(CNN) -- An Asiana Airlines' Boeing 777 crashed Saturday upon landing at San Francisco International Airport, sending up a huge fireball and spinning before finally coming to a stop -- having lost its tail and, eventually, much of its charred roof.

Flight 214 left Seoul's Incheon International Airport earlier Saturday and flew 10 hours and 23 minutes to California, according to FlightAware, a website that offers tracking services for private and commercial air traffic.

These interviews from 2010 with two journalists in Argentina yield cute facts about the new boss of the church — a favorite movie? “Babette’s Feast” — but not much interesting theology.

But one passage in the book, at first glance rather slight, ends up insinuating a radical note into the proceedings. On a close read, it seems that Pope Francis believes that we must — indeed, that God is calling us to — relax.

Responding to the question, “Do we need to rediscover the meaning of leisure?” Pope Francis replies: “Together with a culture of work, there must be a culture of leisure as gratification. To put it another way: people who work must take the time to relax, to be with their families, to enjoy themselves, read, listen to music, play a sport. But this is being destroyed, in large part, by the elimination of the Sabbath rest day. More and more people work on Sundays as a consequence of the competitiveness imposed by a consumer society.” In such cases, he concludes, “work ends up dehumanizing people.”

Some pages later, he derides people who think of themselves as Catholic but don’t make time for their children. This is an example, according to Pope Francis, of living “with fraud.”

Catholic social teaching is known for promoting the idea that workers deserve dignity, which includes rest. But Pope Francis seems to be saying something more: that an authentically Christian life includes a proper dose of leisure and family time. That may sound unusual coming from a man whose tradition valorizes solitude and monasticism, and whose clergy members are not permitted to take spouses or beget children.

The idea of a Catholic exalting the Sabbath sounds particularly peculiar in the American context. In the United States, Catholics were never the great proponents of Sabbatarianism, observing Sunday as a special day, for worship or rest. That was a Protestant thing.

From the moment the Puritans arrived, they began enforcing laws to reserve Sunday for churchgoing. Over time, what came to be called “blue laws” covered different activities, and varied by state. Some laws forbade hunting on Sunday, others the sale of liquor, others any commercial activity. In religious towns, cultural norms made some recreation, like sports, taboo as well. As a child being raised in a Pentecostal family, John Ashcroft, the former attorney general, wasn’t allowed to ride a bicycle on Sundays.

Over time, the official justification for the laws had changed, but it was still Protestants who pushed for them. “In the 1820s, they would say this is a time to pause to reflect on our religious obligations to God,” said David Sehat, a historian at Georgia State University. But by the 1870s, “they started using Pope Francis’ justification: a time to spend time with family, for ‘the preservation of health and the promotion of good morals,’ ” to use one jurist’s language.

And the temperance movement, which of course supported laws against Sunday liquor sales, was Protestant in character. Activists often depicted Catholic immigrants as drunkards.

Today, the laws are disappearing, relics of a time when Protestant culture was more dominant. Connecticut, for example, finally decided to permit Sunday liquor sales last year.
And in the United States, Sunday has lost its sacred character. Most Christians see little conflict in going to church in the morning, then watching a football game — maybe with the family, or maybe at a sports bar — in the afternoon.

The Sabbatarian tradition is upheld, in a serious way, by some small groups of religious Protestants and, of course, by observant Jews. And, it so happens, by those who think of themselves as both Christian and Jewish. “Messianic Jews,” who believe in the divinity of Jesus but pay special attention to the Jewish roots of Christianity, are often very attached to Sabbath observance.

Sarah Posner, a staff writer for the ReligionDispatches.org Web site, recalled a conference of messianic Jews she attended last year in Ellicott City, Md. “They weren’t selling their books, CDs and DVDs on Saturday, because they didn’t want to exchange money,” Ms. Posner said. “But they were using electricity” — which traditionally observant Jews would not.

Our religiously diverse country includes those who call their weekly day off from smartphones a “secular Sabbath.” Some groups may not even have a concept of Sabbatarianism. In Islam, for example, “there’s a deep theological objection to the idea that God rested on the seventh day,” according to Marion Holmes Katz, a scholar of Islam at New York University. “The idea of God resting seems to imply God being tired. So the whole idea that you refrain from work as some sort of ritualized recapitulation or symbolic nod to the process of creation — it’s not one that has any traction in Islam.”

But in Catholicism, as
Pope Francis suggests, the Sabbath actually is supposed to matter — the whole day, not just Mass. For as the catechism teaches, in Paragraph 2185, “On Sundays and other holy days of obligation, the faithful are to refrain from engaging in work or activities that hinder the worship owed to God, the joy proper to the Lord’s Day, the performance of the works of mercy, and the appropriate relaxation of mind and body.”

The Catholic Church has been recovering this teaching at least since 1998, when Pope John Paul II published his apostolic letter “Dies Domini.” There, he writes that “even in those countries which give legal sanction to the festive character of Sunday, changes in socioeconomic conditions have often led to profound modifications of social behavior and hence of the character of Sunday.”

Last October, about 250 bishops met in Rome for a conference on the movement called the New Evangelization, which focuses on reawakening faith in those already baptized. One of their conclusions was, “Even though there is a tension between the Christian Sunday and the secular Sunday, Sunday needs to be recovered” — in keeping, they wrote, with John Paul’s “Dies Domini.”

Of course, those who preach a relaxing Sabbath, with friends and family, are often working hardest on the day they exalt. For clergy members, the Sabbath is the busiest workday of the week. One charm of the book “Pope Francis” is how much we learn about the new pope’s pastimes, like reading the German Romantic poet Friedrich Hölderlin and listening to Verdi’s operas.
One imagines that now, more than ever, Sunday is not his day for leisure reading, nor a good time to catch a showing of “Babette’s Feast.”

SHOULD WE MOVE OUT OF THE CITIES?



We have at times made the statement before that there are some things we are supposed to be doing, but we are not, and that this neglect is going to cause us more trouble and perplexity than we can imagine. What are we supposed to be doing? Well one part has already been revealed. We are actually supposed to be doing three basic things. Here is the SUM-TOTAL of what must be done aside from everything else that we are normally expected to do.


1. We must tell the world about the Jesuit infiltration.

We HAVE to do this! In the process, we must not be too elaborate, going into many deep studies or controversial themes. Those who can show what is going on with the least technicality, and can reveal the signs of what is happening around us by alerting the people to strange things taking place that they can see and confirm for themselves every day will be the most successful. This MUST be done in conjunction with Net 98, 99, etc. It must be shown that much more has been done than any change of the Sabbath by Rome. We have to do this because it will explain calamities that will suddenly hit, and from which no logical explanation will be found in the near future except against Seventh-day Adventists and their message. If this is not done, all that will be left will be circumstantial evidence pointing to Adventists as the cause of these calamities.

