‘American kids grow up on culture of violence’

Sun Aug 5, 2012 1:41PM GMT

The culture of violence starts in the U.S. “with children at a very young age,” as almost all of the cartoons are “very violent”, says Saul Landau, vice chair of the Institute for Policy Studies.

“This is the culture that kids grow up on,” Landau told Press TV’s U.S. Desk on Saturday when asked where the culture of violence in the United States comes from.

He also said the U.S. past was full of violence, and the country has been involved in “a perpetual war since the end of WWII”.

For instance, he said, the U.S. bombed Iraq and Libya in the past and now it wants to bomb Iran and Syria, adding, “every time there is a problem abroad, somebody wants to go to a war”.
