THERE ARE NO CONSPIRACIES

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 15, 2012

According to several nationwide polls, 96 percent of Americans do NOT VISIT conspiracy web sites (4 per cent of Americans believe the polls are a conspiracy).

However, a little research revealed that of the 1,200 conspiracy web sites, a hundred and twelve percent of them think the majority of Americans are so brain-dead that if a micro-drone flew up their noses it would meet no resistence coming out of their ears, but, it would never come out their rectums.

Is it any wonder that it’s difficult to convince family, friends, co-workers and total strangers at Star bucks that you’re NOT crazy, when all the polls say YOU ARE.

I know personally that there are conspiracies. Right now the Weather Channel says it’s NOT raining, but it is. What’s that if not a conspiracy to get me wet.

Actually, every one knows that no - ONE - CONSPIRES to commit a crime because it takes more than - ONE - to commit a conspiracy, plus there are laws against it, which is why our government doesn’t do it.

And if you don’t believe me ask the 4 per cent of Americans who think they are informed (if you can find one).

Ooooh....there is one.

Top Catholic defends Obama invite against conservative criticism

Top Catholic defends Obama invite against conservative criticism
Cardinal Timothy Dolan defended inviting President Obama to the 2012 Al Smith Dinner.

Washington (CNN) – Cardinal Timothy Dolan, America’s most prominent Catholic official, defended on Wednesday the decision to invite President Barack Obama to a major Catholic dinner in the face of criticism from conservatives, saying the event is an opportunity for “friendship, civility and patriotism” amid a heated political campaign.

Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney also has accepted an invitation to the Al Smith Dinner, an annual Catholic fundraiser in New York with a rich history. Since Richard Nixon and John F. Kennedy spoke at the event in 1960, it has been a regular stop for presidents and presidential candidates of both major parties.

Some conservative Catholic groups had asked Dolan – the archbishop of New York and the president of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops - to reconsider the Obama invitation in light of what they say are attacks on religious freedom by the administration.

“As faithful Catholics, we cannot set aside our deeply-held differences and put in any place of honor those who continuously attack the tenets of our faith, and even our very ability to practice that faith,” wrote President Father Shenan J. Boquet of Human Life International.

In the past, some presidential candidates have not been invited to the dinner. For example, in 2004, Cardinal Edward M. Egan did not invite then Democratic challenger John Kerry nor Republican President George W. Bush to the event. In 1996, President Clinton was not invited after Cardinal John O'Connor criticized him for vetoing a bill that would have outlawed some late-term abortions.

In a Wednesday blog post on the Archdiocese of New York’s website, Dolan acknowledged the controversy, writing that he is “receiving stacks of mail protesting the invitation to President Obama (and by the way, even some objecting to the invitation to Governor Romney).”

But Dolan wrote that it is “better to invite than to ignore.”

“The teaching of the Church… is that the posture of the Church towards culture, society, and government is that of engagement and dialogue,” Dolan wrote in his blog post, saying it is “more effective to talk together than to yell from a distance, more productive to open a door than to shut one.”

Bill Donohue, president of the conservative Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, which has been vocally opposed to many Obama administration initiatives, is defending Dolan’s decision.

“If Catholics want to change the culture, they need to engage it,” Donohue said in a statement. “It means we fraternize with those with whom we disagree with at city, state and federal functions. It does not mean that we are selling out.”

Dolan was clear that his invitation of President Obama did not mean that the religious leader was changing his position on abortion, religious freedom and other issues that the Catholic Church has been at odds with the Obama administration over.

“In fact, one could make the case that anyone attending the dinner, even the two candidates, would, by the vibrant solidarity of the evening, be reminded that America is at her finest when people, free to exercise their religion, assemble on behalf of poor women and their babies, born and unborn, in a spirit of civility and respect,” Dolan wrote.

Dolan has been vocal in his opposing Obama’s stance on abortion, same-sex marriage and the Health and Human Services rule requiring employees to receive free contraception coverage through their health insurance, which he says violates religious freedom.

