ASH WEDNESDAY

ASH WEDNESDAY

We hope you joined us for our Ash Wednesday Service on Wednesday, March 1st at 7 pm in the sanctuary. Ash Wednesday is the first day of the Lent season, and its name derives from the custom of marking the foreheads of worshippers with ashes that have been previously blessed. In the Old Testament, ashes were a sign of mourning and of penitence, and as we begin the season of Lent, the ashes remind us of our need to mourn our sin, and of our great need for God’s grace and for the cross.
