A prison break in Egypt has left nearly 40 people dead, as the head of the country's armed forces urged supporters of ousted president Mohammed Morsi to integrate themselves into the political process.

The country's interior ministry said the prisoners, who were being loaded into a vehicle to be taken to a prison on the outskirts of Cairo, had taken an officer hostage during an escape attempt and died after suffocating on tear gas.

"Thirty-six of the prisoners died of suffocation and crowding after tear gas was used to stop their escape," the ministry said.

The official MENA news agency reported an "unknown gunman" had tried to aid prisoners in their escape.

More than 830 people have died in Egypt since last Wednesday in clashes pitting backers of the deposed Islamist president Morsi against security forces.

Police have said they have arrested more than 1,000 Brotherhood sympathisers in recent days as part of a broad crackdown aimed at ending weeks of political turmoil.

The call from General Abdel Fatah al Sisi was the military's first public comments since last week's violent crackdown.

The General says there is room for everyone in Egypt.

"The Egyptian people are free to choose whom they want to rule them, and we are the protectors of this free will," he said.

He urged Brotherhood supporters to "revise their national position and realise that legitimacy belongs to the people to give it to whoever they want and take it from them whenever they want."
West pushes forward with economic sanctions to stop violence

Meanwhile, in the United States, senior Republicans are calling on President Barack Obama to withdraw more than $1 billion in aid to the Egyptian military in the wake of last week's killings.

Republican senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham went to Egypt at President Obama's request two weeks ago.

Senator McCain said standing by and watching the massacre happen is a violation of what the US stands for.

"We have no credibility," he said.

"We do have influence but when you don't use that influence then you don't have that influence."

Senator Graham also favours cutting aid and other forms of economic pressure.

"Even though the Brotherhood overplaying their hand started this we can't support what the military is doing in response."

President Obama has so far delayed delivering fighter jets and postponed a joint military exercise and is being backed by senior Democrat senators.

European Union governments will this week question how to best use their economic ties with Egypt to pressure Cairo's army-backed rulers into finding a peaceful compromise with Morsi supporters.

At stake could be a $7.2 billion package of grants and loans promised by the EU, its member governments and international financial institutions last year, as well as various trade incentives, EU officials and experts say.

Glenn Greenwald's partner detained at Heathrow airport for nine hours

David Miranda, partner of Guardian interviewer of whistleblower Edward Snowden, questioned under Terrorism Act

Glenn Greenwald: a failed attempt at intimidation

The partner of the Guardian journalist who has written a series of stories revealing mass surveillance programmes by the US National Security Agency was held for almost nine hours on Sunday by UK authorities as he passed through London's Heathrow airport on his way home to Rio de Janeiro.

David Miranda, who lives with Glenn Greenwald, was returning from a trip to Berlin when he was stopped by officers at 8.05am and informed that he was to be questioned under schedule 7 of the Terrorism Act 2000. The controversial law, which applies only at airports, ports and border areas, allows officers to stop, search, question and detain individuals.

The 28-year-old was held for nine hours, the maximum the law allows before officers must release or formally arrest the individual. According to official figures, most examinations under schedule 7 – over 97% – last under an hour, and only one in 2,000 people detained are kept for more than six hours.

Miranda was released, but officials confiscated electronics equipment including his mobile phone, laptop, camera, memory sticks, DVDs and games consoles.

Since 5 June, Greenwald has written a series of stories revealing the NSA's electronic surveillance programmes, detailed in thousands of files passed to him by whistleblower Edward Snowden. The Guardian has also published a number of stories about blanket electronic surveillance by Britain's GCHQ, also based on documents from Snowden.

While in Berlin, Miranda had visited Laura Poitras, the US film-maker who has also been working on the Snowden files with Greenwald and the Guardian.

"This is a profound attack on press freedoms and the news gathering process," Greenwald said. "To detain my partner for a full nine hours while denying him a lawyer, and then seize large amounts of his possessions, is clearly intended to send a message of intimidation to those of us who have been reporting on the NSA and GCHQ. The actions of the UK pose a serious threat to journalists everywhere.

"But the last thing it will do is intimidate or deter us in any way from doing our job as journalists. Quite the contrary: it will only embolden us more to continue to report aggressively."

A spokesperson for the Guardian said: "We were dismayed that the partner of a Guardian journalist who has been writing about the security services was detained for nearly nine hours while passing through Heathrow airport. We are urgently seeking clarification from the British authorities."

A spokesperson for Scotland Yard said: "At 08:05 on Sunday, 18 August a 28-year-old man was detained at Heathrow airport under schedule 7 of the Terrorism Act 2000. He was not arrested. He was subsequently released at 17:00."

Scotland Yard refused to be drawn on why Miranda was stopped using powers which enable police officers to stop and question travellers at UK ports and airports.