The Al Smith Dinner is held at the swanky Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in Manhattan, where candidates are asked to give short speeches, which are typically comedic and self-deprecating. In 2008, Obama and then-Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain joked about themselves a few weeks before the November election.

“Maverick I can do,” joked McCain about the admiration surrounding Obama, “but messiah is above my pay grade.” Obama returned the favor and joked about the McCain campaign's attempt to brand Obama as a celebrity.

“[I] punched a paparazzi on my way out of Spago's,” Obama joked. “I even spilled my soy chai latte.”

U.S. Government's Foreign Debt Hits Record $5.29 Trillion

(CNSNews.com) - The money the U.S. government owes to foreign entities rose to a record $5.2923 trillion in June, according to data released by the U.S. TreasuryWednesday afternoon.

In May, the U.S. Treasury had owed $5.2581 trillion to foreign entities. On net, in June, the U.S. government borrowed an additional $34.2 billion from foreign entities in order to fund U.S. government operations.

The U.S. government’s indebtedness to foreign interests has grown by 72.3 percent during President Barack Obama’s term in office. In January 2009, when Obama was inaugurated, the U.S. government owed $3.0717 trillion to foreign entities, according to the Treasury Department. That has increased by $2.2206 trillion—or 72.3 percent—to the record $5.2923 trillion reported for yesterday.

Entities in the People’s Republic of China remain the largest holders of U.S. government debt. Entities in Japan, however, are on track to eclipse the Chinese as the top holders of U.S. government debt.

In June, the Chinese held $1.1643 trillion in U.S. government debt, up slightly from the $1.1640 trillion in U.S. government debt the Chinese held in May. However, Chinese ownership of U.S. government debt hit an historical peaked of $1.3149 trillion in July 2011 and has been on a generally downward trend since then.

Entities in Japan, by contrast, have been consistently increasing their ownership of U.S. government debt. In June, the Japanese owned $1.1193 trillion in U.S. debt. In May, they owned $1.1089 trillion in U.S. debt. A year ago, in June 2011, the Japanese owned only $881.5 in U.S. government debt.

Although the Chinese maintained their place as the top foreign owners of U.S. debt in June, they are not the top owners of U.S. debt in the world. That distinction belongs to the U.S. Federal Reserve, which according to its July monthly report, owned $1.667 trillion in U.S. government debt in June.

As of the end of June, the total debt of the federal government was $15,856,367,214,324.44. However, of that debt, $4,812,182,369,712.78 was money the federal government owed to itself (i.e. money the Treasury had borrowed from federal trust funds such as the Social Security Trust Fund, etc.). The Treasury calls this type of debt “intragovernmental” debt. The remaining $11,044,184,844,611.66 the federal government owed as of the end of June was debt held by the “public.” This is debt in the form of Treasury securities the government is obligated to pay off in cash.

The combined $6.9593 trillion that U.S. Treasury owed both to foreign entities ($5.2923 trillion) and the Federal Reserve ($1.667 trillion) at the end of June, equaled about 63 percent of the federal government’s debt held by the public.

(Matthew 6:1) Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.

(Matthew 6:2) Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

(Matthew 6:3) But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:

(Matthew 6:4) That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.

(Matthew 6:5) And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

(Matthew 6:6) But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

(Matthew 6:7) But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

(Matthew 6:8) Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

(Matthew 6:9) After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

(Matthew 6:10) Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

(Matthew 6:11) Give us this day our daily bread.

(Matthew 6:12) And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

(Matthew 6:13) And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

(Matthew 6:14) For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

(Matthew 6:15) But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

(Matthew 6:16) Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

(Matthew 6:17) But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;

(Matthew 6:18) That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.

(Matthew 6:19) Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

(Matthew 6:20) But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

(Matthew 6:21) For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

(Matthew 6:22) The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

(Matthew 6:23) But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

Biden to voters: GOP will put you ‘back in chains’

Published: 2:49 PM 08/14/2012

By Neil Munro

Gov. Mitt Romney’s campaign denounced Vice-President Joe Biden’s inflammatory claim today that GOP policies would put Democratic voters “all back in chains.”