2. Fight against the concept of DIVERSITY which has brought in all the confusion. Explain what is the true meaning of, "DIVERSITY is the secret of OUR strength!" Explain why debating was a prerequisite for the destruction of our society. Show that the bible does not support this and raise up inquiry why our national and religious leaders called for this. This is a major secret to the destruction and transformation of our society.

3. WE MUST PREPARE TO MOVE OUT OF THE CITIES, OR AWAY FROM PLACES WHERE THERE IS HEAVY POPULATION. In other words, WE MUST PREPARE FOR A CRISIS, and we must do this VISIBLY so that others can see.

That is the sum-total of what we are trying to show. Beyond this and aside from what you normally do, there is nothing else. There is no new doctrine. There is nothing that you have to join or remove your membership from, or anything of the like. You should prevent people from tinkering to change your church structure-especially those who pretended that they were too timid to deal with controversial issues in the church, but that is automatically assumed.

Yet the issue at hand must be dealt with. We are supposed to prepare dwellings outside the cities for ourselves. This is not supposed to be done covertly nor rashly. We are supposed to do it with MUCH NOISE. We are to do it with urgency, BUT NOT WITH PANIC. We are supposed to do it orderly, with a measure of patience, actually mirroring Noah as he constructed the ark. It was said that Noah invested all that he had in building the ark. Every blow struck upon the ark by Noah and those who helped him was a witness to the people. They saw that what Noah and his helpers were doing was no frivolous project. It made the people to know and understand quite visually that something cataclysmic was about to happen. We are supposed to do what we are able to do, and we are to do it in such a way that our neighbors see us and understand what we are doing and why. We are supposed to do it in such a way where it is portrayed as actually what it is: FUN!! THIS IS A MISSION OF LOVE!!

But there is a great deal of argument about this very topic, about the third point. Many tell us that we should not move out of the cities. They portray some seemingly good reasons for staying also. They tell us that we are supposed to stay here, but we are to make sure that our hearts are not here. They tell us that we have much work to do in the cities. That is a true statement. They tell us that just so long as our hearts are right with Christ, there is no need to do any or all of these things.

Part of what we are trying to show is that great trouble and distress is coming. We are trying to show that it does not matter how holy or close to Christ you are. The situation that is coming is going to make you wish you were never born, because the circumstances will come in an angle you most probably had not anticipated. Why say that you just have to be right with Christ? You think that you will merely be filled with peace while these things will be taking place? Historically that has happened where Christians rode the waves of terror around them with a peace shining forth! THAT WILL NOT HAPPEN THIS TIME when the real brunt of the calamities hit! You think that persecution and death is the main or only issue and that is all we are concerned about? You do not understand! It doesn't matter how holy you are or how close to Christ you are! The distress that is coming upon you can be depicted as the Titanic resting upon your little heart the size of a man's fist! We do not believe that we are exaggerating either! It is not a matter of mere death and persecution. Death and persecution will be welcomed in comparison to the distress that is coming. NO ONE WILL ESCAPE THIS DISTRESS NO MATTER HOW HOLY YOU ARE! It is yet not all bad news! Some good times and great moments of victory will come. If you understand what is coming and take action, you will minimize the effects and possibly make the difference for yourselves between mere distress and eternal despair! Much sorrow will be spared you if you understand and move!

The arguments against leaving do have some weight, don't they? Yet even for the very reasons stated about the necessity of doing work in the cities and all, by refusing to undergo the process of moving out, we are doing harm that we scarcely realize. In time, those who do not make motions to leave will ultimately view that they have committed a great crime against humanity.

Some time in late 1999 while we were at work, we met up with a lady who brought up the subject of Y2K and what she plans to do about it. What we are telling you is no lie. Why did she bring it up? She told us that one day recently this year as she was walking down one of the streets of her city where she lived, she stumbled upon a synagogue. She began to explain to us that she went inside the synagogue. She said that she could not understand why she did that. She felt as if the Lord actually guided her in there. Some Jews inside saw her, but did not stop her. She then, as if guided, stumbled upon a door on the inside, and opened it. She then laid out a yell of surprise.

The yell that she gave out alerted a rabbi who was near by. He confronted the woman and asked her what she was doing there. What the lady saw was canned and other goods of food and supplies stocked high up in that room. She humbly apologized and told the rabbi that she could not understand how she just wandered in there. She then quickly interrupted the thought and got to the question at hand. She asked, "Why do you have all this stocked up in here." The rabbi then pulled her to the side and began to speak. She told me that he told her to the tenor of:

"We are stocking up on food because we know that the government is going to betray the people. Soon great trouble will be everywhere."

The rabbi therefore continued:

"When you go to the supermarket, make sure that when you buy one bottle of water, buy two. Use one bottle to drink and use the other bottle to store up for yourself."

Understand that MANY are catching the WAVE! It was predominantly Adventists who were supposed to report these things to the people. Instead of that, other Christians and even some who are not, are either warning the people of what is going on, or are physically preparing for themselves. Their warnings are not reaching everyone by far!

Beyond that, the lady told me that the rabbi told her that they had been alerted to do these things, because God's children (the Jews) are special, and have been given special information. The lady told me that since that day, she has been preparing to stock up on food and she told me that she is going to acquire a gun and ammunition in order to protect her babies when the time comes. The lady has children, and her highest ambition is to make sure that they are safe and well fed during times of emergency.

We quickly told her that both she and the rabbi are making a terrible mistake. We have to say it plainly:

ANYONE WHO ENDEAVORS TO MERELY STOCK UP ON FOOD OR SUPPLIES WHILE REMAINING IN PLACES OF POPULATION WILL FACE THE MUSIC!! They will probably face the music MORESO THAN THOSE WHO DID NOT STOCK UP!!

When we told her that, she gave me her phone number determined to know what we knew. She is telling me that we MUST tell her what we know about this. She then stated again, "I have to do whatever it takes to protect my babies!"

What we are telling you is not a matter of debate. The statement we had made about those who endeavor to stock up and remain in centers of population is commonsense truth and fact! This statement is confirmed through prophecy, history, sociology, a knowledge of current events, and even military and law-enforcement knowledge. If you stock up and stay in the great centers of population, you will face the music moreso than those who do not! And the reason why we make this catastrophic statement can be acquired through the subject header of this email: CONTAINMENT! There will be containment. This is confirmed not only through prophecy, but through what courageous military and law enforcement officials are even revealing to us now underground!

Most every prophecy that relates to the terrors of the end time gives us not the slightest picture that we are supposed to stay in populated places or in places where the judgments of God are about to fall.


Matthew 24: 37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.


Luke 18: 27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;

29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.

30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.