There was no comment from the Home Office in relation to the detention. However, there was surprise in political circles and elsewhere. Labour MP Tom Watson said that he was shocked at the news and called for it to be made clear if any ministers were involved in authorising the detention.

He said: "It's almost impossible, even without full knowledge of the case, to conclude that Glenn Greenwald's partner was a terrorist suspect.

"I think that we need to know if any ministers knew about this decision, and exactly who authorised it."

"The clause in this act is not meant to be used as a catch-all that can be used in this way."

Schedule 7 of the Terrorism Act has been widely criticised for giving police broad powers under the guise of anti-terror legislation to stop and search individuals without prior authorisation or reasonable suspicion – setting it apart from other police powers.

Those stopped have no automatic right to legal advice and it is a criminal offence to refuse to co-operate with questioning under schedule 7, which critics say is a curtailment of the right to silence.

Last month the UK government said it would reduce the maximum period of detention to six hours and promised a review of the operation on schedule 7 amid concerns it unfairly targets minority groups and gives individuals fewer legal protections than they would have if detained at a police station.

No plans' to change Sunday trading laws in WA

By Robyn Preston Aug. 18, 2013, 1:23 p.m.

Any changes to WA's Sunday trading hours will only be made after "consultation with interest groups," Commerce Minister Michael Mischin has said.

Mr Mischin has played down reports that shops will soon be allowed to open from 9am on Sundays instead of the current 11am start after an outcry from union groups.

"A further extension of Sunday trading hours would rob hospitality and retail workers, mostly women, of time with family," UnionsWA secretary Meredith Hammat said.

Ms Hammat said the move would also allow businesses to dispense with the requirement to pay employees more for working unsociable hours.

"Business has been campaigning hard to get rid of penalty rates, despite the fact there is no evidence this will create new jobs, and plenty of evidence it will hurt low-paid workers," she said.

Sunday trading started in Perth a year ago with Premier Colin Barnett tipping it to become the main shopping day of the week.

While Mr Mischin was quick to dismiss specific changes to WA's Sunday trading times, he did not completely rule out the idea of altering trading laws.

"Any changes of that nature will be made only after consultation with interest groups," he said.

"I have no plans specifically to change Sunday and Public Holiday trading hours at this time, but I am of course receptive to hearing about and considering any option for improvement if a case can be made for it.

"My objective is to continue to improve the retail trading regime and address anomalies and inequities that adversely and unnecessarily affect commerce and consumers, as they are identified."

Ms Hammat said no mention of plans to introduce a further extention of Sunday trading times had been made by the state government, prior to the March election.

"During the recent election the Barnett Government made no mention of plans to introduce a further extension of Sunday trading times. To do so now would be arrogant," she said.

Puerto Rico to Renew Debate on Political Status

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico August 17, 2013 (AP)

The party of Puerto Rico's governor is pushing for a constitutional assembly to help resolve the U.S. territory's political status.

Members of the Popular Democratic Party expect to debate the issue Sunday at their annual convention.

The proposal states that a constitutional assembly should be held if President Barack Obama's administration does not present a Congress-approved measure to resolve the status within a year.

The White House is seeking $2.5 million to finance a future plebiscite that the U.S. attorney general would have to approve before it goes to voters. The announcement earlier this year followed disagreements about the results of a nonbinding, two-part referendum held in November.

Puerto Rico also held nonbinding referendums in 1967, 1993 and 1998, with statehood never garnering a clear majority.

Thrust Into Nonstop Turmoil, an Obama Adviser Counsels Pragmatism

By MARK LANDLER
Published: August 16, 2013

CHILMARK, Mass. — Each morning this week, Susan E. Rice has called or come to a secluded contemporary house here, intelligence reports at hand, to brief President Obama about the chaotic world that has followed him on vacation.

Susan E. Rice, left, seen in the White House Rose Garden in June, has been on the job as national security adviser for six weeks.

Blood and Chaos Prevail in Egypt, Testing Control (August 17, 2013)

Ties Fraying, Obama Drops Putin Meeting (August 8, 2013)

On Wednesday, Ms. Rice, the national security adviser, delivered a particularly troubling report: Egypt’s military had begun a bloody operation to clear two camps of demonstrators protesting on behalf of that country’s ousted president, Mohamed Morsi. Among the options she laid out was a plan already on the table to pull the United States from joint military exercises with Egypt.

After Mr. Obama left to play golf, Ms. Rice, 48, returned to her own lodgings to consult with aides at the White House. After 5 p.m., the two spoke again, and Mr. Obama signed off on the plan.

The turmoil in Egypt, which erupted in early July just as she took up her job, has presented the toughest test yet for Ms. Rice, who in six weeks has already dealt with a terrorist scare that prompted the closing of embassies across the Middle East and with the latest chapter in deteriorating relations with Russia: the saga of Edward J. Snowden, a former National Security Agency contractor, which led Mr. Obama to cancel a meeting with President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia.

