The battle is not against flesh and blood

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. -Ephesians 6:12

Gamaliel and the Barack Obama Connection

President elect Barack Obama has throughout his political career made repeated references to his time as a community organizer on the South Side of Chicago. It is important that we all understand the connection between Barack and Gamaliel. In l980 Mary Gonzales and I created the United Neighborhood Organization of Chicago.

In l982 we decided that we needed some expertise from someone who had done faith based community organizing. A person who had worked as such an organizer in Illinois and in Pennsylvania approached me about joining our organizing team. His name was Jerry Kellman. Jerry helped Mary and myself become better organizers. While he was working for us, he connected with a group called the Calumet Community Religious Conference (CCRC) operating on the South Side in the South Suburbs of Chicago, and in Indiana. CCRC had been formed in response to the massive shut down of major industry and the resulting job loss and all of the concomitant social tragedies.

Jerry and I reached an understanding that we would support his work in the South Suburbs so that he could become director of his own project. It was Jerry Kellman who put an ad in the New York Times about an organizing position in the Chicago area. Barack responded; Jerry interviewed him and offered him a position. Barack accepted. Almost at this very time, Jerry propositioned an old friend of his to return to Chicago from Texas and work with him in this new organizing venture. His friend was Mike Kruglik. Mike and Jerry were the first mentors of Barack in organizing.

CCRC, which spanned communities in Northwest Indiana, the South Suburbs and parts of the City of Chicago proved to be unwieldy. Jerry and I decided to split it into three parts. Barack would work to found a new independent project in the South side of Chicago, Mike Kruglik would be the director of the South Suburban Action Conference and Jerry Kellman would develop organizing in Northwest Indiana. At that point Jerry asked me to become Barack’s consultant.

And at this time we were just creating the Gamaliel Foundation. I met with Barack on a regular basis as he incorporated the Developing Communities Project, as he moved the organization into action and as he developed the leadership structure for the organization. He would write beautiful and brilliant weekly reports about his work and the people he was engaging.

When Barack decided to go to Harvard Law School, he approached John McKnight, a professor at Northwestern and a Gamaliel Board member for a letter of recommendation. When Barack was leaving he made sure that Gamaliel was the formal consultant to the organization that he had created and to the staff that he had hired.

Barack has acknowledged publicly that he had been the director of a Gamaliel affiliate. He has supported Gamaliel throughout the years by conducting training both at the National Leadership Training events and at the African American Leadership Commission. He has also attended our public meetings.

We are honored and blessed by the connection between Barack and Gamaliel.

...

Gregory Galluzzo, a former Jesuit priest, is the Executive Director of the Gamaliel Foundation. In 1980 Galluzzo co-founded, along with his wife Mary Gonzalez, a Chicago Latino activist organization called the United Neighborhood Organization (UNO). Today, Ms. Gonzalez is the Gamaliel Foundation’s Director of Western Territory. UNO, also modeled after Alinsky’s methods, is known for using aggressive organizing and confrontational tactics to push for change.

Updated 2:38 a.m. Eastern

(CBS/AP) ELMIRA, N.Y. - The Chemung County emergency management director says buildings are damaged and hospitals are on disaster status after a possible tornado hit the city of Elmira and violent storms across the Northeast left at least one man dead.

Officials confirmed to WCBS in New York that one 61-year-old man was killed after lightning struck a church in Brooklyn, causing scaffolding to collapse.

The man, whose name wasn't immediately released, died at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. The deadly bolt of lightning hit the 175-year-old Christ Church in the Cobble Hill area as high winds and rains beat down, causing significant damage.

Michael Smith, the emergency management director in Chemung County, where Elmira is located, said the storm that hit at 4 p.m. on Thursday brought down trees and power lines, tore roofs off some buildings and caused motor vehicle accidents.

Dustin Hewit, a spokesman for the Arnot Health System, which runs two hospitals in the region, told CBS News they were treating "fewer than five" patients with storm-related injuries, none of which appeared to be serious. A shelter was being opened for displaced residents.

Utilities reported more than 20,000 customers without power in the area.

The storms moved through New York, New Jersey and Connecticut on Thursday afternoon and evening, CBS Station WCBS reported. Power outages were reported throughout the tri-state area, and the storms halted trains in Long Island. Passengers had to leave a Long Island Rail Road train on the Oyster Bay line because a tree crashed down on the tracks, preventing service.

JCP&L spokesman Ron Morano said about 14,000 utility customers were without power by about 8:30 p.m. He said the outages were spread across northern and southern New Jersey.

The National Weather Service said winds were expected to reach up to 60 mph with quarter-sized hail.

There were also power outages as the storms moved across Connecticut, but no widespread major damage was reported.

Connecticut Light and Power reported about 13,000 outages in southwestern Connecticut at 9 p.m. Thursday, mostly in Bethel, Norwalk, Redding, Ridgefield and Seymour. United Illuminating reported about 6,500 customers without power in southern Connecticut, most in Shelton and Stratford. A tornado watch for Litchfield County was allowed to expire, with no tornadoes reported. A severe thunderstorm watch for the rest of the state was cancelled mid-evening, as the storms weakened and moved offshore.

