Seven Events Evangelicals Incorrectly Believe Will be Fulfilled in the Endtime

November 28, 2023

My friend Luke shared the below with me. If you study Eschatology from the Bible, you should know that the following doctrines most evangelicals hold to be true are based on a false interpretation of Daniel 9:27, namely, the Antichrist will make a treaty with the Jews and Israel for a 7-year period during which he will allow the Jews to rebuild the temple of Solomon. Please know that this doctrine was created by a Jesuit priest circa 1585, and was rejected by Protestants until sometime in the 19th century through Jesuit infiltration into Protestant churches and seminaries. It began when Darby and Scofield taught dispensationalism. The purpose was to sidetrack Protestantism and to get the Protestants’ eyes off the Pope and the Papacy as the true Antichrist of the Bible. Did it work? You know it did!

I was asked to give confirming Scriptures for all these points. Normally verses are given to teach a doctrine. In this case, I will show how Daniel 9:27 was incorrectly interpreted to support popular but false Endtime doctrines.

My comments of Daniel 9:27 in parenthesis show what Protestants up to the beginning of the 19th century used to teach and believe.
"
And he (Jesus Christ) shall confirm (not make) the (definite article) covenant (the Covenant God made with Abraham, not a treaty as modern translations say) with many (Jews) for one week (seven years): and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease (when Jesus was crucified 3 1/2 years after He began His ministry, He became the ultimate sacrifice for sin which ended the need for animal sacrifice. The second 3 1/2 year period was the ministry of the Apostles to the Jews up to the stoning of Stephen and the calling of Paul to give the Gospel to the Gentiles.), and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. (The destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple 40 years later.) — Daniel 9:27
"
  1. There is no seven-year countdown to Armageddon – prophesied in the Bible. The Scripture used to support a final 7 years is Daniel 9:27: And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week… Protestant Christians up to the 19th century used to teach the seven-year confirmation of the Covenant was fulfilled in Christ and His Apostles up to the stoning of Stephen.
  2. There is no Antichrist seven-year Middle East peace covenant – prophesied in the Bible. The Scripture used to support a Middle East peace covenant is Daniel 9:27: And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week… Protestant Christians up to the 19th century used to teach the Covenant is the same Covenant of Daniel 9:4, namely the Covenant that God made with Abraham.
  3. There is no rebuilt Jewish temple in Jerusalem as a result of a seven-year peace covenant – prophesied in the Bible. Protestant Christians up to the 19th century never taught the Temple would be rebuilt! The idea it will be rebuilt is pure speculation and a wrong interpretation of “and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, ”
  4. There is no Antichrist that is going to make or break a seven-year peace covenant – prophesied in the Bible. Protestant Christians up to the 19th century used to teach the “he” of Daniel 9:27 is Jesus, not the Antichrist
  5. There is no Antichrist that is going to stop the Jews from sacrificing in the middle of a seven-year peace covenant – prophesied in the Bible. Protestant Christians up to the 19th century never taught that! Part of Daniel 11:31 is used to support this, “and shall take away the daily sacrifice“, but history says it was fulfilled by Antiochus Epiphanes in 168 BC when he set up an altar to the pagan god Zeus in the very temple of God at Jerusalem.
  6. There is no Antichrist that is going to sit in a rebuilt Jewish Temple in the middle of a seven-year peace covenant – prophesied in the Bible. Protestant Christians up to the 19th century never taught this. The idea of a rebuilt Temple of Solomon is pure speculation based on the reasoning: “How can the Antichrist stop the Daily Sacrifice when the Daily Sacrifice can only be performed in the Temple? Therefore, the Temple must be rebuilt for the Daily Sacrifice to be resumed in order for the Antichrist to stop it!” This type of interpretation is called eisegesis, or a reading into Scripture something that is not there.
  7. There is no Antichrist that is going to declare himself to be god in the middle of a seven-year peace covenant – prophesied in the Bible. This idea came from the wrong interpretation of 2 Thessalonians 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. Protestant Christians up to the 19th century used to teach this Scripture is fulfilled by the Popes of Rome. The “temple of God” is the Church, according to the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? The Popes claim to be God / Christ on earth.

