Cyberattack suspect had 'bunker' in north Spain

MADRID -- A Dutch citizen arrested in northeast Spain on suspicion of launching what is described as the biggest cyberattack in Internet history operated from a bunker and had a van capable of hacking into networks anywhere in the country, officials said Sunday.

The suspect traveled in Spain using his van "as a mobile computing office, equipped with various antennas to scan frequencies," an Interior Ministry statement said.

Agents arrested him Thursday in the city of Granollers, 35 kilometers (22 miles) north of Barcelona, complying with a European arrest warrant issued by Dutch authorities.

He is accused of attacking the Swiss-British anti-spam watchdog group Spamhaus whose main task is to halt ads for counterfeit Viagra and bogus weight-loss pills reaching the world's inboxes.

The statement said officers uncovered the computer hacker's bunker, "from where he even did interviews with different international media."

The 35-year-old, whose birthplace was given as the western Dutch city of Alkmaar, was identified only by his initials: S.K.

The statement said the suspect called himself a diplomat belonging to the "Telecommunications and Foreign Affairs Ministry of the Republic of Cyberbunker."

Spanish police were alerted in March by Dutch authorities of large denial-of-service attacks being launched from Spain that were affecting Internet servers in the Netherlands, United Kingdom and the U.S. These attacks culminated with a major onslaught on Spamhaus.

The Netherlands National Prosecution Office described them as "unprecedentedly serious attacks on the nonprofit organization Spamhaus."

The largest assault clocked in at 300 billion bits per second, according to San Francisco-based CloudFlare Inc., which Spamhaus enlisted to help it weather the onslaught.

Denial-of-service attacks overwhelm a server with traffic, jamming it with incoming messages. Security experts measure the attacks in bits of data per second. Recent cyberattacks -- such as the ones that caused persistent outages at U.S. banking sites late last year -- have tended to peak at 100 billion bits per second, one third the size of that experienced by Spamhaus.

Netherlands, German, British and U.S. police forces took part in the investigation leading to the arrest, Spain said.

The suspect is expected to be extradited from Spain to face justice in the Netherlands.

Sunday a rest day? No, it is the busiest

PTI Mar 30, 2013, 04.29AM IST

LONDON: Weekend myth busted! Sunday is no longer a day of rest as the average person carries out up to 15 chores, mainly washing and cleaning, a new United Kingdom study has found.

In a survey, as many as one in 10 people said on Sunday is in fact now the busiest day of the week, with ironing, washing and cleaning topping the jobs list.

Researchers found that two-thirds of people use the Sabbath day to catch up on tasks they have neglected on weekdays and performing other essential chores, 'Daily Express' reported.

The poll conducted by Beth McDonald of Chef and Brewer, said it was startling that even on Easter Sunday so many adults would be doing chores rather than relaxing with friends and family, the report said.

"The study shows that if it was not for weekends, and in particular Sundays, we would all fall behind with domestic chores and admin duties," McDonald said.

A relief finding from the study was that a third of the 2,000 adults polled said shops opening on Sundays made life easier for them, researchers said.

The Uncompromising Spirit*

There are several instances in the Bible when truth is upheld in spite of threats from the enemies of God.  Such is the case of the Three Hebrews Youths who refused to bow to a golden image, and were thrown into a fiery furnace;  Also, Daniel was seen praying (toward Jerusalem) in defiance of the decree that prohibited anyone to pray to anyone except the King, and was thrown into a den of  lions. These men would rather die than compromise their beliefs.

The Uncompromising Spirit*
'When it comes to sin'

There is an uncompromising spirit founded on the faith of Biblical Truth that transcends understanding; That is the spirit of the Prophet Jeremiah.  The Prophet Jeremiah was instructed by the Holy Spirit to give warnings to the Kingdom of Judah just before the Babylonian Captivity.  In Chapter 26 of the Book of Jeremiah, the Prophet was instructed to go to the House of God and speak the words the Lord commanded him:

1 In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah came this word from the Lord, saying,
2 Thus saith the Lord; Stand in the court of the Lord's house, and speak unto all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in the Lord's house, all the words that I command thee to speak unto them; diminish not a word:
3 If so be they will hearken, and turn every man from his evil way, that I may repent me of the evil, which I purpose to do unto them because of the evil of their doings.
4 And thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord; If ye will not hearken to me, to walk in my law, which I have set before you,
5 To hearken to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I sent unto you, both rising up early, and sending them, but ye have not hearkened;
6 Then will I make this house like Shiloh, and will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth.
7 So the priests and the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of the Lord.
8 Now it came to pass, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking all that the Lord had commanded him to speak unto all the people, that the priests and the prophets and all the people took him, saying, Thou shalt surely die.
9 Why hast thou prophesied in the name of the Lord, saying, This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate without an inhabitant? And all the people were gathered against Jeremiah in the house of the Lord.
10 When the princes of Judah heard these things, then they came up from the king's house unto the house of the Lord, and sat down in the entry of the new gate of the Lord's house.
11 Then spake the priests and the prophets unto the princes and to all the people, saying, This man is worthy to die; for he hath prophesied against this city, as ye have heard with your ears.
12 Then spake Jeremiah unto all the princes and to all the people, saying, The Lord sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city all the words that ye have heard.
13 Therefore now amend your ways and your doings, and obey the voice of the Lord your God; and the Lord will repent him of the evil that he hath pronounced against you.

