Terrorist lecture at UC Berkeley — symptom of a much bigger problem

By Tammi Rossman-Benjamin

Published April 24, 2026, 5:43 p.m. ET

A recent event hosted by students at UC Berkeley’s law school drew national criticism after featuring Israa Jaabis, a failed Palestinian suicide bomber released from Israeli prison in November 2023 as part of the hostage-prisoner exchange following Hamas’s Oct. 7 attack.

Berkeley’s response was to invoke free speech, insisting that the university must remain content-neutral toward protected expression.

But the deeper threat to academic freedom at Berkeley is not a single student-sponsored event. It is the conduct of faculty who are using departments, speaker series, official academic programming, and university authority to turn anti-Israel activism into institutional practice.

That conduct was recently on display in UC Berkeley’s Rhetoric Department, which sponsored a talk titled “Anti-Zionism Is Not a Luxury.” The event was promoted as one that “articulates and embraces an affirmative anti-Zionism,” calls for “the end of a Zionist world,” and presents anti-Zionism as “a vital necessity of existence.”

A recent event hosted by students at UC Berkeley’s law school drew national criticism after featuring Israa Jaabis, a failed Palestinian suicide bomber released from Israeli prison in November 2023 as part of the hostage-prisoner exchange following Hamas’s October 7 attack.

Nor was it a one-off for the Rhetoric Department. Since Oct. 7, 2023, it has sponsored or co-sponsored more than a dozen similarly one-sided anti-Israel events, raising an obvious question: Why would a rhetoric department become a reliable sponsor of activist programming?

The answer lies in the political commitments of the department’s members. Half of Berkeley rhetoric’s faculty, including the chair and other senior leaders, signed a statement issued just days after Hamas’ attack on Israel that openly took sides in the war — declaring solidarity “without hesitation” with those “who fight for justice in Palestine,” endorsing an academic boycott of Israeli universities, and omitting any mention of Hamas’ massacre of Israeli civilians.

The Rhetoric Department is far from unique. According to recent research, from fall 2023 through spring 2025, 34 Berkeley departments sponsored or co-sponsored 40 Israel-related events with an anti-Israel bias, and none without.

The pattern is unmistakable: The 10 Berkeley departments that sponsored the most anti-Israel events were all led by faculty who had publicly backed an academic boycott of Israel.

These aren’t random student groups organizing protests. These are professors using their institutional authority to advance a political agenda.

Islamophobia training cancelled over teachers’ ‘anti-Semitic’ posts

Academic speakers at event for psychotherapists compared Zionists to fascists and accused Israel of ‘genocide’ on social media

A training session for psychotherapists on tackling Islamophobia was cancelled after three academics leading the event were accused of posting anti-Semitic material on social media.

Messages posted or shared by the trainers on X described Israel as a Nazi state and referred to “a Zionism problem” in healthcare institutions.

The event, organised by the professional body for psychotherapists, had been intended to help therapists and wellbeing practitioners become aware of the impact of Islamophobia on mental health.

But the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) cancelled the session after complaints about the three trainers prompted an internal investigation into their social media activities.

The speakers at the May 15 event were to have been Ghazala Mir, a professor of health equity and inclusion at the University of Leeds; Dr Tarek Younis, senior lecturer in psychology at Middlesex University, and Prof Ahmed Hankir, a consultant psychiatrist and visiting professor at the University of Cardiff.

Controversial US pastors to take part in embassy opening in Jerusalem

By Matt Korade, Kevin Bohn and Daniel Burke

Updated 10:12 PM ET, Sun May 13, 2018

(CNN)Monday's ceremony marking the relocation of the US Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem will break with tradition in more ways than one.

Besides the political concerns over the move itself, a pair of Christian evangelical leaders will be on hand whose words have caused their own share of controversy.

Pastor John Hagee, the founder of Christians United for Israel, will deliver the benediction at the ceremony, a spokesman for his organization confirmed to CNN. A major proponent of the embassy move, Hagee said in a recent interview with conservative news site Breitbart that he told President Donald Trump he would win "political immortality" for moving the embassy from Tel Aviv.