In both cases we see and notice that all who chose to remain where the judgments were to fall, perished themselves. In the example of Lot, we realize that they HAD to actually leave the city of Sodom. If there was no necessity for this, the Lord would not have told them. If the Lord doesn't say anything, then we can stay realizing that God will work miracles in our behalf and make us even float in the air above all the trouble if He has to. If He tells us to prepare and to leave, then we must not expect that we can stay and that we would be protected. Yet we can see through these scriptures that they are telling us that the conditions that existed back then will be repeated just before the Lord returns.

Yet the prime example used to illustrate what is about to take place, and which speaks to us is Matthew 24. In that chapter it says:


Matt. 24: 15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:

18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.

19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!

20 But pray ye that your FLIGHT be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:

21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.


Look closely at the advice given. It tells all to FLEE OUT! Nowhere is anyone given the comfort or assurance that they are to stay within. It tells us to pray that our FLIGHT shall not be in the Winter, neither upon the Sabbath day. This is not talking about a commercial round trip flight to Hawaii. It is talking about a crucial exodus in order to save lives, especially YOUR OWN!

This prophecy was most specifically referring to the destruction of Jerusalem which took place some forty years after Jesus spoke. Yet Ellen White, in conjunction with MANY theologians and commentators have correctly predicted that these words also refer to our day.

The first chapter of The Great Controversy, by Ellen White expounds upon Matthew 24 where Jesus prophesies the destruction of Jerusalem. That crucial chapter is pointed out as also referring to what will take place globally in the near future. It is an immense chapter that goes graphically into details in order to, in a conservative way, explain what will happen to most of our neighbors and friends, and maybe even ourselves if we do not heed what has been revealed to us. That chapter starts out by saying:

"If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes. For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side, and shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation." Luke 19:42-44. - GC pg. 17.

Already the chapter starts dealing with what we are talking about: CONTAINMENT. It states that our enemies will "compass thee round" or surround us. It also tells us that we do not realize the time when these things will take place.

From this statement to page 23, Ellen White deals with the condition of the Jewish people and why judgments were about to fall upon them. She deals with the fact that although great trouble was pronounced upon them, there was nothing they saw taking place around them which revealed this. They even believed that God would always protect them. They didn't see any sign of danger.

On page 18 it shows that while the Jews were waving palm branches before Jesus and crying Hosannas before Him as they anticipated making Him king, instead of receiving these praises, Jesus suddenly broke down in tears and terrible agony. It is described that this happened because Christ saw the future. On page 21 was shown that He, while in tears, saw the soldiers and people taking the city apart as partly described by the direct statement:


"From the ridge of Olivet, the very spot afterward occupied by Titus and his army, He looked across the valley upon the sacred courts and porticoes, and with tear-dimmed eyes He saw, in awful perspective, the walls surrounded by alien hosts. He heard the tread of armies marshaling for war. He heard the voice of mothers and children crying for bread in the besieged city. He saw her holy and beautiful house, her palaces and towers, given to the flames, and where once they stood, only a heap of smoldering ruins."

Here now we constantly see the words, "surrounded," "beseiged" and all. This relates heavily upon the question as to whether or not we are supposed to stay or live in the cities. Should we live or stay in the cities and then even think to stock up on food? Will stocking up on food or supplies while living in the city help us? The answer is no!

We have read that crucial first chapter of The Great Controversy and understood how it expounded upon Matthew 24. That chapter revealed the starvation that resulted from the siege. No one was allowed either to go in or come out of the city. The supplies that were inside were destroyed. The narration showed how even mothers and fathers cooked and ate their own children to survive, and how children would steal food which belonged to their aging parents. It stated that the pangs of hunger were so fierce that men would gnaw the leather of their belts. It showed how they fought each other in order to steal what they had.

It was thence remarkable that we received information from patriotic people who were and are involved in the military and law enforcement that expounded on what was going on today behind the scenes through the workings of treacherous people. The military is also heavily infiltrated. Law enforcement is infiltrated. In their literature they did everything they could to reveal the seriousness of the situation that America and the rest of the world finds themselves in today. The only real physical and visible reason for why the system has not capsized yet today is because there are so many good people still in the military, still in law enforcement and still in church whose influence holds everything back. Yet we were absolutely surprised to find that much of what these patriotic people were saying in their literature was coinciding exactly with what Ellen White said in The Great Controversy, to the point that we wondered whether or not they were Adventists.

A not so known radio show host named Steven Quayle has interviewed many people who do not reveal their identities for their own protection to show us what is taking place in government, law enforcement and the military out of our view. One such person is a Southern California police officer whose name is "George." That is all he has left for us to identify him.

In an interview with "George" in 1995, Steven Quayle was able to extract some very shocking words. The general theme of what officer "George" was trying to portray can be more forcefully stated by his interviewer, Steven Quayle:

"If you're undecided about the reality of the coming tribulations, A Cop from Southern California gives You a Cold Hard Slap in the Face: Do Something Now, or Kiss Your "Buts" Goodbye."

"George" was revealing the foreign troops he noticed coming upon the shores of America. He revealed the Soviet military machines he saw entering cities in Southern California by rail transport. He remarked that he understood what they were, but that the general public, once viewing these things would not have a clue about what they were nor what was their purpose. He ultimately remarked about places he had witnessed where the government is concentrating military supplies. He remarked about the fact that the American military and those of many other nations have gone into training for "civilian" or "urban" combat. They are being trained not to deal with other soldiers, but how to deal with the common people in order to put down disorder and riots. He remarked about the fact that law enforcement was becoming more militarized, and that they were more and more being outfitted with clothes and gear designed to withstand shrapnel and bullets instead of what law enforcement currently and commonly wears. He therefore asked the question of what was going on.

One thing he remarked about was what he called, "sticky strips." His exact words about these were:

"We have seen warehouses stacked with M-60s, hand grenades, MP-5s, M-16s, .40 caliber sidearms, pepper foam and sticky strips all designated for local law enforcement. (Sticky strips are something that the military uses; you lay out about a twenty foot strip across the street, and anyone that runs across it sticks to it. You had better untie your shoes, because nothing comes off of it. It's a form of epoxy.)"

What he is saying is that sticky strips are a means of containment to prevent people from either going in a area or leaving it. He is therefore revealing that the military and law-enforcement possess as part of their agenda, measures and means to make sure that no one either leaves or enters any populated area when the full brunt of the calamities hit. The big and absorbing question therefore to us is the following: What good will stocking up on supplies do if you happen to live in a place which is under siege?

Police officer "George" in dialogue with Steven Quayle continues with where he left off about the sticky strips by saying:

"When you see all this stuff coming into law enforcement, you had better question why they need this kind of parity for the criminal element--and you better wonder what they're going to use on you."

Steven Quayle: What's your gut feeling as to the increasing activity and frequency of all this? Obviously, they are building up for a confrontation.