When Jeremiah spoke what the Lord had commanded him to, he then expected the multitude to kill him;  But, he was not afraid of what they might do to him, instead he stated:

14 As for me, behold, I am in your hand: do with me as seemeth good and meet unto you.
15 But know ye for certain, that if ye put me to death, ye shall surely bring innocent blood upon yourselves, and upon this city, and upon the inhabitants thereof: for of a truth the Lord hath sent me unto you to speak all these words in your ears.

The uncompromising spirit is a manifestation of a faith fully committed to doing the will of God, an unflinching conviction to being loyal to God until the end of one's life. Jeremiah trusted God so much, that he would rather die than disobey Him.  This same spirit of conviction to the Truth was also present in Germany in the Sixteenth Century.

Martin Luther was a German Roman Catholic monk and a professor of Theology, who became aware of the apostasy of the system of pardon of sins (for the living  as well as the dead ) called 'indulgences' sold by Johann Tetzel, a Dominican Preacher. Luther confronted Tetzel with The Ninety-Five Theses.  Eventually, Martin Luther continued to study the Bible and began understanding the concept of Justification by Faith. As time went by Martin Luther understood that the Pope was the Biblical Antichrist; His observation became a personal confrontation with the Papacy and the Roman Catholic Church;  This lead to Luther's excommunication from the church and an order to appear before the Diet of Worms, where he was asked to retract the statements against the Pope (and the church) contained in his Nine-Five Theses.  Luther refused to recant his writings and stated:

Unless I am convinced by the testimony of the Scriptures or by clear reason (for I do not trust either in the pope or in councils alone, since it is well known that they have often erred and contradicted themselves), I am bound by the Scriptures I have quoted and my conscience is captive to the Word of God. I cannot and will not recant anything, since it is neither safe nor right to go against conscience. May God help me. Amen.

Just like Daniel and his three Hebrew friends (Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah), Jeremiah and Martin Luther, were all faithful to God Almighty; I want to be like them.  I would like to have that unwavering faith that is not compromised when challenged.  Lord help me not to ever apologize for speaking the words you place in my heart.  The Lord is the same everyday, He does not change.  Why should I not be the same?

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.  Hebrews 13:8

As I conclude, I am reminded of my favorite Spirit of Prophecy passage:

The greatest want of the world is the want of men—men who will not be bought or sold, men who in their inmost souls are true and honest, men who do not fear to call sin by its right name, men whose conscience is as true to duty as the needle to the pole, men who will stand for the right though the heavens fall. - Education, p.57

Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer has been hospitalized following a bicycle accident yesterday in Washington, D.C., a court spokesperson said today.

"Associate Justice Stephen Breyer underwent reverse shoulder replacement surgery for a proximal humerus fracture this morning at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital," court spokesperson Kathleen Arberg said. "The fracture was sustained in his right shoulder in a fall from his bicycle on Friday afternoon, April 26, near the Korean War Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital following his injury."

The surgery was successful and Breyer is resting comfortably, the spokesperson said. He is expected to be released from the hospital early in the week.

The justice previously broke his collarbone in an accident in 2011 and sustained broken ribs and a punctured lung in a bicycle mishap in 1993, before he joined the court, The Associated Press reported.

Justice Breyer was appointed by President Clinton to the Supreme Court in 1994. He is 74 years old.

Details surrounding the accident were not provided.

Last week the court held the last arguments of the term and now the justices are racing to finish writing opinions. The court will take the bench Monday to issue up to four opinions. The term is scheduled to end the last week of June.

.
P.S.

FYI: Justice Stephen Breyer is one of the three Jewish judges on the Supreme Court (the other six are Roman Catholics).

If Justice Breyer were to be replaced due to illness; Might there be another Roman Catholic appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court?

The Loud Cry

I saw angels hurrying to and fro in heaven, descending to the earth, and again ascending to heaven, preparing for the fulfillment of some important event. Then I saw another mighty angel commissioned to descend to the earth, to unite his voice with the third angel, and give power and force to his message. Great power and glory were imparted to the angel, and as he descended, the earth was lightened with his glory. The light which attended this angel penetrated everywhere, as he cried mightily, with a strong voice, "Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird." The message of the fall of Babylon, as given by the second angel, is repeated, with the additional mention of the corruptions which have been entering the churches since 1844. The work of this angel comes in at the right time to join in the last great work of the third angel's message as it swells to a loud cry. And the people of God are thus prepared to stand in the hour of temptation, which they are soon to meet. I saw a great light resting upon them, and they united to fearlessly proclaim the third angel's message.

Angels were sent to aid the mighty angel from heaven, and I heard voices which seemed to sound everywhere, "Come out of her, My people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities." This message seemed to be an addition to the third message, joining it as the midnight cry joined the second angel's message in 1844. The glory of God rested upon the patient, waiting saints, and they fearlessly gave the last solemn warning, proclaiming the fall of Babylon and calling upon God's people to come out of her that they might escape her fearful doom.

