The Secret of The Omega!

THE SECRET OF THE OMEGA!

ALPHA/OMEGA WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU!

The following article we picked up was presumably written in 1995 as a handout. Please understand that conditions are not visibly quite the same now. The apostasy referred to in this article has slowed some, although it has not nearly stopped:

(Here's an excerpt)

THE SECRET OF THE OMEGA

1. THE SEATS OF THE ACTORS HAVE SWITCHED!

2. YOUR WORST ENEMIES ARE NOW ON THE INSIDE OF THE CHURCH ORGANIZATION, NOT THE OUTSIDE!

3. YOUR BEST FRIENDS ARE NOW ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE CHURCH ORGANIZATION, NOT THE INSIDE!

4. CHURCH IS HERE FOR YOUR SPIRITUAL HEALTH AND ULTIMATE SALVATION, AND STATE IS HERE FOR YOUR PHYSICAL WELL-BEING IN THE PROPER EXERCISE OF YOUR INALIENABLE RIGHTS. BOTH OF THESE ENTITIES WILL IMPERCEPTIBLY CHANGE. WHILE ONCE FORMERLY GEARED TOWARD YOUR PHYSICAL WELL-BEING AND ULTIMATE SALVATION, THESE TWO ENTITIES WILL BECOME GEARED FOR BOTH YOUR PHYSICAL AND ETERNAL DEATH.

5. EVERYTHING THAT WAS EVIL WHICH FOR GENERATIONS, BY THE MERCY OF GOD, REMAINED "IN THE CLOSET," WILL COME OUT IN FULL FORCE TO MAKE WAR WITH THE GOOD THAT KEPT THEM IN PRISON. AS THESE EVIL FORCES COME OUT, THEY WILL FORCE THE GOOD INTO THE SECLUSION THEY WERE FORMERLY CONFINED IN.

6. EVERYTHING THEREFORE WHICH WAS PUBLIC AND TRUSTED, THROUGH INFILTRATION WILL TURN EVIL; AND TRUTH WILL ONLY BE FOUND AMONG GROUPS AND INSTITUTIONS WHICH ARE PRIVATE.

7. THE OMEGA SYMBOL SYMBOLIZES THE GREATEST BETRAYAL OF MANKIND IN THE HISTORY OF THE EARTH IN BOTH CHURCH AND STATE. IN EVERY CASE, IT IS PROTESTANTISM THAT IS BEING ATTACKED. THE BIBLE IS BEING ATTACKED!

M. L. Andreasen

M. L. Andreasen
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

M.[ilian] L.[auritz] Andreasen (1876–1962), was a Seventh-day Adventist theologian, pastor and author.

He was one of the church's most prominent and influential theologians during the 1930s and 1940s. Andreasen promoted the teaching known popularly as Last Generation Theology, controversial for its views on atonement and salvation. Andreasen became well known for his protests against Adventist church leaders during the last years of his life.

Contents

Biography
Andreasen served as president of the Greater New York Conference (1909 - 1910), president of Hutchinson Theological Seminary (1910 - 1918), dean of Atlantic Union College (1918 - 1922), dean of Washington Missionary College (now Columbia Union College) (1922 - 1924), president of the Minnesota Conference (1924 - 1931), president of Union College, Nebraska (1931 - 1938), and field secretary of the General Conference (1941 - 1950). He taught at the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary (now located at Andrews University) from 1937 - 1949, and was recognized as a leading denominational scholar on the atonement and related topics.

Theology
As far back as 1937 Andreasen presented the package that took the implications of the Adventist faith to what he perceived to be their logical conclusion. His dispute with the church was over the theology of the atonement and humanity of Christ that was expressed in the 1957 book Questions on Doctrine (QOD). Andreasen argued that the book established a sinister change in Seventh-day Adventist theology. In his book, The Sanctuary Service, Andreasen had pulled this all together in the closing chapter, The Final Generation. Andreasen urged that QOD not be published, and argued extensively with church leaders to correct the ideas they eventually placed into print. Eventually QOD was published and Andreasen went public in identifying what he saw as problematic aspects of the book.
The church revoked his ministerial credentials in 1961, but reinstated him posthumously in 1962.[1]
Many "historic Adventists" and advocates of Last Generation Theology regard Andreasen as a significant figure in their theological heritage.

Timeline: A Year Of Financial Crisis

September 6, 2009

Politics and weather dominated headlines during the first week of September 2008. Sarah Palin made her national debut at the Republican National Convention, and Hurricane Gustav soaked much of the South.

But within days, the news had taken a drastic turn, as a series of stunning events paralyzed America's financial system and profoundly rattled the global economy. Stocks tumbled, and the credit markets short-circuited. Pale, frightened regulators, bankers and politicians tried haltingly to explain how they might avert an economic catastrophe.