GEORGE: Yes. We're hearing that there will be massive civil unrest, due to either economic collapse, racial issues or food riots. Any of those things would set something off. However, racial issues generally don't generate enough hatred long enough to cause the kind of destruction that these people are preparing for. The kind of destruction, carnage and confrontation that is being planned for by the powers-that-be would be on a NATIONWIDE SCALE FOR MANY MONTHS. This will not be something that will happen for ten minutes and then go away. Most police departments are now mini-forts. Janet Reno did quite an exercise back in August, and increased the security of all federal buildings 180%. This has got to tell you something, people: If you don't wake up, you're going to get run over by the Bradleys because you're too stupid to see it.

The "Bradleys" that officer George is talking about is heavy military equipment. Yet he is trying to tell us that many of our major cities will be placed under siege. Jerusalem was placed under seige in A.D. 70. The seige did not go away in one day, nor three, nor thirty. People were literally starving. You cannot starve a person in a day, in three days or even a week. He may be extremely hungry and all, but he would not look like a skeleton by then. How is it then that people can think that they can store food or supplies while living inside a place that will ultimately be placed under siege?

You can predict what will happen to that rabbi and that lady who are thinking of stocking up without relocating. They may be able to survive after a time. Immediately when calamity strikes, people will go out to take what they cannot receive otherwise. They will not care how they are to acquire what they need. If anyone is seen even trying to defend a dwelling with gunfire, it will be automatically assumed that they have some supplies to protect. If you have food or supplies being stored through more prudent aforethought, it would not help you, because you will not be able to conceal that fact for very long. People will notice all the people around you becoming thinner and thinner while you and your children remain normal. That will be a dead giveaway. Your house or dwelling will then awaken attention and you will soon find yourselves surrounded. People will even go pillaging houses and dwellings just to check to see if they would find food. Those who stock up with food will be made examples of. They will be cleaned out fast and furiously, and they will be lucky to retain their lives.

There is far more information that was given in that interview and discourse. It took place in 1995, after it was already predicted that everything should have fallen through by 1997. The efforts of these people have contributed to the fact that these events have again and again been delayed. The patriotic network in America today, though immense, is nothing in comparison to the forces determined to shut down our system and erect a new global and papal order.

We must stop dreaming to think that all we are supposed to do is to merely take our hearts out of the cities. All prophecy tells us we are supposed to move our bodies as well. Ellen White said:

"If we place ourselves under objectionable influences, can we expect God to work a miracle to undo the results of our wrong course? --No indeed. Get out of the cities as soon as possible, and purchase a little piece of land, where you can have a garden, where your children can watch the flowers growing, and learn from them lessons of simplicity and purity." -- GC Bulletin, March 30, 1903.
At the time those warnings were written, Ellen White thought that the predicted calamities would take place in her day. Delay after delay after delay has conditioned us into meshing with the story of the boy who cried wolf. Will these prophecies be delayed forever? Not one HUNDREDTH of the things that are happening now were happening in Ellen White's day! These warnings were meant for our day. In that, Ellen White stated:

"There are reasons why we should not build in the cities. On these cities, God's judgments are soon to fall." --Letter 158, 902.
"The time is near when large cities will be swept away, and all should be warned of these coming judgments."--Evangleism, p. 29. (1910)
"Our restaurants must be in the cities, for otherwise the workers in these restaurants could not reach the people and teach them the principles of right living. And for the present we shall have to occupy meetinghouses in the cities. But erelong there will be such strife and confusion in the cities, THAT THOSE WHO WISH TO LEAVE THEM WILL NOT BE ABLE. We must be preparing for these issues. This is the light that is given me."--GC Bulletin, April, 6, 1903.

"In harmony with the light given me, I am urging people to come out from the great centers of population. Our cities are increasing in wickedness, and it is becoming more and more evident that those who remain in them unnecessarily DO SO AT THE PERIL OF THEIR SOUL'S SALVATION."--Manuscript 115, 1907.

This must be done prudently. The further out you go will be the least frequently you can travel to and from where you live into the cities. It is not wise to merely stay out there all the time. You have to work in the cities, but we are told that we are to have places prepared at the very least beyond the outskirts of cities. They will likely ultimately be cordoned off. You will have to plan and work to be safely away from your neighbors and also from law enforcement. Though many good people are still in law enforcement, THEY WILL OBEY ORDERS when that day arrives. They will be given commands by those in the higher echelons, many of whom, unknowing to you, believe in depopulation!

If we do not listen to the warnings given to alert the people about Jesuit Infiltration and to systematically tell them that they need to make the preparations to move out by precept and example, we will soon not only find ourselves in similar danger, but will find ourselves under titanic sorrow and eternal despair! As we see the conflagration taking place around us and see the carnage, our hearts will sink within us. If we are not involved in the carnage ourselves, we will notice our friends whom we have related to perishing because we didn't move by example and worked to tell them that terrible calamities are coming by voice and by physical preparation.


5 For thus saith the LORD; We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace.

6 Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness?

7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it. -- Jeremiah 30:5-7


These are the Saints in anguish and terror. Why? Why doesn't it matter that they are holy? Because they are also smarting because of much neglect.

In the example of Jacob, he was fleeing from his brother Esau. He was already in anguish because of his sins, when, in the night, a strange visitor confronted him, and then ensued the struggle and battle of his life. He wrestled with this strange person all night in terrible anguish. He used all his strength and cried in terror as he fought on without stopping. Why? Because it was understood to him at the time that he was not merely fighting for his physical life, but for his eternity. He felt that if the attacker he was wrestling with killed him, that would be it. He would die in his sins and he would be eternally cut off from God. Jacob was not just in physical pain and struggle then at that time, but was in terrible mental agony.

In that story, the major emphasis was the fact that THE TROUBLE JACOB WAS IN WAS BROUGHT ABOUT BY HIS OWN ACTIONS. Is the situation the same with us? Will a terrible situation be brought about by our actions, or by our INACTION? Will there be something similar in just the near future? How will it be in the near future called, "the time of Jacob's trouble?" (Jer. 30:7). The reference is showing that they (we) were asleep while the enemy was advancing. They are then experiencing a rude awakening by viewing the results of their neglect: destruction EVERYWHERE: Men, women, children dying like flies! They are also hated and are being pursued, and they are wondering how they stand in the judgment and can possibly be saved after witnessing the results of not heeding God's instructions for so long.