A flash flood watch remained in effect overnight for eastern Connecticut.

Gov. Dannel P. Malloy had partially activated Connecticut's Emergency Operations Center on Thursday afternoon as a precaution.

In Pennsylvania, sweltering heat gave way to the severe thunderstorms and high winds across much of the state, leaving more than 100,000 residents without electricity.

Cannibalism, 'mommy porn' and sexting, oh my!

By Joel C. Rosenberg Published June 22, 2012 FoxNews.com

Forget the stagnant American economy, our severe debt crisis and the rapidly mounting financial troubles in Greece and Spain, at least for a moment. Consider what’s driving American headlines these days"

Pornography – The #1, #2 and #3 books on the New York Times fiction best-seller list, and on the USA Today best-seller list, and on Amazon for the last few weeks have been the "Fifty Shades of Grey," erotic novels by E.L. James that are being widely described as “Mommy Porn.” The sexually explicit trilogy has become an overnight, viral phenomenon among American girls in their young teens all the way up through grandmothers in their seventies and eighties and is making headlines across the nation.

Cannibalism — Have stories about human beings eating other human beings ever been a major story in the United States, much less a series of headlines that lasted day after day? The Drudge Report and media outlets across the U.S. have been dominated in recent weeks by stories of six different instances of cannibalistic acts, some here in America and some around the world. Such stories are almost too horrifying to read, yet where is the outrage? People are almost treating these stories as bizarre but even a bit humorous, it as if it were no big deal, just another news story.

"Sexting” – A teacher in Texas was arrested for “sexting” with a student only days after he was named Teacher of the Year. “Sexting,” sending nude photos or videos of oneself via cell phone, is on the rise in high schools across the country as students seek approval in the wrong places from their classmates and teachers. A recent survey shows that even among adults the practice is on the rise, with 1 out of 5 smartphone users admitting to “sexting.”

What in the world is going on? With a stagnant U.S. economy, more than $15 trillion in national debt, and some $65 trillion in unfunded federal liabilities fast coming due, America faces the very real possibility of an economic collapse in the not-too-distant future. But is it possible we’re already imploding culturally? Is there any hope of turning this around?

These are not normal times. Americans have been gripped by a widespread and deeply rooted pessimism in recent years. They are openly asking whether our nation can survive. A growing number of Americans fear that this period of our history is different and the crises we face today – and those coming up over the horizon – may be far worse than anything we have experienced in the past. Many Americans genuinely fear that God is preparing to remove his hand of protection and blessing from our country, or perhaps already has.

We must not kid ourselves. The evidence suggests we may very well be aboard the Titanic, heading for icebergs and inexplicably increasing our speed toward disaster. So many on board are unaware of the dangers fast approaching and not concerned in the slightest. We haven’t hit the icebergs yet, but if we don’t make a sharp turn fast, we soon will, and we will sink. Who will serve as our captain and crew going forward? Will they understand the gravity of the threat and have the wisdom, courage and speed to take appropriate action before it is too late? What is our role as passengers? Are we to succumb to decadence, indulging ourselves in amusements and entertainment and alcohol with no regard for our own safety or the safety of others aboard? Or will we rise up, sound the alarm, and take action while we can?

The good news is that God has shown mercy to our country in the past. In the early 1700s we experience what became known as the first Great Awakening. In the early 1800s, we experienced the Second Great Awakening. These were massive, widespread, game-changing eras of spiritual revival. In 1770, for example, there were fewer than two dozen Methodist churches in America. By 1860, there were nearly 20,000. In roughly the same time frame, the number of Baptists went from under 200,000 to more than one million.

These revivals were not a panacea. They did not save every soul or solve every social ill. No revival ever has or will. But the good news is this: the historical evidence is clear and compelling that many Americans found salvation during these periods, and American society as a whole was dramatically impacted and improved by both of these revivals.

One piece of observable evidence in this regard is the explosive growth in the number of church congregations that were established in the wake of both Great Awakenings. At the same time, Christians during this period sought to put their faith into action to improve their neighborhoods and communities and the nation as a whole. They persuaded millions of children to enroll in Sunday school programs to learn about the Bible and pray for their nation. They opened orphanages and soup kitchens to care for the poor and needy. They started clinics and hospitals to care for the sick, elderly and infirm. They founded elementary and secondary schools for girls as well as boys. They established colleges and universities dedicated to teaching both the Scriptures and the sciences. They led social campaigns to persuade Americans to stop drinking so much alcohol and to abolish the evil of slavery. These Christians didn’t expect the government to take care of them. They believed it was the Church’s job to show the love of Christ to their neighbors in real and practical ways. They were right, and they made America a better place as a result – not perfect, but better.