Exergesis vs Eisergesis of Interpretation of Bible Prophecy

April 7, 2018 James Arendt

Did you know that most evangelicals today believe interpretations of the prophecies of Daniel, Matthew 24, and the Book of Revelation that are based not on what the Bible says, but what John Nelson Darby (18 November 1800 – 29 April 1882) and C.I. Scofield (August 19, 1843 – July 24, 1921) says it means?

Scofield’s Endtime teaching is based on Darby’s teaching. Darby read into Bible prophecy stuff that is not there! Sound Bible prophecy interpretation should be based on what is called, “exegesis” which comes from Greek and it means “to lead out”. Exegesis means to interpret a text by way of a thorough analysis of its content. In other words, we should stick with what the Bible says it says and not insert our own ideas based on assumptions.

John Nelson Darby, C.I. Scofield, and most modern Bible prophecy interpreters have have used a method of interpretation called, “eisegesis” which is the process of interpreting a text or portion of text in such a way that the process introduces one’s own presuppositions, agendas, or biases into and onto the text. This is commonly referred to as reading into the text.

Let me give you examples of eisegesis:
The 70th Week of Daniel being ripped off from the first 69 weeks and thrown into the future.
The “he” of Daniel 9:27 interpreted as the Antichrist.
The word “confirm” of the KJV changed to “make” in modern translations.
The “covenant” interpreted as something the Antichrist will make with the Jews in the Endtime. It is also called “treaty” in some modern Bible translations.
The “one week” interpreted as the last 7 years of Satan’s reign through the Antichrist.
“He shall cause the sacrifice and oblation to cease” interpreted as the Antichrist breaking the covenant with the Jews, stopping all animal sacrifice, and declaring himself to be God.

Gay Vote Proved a Boon for Obama

Joshua Lott for The New York Times
A gay pride parade in Chicago in June. President Obama had more than a three-to-one edge among gay voters, exit polls found.

While President Obama’s lopsided support among Latino and other minority voters has been a focus of postelection analysis, the overwhelming support he received from another growing demographic group — Americans who identify as gay, lesbian or bisexual — has received much less attention.

But the backing Mr. Obama received from gay voters also has a claim on having been decisive. Mitt Romneyand Mr. Obama won roughly an equal share of votes among straight voters nationwide, exit polls showed. And, a study argues, Mr. Romney appears to have won a narrow victory among straight voters in the swing states of Ohio and Florida.

Mr. Obama’s more than three-to-one edge in exit polls among the 5 percent of voters who identified themselves as gay, lesbian or bisexual was more than enough to give him the ultimate advantage, according to the study, by Gary J. Gates of the Williams Institute at the U.C.L.A. School of Law, in conjunction with Gallup. The results are consistent with earlier research on the number and political beliefs of gay voters.

Democrats have been winning big over Republicans among gay voters, African-Americans, Latinos, Asian-Americansand Jews. Some of the groups are relatively small, but together they make up about one-third of the electorate, forcing Republicans to capture much of the remaining two-thirds to win elections. By comparison, white evangelical voters, who vote overwhelmingly for Republicans, make up about one-fourth of the electorate, and their numbers are not growing as rapidly.

As with Latinos and Asian-Americans, the number of voters who say they are gay appears to be growing. Only 1.9 percent of Americans over 65 call themselves gay, lesbian or bisexual, according to the Gallup survey, while 3.2 percent of those between 30 and 49, and 6.4 percent of those between 18 and 29 do.

“In the younger population, there is a much wider range in the geography and ethnicity of those who are identifying as L.G.B.T.,” Dr. Gates said, using a common term for lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender. That range now extends well beyond major cities and into multiple swing states.

As Republicans plan to reach out to Hispanics and Asian-Americans, another question is whether they would also help themselves by improving their standing among gay voters. Some analysts say Republicans should try to do so, in part to win over moderate straight voters, while others see any such effort as having more risk than upside.