"The deadly lethargy of the world is paralyzing your senses. Sin no longer appears repulsive because you are blinded by Satan. The judgments of God are soon to be poured out upon the earth. "Escape for thy life" is the warning from the angels of God. Other voices are heard saying: "Do not become excited; there is no cause for special alarm." Those who are at ease in Zion cry "Peace and safety," while heaven declares that swift destruction is about to come upon the transgressor. The young, the frivolous, the pleasure loving, consider these warnings as idle tales and turn from them with a jest. Parents are inclined to think their children about right in the matter, and all sleep on at ease. Thus it was at the destruction of the old world and when Sodom and Gomorrah were consumed by fire. On the night prior to their destruction the

cities of the plain rioted in pleasure. Lot was derided for his fears and warnings. But it was these scoffers that perished in the flames. That very night the door of mercy was forever closed to the wicked, careless inhabitants of Sodom.
It is God who holds in His hands the destiny of souls. He will not always be mocked; He will not always be trifled with. Already His judgments are in the land. Fierce and awful tempests leave destruction and death in their wake. The devouring fire lays low the desolate forest and the crowded city. Storm and shipwreck await those who journey upon the deep. Accident and calamity threaten all who travel upon the land. Hurricanes, earthquakes, sword and famine, follow in quick succession. Yet the hearts of men are hardened. They recognize not the warning voice of God. They will not flee to the only refuge from the gathering storm.
Many who have been placed upon the walls of Zion, to watch with eagle eye for the approach of danger and lift the voice of warning, are themselves asleep. The very ones who should be most active and vigilant in this hour of peril are neglecting their duty and bringing upon themselves the blood of souls.
My brethren, beware of the evil heart of unbelief. The word of God is plain and close in its restrictions; it interferes with your selfish indulgence; therefore you do not obey it. The testimonies of His Spirit call your attention to the Scriptures, point out your defects of character, and rebuke your sins; therefore you do not heed them. And to justify your carnal, ease-loving course you begin to doubt whether the testimonies are from God. If you would obey their teachings you would be assured of their divine origin. Remember, your unbelief does not affect their truthfulness. If they are from God they will stand. Those who seek to lessen the faith of God's people in these testimonies, which have been in the church for the last thirty-six years, are fighting against God.

It is not the instrument whom you slight and insult, but God, who has spoken to you in these warnings and reproofs. In the instruction given by our Saviour to His disciples are words of admonition especially applicable to us: "Take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares." Watch, pray, work--this is the true life of faith. "Pray always;" that is, be ever in the spirit of prayer, and then you will be in readiness for your Lord's coming." - 5T p. 233

When the force of responsibility and eternal despair hits, these following last words will become very keen and cutting:

"In the balances of the sanctuary the Seventh-day Adventist church is to be weighed. She will be judged by the privileges and advantages that she has had. If her spiritual experience does not correspond to the advantages that Christ, at infinite cost, has bestowed on her, if the blessings conferred have not qualified her to do the work entrusted to her, on her will be pronounced the sentence: "Found wanting." By the light bestowed, the opportunities given, will she be judged." -- 8T 247.


"Unless the church, which is now being leavened with her own backsliding, shall repent and be converted, SHE WILL EAT OF THE FRUIT OF HER OWN DOING,
UNTIL SHE SHALL ABHOR HERSELF."

Wounds of This Generation Can Harm Children

Lost in the never-ending push to redefine marriage are those who suffer most when they are denied the benefit of a traditional marriage. Children need both a mother and a father far more than any adult needs societal approval of a romantic relationship. And although American children may, for the most part, have food, shelter and education, too many are denied this most basic need. According to the most recent US Census, a third of American children live apart from their biological fathers. For African American children, it is nearly two thirds.

I have written a great deal, along with many others, about the terrible consequences of father abandonment for children. Children who grow up without their fathers are more likely to be poor, use drugs, commit crimes, drop out of school and commit suicide. But behind these statistics are millions of individual human stories of intense pain. The marriage debate has become so focused on the desires and demands of various groups of adults that we have forgotten the legitimate needs and terrible suffering of children.

An absent father leaves a deep wound in the heart of his child. Writing in the magazine Essence, singer VaShawn Mitchell spoke for millions when he admitted, "As I approach 35, I still have many unanswered questions about my biological father and the reasons it took me nearly 30 years to realize that I had to forgive him and move forward. I had questions like… What man would have a son and not want to be a part of his life?"

Mitchell's unanswered question goes to the heart of fatherlessness: the child who grows up feeling constantly rejected by the man who should have been his provider and protector. Critics of the traditional family have long sought to convince us that the gender of a parent is irrelevant: boys can learn to be men even if they are raised by two "mommies," and girls do not need their biological fathers in their lives to have healthy relationships with men in the future.

Artists and authors have told a different tale for millennia. The longing of the abandoned child for his or her father has been a theme in literature since at least 1200 BC, when Homer told of Telemachus' ache to know his father Odysseus. More recently, Maya Angelou described the occasional visits from her biological father in I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings. "Daddy Baily visited occasionally, bringing shopping bags full of fruit. He is shown like a Sun God, benignly warming and brightening his dark subjects."

Multiple studies confirm that children abandoned by their fathers often report feelings of rage and shame. As adults, they tend to have difficulty trusting others and struggle with fearing abandonment in their relationships. Rapper Lecrae expresses a young boy's yearning for his father in his song, "Just Like You." He notes the reason so many fatherless boys fall into making poor life decisions:

So now I'm looking at the media and following what they feed me,
Rap stars, trap stars, whoever wants to lead me
Even though they lie, they still tell me that they love me,
They say I'm good at bad things at least they proud of me

Is it any wonder that young boys turn to lives of crime and violence, when the purveyors of such lifestyles are the only men to show them any real attention? It is about as surprising as a starving child attempting to steal bread. And no social policy that fails to take into account the deep and legitimate need that every child has for both a mother and a father can ever be considered fair or just.

What does the internal aching so many children have for their missing fathers have to do with how marriage is legally defined? Advocates of redefining marriage constantly scoff at the notion that their policy goals could have a negative effect on anyone. "How does the legal union of two homosexual men affect your marriage?" they ask mockingly.

And of course the debate has nothing to do with my marriage or yours. It has to do with how future generations of adults will approach the very idea of marriage and parenthood. We already have nearly two decades of social experimentation in Scandinavia to draw upon. And it tells us that the broader the definition of marriage is the fewer adults bother with it in the first place. Since legalizing registered partnerships and gay marriage in Scandinavia, an overwhelming number of adults have simply stopped bothering to get married in the first place.

As I have pointed out many times before, words that mean everything, mean nothing. The looser we make the definition of marriage, the fewer people will feel bound to its obligations and constraints. And while broken relationships can hurt adults, they can destroy children.

Sunday Laws and Leaving the Cities

Mrs. White, as you view today's events in the light of what you have been shown about last-day events, what is the next major landmark on the prophetic scene?

"A great crisis awaits the people of God. A crisis awaits the world." 1

"The first day of the week . . . will be set up as was the image at Babylon. All nations and tongues and peoples will be commanded to worship this spurious sabbath. This is Satan's plan to make of no account the day instituted by God." 2

How will this actually take place in our country? Where will the pressure for Sunday legislation come from?