Today, the central question of our time for Americans is this: Will the American people experience a Third Great Awakening? The Tea Party movement and to some extent the Occupy Wall Street Movement have launched a constitutional revival, returning to the principles of 200 years ago.

Maybe it’s time to go back 2,000 years for a spiritual renaissance. If not, our days may be numbered and a terrible implosion is coming. There is no more middle ground. It is one or the other.

Joel C. Rosenberg is a New York Times best-selling author with more than 2.5 million copies in print. His new book, "Implosion: Can America Recover from Its Economic and Spiritual Challenges in Time?" is published by Tyndale House Publishers.

(CNSNews.com) - Since Jan. 1 of this year, according to congressional testimony presented Thursday by the Government Accountability Office, the Federal Aviation Administration has authorized 106 federal, state and local government “entities” to fly “unmanned aircraft systems,” also known as drones, within U.S. airspace.

“We are now on the edge of a new horizon: using unmanned aerial systems within the homeland,” House Homeland Security Oversight Subcommittee Chairman Michael McCaul (R.-Texas) said as he introduced the testimony.

“Currently,” said McCaul, “there are about 200 active Certificates of Authorization issued by the Federal Aviation Administration to over 100 different entities, such as law enforcement departments and academic institutions, to fly drones domestically.”

Philadelphia (Catholic) Church Official Sentenced to at Least 3 Years in Prison

By JON HURDLE and ERIK ECKHOLM
Published: July 24, 2012

Matt Rourke/Associated Press

Monsignor William J. Lynn.

PHILADELPHIA — Msgr. William J. Lynn, the first Roman Catholic Church official in the United States to be convicted of covering up sexual abuses by priests under his supervision, was sentenced Tuesday to three to six years in prison.

“You knew full well what was right, Monsignor Lynn, but you chose wrong,” Judge M. Teresa Sarmina of Common Pleas Court said as she imposed the sentence, which was just short of the maximum of three and a half to seven years. Monsignor Lynn must serve at least three years before he is eligible for parole.

Monsignor Lynn, 61, was found guilty on June 22 of child endangerment after a three-month trial that revealed efforts over decades by the Philadelphia archdiocese to play down accusations of child sexual abuse and avoid scandal. He was acquitted of conspiracy and a second child endangerment charge.

Monsignor Lynn served as secretary for clergy for the 1.5 million-member archdiocese from 1992 to 2004, recommending priest assignments and investigating abuse complaints. During the trial, prosecutors presented evidence that he had shielded predatory priests, sometimes transferring them to unwary parishes, and lied to the public to avoid bad publicity and lawsuits.

The conviction of a senior official, followed by a prison sentence, has reverberated among Catholic officials around the country, church experts said.

“I think this is going to send a very strong signal to every bishop and everybody who worked for a bishop that if they don’t do the right thing, they may go to jail,” said the Rev. Thomas J. Reese, a senior fellow at the Woodstock Theological Center at Georgetown University. “They can’t just say ‘the bishop made me do it.’ That’s not going to be an excuse that holds up in court.”

In a three-minute statement before sentencing, Monsignor Lynn, dressed in a black clerical shirt and white collar, said: “I have been a priest for 36 years, and I have done the best I can. I have always tried to help people.”

Turning toward relatives of an abuse victim in the courtroom, he said, “I hope someday that you will accept my apology.”

But he did not comment on the broader accusations that he put children at risk by repeatedly protecting “monsters in clerical garb,” as Judge Sarmina described it at the hearing.

The sentence was a victory for the Philadelphia district attorney, R. Seth Williams, who said outside the courtroom, “Many people say that the maximum still would not have been enough.”

Monsignor Lynn’s lawyer, Thomas Bergstrom, called the sentence “unbalanced.” Last week, the defense argued that a long prison sentence would be “merely cruel and unusual.”

Prosecutors argued that the gravity of Monsignor Lynn’s crime — giving known sexual predators continued access to children, causing lifelong anguish and damage to some — was “off the charts.”

Monsignor Lynn’s lawyers said they would appeal the conviction, saying that the child endangerment law at the time did not apply to supervisors and that the judge erred in allowing testimony about accusations that were beyond the statute of limitations.

In a statement Tuesday, the Archdiocese of Philadelphia said that its procedures for protecting children had improved significantly since “the events some 10 years ago that were at the center of this trial.”

It acknowledged “legitimate anger in the broad community toward any incident or enabling of sexual abuse.” But it also described the sentence as overly harsh, saying “fair-minded people will question the severity.”

“We hope that when this punishment is objectively reviewed, it will be adjusted,” it said.

After the sentencing, Ann Casey, a friend of Monsignor Lynn for 36 years, said she believed he was a scapegoat and a victim of his intense faith in the archdiocese’s leaders. “It was his vow of obedience to the church that landed him this morning in jail,” she said.

During the trial, Monsignor Lynn’s lawyers argued that he had followed the instructions of Cardinal Anthony J. Bevilacqua, who was the archbishop of Philadelphia from 1988 to 2003 and who died in January.