Given her reputation as an outspoken defender of human rights and advocate of American intervention to prevent abuses, some analysts wondered if Ms. Rice, a former United Nations ambassador, would bring a more muscular, idealistic cast to Mr. Obama’s foreign policy.

Aides said her counsel on Egypt, however, had been resolutely pragmatic: signal America’s displeasure by canceling the military exercises and holding up the delivery of F-16 fighter jets, but avoid rupturing a four-decade relationship with Egypt’s military leaders.

“She has wanted to preserve the relationship,” said a senior administration official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss internal deliberations. “She’s pretty realistic on some of these issues.”

The mere fact that Ms. Rice has traveled to Martha’s Vineyard this week attests to her closeness to the president. She is the first national security adviser to make one of Mr. Obama’s vacation trips, which were staffed in the past by aides like Benjamin J. Rhodes, a deputy national security adviser, and Denis R. McDonough, the chief of staff, whose history with Mr. Obama goes back to the 2008 campaign.

And Ms. Rice is not only working, she is also socializing with Mr. Obama and his wife, Michelle. On Wednesday evening, after briefing him on Egypt, Ms. Rice attended a sunset cocktail party given for the Obamas by the cable TV mogul Brian Roberts, mingling with guests like Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr.; Valerie Jarrett, a close Obama adviser; and Larry David, who talked about his new HBO movie, set on Martha’s Vineyard.

Ms. Rice, who got to know Mr. Obama as a foreign policy adviser during his campaign in 2008, has brought along her husband, Ian Cameron, a TV producer, and their two children. In between the crises, aides say, she is trying to spend time with her family.

People who know Ms. Rice said she aspires to be not just a confidante and internal broker of policy options for the president — as was the model for previous national security advisers — but also a strategic thinker and a public voice for foreign policy.

If so, Egypt may be a hard policy to sell. The administration’s reluctance to cast off the Egyptian military is exposing it to criticism that it is tolerating a brutal regime with no plans to return Egypt to democracy and no qualms about gunning down its people. Ms. Rice, officials said, will have to judge how much bloodshed the United States can stomach.

It is a familiar quandary. Ms. Rice pushed Mr. Obama to back a NATO intervention against Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi in Libya and has expressed regret, as an official involved in the debate, that the Clinton administration did not do more to prevent the genocide in Rwanda in 1994.

Bishop Blaire Calls On Businesses, Churches, Unions, Private Citizens To Reduce Inequality In 2013 Labor Day Statement

August 12, 2013

Cites rampant income inequality in the midst of uneven economic recovery
Urges bold action to create just economy with jobs that provide living wage
Calls for increased minimum wage, immigration reform, end to wage theft

WASHINGTON—The growing disparity in the income of U.S. workers is the focus of the 2013 Labor Day Statement of Bishop of Stockton, California, chairman of the Committee on Domestic Justice and Human Development of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB).

In the statement, dated September 2, Bishop Blaire said that most people want to live in a more equal society that provides opportunities for everyone. "The current imbalances do not have to be inevitable," Bishop Blaire wrote. "We must be bold in promoting a just economy that reduces inequality by creating jobs that pay a living wage and share with workers some profits of the company, as well as ensuring a strong safety net for jobless workers and their families and those who are incapable of work."

Bishop Blaire echoed the words of Pope Francis, that "work is fundamental to the dignity of a person…. it gives us the ability to maintain oneself, one's family, to contribute to the growth of one's own nation." Bishop Blaire said millions of workers are "denied this honor and respect as a result of unemployment, underemployment, unjust wages, wage theft, abuse or exploitation."

Even amid a modest economic recovery, he said, "Over four million people have been jobless for over six months, and that does not include the millions more who have simply lost hope; for every available job, there are as many as five unemployed and underemployed people actively vying for it. This gap pushes wages down – half of the jobs in this country pay less than $27,000. Over 46 million people live in poverty, 16 million of them children," he wrote.

He noted that individuals, the Church, businesses, government and community organizations all share the responsibility to create jobs that allow workers to support themselves and their families.

"Ethical and moral business leaders know that it is wrong to chase profits and success at the expense of workers' dignity," he wrote. "They know they have a vocation to build the kind of solidarity that honors the worker and the least among us. They remember that the economy is 'for people.'"

Bishop Blaire cited the importance of unions in helping workers participate in company decisions that affect them and noted that the rise in income inequality has paralleled the decline of unions in the United States. He urged unions to continually improve themselves and focus on issues including "raising the minimum wage, stopping wage theft," and "standing up for safe and healthy working conditions."