The light that was shed upon the waiting ones penetrated everywhere, and those in the churches who had any light, who had not heard and rejected the three messages, obeyed the call and left the fallen churches. Many had come to years of accountability since these messages had been given, and the light shone upon them, and they were privileged to choose life or death. Some chose life and took their stand with those who were looking for their Lord and keeping all His commandments. The third message was to do its work; all were to be tested upon it, and the precious ones were to be called out from the religious bodies. A compelling power moved the honest, while the manifestation of the power of God brought a fear and restraint upon their unbelieving relatives and friends so that they dared not, neither had they the power to, hinder those who felt the work of the Spirit of God upon them. The last call was carried even to the poor slaves, and the pious among them poured forth their songs of rapturous joy at the prospect of their happy deliverance. Their masters could not check them; fear and astonishment kept them silent. Mighty miracles were wrought, the sick were healed, and signs and wonders followed the believers. God was in the work, and every saint, fearless of consequences, followed the convictions of his own conscience and united with those who were keeping all the commandments of God; and with power they sounded abroad the third message. I saw that this message will close with power and strength far exceeding the midnight cry.

Servants of God, endowed with power from on high with their faces lighted up, and shining with holy consecration, went forth to proclaim the message from heaven. Souls that were scattered all through the religious bodies answered to the call, and the precious were hurried out of the doomed churches, as Lot was hurried out of Sodom before her destruction. God's people were strengthened by the excellent glory which rested upon them in rich abundance and prepared them to endure the hour of temptation. I heard everywhere a multitude of voices saying, "Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus."

There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down

All the predictions given by Christ concerning the destruction of Jerusalem were fulfilled to the letter. The Jews experienced the truth of His words of warning: “With what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.” Matthew 7:2.

Signs and wonders appeared, foreboding disaster and doom. In the midst of the night an unnatural light shone over the temple and the altar. Upon the clouds at sunset were pictured chariots and men of war gathering for battle. The priests ministering by night in the sanctuary were terrified by mysterious sounds; the earth trembled, and a multitude of voices were heard crying: “Let us depart hence.” The great eastern gate, which was so heavy that it could hardly be shut by a score of men, and which was secured by immense bars of iron fastened deep in the pavement of solid stone, opened at midnight, without visible agency.—Milman, The History of the Jews, book 13.

For seven years a man continued to go up and down the streets of Jerusalem, declaring the woes that were to come upon the city. By day and by night he chanted the wild dirge: “A voice from the east! a voice from the west! a voice from the four winds! a voice against Jerusalem and against the temple! a voice against the bridegrooms and the brides! a voice against the whole people!”—Ibid. This strange being was imprisoned and scourged, but no complaint escaped his lips. To insult and abuse he answered only: “Woe, woe to Jerusalem!” “woe, woe to the inhabitants thereof!” His warning cry ceased not until he was slain in the siege he had foretold.

Not one Christian perished in the destruction of Jerusalem. Christ had given His disciples warning, and all who believed His words watched for the promised sign. “When ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies,” said Jesus, “then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. Then let them which are in Judea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out.” Luke 21:20, 21. After the Romans under Cestius had surrounded the city, they unexpectedly abandoned the siege when everything seemed favorable for an immediate attack. The besieged, despairing of successful resistance, were on the point of surrender, when the Roman general withdrew his forces without the least apparent reason. But God’s merciful providence was directing events for the good of His own people. The promised sign had been given to the waiting Christians, and now an opportunity was offered for all who would, to obey the Saviour’s warning. Events were so overruled that neither Jews nor Romans should hinder the flight of the Christians. Upon the retreat of Cestius, the Jews, sallying from Jerusalem, pursued after his retiring army; and while both forces were thus fully engaged, the Christians had an opportunity to leave the city. At this time the country also had been cleared of enemies who might have endeavored to intercept them. At the time of the siege, the Jews were assembled at Jerusalem to keep the Feast of Tabernacles, and thus the Christians throughout the land were able to make their escape unmolested. Without delay they fled to a place of safety—the city of Pella, in the land of Perea, beyond Jordan.

The Jewish forces, pursuing after Cestius and his army, fell upon their rear with such fierceness as to threaten them with total destruction. It was with great difficulty that the Romans succeeded in making their retreat. The Jews escaped almost without loss, and with their spoils returned in triumph to Jerusalem. Yet this apparent success brought them only evil. It inspired them with that spirit of stubborn resistance to the Romans which speedily brought unutterable woe upon the doomed city.

Terrible were the calamities that fell upon Jerusalem when the siege was resumed by Titus. The city was invested at the time of the Passover, when millions of Jews were assembled within its walls. Their stores of provision, which if carefully preserved would have supplied the inhabitants for years, had previously been destroyed through the jealousy and revenge of the contending factions, and now all the horrors of starvation were experienced. A measure of wheat was sold for a talent. So fierce were the pangs of hunger that men would gnaw the leather of their belts and sandals and the covering of their shields. Great numbers of the people would steal out at night to gather wild plants growing outside the city walls, though many were seized and put to death with cruel torture, and often those who returned in safety were robbed of what they had gleaned at so great peril. The most inhuman tortures were inflicted by those in power, to force from the want-stricken people the last scanty supplies which they might have concealed. And these cruelties were not infrequently practiced by men who were themselves well fed, and who were merely desirous of laying up a store of provision for the future.

Thousands perished from famine and pestilence. Natural affection seemed to have been destroyed. Husbands robbed their wives, and wives their husbands. Children would be seen snatching the food from the mouths of their aged parents. The question of the prophet, “Can a woman forget her sucking child?” received the answer within the walls of that doomed city: “The hands of the pitiful women have sodden their own children: they were their meat in the destruction of the daughter of my people.” Isaiah 49:15; Lamentations 4:10. Again was fulfilled the warning prophecy given fourteen centuries before: “The tender and delicate woman among you, which would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, and toward her son, and toward her daughter, ... and toward her children which she shall bear: for she shall eat them for want of all things secretly in the siege and straitness, wherewith thine enemy shall distress thee in thy gates.” Deuteronomy 28:56, 57.

