Department of Homeland Security Faith-based Office Changes its Name

Posted by Terry Monrad on January 07, 2011 at 11:57 AM EST

Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Administrator Craig Fugate recently announced that the DHS Center for Faith-based & Community Initiatives has changed its name to the DHS Center for Faith-based & Neighborhood Partnerships. This change is meant to align the program with the White House Office of Faith-based & Neighborhood Partnerships and the 13 other existing faith-based centers in the federal government.

The Obama Administration created the White House Office of Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships in an effort to serve Americans in need through the development of partnerships between the federal government and faith-based and neighborhood organizations.

The White House Office coordinates the work of all twelve federal centers. The DHS Center is part of the FEMA Office of the Administrator and is housed at FEMA Headquarters but spearheads faith-based and neighborhood partnership efforts across all the DHS components.

“I share the President’s view that our Nation’s challenges - and FEMA’s mission - cannot be solved by government alone,” Fugate said. “We can only be successful if we cultivate strong partnerships with faith-based and community groups and truly integrate them as part of the team. Please continue to include David [Myers] and his team in meetings and communications with, or that relate to, faith-based, community, and neighborhood organizations.”

Obama to Parishioners: Keep the Faith

Vermont Avenue Baptist Church had the honors this time

Before leaving his wife on her birthday to stump for a Democratic Senate candidate in Massachusetts, President Barack Obama stepped into the same pulpit Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. did more than 50 years ago to talk about the legacy of the civil rights leader.

Speaking to an enthusiastic congregation of nearly 300 people at the Vermont Avenue Baptist Church, founded in 1866 by former slaves, Obama called King and those who fought with him for civil rights the “Moses generation.” He exhorted parishioners -- those he termed the “Joshua generation” -- to “get back to basics” as Americans faced the challenges of a “new age.”

It was the second time as President that Obama made an appearance at a local house of worship. As president-elect, Obama and his family attended services once at Nineteenth Street Baptist Church, a Northwest Washington institution that is one of the oldest historically black churches in the District, according to the Washington Post.

Once in office, the first family went to St. John's Episcopal Church near the White House for Easter mass.

But it was Vermont Avenue Baptist Church that had the honors this time. White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett and director of faith-based and community initiatives Joshua Dubois were among those who joined the President, first lady Michelle Obama and their daughters, Sasha and Malia, at the 11 a.m. service.

During his speech, Obama also encouraged those in the audience to learn from previous the generations' firm resolve, belief that government can be a force for good and commitment to universal ideals.

“Our predecessors were never so consumed with theoretical debate that they couldn't see progress when it came,” Obama said. “Sometimes I get a little frustrated when folks just don't want to see that even if we don't get everything, we're getting something.”

In his remarks at the Washington church, Obama reflected on the difficulties he has faced in pushing key elements of his legislative agenda through Congress and the periodic distractions that have arisen from remarks about his race.

Referring to the “post-racial” and “post-partisan” shift in the country that many observers predicted would flow from his inauguration a year ago, he said, “That didn't work out so well.”

But Obama urged listeners to have faith that things would slowly improve.

“Each season, the frost melts, the cold recedes, the sun reappears; so it was for earlier generations and so it will be for us,” he said.

Later the president headed to Boston in support of the Senate candidacy of state Attorney General Martha Coakley, who is in a tight race for the seat long held by Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, who died in August. Coakley's defeat would upend the Democrat's 60-vote majority in the Senate, making it impossible to overcome a filibuster that could kill hard-fought health care legislation.

King himself spoke in 1956 at Vermont Avenue Baptist Church, located less than 2 miles north of the White House. Freed slaves founded the church the year after the Civil War.

Then a 27-year-old preacher who was emerging as a prominent voice in the civil rights movement, King visited Washington shortly after the Supreme Court sided with a ruling that led to the end of racial segregation aboard city buses in Montgomery, Ala. King was one of the leaders of a bus boycott that lasted more than a year.

Monday's King holiday will be the first that Obama, the first black president, will commemorate as the nation's leader.

What is the Controversy?

MANY CHURCH LEADERS and politicians are unified on the hotly debated issue of legislating Sunday as a day of rest. Today, great efforts are being made to gain influence in the executive and legislative circles of the United States federal government in order to enact laws for the observance of Sunday as a national day of rest. The thrust is not overtly religious but is couched in a concern for the welfare of the American family. This activity is being duplicated in other parts of the world as well under the same pretense.

It is ironic to see this kind of legislation being promoted when you consider what has been said by the leaders of the Christian churches at different times in history. Considering this, it is also ironic to see what was the practice of Christians throughout history.

In even stronger words, Pope John Paul II has asked for more strident measures be taken to insure a day of rest is observed, and to inflict punishment on those who would transgress. Of course, the day that he wants kept is Sunday, regardless of your persuasion.

"In Europe, the Sunday Law issue is expected to be contentious as Pope John Paul II continues to press for mandatory Sunday closing laws" (Church & State, May, 1992).

As recently as July, 1998, the Pope, in his Apostolic Letter, Dies Domini, was quoted as saying that a violator should be "punished as a heretic" (Detroit News, July 7, 1998).

Currently, the Vatican is asking the “civil authorities” to cooperate with the Church in legislation of Sunday as the nation’s day of rest.

“The civil authorities should be urged to cooperate with the church in maintaining and strengthening this public worship of God, and to support with their own authority the regulations set down by the church’s pastors. For it is only in this way that the faithful will understand why it is Sunday and not the Sabbath day that we now keep holy” (Roman Catechism, 1985, emphasis supplied).

Someone Admits to Changing God's Law

In a recent Catholic church newsletter, it stated, “Perhaps the most revolutionary change the Church ever did, happened in the first century [actually in happened in the fourth century]. The holy day, the Sabbath, was changed from Saturday to Sunday. ‘The Day of the Lord’ [Dies Domini] was chosen, not from any direction noted in the Scriptures, but from the Church’s sense of its own power.…People who think that the Scriptures should be the sole authority, should logically become [Seventh-day] Adventists, and keep Saturday holy.” Saint Catherine Catholic Church Sentinel, Algonac, Michigan, May 21, 1995.

No Scriptural Support

Sunday is a Catholic institution and its claim to observance can be defended only on Catholic principles.…From beginning to end of Scripture there is not a single passage that warrants the transfer of weekly public worship from the last day of the week to the first.”—Catholic Press, Sydney, Australia, 1900.