The crisis had been long in the making. Home foreclosures had been rising at an unnerving rate for more than a year. Congressional efforts to contain the foreclosure mess had failed. By early September, investment banks were racking up huge losses tied to bad bets on mortgages. The whole housing sector was crumbling.

Read The Series Overview Read The Series Overview
Financial Crisis: One Year And Counting

Then the financial crisis hit with brute force. On Sept. 7, the federal government took over mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Separately, the board of Washington Mutual, the nation's largest savings and loan, fired its CEO because of massive mortgage losses.

On Sept. 14, a Sunday, an apparent free fall began. Bank of America announced that it would buy the collapsing Merrill Lynch to save it. But there was no saving Lehman Brothers that day. The once-mighty global financial-services firm, founded in 1850, was crushed by its massive debts and the unwillingness of the government to guarantee its survival.

Trying to bring calm before markets opened the next day, the Federal Reserve enigmatically announced extraordinary measures it was taking, "including enhancements to its existing liquidity facilities." Whatever the words, the meaning was clear: Financial markets were freezing up.

The rest of the month played out with one nightmarish development following another. The Fed slashed interest rates and threw an $85 billion rescue plan at insurance giant AIG. Federal regulators seized the failed Washington Mutual and immediately sold it to JPMorgan Chase for $1.9 billion. The Securities and Exchange Commission banned short-selling of financial-sector stocks; Congress geared up for speedy passage of a $700 billion bank bailout that became known as the Troubled Asset Relief Program.

On and on went the scramble, and down and down went confidence. Commercial paper markets froze up. That spooked businesses that needed short-term loans to buy equipment and make payroll. So the Fed intervened there, too, to keep those markets going. Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley morphed into bank holding companies, putting an end to the glory days of investment banks. By month's end, the U.S. economy was plunging and plunging. And no one could tell how far it would fall.

In the coming days, NPR will revisit those nerve-racking days of just a year ago. We'll look at measures taken, the human toll and whether enough has been done to avert the next crisis.

.

Then whose shall those things be...?

16And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:

17And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?

18And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.

19And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.

20But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?

21So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

More on internment camps

MORE ON INTERNMENT CAMPS

By Chuck Baldwin

August 28, 2009

NewsWithViews.com

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote a column questioning why it was necessary for our federal government to be constructing internment camps all over America. See the original column here.
I felt it was time for someone such as me to publicly broach the subject. Needless to say, the response was overwhelming. Even more interesting is the fact that the web link to the National Guard Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) of "Internment/Resettlement Specialist" that I included in my column was removed shortly after the column was published. Was this a coincidence?

Of course, the U.S. Army still has their web site soliciting recruitment for "Internment/Resettlement Specialist" online. See it here.

Readers might also want to familiarize themselves with this story out of Fort Leavenworth:
Predictably, I heard from a sizeable number of readers who expressed concern about my "credibility." Some were more direct: descriptions such as "conspiracy nut," "lunatic," "fringe," etc., popped up quite often. Several readers dismissed the entire proposition on the basis that, apparently, the link I provided to a photo of one such camp that was reported in the Idaho Observer as a FEMA camp was actually constructed in another country. Which, if true, changes nothing, of course. Others pointed to a very shallow "exposé" published in Popular Mechanics that attempted (lamely) to debunk the whole notion of internment camps. (This was the same source Glenn Beck used to dismiss the idea.) See the report here.

Criticism and name-calling aside, after reading the responses from hundreds of readers (and examining the evidence they submitted), I am more convinced than ever that our federal government is, indeed, constructing large numbers of internment camps. And as one might expect, I heard from a large number of military and law enforcement personnel, which made the evidence even more compelling.

One statement from a retired Air Force colonel (who is still active in military associations and stays well-informed on military issues) was especially telling. He said, "The Indiana plant is an AMTRAK repair area--there are probably similar reasons for other facilities. [Which is, no doubt, true.] I was a primary member of 'Continuity of Operations' planning in my second tour in the Pentagon in the 1960s--such planning has continued apace! This country was--and to a large extent still is--totally unprepared for the after effects of nuclear exchange. The millions of casualties of humans and animals--notwithstanding the almost total loss of communications and government infrastructure like police, fire, emergency response, etc. THERE ARE AND SHOULD BE PLANS TO DECLARE MARTIAL LAW to keep order, to provide assistance for food, shelter, medical, etc. FEMA was designed to do this work to fill the terrible losses in continuity of operations, which would keep this country viable. Katrina is a tiny example of how an emergency can destroy an entire geographical area--and Katrina is just a minor example of where we would be as a result of a nuclear exchange. As with all things military you plan for the worst and hope for the best.

"We remain vulnerable to massive catastrophes in this country--natural or man-caused. We need to be prepared and FEMA with all its faults--BACKED BY THE MILITARY--is charged with this job." (Emphasis added.)