Research by Patrick J. Egan, a professor of politics and public policy at New York University, suggests that gay voters may prove difficult to bring into the Republican tent. Many of them “aren’t swingable because they have liberal positions on a whole bunch of issues besides gay rights,” Dr. Egan said.

Exit polls showed that 76 percent of voters who identified as gay supported Mr. Obama last week, and that 22 percent supported Mr. Romney. Among straight people, each candidate received 49 percent of the vote.

If Republican candidates move to the center on gay rights, they might also risk losing support among cultural conservatives.

“I think it would be a mistake for the party to abandon its moral values,” said J. Hogan Gidley, the national communications director for Rick Santorum’s 2012 presidential run. Instead, Mr. Gidley said, the Republican Party’s low levels of support among gay voters can be outweighed by better messaging to other voters, particularly about same-sex marriage.

“We’ve lost the buzzword battle,” Mr. Gidley said, “that marriage is a ‘right.’ ”

Other Republican strategists, however, say that their party’s stances on social issues like marriage are alienating straight voters, too.

Public support for same-sex marriage and civil unions has climbed steadily since 2004. Recent polls show that support for same-sex marriage now outweighs opposition to it. Surveys by the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life have shown that women andyounger people support same-sex marriage at substantially higher rates than do men and older voters.

“We have a very good message, a good plan,” said R. Clarke Cooper, the executive director of the Log Cabin Republicans, a group that pushes for gay rights, referring to the Republican Party’s small-government agenda. “But it’s been drowned out by the cacophony and the noise that is perceived as anti-immigrant, or anti-L.G.B.T., or anti-women.”

While polls show that a large majority of Republicans oppose same-sex marriage, there are small signs of a shift in tone among Republican officeholders. When Mr. Obamaendorsed same-sex marriage in May, the response from Republican leaders was relatively muted.

Republicans in Congress “will tell me behind closed doors that this is the direction we need to go as a party,” Mr. Cooper said, “but publicly they’re not doing that.”

If the Republican Party does not make inroads among gay voters along with other minority groups, he said, the party risks going the way of the Whigs or becoming a regional party.

Mr. Romney’s loss, Mr. Cooper said, is a sign that broadening the party’s appeal is imperative. “There’s nothing fun about saying ‘I told you so,’ ” he added.

Israel and the Forbidden Prophecy

Cosmic Collision Course
________________________________________________________________________

Israel and the Forbidden Prophecy

Ancient Rabbis and Daniel's Seventy Weeks
In the 12th Century A.D., Rabbi Moses Ben Maimon (Maimonides), one of the most respected rabbis in history, and a man who rejected the messianic claims of Jesus of Nazareth, said regarding Daniel's seventy weeks prophecy:
"Daniel has elucidated to us the knowledge of the end times. However, since they are secret, the wise (rabbis) have barred the calculation of the days of Messiah's coming so that the untutored populace will not be led astray when they see that the End Times have already come but there is no sign of the Messiah" (Emphasis added). Igeret Teiman, Chapter 3 p.24.
Finally, Rabbi Moses Abraham Levi said regarding the time of Messiah's coming:
"I have examined and searched all the Holy Scriptures and have not found the time for the coming of Messiah clearly fixed, except in the words of Gabriel to the prophet Daniel, which are written in the 9th chapter of the prophecy of Daniel"
The Messiah of the Targums, Talmuds and Rabbinical Writers, 1971.

THE SEVENTY WEEKS PROPHECY OF DANIEL 9:24-27

Dan 9:24
"SEVENTY WEEKS ARE DETERMINED UPON YOUR PEOPLE" King James Bible.
"Seventy weeks of years are fixed for your people..." Moffat Bible Translation.
"Seven times seventy years..." Good News Bible.
"Seventy weeks of years are decreed concerning your people..." Revised Standard Version.

A PERIOD OF 490 YEARS IS HERE APPORTIONED TO THE JEWISH PEOPLE.