Bishop Blaire also voiced support for immigrants, calling for policies that "bring immigrant workers out of the shadows to a legal status and offer them a just and fair path to citizenship, so that their human rights are protected and the wages for all workers rise."

2013 Australian Election - A Jesuit Agenda

Aug 17 2013 | Charlie Adams |

Australia is the only wealthy nation in the world to dodge the global financial crisis, mostly due to the mining sector. That is why Australia is a momentous target in the cross hairs of the elite who are trying to implement total globalization. To comprehend what direction our masters want us to go, we must look at the state of affairs of America.

The US economy has been derailed by risky loans, Wall St corruption and military spending which has incurred such a debt that recovery is inconceivable. Bailouts have consolidated wealth and power into the hands of few by propping up the banks and companies that are of concern to those involved.

The European Union is also floundering in shallow water with many members on the verge of bankruptcy. The middle class of the richer nations, are effectively being wiped out, as we see massive wealth distribution on a global scale. The reason is that a New World Order (globalization) must be built on equality, or the poorer nations will have no incentive to join. Which means lowering the standard of living for everyday Australians to create an economic equilibrium.

The global economic hitmen have a solution for the rogue robust Australian economy. It’s called “carbon tax” which is economic suicide.

The carbon tax is a death blow to the “land of plenty” because 33% of Australia’s emissions stem from export-orientated activities that include mining, compared to only 8% of the US. The reality is that the demand for mining resources will instead be filled by the US, Canada & Brazil while gutting the Australian economy.

The United States is the world super cop enforcing its plans of a global government on the rest of the world. However an unseen power is pulling the strings, the Jesuit Order which is the military arm of the Roman Catholic Church, and their objective is to reinstate the Vatican’s rule over all nations. Vatican City is not only a religious power but political, as Vatican city is a separate state to that of Italy having diplomatic ties with other nations.

Part of the Jesuit plan to subdue the protestant nation of the United States was proselytizing through education, infiltration, occupying seats of Supreme Courts, grooming presidents, dominating and subverting financial institutions and setting up Intelligence agencies. The CIA was a creation of Catholic secret society “Knights of Malta” member Allen Dulles. From beginning to end the New World Order is a Roman Catholic affair.

Which brings us to the charade of the 2013 Australian Federal Elections. The appearance of choice between Kevin Rudd and Tony Abbott is nothing more than an US/Vatican hedged bet.

When Kevin Rudd assumed office in 2007 his policies conflicted with the plans of the United States. Wikileaks published leaked emails that allude to CIA asset Mark Arbib (now resigned) facilitating the ejection of Labour Party Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and replacing him with Julia Gillard, who appointed him Foreign Minister; perhaps until he learned to be subservient to the powers that be. After much grovelling and re-education he was reinstated as Prime Minister after Julia Gillard imposed the unpopular and diabolical carbon tax.

[Kevin Rudd & the preceeding Pope Benedict XVI - Becoming familiar with who really pulls the strings: the Vatican]

KEVIN Rudd's decision to take holy communion at the Mary MacKillop Memorial Chapel in Sydney confirms that he, at least at heart, is still a Roman Catholic, even though he does attend a Anglican service with his wife. But Kevin Rudd is not immune from another coupe de tare for misbehavior, as there is already a replacement waiting on the periphery. Minister for Education Bill shorten is Jesuit educated at Xavier university and is a leader in waiting.

The influence of Jesuit educators over former students cannot be underestimated – by moulding the minds of their students, the Jesuit Order retains influence over them, even in their more advanced years. There is an old saying, “give me the child until he is seven and I will give you the man.”

"Jesuit education would consist in the creation of “multiplying agents.”" -Jesuit General Pedro Arrupe S.J.

Tony Abbott is a man nurtured by Jesuit maxims attending Jesuit St Aloysius and Jesuit St Ignatius Riverview, where Father Emmet Costello was his mentor who aided Abbott in attaining a Rhodes Scholarship at Oxford University. Cecil Rhodes had been a New World Order advocate donating his wealth to the further indoctrination of future leaders after he died.

As Abbott studied at Oxford University he subsequently met another Jesuit priest Father Paul Mankowski, whom he described as “the finest man I have ever met”, who persuaded Abbott to become a Catholic priest. In 1984 Abbott entered St Patrick’s seminary located in Manly N.S.W, but later abandoned the idea of priesthood due to the rampant culture of homosexuality.

[Tony Abbott & Barnaby Joyce both Jesuit trained]

“Abbott's Coalition ministry is shaping as a kind of Jesuit jamboree. Not only are he and Barnaby Joyce old Ignatians, but Joe Hockey is a product of St Aloysius' College, Christopher Pyne attended St Ignatius' College, Adelaide, and Kevin Andrews lived at Newman College while studying law and arts at Melbourne University.”