"The dignitaries of church and state will unite to bribe, persuade, or compel all classes to honor the Sunday. The lack of divine authority will be supplied by oppressive enactments. Political corruption is destroying love of justice and regard for truth; and even in free America, rulers and legislators . . . will yield to the popular demand for a law enforcing Sunday observance." 3

"If the people can be led to favor a Sunday law, then the clergy intend to exert their united influence to obtain a religious amendment to the Constitution, and compel the nation to keep Sunday." 4

Prophecy represents Protestantism as having lamblike horns, but speaking as a dragon. Does this mean that Satan is involved in the movement to bring about Sunday legislation?


"There is a satanic force propelling the Sunday movement, but it is concealed. Even the men who are engaged in the work, are themselves blinded to the results which will follow their movement." 5

God's special blessing seems to have been placed upon North America as a result of the establishment of religious liberty here, but what will happen in the United States after Sunday legislation is put into effect?

"The people of the United States have been a favored people; but when they restrict religious liberty, surrender Protestantism, and give countenance to popery, the measure of their guilt will be full, and 'national apostasy' will be registered in the books of heaven." 6

"When our nation, in its legislative councils, shall enact laws to bind the consciences of men in regard to their religious privileges, enforcing Sunday observance, and bringing oppressive power to bear against those who keep the seventh-day Sabbath, the law of God will, to all intents and purposes, be made void in our land; and national apostasy will be fol lowed by national ruin." 7

Will national Sunday laws in the United States follow or precede the close of probation?

"The Lord has shown me clearly that the image of the beast will be formed before probation closes; for it is to be the great test for the people of God. . . . This is the test that the people of God must have before they are sealed." 8

"When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss to clasp hands with spiritualism, when, under the influence of this threefold union, our country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution as a Protestant and republican government, and shall make provision for the propagation of papal falsehoods and delusions, then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan and that the end is near.

"As the approach of the Roman armies was a sign to the disciples of the impending destruction of Jerusalem, so may this apostasy be a sign to us that the limit of God's forbearance is reached, that the measure of our nation's iniquity is full, and that the angel of mercy is about to take her flight, never to return." 9

"The Lord has shown me clearly that the image of the beast will be formed before probation closes; for it is to be the great test for the people of God, by which their eternal destiny will be decided." 10

How should God's people who live in the cities react as they see evidences that national Sunday laws may soon be enacted? Should we now begin to definitely plan to move out of the cities? What obligation do we have as far as means with which we have been entrusted are concerned?

"A crisis is soon to come in regard to the observance of Sunday. . . .

"The Sunday party is strengthening itself in its false claims, and this will mean oppression to those who determine to keep the Sabbath of the Lord. . . .

"If in the providence of God we can secure places away from the cities, the Lord would have us do this. There are troublous times before us. ...

"I see the necessity of the people of God moving out of the cities into retired country [places], where they may cultivate the land and raise their own produce. Thus they may bring their children up with simple, healthful habits. I see the necessity of making haste to get all things ready for the crisis."11

"It is no time now for God's people to be fixing their affections or laying up their treasure in the world. The time is not far distant, when, like the early disciples, we shall be forced to seek a refuge in desolate and solitary places. As the siege of Jerusalem by the Roman armies was the signal for flight to the Judean Christians, so the assumption of power on the part of our nation in the decree enforcing the papal sabbath will be a warning to us. It will then be time to leave the large cities, preparatory to leaving the smaller ones for re tired homes in secluded places among the mountains. And now, instead of seeking expensive dwellings here, we should be preparing to move to a better country, even a heavenly. Instead of spending our means in self-gratification, we should be studying to economize." 12

That's very clear and plain. Are there other reasons that you have been shown why now is the time for us to especially begin to take seriously the instruction God has given you over the years about leaving the cities?

"In harmony with the light given me, I am urging people to come out from the great centers of population. Our cities are in creasing in wickedness, and it is becoming more and more evident that those who remain in them unnecessarily do so at the peril of their soul's salvation." 13

"The time is near when the large cities will be visited by the judgments of God. In a little while, these cities will be terribly shaken. No matter how large or how strong their buildings, no matter how many safeguards against fire may have been provided, let God touch these buildings, and in a few minutes or a few hours they are in ruins. . . ." 14

"The time is fast coming when the controlling power of the labor unions will be very oppressive. Again and again the Lord has instructed that our people are to take their families away from the cities, into the country, where they can raise their own provisions; for in the future the problem of buying and selling will be a very serious one. We should now begin to heed the instruction given us over and over again." 15

But, shouldn't we keep some work in the cities, and even if conditions get very difficult, can't we leave anytime we want to in the future?

"Our restaurants must be in the cities; for otherwise the workers in these restaurants could not reach the people and teach them the principles of right living. And for the present we shall have to occupy meeting houses in the cities. But erelong there will be such strife and confusion in the cities, that those who wish to leave them will not be able." 16

We certainly appreciate the very valuable insights you have given us. Do you have a final word of counsel for us on this matter?

"We as a people have not accomplished the work which God has committed to us. We are not ready for the issue to which the enforcement of the Sunday law will bring us. It is our duty, as we see the signs of approaching peril, to arouse to action. Let none sit in calm expectation of the evil, comforting themselves with the belief that this work must go on because prophecy has foretold it, and that the Lord will shelter His people. We are not doing the will of God if we sit in quietude, doing nothing to preserve liberty of conscience." 17

"God calls upon us to awake, for the end is near. Every passing hour is one of activity in the heavenly courts to make ready a people upon the earth to act a part in the great scenes that are soon to open upon us. These passing moments, that seem of so little value to us, are weighty with eternal interests. . . .

"My brethren, do you realize that your own salvation, as well as the destiny of other souls, depends upon the preparation you now make for the trial before us? Have you that intensity of zeal, that piety and devotion, which will enable you to stand when opposition shall be brought against you? If God has ever spoken by me, the time will come when you will be brought before councils, and every position of truth which you hold will be severely criticized. The time that so many are now allowing to go to waste should be devoted to the charge that God has given us of preparing for the approaching crisis." 18

You have certainly given us a lot to think about. Thank you very much. We hope that our workerseverywhere will take your counsel to heart and begin to do some thing about it. Certainly, the least we can do is to alert our membership to the meaning of the terrible crisis in which we nowfind ourselves.

A Collapse of the U.S. Economy, Moral Apostasy, and Sunday as a National Day of Rest





All the countries in the world have experienced an economic depression. It started in the USA. Financial experts worldwide with insights into the American economic situation, are now convinced that this crisis will continue, that it is global, and that it will be systematic. This economic crisis has already caused a domino effect, but we will see more of this in the near future. It will result in chaos, not only in the USA, but also throughout the world.

The situation is this: The U.S. has for a long time borrowed huge sums of money from private banking firm, the Federal Reserve System. This is owned by the Rothschild dynasty, one of the promoters of the New World Order. The USA has participated in many wars around the globe, and the more wars it plays a part in, the more money it is obliged to borrow, and the greater the debt burden. It has now been realised, that it cannot pay back all of this money. The situation is clear: The economic depression in the USA has created international shockwaves.