Mark of Authority

“Sunday is our mark of authority.…The church is above the Bible, and this transference of sabbath observance is proof of that fact.” The Catholic Record, London, Ontario, September 1, 1923.

A Catechism

“Question: Which day is the Sabbath?”

“Answer: Saturday is the Sabbath.”

Question: Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?”

“Answer: We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church in the Council of Laodicea (A.D. 336) transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday.” The Convert’s Catechism of Catholic Doctrine, by Peter Geiermann, 50.

What Do You Think?

Do you need to be forced to keep Sunday in a way contrary to what you believe? Should you be punished for your conscientious regard or disregard for that day? Is this something the Federal government should legislate?

All of this was foreseen many years ago by the men who wrote the Bible. For an exposé of the powers behind the scenes, click HERE!

Georgetown University Hospital - Adventist Health Care Behavioral Health Services form partnership...

Department of Psychiatry, Georgetown University Hospital - Adventist Health Care Behavioral Health Services form partnership to Establish a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship

We are extremely pleased to announce that the Georgetown University Hospital Department of Psychiatry has reached agreement with Adventist Health Care Behavioral Health Services to establish a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship. This partnership will provide outstanding training opportunities and allow us to address the growing need for high quality Child and Adolescent psychiatrists in our community.

The Adventist system has a wide range of mental health services for children and adolescents. This partnership will allow us to offer the full range of training opportunities necessary for a fellowship and will provide funding for residents. GUH will provide the academic base for the program as well as additional clinical training (e.g. outpatient, C-L) and supervision. The first step in the process will be the recruitment of the Fellowship Director who will be based at Adventist and have a faculty appointment at Georgetown. Although there are a number of steps that need to be completed, we are hoping that our first fellowship class will be able to start in 2010.

Guess Hu's Coming To Dinner?

Hu's on first? Hu Jintao is in the House! The White House, no less!

Well, Hu got a State Dinner with all the pomp and ceremony. It was sort of reminiscent of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's dinner in November 2009. But, wait, Nicholas Sarkozy of France, was here recently and didn't get all this attention? Why? Well, because Hu's special; (We're beginning to look a lot like China). As I heard it mentioned on a radio program: Hu's President Obama's counterpart. Maybe, Obama can get a few pointers on how to control the ignorant cannon fodder? China probably wrote the book on requiring the proletariat to "tone down the rhetoric".
.
Here's the implied message: Protests encouraged in developing nations - Muslim countries, African States; But, civility in the People's Democratic Republic of China, and the (USSR) aka United States of America.
.
Business as usual is all that matters. Money talks, everyone else shut up!

Back to the epicurean attractions (distractions): What did they have for Dinner?

On the menu: d'anjou pear salad with farmstead goat cheese, poached Maine lobster, orange glazed carrots and black trumpet mushrooms, dry aged rib eye with buttermilk crisp onions, double-stuffed potatoes and creamed spinach. Dessert was to be old-fashioned apple pie with vanilla ice cream.

.

Oh, no carrot sticks? No greens or fruits?
What a double-standard? Or, is it a double-entendre?
.

Sheila Jackson Lee: Repealing ObamaCare is unconstitutional

posted at 8:25 pm on January 18, 2011 by Allahpundit

Via Philip Klein, I can’t decide whether she’s serious or whether this is part of the Democrats’ new kitchen-sink approach to “messaging” about ObamaCare. She might be calculating that even an argument as inane as this one is worth making in order to counter the GOP’s claims that O-Care is unconstitutional. If you’re battling over public opinion, why not frame the other side’s actions as being as illegitimate as your own? So on the one hand, maybe she doesn’t really buy this and is simply engaged in a shrewd bit of PR. On the other hand — dude.

“The Fifth Amendment speaks specifically to denying someone their life and liberty without due process,” she said in a speech on the House floor moments ago. “That is what H.R. 2 does and I rise in opposition to it. And I rise in opposition because it is important that we preserve lives and we recognize that 40 million-plus are uninsured.

She continued, “Can you tell me what’s more unconstitutional than taking away from the people of America their Fifth Amendment rights, their Fourteenth Amendment rights, and the right to equal protection under the law?”

Jackson Lee mentioned the names of several people who she said would be helped by the national health care law, including a schizophrenic, a dialysis patient, and somebody whose mother cannot otherwise get dental care. “I know they would question why we are taking away their rights,” she said.

Thus do nine-month-old legislatively-granted entitlements, some of which haven’t even taken effect yet, become “rights.” If you take this idea seriously, then meaningful reform of Social Security and Medicare (which Lee presumably would describe as property for Due Process purposes) would require constitutional amendments, which in turn would utterly paralyze a process that’s already close to total paralysis. Or have I misunderstood? If she’s suggesting that some lesser process is due than a full Article V amendment, then, er, shouldn’t a repeal bill duly enacted by Congress suffice? Or is the argument here that people with preexisting conditions, say, have always had a right to coverage under the Constitution and only lately have we “progressed” to the point where we’re willing to recognize that right? In that case, why’d they have to pass a bill last year? Patients should have simply sued and let the courts “find” a right to coverage in the “penumbras” of the Commerce Clause or whatever.

Lee’s floor speech comes at 1:34:35 of the clip; click the image to watch. Exit question: Is this really the silliest meme in the left’s ObamaCare arsenal? Even liberals as normally sane as KP are still relying on the idea that O-Care is somehow going to reduce the deficit, even though the CBO numbers being used to justify that claim have been famously gamed by Democrats since the beginning. Between lame but earnest legal arguments and deliberately misleading stats, I’ll take the former.

New Alabama Gov. Criticized for Christian-Only Message

Non-Christians Accuse Robert Bentley of Treating Them as Second-Class

By RUSSELL GOLDMAN
Jan. 19, 2011

Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley offended some of his new constituents this week when he told a church crowd that he would only accept as his brothers and sisters those who had accepted Jesus Christ as their savior.

"Anybody here today who has not accepted Jesus Christ as their savior, I'm telling you, you're not my brother and you're not my sister, and I want to be your brother," Bentley said Monday at a church service held moments after his inauguration, according to The Birmingham News.

Some non-Christians said they were offended by the comments and questioned whether the new governor would offer equal treatment to people of other faiths and non-believers.