Unique among Catholic religious orders, Jesuits take a fourth vow. While they all promise poverty, chastity and obedience, only Jesuits pledge obedience to the Pope. Australian politicians who are mentored by Jesuit Priests are unfit to lead Australia because conflicting of interests.

''We were set up to serve the Pope, not be one,'' ~ Greg O'Kelly- Jesuit priest & Bishop of Port Pirie diocese in South Australia.

“….through a mix of masculine Christianity and svelte intellectualism, the Jesuits seem to have been able to hard-wire a large slice of the next shift of political leaders.” In Canberra, as it is in Rome: here come the Jesuits ~ Damien Murphy - Sydney Morning Herald

The Jesuits were approved by Pope Paul III in 1540 to counteract the reformation that broke the back of Papal rule of the known world. The current Superior General Aldolfo Nicolas, also known as the Black Pope is working with great subtlety; propagating Roman Catholic ideology throughout Asia and Oceania at this present time. The first Jesuit to be elected is Pope is Pope Francis I, confirming that the Jesuit Order now has total control of the Roman Catholic Church and this has subsequently raised the profile of the order within the Commonwealth of Australia through high profile political agents.

The Jesuits pride themselves on social justice, which is a contradiction due to widespread cover up of child abuse and money laundering that still plagues the Roman Catholic Church. Recently we have seen the power of the Roman Catholic Church using government officials to cover up the evil conduct of Catholic priests in relation to child abuse.NSW Police have admitted shredding all records of a senior officer’s involvement with a Catholic church body which deals with sexual abuse. ~ABC News Australia

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2013-06-20/police-destroyed-church-meeting-notes/4769784 Is this the social justice the Catholic Church is talking about?

"My history of the Jesuits is not eloquently written, but it is supported by unquestionable authorities, [and] is very particular and very horrible. Their [the Jesuit Order’s] restoration [in 1814 by Pope Pius VII] is indeed a step toward darkness, cruelty, despotism, [and] death. … I do not like the appearance of the Jesuits. If ever there was a body of men who merited eternal damnation on earth and in hell, it is this Society of [Ignatius de] Loyola." ~ John Adams (1735-1826; 2nd President of the United States)

So what happens when Jesuit educated men are appointed to positions of government? Lets have a look at the turmoil and hijacking inflicted on the United States government.

CIA Director George Tenet (Alumnus Jesuit Georgetown University) and NSA Michael Hayden (Alumnus Jesuit Duquense University) had an astonishing and catastrophic intelligence black out when 3 alleged hijacked planes slammed into the World Trade Centre and Pentagon. Yet, George Tenet was given a medal for his role in the 9/11 fiasco. Figure that one out

It is unclear what hit the Pentagon due to missing plane wreckage but Pentagon employees in that section were investigating 2.3 trillion dollars was unaccounted for in the Pentagon budget.

Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld (Alumnus Jesuit Georgetown University) survived the attack.

Which brings us to Barrack Obama who was groomed for the presidency by the Jesuits as his mentor Jesuit Priest Gregory Galluzo is still advising Obama. Obama has appointed many Jesuit educated persons to positions of power.Every CIA director since 9/11 has attended Jesuit Universities. The NSA has been in the spotlight recently, turning spying into a global phenomenon that has outraged citizens. Roman Catholic General Keith B. Alexander continues his role as Director of NSA and spying on citizens.

The striking loss of liberties since 9/11 resonates concerns of a staged problem, reaction, & solution model of social engineering.

Within the United States the bill of rights is a safeguard against tyranny, however it is plain to see that an all out assault on the United States constitution is waged by Jesuit educated individuals.

Lt General Michael Hayden (Alumnus Jesuit Duquense University) has been in the spotlight for breaching the IV Amendment: unreasonable search and seizure during domestic surveillance, when he held the position of NSA director from 1999 – 2005. Now the scandal of global surveillance of citizens has extended itself to Roman Catholic incumbent NSA director Lt General Keith B. Alexander.

NSA contractor Edward Snowden has defected to Russia after he leaked documents relating to the massive breach of the IV Amendment within the United States and disregard of the constitutions of other nations.

Michael Quigley (Jesuit Loyola University Alumnus) sponsored an amendment to the Patriot Act prohibiting sale of arms to individuals on the FBI terror watch list. Which sounds reasonable at first glance, until we study the US government’s revised definition of a terrorist; that now includes whistle blowers, protestors or anyone who holds different to opinions of those of the state. This violates the II Amendment: the right to bear arms.

Perhaps the Jesuit controlled United States have taken a page out of the Spanish Inquisition history book?

The NDAA is an extension of the Patriot Act, insidiously crafted by Jesuit Georgetown University educated Professor Viet Dihn, and is a clear breach of Amendment VI (right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the state and district wherein the crime shall have been committed).