The Roman leaders endeavored to strike terror to the Jews and thus cause them to surrender. Those prisoners who resisted when taken, were scourged, tortured, and crucified before the wall of the city. Hundreds were daily put to death in this manner, and the dreadful work continued until, along the Valley of Jehoshaphat and at Calvary, crosses were erected in so great numbers that there was scarcely room to move among them. So terribly was visited that awful imprecation uttered before the judgment seat of Pilate: “His blood be on us, and on our children.” Matthew 27:25.

Titus would willingly have put an end to the fearful scene, and thus have spared Jerusalem the full measure of her doom. He was filled with horror as he saw the bodies of the dead lying in heaps in the valleys. Like one entranced, he looked from the crest of Olivet upon the magnificent temple and gave command that not one stone of it be touched. Before attempting to gain possession of this stronghold, he made an earnest appeal to the Jewish leaders not to force him to defile the sacred place with blood. If they would come forth and fight in any other place, no Roman should violate the sanctity of the temple. Josephus himself, in a most eloquent appeal, entreated them to surrender, to save themselves, their city, and their place of worship. But his words were answered with bitter curses. Darts were hurled at him, their last human mediator, as he stood pleading with them. The Jews had rejected the entreaties of the Son of God, and now expostulation and entreaty only made them more determined to resist to the last. In vain were the efforts of Titus to save the temple; One greater than he had declared that not one stone was to be left upon another

Happy Sabbath!

12 Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the Lord that sanctify them.

13 But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my statutes, and they despised my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; and my sabbaths they greatly polluted: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them in the wilderness, to consume them.

14 But I wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be polluted before the heathen, in whose sight I brought them out.

15 Yet also I lifted up my hand unto them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands;

16 Because they despised my judgments, and walked not in my statutes, but polluted my sabbaths: for their heart went after their idols.

17 Nevertheless mine eye spared them from destroying them, neither did I make an end of them in the wilderness.

18 But I said unto their children in the wilderness, Walk ye not in the statutes of your fathers, neither observe their judgments, nor defile yourselves with their idols:

19 I am the Lord your God; walk in my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them;

20 And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the Lord your God.

21 Notwithstanding the children rebelled against me: they walked not in my statutes, neither kept my judgments to do them, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; they polluted my sabbaths: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the wilderness.

22 Nevertheless I withdrew mine hand, and wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be polluted in the sight of the heathen, in whose sight I brought them forth.

23 I lifted up mine hand unto them also in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the heathen, and disperse them through the countries;

24 Because they had not executed my judgments, but had despised my statutes, and had polluted my sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers' idols.

25 Wherefore I gave them also statutes that were not good, and judgments whereby they should not live;

26 And I polluted them in their own gifts, in that they caused to pass through the fire all that openeth the womb, that I might make them desolate, to the end that they might know that I am the Lord.

27 Therefore, son of man, speak unto the house of Israel, and say unto them, Thus saith the LordGod; Yet in this your fathers have blasphemed me, in that they have committed a trespass against me.

28 For when I had brought them into the land, for the which I lifted up mine hand to give it to them, then they saw every high hill, and all the thick trees, and they offered there their sacrifices, and there they presented the provocation of their offering: there also they made their sweet savour, and poured out there their drink offerings.

29 Then I said unto them, What is the high place whereunto ye go? And the name whereof is called Bamah unto this day.

30 Wherefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord God; Are ye polluted after the manner of your fathers? and commit ye whoredom after their abominations?

31 For when ye offer your gifts, when ye make your sons to pass through the fire, ye pollute yourselves with all your idols, even unto this day: and shall I be enquired of by you, O house of Israel? As I live, saith the Lord God, I will not be enquired of by you.

32 And that which cometh into your mind shall not be at all, that ye say, We will be as the heathen, as the families of the countries, to serve wood and stone.

33 As I live, saith the Lord God, surely with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out, will I rule over you:

34 And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out.

35 And I will bring you into the wilderness of the people, and there will I plead with you face to face.

36 Like as I pleaded with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I plead with you, saith the Lord God.

37 And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant:

38 And I will purge out from among you the rebels, and them that transgress against me: I will bring them forth out of the country where they sojourn, and they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and ye shall know that I am the Lord.

39 As for you, O house of Israel, thus saith the Lord God; Go ye, serve ye every one his idols, and hereafter also, if ye will not hearken unto me: but pollute ye my holy name no more with your gifts, and with your idols.

40 For in mine holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel, saith the Lord God, there shall all the house of Israel, all of them in the land, serve me: there will I accept them, and there will I require your offerings, and the firstfruits of your oblations, with all your holy things.

41 I will accept you with your sweet savour, when I bring you out from the people, and gather you out of the countries wherein ye have been scattered; and I will be sanctified in you before the heathen.

42 And ye shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall bring you into the land of Israel, into the country for the which I lifted up mine hand to give it to your fathers.

43 And there shall ye remember your ways, and all your doings, wherein ye have been defiled; and ye shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for all your evils that ye have committed.

44 And ye shall know that I am the Lord when I have wrought with you for my name's sake, not according to your wicked ways, nor according to your corrupt doings, O ye house of Israel, saith the Lord God.