"We live in a country that is hugely diverse," said David Silverman, president of American Atheists, the country's oldest atheist civil rights group. "The governor basically said: 'If you're not like me, you're second class.' This is a man puts the Bible above the Constitution and his preacher above the president. His words are disgusting and bigoted and reinforce Alabama's reputation for being backward and bigoted."

Alabama Governor Apologizes for Controversial Religious Remarks

Published January 19, 2011
FoxNews.com

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – It took more than two days for Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley to apologize for controversial remarks he made during a Martin Luther King day speech in which he condemned the beliefs of non-Christians.

Bentley, a Republican, told a crowd at Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church on Monday that if they haven’t accepted Jesus Christ as their savior, they are not his brother or his sister.

On Wednesday afternoon, Bentley issued a public apology: "If anyone from other religions felt disenfranchised by the language, I want to say I am sorry. I am sorry if I offended anyone in any way."

Bill Nigut, the Southeast regional director of the Anti-Defamation League, believes Bentley should have been aware of the possible repercussions of his initial statement.

“The governor does not have to be a seasoned politician to understand the impact of remarks like that,” he said. “These are remarks of a man who truly believes what he said, apparently. This seems to be quite clear that Christians are part of an exclusive relationship he has with his brothers and sisters and the rest of us are not.”

Bentley was sworn in shortly before he spoke at the church where the late civil rights leader Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. was once a pastor. According to The Birmingham News, during his speech he said it was important for Alabamians to ''love and care for each other." He also told the crowd he is color blind. But just minutes later, he went on to say if they don’t have the same ‘daddy’ then they are not brothers and sisters.

"There may be some people here today who do not have living within them the Holy Spirit," Bentley said during his speech. ''But if you have been adopted in God's family like I have, and like you have if you're a Christian and if you're saved, and the Holy Spirit lives within you just like the Holy Spirit lives within me, then you know what that makes? It makes you and me brothers. And it makes you and me brother and sister."

“In the city and the state, there are segments of the population who were offended and others said it was good what he said,” said Joey Kennedy, an opinion writer for The Birmingham News who has closely watched the reaction to Bentley's remarks. “He is not a civilian anymore; he is not a private person anymore. He is the governor of Alabama every day, 24-hours a day.”

Kennedy went on to say that the fact Bentley chose to deliver his remarks in a church doesn’t make it appropriate. “The forum doesn’t matter. Look at the forum, it was a commemoration of Martin Luther King Day to honor the legacy of Dr. King, which was anything but exclusionary,” he said.

Gov. Bentley’s director of communications, Rebekah Mason, sent Fox News a statement on behalf of the governor.

“The governor had intended no offense by his remarks. He is the governor of all the people, Christians, non-Christians alike.”

At this time, he is not scheduled for an on-camera appearance to address Monday’s speech.

For Nigut and the ADL, the statement isn’t enough. He is looking for something more.

“An apology is only meaningful if it is consistent with a sincere understanding of what a person has done wrong. If Gov. Bentley were to say: ‘I realize I was wrong that we are all brothers and sister, and not single out only the ones who believe in Jesus Christ,’” Nigut said.

So is the governor simply exercising the First Amendment or is the statement up for interpretation?

Gene Policinski, the executive director of The First Amendment Center, says Bentley needs to keep in mind, like all public officials, that his office represents all faiths.

“When a politician might reveal his beliefs, it is creating an impression,” Policinski said. “Religion is a part of many peoples’ lives, but there is an implication when a particular faith receives favorable or disfavorable treatment. It is a very difficult line to draw, but it is one any politician has to be aware of.”

Kennedy agrees with the statement that Bentley has First Amendment rights, but he is speaking as the governor, the one person who has the bully pulpit of the state.

“I challenge it was truly a religious forum, it was an audience of a lot of different people,” he said.

Fox News' Elizabeth Prann and The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth

10Hear the word of the LORD, ye rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah.

11To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.

12When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts?

13Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting.

14Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them.

15And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.

16Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;

17Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

18Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

19If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:

20But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

21How is the faithful city become an harlot! it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers.

22Thy silver is become dross, thy wine mixed with water:

23Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them.

24Therefore saith the LORD, the LORD of hosts, the mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will ease me of mine adversaries, and avenge me of mine enemies:

25And I will turn my hand upon thee, and purely purge away thy dross, and take away all thy tin:

26And I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city.

27Zion shall be redeemed with judgment, and her converts with righteousness.

28And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the LORD shall be consumed.

29For they shall be ashamed of the oaks which ye have desired, and ye shall be confounded for the gardens that ye have chosen.

30For ye shall be as an oak whose leaf fadeth, and as a garden that hath no water.

31And the strong shall be as tow, and the maker of it as a spark, and they shall both burn together, and none shall quench them.

Isaiah 1:15-31.

Arizona's first Jewish Congresswoman

Recently, I heard someone state that Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords is Catholic; I attempted to inform that individual that she is actually Jewish, without success.
So, to dispel any misunderstanding about her religion, I'll post an excerpt of her wikipedia bio:

...

Personal life

Giffords was born in Tucson, Arizona, to Gloria Kay (née Fraser) and Spencer J. Giffords. Her father is a first cousin of director Bruce Paltrow, whose daughter is actress Gwyneth Paltrow.[10] Giffords was raised in a mixed religious environment by her Jewish father and Christian Science-practicing mother. She has identified herself solely with Judaism since 2001, belonging to Congregation Chaverim, a Reform synagogue, in Tucson.[1][11] She is Arizona's first Jewish Congresswoman.[12][13]

Giffords graduated from Tucson's University High School. She received a B.A. in Sociology and Latin American history from Scripps College in California in 1993,[14] and a Master of Regional Planning from Cornell University, in 1996.[14] She focused her studies on Mexico – United States relations while at Cornell. She was a Fulbright Scholar in Chihuahua, Mexico, in 1996 and a fellow at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard.[citation needed]

Giffords married U.S. Navy Captain and astronaut Mark E. Kelly on November 10, 2007. He was the Space Shuttle's pilot on STS-108 and STS-121, and commander of STS-124.[15]

Giffords is a former member of the Arizona regional board of the Anti-Defamation League.[16] After Hurricane Katrina struck in the late summer of 2005, Giffords spent time as a volunteer in Houston, Texas, in relief efforts for Hurricane victims. She wrote about her experience in the Tucson Citizen.[17]

Giffords is an avid reader and was featured on NPR's Weekend Edition on July 9, 2006. She was periodically interviewed together with Illinois Republican Peter Roskam on NPR's All Things Considered. The series focused on their experiences as freshman members of the 110th Congress.