So the question that Australians must ask themselves: is what are the dangers of having a Jesuit/Catholic controlled Prime Minister in office? Will the interests of Vatican globalization or the interests of Australians be promoted? Remember wealth distribution in the form of “carbon tax” or by Rudd’s proposed switch to a version similar to the EU’s Emissions Trading Scheme is still wealth distribution and an economic inflicted wound on Australia.

Remember the promise of Bob Hawke (no child living in poverty by 1990), the promise of John Howard (no gst tax) or Julia Gillard no “carbon tax” and now Tony Abbott’s promise to reverse the carbon tax. Don’t be fooled!

During a campaign the air is full of speeches - and vice versa. ~Author Unknown

The Foundations of Many Generations - Walter Veith

279 The Foundations of Many Generations, Part 1

 MrTaelti

Published on Jul 24, 2013

Universalism threatens to remove the very foundation of the true church, that is, Christ Himself. There is no other foundation upon which the true church of Christ can be built other than that which is Christ Jesus. But as world religions embrace each other in apparent unity, the character of God has to be maligned and blasphemed. In this lecture, Walter Veith compares some doctrines of Catholicism, such as immortality, hell, the abolition of Biblical health principles, and works, which make the ministry of Christ of none effect. We compare these doctrines to those of the Koran to show that the two religions share the same principles and the same doctrines to the exclusion of truth. Actual statements of Catholicism are compared with the Koran to show the true character of these religious systems. This lecture serves as a bastion for God's people to avoid the snares of a new universalism that is raising its head even amongst our people.

The lecture is a continuation of the subject discussed in The Foundations of Many Generations - Part 1. This lecture serves as a bastion for God's people to avoid the snares of a new universalism that is raising its head even amongst our people..

Danny Vierra explains how we need healthy bodies and do like Daniel and his friends did - go vegan, in order to have clear minds to withstand the wiles of the devil as we enter into the final conflict. His new book, "The Final Inquisition" is promoted, and he gives a powerful testimony of how he went from a drug-tripping high-flying-about-to-crash life to a perfect landing with Jesus Christ.

Betrayed By Friends And Relatives

A man’s foes shall be they of his own household. Matthew 10:36.

When the law of God is made void, and the church is sifted by the fiery trials that are to try all that live upon the earth, a great proportion of those who are supposed to be genuine will give heed to seducing spirits, and will turn traitors and betray sacred trusts. They will prove our very worst persecutors. “Of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them;” and many will give heed to seducing spirits.

Those who apostatize in time of trial will bear false witness and betray their brethren, to secure their own safety. They will tell where their brethren are concealed, putting the wolves on their track. Christ has warned us of this, that we may not be surprised at the cruel, unnatural course pursued by friends and relatives.

We shall find that we must let loose of all hands except the hand of Jesus Christ. Friends will prove treacherous, and will betray us. Relatives, deceived by the enemy, will think they do God service in opposing us and putting forth the utmost efforts to bring us into hard places, hoping we will deny our faith. But we may trust our hand in the hand of Christ amid darkness and peril.

The followers of Christ must expect to encounter sneers. They will be reviled; their words and their faith will be misrepresented. Coldness and contempt may be harder to endure than martyrdom....

Parents will turn harshly against their children who accept unpopular truth. Those who conscientiously serve God will be accused of rebellion. Property that was willed to children or other relatives who believe the present truth will be given into other hands. Guardians will rob orphans and widows of their just dues. Those who depart from evil will make themselves a prey through laws enacted to compel the conscience. Men will take to themselves property to which they have no right. The words of the apostle will be verified in the near future: “All that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.”

The Sabbath is the sign of man's allegiance to God

"Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work: but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it."

The Sabbath is not introduced as a new institution but as having been founded at creation. It is to be remembered and observed as the memorial of the Creator's work. Pointing to God as the Maker of the heavens and the earth, it distinguishes the true God from all false gods. All who keep the seventh day signify by this act that they are worshipers of Jehovah. Thus the Sabbath is the sign of man's allegiance to God as long as there are any upon the earth to serve Him. The fourth commandment is the only one of all the ten in which are found both the name and the title of the Lawgiver. It is the only one that shows by whose authority the law is given. Thus it contains the seal of God, affixed to His law as evidence of its authenticity and binding force.

God has given me six days wherein to labor, and He requires that their own work be done in the six working days. Acts of necessity and mercy are permitted on the Sabbath, the sick and suffering are at all times to be cared for; but unnecessary labor is to be strictly avoided. "Turn away thy foot from the Sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on My holy day; and call the Sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honorable; and . . . honor Him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure." Isaiah 58:13. Nor does the prohibition end here. "Nor speaking thine own words," says the prophet. Those who discuss business matters or lay plans on the Sabbath are regarded by God as though engaged in the actual transaction of business. To keep the Sabbath holy, we should not even allow our minds to dwell upon things of a worldly character. And the commandment includes all within our gates. The inmates of the house are to lay aside their worldly business during the sacred hours. All should unite to honor God by willing service upon His holy day.