"I told him that the moment that you do that, I believe that you will step into political immortality," the news site quoted Hagee as saying. "Because you are having the courage to do what other presidents did not have the courage to do."

Meanwhile, another controversial evangelical pastor, Robert Jeffress, will say a prayer at the embassy opening, a US official confirmed to CNN. Jeffress, a Southern Baptist, vigorously supported Trump during the final months of the 2016 presidential campaign and was a member of his evangelical advisory board. He even preached at a private service for the President-elect and his family on Inauguration Day in 2017, shortly before Trump took the oath of office.

The embassy's relocation formally breaks from decades of established American policy and international practice in a move US officials say will create greater regional stability. Critics, however, say the decision to recognize Jerusalem as the Israeli capital could make a region already struggling with four ongoing conflicts all the more combustible. And they argue it marks the end of the US role as an "honest broker" in Israeli-Palestinian negotiations.

The universal manifestation of the pure doctrine of Lucifer

*

"The Third World War must be fomented by taking advantage of the differences caused by the "agentur" of the "Illuminati" between the political Zionists and the leaders of Islamic World. The war must be conducted in such a way that Islam (the Moslem Arabic World) and political Zionism (the State of Israel) mutually destroy each other. Meanwhile the other nations, once more divided on this issue will be constrained to fight to the point of complete physical, moral, spiritual and economical exhaustion…We shall unleash the Nihilists and the atheists, and we shall provoke a formidable social cataclysm which in all its horror will show clearly to the nations the effect of absolute atheism, origin of savagery and of the most bloody turmoil. Then everywhere, the citizens, obliged to defend themselves against the world minority of revolutionaries, will exterminate those destroyers of civilization, and the multitude, disillusioned with Christianity, whose deistic spirits will from that moment be without compass or direction, anxious for an ideal, but without knowing where to render its adoration, will receive the true light through the universal manifestation of the pure doctrine of Lucifer, brought finally out in the public view. This manifestation will result from the general reactionary movement which will follow the destruction of Christianity and atheism, both conquered and exterminated at the same time."

Examining America’s First Foray into the Middle East (REVIEW)

At the turn of the 21st century through today, American involvement in Middle Eastern politics runs through the Central Intelligence Agency.

In America’s Great Game: The CIA’s Secret Arabists and the Shaping of the Modern Middle East, historian Hugh Wilford shows this has always been the case.

Wilford methodically traces the lives and work of the agency’s three most prominent officers in the Middle East: Kermit “Kim” Roosevelt was the grandson of president Theodore Roosevelt, and the first head of CIA covert action in the region; his cousin, Archie Roosevelt, was a Middle East scholar and chief of the Beirut station; while Miles Copeland was a covert operations specialist who joined the American intelligence enterprise during World War II.

Skillfully drawing on personal papers, autobiographies and other primary sources, Wilford illustrates the diplomatic history that created America’s Great Game. More importantly, he underscores the political and ideological dogmas of these individuals – specifically, the rabidly pro-Arab and anti-Zionist views that shaped the CIA in its early years.

The CIA was created in 1947 and drew on the remains of the wartime Office of Strategic Services, which had been dissolved in 1945. Leaders of the new CIA were drawn from OSS veterans, but they were also members of a fading patrician class of American Protestants – with deep ties to elite universities like Harvard and Yale, and to missionaries with connections throughout the Middle East.

Navigating the organizational labyrinth of American bureaucracy was easier with family and social ties like that of the Roosevelts. Moreover, controlling the CIA’s Middle East agenda – opposing Zionism and Communism, supporting Arab regimes in its early years – was made possible by connecting the agency to outside groups, through what today would be called “astro-turfing.”

In 1948, Roosevelt and leading anti-Zionist Virginia Gildersleeve, a former dean of Barnard College, had formed the Committee for Justice and Peace in the Holy Land, which warned that “extreme Zionist pressure” was in “danger of disruption of our national unity and encouraging anti-Semitism.” The group worked in close coordination with the anti-Zionist American Council for Judaism, and with State Department officials.