“President Obama should tell the American people whether he agrees with Joe Biden’s comments,” said a statement from the Romney campaign.

The incendiary comments were delivered in a morning stump-speech in Danville, Va., which is near the border with North Carolina.

President Barack Obama will likely lose those states in November, unless there’s a high turnout of his African-American supporters. A recent survey by Public Policy Polling, however, found that Romney stands to gain as much as 20 percent of the African-American vote in North Carolina.

Also, Obama’s team is generally trying to focus attention away from the economy, which is stalled, amid high unemployment and high deficits.

In his speech, Biden declared that “Romney wants to, he said in the first 100 days, he’s gonna let the big banks again write their own rules — unchain Wall Street.”

“They’re going to put y’all back in chains,” he added, in a low, threatening voice.

Roughly 40 percent of the 800-person audience was African-American, according to news reports.

“After weeks of slanderous and baseless accusations leveled against Governor Romney, the Obama Campaign has reached a new low,” the Romney campaign announced midday.

“The comments made by the Vice President of the United States are not acceptable in our political discourse and demonstrate yet again that the Obama Campaign will say and do anything to win this election,” he said.

Romney’s campaign also used the episode to portray Obama’s re-election effort as “a desperate campaign based on division and demonization,” according to an afternoon statement Romney’s spokeswoman, Andrea Saul.

“We now know he’s willing to say that Governor Romney wants to put people back in chains… [and is] accusing Mitt Romney of being a felon, having been responsible for a woman’s tragic death,” she said.

The Obama campaign sought there was a deny racial angle in Biden’s statement to his African-American supporters, and instead said Biden misspoke.

“Speaker Boehner, Congressman Ryan, and other Republicans have called for the ‘unshackling’ of the private sector from regulations that protect Americans from risky financial deals… the Vice President has often used a similar metaphor to describe the need to ‘unshackle’ the middle class,” said the statement, which was attributed to deputy campaign chief Stephanie Cutter.

“Today’s comments were a derivative of those remarks, describing the devastating impact letting Wall Street write its own rules again would have on middle class families,” said the statement.

Obama’s campaign, however, also tried to change the subject.

“We find the Romney campaign’s outrage over the Vice President’s comments today hypocritical, particularly in light of their own candidate’s stump speech questioning the President’s patriotism. Now, let’s return to that ‘substantive’ debate Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan promised 72 hours ago, but quickly abandoned.”

The claim that the GOP’s deregulatory policies would damage the economy is a standard stump-speech claim by Biden and Obama, even though George. W. Bush supported the 1990s regulations that spurred the real-estate bubble.

Those regulations required banks to provide favorable mortgages to lower-income Americans, including many African-Americans.

Romney generally favors deregulation, but has not said he will try to roll back the 1990s regulations, including the controversial Community Reinvestment Act. The act was used by progressives to pressure many banks to make loans to lower-ncome people.

Paul Ryan, Catholic Who Looks to Church's Social Teaching, Tapped as Romney Running Mate

Wisconsin congressman cheered by some as strong pro-lifer, criticized by others as wanting to reduce deficit ‘on the backs of the poor.’

A budget-cruncher who cites Catholic social teaching as an inspiration for his own economic thinking has been tapped for the second slot on the GOP presidential ticket.

Mitt Romney, the presumptive Republican nominee, on Saturday named Rep. Paul Ryan, chairman of the House Budget Committee and a seven-term congressman from Wisconsin, as his running mate.

The eagerly anticipated announcement was made in Norfolk, Va., where Ryan, 42, was joined on stage by his wife, Janna, and their three small children.

With the choice of Ryan, an advocate of entitlement reform and shrinking the size of the federal government, Romney has ensured that the role of government and the future of Medicare will figure prominently in this year’s race for the White House.