The American economic collapse is likely to affect the world’s stock markets, reducing the worth of shares greatly. Far too many have fallen for the temptation to acquire substantial bank loans at low interest rates. Now, however, interest rates will gradually climb to new heights. There may well be double or worse increases in the price of food and other commodities.

We shall soon see the advantages of counsel given before, namely not to believe the notion of ever-rising stock markets, not to borrow money, because the borrower is the slave of the lender, and that one should move out into the country, where one can cultivate one’s own food, while enjoying the splendours of God’s nature.

There was, of course, an economic crisis in 1929, but the crisis that now has started will be worse. We may be heading for a global systemic crisis, which will destroy the way of working, which the leaders of the world have introduced. Transports will partly be paralysed or come to a standstill because of further increases in the price of oil. In addition, people – especially those in cities – will not get the food they are used to have. And when there is a lack of food, there is social unrest, sparking off even more crises.

Now has come the time to sell your house in the city, where you live, and to make yourself free of debt. At the same time, you should look for a place in the countryside. If you have big loans and stay in your city, you will most likely lose your house, car, etc. If you sell now, you can rent a house cheaply in the country, or buy one there at a modest cost. Perhaps you will profit by first renting a house, before purchasing it, as prices go down? Everyone realising the advantages of moving out into the country, should consider their actions carefully, ensuring those actions are crowned with success and blessings. If someone think that this economic scenario not will be a reality, moving out into the country is always an advantage, letting you prepare for the dire that is ahead of us!

Many religious and political leaders, as well as the man in the street, now feel that we have transgressed the laws of nature. Meanwhile, the Devil is busy killing and destroying, as a result of which we are experiencing accidents and disasters at sea and on land, great conflagrations, tornadoes, cyclones. Moreover, sea levels will rise, causing great devastation, and huge loss of life. In many places, there will be flooding, earthquakes, tsunamis, drought, starvation, and even greater moral decay. Indeed, according to Scripture, things will be like they were in Sodom and Gomorrah. Then, immorality flourished in the area of sexuality. You could, then, have sexual intercourse with anyone you lusted after. The same is true of today, with individuals, powers and authorities hardly respecting the Word of God. The new same-sex marriage legislation in Norway and some other countries is clear evidence of this. However, the Bible leaves no room for doubt, saying that: “he… made them male and female”. Nature itself testifies, that man was created male and female. Only they can form couples and procreate in a natural way. In addition we read that: “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.” “If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination”. “For even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also did the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.” “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.” (Matthew 19:4; Genesis 2:24; Exodus 20:14; Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:26-27; I Corinthians 6:9-10.) It is written, if we keep the commandments of God and obey His laws, blessings will come. If we, however, transgress them, curses will come. Now that religious and political leaders refuse to respect the unambiguous words of Scripture, we will reap the grapes of wrath (Deuteronomy Chapter 28). As immorality increases, we will also experience the proclamation of the gospel as a witness to all the world, together with the introduction of “the mark of the beast” (Revelation 13:15-16 + 14:6-12). Then the end will come!



Some feel that we have deviated from the way of God, and that we have to return to His Ten Commandments, in order to receive His blessings. It is in this context that they want to legislate Sunday rest, to ensure the return of God’s blessings. We welcome their realisation of the advantages of the day of rest, but they are very much wrong in uplifting the unbiblical day of rest, Sunday, the day of Jesus’ resurrection, the first day of the week. The day of rest originated during Creation Week, not as a result of the worship of the Sun, or because of the resurrection of Christ (Genesis 2:1-3; Exodus 20:8-11). The death and resurrection of Jesus we remember in the communion service and in baptism (Luke 22:19; Romans 6:3-6).

Today, the leaders of the USA are endeavouring to find something, around which to rally the nation and the world. Sunday as the day of rest is something that both Catholics and most Protestants can agree upon. Many members of the U.S. Congress know this. The individual most enthusiastically championing Sunday as the day of rest is Pope Benedict XVI. He travels the globe uplifting Sunday as the day of rest. He has stated, “Sunday worship is a necessity for all people” and that “without Sunday (worship) we cannot live!” (Taken from www.theTrumpet.com, September 17, 2007).
The pope has also called for Europe to look to its Christian roots and to return to trusting in God and defending traditional values. The Catholic Church wants Sunday observance enshrined in EU law. The European Parliament is debating changes to its Working Time Directive. The Vatican wants a clause in this law that would force every citizen in the European Union to rest on Sunday. The Working Time Directive currently makes it illegal for those working, with some exceptions, in the EU to work for more than 48 hours a week. This bill is being revised, and they want to have a text like this in this directive: “The minimum rest period shall in principle include Sunday. Other members of the European Parliament will have this text: “The minimal weekly rest must include Sunday.” We see their intention: They want to have Sunday as a day of rest – by law. Then you are not free to choose. You have to follow the manmade law, if not you will be punished in one or another way. The Bible has foretold that this will happen in the last part of world history. (Rev. 13. 15-17).

The Ten Commandments Commission in the USA is also talking about traditional values. One of the traditional values for the Catholic Church is Sunday as the day of rest. Sunday as the day of rest is not a Biblical value, but a traditional one.

During his visit to the USA in April 2008, the Pope Benedict XVI talked to the major Christian groups, such as The Christian Coalition, The Christian Churches Together, and Catholic Campaign for America. All of these are working to stress Sunday as the day of rest in the USA. The greatest of these groups, The Christian Coalition, has a ten-point programme, point number 7 reading as follows: “Throughout all the land a National Day of Rest shall be honoured by governments and industrial manufacturers and public shopping facilities.”

Many have claimed, that something of this order never would be a burning issue, because the American Constitution says that Congress shall not make laws regulating religion. Now we see, though, that this issue once again is on the agenda. In 1888, certain members of Congress attempted to pass Sunday legislation in the USA, but their measure failed to gain the necessary votes. A.T. Jones and some other men then stood forward in the Congress and spoke against the Sunday Law some Congressmen wanted to introduce. In his speech to the Congress he said: “Every man who conducts himself as a good citizen is accountable alone to God for his religious faith, and is to be protected in worshipping God according to the dictates of his own conscience…there is no ground in justice nor in right for their claim that the majority should rule in matters of conscience.” He further said: “In all the powers thus delegated to Congress, there is no hint of any power to legislate upon any religious question, or in regard to the observance of any religious institution or rite. Therefore, this Sunday bill, being a religious bill, is unconstitutional; and any legislation with regard to it will be unconstitutional. Sunday being a religious institution, any legislation by Congress in regard to its observance, will be unconstitutional as long as the United States Constitution shall remain as it is now. 