Roosevelt kept forming anti-Israel groups, such as 1949′s Holy Land Christian Committee, ostensibly to assist Christians in Israel. Careful to include anti-Zionist Jews, “HELP” featured Lessing J. Rosenwald, former chairman of the board of Sears and Roebuck and onetime president of the American Council for Judaism; and Allen Dulles, a former State Department and OSS official and future director of the CIA. HELP was directed by CIA employee William A. Eddy, a former US minister plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and consultant to Aramco.

In its press releases, HELP warned that “lasting peace is not possible until relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction are effected,” and that the “hundreds of thousands of starving, sick and shelterless create a fertile field for Communist intrigue.”

As Bronson Clark of the American Friends Service Committee, then doing refugee relief work in Gaza, noted after a meeting with HELP: “This body, composed entirely of pro-Arab, anti-Zionist elements, was not to be an operating agency but was to serve as a publicity front for the operating agencies.

“This meeting represents another move in a series of moves which, like an iceberg, show only one-quarter on the surface what goes on, while three-quarters of the maneuverings are hidden.”

Finally, in 1951, Roosevelt – together with two dozen pro-Arab American educators, theologians and writers, including Gildersleeve and Harry Emerson Fosdick – founded an anti-Zionist group called American Friends of the Middle East (AFME). It was Roosevelt who used his role at the CIA to ensure the organization would fund the group through the CIA and Aramco.

It was through groups like the AFME and anti-Zionist activists like Rabbi Elmer Berger, a leader of the American Council for Judaism, that the Roosevelts were able to shape the CIA’s prism of the Middle East. With Kim Roosevelt’s blessing, the AFME led the way in educating policy- makers, journalists and others as to the Middle Eastern “reality” – which coincided with their political biases.

As Wilford writes, “In December 1958, AFME drafted a pamphlet, ‘Story of a Purpose,’ which eloquently articulated the group’s founding values: sympathy towards Arab nationalism and the drive toward Arab unity, rejection of the last vestiges of colonialism and imperialism, and the belief that the Palestine Question is the very heart of the Middle East problems, requiring a US policy of friendly and sympathetic impartiality.”

The AFME organization still exists today as AMIDEAST, “a leading American nonprofit organization engaged in international education, training and development activities in the Middle East and North Africa.”

Wilford’s historical account helps explain how modern NGOs’ evergreen anti-Zionist views remain cornerstones today, along with the convenient core belief that all Middle East problems reside in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Characterizing the American Israel Public Affairs Committee and other Zionist groups as the center of a nefarious “Israel lobby” is also not new.

Times may have changed, but the seeds of the Great Game laid out by the CIA Arabists remain visible today.

World War Three and Albert Pike

World War Three is to be fomented by using the differences the agentur of the Illuminati stir up between Political Zionists and the leaders of the Moslem world. The war is to be directed in such a manner that Islam (the Arab World including Mohammedanism) and Political Zionism (including the State of Israel) will destroy themselves while at the same time the remaining nations, once more divided against each other on this issue, will be forced to fight themselves into a state of complete exhaustion physically, mentally, spiritually and economically. Can any unbiased and reasoning person deny that the intrigue now going on in the Near, Middle, and Far East is designed to accomplish this devilish purpose?

After World War Three is ended, those who aspire to undisputed world domination will provoke the greatest social cataclysm the world has ever known. We quote his own written words taken from the letter catalogued in the British Museum Library, London, England.

"We shall unleash the Nihilists and Atheists, and we shall provoke a formidable social cataclysm which in all its horror will show clearly to the nations the effect of absolute atheism, origin of savagery and of the most bloody turmoil. Then everywhere, the citizens, obliged to defend themselves against the world minority of revolutionaries, will exterminate those destroyers of civilization, and the multitude, disillusioned with Christianity, whose deistic spirits will be from that moment without compass (direction), anxious for an ideal, but with out knowing where to render its adoration, will receive the true light through the universal manifestation of the pure doctrine of Lucifer, brought finally out in the public view, a manifestation which will result from the general reactionary movement which will follow the destruction of Christianity and atheism, both conquered and exterminated at the same time" (William Guy Carr, Pawns in the Game, p. xv-xvi).