While Ryan has attracted harsh criticism from some Catholics — questioning whether he can rightly lay claim to the mantle of Catholic social teaching — other Catholics regard Ryan as an excellent choice.

“I am thrilled with the selection of Ryan,” Catholic theologian Michael Novak said, “because it emphasizes family, character and a vision that is on the offense against President Obama and that sees Obama as destroying the country’s military and financial structure and pitting class against class.”

“As a smart, serious Catholic, Congressman Ryan has been steadfast on issues of fundamental principle — defending religious liberty, life and traditional marriage,” The Catholic Association said in a press release.

“In addition, he has been thoughtful and articulate in applying Catholic principles to the other challenges facing America,” the statement added.

The selection also drew immediate praise from pro-life leaders.

“Paul Ryan has been an eloquent defender of life, articulating his view that policy and principles can work together,” said Charmaine Yoest, president and CEO of Americans United for Life. “On the issue of defending life in particular, the use of the bully pulpit is crucial, and we look forward to hearing more from Congressman Ryan on the need to ensure that every person is welcomed in life and protected in law.”

“By selecting Congressman Ryan as his vice-presidential running mate, Governor Romney demonstrates his commitment to protecting American women and unborn children,” said Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the Susan B. Anthony List. “He has a pristine pro-life voting record and will be an asset to Governor Romney’s campaign.”

Still, Ryan is controversial in some Catholic circles. When he spoke at Georgetown University last spring, he was greeted by a statement from 60 Catholic theologians who charged that his budget plan was “morally indefensible and betrays Catholic principles of solidarity, just taxation and a commitment to the common good.”

A letter from nearly 90 faculty and administration officials at Georgetown informed Ryan that his budget plan “appears to reflect the values of your favorite philosopher, Ayn Rand, rather than the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”

And — if that wasn’t enough — a committee of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, led by Bishop Stephen Blaire of Stockton, Calif., sent a letter to Congress criticizing the Ryan budget.

Ryan replied in a brief statement that he shared their “commitment to a preferential option for the poor” — a key element of Catholic social teaching — but added that the option “does does not mean a preferential option for bigger government.”

Speaking at Georgetown, Ryan said that some Catholics “for a long time have thought they had a monopoly of sorts … not exactly on heaven, but on the social teaching of our Church. Of course there can be differences among faithful Catholics on this.”

Throwing Granny Off a Cliff?

Ryan went on to say that the “overarching threat to our whole society today is the exploding federal debt. The Holy Father, Pope Benedict, has charged that governments, communities and individuals running up high debt levels are ‘living at the expense of future generations’ and ‘living in untruth.’"

“We in this country still have a window of time before a debt-fueled economic crisis becomes inevitable. We can still take control before our own needy suffer the fate of Greece. How we do this is a question for prudential judgment, about which people of good will can differ,” Ryan said at Georgetown.

Entering the fray Saturday morning, Ryan said, “I’m proud to stand with a man who understands what it takes to foster job creation in our economy, someone who knows from experience that if you have a small business — you did build that.”

This was a reference to President Obama’s “If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that” speech in July in Roanoke, Va. The remark, which has haunted the president’s campaign, is widely interpreted as putting the role of government over that of the individual.

With regard to Medicare, Ryan would allow the current system, as an option, but would introduce market-based competition and a patient-centered voucher system. This led to Democratic political ads featuring a Ryan lookalike pushing a grandmother in a wheelchair over a cliff.

“The first thing to understand is that granny is going to be thrown off the cliff anyway, if we don’t make changes to Medicare,” said Joseph Antos, Wilson H. Taylor Scholar in Health Care and Retirement Policy at the American Enterprise Institute. Antos said that Ryan’s plan would modernize Medicare and make it more efficient.

Saying that “on fiscal matters, Paul Ryan has no peer,” Antos noted that Ryan gets to the root of problems. Antos said that, for example, “Ryan understands that sequester [across the board cuts] is a really terrible idea because it doesn’t take on the tough issues.”