Nor is this all. The nation has been left in doubt as to whether the failure to delegate this power was or was not intentional. The first amendment to the Constitution, in declaring that “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof”, shows that the failure to delegate such power was intentional, and makes the intention emphatic by absolutely prohibiting Congress from exercising any power with regard to religion. It is impossible to frame a law on the subject of religion that will not prohibit the free exercise of religion. Therefore the first amendment to the Constitution absolutely prohibits Congress from even making any law with regard to any religious subject, or the observance of any religious rite or institution…God appointed the Sabbath for a purpose; and that purpose is that men should remember him in his works of creation, and worship him as Creator…those who are calling for this law is to have the State attempt to supply the religious sanctions which belong with the day of rest, and which only can keep it from being a day of idleness and a day of evil. But they know that the State has none of those religious sanctions; and they know that these will have to be supplied to the State by the church, and then the church will call upon the State, by its power, to force them upon the citizen…for the state to allow itself to be dictated to by the church as is here proposed by Mr. Small, is to render the church superior to the civil power, which can end in nothing but a religious despotism, which is the worst of all despotism. Thus by every line of reasoning that can spring from the subject, it is demonstrated that for the State to fix a day of compulsory rest can only end in evil. Therefore, my proposition is proved, that Sunday laws are not for the good of anybody…if you allow this legislation, you lead to the establishment of a new theocracy after the model of the papacy, and civil government has nothing to do with religious things. This bill is wholly religious; and if you begin this course of religious legislation, you will end only in a theocracy, - a man-made theocracy, - and that will be the papacy repeated.” (The National Sunday law, by Alonzo T. Jones, page 23, 46-47, 54-55, 78).

Now the catholic and fallen protestant members in the USA again try to introduce Sunday as a day of rest. Another major organisation, The Ten Commandments Commission, is also striving to have the unbiblical commandments of the Catechism accepted. These, of course, include Sunday as the day of rest. (You can compare the catechismal commandments with God’s Ten Commandments in Exodus 20:3-17.)
When Pope Benedict XVI visited the USA in April 2008, the Cardinal in Chicago, Ill., Francis George, turned to the Pope on behalf of the Catholic leaders in America, presenting a list of priorities shared with the Vatican for the next few years. One of the points was “handing on the faith in the context of sacramental practice and the observance of Sunday worship.”

More than a hundred years ago, Ellen G. White wrote the following about this topic: “The people of the United States have been a favored people; but when they restrict religious liberty, surrender Protestantism, and give countenance to popery, the measure of their guilt will be full, and national apostasy will be registered in the books of heaven. The result of this apostasy will be national ruin” (Review and Herald, May 2, 1893). And: “As America, the land of religious liberty shall unite with the papacy in forcing the conscience and compelling men to honour the false Sabbath, the people of every country on the globe will be led to follow her example. Foreign nations will follow the example of the United States. Though she leads out, yet the same crisis will come upon our people in all parts of the world” (E. G. White, Maranatha, page 214).

When the USA introduces Sunday as the day of rest through a decree or legislation, it will initiate what is called in the Bible “the mark of the beast”, as foretold in Scripture.

On the website www.endtime.net everyone can read and see, that all the characteristics of the “beast” in the 13th Chapter of Revelation, verses 1-10, point to the papacy. One of the identifying characteristics of this “beast” is that it has a mark = the mark of the beast. The Catholic Church, in its own publications, says, that Sunday is a mark of its power and authority. (Catholic Record, London/Ontario, Sept. 1, 1923). The papacy = the beast, and it has a mark = Sunday as the day of rest. Hence, the papal Sunday rest = the mark of the beast. “The mark of the beast” has to do with worship. Since God demandsworship on the Bible’s seventh day of the week, the Sabbath, and the papacy and fallen Protestantism demand worship on the Bible’s first day of the week, Sunday, we must choose our authority. When Sunday is introduced as the day of rest with force, a decree or legislation, then “the mark of the beast” is a fact. The Bible says this will be the last test before Jesus Christ returns.


We can see, how the USA and the Vatican co-operate, and soon, the USA will help the papacy in establishing “the mark of the beast”(Revelation 13:11-17). This being the last great test before the return of Jesus Christ, we are very close to the end of this world’s history. The Devil has been allowed to play his cards, showing his true colours, and God has been merciful and condescending in letting both Satan and all people make their choices in life. Now God will soon act and free His people (I Thessalonians 4:15-17; Revelation 15:2; 20:4).

Both members of Congress, religious leaders and those working for Sunday as the national day of rest in the USA, will use every “trick” to put forward their arguments, and they will succeed. They know, that fear will lead people to make a decision. In their argumentation, they will employ fear of global climate change, fear of terrorism, fear of catastrophes, fear of the judgments of God (in consequence of not keeping Sunday as the day of rest).

We are living in the “last hour” of this world’s history. We are living in the hour of judgment, when God will close everyone’s account, deciding who is going to be saved, and who is going to be lost (Rev. 15: 8; Hebrews 9:27; II Corinthians 5:10). If we have humbled ourselves before God, having put all our sin on Jesus, thus obtaining the forgiveness of sins, and asked for power to walk daily with Jesus, we have nothing to fear of the future (I John 1:9 and 5:2).

When we know that persons are approaching a precipice, they must be warned. However, religious leaders are not warning us about the coming crisis. After all, we should expect religious leaders to be awake, but they are saying “Peace, peace” (Jeremiah 6:13-15; I Thessalonians 5:1-6). Their attitude sends people to sleep. What a strange situation! Here we are living in a period, when the end time prophecies of the Bible are coming true in front of our eyes, yet priests are proclaiming a soothing message. People, though, have to be alerted to the coming crisis, so that they can prepare both spiritually and physically. Now is the time to call to God for mercy. Now is the time to cleanse our hearts in subjection to Christ. Now is the time to pray for power to live righteously before God, so that the fruits of the Spirit may become evident in our lives. These characteristics are love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness, temperance, and such like (Galatians 5:22). We all need the power of the Holy Spirit to live righteously before God, and to be His representatives in these end times! We are to be His witnesses, not in our own strength, but in the power of Him, Who works in us both to will and to do according to His good pleasure (Philippians 2:13). Our eternal destiny depends on fearlessly and decidedly taking a stand for Jesus Christ.

Dear friend! The mark of the beast will soon be upon us. The end of the world will occur sooner, than many think. The end is near. Confusion will fill the earth, and there will be great changes and crises throughout the world. These things should not surprise us, because the Bible has told us in a nutshell what will be.

The coming Sunday law is bad news, for this law will pressurise people into accepting the false Sabbath, Sunday. This will mean the end of the liberty of conscience, and persecution against the people of God, who will refuse to accept the false Sunday Sabbath, will be kindled again, like in the Middle Ages, when the Catholic Church hunted down other Christians. Now they will be assisted by apostate Protestants, international laws, “hate laws,” laws against “discrimination,” powers and authorities.

On the other hand, the introduction of “the mark of the beast” is good news, because it shows the nearness of the Second Coming. Should you feel unprepared, now is the time to put your life in order before the return of Jesus!