To learn more about "Continuity of Operations," to which the good colonel referred, start with these web sites:

Notice that the retired colonel did not challenge the existence of internment camps, but rather linked them, and military-backed FEMA, with martial law--and he saw nothing wrong with that. (Please note: the colonel brought up martial law; I did not. Plus, the colonel was not adversarial with me, but on the contrary, expressed familiarity and favor toward me.) Several military men who wrote me shared the colonel's sentiment. Some of them expressed concern about the impact these plans will have on freedom and constitutional government, while others seemed completely unconcerned regarding any potential encroachment that plans of military action against American citizens might have upon the Bill of Rights. What is enlightening, however, is the fact that, regardless of the personal position taken, none of the military personnel who wrote

me discounted the existence of internment camps.

Since the colonel brought up martial law, U.S. Congressman Paul Broun (R-GA) recently indicated that he believed the U.S. government was intending to do just that. See his comments here.

And last year, the San Francisco Chronicle published a major story regarding the potential for the federal government to suspend the Constitution and institute martial law. See the story here
In addition, is it a coincidence that a bill was recently introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives (H.R. 645) called the National Emergency Centers Establishment Act, which directs the Secretary of Homeland Security to establish "not fewer than 6 national emergency centers on military installations"? See the report here.

Is all of this information simply to be discarded as hysteria?

On the other hand, several readers chided me for being "late" to discuss the subject. And to be sure, some of these folks have done quite a bit of personal research and have amassed a large amount of data on the subject.

For example, readers supplied me with a plethora of material to substantiate the existence of large numbers of internment camps throughout the United States. I invite readers to peruse some of the information provided below and draw their own conclusions:

Of course, the above is merely a sample of the scores of resources that were forwarded to me by readers. I encourage people to do their own research.

Even Mr. Skeptoid himself, Brian Dunning, grudgingly acknowledges the probability of the existence of internment camps on U.S. soil. As with the retired Air Force colonel referred to above, Dunning senses nothing sinister about the existence of the camps, and he doesn't address the numbers part of the story, but he does admit the plausibility of their existence.

Dunning wrote, "When I first heard the FEMA Prison Camp conspiracy story, it seemed ridiculous and paranoid at face value. But when I finally dug in to research it, I started by searching for the origins of the rumors, and found to my surprise that nearly all of the legal foundation and precedent for such a plan does in fact exist."

As I was mulling over all this information, I remembered reading an interview that radio talk show host Geoff Metcalf had with author Ted Flynn regarding Flynn's (then) new book, "Hope of the Wicked: The Master Plan to Rule the World." According to Metcalf, "Flynn's book provides a strong historical basis to show that there is a global elite working to end the sovereignty of nations and to place every person on earth under the authority of the United Nations." This interview was conducted back in 2001, by the way.

In the interview, Metcalf asked Flynn, "Please explain what FEMA is. What is their authority and what is their job?"

Flynn replied, "The Federal Emergency Management Agency is probably going to be the enforcement arm of the New-World Order. Very few people could tell you that it is actually a cabinet position. By and large, a great percentage of their budget is 'black ops.' It's really not on the books. You only hear of them a little bit when there are disasters. But there is a great agenda to gather information for the government in stealth."

Metcalf then said, "I found it significant when Rep. Henry Gonzalez, D-Texas, clarified the question of the existence of civilian detention camps. In an interview a few years ago, he said, 'the truth is yes--you do have these standby provisions, and the plans are here . . . whereby you could, in the name of stopping terrorism . . . evoke the military and arrest Americans and put them in detention camps.' They DO exist."

Flynn replied, "They do."

Again, that our federal government has built large numbers of internment camps seems undeniable. What has not been determined is the purpose for which these facilities have been constructed. No one wants to believe that our government is planning evil designs upon us. Then again, neither did German Jews want to believe that their government was up to no good.

America's founders believed that a central government could not be trusted, which is why they tried to fence it in with the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights. Neither should citizens today trust the federal government. As President George Washington put it, "Government is not reason; it is not eloquence; it is force! Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master."

Therefore, keep a wary eye out for anything that the federal government could use to encroach upon our liberties and freedoms--even reports of internment camps. If the reports are bogus, you've lost nothing; but if they are real, you could end up losing your liberty.

Health Reform Town Hall

Dennis Spellman KIAH

*The video included in article was 'extremely perplexing' to post.
Video Link: http://www.39online.com/videobeta/watch/?watch=05ea1945-7cd3-4c14-bc9d-6a64d17042da&src=front

HOUSTON - Democrat Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee of Houston held her final town hall meeting on health care Saturday.

Some people who met at a northwest Houston Church simply had questions on how the plan would help them and their families. Most others voiced their opinions.

"I want to congratulate President Obama for trying to get this bill passed because we've been needing it for a long time," Atheal Hawthorne told Jackson Lee.