The King of the North Embracing World Religions - Walter Veith

Learn about the greatest apostasy in the history of Christianity. A gospel of brass can be easily molded to the requirements of interreligious dialogue. Sacrificing principle and even the very essence of salvation enables people to embrace all religions irrespective as to whether the religions themselves acknowledge or negate the supremacy of Christ. The deity of Christ in particular has to be sacrificed on the altar of expediency in order to embrace the non-Christian religions and bring them into the fold of the anti-typical Babylon. In this lecture, we look at the statements and pictorial evidence of the greatest apostasy in the history of Christianity. Moreover, we lay the foundation for a study of the inroads of the king of the north into the very heart of antitypical Jerusalem..

Unpack the meaning of the prophecies in Daniel 11 with Professor Walter Veith's in-depth analysis. This lecture is a Bible study on Daniel 11 outlining the various possible interpretations of the prophetic delineations. The DVD begins with a summary of some of the historic views regarding Daniel 11 which see this prophecy as a parallel prophecy to Daniel 7 and 8. The presentation continues with a look at the chapter in its broader context as a merism and defines who is represented by the king of the north and the king of the south. The prophecy is compared typologically with other Biblical narrations such as the king and prince of Tyre as well as the literal, historic events associated with the literal kings of the north and south just before the first and second destruction of Jerusalem, which in turn serve as types for the final events before the coming of Christ.

Rest In God - Keeping the Sabbath Holy
Bible Principles: While this list of Bible principles on keeping the Sabbath holy is not comprehensive, it should help you as you search the Bible to learn how to be like Jesus and "do those things that are pleasing in His sight." 1 John 3:22

The Sabbath is a day to cease our creating, working with the creation, and appreciate what God has done in the world and is doing in us. Genesis 2

The Sabbath is a time to lay our burdens down and rest. We should not do any servile work on the Sabbath. This includes our entire family, even our servants and beasts of burden and strangers who live among us. Jeremiah 17; Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5

The Sabbath is an holy convocation. We should meet and worship with others. Leviticus 23

We should be reverent and show God that we love, honor, and respect His authority. Psalm 89:7, Habakkuk 2:20

The Sabbath should be a day of delight and rejoicing, a day which we forsake our thoughts and words for God's thoughts and words. Isaiah 56, 58

The Sabbath is a time of healing. Matthew 12, Mark 1, 3, Luke 13, 14

We are not to buy or sell on the Sabbath. Nehemiah 13

The Sabbath is a time to do good and visit and comfort the sick. We should do spiritual work on the Sabbath, serving others. John 5

The Sabbath is a time of prayer. Acts 16:13

The Sabbath is a time to reason with others about spiritual principles, and for ministers to teach the word of God. Acts 17:2, 18:4, 11

Elaborate food preparation is to be done on the day before the Sabbath so that there is no baking or heavy cooking on the Sabbath. Exodus 16

The Sabbath is a time for Singing. Ephesians 5:19-20, Colossians 3:16, Psalms 92 is called the "Sabbath Psalm"

Interfaith movement struggles to adapt to changing religious landscape

By Michelle Boorstein, Friday, August 16, 12:00 PM

The Interfaith Conference of Metropolitan Washington is known as one of the country’s early multi-faith groups, and its executive director’s nickname is the “dean of American interfaith.” Yet as it approaches its 35th anniversary in November, the group is fighting for survival, down to two full-time staff members and facing more than $100,000 in debt.

The conference, which has a major fundraiser planned this fall and aims to restructure the organization and sharpen its mission, is hardly alone. Some of the oldest and best-known names in interfaith, including the National Council of Churches and the Chicago-based Council for a Parliament of the World Religions, have slashed staff as their revenue shriveled.

The Interfaith Conference is struggling, experts and some group leaders say, in part because it relies too much on clergy and religious denominations for participation and money at a time when many traditional faith groups are losing members and status as more Americans drop or switch spiritual affiliations and are less committed.

But in some ways, the challenges now faced by traditional interfaith organizations can be seen as a good thing, some interfaith experts and participants say.

Since the Interfaith Conference was founded in 1978, religious minorities have grown significantly in size and stature, and Americans now interact more easily with people of other faiths in their schools, offices, neighborhoods and even their immediate families.

In other words, more than dong interfaith, many Americans are living interfaith. This culture change has given rise to a burgeoning number of smaller, activist interfaith groups, some of which are only very loosely identified with faith traditions, if at all.