45 Moreover the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

46 Son of man, set thy face toward the south, and drop thy word toward the south, and prophesy against the forest of the south field;

47 And say to the forest of the south, Hear the word of the Lord; Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will kindle a fire in thee, and it shall devour every green tree in thee, and every dry tree: the flaming flame shall not be quenched, and all faces from the south to the north shall be burned therein.

48 And all flesh shall see that I the Lord have kindled it: it shall not be quenched.

49 Then said I, Ah Lord God! they say of me, Doth he not speak parables?

How 'Sexual Liberty' Devours Real Liberty

By Lee Duigon
April 25, 2013
NewsWithViews.com

Whenever there is a conflict between “sexual liberty” and religious freedom, “I’m having a hard time coming up with any cases in which religious liberty should win.”

So spoke Chai Feldblum, Georgetown law professor and now a member of the Obama administration, a commissioner of the EEOC. We understand her to mean that “sexual liberty,” or the freedom to fornicate, must always trump the free exercise of religion.

Case in point, and only one of many: the attorney general of the state of Washington has vowed to fine a florist $2,000 a day because she committed the crime of refusing to decorate a homosexual mock marriage event. She, with her little one-shop business, is an enemy of the people. She must be crushed. And just to make sure she gets the message, the ACLU is suing her, too. To stop her from being a bully, I guess.

Mind you, this is happening before the Supreme Court discovers a “right to gay marriage” cleverly concealed within the Constitution. Already the explicitly-stated First Amendment right to the free exercise of religion has been made to bow to a “sexual liberty” mentioned nowhere in the document. Maybe James Madison hid it under the coffee table.

If they come roaring after religious liberty like this before the Supremes enthrone “gay marriage,” what will life in America be like afterward?

Oh! But we can just all get along, can’t we?

The homosexual movement is insatiable and unappeasable. Like a fire, it won’t stop after consuming half the log. It’ll go on and on until either someone puts it out or all its fuel is consumed and there’s nothing left to burn.

Here is what we must expect.

The free exercise of the Christian religion will give way to the forced exercise of the secular humanist religion.

The federal government will force churches to perform same-sex “marriage” exercises. Pastors and priests will be punished if they speak against it.

All public schools—in case there are still a few that aren’t already doing it—will teach the normalization, acceptance, and celebration of homosexuality. As is already being done, children will be encouraged to try all sorts of sexual practices. Parents will not be allowed to opt their children out of these programs, and soon will be stripped of their right to determine the nature of their own children’s education. The religious schools will cease to be a refuge; and how long do you think Christian homeschooling will be allowed?

No one will be permitted to say or publish anything adverse to homosexuality (this is already the case in Britain and Canada). Our other First Amendment freedoms—of speech, of the press (presuming, perhaps wrongly, there’s still anyone among the press who might wish to exercise this freedom), and of association—will all be subordinated to “sexual liberty.” The fire will consume them all.

If that’s what we should expect, what ought we to do?

“As for me and my house,” said Joshua, “we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15)

They can’t jail all the Christians in America. But even if they could, it wouldn’t let us out of our duty to stay faithful to our Lord and His commandments.

Refuse, refuse—refuse outright to obey wicked officials in thrall to Big Sodomy. If your churches surrender, as some have done already, they aren’t churches anymore. Leave them to their apostasy and form house churches, as the Christians do in China.

Never, never speak of a same-sex coupling as “marriage.” It is no marriage, and will never be.

The hard part will be to decide what to do when they come for your children. But is it so much easier just to sit and suck it up when the “gender coach” comes to your first-grader’s classroom to teach the kiddies that “you can be a boy one day and a girl the next, depending on how you feel”? Is it so much easier to allow your kids to be recruited to march in a “Trans Pride Parade”?

The longer we wait to re-assert our God-given liberties—as opposed to newfangled bogus liberties made up by a lot of academic pinheads in their never-ending quest for a Garden of Eden run by themselves instead of God—the harder it’ll be to get them back at all. We won’t get them back for the asking. “Gee, Mr. Gay Activist Judge, I really miss my religious freedom. Do you think I might have it back, sometime soon? And maybe a little bit of freedom of speech to go with it?”

Don’t hold your breath waiting for them to say yes.

Revelation 14 tells of three important messages to the world. John’s vision here is not symbolic of three literal angels who will come and proclaim these messages to the world. Rather, it refers to God’s people—His ambassadors—who proclaim these truths.

The Three Angels’ Messages are the final messages of warning to the world. These messages ensure that everyone has had a chance to choose between the Kingdom of God and the kingdom of Earth—Satan's kingdom. When the messages have reached everyone, the time of probation will close and Christ will return to free His people.

The great war between Christ and Satan reaches its climax as these messages are preached, and the people of the world will be split into two groups: the followers of Christ and the followers of Satan. The contest will be fierce and there will be a time of the worst trouble to ever happen (Daniel 12:1).

Throughout the book of Revelation, the two great camps are contrasted. Satan tries his best to counterfeit the plan of salvation, in order to deceive God’s chosen people (Matthew 24:24). Revelation tells of a Beast power, which we see to be Roman Catholicism, that Satan uses to counterfeit the ministry of Christ. He even sets up afalse trinity to lead the world astray.

Only the true Prince of this world, Jesus Christ, can save us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness:

And from Jesus Christ who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood (Revelation 1:5).

When Christ returns, the false prince—Satan—will be judged and cast out (John 16:11).

