What in the World

Introduction
When Henry Kissinger made his secret trip to China in 1971, the subject of the French Revolution came up during his negotiations with the Chinese Premier, Chou Enlai. The story is told that Kissinger asked Chou, “What effect the French Revolution has had upon the world?” - To which Chou reportedly replied, “It is too soon to tell.” Many historians have written similar sentiments about the impact of the French Revolution on the history of the world:
We are in no position as yet to measure the full impact of the French Revolution on the course of world history. It was one of those decisive events which opened the sluice-gate, and in the streams it released we are still swimming, sometimes finding it difficult to keep our head above the water. John McManners, The French Revolution and the Church, (London, S.P.C.K., 1969), Foreword.
The French Revolution is the most important event in the life of modern Europe… It brought on the stage of human affairs forces which have molded the thoughts and actions of men ever since, and have taken a permanent place among the formative influences of civilization. Cambridge Modern History, vol. 8, chap. 35, p. 754.
It is because of its world-wide impact that the French Revolution enters into Biblical prophecy. The Bible tells us where it came from, what it did, and what it is still doing in the world today.
From the Bottomless Pit
The origin of the French Revolution is from the bottomless pit. Because the papacy could not defeat the Two Witnesses and put out the light from the candlesticks, it was necessary for the enemy to bring in reinforcements, to continue the war against the Two witnesses and the woman who fled into the wilderness (see Rev. chapter 12):
When they shall have finished [are finishing] their testimony.” The period when the two witnesses were to prophesy clothed in sackcloth, ended in 1798. As they were approaching the termination of their work in obscurity, war was to be made upon them by the power represented as “the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit.” In many of the nations of Europe the powers that ruled in church and state had for centuries been controlled by Satan through the medium of the papacy. But here is brought to view a new manifestation of satanic power. GC 268.
It was necessary to bring in a new manifestation of satanic power, from the bottomless pit, because ‘the times were ‘a’changing.’ The world was emerging from the Dark Ages due to the influence, of the Enlightenment, the Renaissance, the Reformation, the invention of the printing press, Bible translations and the rise of an educated middle class. As a result, the power to persecute at the hands of the papacy began to decline. As the 1260 years of persecution and martyrdom was coming to a close, it was becoming politically incorrect to burn dissenters to death at the stake. Therefore, in order to continue what the papacy started, it was necessary to bring in ‘revolutionary atheism’ – which ideologically reflected the zeitgeist of the times - and the French Revolution was its first outing on the global chessboard.
The New Manifestation of Satanic Power
The ideology behind ‘the new manifestation of satanic power’ begins with the claim that mankind is not evil, but basically good. The reason why mankind, is capable of evil, is because mankind has been corrupted. The corruption comes from ‘civilization’ and the corrupting core of civilization is Christianity. Therefore, the way forward for mankind is to destroy civilization and its religion. When civilization and Christianity have been destroyed, mankind can finally do away with the ‘false promise’ of paradise in heaven, and mankind would be finally free to build its own ‘paradise on earth.’
Therefore, atheism would be the new ‘religion’ and the war against the Two Witnesses would continue with renews vigor, but with a different rational, a rational (philosophy/ideology) considered more ‘modern’ more in vogue with the age – in modern terms ‘an update’ – ‘a satanic update’ – over the years there would be further ‘updates’ manifesting itself as communism:
The communist movement would never have taken form as it did except for the prior occurrence of the French Revolution. Robert Roswell Palmer, The Age of the Democratic Revolution: A Political History of Europe and America, 1760–1800, pp. 11, 12.
The Coup d’état
The popular understanding of the French Revolution is that it was a ‘bottoms up’ protest, because the people were hungry and they had no bread – and the aristocracy were callous and indifferent (“let them eat cake” etc.), and therefore they suffered the rage of the people. However, in reality the French Revolution, was a ‘top down’ coup against the French Monarchy, instigated by Freemasonry, the Illuminati and the Jesuits. They were all in it together, because they considered they all had major grievances against the French Monarchy, going all the way back to the suppression of the Knights Templars in 1307.