"It's really a mute point about what it's going to cost because we're already broke. Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, their all broke. We don't have the money for it, Chuck Jenkins told Jackson Lee.

Others say they want to support a health care bill, but not the one that's currently proposed.

"Is there wisdom in waiting? Is there wisdom in sitting back and having a formalized public discourse so we can get all these issues on the table and make something that I can say lets do it," Carl Morris asked the Congresswoman.

Many here say government health care is the moral thing to do. Others say it could be morally wrong too.

"I don't like having to pay for other people's abortions whether here or over seas," said Linda Lutkus.

Congresswoman Lee supports having a government run health program, and now before she goes back to Washington to vote on the issue.

Revisiting: I Am Legend

It was no coincidence that the 2007 film starring Will Smith and Alice Braga, dealt with the subject of a deadly virus. It was about an engineered virus intended to cure cancer, that eventually decimated the world's population in 2009. It seems as if the things that happen before our eyes are previously being telegraphed before they occur. This may be done for shock effect, or provided as a harbinger??? Now we find ourselves facing Labor Day, the last hurrah for the summer, and the return of children to school; We are also awaiting an (purported) advancing H1N1 Pandemic.
.
Do we see any parallels here?

The film, I Am Legend begins around the 5th of September, 2012; Robert Neville (W. Smith) is a sole-survivor in New York City, whose only companion is his dog Samantha. They systematically look for survivors, food, and hunt deer in Mid-Town Manhattan; He drives at high velocity down 7th Avenue, and Park Avenue, since there are no other humans alive to impede high speed. Scenes from the past (just before the Epidemic killed virtually killed everyone else) are intermittently flashed several times; when he relives the last moments with his family before they perished; This was supposedly a worldwide epidemic, yet, the film's focus is New York City (which was quarantined as the Pandemic progressed).

We are eventually introduced to the Darkseekers, a mutant breed of humans that are infected with the deadly virus, but, survive as nocturnal cannibals. Robert Neville's dog Samantha dies after an vicious encounter with darkseeker dogs. Well, not to bore you with the details, after a revenge attack on the mutants, Robert Neville crashes his SUV, and is rescued by Ann (Alice Braga), who with her son has travelled from Mary-land; They are on their way to a survivor colony in the mountains of Vermont.

At the end of the film, the Darkseekers enter Robert Neville's home in Washington Square, where Ann and her son Ethan have taken refuge. They eventually withdraw to the safety of the basement where R. Neville has a lab. Dr. Neville draws some of his blood (He is immune and has been working with this virus since before it became a Pandemic) and gives it to Ann and asks her to hide until he destroys the attacking darkseekers. Neville (he also dies) blows himself up, along with the mutants with a grenade, while Ann and Ethan hide in a Coal chute.

The final scene is a doosey:

Ann and her son Ethan, are driving on a country road (New England?) surrounded by fall colored trees; They arrive at a large gate in the road, they stop and start to walk towards the 10 foot tall gate that stretches from one end of the road to the other. Suddenly, the gate opens and there are armed men waiting and welcoming Ann and Ethan; Ann, then shakes a man's hand, and then hands him the vial of Neville's blood (the antibody). Here's the scenario as she walks into this compound: There is a White painted Church with a large steeple at the far end of the road, on the right there is an octagonal road sign indicating there is a stop sign ahead, and on the left side an American flag draping towards the road. Then, Ann recites this cryptic verse:

In 2009, a deadly virus burned through our civilization...
...pushing humankind to the edge of extinction.
Dr. Robert Neville dedicated his life...
...to the discovery of a cure...
...and the restoration of humanity.
on September 9th 2012...
...at approximately 8:49PM...
...he discovered the cure.
And, at 8:52 he gave his life to defend it.
We are his legacy.
This is his legend.
Light up the Darkness.

The End

Other Observations:
1.Twice during the film Robert Neville mentioned:

"This is Ground Zero"; "This is my site".

"I'm not gonna let this happen, I can fix this".

2.During the scenes when Ann and Robert Neville are in the Brownstone home in NYC;

Dr. Neville comes down the stairs and enters the living room where Ethan is sitting watching the animated film 'Shrek'.

Shrek dialogue:
Man: You there! Ogre.
By the order of Lord Farquaad...
...I am authorized to place you both under arrest...
...and transport you to a designated resettlement facility.

Shrek: Oh, Really? You and what army?

3.Twice during the film Dr. Neville tells Ann, "There is no God".

As I've stated before we are living in the strangest of times. However, we must sometimes listen to the nonsense that is produced for mass consumption, and notice the subliminal messages that accompany the so-called entertainment; Which is something that anyone with a discerning ear can decipher and interpret. Brethren, there are no coincidences in matters like these, especially when they mimic the current events. Stay tuned! Vigilance is the word.