This strategy is corroborated by Dr. Dennis L. Cuddy PhD. in The Power Elite's use of Wars and Crises. pike.htm

Viewers will be surprised to discover the origin of the Jews and the state of Israel. This DVD concludes the study of Daniel 11 and prepares the way for the modern fulfillment of these prophecies.

P.S.
A minor observation:

Correction: At 4:47 Min. of the lecture, Prof. Veith states that 'The Children of Ammon are descendants of Abraham from the other marriage.'

WRONG!

In Fact: The chilrden of Ammon are descendants of LOT through his younger daughter (INCEST).

And the younger, she also bare a son, and called his name Benammi: the same is the father of the children of Ammon unto this day. -Genesis 19:38..

CAN ZIONISM BE CHRISTIAN?

CAN ZIONISM BE CHRISTIAN?

The idea that Jews do not need the Gospel or conversion is sometimes subsumed under the title, “Christian Zionism,” although the designation can simply mean Christians who support Israel. The term “Christian Zionism” ends up being like Silly Putty. Each person makes what they wish out of it.

One must realize that the term Christian Zionist can cover a wide range of beliefs. Elwood McQuaid articulates the most benign and simplistic view this way:

“At its root, Zionism simply means a commitment to the inherent right of the Jewish people to have an internationally recognized homeland in the Middle East — the place referred to by Jews today as ‘Eretz Israel.’ Whether or not people consciously utter the word about themselves, if they accept the concept of a biblically endorsed Jewish right to the land, they are Zionists.”19

But there was a so-called Christian Zionism (which said Jews do not need Jesus or the New Covenant), championed in the 1970s by Franklin Littell in his book, The Crucifixion of the Jews. Littell went so far as to classify any who do not see Israel as the suffering servant redeemed under the Old Covenant alone, guilty of “theological Antisemitism”20 and “major sin.”21 And he labels dissenters of his view as nothing more than “heretics and apostates” and “illegitimate rather than authentic expressions of Christian preaching and teaching.”22 It is unfortunate that Littell was able to argue from the anti-semitic statements and ideas of Reformer Martin Luther.

Littell also summarized succinctly the core of this strain of Christian Zionism, reprinting the statement released by an ecumenical council in 1973. The pertinent sentences include:

“The singular grace of Jesus Christ does not abrogate the covenantal relationship of God with Israel (Romans 11:1-2). In Christ the Church shares in Israel’s election without superseding it.”23

In a very strange twist, the man most responsible for popularizing the “Two Covenant” view (in the 1920s and 1930s) was a Jewish thinker and author named Franz Rosenzweig. Much like Hagee does today, Rosenzweig attempted to create a rationale for not evangelizing Jews while leaving intact the viability, authenticity and acceptability of both Judaism and Christianity. Predating postmodernism but in postmodern fashion, Rosenzweig argued that Jews had their own subjective truth inside Judaism and Christians had their own subjective truth in Christ. Both were right, according to Rosenzweig.

As well, Rosenzweig taught that Jewish blood inherently gave all Jews shelter under the Old Covenant (the New Covenant being only for Gentiles), but John 1:12-13 asserts that only receiving Christ gives salvation and linkage to the family of God and that the salvation given is given to those “who were not born of blood. ... but of God.”

Rosenzweig’s ideas were a master stroke of accommodation, tolerance and ecumenicity but simply are not true to the New Testament. Arguments like Rosenzweig’s, we must remember, appeared at least in germ form in the second century with Trypho and were soundly refuted by Justin Martyr.24 Church history shows that even the first inklings of a double way of salvation were never tolerated by the Church. Early Christians only affirmed what they knew the Bible taught.

Nearly everyone who champions this “Two Covenant” idea since Rosenzweig, knowingly or unknowingly, repeats his arguments. In 1949, Rosenzweig’s “Two Covenant” view was seriously demolished by Jakob Jocz in his book, The Jewish People and Jesus Christ.25

Jocz was astute in pointing out that election under the Old Covenant was national, whereas under the New Covenant in the age of grace election is individual. This is the key to understanding the “Two Covenant” error. Individual Jews and individual Gentiles must accept God’s offer of salvation in Christ.