"One Nation Under God" (Flyer)

From the very beginning of the great controversy in heaven it has been Satan's purpose to overthrow the law of God. It was to accomplish this that He entered upon his rebellion against the Creator, and though he was cast out of heaven he has continued the same warfare upon the earth. Te deceive men, and thus lead them to transgress God's law, is the object which he has steadfastly pursued. Whether this be accomplished by casting aside the law altogether, or by rejecting one of its precepts, the result will be ultimately the same. ...

In rejecting the truth, men reject its Author. In trampling upon the law of God, they deny the authority of the Lawgiver. ... No error accepted by the Christian world strikes more boldly against the authority of Heaven, none is more directly opposed to the dictates of reason, none is more pernicious in its results, than the modem doctrine so rapidly gaining ground that God's law is no longer binding upon men.

Every nation has its laws, which command respect and obedience; no government could exist without them; and can it be conceived that the Creator of the heavens and the earth has no law to govern the beings He has made? ... But is it a graver offense to disregard the laws of states and nations than to trample upon those divine precepts which are the foundation of all government?

It would be far more consistent for nations to abolish their statutes, and permit the people to do as they please, than for the Ruler of the universe to annul His law, and leave the world without a standard to condemn the guilty or justify the obedient. ...

Those who teach the people to regard lightly the commandments of God sow disobedience to reap disobedience. Let the restraint imposed by the divine law be wholly cast aside, and human laws would soon be disregarded. ... If the law were not binding, why should any fear to transgress? Property would no longer be safe. Men would obtain their neighbor's possessions by violence, and the strongest would become richest. Life itself would not be respected. The marriage vow would no longer stand as a sacred bulwark to protect the family. He who had the power, would, if he desired, take his neighbor's wife by violence. The fifth commandment would be set aside with the fourth. Children would not shrink from taking the life of their parents if by so doing they could obtain the desire of their corrupt hearts. The civilized world would become a horde of robbers and assassins; and peace, rest, and happiness would be banished from the earth.

Already the doctrine that men are released from obedience to God's requirements has weakened the force of moral obligation and opened the floodgates of iniquity upon the world. ... The vilest of criminals, when thrown into prison for their offenses, are often made the recipients of gifts and attentions as if they had attained an enviable distinction. Great publicity is given to their character and crimes. The press publishes the revolting details of vice, thus initiating others into the practice of fraud, robbery, and murder; and Satan exults in the success of his hellish schemes. The infatuation of vice, the wanton taking of life, the terrible increase of intemperance and iniquity of every order and degree, should arouse all who fear God, to inquire what can be done to stay the tide of evil.

Courts of justice are corrupt. Rulers are actuated by desire for gain and love of sensual pleasure. Intemperance has beclouded the faculties of many so that Satan has almost complete control of them. Jurists are perverted, bribed, deluded. Drunkenness and revelry, passion, envy, dishonesty of every sort, are represented among those who administer the laws. "Justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter." Isaiah 59:14. ...

Satan works through the elements also to garner his harvest of unprepared souls. He has studied the secrets of the laboratories of nature, and he uses all his power to control the elements as far as God allows. When he was suffered to afflict Job, how quickly flocks and herds, servants, houses, children, were swept away, one trouble succeeding another as in a moment. It is God that shields His chreatures and hedges them in from the power of the destroyer. ...

Even now [Satan] is at work. In accidents and calamities by sea and by land, in great conflagrations, in fierce tornadoes and terrific hailstorms, in tempests, floods, cyclones, tidal waves, and earthquakes, in every place and in a thousand forms, Satan is exercising his power. He sweeps away the ripening harvest, and famine and distress follow. He imparts to the air a deadly taint, and thousands perish by the pestilence. These visitation are to become more and more frequent and disastrous. Destruction will be upon both man and beast. "The earth mourneth and fadeth away" ...

God never forces the will or the conscience; but Satan's constant restort — to gain control of those whome he cannot otherwise secuce — is compulsion by cruelty. Through fear of force he endeavors to rule the conscience and to secure homage to himself. To accomplish this, he works through both religious and secular authorities, moving them to the enforcement of human laws in defiance of the law of God. ... The lack of divine authority will be supplied by oppressive enactments. Political corruption is destroying love of justice and regard for truth; and even in free America, rulers and legislators, in order to secure public favor, will yield to the popular demand for a law ...

The LORD is my defense; and my God is the rock of my refuge

Psalm 94

1O Lord God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself.

2Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud.

3LORD, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph?

4How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?

5They break in pieces thy people, O LORD, and afflict thine heritage.

6They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.

7Yet they say, The LORD shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it.

8Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be wise?

9He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?

10He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, shall not he know?

11The LORD knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.

12Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O LORD, and teachest him out of thy law;

13That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked.

14For the LORD will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.

15But judgment shall return unto righteousness: and all the upright in heart shall follow it.

16Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?

17Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.

18When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O LORD, held me up.

19In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.

20Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law?

21They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.

22But the LORD is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.

23And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the LORD our God shall cut them off.

The Elijah Prophecy

Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse. Mal. 4:5, 6.
.
Those who are to prepare the way for the second coming of Christ are represented by faithful Elijah, as John came in the spirit of Elijah to prepare the way for Christ's first advent. The work of John the Baptist, and the work of those who in the last days go forth in the spirit and power of Elijah to arouse the people from their apathy, are in many respects the same. His work is a type of the work that must be done in this age. Christ is to come the second time to judge the world in righteousness.

John separated himself from friends and from the luxuries of life. The simplicity of his dress, a garment woven of camel's hair, was a standing rebuke to the extravagance and display of the Jewish priests, and of the people generally. His diet, purely vegetable, of locusts and wild honey, was a rebuke to the indulgence of appetite and the gluttony that everywhere prevailed. ... The great subject of reform is to be agitated, and the public mind is to be stirred. Temperance in all things is to be connected with the message, to turn the people of God from their idolatry, their gluttony, and their extravagance in dress and other things.

The self-denial, humility, and temperance required of the righteous, whom God especially leads and blesses, is to be presented to the people in contrast to the extravagant, health-destroying habits of those who live in this degenerate age. God has shown that health reform is as closely connected with the third angel's message as the hand is with the body.