No surprise in media coverage of Rifqa Bary

No surprise in media coverage of Rifqa Bary

September 5, 2:59 AMOakland Evangelical ExaminerJerry Wilson

Reading the assorted media accounts of the Rifqa Bary case, the words of Christ to His disciples come to mind: "If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you (Jn. 15:18-19)."

Although the words of Christ referenced the religious rulers of His time on this earth, there is direct application to not only Ms. Bary's situation where she ran away from home earlier this summer, fearing for her life from her Muslim parents as she had become a Christian, but life as believers know it today. (More background on Ms. Bary's case available here.)

It should never come as a surprise when the world acts like, well, the world. The apostle John wrote, "Do not be surprised, my brothers, if the world hates you (1 Jn. 3:13)." Christ Himself warned his followers, "Woe to you when all men speak well of you, for that is how their fathers treated the false prophets (Lk. 6:26)."

Just as it should not come as a surprise when the world hates us if we are genuinely following Christ by living our lives according to His example, it should not come as a surprise when the media treats believers as lepers. Traditional media is saturated with non-believers. Christians are scarce; respect for them and Christ even more scarce. How else could they treat us but with contempt and a condescending attitude?

Refer back to Rifqa Bary's case. CNN's most recent article maintains a veneer of even-handedness, yet quotes no one on Rifqa's side of the case while quoting her father. Meanwhile, it links to an article in Time magazine that drips with derision toward Rifqa, labeling her a liar while viciously slandering all who support her in her quest to worship Christ without fearing for her life.

It is a seeming paradox that in today's environment where traditional media is facing increased pressure from both charges of bias and an ever-shrinking revenue base as subscriptions and advertising both dwindle away that it would stubbornly cling to the kind of coverage referenced above. Yet it does. It is more addicted to its sin than any sense of what is necessary to survive.
With this as our reality, how then should we respond?

While isolation from the world is not only impractical but in direct violation of Christ's commandment to those of us who know and love Him to be His witness to the world, it is vital for believers to come together, drawing strength and encouragement from each other.

Also important is for Christians whenever possible to promote each other. The world does enough to lift up its own. We don't need to help. Many were offended when in this space Michelle Malkin was called out for employing an aggressive atheist as one of her main writers. Why? The world already wallows in its hatred of us. What justification is there for one who states they follow Jesus to inflict further hatred on fellow believers?

Finally, it is up to all believers to spread the truth. The world lies. Don't suffer its lies in silence. Use the tools at hand to counter lies with the truth. Speak accurately. Know the facts. Spread the word.

And pray for Rifqa Bary. Unfailingly.

Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth?

49I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?

50But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!

51Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:

52For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.

53The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

New US ambassador to Vatican sworn in at State Department ceremony

Monday, August 24, 2009
By Megan Sweas
By Patricia Zapor Catholic News Service

WASHINGTON (CNS) -- With a roomful of theologians, college professors and presidents, political activists, leaders of various church organizations, and family and longtime friends looking on, Catholic theologian Miguel Diaz was sworn in as ambassador to the Vatican Aug. 21.

In a brief, invitation-only ceremony in the ornate Benjamin Franklin room at the State Department, Assistant Secretary of State Phil Gordon administered the standard governmental oath of office and supervised as Diaz signed an assortment of official papers.

The process of stepping into the job as ambassador concludes with Diaz's formal presentation of his diplomatic credentials to the Vatican.

Diaz, a professor at St. John's University and the College of St. Benedict, both in Minnesota, is the first Hispanic and the first theologian to represent the U.S. at the Vatican. His predecessors have all come to the job with more extensive backgrounds in political activism or diplomacy.

Diaz was active in President Barack Obama's campaign, serving on his board of Catholic advisers and as a campaign representative at times, particularly with Spanish-language news media.

In brief comments after the ceremonial part of the event, Diaz said he would bring to the position at the Vatican a strong belief in Obama's commitment to the idea that "it's possible to disagree without being disagreeable."

Diaz said he believes Obama's presidency and approach to his office have "revived the American tradition that unity comes through diversity," which he intends to apply to his diplomatic position.

A native of Cuba who came to the United States as a child with his parents, Felix and Silvia Diaz, he was the first of his family to attend college. He is a former president of the Academy of Catholic Hispanic Theologians and a board member of the Catholic Theological Society of America. He is fluent in Italian, Spanish and French.

Diaz, 45, has been at St. John's and St. Benedict since 2004. Prior to that he taught at Barry University in Miami Shores, Fla.; St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary in Boynton Beach, Fla.; the University of Dayton in Ohio; and the University of Notre Dame in Indiana.

Colleagues from those schools and friends from around the country joined Diaz and his family and various political activists at the ceremony, which was not open to the general press.

As Diaz thanked people who have helped him prepare for the ambassadorship -- State Department personnel, White House representatives, Vatican nuncio Archbishop Pietro Sambi, colleagues and family members -- his father, who worked as a waiter to support his family in Miami, was among those in the room who became choked up with emotion.