Jocz further explains:

“The profound difference between Paul and the Synagogue ultimately turned round the question of the meaning of ‘Jew’. To Paul, a Jew is not defined by race or tradition, but by the moral qualities which link him spiritually to Abraham ... Israel to Paul is not defined in terms of race or colour, but faith.”26

George Foot Moore rightly observes, “For this national election Paul and the church substituted an individual election to eternal life, without regard to race or station.”27

This idea of not evangelizing Jews may be gaining some popularity lately in the American Church. More recently, an organization calling itself Bridges for Peace, led the way drafting a pledge to not proselytize Jews and got 50 local Christian churches and groups ranging from Catholic to various mainstream Protestant denominations to sign on. The document was given to Israeli legislators.28

Methodists set to clash with Jewish community in UK

By JONNY PAUL, JERUSALEM POST CORRESPONDENT
06/18/2010 20:44

Board of Deputies of British Jews says Methodist document could damage relations.

LONDON - The Methodist Church of Britain is on a collision course with Jewish community leaders after being accused of producing a document against Israel to debate the conflict at its annual conference in Portsmouth later this month.

The church, the fourth largest Christian denomination in Britain, is set to have a “debate on Israel-Palestine” then vote on whether to implement a boycott of products and services from the West Bank. Written by group of Methodist clergy, academics and peace activists, the document, titled “Justice for Palestine and Israel,” has been accused of being selective and “full of historical distortions and bias.”

The Board of Deputies of British Jews has expressed concern saying the document could damage Jewish-Methodist relations in the UK. Board chief executive, Jon Benjamin, has written to the president of the Methodist Conference to ask for an urgent meeting.

“This deeply disturbing paper is full of historical distortions and bias,” Benjamin told The Jerusalem Post. “That's unsurprising, given that its main sources appear to be anti-Zionist campaigners. Especially troubling is the suggestion that the Methodist Church will investigate expelling Zionists.

“If it passes, the paper will be damaging to Jewish-Methodist relations. We are seeking an urgent meeting with Methodist leaders to make our objections clear and to seek a resolution.”

The 54-page document has been distributed to all Methodist churches, circuits and regions throughout the UK in order to “resource them in their understanding of and engagement with the issues,” the document described.

Almost all the sources used in the document are controversial. It includes anti-Zionist and anti-Israel activists such as scholars Ilan Pappe and Avi Shlaim; Jeff Halper from the fringe group ‘Israeli Committee against House Demolitions’; Anglican vicar Stephen Sizer and journalist Robert Fisk.

There are also testimonies from Breaking the Silence and the Ecumenical Accompaniment Program in Palestine and Israel (EAPPI), a group funded and supported by the World Council of Churches, which supports the divestment campaign against Israel.

Jerusalem-based research organization NGO Monitor said EAPPI uses a biased Palestinian narrative using demonizing terms such as “apartheid” and “war crimes” to describe Israel and said that most volunteers become active in anti-Israel campaigns on returning to their hometowns.

The report says that 12 volunteers from the Methodist Church in the UK have so far volunteered with EAPPI and spoken at numerous church gatherings.

“EAPPI members have a history of promoting anti-Israel agendas under the facade of peace,” NGO Monitor president Prof. Gerald Steinberg said.

“Christian groups that promote anti-Israel demonization and international isolation display a very disturbing insensitivity and fuel the conflict. The report reflects the distortions of the World Council of Churches, Amos Trust, KAIROS, EAPPI and other groups in this one-sided and biased document. The exclusive emphasis on "occupation" strips away the context of Palestinian terror and rejectionism for seven decades, which forced Israel to response in defense of its citizens.

“This document entirely ignores the rights of Israelis including Gilad Schalit, who was kidnapped and held in Gaza for four years, in violation of all moral principles. If the Methodist leaders and their allies were really concerned about justice, they would not ignore the suffering of Jewish victims of Palestinian terror,” Steinberg added.