Monsignor Lynn’s conviction was for lax oversight of one former priest, Edward V. Avery, who spent six months in a church psychiatric center in 1993 after an abuse episode. Doctors said he should be kept away from children. But Monsignor Lynn sent him to live in a rectory and did not warn parish officials.

In 1999, Mr. Avery engaged in oral sex with a 10-year-old altar boy. He pleaded guilty to the assault just before Monsignor Lynn’s trial and was sentenced to two and a half to five years in prison.

Staged Batman Psy-Op Justifies Obama and the UN Confiscating Our Guns

Susanne Posel

Occupy Corporatism
July 23, 2012

The police in Aurora say that James Holmes was the gunman wore complete SWAT team gear (including a tactical armored vest, throat protector, groin protector, a gas mask and a ballistic helmet) and opened fire on a theater full of movie goers at the Batman premier on Friday.

Mainstream media (MSM) is reporting that Homes dyed his hair red, calling himself “the Joker”; the arch-enemy of the Batman character.

Those who knew Holmes, like Billy Kromka , fellow pre-med student at the University of Colorado, said: “It was just shocking, because there was no way I thought he could have the capacity to do commit an atrocity like this.”

The question of Holmes being a violent criminal hell-bent on “killing everyone” does not add up when his personality and actions are scrutinized.
First off, Holmes was conducting research into neuroscience with his partner Kromka. Holmes was cooperative and easily surrendered to law enforcement. He informed police that his apartment was “booby trapped”.

Holmes arrived at the theater in complete SWAT team gear . MSM reported, according to a law enforcement officer, that Holmes had in his possession: “One rifle, two handguns, a knife, a bullet proof vest, a ballistic helmet, a gas device, a gas mask, military SWAT clothing and unidentified explosives were also found in Holmes’ car.”

Are to believe that a pre-med student had unlimited access to military grade weaponry without ties or connections to the US armed forces?

Witnesses now say that Holmes was not alone when he entered the theater but there was a second and yet, unidentified person with him, assisting in the initial stages of the attack.

While Holmes’ apartment was decked out with a “sophisticated” network of flammable devices, he must have had an unknown connection with access to military equipment that would assume that Holmes was not the lone gunman the MSM wants us to perceive him as; but rather a pasty controlled, most likely, by a federal agency who wants to introduce into the social meme the idea that stricter gun control legislation is necessary to prevent situations like this.

Operation Northwoods , a plan approved in the 1960s by the Chairman and the Joint Chiefs of Staff called for civilians to be shot in America while violent terrorism would be staged across the US. Pasty operatives would be framed for bombings, planes would appear to be hijacked and evidence would be planted to blame Castro in Cuba in an attempt to produce justification for war with Cuba.

These false flag attacks staged by the US federal agencies such as the FBI and CIA would include:

• Planted bombs and explosive materials
• Intercepted messages with suspected terrorist organizations
• Staged hijacking attempts
• Murder of America citizens to justify US federal agency agendas

It appears that the Batman shooting has the hallmarks of these false flag staged attacks with the employment of Holmes as the patsy involved in a supposed abuse of gun laws that ultimately need to be revised for the safety of the general public.

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg has been dropping comments about the need for gun control in America. On Friday, Bloomberg said that he was demanding that the presidential candidates “stand up and tell us what they’re going to do about” preventing mass shootings.

Bloomberg went on to say: “I mean, there’s so many murders with guns every day. It’s just gotta stop. No matter where you stand on the Second Amendment, no matter where you stand on guns, we have a right to hear from both of them, concretely, not just in generalities, specifically, what are they going to do about guns?”

Senator Ron Johnson, speaking to Fox News Sunday, asserted that additional measures to restrict ammunition purchased would infringe on the 2nd Amendment rights of Americans.

In opposition and supportive of the global Elite’s move toward destroying our 2nd Amendment, had this statement to make that ensures fear-mongering may outweigh the Constitutional rights we take for granted: “I believe people use these weapons because they can get them. I believe that a revolver, a rifle, a hand gun isn’t going to do the damage. It’s the big clips, a hundred rounds. You can’t get to him to dislodge the gun because he can fire so rapidly and has so many bullets.”

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released a statement giving rise to the Batman shooting as having been in the “cards” for quite some time.

According to the press release:”An early April 2012 suicide bombing of a theater in Somalia and a violent extremist communication advocating attacks on US theaters highlight terrorists’ continued interest in attacking such venues. Although we have no specific or credible information indicating that terrorists plan to attack theaters in the United States, terrorists may seek to emulate overseas attacks on theaters here in the United States because they have the potential to inflict mass casualties and cause local economic damage.”

As the month long conference in New York on the UN Small Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) wraps up, President Obama and Hillary Clinton, US Secretary of State have voiced their support of the ATT that will lay plans for the abolishment of the 2nd Amendment in the US. Both have stated they will sign the ATT once it is resolved and finished on June 27, 2012.