"Thank you for all your sacrifices," Diaz told his parents.

He also echoed comments Gordon made about the entire Diaz family becoming ambassadors for the United States. Diaz and his wife, Marian, who has been director of a program for the theological exploration of vocations at St. John's and St. Benedict, have four children.

"The whole family will be ambassadors of the United States," Gordon said.

Diaz made a point of thanking the U.S. Senate for completing his confirmation process in time for his young children to be enrolled in school in Rome by the start of the school year.

Among those attending the ceremony were Cardinal Theodore E. McCarrick, retired archbishop of Washington; Archbishop Donald W. Wuerl, current head of the Washington Archdiocese; Archbishop Sambi; former U.S. ambassadors to the Vatican Lindy Boggs and Thomas Melady; the directors of Catholic Relief Services and Catholic Charities USA, Ken Hackett and Father Larry Snyder, respectively; Msgr. David Malloy, general secretary of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops; the presidents of The Catholic University of America and Georgetown University, Vincentian Father David O'Connell and John DiGioia, respectively; and Arturo Chavez, president of the Mexican American Catholic College in San Antonio.

P.S. Bolds and Highlights added.

If you ask me this (invitation-only ceremony) was nothing more than a government sanctioned Catholic ritual; An anointing of a catholic (emisary) envoy from the USA to the Vatican. Also, a violation of the Separation of Church and State.

What other religion receives so much pagentry and protocol?

Why is there a preference for the church of Rome? Why?

It's like the good-olde days, no? Capite, fratelli?

A Catholic theologian assigned as an Ambassador? How does his religious preparation qualify him to be an ambassador? Perhaps, a religious (separation of church and state) liason to the Vatican? Possibly an emissary; But, ambassador?

ATLANTA (Sept. 4) -- Plainclothes officers shot and killed a small-town pastor when the 28-year-old father-to-be resisted efforts to question him about a passenger in his car who was the target of a drug sting, authorities said.

Jonathan Paul Ayers of Shoal Creek Baptist Church in Lavonia wasn't targeted in the probe that ended in gunfire at a gas station Tuesday, Georgia Bureau of Investigation spokesman John Bankhead said. But drug task-force agents opened fire on him after he tried to avoid them, putting his car in reverse and striking one of the officers.

Pastor Jonathan Paul Ayers, seen with his wife Abby in an undated family photo, was due to become a father.

Bankhead said agents approached Ayers after he dropped a woman off at a store in downtown Toccoa, which is about 90 miles northeast of Atlanta. The passenger was the person being investigated by the task force.

A grainy surveillance video from a nearby store shows two drug task-force agents emerge from a black SUV before Ayers' small car backs up. The two men fire into the passenger side of Ayers' car, and then it takes off with the agents running behind it, the video posted on WNEG-TV in Toccoa shows. The station owner would not release the video to The Associated Press.

Bankhead said Ayers died Wednesday, about an hour after he had surgery. He said the agent who was hit by Ayers' car was treated for minor injuries.

Bankhead would not disclose the identity of the woman who was in Ayers' car, but said she's been charged with cocaine possession and distribution.

On Thursday, Ayers' brother-in-law Matt Carpenter said the pastor had nothing to do with drugs.

"Any question of his character, particularly involving something like drugs, is just ridiculous," he said.

Carpenter said Ayers and his wife had wanted to live in a town closer to their family, but they settled near the Lavonia church where Ayers felt called to be a pastor.

"They were exactly where they were supposed to be," Carpenter said, adding that they had recently led the small congregation's first mission trip, to Africa.

Carpenter said Ayers' wife, who is 16 weeks pregnant, is grappling with the idea of being a single mom.

"That's why it's hurting us all so badly," he said.

Ayers' wife declined to speak to The Associated Press.

Michael Jackson is finally interred
September 3, 2009 11:05 pm

Michael Jackson was finally interred in a crypt in Forest Lawn Memorial-Park in Glendale shortly before 10 tonight -- exactly 10 weeks after he was found dead. The outdoor service, which was scheduled for sunset but crept into the night, was attended by about 200 family members and close friends.

Jackson’s five brothers, who served as pallbearers, filed past a portrait of a smiling Michael as they arrived at the service. A bespectacled Paris, the singer's young daughter, wearing a dark dress and her long hair pulled back in a ponytail, watched soberly.

Jackson’s three children placed a crown on their father’s coffin, a nod to the King of Pop, as the service began. Gladys Knight sang the gospel hymn “His Eye is on the Sparrow,” and songwriter Clifton Davis crooned a song that he wrote for the Jackson 5 that became one of their signature tunes -- “Never Can Say Goodbye.”

The guests gathered in a tree-lined clearing near the Great Mausoleum where Jackson was interred. A stage was adorned with white lilies, white roses and green topiaries.