In the recommended reading section, the document recommends the Goldstone Report; a 2008 report on Gaza by Christian Aid, Amnesty, Oxfam and other charities. Apart from Herzl’s Jewish State, other recommendations include Jimmy Carter’s book Palestine: Peace not Apartheid and books by Fisk, Pappe and Shlaim.

“The report is amateurish and one-dimensional in its depiction of the history of the tortuous Israel-Palestine conflict,” said Prof. Colin Shindler, senior lecturer in the Department of the Near and Middle East at the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies.

“Its recommended sources are highly selective - presumably to produce a narrative which would reinforce an intended outcome. For example, in the recommended ‘books on background history’, the names of Benny Morris, Anita Shapira, Martin Gilbert and Howard Sacher - all well-known historians of Israel - do not appear.

“There is no suggested book for understanding the evolution of Zionist ideology. No interested student of this complex conflict would treat this seriously. While it is understandable that the Methodists would wish to alleviate the plight of the Palestinians, this skewered account will be viewed as simplistic and partial,” Shindler added.

Among the Israeli groups the documents recommends are Machsom Watch, Women in Black, Physicians for Human Rights and Zochrot.

David Gifford, chief executive of the Council of Christians and Jews (CCJ) also raised his concerns with the document.

“We all agree the Palestinians need to be heard but Methodist church has fallen into this chasm of listening to one voice,” he told the Post. “It is sad that the Methodist Church’s document is so unbalanced, appearing to completely ignore other cries of frustration, desperation and confusion.

“A closer examination by the authors of the Methodist document, of projects of reconciliation and community and economic development in Israel and the West Bank would have revealed opportunities for investment in hope. Instead all we are left with is a call for disinvestment again and no real solutions. Instead we are all thrown into even greater desperation,” he added.

Gifford said that reconciliation over “fertilizing discontent” was the way forward.

“The way forward is to water the seeds of reconciliation rather than fertilize discontent by hearing one narrative and seeing only what one wants to see,” he said.

In a statement, Rev. Graham Carter, chair of the working group that produced the report, said: “The report is not a doctrinal statement but is designed to facilitate a stimulating and wide-ranging debate at the Methodist Conference concerning justice for Israel and Palestine.

“We are sure that the discussion at the Methodist Conference will be open and balanced, addressing the report in a spirit of discernment and with a commitment to hearing, as well as expressing, a variety of perspectives on the issues. Conference members will make the final decisions on the resolutions in the report following this discussion.

“We are committed to seeking ways of achieving a lasting and just peace for all people living in the region, regardless of religious affiliation. We remain deeply committed to working with people of all faiths and none and hope to seek a way forward that will both honour and learn from these relationships,” Carter said.

6 Catholics + 3 Jews = 0 Protestants in Supreme Court

May 20, 2010...4:33 am

ΩΩCNN has an editorial which tries very hard to con us into thinking, the exclusion of all non-Jews and non-Catholics from the Supreme Court doesn’t matter because these guys are all actually Protestants in disguise! Good gods, it is a most excellent disguise! I detect very little sympathy or thinking along previous Court Protestant judges’ lines! Obviously, the charges made by Buchanan has shaken the Zionists to the core so they are on a full throttle attack on him (while keeping him out of the news so he can’t argue back, of course!):

Pat Buchanan Takes On the Kreplach Cabal – Coop’s Corner – CBS News

At this stage of his life, Buchanan reminds me of the proverbial cranky uncle. Every family’s got one. You expect the guy to get worked up over small stuff; but he eventually calms down. Not so, though, with Buchanan, where any change to the culture, post-”Leave It to Beaver,” has been a very big deal. And when it comes to the Jews, the man’s pursued by a dybbuk. He says he’s not an anti-Semite, so I’ll take him at his word. But the controversy keeps making Lazarus-like revivals because well, Buchanan keeps saying obnoxious things.
.
Everyone’s got their pet theories about why he keeps goading the Jews. Here’s another….

ΩΩThe media pretends that Ron Paul is also a cranky and rather silly crazy ‘uncle’, too. Anyone who talks about the wrong things is treated in this condescending way. Ho, ho, ho, so what if Jews are a third of the Court? They are smart! They have connections! They have…the power. And of course, the unwritten and unspoken part here is, the Protestants are locked outside of the system and have no power at all. HAHAHA. There! That silly man, talking about this!