While Senators wrote to Obama, expressing their apprehensions about ratifying a treaty that essentially shreds the US Constitution and the basis for law governing America, Obama has taken a concerted role in the creation of the ATT, while the UN commences with their conference.

The ATT, if ratified in the US Congress, will give the UN, an international body, control over our Constitutional rights; even to the extent of invalidating those rights if they do not fit in line with international mandates. The cover story is that the ATT will only regulate the trading and transfer of conventional arms across international borders. However, in globalist-speak it also includes the ambiguous language that allows the UN to force the US presidency to act in contrary to the 2nd Amendment.

The US State Department has tried to pull the wool over the American public’s eyes by publishing the Key US Redlines that supposed to make sure that the 2nd Amendment would be upheld regardless of adherence to the ATT. This lie is evidenced in the Constitution, Article VI, and clause 2 known as the “supremacy clause”.

Propaganda machines like the Arms Control Association (ACA), funded by globalist fronts the Ford Foundation and Carnegie Corporation, have released rhetoric written by ACA Executive Director Daryl Kimball and Wyatt Hoffman expounding on “allegations that an ATT would infringe on the right of US citizens to legally possess firearms amount to irresponsible demagoguery. No one, except maybe illicit arms dealers and human rights abusers, should oppose common-sense international standards for regulating the global arms trade.”

Obama is using the Batman shooting, along with the attack on House Representative Gabrielle Giffords to give credence to his demand of Congress to ratify the UN’s ATT. His staged visit to Colorado will be nothing more than a PR stunt to convince the American public that stricter gun control legislation will stop these “senseless acts of violence.”

The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), the globalist think-tank has asserted their own lies to quell the general public into believing that the ATT will not destroy our Constitutional right to self-defense. Stewart M.Patrick, writer for The Internationalist claims: “The treaty is limited to the international trade of conventional arms, which pertains to the buying, selling, transshipping, transferring, or loaning across borders. . . the treaty is primarily aimed at countries in which rigorous controls and oversight are absent, in an attempt to harmonize and coordinate standards worldwide.”

Like the CFR, globalist supporters like the International Action Network on Small Arms (IANSA) work hard to ensure the global Elite can confiscate small arms nationally and internationally by clamoring for strict gun controls, and even states that citizens do not have the right to self-defense if it means allowing regular citizens to arms themselves. IANSA is funded primarily through globalist channels like the Ford Foundation and the Rockefeller Foundation.

The actions of Holmes before and after the shooting are reminiscent of all CIA mind-controlled operatives who are planted, used as obedient automatons, then arrested and vilified in the MSM to keep the general public from seeing through the staged event. The price for this psy-op is the destruction of the 2nd Amendment.

Staged terrorism is one card the US government is good at; having practiced in foreign nations under the guise of “regime change” by implanting CIA trained operatives (calling them “the opposition”) and causing their desired effect – which is control over what was once a sovereign country.

Here in the US, the psy-op is staged to create and fulfill the Hegelian Dialectic where the federal government, in conjunction with local law enforcement, creates the Problem-Reaction-Solution paradigm to ensure their agenda is the outcome of the event.

Here we see a shooter, armed with military grade weapons, killing innocent people in a staged attack for the sake of justifying the confiscation of all firearms from American citizens once the Obama administration finishes their dealings with the UN in an effort to disarm all citizens in all governments.

It is time to wake up America.

Was the Batman movie shooting imitated from scene in 1986 comic?

July 20, 2012

Sean Higgins
The Washington Examiner

Photo -

The horrific shooting at the screening of The Dark Knight Rises in Colorado late last night bears eerie similarities to a scene in the 1986 comic Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. In the comic, a crazed, gun-toting loner walks into a movie theater and begins shooting it up, killing three in the process. The passage concludes with the media blaming Batman for inspiring the shooting, though he is not involved in the incident at all.

The 1986 comic, written and drawn by Frank Miller, was a key inspiration for the Chris Nolan Batman films. It helped to reimagine the character away from his Saturday morning cartoon image and into a dark, grim avenger. The point of this particular scene in the comic was to show just how far Gotham has fallen since Batman had retired.

Was the shooter imitating this scene from the comic? Maybe, although in the scene the shooter is portrayed as inspired by his disgust at pornography and heavy metal music. The police’s investigation will surely reveal more in the near future.

Editor's note: This post has been updated to reflect the correct date of the 1986 comic, The Dark Knight Returns.

Sign Unchanged for Church Founded by Tennessee Pastor Arrested in Loma Linda

A photo taken Friday July 20 in Guys, Tenn., shows the church founded by Pastor Walter McGill is still called 'Creation Seventh Day Adventist Church.'

The sign at a church founded by a pastor arrested July 13 in Loma Linda remained unchanged a week later, a newspaper in Tennessee reports.

A photo taken Friday July 20 in Guys, Tenn., shows the church founded by Pastor Walter McGill is still called "Creation Seventh Day Adventist Church."