Among the mourners were many of the touchstones of his life: music producer Quincy Jones, Motown Records founder Berry Gordy and music executive Suzanne de Passe.

Also attending were Elizabeth Taylor; former child star Macaulay Culkin; lawyer Thomas A. Mesereau Jr., who successfully defended Jackson from child molestation charges; and choreographer-director Kenny Ortega, who was working on Jackson’s planned London shows. The Rev. Jesse Jackson, the Rev. Al Sharpton, former child actor Corey Feldman, Lisa Marie Presley -- Jackson’s former wife -- Marlon Brando’s son Miko and comic Chris Tucker were among the guests.

Relationships with Other Christian Churches and Religious Organizations

To avoid creating misunderstanding or friction in our relationships with other Christian churches and religious organizations, the following guidelines have been set forth:

1) We recognize those agencies that lift up Christ before men as a part of the divine plan for evangelization of the world, and we hold in high esteem Christian men and women in other communions who are engaged in winning souls to Christ.

2) When interdivision work brings us in contact with other Christian societies and religious bodies, the spirit of Christian courtesy, frankness, and fairness shall prevail at all times.

3) We recognize that true religion is based on conscience and conviction. It is therefore to be our constant purpose that no selfish interest or temporal advantage shall draw any person to our communion and that no tie shall hold any member save the belief and conviction that in this way the true connection with Christ is found. If a change of conviction leads a member of our church to feel no longer in harmony with Seventh-day Adventist faith and practice, we recognize not only the right but also the responsibility of that member to change, without opprobrium, religious affiliation in accord with belief. We expect other religious bodies to respond in the same spirit of religious liberty.

4) Before admitting to church membership members of other religious organizations, care shall be exercised to ascertain that the candidates are moved to change their religious affiliation by religious conviction and out of regard to their personal relationship with God.

5) A person under censure of another religious organization for clearly established fault in Christian morals or character shall not be considered eligible for membership in the Seventh-day Adventist Church until there is evidence of repentance and reformation.

6) The Seventh-day Adventist Church is unable to confine its mission to restricted geographical areas because of its understanding of the gospel commission's mandate. In the providence of God and the historical development of His work for men, denominational bodies and religious movements have arisen from time to time to give special emphasis to different phases of gospel truth. In the origin and rise of the Seventh-day Adventist people, the burden was laid upon us to emphasize the gospel of Christ's second coming as an imminent event, calling for the proclamation of Biblical truths in the setting of the special message of preparation as described in Bible prophecy, particularly in Revelation 14:6-14. This message commissions the preaching of the "everlasting gospel to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people" bringing it to the attention of all peoples everywhere. Any restriction which limits witness to specified geographical areas therefore becomes an abridgment of the gospel commission. The Seventh-day Adventist Church also acknowledges the rights of other religious persuasions to operate without geographic restrictions.

Barack Obama -- NLP Master Hypnotist?

Oratory—or hypnotic induction?
October 25th, 2008

Is Barack Obama a brilliant orator, captivating millions through his eloquence? Or is he deliberately using the techniques of neurolinguistic programming (NLP), a covert form of hypnosis developed by Milton Erickson, M.D.?

A fundamental tool of “conversational hypnosis” is pacing and leading—a way for the hypnotist to bypass the listener’s critical faculty by associating repeated statements that are unquestionably accurate with the message he wants to convey.
In his Denver acceptance speech, Obama used the phrases “that’s why I stand here tonight,” “now is the time,” and “this moment” 14 times. Paces are connected to the lead by words such as “and,” “as,” “because,” or “that is why.” For example, “we need change” (who could disagree?)…and…that is why I will be your next President.”

Techniques of trance induction include extra slow speech, rhythm, tonalities, vagueness, visual imagery, metaphor, and raising of emotion. Hypnotists often have patients count. In a speech after the primaries closed, Obama said: “Sixteen months have passed (paused)…Thousands (pause) of miles…(pause)…Millions of voices….”

Hypnotists call this a distraction technique: sending the dominant hemisphere on an assignment involving linguistic processes, thus opening the nondominant hemisphere to suggestion.

Hand gestures can be used as hypnotic anchors, or to aid in hypnotic command implantation. They can be difficult to distinguish from innocent gestures used for emphasis. Obama, however, uses some gestures extraordinarily often and for very specific words such as “believe” and “chose.” His characteristic thumb-and-forefinger gesture looks like a hand holding a pencil—as if you were in a voting booth. The gesture of pointing sends the subconscious message that a person in authority is giving a command.

Obama actually said at one time: “a light will shine down from somewhere, it will light upon you, you will experience an epiphany, and you will say to yourself, ‘I have to vote for Barack.’”

You will not choose to vote for Barack: you will “have to.” It is not a logical choice, but rather one directed by a mystical (subconscious) force. What purpose would a politician have for making such a statement? Obama used it only once. Perhaps he stopped either because he realized it was too obvious or because Hillary Clinton and John McCain ridiculed him for it.