As John the Baptist . . . called their attention to the Ten Commandments, so we are to give, with no uncertain sound, the message: "Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come." With the earnestness that characterized Elijah the prophet and John the Baptist, we are to strive to prepare the way for Christ's second advent.

Logo controversy

P&G’s former logo originated in 1851 as a crude cross that barge workers on the Ohio River painted on cases of P&G star candles to identify them. P&G later altered this symbol into a trademark that showed a man in the moon overlooking 13 stars, said to commemorate the original 13 colonies.[19]

Former P&G logo

The company received unwanted media publicity in the 1980s when rumors spread that the moon-and-stars logo was a satanic symbol. The accusation was based on a particular passage in the Bible, specifically Revelation 12:1, which states: “And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of 12 stars.” P&G’s logo consisted of a man’s face on the moon surrounded by 13 stars, and some claimed that the logo was a mockery of the heavenly symbol alluded to in the aforementioned verse, thus construing the logo to be satanic. Where the flowing beard meets the surrounding circle, three curls were said to be a mirror image of the number 666, or the reflected number of the beast. At the top and bottom, the hair curls in on itself, and was said to be the two horns like those of a lamb that represented the false prophet.

These interpretations have been denied by company officials, and no evidence linking the company to the Church of Satan or any other occult organization has ever been presented. The company unsuccessfully sued Amway from 1995-2003 over rumors forwarded through a company voicemail system in 1995. In 2007 the company successfully sued individual Amway distributors for reviving and propagating the false rumors.[20]

Illinois Passes 66% Tax Hike

Garrett Spangler
Jan 13th 2011 at 8:30AM

Filed under: Tax, In the News

Lawmakers in Illinois moved quickly yesterday, Jan. 12, to pass a new bill that increases the state's personal income tax rate by a whopping 66%. This appears to be the largest tax increase any state has approved in the wake of recent economic woes.

Newly-inaugurated Illinois Governor Pat Quinn has publicly defended the move to raise taxes, citing the state's dismal financial picture and budgetary shortfalls, which are expected to expand as stimulus spending comes to an end this year. The new legislation will increase the current 3% rate to 5% for the next four years and includes an increase in income taxes assessed on corporations.

With a budget deficit hovering at nearly $15 billion, there's no question that Illinois has its back against the wall and needs to make meaningful changes to its fiscal policy. While tax increases are seldom popular politically, it seemed a foregone conclusion that Illinois would utilize tax changes along with budget cuts to start making a dent in the current deficit and rein in future spending. It came down to yesterday morning, when the lame-duck legislature finalized the deal before new lawmakers were scheduled to be sworn in mid-day.

Past lawmakers in Illinois have routinely used debt to finance budget shortfalls and new spending, but the time to make tough choices appears to have been put off as long as possible. Thompson Reuters now rates Illinois state bonds as the riskiest in the country in terms of perceived risk of default.

Recently interviewed by 60 Minutes about the severe economic issues facing Illinois, state Comptroller Dan Hynes said, "The state of Illinois is known as a deadbeat state." Hynes added that Illinois earned its reputation over many years and seemed genuinely upset by the fact that he frequently can do little more than apologize when the state's creditors come calling.

While the increase is huge in terms of percentages, the new tax rate of 5% is still lower than most other states. States such as California and Hawaii have top tax rates that exceed 10%, and only about a dozen states continue to enjoy rates under 5%. Under the terms of the bill, the 5% rate is set to expire after four years and return to a rate of 3.75%.

Unfortunately for Illinois lawmakers both in support and opposed to the new legislation, the tax rate hike is only the first of many difficult decisions that must be made on the journey back to sound fiscal responsibility. Illinois politicians will have to devote considerable time to reviewing the budget for redundancies and waste as well as to determining where cuts can be made to state sponsored programs. Some options originally proposed but cut from the final tax bill included an additional $1 tax on packs of cigarettes and a plan to borrow an additional $8 billion to help pay at least some of the overdue bills to businesses and agencies engaged with the state.

GC Imposes Spiritual Formation Globally

GC Imposes Spiritual Formation Globally

The month of 9-11-01, as the entire world was focused on the World Trade Center and Pentagon attacks, the Adventist Structure implemented Spiritual Formation for all of its ministry around the world in all 13 world regions.

A Stunning Picture of Spiritual Direction From a Structure Theology Professor

‘Trust ye not in a friend [companion, fellow, associate, neighbor], put ye not confidence in aguide [familiar, confidant], keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom.
“For the son dishonoreth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, and thedaughter in law against her mother in law; a man’s enemies are the men of his own house.
“Therefore I will look unto the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hearme.”
Micah 7: 5-7.
Jesus quoted Micah 7:6 in Matthew 10: 35, 36 embedding it in the gospel.

Derek J. Morris, Professor, Advocates Jesuit Spiritual Formation

A few years ago, Derek J. Morris, then Professor of Homiletics and Pastoral Theology at Southern College of Seventh-day Adventists, (more recently a pastor in California) gave a talk and produced a paper calling for Spiritual Formation in Adventism. Its title is “Spiritual Formation in Ministry.

”In this talk and paper, calling for Spiritual Formation in ministry, you have a stunning revelation of the inner working of Spiritual Directors.

“I would like to explore with you this morning the process of spiritual direction and its relevance as a dynamic for spiritual formation in ministry.” –Derek Morris, Spiritual Formation in Ministry. (emphasis mine)

Morris Credits Jesuits With Preserving Spiritual Direction

Derek writes, “For much of the Christian era the practice of spiritual direction was confined to Catholicism, particularly monasticism and the Society of Jesus [the Jesuits]. In recent years, there has been a revival of interest in spiritual direction as a resource for spiritual formation among both Catholics and Protestants. A leading Protestant advocate of spiritual formation is Tilden Edwards, director of the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation in Washington, D.C. [CC note: Adventist Chaplaincy Ministries is promoting the Shalem Institute as the leading place for studying to become a Spiritual Director. Shalem is staffed with Roman Catholic nuns who are experts in the Spiritual Exercises of Ignatius Loyola, founder of the Jesuits, with Episcopal priests, psychiatrists, etc.] As I began my own prayer search for a spiritual friend, I came across the significant work by Tilden Edwards, Spiritual Friend: Reclaiming the Gift of Spiritual Direction. I [Derek Morris] strongly recommendthis book as a valuable resource….