“I like the Ryan choice very much,” said Paul Kengor, author and professor of political science at Grove City College. “Liberals are going to be attacking him as lacking in compassion, being a deficit hawk and hurting the poor. But, as Ronald Reagan would say, the best anti-poverty program is a growing economy. Paul Ryan wants to help the poor by growing the economy and with policies more in line with [the Catholic principle of] subsidiarity.”

“Everybody is going to be using the word ‘gravitas,’” Kengor continued, “and Paul Ryan has gravitas. They won’t Quayle him. They can’t make him look like a deer in the headlights. He will be able to answer the questions.”

Breakaway Adventist denomination has underground Inland church

Posted on | August 13, 2012

Pastor Walter McGill

The Tennessee pastor who was arrested last month for contempt of court was freed from a San Bernardino jail this weekend.

But he said members of his Creation Seventh-day Adventist denomination worship every Saturday – the Adventist Sabbath – in an “underground” church in the Inland Empire.

The Rev. Walter McGill served 30 days at the San Bernardino County Central Detention Center for contempt of court, as part of a six-year dispute with the worldwide Seventh-day Adventist Church.

The church won a trademark infringement lawsuit against his denomination. McGill went to jail after he refused to obey a court order to stop using “Seventh-day Adventist Church” in the name of his congregation and denomination.

An associate, Lucan Chartier, served 10 days in the same jail and was released Aug. 9.

Chartier twice repainted Creation’s name on the denomination’s church in Guys, Tenn., after workers removed it under the court order. The denomination also has a church building in Uganda.

McGill declined to identify exactly where Creation members worship in the Inland area, because he said that, with the lawsuit, all could be at risk for legal action for being associated with the church. He said the several members travel from a range of locations to worship together on the Sabbath.

“We truly have what could be called a home church, an underground church,” he said.

“We want to formalize it, put up our sign and do what we did in Tennessee,” he added. “But later down the line, I’m sure the Seventh-day Adventist Church will attack us.”

McGill said he has discussed with members the implications of opening a formal church, including potential jail sentences and fines. McGill said Creation members in Southern California are praying as to what to do.

“I want for God to tell them what to do,” he said.

“What I suffered in jail, not everyone is willing to do,” McGill said. “This is my occupation. God has called me for this purpose. God has not called everyone to do this.”

The worldwide church has said its lawsuit was filed because when people see a congregation with “Seventh-day Adventist Church” in the name, they may believe it is affiliated with the worldwide Adventist Church.

A statement released by the North American Adventist Church last month said it does not want to close down McGill’s church. But it said that the use of the Adventist name “confuses the public, media and at times our own members.”

McGill, 66, has been on a liquid-only fast since he was jailed July 13. He said his weight dropped from 170 to 153 pounds.

“I intend to extend the fast 10 additional days for a total of 40, emulating the wilderness fast of my Lord and Savior,” McGill said.

McGill blamed the worldwide church for his jail sentence. The contempt order stemmed from church attorneys’ requests before the court, he said.

“It was truly the Seventh-day Adventist Church that required my incarceration,” he said.

In a statement emailed to me Monday afternoon, the church responded, “The Seventh-day Adventist Church has no interest in seeing Mr. McGill or his associates in jail nor is the church responsible for Mr. McGill’s disposition toward the court. The Seventh-day Adventist Church has neither legislative or judicial authority in that it neither makes or enforces the law. It grieves the church to see any person or group act in opposition of the law and be forced to suffer the penalty of their own actions. Our prayers will be with Mr. McGill.”

McGill said he was ridiculed by some inmates while in jail when he shared his beliefs. He also said another inmate struck him twice in the face – once with a slap, the other time with the bony area between the wrist and hand — when he declined to clean the bathroom on the Sabbath. He said he earlier had told his assailant he would clean any day but a Saturday.

Sgt. Derek Garvin, of the detention center, confirmed there was an incident and the other inmate was moved to a section of the jail for those with discipline problems. The inmate was punished with reduced privileges, including less recreation time and no television, Garvin said.