The old model was institutional big-wigs talking carefully to one another about theology. The understanding of what ‘multi-faith’ is and how to organize around it has broadened tremendously,” said Hartford Institute for Religion Research Director David Roozen, who has focused on interfaith research. “The dominant American attitude toward other faith traditions is indifference. . . . It can be a challenge for interfaith [institutions].”

Activist groups

Younger interfaith types today are more interested in activism, often in the form of focusing on particular policy issues. For example, some of the newer, small groups in Washington are Interfaith Youth for Climate Justice and Shoulder to Shoulder: Standing with American Muslims.

When these new, more activist groups are taken into account, the interfaith movement as a whole appears to be thriving. The Rev. Bud Heckman, who has been a leader of several key interfaith groups, said his research shows there are twice as many interfaith groups nationally as there were a decade ago. A recent Hartford Institute survey showed congregations are twice as likely to engage in interfaith worship today as they were 10 years ago.

“There’s a generational thing here. A lot of people are quite happy to be eclectic and take their insights from various sources. The interfaith councils we have now [the more traditional ones] solidify: ‘I’m no longer Heidi, I’m Heidi the Christian.’ I don’t think youth are interested in those boxes,” said Heidi Hadsell, who is president of Hartford Theological Seminary and has led several international interfaith organizations.

Pope and world churches leader join call for dialogue in Egypt

Pope Francis and the head of the World Council of Churches, Rev. Olav Fykse Tveit, have joined the United Nations and international leaders in issuing pleas for peace and dialogue in strife-torn Egypt where at least 638 people have been killed since Wednesday.

"Let us pray together for peace, dialogue and reconciliation in that dear nation and throughout the world," said the Pope Francis after a service at the papal summer residence of Castel Gandolfo southeast of Rome on Thursday.

Francis lamented the "painful news" coming from Egypt following the bloody crackdown there by security forces on protesters and appealed for "peace, dialogue and reconciliation."

U.S. President Barack Obama called on the Egyptian authorities to respect the universal rights of the people.

"We call on those who are protesting to do so peacefully and condemn the attacks that we've seen by protesters, including on churches.

"We believe that the state of emergency should be lifted, that a process of national reconciliation should begin, that all parties need to have a voice in Egypt's future, that the rights of women and religious minorities should be respected, and that commitments must be kept to pursue transparent reforms of the constitution and democratic elections."

Later Thursday, the U.N. Security Council urged all parties in Egypt to exercise maximum restraint.

The World Council of Churches general secretary Tveit, said, "The only way forward is for mutual recognition as equal citizens within Egypt, sharing responsibilities and authority, accepting the diversity of political opinions and religious beliefs."

The bloodbath was triggered after Egypt's military regime began a forceful clearance of two Cairo sit-ins where protesters were demanding the reinstatement of deposed Islamist president Mohamed Morsi who is backed by the Muslim Brotherhood, but was ousted by the military on July 3.

The Egyptian newspaper Ahram Online reported churches across Egypt came under frenzied attack Thursday as the country became convulsed in the violent turmoil.

This came after security forces forcibly broke up two major Cairo protest camps held by supporters of Morsi who was ousted by the military on July 3.

Ahram reported that Morsi loyalists launched nationwide assaults on Christian targets, wreaking havoc on churches, homes, and Christian-owned businesses throughout the country.

It quoted Coptic rights group the Maspero Youth Union (MYU) saying that as many as 36 churches were "completely" devastated by fire across nine Egyptian governorates.

The Christian Post quoted Bishop Angaelos, the Cairo-born head of the Coptic Orthodox Church in the United Kingdom, saying he had heard that 52 churches had been attacked.

The largest Christian community in the Middle East, Copts, account for about 10 percent of Egypt's 84 million people.

Their leader Pope Tawadros II initially spoke in support of the coup that ousted Morsi.

This followed the marginalization and increased attacks on Christians, but his support seemed to have exacerbated the situation for Egypt's Christians.

In a letter to the WCC member churches in Egypt the WCC's Tveit said, "Since 25 January 2011 Egypt has been experiencing a critical moment in its history.

Tveit noted, "The Egyptian people showed on different occasions their belief in a multi-religious and multi-cultural society where all parties join hands in facing the current challenges and building a better future based on social justice and human dignity.

"The World Council of Churches and its member churches are greatly concerned by the violent turn of events in Egypt and call for an immediate end of violence from all sides."

The WCC is a grouping of mainly Anglican, Orthodox and Protestant churches representing more than 500 million Christians. While the Roman Catholic Church is not a member, it serves of WCC bodies and works closely with it.

United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay noted comments of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon that violence and incitement from any side will not solve anything in Egypt.

"What is needed is genuinely inclusive reconciliation. I therefore appeal again to all sides to engage in urgent dialogue to avoid further violence and hate speech, with the aim of restoring constitutional order through free and democratic elections," she said from Geneva on Thursday.
