Still asking for signs and wonders? Read the Scriptures.

Many people today are still asking (despite all the evidence) God to show them a sign, to dazzle them so they can believe in Him; Others, pray for God to grant them a wish, to show them a miracle so they can "truly" believe that He exists.

The Lord through His Son Jesus Christ has provided us ample proof to show that He loves us; His Son died on a cross to save humanity from its assured damnation due to sin. The Holy Bible gives us all the proof we need to believe in Him; Then, to heed His invitation to be born again, repent and become a child of God.

46And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

47Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:

48He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

49But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.

The Lord's Apostles didn't fully understand what He had told them would happen. They went to the Lord's tomb, and wondered what had happened to His body. This shows that in spite of having seen, heard and walked with Jesus for 3 1/2 years; they never completely discerned the Lord's instructions.

There is a lesson to be learnt form this: We must not only understand the Scriptures, but, also live them in our deeds. We must comprehend His words, and recognize that every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God is the ultimate truth; which will come to pass without equivocations. His Word is Gospel Truth.

6Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie,

7And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself.

8Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the sepulchre, and he saw, and believed.

9For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead. John 20:6-9.

In the Parable of the Rich Man and the Leper, Jesus taught us that 'reiligiosity' without a change of heart is worthless; It will take us straight to hell, unless our profession corresponds with our actions. We can not believe the Holy Scriptures, if we don't treat our fellowman as we would have them treat us. The Jews had Moses and the Prophets, or the Old Testament to show them what Jehovah (JHVH) expected from His people. The Lord lead His people from Abraham until the birth of John the Baptist, through His Patriarchs, Prophets, and His Word the Old Testament; Yet, they constantly resisted, and rebelled against Him. When His Son Jesus came to dwell among the professed children of God, most of them, especially the High Priests, the Scribes, and the Pharisees, rejected Him, and sought to slay Him; Which they ultimately achieved; That's why Jesus in this parable states: They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. ; If they hear not Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

In the Parable, Jesus was foretelling their present unbelief, and also their future rejection after His death and Resurrection.

Have things changed any? Are we not all guilty of being just as rebellious as the rich man in Hades (hell)?

27Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:

28For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

29Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

30And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

31And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets,
neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
.....Luke 16:27-31.

Friends, brethren If we believe that He is? We must heed His warnings, take His advice, be converted and live according to His commandments. This is the only possible way to believe in Him; By doing His will.

We know that even the Apostles doubted what the Lord Jesus has told them would happen. Need we be like them? We who walk daily with Jesus; Need we also doubt His sure word of prophecy? Will we also ask: Where is His body? Where is His coming? He's not really coming soon?

Folks, we have the New Testament and the Old Testament to show us what the Lord wills for us; Need we anymore signs or wonders? Can we not see in the words of our Lord Jesus the truth? Do we need an extraterrestrial to come and tell you something we already know, so you can believe there is life in the universe? Our Savior Jesus was killed and lives! Isn't the Word of God sufficient?

We will see greater things than that which we can imagine when we see the Son of God coming in the clouds with thousands of angels in glory and majesty. Will you be ready to meet Him. Or. do you need more proof? I pray you read the Bible, and realize that the Lord means what He says. Don't you ever doubt Him.

He is coming, as the Scriptures say. Will you believe, and act accordingly?

Can you read the signs, and wonder, when? Maranatha.