The battle and stark differences between the two sides is a theme in the book of Revelation.

Learn more about the Three Angels’ Messages that will be preached in the end times:

The First Angel's Message
The First Angel's Message calls us to worship our Creator God and recognize the hour of judgment.

The Second Angel's Message
The Second Angel tells us the fate of Babylon.

The Third Angel's Message
The Third Angel's Message calls us to keep the commandments of God and reject the mark of the Beast.

Revelation 10 and the Three Angels’ Messages
The prophecies of Revelation 10 and Revelation 14, when read together, have potent messages for the end-time Church.

Who is the Remnant?
Revelation 12:17 tells us that the remnant would "keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ." Who is the remnant?

The Elijah to Come
Matthew 17:11 says that "Elijah comes and restores all things." Who is this Elijah?

Rejection of Christ, Rejection of the law of God

Jesus, looking down to the last generation, saw the world involved in a deception similar to that which caused the destruction of Jerusalem. The great sin of the Jews was their rejection of Christ; the great sin of the Christian world would be their rejection of the law of God, the foundation of His government in heaven and earth. The precepts of Jehovah would be despised and set at nought. Millions in bondage to sin, slaves of Satan, doomed to suffer the second death, would refuse to listen to the words of truth in their day of visitation. Terrible blindness! strange infatuation!
Two days before the Passover, when Christ had for the last time departed from the temple, after denouncing the hypocrisy of the Jewish rulers, He again went out with His disciples to the Mount of Olives and seated Himself with them upon the grassy slope overlooking the city. Once more He gazed upon its walls, its towers, and its palaces. Once more He beheld the temple in its dazzling splendor, a diadem of beauty crowning the sacred mount.

Do Lawyers and Cuban-Americans represent the spectrum of the American citizenry?

Can these men's religion, professions or their ethnicity give them a better understanding of Immigration Issues?

BTW: Cubans are mainly refugees (have been so since the Cuban Revolution in 1959), not immigrants per se.

Why are these men The Gang of Eight?

Why are they so willing to legislate Immigration Reform for 11 million Illegal Aliens at a time of ECONOMIC RECESSION, Medicare and Social Security cut-backs?

Bloomberg’s Constitution

Editorial of The New York Sun | April 23, 2013

“The people who are worried about privacy have a legitimate worry. But we live in a complex world where you’re going to have to have a level of security greater than you did back in the olden days, if you will. And our laws and our interpretation of the Constitution, I think, have to change.” That is the latest from Mayor Bloomberg in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombing. He is quoted in Politicker.com by the New York Observer’s Jill Colvin, in a dispatch that gives, en passant, a glimpse of the mayor’s inchoate view of the American parchment.

On the one hand, His Honor warns that we live in a “very dangerous world” in which “there are people who want to take away our freedoms.” So, he says, “we’re going to have more cameras and that kind of stuff.” He goes on to call that “good in some sense” but “different from what we are used to.” On the other hand, Ms. Colvin quotes him as pointing to the gun debate and noting that the courts have allowed for what she paraphrases the mayor as calling increasingly stringent regulations in response to ever-more powerful weapons.

Well, we suppose that’s one way of looking at what the Supreme Court has said. Another way of looking at is that the Supreme Court has said that while some regulation of guns may be permitted, the government is prohibited from going too far. The Court, in District of Columbia v. Heller, has noted that some think that the Second Amendment is “outmoded in a society where our standing army is the pride of our Nation, where well-trained police forces provide personal security, and where gun violence is a serious problem.”

The Court called that “perhaps debatable.” But, the Court continued, “what it is not debatable is that it is not the role of this Court to pronounce the Second Amendment extinct.” Yet extinct is precisely what the Second Amendment has become in Mayor Bloomberg’s New York, where, we have quipped, Mother Teresa couldn’t get a permit to carry even a small-caliber pistol. Nor could even the most law-abiding and well-trained citizen. So what are New Yorkers, or anyone else, to make of the blithe assurances from the mayor in respect of the Constitution.

On the one hand, he is quoted by Ms. Colvin as suggesting we’re going to “have to live” with what he calls “reasonable levels of security.” The word “reasonable” echoes the Fourth Amendment, which vouchsafes the of Americans to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against “unreasonable” searches and seizures. At the moment, the Bloomberg administration is in federal court fighting for the right to stop and frisk New Yorkers whom police officers suspect might be up to no good. Seems reasonable to us.

On the other hand, the mayor is being quoted by Ms. Colvin as pointing to the use of magnetometers to catch weapons in city schools. In other words, he is for searching pupils and adult visitors whether or not they are suspected of being up to no good. That, too, may turn out to be reasonable. “It really says something bad about us that we have to do it,” Politicer.com quotes the mayor as saying. “But our obligation first and foremost is to keep our kids safe in the schools; first and foremost, to keep you safe if you go to a sporting event.:

It seems that the obligation the mayor puts “first and foremost” is “to keep you safe if you walk down the streets or go into our parks.” From there it’s but hop-skip-and-a-jump to keeping you safe when you order a soda pop along with the French fries you’re going to wash down with it. This week the mayor has changed his mind and decided it also involves prohibiting persons under the age of 21 from purchasing a pack of cigarettes — not even smoking them, simply purchasing them, even if for, say, a parent.