“In the final chapter of this book, Edwards refers to a spiritual direction training program at theShalem Institute for Spiritual Formation in Washington, D. C.” –Morris, p. 7.

Morris Explains About RC Spiritual Direction Programs

At this point Morris refers the reader to his footnote where he explains more: “The ShalemInstitute for Spiritual Formation began its experiment with long-term group spiritual direction in the fall of 1973. Its spiritual direction -training program commenced in the fall of 1978. Another such program began at the same time at Wainwright House in Rye, New York under the Guild for Spiritual Direction. The two most intensive Roman Catholic training programs offering graduate degrees in spiritual direction are run by the Jesuits of Weston, MA, and by the Dusquesne Institute of Formative Spirituality in Pittsburgh,PA. The only non-Roman Catholic graduate program in spiritual direction is offered by the Center for Christian Spirituality at the General Theological Seminary (Episcopal) in New York.”–Derek Morris, footnote, page 7

Obviously, Morris is quite comfortable with Jesuitism, Jesuit Spiritual Formation and Spiritualdirectorship, and is an enthusiastic advocate of implementing this Jesuit training within Adventism.

Morris anxious, Afraid; Finds Comfort In Assuring Himself That God is Leading Him Into Spiritual Direction

Morris continues, “I called Shalem and shared with Dr. Gerald May that I was a pastor, interested in the process of spiritual direction.” –Morris Spiritual Formation in Ministry, 8. Dr.May sent him a list of names of graduates and enrollees in Shalem’s program.

Morris relates how he was “embarrassed, anxious, afraid. This whole experience was a journey into the unknown. However, I found comfort in the counsel of Elizabeth O’Conner, reiterated by Dr. May. I prayed, ‘O Lord, I know that you are leading in thisprocess. Please give me thecourage to follow you.” –Morris, p. 8.

Morris Plunges Ahead, Overriding the Spirit’s Powerful Warnings

Notice how the Spirit was warning Morris about the course he was taking, but he plunged ahead, insisting that the Lord was leading Him. What lord was this, leading him into Jesuit Spiritual Formation and Jesuit Spiritual Direction?

High Level of Resistance From Conscience

Morris tells how he was “experiencing a high level of resistance. I was to learn later that suchresistance is common…” (p.8). The resistance is the voice of conscience warning you not to do this. Therefore, Morris just overrode the resistance. He tells of how he had “twenty days of resistance” but then he ‘called Louise Young. I shared with her my spiritual journey and my desire to explore the process of spiritual direction.” (p. 8).

Jesuit Experts Explain How to Overcome “Resistance”

Morris tells of how Barry and Connolly, two Jesuits, in their book, The Practice of Spiritual Direction, spend an entire chapter dealing with the phenomenon of ‘resistance.” (Morris, p. 8).Therefore, Morris would have us go to the Jesuits to find out how to overcome the Holy Spirit’svoice of warning us about Jesuit Spiritual Direction

Jesuits: “The Practice of Spiritual direction;” “Finding God in All things: A Companion to the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius

William A. Berry, S.J., one of the Jesuit authors of the Practice of Spiritual Direction, has also written a Companion to the Spiritual Exercises of Ignatius Loyola, called Finding God in All Things: A Companion to the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius (Notre Dame, IN: Ave Maria,1991)

Foster Recommends Jesuit Barry

From the titles of the books by those Jesuits, it is clear that they are in the vanguard of the Jesuit order in producing materials for the implementation of Spiritual Formation and Spiritual Directorship. Foster comments on the Companion to the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius: “This book of reflections on spiritual teachings of Ignatius Loyola is an excellent treatment by a noted Jesuit spiritual director and retreat leader.” Foster and Griffin, p. 299. (emphasis mine)

Finally, after much “resistance” and fear, Barry Young became Morris’ Spiritual Director. Morris describes the ‘tremendous freedom” once he took the plunge to reveal his hidden self.

Spiritual Director, Father Confessor

Basically, the Spiritual Director functions as a kind of Father confessor. Morris quotes Elizabeth O’Conner describing the process: “It is an open relationship where your fear, feelings of rebellion, critical attitudes, misgivings, etc., are confessed… Your Spiritual director is one to whom you want to reveal your hidden self.” (Elizabeth O’Conner, Call to Commitment(New York: Harper and Row, 1963), p. 201. (emphasis mine)

Whereas traditionally in Roman Catholicism, in the confessional the priest is supposedly not supposed to see the person confessing, in the new confessional of Jesuit Spiritual Formation and Jesuit Spiritual direction, there is a face-to-face contact on a regular basis at regular times(p.11) a la Jesuit Spiritual Directorship.

Morris Receives Article by Jesuit On Spiritual Direction, Written For Roman Catholic Orders

In this first session with Barry, his Spiritual Director, Morris says, “I shared very openly about my personal history and my family relationships… Barry also shared with me an article by William J. Connolly, entitles ‘Noticing Key Interior Facts in the early Stages of Spiritual Direction.’ [William J. Connolly, ‘Noticing Key Facts in the Early Stages of Spiritual Direction,’Review for Religious 35 (1976): 112-121.]

William J. Connolly is a Jesuit. This article was published in Review for Religious. “Religious” isa Roman Catholic Term for its adherents who belong to a Roman Catholic Order orcongregation, or who are a monk, friar, or nun.

In other words, the education material generated by the Jesuit Connolly for other JesuitsFranciscans, Benedictines, Dominicans, monks, friars, and nuns regarding the practice of“spiritual direction” is now eagerly devoured by Morris and, by his example and advocacy, recommended to his hearers.

70% of Morris’ Spiritual Director’s Directees are Involved in Ministry

In another note Morris states, “Barry Young generally meets with directees on a monthly basis. It is interesting to note that approximately 70% of his directees are involved in someform of ministry.” Thus, Spiritual Directors are first targeting the ministries of the Protestant Churches, training them in Jesuit practice, forming them in the image of the Roman hierarchy. Even the Mennonites are deeply into spiritual formation. Their syllabus has the Jesuits William A. Berry & William J. Connolly’s The Practice of Spiritual Direction in their NC School for Christian Spiritual Formation as one of its readings.

Spiritual Directors International

“Ignatius was, in modern parlance, a good listener.” –Joseph A. Munitiz, S.J. and Philip Endean, S.J. preface and introductory notes to Saint Ignatius of Loyola, Personal Writings (London: Penguin, 1996), cited in McDonough and Bianchi, 111.