A battery report was filed, but McGill declined to prosecute, Garvin said.

McGill said that he didn’t want the man to be punished at all.

“Our Savior told us to turn the other cheek, and I did that,” he said. “I feel no animosity toward the man. I didn’t want the man to suffer.”

McGill said the lawsuit and his jailing have backfired because they have given his denomination unprecedented exposure.

“We are having record hits on our websites,” he said. “We are being overrun by phone calls and emails.”

How can you call that news?

I listen to the news on radio (NPR and on FOX) at the top of the hour and on the half hour. This is my usual way of staying up to the minute on current events and weather. Today, I have identified a trend in which every move that President Obama makes on his latest campaign tour (Iowa) is featured as the leading story on the brief program and as NEWS. Now, wait a minute; How can you call that news? And, how does it precede all other news items?

Every thirty minutes I hear: Hi, I'm Lakshmi Singh - President Obama .........Blasé blah.

I smell a rat!

Or, is it free advertising I smell? Maybe, free propaganda?

Frankly, I am weary of hearing about Obama's latest escapade.

DENVER | Mon Aug 13, 2012 7:41pm EDT

(Reuters) - A Colorado judge on Monday ordered that the bulk of key documents detailing the case against accused movie theater gunman James Holmes remain sealed, largely rejecting a request by news organizations to reverse a previous order.

Arapahoe County District Judge William Sylvester did allow for the release of 34 documents, mostly relating to media motions and procedural issues.

But he ordered that the documents media members most wanted to see - affidavits of probable cause, subpoenas, arrest warrants, search warrants, and requests for or court orders for production of records - all be kept under seal.

Prosecutors have charged Holmes with 24 counts of first degree murder and 116 counts of attempted murder in the July shootings at a midnight screening of the Batman film "The Dark Knight Rises" in Aurora, Colorado. Twelve people were killed and 58 were wounded.

Holmes, a 24-year-old former graduate student, was arrested shortly after the massacre. Authorities said he told police he was the "Joker" in a reference to Batman's comic-book nemesis.

He is being held in solitary confinement at the Arapahoe County jail.

Lawyers for 20 news organizations, including The New York Times, The Associated Press, The Denver Post and CBS News last week asked Sylvester to unseal the documents, arguing that such secrecy in a high-profile case "undermines our nation's firm commitment to the transparency and public accountability of the criminal justice system."

Thomson Reuters is not a party to the motion.

Media attorney Steven Zansberg, said the judge's limited ruling "brought much needed transparency" to the case but did not go far enough.

'FAR-REACHING CONSEQUENCES'

"We are disappointed that the affidavits of probable cause remain under seal at this time, but are hopeful that the court will revisit that issue sometime in the not too distant future," he said in a statement.

Prosecutors and defense lawyers have both objected to unsealing the documents, saying it was too early to open the file because the investigation was still ongoing. In most court cases, documents are open to the public.

Public defender Daniel King said at a court hearing last week that Holmes, a former neuroscience graduate student at the University of Colorado, suffered from a "mental illness" and had sought help before the mass shooting from university psychiatrist Lynne Fenton.

The remark was seen by legal experts as a signal that Holmes' defense attorneys may seek to mount an insanity defense on his behalf.

In Monday's ruling, the judge repeated his earlier order preventing the university from publicly discussing its dealings with Holmes because release of that information might violate therapist-patient privilege.

If privileged communications were disclosed it "would have serious far-reaching and potentially irreparable consequences to this case," the judge wrote.

A package that Holmes reportedly sent to Fenton is in the possession of the court clerk and will remain sealed and "inaccessible to anyone," he said.

Whether the package falls under the therapist-patient privilege will be addressed at a hearing later this week.

As in many states, mental healthcare providers in Colorado must warn authorities of potential violent behavior only when a patient has communicated a serious threat of imminent physical violence against a specific target.
