as fallacious and impugn people who speak of it as "conspiracy nuts." The fact that the Becks, Hannitys, Limbaughs, and O'Reillys of the media circus refuse to deal with the construction of large numbers of internment camps does not make them disappear, however.

For starters, all anyone need do to begin a serious investigation of the subject of internment camps is Google the phrase "FEMA Camps." There is more than enough evidence in that search engine alone to keep one busy with some in-depth private investigation of the subject for quite a while.

As people read my columns all across America, I have had numerous readers contact me, saying that they have personally witnessed the transportation of construction materials used for internment camps, have actually worked in and around them, or have personally seen such camps. These eyewitness testimonies have come from very credible people, including law enforcement and military personnel, as well as airline pilots and construction workers.

Just a few weeks ago, I was aboard a cross-country flight when the passenger I was sitting next to (a total stranger) asked me to take a look out the window. He asked, "Do those look like internment camps to you?" I was astonished that the man (1) would even know to notice such a potentiality, and (2) would be so bold as to ask such a question of a total stranger. I must say, I was extremely happy to make his acquaintance. And we had a very warm and invigorating discussion the rest of the trip.

We were flying over Colorado, over extreme wilderness terrain, and, yes, right in the middle of nowhere, the buildings and surrounding features that I saw sure looked like internment camps to me. Of course, flying at over 30,000 feet in the sky makes it difficult for any kind of detailed analysis to take place; that is for sure.

Then, a friend recently brought this URL to my attention.

This is an advertisement by the National Guard promoting the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) of "Internment/Resettlement Specialist." Question: why does the National Guard need to recruit Internment/Resettlement Specialists? What do they know that we should know?

Furthermore, I have had military personnel tell me that many of the US military bases that have been recently "closed" are also being prepared as large-scale "holding areas."

Obviously, the question that begs to be asked is, "Who is the US government planning to intern and resettle?" And another question is, "How many people are they planning to intern that would require the massive number of camps that are apparently being constructed?"

Some suggest that these facilities are being prepared for large numbers of illegal immigrants. This seems extremely doubtful, however, considering the propensity of the federal government to (1) do next to nothing to seriously curtail the flood of illegal aliens into America, (2) do virtually nothing to apprehend illegals known to be in the US, and (3) do everything it can to facilitate the release of those illegals incarcerated by State and local authorities. To think that the federal government intends to place thousands of illegal aliens in internment camps borders on lunacy. If anything, the federal government (with either Democrats or Republicans in charge) has done everything it can to (1) entice illegals to come to America, and (2) provide every incentive for them to stay illegally in this country after having entered. I feel safe in saying that we can eliminate the possibility that these camps are being prepared for illegal aliens.

Others suggest that these internment camps are being constructed to accommodate "enemy combatants" from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Yet, the total number of these types of detainees is miniscule compared to the detention space being constructed. Can one really imagine the need to build facilities that could accommodate prisoners numbering in the tens of thousands to house a few hundred foreign troops? I don't think so.

Then, of course, there are those who continue to deny that these internment camps exist at all. But then, were there not thousands of Germans who denied the existence of concentration camps during World War II? These types of people would refuse to believe the sun came up in the east if the government spinmeisters told them it didn't.

That our federal government is building large numbers of "holding areas" or internment camps seems to be an established fact. The only questions that remain are "Why?" and "For whom?"

At this point, the imagination can take us anywhere, but it is not a little disconcerting when the same federal government that is building these internment camps begins categorizing Christians, conservatives, people who support the Second Amendment, people who oppose abortion and homosexual marriage, people who oppose the North American Union and the New World Order, people who oppose the United Nations and illegal immigration, and people who voted for Ron Paul or Chuck Baldwin as "extremists," or "potential dangerous militia members."

Anyone knows that before a government can begin persecuting and imprisoning large groups of people, they must first marginalize them. As someone said, "Just because you are paranoid does not mean they really aren't trying to get you."

In fact, an argument could be made that by today's politically correct definition, America's Founding Fathers would be categorized as "paranoid," "extremists," or "potential dangerous militia members." I would even go so far as to question the patriotism of anyone today that is not a little paranoid. This federal government has certainly earned whatever paranoia citizens feel.

Feelings of paranoia notwithstanding, why is the federal government constructing large numbers of internment camps, and who does the government plan on incarcerating in those camps? Those questions still need to be answered.

P.S. If you live within driving distance of Oklahoma City, or Tulsa, Oklahoma, I will be appearing at several events in this area this Thursday and Friday, August 13 and 14. I would love to meet any of my readers who could attend these meetings. For details, go here.

Hillary Clinton Fights Back: 'I Will Not Be Channeling My Husband'

State Department Backs Off Claim Clinton Lost Her Cool Due to Mistranslation

By MARTHA RADDATZ and KIRIT RADIA

Aug. 11, 2009

The State Department today suggested there is more to the story of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's curt response Monday to a Congolese student who seemed to ask her to give her husband's opinion on a local issue.

Secretary of State Clinton gets irked when a student asks her what Bill thinks. On Monday, at a town hall in Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo, a Congolese student asked the secretary and former NBA basketball player Dikembe Mutombo a question through an English translator.

"We've all heard about the Chinese contracts in this county, the interferences from the World Bank against this contract. What does Mr. Clinton think, through the mouth of Mrs. Clinton, and what does Mr. Mutombo think on this situation?" the translator said.

Clinton paused nearly nine seconds before responding.

"Wait, you want me to tell you what my husband thinks? My husband is not the secretary of state. I am. So, you ask my opinion, I will tell you my opinion. I'm not going to be channeling my husband," she said sharply.

Muted clapping and laughter could be heard from the audience, but most students may have likely been confused. It turned out the student had intended to ask about President Obama's opinion, not former President Bill Clinton's.

Clinton spokesman P.J. Crowley was very careful in his comments today, saying he doesn't know exactly what happened, but he suggested that the questioner misspoke instead of the translator, as Clinton aides first suggested on Monday.

P.S. Folks, we can add another Crowley to the list.