McGill and the Seventh-day Adventist Church of North America are involved in a trademark infringement dispute, according to court records. McGill is founder of Creation Seventh Day Adventist Church in Guys, Tenn., and the dispute is over use of the name "Seventh-day Adventist."

A federal judge in Tennessee has enjoined McGill and his followers "from using the mark SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST, including the use of the words SEVENTH-DAY or ADVENTIST, or the acronym SDA," court records state. McGill's refusal to abide by the court order led the warrant for his arrest.

The 66-year-old pastor was arrested on a federal contempt of court warrant July 13 on the grounds of the Loma Linda University Seventh-day Adventist Church by U.S. Marshals based in Los Angeles.

Approximately 6,500 members of the Loma Linda University Seventh-day Adventist Church comprise the largest Adventist congregation in North America, according to the church's website.

McGill is serving a 30-day jail sentence in San Bernardino County. He was being held Saturday at Central Detention Center in San Bernardino and he was ineligible for bail, according to county inmate records.

At a hearing Wednesday in Riverside, "McGill was remanded to the custody of the US Marshals to serve 30 days in custody, as per the district court's contempt order," Department of Justice spokesman Thom Mrozek said earlier this week.

McGill will serve the remainder of his time in San Bernardino County, Deputy U.S. Marshal Laura Vega said in a phone interview.

A pdf copy of the federal court order that preceded a warrant for McGill's arrest is attached to this report.

The July 20 photo was submitted to Redlands-Loma Linda Patch by the Independent Appeal newspaper in McNairy County, Tennessee.

The Roman Catholic Church and the Jehovah's Witnesses

1. Both the Roman Catholic Church and the Jehovah's Witnesses believe that they are the one true church.

2. The Roman Catholic Church and the Jehovah's Witnesses have one church leader. The Roman Catholic Church has the Pope whom they claim is an apostolic succession from Peter who "holds the keys to heaven". The Jehovah's Witnesses have the President who rules with an iron hand.

3. The Roman Catholic Church and the Jehovah's Witnesses believe that their baptism in necessary for salvation. The Roman Catholic Church is born again not by their faith but through water initiation into the Roman Catholic Church. The Jehovah's Witness is baptized into the organization after a period of study, knocking on doors, attending meeting and answering questions. After proving their loyalty, they are then baptized in the name of the Jehovah's Witnesses and must submit to them only.

4. The Roman Catholic Church and Jehovah's Witnesses base their salvation on a complicated system of works and deny salvation by faith alone.

5. Both Christian cults deny the Biblical view of the Atonement. The Roman Catholic church doctrine dictates that one must go to Purgatory to have his sins purged, Jesus just paved the way. The Jehovah's Witnesses are much like the Roman Catholics in their teachings. Jesus paved the way to salvation but we must earn it through our works.

6. The Roman Catholic Church claims visions and apparitions in an effort to add false doctrine. The Jehovah's Witness founder, Charles Taze Russell was considered a prophet and "the Laodicean Messenger". The Watchtower Society claims that God used angels to communicate with their organization.

7. The Roman Catholic Church and the Jehovah's Witnesses believe the Bible cannot be understood today without their interpretation.

8. The Roman Catholic Church and the Jehovah's Witnesses forbid the use of the Bible alone.

9. *The Jehovah's Witnesses used Jesuits and Roman Catholic manuscripts to aid in the translation of the New World Translation.

10. Both the Roman Catholic Church and the Jehovah's Witnesses have a history of sexual abuse and child molestation activity in their organization.

11. Both church organizations believe that leaving their church will result in eternal damnation.

12. The Roman Catholic Church and the Jehovah's Witnesses were in secret support of Hitler and the hatred for the Jews.

13. The Roman Catholic Church and the Jehovah's Witnesses base some of their doctrine on pagan traditions. For The Roman Catholic Church the traditions of a goddess, rosary, pope, relics, purgatory, transubstantiation (Egyptian sun god), praying to dead people, and idol worship are all based on paganism. The Jehovah's Witnesses included a symbol of theEgyptian sun god, the zodiac sign, and pyramidology in it's doctrinal structure and teachings.

14. The Roman Catholic Church and the Jehovah's Witnesses have changed Bible verses to teach their doctrine.

The Roman Catholic Church formed it's changes in the Vulgate:

Genesis 3:15 "He will crush your head" was changed to "She will......" This was to get the RC members to believe that Mary was our Savior as opposed to Christ.

Genesis 14:18 Melchizedek was said to have "sacrificed" bread and wine. The church changed this to bring in the transubstantiation concept.

John 14:26 said the Holy Spirit "will reveal whatever (Jesus) will say" to His church, rather than "did say." This was to support tradition.

Jehovah's Witnesses use the New World Translation (NWT). Some of the perversions:

John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." NASB The New World Translation: "the word was a god".

