America owes Mahmoud Khalil nothing

Pro-terrorist activist Mahmoud Khalil was asked by CNN the other day if he would condemn Hamas. He, of course, would not, calling the question “silly” and “disingenuous.” It is not “black and white,” he whined.

Even if you oppose Israel’s reaction to the Oct. 7, 2023, massacre, the answer is still black and white for any person with a conscience. Certainly, it should be for any person who wants to become a naturalized citizen of the United States. After all, Hamas is designated by the State Department as a terrorist organization for, among other things, murdering Americans.

But the fact that Khalil can’t condemn Hamas — and anyone paying attention understands that he supports the terrorist army — not only tells us that he deserves to be deported but also that it’s imperative we deport him.

During the 1960s and 1970s, immigration officials grilled newcomers to the U.S. and elsewhere about their affiliations with communist parties. Why would we import people who want to destroy our system? Newcomers were, and still are, compelled to disavow associations with illiberal movements, violent groups, and ideologies. They were also required to promise not to engage in any subversive or revolutionary activity.

Well, Khalil’s entire job as an “activist” is to engage in subversive or revolutionary activity.

Khalil is an Algerian, incidentally, not a Palestinian, though he is a champion of Palestinianism, one of the most nihilistic, bigoted, violent, anti-Western ideologies of the age. There’s no anti-American or Marxist protest or riot anywhere in the world these days where Palestinian flags are not prominent.

The French, of course, don’t need much impetus to riot. But protests that began over a lack of school funding a few weeks ago have now escalated into increasingly destructive and violent riots across France, clearly fueled in part by Marxist pro-Palestinian elements. The red-green alliance between Islamists and communists isn’t new — it’s just more popular than ever. France has over 5 million Muslims.

What you see happening on the streets of Paris is exactly what Khalil hopes to see in the U.S. We saw as much when he was the lead “negotiator” for Columbia University Apartheid Divest, which rioted at the school in 2025. The group’s goal is to fight for the “total eradication of Western civilization,” “global intifada,” and the “armed resistance” of Hamas. That doesn’t sound very American.

Khalil’s friend, Mohsen Mahdawi, another leader of CUAD fighting against deportation, reportedly has a propensity to make Hamas-like statements, such as “I like to kill Jews,” “soon, very soon, we will annihilate the Jews,” and that “servants of the Jews or the Americans” will have their heads “cut off.” Would we give citizenship to a foreigner who said, “I like to kill blacks” or “I like to kill Christians”? I hope not.

Khalil is being deported for lying on his application, though he was initially picked up by Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers for threatening U.S. foreign policy. These deportations should not be treated as a matter of botched paperwork but as a matter of national security.

Democratic Socialist New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has reportedly granted roughly 200 social media influencers special access to City Hall news and videos through Signal — a messaging app, according to a new report.

Signal includes a disappearing-messages setting that automatically deletes texts after a set time. Because it is unknown if Mayor Mamdani’s (D-N.Y.) group uses this feature, critics are questioning whether the administration is following city rules about keeping public records.

According to an August report from Columbia Journalism Review, influencers receive city information through an encrypted Signal chat named “NYC Creators Announcements.”

The Signal chat reportedly grew out of Creators4Zohran — a group that backed Mamdani’s 2025 mayoral campaign, making him the first socialist mayor of United States’ most populous city.

When asked whether the use of Signal could potentially violate city laws, Mamdani insisted that his office will “strive to fully comply with all legal requirements.”

The cost of Zohran

Mayor Mamdani’s policies are guaranteed to wreck New York City

Heather Mac Donald

William F. Buckley Jr. once quipped that he would rather be governed by the first 2,000 names in the Boston phone book than by the Harvard faculty. New York City is about to be governed by the Columbia University student body. A city that used to think of itself as grown up has just elected a mayor who seems the very embodiment of the American college student: uninformed, entitled and self-important, enjoying a regal quality of life that depends parasitically upon a civilization about which he knows nothing, yet for which he has nothing but scorn.

American college students regularly act out little psychodramas of oppression before an appreciative audience of diversity deanlets and associate vice-provosts of inclusion and belonging. Zohran Mamdani, the quintessential product of the academy, is poised to take such performative grievance to one of the biggest stages in the world. The results will not be pretty.

Mamdani’s governing agenda reflects his family background, education and negligible post-college career. Now 34, he was born in 1991 to a professor of postcolonial studies and a filmmaker. The family moved to New York City from Uganda in 1999 so that Mamdani’s father, Mahmood, could teach in Columbia University’s Middle Eastern, South Asian and African Studies Department and direct the university’s Institute of African Studies. The young Mamdani imbibed academic anti-westernism at the family dinner table, which hosted such leading lights of postcolonial studies as Columbia’s Edward Said and Rashid Khalidi.

Mamdani fashions himself a champion of the working class. He chose not to attend New York’s most storied working-class college, the public City College of New York (then $6,330 a year), however, in favor of the private Bowdoin College, a bucolic, secluded retreat in Maine (then $59,900 a year). The centuries-old New England institution grew out of the finest ideals of America’s Founders; it boasts Nathaniel Hawthorne, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, US president Franklin Pierce, Supreme Court justices, decorated Civil War generals, abolitionists and industrialists among its graduates.

NEED TO KNOW
  • Zohran Mamdani was born in 1991 to dad Mahmood Mamdani, a professor, and Mira Nair, a filmmaker
  • Zohran's parents raised him in Uganda and South Africa before their family relocated to New York City in 1999
  • Zohran is now the Democratic nominee for New York mayor, and Mahmood and Mira have spoken out in support of their son
Zohran Mamdani’s parents, Mahmood Mamdani and Mira Nair, influenced his political beliefs.

Mahmood is a professor of government and anthropology at Columbia University, and Mira is an Oscar-nominated filmmaker who focuses largely on South Asian and Indian stories. The couple met in the late 1980s in Uganda and welcomed their son in 1991. The family lived in Africa for nearly a decade before moving to New York when Zohran was 7 years old.

The New York City mayoral candidate's views have been shaped by his upbringing, from witnessing his father’s career in academia and watching his mother’s movies, which often showcase overlooked perspectives.

Zohran told City & State in April 2023 that he spent time as a child attending rallies and marches with his parents, including protests over the Iraq war and Marxist lectures.

“When you’re the kid of two parents who are very involved in social justice, a lot of times what you remember as a playdate was you being at some rally or some march,” he said.

Here's everything to know about Zohran Mamdani’s parents, Mahmood Mamdani and Mira Nair.

Part II ~ All Roads Still Lead to Rome ~ Roman Origins of the United States.

Very, very few people of the United States know why our Federal Government is name the "District of Columbia". A district, like District Attorney, is a subset of a greater whole.

So what greater whole is the District of Columbia a part of that has the President, the Congress and the Supreme Court under it's jurisdiction??

....and why the name Columbia, if it wasn't named after C. Columbus like most assume. The answers should be very disturbing to all who think we are free sovereign beings, we are .anything but