Spiritual Directors International – A Global Network of Confesso

Spiritual Directors international is spanning the globe with an organized network of confession-hearing Spiritual Directors. “Spiritual directors International began in 1989, in a gathering of spiritual directors of the Christian faith at Mercy Center in Burlingame, California, USA.” –Spiritual Directors International website, “Purpose and History of Spiritual Directors International.”

Mercy Center, run by nuns, not only hosted the founding of Spiritual directors International, but hosts conferences such as a conference March 4-7, 2005, attended by the Dharma Realm Buddhist Association, the San Francisco Zen Center, and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), led by Friar Thomas Hand, and celebrated its 20th anniversary at the Sisters of Mercy of Burlingame. (Project MUSE website.)

Secretary of Spiritual Directors International is a Jesuit

A Jesuit, James Keegan, S.J., Mdiv ’06, serves as the secretary of the group out of Gloucester, MA. Cathleen Murtha, DW, is the President. Spiritual Directors international is all organized, from world regions down to state levels.

Dominican, Benedictine, Franciscan Nuns Coordinate the Spiritual Director

Just the first few pages of listings (out of many, many pages) for just the states of Illinois,Indiana, South Dakota, and Michigan reveals that the coordinators on the state level are Dominican and Franciscan, Benedictine and other orders of nuns, with OSF (Order of SaintFrancis), OP (Order of Preachers-Dominicans), I.H.M. (Immaculate Heart of Mary). And OSB(Order of St. Benedict-the Benedictines) appended to the coordinator’s name. Some of as PHJC, andMPS, SNJM, and DASD. Some of the designations of the Sisters are not even listed in the Catholic Encyclopedia, such as PHJC, andMPS, SNJM, and DASD.

Thus, nuns, Jesuits, and others are directing the global work of Spiritual Directors.

Rome’s Intelligence System

The confessional is the greatest information-gathering system in the world. This is why Rome’s intelligence is the best that there is on the face of the planet. This is why, during the Reagan administration, the United States exchanged an ambassador with the Vatican, and the Vatican sent a Papal nuncio to the United States. Now this papal intelligence is flooded with the inner sanctum from the heart of what once was Protestantism.

Spiritual Directors International is a global organization, organizing the global work according to world fields, of the global confessional network of Spiritual directors. Thus, the Jesuits now have a global network of confessionals in all denominations from the Mennonites to the Adventists, from the Presbyterians to the Buddhists. Spiritual Directors International was founded at the Sisters of Mercy in Burlingame, California. Sisters of Mercy was founded when Mary Baptist Russell and her group of eight women landed in San Francisco in 1854. Their organization, Sisters of Mercy of the Americas, is the organization that has fostered Spiritual Directors International, which has broken down the world into regions and state organizations to organize the global network of nuns coordinating Spiritual Directors confessionals.

Thus, Rome has access now to inside information in all churches and religions through the confessional of Spiritual Directors.

Waldenses: Christ’s Altar is My Confessional

The Waldenses rejoiced that Christ was their confessional: “Many were undeceived in regard tothe claims of Rome. They saw how vain is the mediation of men or angels in behalf of the sinner. As the true light dawned upon their minds, they exclaimed with rejoicing: “Christ is my priest; His blood is my sacrifice; His altar is my confessional.” They cast themselves wholly upon the merits of Jesus, repeating the words, “Without faith it is impossible to please Him.” Hebrews 11:6. “There is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Acts 4:12.” GC 74.

It is absolutely astounding to hear this Structure professor of theology describe his experience in finding a Father confessor type of Spiritual Director. I feel very sorry that he did not take hisheart to the Lord in secret prayer, and that instead he opened it to a human being in a new confessional-spiritual directorship, and is now advocating this terrible departure from Protestantism to others across the board in ministry.

“I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me. A forward heart shall departfrom me: I will not know a wicked person.” Psalms 101: 3,4.

The Phenomenon of a State of Imagined Euphoria in Transgression

Notice what happened to Eve when she crossed the border against the resistance of conscience and moved into the domain of rebellion against God. She imagined she was entering a plane of higher existence, and experienced a rush of a state of euphoria. Then she became an evangelist for sin and rebellion:
“When she “saw that the tree was good for food, and it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree tobe desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat.” It was grateful to the taste, and as she ate, she seemed to feel a vivifying power, and imagined herself entering upon a higher state of existence. Without a fear, she plucked and ate. And now, having transgressed, she became the agent of Satan in working the ruin of her husband. In a state of strange, unnatural excitement, with her hands filled with the forbidden fruit, she sought his presence, and related all that had occurred.” PP 55, 56.

Are we not to take all of our inner heart to the Lord alone in secret prayer that none but the Lord is to hear? Are we not to hold to the Word of the Lord in faith?

Submitting to Jesuit-trained Men

This is not just one personal departure, but Derek has become a leader in training the ministry to submit the soul to man, and Jesuit-trained men at that, rather than to God. He has become a change agent, seeking to convert the rest of the church structure to this hallmark of Roman Catholicism. Spiritual Directorship is the hallmark of Roman Catholicism as opposed to true Protestantism.

None But the Prayer-Hearing Go

“In secret devotion our prayers are to reach the ears of none but the prayer-hearing God.No curious ear is to receive the burden of such petitions.” MB 84.

The Secret Place

“When thou prayest, enter into thy closet.” Have a place for secret prayer. Jesus had select places of communion with God, and so should we. We need often to retire to some spot, however humble, where we can be alone with God.

No Man Needed to Act as Mediator

“Pray to thy Father which is in secret.” In the name of Jesus, we may come into God’s presence with the confidence of a child. No man is needed to act as a mediator. Through Jesus wemay open our hearts to God as to one who knows and loves us.”

Serious Prayer

It is now that we need to revive the practice of secret prayer to our heavenly Father. Greatmen of God have taken prayer seriously, and made prayer one of the most important functions of their lives. Luther prayed three hours a day at the height of the Reformation crisis. Wesley said that he did not think much of a man who did not spend five or six hours in prayer a day.Oliver Cromwell prayed for hours on end. George Washington prayed for long periods of time. Jesus prayed all night.