This is the context in which New Yorkers roll their eyes when the mayor is quoted, as he is by Ms. Colvin, as saying: “What we can’t do is let the protection get in the way of us enjoying our freedoms.” Here is His Honor’s chutzpah: “You still want to let people practice their religion, no matter what that religion is.” He neglects to mention, say, that he’s in court trying to protect his power to regulate the way religious Jews conduct the ritual of circumcision. At the end of the day the mayor’s lectures on our national parchment suggest a public figure who views the Constitution as a convenience of the Nanny State.

House Votes To Legitimize More Government Computer Snooping

April 24, 2013 by Bob Livingston

PHOTOS.COM

No amount of online spying is too much, said the criminal elected class in the House of Representatives, as it passed the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and (non)Protection Act (CISPA) yesterday over hollow veto threats by the Administration of President Barack Obama.

The bill will give the government access to online data — including financial data — from private computer networks. A proposal that would have prohibited the military from collecting data directly from industry was blocked from floor debates by Republicans. A compromise measure was passed that ensures companies must first go through the Department of Homeland Security before turning information over the military.

Privacy groups object to the bill because they said it would give the National Security Agency “a front-row seat in analyzing data from private computer networks.” The Associated Press reports that the bill doesn’t address NSA specifically, but “it’s presumed that the military intelligence agency would have a central role in the data-sharing because of its technical expertise in tracking foreign-based hackers.”

Senator Jay Rockefeller (D-W.Va.), who once lamented that the Internet had been created and longed to return to the days of pencil and paper, will take the lead in pushing CISPA through the Senate.

The proposal that puts DHS in charge of disseminating the information between corporations and the military was supposed to be comforting. But considering the DHS’s record regarding electronic privacy, it’s no comfort at all. Recall that for years DHS claimed the naked body scans taken by backscatter radiation emitters at airports were not stored, and the machines were not capable of storing images. Finally, after lawsuits filed by the Electronic Privacy Information Center made their way through the courts, it was revealed that DHS did indeed store the images and that Transportation Security Administration agents used them for all sorts of nefarious purposes.

The Administration’s veto threats ring hollow because it has yet to find a liberty-reducing law it could oppose (see the National Defense Authorization Act). But we should be thankful, because our safety is of foremost concern among the criminal elected class.

Obama: If daughters get tattoos, we will too

Posted by Rachel Weiner on April 24, 2013 at 8:59 am

On the “Today” show Wednesday morning, President Obama explained how he and first lady Michelle Obama plan to keep their daughters from getting tattoos.

Visit NBCNews.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

“What we’ve said to the girls is, ‘If you guys ever decided you’re going to get a tattoo, then mommy and me will get the exact same tattoo in the same place. And we’ll go on YouTube and show it off as a family tattoo,” Obama said. “And our thinking is that might dissuade them from thinking that somehow that’s a good way to rebel.”

Obama also discussed a recent interview in which his wife accidentally described herself as a single mom.

“You know, as somebody who has stumbled over my lines many times, I tend to cut my wife or anybody some slack when it comes to just a slip to the tongue,” the president said. “But there’s no doubt that there’ve been times where Michelle probably felt like a single mom.”

If you have any ideas for an Obama family tattoo — maybe one of these? — you can leave it in the comments.

The Greatest Conspiracy in History

Posted on November 13th, by admin in Archives

Few could ever imagine the idea but the Bible says the destiny of those living at the close of earth’s history will decide their fate based on choosing to worship the Creator of all living things or going along with the laws of mankind for the peace of mankind. There will only be two sides to this issue.

Interestingly enough, in and around the year 1888 there was a bill presented to the congress of the United States (second beast of Revelation 13) to enforce or honor the first day of the week. This was known as the ‘Blair Bill’. This was the type of what Jesus referred to as ‘when you see the armies encompassing’… know that it is near. This was the antitype of the first siege and a warning to all watching to flee and prepare for the crisis. Few listened.

Now in 2011, it is that same group who are picking up the pace to get this Lord’s day agenda pushed into congress. Based in Atlanta, Georgia the Lord’s Day Alliance is built to restore society’s view of the first day of the week or what they call ‘the Sabbath’. I want to quote from their most recent journal:

from the section:

Summary of Implications
for Sabbath observance today- LINK TO FULL MAGAZINE

The importance of Deuteronomy is that it makes clear that the law was never intended to be a mechani- cal list of inflexible rules. Rather, it provides entry into the whole matter of true piety and true morality. It pro- mulgates a worldview encompassing what is entailed in an appropriate approach to God and what is entailed in an appropriate treatment of and relationship to one’s neighbor. It is easy to see why Jesus endorsed the sum- mary of the law offered by the Jewish lawyer: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind,’ and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’ ” (Luke 10:27).

Sabbath observance plays a significant role in this endeavor. If we have to be reminded, commanded, or coerced to observe it, it ceases to serve its function.

Interestingly enough this sounds correct yet it is not their true agenda. What was then known as the ‘American Sabbath Union’ is now known as the Lord’s Day Alliance.

Another thing that really threw me off was how the article quoted the president of the Seventh-day Adventist Seminary Neils-Erik Andreasen. Interesting.

Why is this happening?

Because Lucifer was kicked out of heaven because he declared that God’s Law was arbitrary and not needing to be kept for true peace. The truth is that the last great conspiracy to come on the world will be Lucifer demanding a day of worship honoring him rather than the Creator on His Seventh-day Sabbath. You can be a Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim and keep the other 9 commandments in essence but not the 4th.