ΩΩWell, this sort of mockery may please the owners and editors of many of our publications or TV stations but this is crossing a very, very dangerous line in the sand. Most people are usually rather unaware of the make up of our courts. I have complained about the infiltration of our courts by people who think tyranny or racism is OK. Well, it is taking over, big time and is being turned against the majority of the nation which is one reason why we are also being scolded for being angry about a flood of illegal aliens coming in, too! Or offshoring of all our jobs to Asia.

ΩΩThis is all about both citizenship and sovereignty as well as civil rights. Here is the incredible CNN editorial that is full of arrogance, defiance and outrageous lies: Do 6 Catholics + 3 Jews = 9 Protestants? – Religion – CNN.com Blogs

By Stephen Prothero, CNN Belief Blog contributor

. On Monday morning in USA Today I argued, against bloggers like Beliefnet’s Rod Dreher, that the religious commitments of judges matter. I then called for a more religiously diverse Supreme Court. Why not an agnostic? An evangelical? A Muslim? .

In all these articles, I was doing the math like this: 6 Catholics + 3 Jews = 0 Protestants. I’m no longer sure that’s right. .

Shortly after I filed my USA Today piece, I had a conversation with Nora Rubel, a University of Rochester religion professor and an observant Jew. Professor Rubel said that most Catholics in America think pretty much like most Protestants, so the Supreme Court’s Protestant/Catholic mix doesn’t really matter. I then observed that many Reform Jews are equally Protestantized, which led us to wonder whether the Jewish/Christian mix doesn’t really matter either. .

The Protestant ethos has long ruled American political institutions. The current Congress is 55 percent Protestant, and every president except for John F. Kennedy has been an heir of the Reformation. But Protestantism also colors America’s religious institutions, and not always inside the lines of Protestant denominations. .

Today many U.S. Catholics and Jews think like Protestants. They believe that religion is something we choose as individuals rather than inherit as communities, and they view it primarily in terms of faith rather than practice.

ΩΩIf half of Congress is ‘Protestant’ than this is the correct size. Jewish people are less than 2% of the population but a much, much bigger presence in Congress as well as the Supreme Court. No religion gets NO representation at all! Barely any in Congress and none in the courts. The ‘other Christians’ are nearly twice as great as Jews and get zero representation in the Supreme Court, too. Catholics should have only 2 people in the Supreme Court, one person should be an atheist and one seat should go to either a Buddhist, a Jew, or a Muslim or Hindu. They could rotate this position.

ΩΩOf course, this entire editorial is insane. Full of gross lies. For example, NONE of the Catholics on the Supreme Court are even faintly ‘Protestant’ in their thinking: at least two of them are very right wing doctrinaire Opus Dei members, for example. I, for one, could guess that the Founding Fathers feared a Catholic legal system more than any in Europe! The history of Catholic law isn’t a wonderful story about freedom of thought! Far from it!

ΩΩI am not even slightly surprised to see the present Jewish/Catholic court condone torture, denial of our basic freedoms and rights and support of assassinations, killing or spying on once-free US citizens and all the other garbage our top Court now allows. Our Constitution is rapidly being ripped up by this Court and the Protestant ethic is virtually totally gone. Forget about the atheist ethic! This is even harder to detect!

ΩΩI lived for many years deep inside the Jewish community in NYC. I knew not one Jew who believed that their tribal affiliations were a ‘choice’. Far from it. This is the entire business! You are born a Jew! And if your mother isn’t Jewish but your father is, you are NOT a Jew! This was made totally and completely clear to me over and over again! Indeed, modern Israel has actually passed a law saying this!

ΩΩI see no denunciations of these racist Jewish laws coming from the Jews who sit in judgement on our entire country. Far from it! I don’t see the Catholics on the bench denouncing say, the Spanish Inquisition, either! We have had nearly a decade, experimenting with replicating the Catholic Church at Gitmo and prisons holding Muslim religious fighters and not so much a peep from the Catholics how have taken over our legal system along with the Jews!