Obama’s logo is noteworthy. It is always there, a small one in the middle of the podium, providing a point of visual fixation. Unlike other presidential logos, one looks through it, not at it. It might just be the letter “O,” but it also resembles a crystal ball, a favorite of hypnotists.

Obama is clearly having a powerful effect on people, especially young people and highly educated people—both considered to be especially susceptible to hypnosis. It is also interesting that many Jews are supporting a candidate who is endorsed by Hamas, Farakhan, Khalidi, and Iran.

While some believe that hypnosis is not real, others believe that it is very powerful, and very dangerous in the wrong hands. Dr. Erickson, father of modern hypnosis, was adamant that his techniques should only be used by physicians. In 1954, the U.S. Supreme Court decided in Leyra v. Denno that a confession obtained using hypnosis could not be used against the suspect in court.

Some Parents Oppose Obama Speech to Students

Some Parents Oppose Obama Speech to Students

JAMES C. McKINLEY Jr. and SAM DILLON
Published: September 3, 2009

HOUSTON — President Obama’s plan to deliver a speech to public school students on Tuesday has set off a revolt among conservative parents, who have accused the president of trying to indoctrinate their children with socialist ideas and are asking school officials to excuse the children from listening.

The uproar over the speech, in which Mr. Obama intends to urge students to work hard and stay in school, has been particularly acute in Texas, where several major school districts, under pressure from parents, have laid plans to let children opt out of lending the president an ear.

Some parents said they were concerned because the speech had not been screened for political content. Nor, they said, had it been reviewed by the State Board of Education and local school boards, which, under state law, must approve the curriculum.

“The thing that concerned me most about it was it seemed like a direct channel from the president of the United States into the classroom, to my child,” said Brett Curtiss, an engineer from Pearland, Tex., who said he would keep his three children home.

“I don’t want our schools turned over to some socialist movement.”

The White House has said the speech will emphasize the importance of education and hard work in school, both to the individual and to the nation. The message is not partisan, nor compulsory, officials said.

“This isn’t a policy speech,” said Sandra Abrevaya, a spokeswoman for the Department of Education. “It’s designed to encourage kids to stay in school. The choice on whether to show the speech to students is entirely in the hands of each school. This is absolutely voluntary.”

Mr. Obama’s speech was announced weeks ago, but the furor among conservatives reached a fever pitch Wednesday morning as right-wing Web sites and talk show hosts began inveighing against it.

Mark Steyn, a Canadian author and political commentator, speaking on the Rush Limbaugh show on Wednesday, accused Mr. Obama of trying to create a cult of personality, comparing him to Saddam Hussein and Kim Jong-il, the North Korean leader.

The Republican Party chairman in Florida, Jim Greer, said he “was appalled that taxpayer dollars are being used to spread President Obama’s socialist ideology.”

And Chris Stigall, a Kansas City talk show host, said, “I wouldn’t let my next-door neighbor talk to my kid alone; I’m sure as hell not letting Barack Obama talk to him alone.”

Previous presidents have visited public schools to speak directly to students, although few of those events have been broadcast live. Mr. Obama’s address at noon, Eastern time, at a high school in Virginia, will be streamed live on the White House Web site.

The first President George Bush, a Republican, made a similar nationally broadcast speech from a Washington high school in 1991, urging students to study hard, avoid drugs and to ignore peers “who think it’s not cool to be smart.” Democrats in Congress accused him of using taxpayer money — $27,000 to produce the broadcast — for “paid political advertising.”

This week, school officials were hearing from parents about the issue not only in Texas, but in other parts of the country as well — California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, South Carolina and Utah.

Herb Garrett, executive director of the Georgia School Superintendents Association, said many of his members felt that the controversy had put them in an awkward situation, vulnerable to attacks from conservative talk-show hosts if they open up instructional time for Mr. Obama’s speech, and open to accusations that they have disrespected the president if they do not.

“It’s one of those no-wins,” Mr. Garrett said.

In Texas, calls and e-mail messages flooded into the offices of many local school officials. “I didn’t get a positive call all day,” said Susan Dacus, a spokeswoman for the Wylie Independent School District outside Dallas.

School officials in Wylie decided to record the speech, review it and then let individual teachers show it, offering students the opportunity to avoid listening if they wished.

In Houston, teachers have been asked to tell parents if they intend to show the speech and the schools will provide an alternative class for those whose parents object, a spokesman for the district, Lee Vela, said.

Some Houston parents, however, said telling children they should not hear out the president of the United States, even if their parents dislike his policies, sends the wrong message — that one should not listen to someone with whom you disagree.

“It’s difficult for me to understand how listening to the president, the commander in chief, the chief citizen of this country, is damaging to the youth of today,” said Phyllis Griffin Epps, an analyst for the city who has two children in public school.