A Day in Symbolic Prophecy Represents a Year: Numbers 14:34; Ezekiel 4:6 The Day-for-a-Year principle in symbolic prophecy has been understood by Bible scholars from the earliest centuries, and is testified to by the above translations.
It is confirmed to be accurate by the dramatic fulfilment of the 70-week prophecy.

"To Finish Transgression, to Make an End of Sins, to Make Reconciliation for Iniquity" The Messiah would bring an end to the reign of sin (Rom 8:3). Here is predicted that sometime before the end of the seventy weeks, a full atonement, a putting away of sin, would be made. This was accomplished by Christ.

Hebrews 9:26
Christ "put away" sin, or put an end to sin's power, by his sacrifice.
Romans 5. 10,11
Reconciled to God by the sacrifice of Jesus the Messiah.
(See also 2 Cor 5:18, Heb 2:17)

"Bring in Everlasting Righteousness''
Righteousness means being in right relationship with the true God. The Hebrew writers of the New Testament declared that this was only achieved by faith in Jesus Christ the Messiah. (See Rom 3:22, Phil 3:9, etc..)

"To Seal Up the Vision and Prophecy" "To ratify the prophetic vision" Moffat.
The accuracy of the prophecy would be confirmed at the end of the time period when all the details of the vision were to be fulfilled.

"To anoint the Most Holy"
The words used here describe the Hebrew sanctuary. Exodus 30:22-30 describe the work of anointing, or consecrating the sanctuary before its use. In Daniel, the anointing of the sanctuary does not refer to the Hebrew sanctuary, which was an "example and shadow of heavenly things" (Heb 8:5), a "figure for the time then present" (Heb 9:9), and was simply the "patterns of things in the heavens" (Heb 9-23). This anointing of a sanctuary refers to the great original, the heavenly sanctuary of which the earthly was just a type (Heb 8:2).

Christ entered the heavenly sanctuary at his ascension (Heb 8:2), and became our High Priest who intercedes in our behalf (Heb 4: 14- 16). The anointing of the Most Holy therefore refers to the beginning of Christ’s priestly intercession.

Dan 9:25
THE STARTING DATE.
From the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Messiah would be a period of three weeks of years plus sixty two weeks of years. A total of 483 years until the Messiah.

Ezra 7:7-28
The decree is recorded in full in verses 12-26. "The seventh year of Artaxerxes the king."

Any history book records that this Persian king (Artaxerxes Longimanus) began his reign in 464 BC. The seventh year is therefore 457 BC. From 457 BC we count 483 years until the Messiah appears – the year 27 AD. In 27 AD the Messiah is to appear in history.

Luke 11. 21-22
Jesus Christ was baptised in the river Jordan by John the Baptist. He was at this time "anointed" as the Messiah, and began his 3 1/2 year ministry. The year was AD 27. The 15th year of Tiberius was AD 27 according to Jewish reckoning.

Luke 4:16-18; Acts 10:37,38
Christ was "anointed" by the Holy Spirit at his baptism.

Mark 1: 15
After Christ was baptised he proclaimed "The time is fulfilled.'' Daniel’s prophecy predicting the year of the Messiah had been fulfilled.

Dan 9:26
Messiah was to be cut off during the last week of years. Between 27 AD and 34 AD.

Dan 9:2
In the midst of the week, or in 31 AD, the Messiah would die, bringing to end the ceremonial sacrifices that pointed to him as the true Lamb of God (John 1:29).

Matthew 27-50,51
When Christ died on the cross the veil in the temple was ripped in two revealing that the Jewish sacrificial system was now obsolete. Christ the true Sacrifice had died bringing an end to the significance of the ceremonial system.

Romans 5:6; John 7:28-30; 13:1
CHRIST DIED EXACTLY ON TIME.

Acts 7:51 ; 8:4
At the end of the 490 years, in 34 AD the gospel was taken to the Gentiles. Paul became the Apostle to the Gentile (non-Jewish) world. The Jews probationary period of 490 years was over. No longer were they God's chosen nation.

Galatians 3:29; Romans 2:28,29
Christians are today "spiritual" Jews, chosen by God to take the gospel to the world. The purpose of God for the Jewish nation came to an end in AD 34.