Colossians 2:9 "For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form," NASB The New World Translation: "divine quality" instead of Deity. The verses are twisted to take away the Deity of Christ.

Philippians 1:23 "But I am hard-pressed from both directions, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, for that is very much better; NASB New World Translation: "what I do desire is the releasing and the being with Christ," This verse is twisted to promote soul sleeping.

Genesis 9:4 "Only you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood." NASB

Leviticus 17:26-27 "You are not to eat any blood, either of bird or animal, in any of your dwellings. Any person who eats any blood, even that person shall be cut off from his people.''' NASB The verses are twisted to deny blood transfusions.

15. The Roman Catholic Church and the Jehovah's Witnesses deny that Christ is the Mediator for all men. The Roman Catholic Church includes Mary as a Mediatrix or CO-mediator. The Jehovah's Witnesses teach that Jesus is the Mediator for the 144,000 only. The rest are out of luck.

Obama Asserts Executive Privilege to Hide Involvement in... 'Fast and Furious'

In a vein effort to cover his tracks and protect his cohorts, President Barack Obama is claiming “executive privilege” regarding Fast and Furious (F&F) documents that expose their operation to smuggle weapons into Mexico by way of US agents that were handed off directly to Mexican drug cartels.

The House Oversight Committee (HOC), headed by Chair Darrell Issa, is flat out demanding that classified and undisclosed documents that show the Department of Justice (DoJ) and Attorney General Eric Holderwere directly involved with the F&F operation.

Just as the Oversight Committee votes on holding Holder in contempt or not, Obama claims a thinly veiled retreat; perhaps to mitigate his exposed connection to the DoJ’s involvement in the ruined operation.

Holder had attempted to subvert responsibility by offering to negotiate with Congress; yet Issa refused, moving forward with a motion for contempt of Congress.

Issa asserts:

“The committee has uncovered serious wrongdoing by the Justice Department. That wrongdoing has cost lives on both sides of the border.”

James Cole, Deputy Attorney General for the DoJ, wrote a letter to Issa acknowledging Holder’s,

“failure to comply with the Committee’s subpoena of October 11, 2011” however they claim they have made an “extraordinary effort to accommodate the Committee’s legitimate oversight interests” and provided “over 7,600 pages of documents and has made numerous high-level officials available for public congressional testimony, transcribed interviews, and briefings.”

The DoJ is choosing to call out their authority and hope to intimidate the HOC into ceasing all pursuant activity.

By citing that the DoJ’s Attorney General has opened an investigation in F&F, and that it is ongoing, supplants nothing. It only ensures by their words that getting caught during a covert operation will “not occur again.”

Holder and Obama have been discussing how to handle the F&F scandal. Choosing to hide under the cover of US presidency has only stood to fuel questions about Obama’s participation, knowledge and role in the operation.

Earlier this week, Holder advised Obama to use his executive privilege card concerning the internal documents of the F&F operations that would,

“have significant, damaging consequences.”

Holder went on to explain that handing over the documents to Congress,

“would inhibit candor of such Executive Branch deliberations in the future and significantly impair the Executive Branch’s ability to respond independently and effectively to congressional oversight.”

In an effort to downplay Obama’s use of executive privilege, Eric Schultz, White House spokesman said:

“dating back to President Reagan, presidents have asserted executive privilege 24 times. President Obama has gone longer without asserting the privilege in a congressional dispute than any president in the last three decades.”

However House Speaker John Boehner points out that Obama’s choice,

“implies that White House officials were either involved in the ‘Fast and Furious’ operation or the cover-up that followed.”

Executive privilege can be overturned with a court order, however history shows it is resolved mostly through negotiations .

The HOC has decided to hold Holder in contempt for failing to cooperate with their congressional inquiry into F&F.

Holder asserted that the HOC action was,

“divisive” and “does nothing to make any of our law enforcement agents safer.”

He maintains that his job is to “protect the American people” and this Committee is subverting his efforts to execute his job properly.

The family of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, who was killed by member of a Mexican drug cartel with guns that the DoJ provided them through F&F, has come forth to respond to Obama’s use of executive privilege.

Their statement reads that,

“President Obama’s assertion of executive privilege serves to compound this tragedy. It denies the Terry family and the American people the truth.”

The Terry family have been requesting for over a year and a half for the US government to hold those responsible within the government to “justice and accountability”.

They recognize that it is very,

“disappointing that [the Terry family] are now faced with an administration that seems more concerned with protecting themselves rather than revealing the truth behind Operation Fast and Furious.”

And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake...

9 But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.

10 And the gospel must first be published among all nations.

11 But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.

12 Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.

13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

THE NATURE AND SIDES OF THE FINAL CONFLICT.