Serious Prayer

“In the secret place of prayer, where no eye but God’s can see, no ear but His can hear, we may pour out our most hidden desires and longings to the Father of infinite pity, and in the hush and silence of the soul that voice which never fails to answer the cry of human need will speak to our hearts.” MB 84.

What the Lord Says About Confessing the Secret Things of the heart to Man

“He who kneels before fallen men, and open in confession the secret thoughts and imaginations of his heart, is debasing his manhood and degrading every noble instinct of his soul. In unfolding the sins of life to a priest, --an erring, sinful mortal, and too often corrupted with wine and licentiousness, --his standard of character is lowered, and he is defiled in consequence. His thought of God is degraded to the likeness of fallen humanity, for the priest stands as a representative of God. This degrading confession of man to man is the secret spring from which has flowed much of the evil that is defiling the world and fitting it for the final destruction. Yet, to him who loves self-indulgence, it is more pleasing to confess to a fellow mortal than to open the soul to God. It is more palatable to human nature to do penance than to renounce sin; it is easier to mortify the flesh by sackcloth, nettles, and galling chains than to crucify fleshly lusts. Heavy is the yoke which the carnal heart is willing to bear rather than bow to the yoke of Christ.” GC 567, 568.

Morris Recommends That New Pastors Find a Spiritual Director To Guide Them

In concluding his paper, Derek Morris recommends that the young theology student, wholeaves the seminary for his first parish, should get a Spiritual Director as soon as he arrives athis parish: “In the years that followed I discovered experientially what Roy Oswald had concluded from his research of 102 Seminary graduates some years before: Crossing the boundary for Seminary to parish is never easy. Moreover, the need for personal spiritual formation is ongoing. However, the process of spiritual direction is a tremendous resource. Henotes that ‘Those who had the good fortune of finding a spiritual father/mother/friend as they begun in the parish found the going somewhat easier.’ [Oswald. P. 18.]” –Derek Morris,Spiritual Formation in Ministry, pp. 11, 12. And that is the point of Morris’ entire paper fromthe first to the last paragraph, that Seminary students need to find a Spiritual Director and tobe under the direction of a Spiritual Director when they begin their work as a pastor in the field.

The Structure International Board of Ministerial And Theological Education Imposes Spiritual Formation

The Adventist world church created the International Board of Ministerial and Theological Education (IBMTE) in September 2001, designed to provide overall guidance and standards tothe professional training of pastors, evangelists, theologians, teachers, chaplains andother denominational employees involved in ministerial and religious formation, orspiritual formation, in each of the church’s 13 regions around the world.” -ANN [Adventist News Network] Feature: Church, Congregations Increase Focus on ‘SpiritualFormation,’ Feb, 3, 2004, http://www.adventist.org/

Now, by order of the GC IMBTE Jesuit spiritual formation and spiritual directors compromise allof the Structure ministerial cadre. Students in the colleges are now taking Spiritual Formation classes, Spiritual Formation groups have been formed in the churches, and a completely new class of ministers called Spiritual Directors has been established.

The Rejection of Christ’s Testimony Regarding Rome Is Now Breathing Spirit Into the Image of the Beast.

The rejection of the vision of Christ Himself given in the book of Revelation, the book of Daniel, and the Great Controversy, with reference to the terrible danger of Rome and the Jesuits, has completely compromised the Structure to the place where the Jesuits, by pen and Spiritual Directors, are now educating the full spectrum of the Structure ministry, from pastors to evangelists, theologians, teachers, chaplains, and all other employees involved in spiritual formation, the students in training, and the people in the pew, with the most fundamental Jesuit training-spiritual formation.

Ignatian Spirituality

The Jesuits have a name for it -Ignatian Spirituality. Spiritual Directors now are imposing the very ‘spirituality,” Ignatius Spirituality, possessed by Ignatius de Loyola himself, upon all of Protestantism, including the Structure of Adventism, and even non-Christian religions such as Buddhism.

The prophecy of GC 564, 565, of Rome’s plan to wage “a fierce and determined conflict toregain control of the world, to re-establish persecution, and to undo all that Protestantismhas done,” is now most strikingly being fulfilled.

Forming All of Protestantism, Including the Structure, in the Image of the Jesuit Order

The result of this training will be to form the entire Structure of Adventism, as well as the structures of the other Protestant churches, from Methodism, the Southern Baptists, Episcopalians and Salvation Army, to even the Mennonites, in the image of the Jesuit order. There is no more effective way than this formation of the image of the Jesuit Order could take place than to institute the very training of Jesuit Order in all the Protestant Churches.

The Jesuits ran the Inquisition (GC 235). The Jesuits ran the Nazi SS, which was formed in the image of the Jesuit Order, through Heinrich Himmler, whom Hitler said was ‘our Ignatius deLoyola,” and Himmler’s uncle in the SS, who was a Jesuit.

A Chilling Observation

It is impossible to know how many pastors are following Derek Morris’ example and advice andis now under the personal direction of the Jesuit-trained Spiritual Directors, who are co-ordinated by Spiritual Directors International; run by Jesuits [a Jesuit is the secretary of Spiritual Directors International], and Dominican, Franciscan, Benedictine and other priests and nuns. The thought that the Order that ran the Inquisition and Nazi SS has now been givenan open door to form and run the Structure ministry is a chilling one indeed.

This major and critical development of implementing the most fundamental Jesuit training inall of Protestantism, and even Buddhism, is a fundamental component of the erection of the image of the beast, foretold in Revelation 13. This is the breathing into the image of the spirit of Jesuitism. The ultimate end result will be the imposition of the Mark of the Beast, and finally the universal death decree.

The Way of Truth

The way of truth is the way of Scripture itself, the way of true Protestantism. It is the way offaith in following the Master in true discipleship, being taught by the Master Himself, with no human mediator between the soul and Christ. The way of truth is the way of meeting the conditions of discipleship, coming to Christ, hating father, mother, brother, sister, wife, children, and even one’s own life, or we cannot be His disciple. Luke 14:26. The way of truth is the way of putting our trust in Christ alone, and not in any confidant or guide or friend. Micah 7: 5-7. For those who forsake all for Christ, He has promised a hundred fold more, with persecutions, and with the promise of eternal life with Him forever and ever. Please, my friends, be very vigilant and watch for these things that are overtaking Protestantism. The Holy Spirit will continue to guide you and family into all truth, and remember, Jesus Christ said, “I am the way the truth and the way, no man cometh unto the Father except by me. John 14:6.