One of Freemasonry’s most revered books is ‘Morals and Dogma,’ written by Albert Pike. Albert Pike was the leader of Freemasonry in America after the Civil War. The title page of the book contains this subtitle: ‘Prepared for the SUPREME COUNCIL of the THIRTY-THIRD DEGREE of the SOUTHERN JURISDICTION OF THE UNITED STATES and PUBLISHED BY ITS AUTHORITY.’ In addition, the same page, has the following, emblazoned on the bottom of the page: ESOTERIC BOOK, FOR SCOTTISH RITE USE ONLY; TO BE RETURNED UPON WITHDRAWAL OR DEATH OF RECIPIENET. In other words, the contents of the book are meant to be reserved to those who reach the upper echelon of Freemasonry, and it had to be kept secret and protected from all others, including the lower-level Freemasons – it was inside information, and only for the insiders. The book contains the following information about the French Revolution:
A lodge inaugurated, under the auspices of Rousseau the fanatic of Geneva became the centre of the revolutionary movement in France… Morals and Dogma of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Albert Pike, Sovereign Grand Commander of the Scottish Rite’s Southern Jurisdiction, p. 823.
The reference to ‘Rousseau the fanatic of Geneva’ is referring to Jean-Jacques Rousseau and his ideology. In calling Rousseau, a ‘fanatic’ Pike is commenting on Rousseau’s ‘enthusiasm’ for his ideas and philosophy, which included the creation of idealistic ‘utopias’ based on communistic principles. This Freemason lodge, that Pike refers to, was not frequented by the downtrodden masses, Pike tells us who the conspirators were:
The registers of the Order of Templars attest that the Regent, the Duc d’ Orleans, was Grand Master of that formidable Secret Society, and that his successors were the Duc de Maine, the Prince of Bourbon-Conde, and the Duc de Cosse-Brissac. Ibid, p. 823.
These members of the French aristocracy (the Duc d’ Orleans was the Kings own cousin – and sometimes referred to as ‘the Godfather of the Revolution), were the leaders of the Freemason plot and simultaneously the dupes of the Jesuits. They were willing to commit treachery against their own king and kin, because they were adherents of the new wave of philosophy – the so called ‘French Enlightenment’ - led by the ‘philosophes’ such as Rousseau, Voltaire and many others. This ‘enlightenment’ was supposedly going to usher in a grander, freer and happier society (i.e., communism), for the human race. This is why the French Revolution looked like a revolution, but it was really a coup disguised as a revolution. This ‘disguise’ enabled the true perpetrators to escape any recognition, any blame or any consequences, for their role. The blame therefore falls upon the nebulous masses and the this mythology was created and perpetuated – leaving the ‘new manifestation of satanic power’ remaining in the shadowy background. Pike continues his account of Freemasonry’s role in this coup by stating:
When Louis XVI was executed half the work was done and henceforward the Army of the Temple was to direct all its efforts against the Pope. Ibid, pp. 823, 824.
Here, Pike is revealing the twofold purpose of the coup. It was not just aimed against France but also the Papacy. Initially, it was a two-stroke revenge plot, but with broader implications for the future. Once the first phase against the French Monarchy was accomplished, ‘the Army of the Temple’ (being a reference for French troops under control of Freemasonry), entered Rome and abolished the office of the Pope (the Papacy):
In 1798 General Berthier made his entrance into Rome, abolished the papal government, and established a secular one. Encyclopedia Britannica, Article ‘French Revolution’ 1941 ed.
The entrance of the French army into Rome, and the ousting of the Pope from his office, and subsequent imprisonment in France, is considered by many Bible students to be the ‘deadly wound’ inflicted on the beast from the sea (see Rev. 13:3). Thus it was ‘the new manifestation of satanic power’ under the guise of the French Revolution that gave the papacy its ‘deadly wound’ and it became the instrumental power that enters Scripture as a fulfilment of prophecy.
Conclusion
The French Revolution came from the bottomless pit, and it was a new manifestation of satanic power that introduced revolutionary atheism into the world. It waged war against the Two Witnesses and will continue to do so, until the end of time, under its modern manifestation of communism.
It was the power that gave the papacy its deadly wound, but Scripture informs us that it will also play a role in the healing of the deadly wound. The healing of the deadly wound means that the papacy will be restored to its former power and influence in the world. In order to achieve that status again, it has to defeat the power that gave it the deadly wound. In other words, it has to defeat ‘the new manifestation of satanic power’ – it has to inflict a deadly wound on the power that gave it a deadly wound. This war for world-wide supremacy was foretold to Daniel:
And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over. Dan. 11:40.
The reference to the king of the south ‘pushing’ at the king of the north is referring to the ‘deadly wound’ inflicted upon the papacy by revolutionary atheism in 1798. However, this was just the beginning of the war between these two powers. The prophecy goes on to inform us that the king of the north will retaliate with great power and it will emerge as the victor – “And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practice and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people” (Dan. 8:24).