The following is from my friend that shared this all with me:

So the Sunday Alliance which is the same group behind the Blair bill in 1888, first time a national Sunday Laws was attempted (first siege) is getting ready to mount the second siege of Jerusalem (this is in prophecy ask me if study needed). The quote from their website makes the timing clear and we know prophetically this will happen. Interestingly the same group that led the charge the last time is mounting the charge again. Time is short.

“Today, The Lord’s Day Alliance stands on the edge of a great opportunity to proclaim the message of the Sabbath (SUNDAY), a message of spiritual renewal and personal well being, in this fast-paced 24/7, 21st century American culture.”

Here are some recent quotes from the Roman Catholic Church:

“Sunday is an obligation for all the faithful which brings authentic freedom enabling them to live each day, that it is the Lord’s day, that it is a day to be sanctified, and those who do not keep it suffer the loss of an authentic sense of Christian freedom and the loss of being the children of God, that Sunday is the primordial holy day and is meant to be kept holy, a day of rest from work, which hopefully will also be recognized by civil society by law.”(Sacramentum Caritatis: Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation on the Eucharist as the Source and Summit of the Church’s Life and Mission, Given by Pope Benedict XVI in Rome, at Saint Peter’s, February 22, 2007, the Feast of the Chair of Peter.)

“Without the Lord’s day, we cannot live, that meeting with the Lord only occurs on the specific day of Sunday, that life does not flourish without Sunday, and that Sunday is a day of rest, of freedom and equality for all the world.”(Eucharistic Celebration Homily of Pope Benedict XVI , Saint Stephen’s Cathedral, Vienna, Sunday, September 9, 2007.)

“Encouraged America to exercise its leadership within the international community based on the common moral law [Sunday holiness].”(Address of Pope Benedict XVI to H.E. Mrs. Mary Ann Glendon, New Ambassador of the United States of America to the Holy See, Friday, February 29, 2008.)

“The world has greater need of hope for peace, justice and freedom, which can never be delivered without obedience to the law of God [Sunday holiness].”(Video-Message of the Pope Benedict XVI to Catholics and People of the United States of America on the Occasion of the Upcoming Apostolic Journey, April 15-21, 2008.)

The last thing to add to the pertinence of the moment is the recent call of the Vatican to establish a global political authority that could oversee a new global monetary system.

A Harbinger of Approaching Danger

We as a people have not accomplished the work which God has committed to us. We are not ready for the issue to which the enforcement of the Sunday law will bring us. It is our duty, as we see the signs of approaching peril, to arouse to action. Let none sit in calm expectation of the evil, comforting themselves with the belief that this work must go on because prophecy has foretold it, and that the Lord will shelter His people. We are not doing the will of God if we sit in quietude, doing nothing to preserve liberty of conscience. Fervent, effectual prayer should be ascending to heaven that this calamity may be deferred until we can accomplish the work which has so long been neglected. Let there be most earnest prayer, and then let us work in harmony with our prayers. It may appear that Satan is triumphant and that truth is overborne with falsehood and error; the people over whom God has spread His shield, and the country which has been an asylum for the conscience-oppressed servants of God and defenders of His truth, may be placed in jeopardy. But God would have us recall His dealings with His people in the past to save them from their enemies. He has always chosen extremities, when there seemed no possible chance for deliverance from Satan's workings, for the manifestation of His power. Man's necessity is God's opportunity. It may be that a respite may yet be granted for God's people to awake and let their light shine. If the presence of ten righteous persons would have saved the wicked cities of the plain, is it not possible that God will yet, in answer to the prayers of His people, hold in check the workings of those who are making void His law? Shall we not humble our hearts greatly before God, flee to the mercy seat, and plead with Him to reveal His mighty power?

Mourn For America: Whenever A Tragedy Happens They Take Even More Freedom From Us

By Michael, on April 21st, 2013

What in the world is happening to America? Over the past couple of decades, the federal government has used just about every major national tragedy as an excuse to take even more liberty and freedom away from us. And without a doubt, the Boston Marathon bombing was a great national tragedy. I don't think that any of us will forget the images that we have seen over the past week. All of those responsible for this attack should be exposed, hunted down, tried and punished. Unfortunately, what always seems to happen is that it is the American people that seem to get punished the most for these tragedies. Over the past couple of decades we have been told again and again that if we will just give up a little bit more freedom that the authorities will be able to keep us safe. But you know what? It is IMPOSSIBLE for them to keep us safe. There is no way in the world that the federal government can protect us from all of the bad guys in the world. We are a country that is absolutely teeming with "soft targets" - malls, churches, schools, concerts, sporting events, etc. No matter how much money we spend, there is no way that the federal government will ever be able to provide enough security for all of those soft targets. Even if our society morphed into something that resembled George Orwell's "1984", the government would still never be able to guarantee our safety. Unfortunately, in the aftermath of this attack there will inevitably be calls for "increased security" and "more anti-terror legislation". The answer always seems to be to expand the emerging police state. But it is getting to the point where all of this "security" is becoming absolutely suffocating, and yet it doesn't seem to be keeping us any safer. So where does all of this end? Are we going to completely throw out the entire U.S. Constitution in a desperate attempt to feel a little bit safer? Or are we going to choose to live our lives without fear no matter what others may try to do to us? (Read More....)

Shortly after the tweet was sent out, the AP informed its wire subscribers that its Twitter account "has been hacked. The tweet about an attack at the White House is false. We will advise more as soon as possible."