Every Human Being Will Be Either in Christ's Army or Satan's Army in the Final Conflict.
We are nearing the close of this earth's history, when two parties alone can exist; and every man, woman, and child, will be in one of these armies. Jesus will be the General of one army; of the opposing army, Satan will be the leader. All who are breaking and teaching others to break the law of God, the foundation of His government in heaven and earth, are marshaled under one superior chief, who directs them in opposition to the government of God. And "the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation," are rebels against the law of God, and enemies of all who love and obey His commandments. These subjects, with Satan their leader, will gather others into their ranks through every possible means, to strengthen his forces and urge his claims.

Satan's Deceptive Tactics to Deceive, If Possible, the Elect.
Through his deceptions and delusions, Satan would, if possible, deceive the very elect. His is no minor deception. He will seek to annoy, to harass, to falsify, to accuse and misrepresent all whom he cannot compel to give him honor and help him in his work. His great success lies in keeping men's minds confused and ignorant of his devices, for then he can lead the unwary, as it were, blindfolded....

The Sabbath Is the Great Test Question That Will Distinguish the Loyal From the Disloyal.
The Sabbath is the great test question. It is the line of demarcation between the loyal and true, and the disloyal and transgressor. This Sabbath God has enjoined, and, those who claim to be commandment-keepers, who believe that they are not under the proclamation of the third angel's message, will see the important part the Sabbath of the fourth commandment holds in that message. It is the seal of the living God. They will not lessen the claims of the Sabbath to suit their business or convenience.--Manuscript 34, 1897, pp. 1, 12. (Untitled Manuscript, n.d., 1897.)

Updated: Seventh-day Adventists file suit against Alabaster over door-to-door solicitations

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- The South Central Conference of Seventh-day Adventists has filed a federal lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of two City of Alabaster ordinances that the church says bars it and other religious groups and charities from door-to-door solicitations unless they first register and pay license fees.

The lawsuit was filed after a member of the church's Summer Student Missionary Program was ticketed in June by an Alabaster police officer for selling books door-to-door without a City of Alabaster permit, the lawsuit states. The group suspended its program in Alabaster after the citation.

"The City of Alabaster has enacted two sweeping ordinances that unconstitutionally restrict the exchange of beliefs and religious principles within the Alabaster city limits," the lawsuit states. The ordinances were enacted in 1994.

The lawsuit seeks a court order that declares the ordinances unconstitutional and bars the city from enforcing them.

U.S. District Judge Karon O. Bowdre has set a hearing in the case for Wednesday at the Hugo L. Black U.S. Courthouse in downtown Birmingham. Bowdre ordered that any evidence, or argument, that Alabaster wishes to submit in opposition to the Seventh-day Adventists' request for an order temporarily blocking enforcement of the city ordinances while the lawsuit is pending, must be submitted by noon Tuesday.

The City of Alabaster has issued the following statement Monday afternoon:

"The city welcomes and respects groups and individuals of all beliefs and persuasions to enjoy equally the freedoms guaranteed by the United States Constitution and the Constitution of the State of Alabama," according to the statement from Alabaster City Attorney Jeffrey Brumlow.

"Both Alabama state law governing door-to-door charitable solicitation, and the ordinances of the city governing the same, have been and will continue to be applied neutrally to all individuals and groups who solicit sales and charitable contributions door-to-door within the city, as well as paid solicitors for nonprofit organizations and groups. The city does not and will not tolerate any form of discrimination against any group or individual on any basis."

The city, however, will not comment on specifics in matters of pending litigation, according to the statement. "However, the city denies the allegations in the lawsuit and will file a formal answer as required by law. The city continues the investigation into this matter."

Todd R. McFarland, associate general counsel with the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists in Maryland, said Sunday that the church has had police officers in other cities ticket student missionaries under similar laws in those places. But he said nine times out of 10 they can work it out with the city, he said.

In the case of Alabaster, they weren't able to work out a solution and filed the lawsuit Friday, McFarland said. It is the first lawsuit of its type -- regarding door-to-door solicitations -- filed by the church in at least a decade, he said.

Under the Summer Student Missionary Program, the lawsuit states, teams travel to a pre-determined destination and canvass door to door. The teams offer free literature about the Seventh-day Adventist faith, engage in verbal evangelism, and solicit charitable donations to help support the program.

The church in April had sent the Alabaster Police Department a letter explaining its program.

"On Constitutional grounds, we must respectfully decline to seek any permit or license. We feel no government has the right to require and order payment of fees or take for the purpose of engaging in this door-to-door ministry," according to the letter.

Two Alabaster ordinances place restrictions on any person or group engaged in pamphleteering or solicitation anywhere in the city, according to the lawsuit. One is a business license permit ordinance and the other is a solicitation ordinance, according to the lawsuit.

The lawsuit states that Alabaster has a lengthy and financially burdensome solicitation permit process, which includes review by a city council-appointed committee and the potential for a public hearing.

"These ordinances directly target, and impose a prior restraint upon, speech afforded the highest levels of protection by the First Amendment," the lawsuit states. "Courts have routinely rejected governmental efforts to impose this sort of sweeping prior restraint on speech, and particularly so when the speech involved lies at the very core of our constitutional system."