ΩΩThis all sounds so demented but then, our country just fell off a cliff here: the latest attempt at eliminating representation of half of the country (bribing Congress to do Israel’s bidding is also an example of this) from our own political system will have very, very dire consequences in the next decades. Either we lose our Founding Father’s political vision or we accept the new way of doing business and become a religious and ethnic hell hole with our own government assassinating US citizens for making the wrong speeches (a power the President already has already been tempted to use!) or waging wars while not asking Congress for permission, or other dictatorial desires.

ΩΩOne thing about Protestants: they all hate each other and think each other will go to hell so they are not monolithic like the Catholics, for example. The Jews are united by Zionism and woe to anyone in the Jewish community who defies the right wingers who run Tel Aviv! Zionism has totally corrupted all sense of dignity of the law and the concept of civil rights has totally vanished from the Holy Land, instead, it involves trickery, warping the meaning of words and outright lies, all in the pursuit of winning all the court cases via cheating. Lady Justice, in Israel, isn’t blind, she is wide eyed and totally cruel.

ΩΩThis cruel form of justice is now like a gangrene in our own system. I have, for years, warned that fascism in Israel would infect the US. Respect for our courts will collapse if it ends up being ‘alien’. Imagine, for one minute, if all the Court were Chinese or Koreans! The uproar this would cause would be obvious. By the way, when the Court was all white and Protestant males, blacks and women had a hard, hard time arguing for their own civil rights! But with this new court, there is the same problem: half of the nation wasn’t represented by previous courts but now, half will again, not have any representation at all!

ΩΩThe press is trying very hard to avoid discussing this in an honest way. The Jewish media owners are very pleased with this exclusion of half of the nation (guess why!) so they first tried ignoring it. Then, they moved on to mocking us openly with junk like the CNN editorial. A court of all Jews and all Catholics does equal zero Protestants and they know this. Will they fool half of the nation?

ΩΩThe crazier side of the Protestants think that this is just another step towards the Apocalypse! This is also disgusting and I wonder how people can function living in this sort of despair. Now, let’s look at what happens next: Thailand burns!
http://

ΩΩCities will burn! This is a shot from the Tianamen Square-type event going on tonight in Thailand. The government is getting rid of the irritating demonstrators by moving in and killing them. This has sparked widespread violence and riots and the city is literally burning.

ΩΩIn India, Maoists are fighting as well as religious strife is tearing apart the place and bombs are going off in Afghanistan and our soldiers are going mad and committing suicide or crimes here, there and everywhere. This sort of madness that is gripping us will get worse if sovereign nations begin to fail, one by one.

ΩΩAnd ours will certainly fall apart if we have an unfair or unrepresentative system. People still vote and both the libertarians and the left wing liberals are going after the DNC and GOP gangs and voting them out in primaries. We are lucky, this is going on and not things like what we see overseas or in Mexico! Obama should have noticed the lopsided Supreme Court and thought more carefully about representation but he didn’t because he is led about by the nose by Zionists and thinks the Democrats can operate as a Catholic/Jewish party with a few oddball hanger ons? This is ridiculous.

ΩΩHe could have chosen a black Protestant for the bench but didn’t! And the lockstep voting by blacks for the DNC could vanish very quickly when people realize, they are not even represented by a black Democratic President! The ultimate betrayal! This flubbing of an easy choice shows starkly how badly off kilter our political system has grown. Spitting right in the eye of half of the nation is a stupid idea in a democracy. The problem is, the GOP Presidents did the exact same thing for the exact same corrupt reasons!

ΩΩBush knew very well, his Catholic Opus Dei gang would vote draconian powers to him so he could be a dictator. And Obama appreciates this, too. And god help us, the damn Zionists are overjoyed that the Catholics want dictators to run America! So we lose our democracy, our civil rights and representation all at the same time. Good gods. This will end very badly. The only hope the minority religions have is to run things very smoothly so we don’t notice them stripping us of our civil rights. But they failed badly and a very irritated public will grow immensely irritated when we go bankrupt or have hyperinflation in the future.
