America's most dangerous places to live in event of nuclear attack and WW3
EXCLUSIVE: Donald Trump loves to posture, but the posturing would quickly end should World War 3 break out - but where should Americans avoid if the worst case scenario happens?
By
Adam Cailler Senior reporter and Reddit team lead

Despite US President Donald Trumps bravado, World War 3 is on the verge of happening – and the United States has a lot of possible targets. With enemies mounting, from Russia to Iran to China and maybe North Korea, the possibility of a full-scale war breaking out is rising.
And while Trump has claimed to have brokered ceasefires, peace deals and more across several battles, not many of them have stuck – and tensions are rising.
So the Daily Star has put together a handy guide of where Americans should avoid going if war were to break out, and we used Google's artificial intelligence-powered large language model called Gemini to do so.

Ex-AOC chief of staff going after the most powerful woman in Congress
Saikat Chakrabarti hopes his tech experience and work with iconic progressives can vault him over Pelosi and into Washington, D.C

By Anabel Sosa, Senior California politics reporter
All at once, Saikat Chakrabarti is a nobody, a Silicon Valley millionaire and a humble job applicant.
“I’m not choosing to challenge the most powerful woman in Congress. I am just choosing to challenge my congressional representative in San Francisco,” he said last month at Manny’s, the famous political venue in San Francisco’s Mission District. He was speaking to roughly 120 people during his first public event since announcing he would challenge Rep. Nancy Pelosi, the speaker emerita who has represented San Francisco in Congress since 1987, in a primary election next year.
This is the first time the 39-year-old, who spent the last decade helping recruit and elect progressives to Congress, is running on his own.
“I think we can’t just have this anti-Trump movement,” he said at the panel. “Right now, the Democrats are going to have a choice: They continue standing for slow, iterative change and the status quo … or are we going to present an actual vision for rebuilding society?”
During an hourlong panel hosted at the iconic community cafe, Chakrabarti argued that a change is needed. He said repeatedly, with conviction, that there is a “real coup going on in D.C.” and that Democrats aren’t doing enough to stop it. He believes established Democrats like Pelosi are ignoring the bigger problems facing Americans, which have led to the “authoritarian” rise of President Donald Trump.

Saikat Chakrabarti responds to a question during an interview in San Francisco on April 21, 2025.Douglas Zimmerman/SFGATE
That’s the bulk of Chakrabarti’s pitch to voters as he works to establish himself as a viable challenger to Pelosi, over a year before Californians will cast their ballots. Pelosi has filed paperwork to run in 2026 but has not publicly shared her plans. Regardless, Chakrabarti is positioning himself as a fresh-faced candidate who is in a rush for change.
Andrew Dupree, a 35-year-old San Francisco resident, came away from the Manny’s event with a sense that Chakrabarti understands the grievances of San Franciscans.
“He made a great point that people are feeling economic pain. The cost of living is going up. Even in San Francisco, people are struggling,” he said. “My question is, how are you going to build a coalition of liberals?”

Immigrants and children of immigrants make up at least 15% of the current U.S. Congress, according to a Pew Research Center analysis. This share has not changed from the last Congress, making it the first time in the past four Congresses that there has not been an increase in the share or number of immigrants and children of immigrants.
In total, at least 80 lawmakers are foreign born or have at least one parent who was born in another country, including 61 in the House and 19 in the Senate. Our count uses voting members’ biographical information from the Congressional Research Service, news articles, congressional offices and other sources as of Jan. 3, 2025, the first day of the new Congress. How we did this
The number of foreign-born lawmakers in Congress has increased to 19, with two in the Senate and 17 in the House. The share of immigrants in Congress (4%) remains lower than historical highs, and it’s lower than immigrants’ share of the U.S. population overall (15.4% in 2024).

Children of immigrants account for at least 61 lawmakers – 44 in the House and 17 in the Senate. This is down from at least 63 in the 118th Congress. It’s the first time the number of children of immigrants in Congress has decreased since the Center began tracking this information for the 115th Congress. Lawmakers who have at least one immigrant parent currently make up about 11% of all voting members.
Of the voting members of Congress who are immigrants or children of immigrants, Democrats (60) outnumber Republicans (19), continuing recent trends. One is an independent: Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont.
In this Congress, 11 newly elected members are foreign born or have an immigrant parent. Democrat Andy Kim of New Jersey is the first Korean American senator, and Arizona Rep. Yassamin Ansari is the first Iranian Democrat to serve in the House. Arizona Rep. Abraham Hamadeh, the son of Syrian immigrants, and Ohio Sen. Bernie Moreno, a Colombian immigrant, are the only Republicans in this group.
Immigrants and children of immigrants trace their roots to 37 places around the world. The most common place of origin is Mexico: 19 members have family heritage there. Seven trace their roots to Cuba, six to India and five to Germany.

Supreme Court sides with parents who want to opt their children out of LGBTQ books in schools
Published 11:52 AM EDT, Fri June 27, 2025

The Supreme Court on Friday backed a group of religious parents who want to opt their elementary school children out of engaging with LGBTQ books in the classroom, another major legal win for religious interests at the conservative high court.
In the latest decision blurring the line that once clearly separated secular education from religious belief, the court said that a suburban school district near Washington, DC, burdened parents’ First Amendment rights by refusing to allow them to pull their children from the classroom when the books are used.
Justice Samuel Alito wrote the decision for an ideologically divided court. The court’s three liberals dissented.
“The board’s introduction of the ‘LGBTQ+-inclusive’ storybooks, along with its decision to withhold opt outs, places an unconstitutional burden on the parents’ rights to the free exercise of their religion,” Alito wrote for the majority. “The parents have therefore shown that they are likely to succeed in their free exercise claims.”
Alito left to a lower court to weigh whether the policy will survive in the long term but made clear it likely will not.
Pope Leo XIV tells Order of Malta there is no charity without evangelization

By Hannah Brockhaus
Vatican City, Jun 24, 2025 / 13:12 pm
Pope Leo XIV in a message to the Order of Malta underlined the order’s religious character, stressing that without evangelization, the knights’ service to the poor is merely philanthropy.
“Do not limit yourself to helping the needs of the poor, but announce to them the love of God with words and testimony. If this were to be lacking, the order would lose its religious character and would be reduced to being an organization with philanthropic purposes,” Leo wrote in a message to the order on the feast of its patron saint, St. John the Baptist.
The pope also met for the first time with the order’s grand master, Fra’ John Dunlap, at the Vatican on June 23.
In his June 24 message, Leo pointed multiple times to the order’s important dual purpose of “tuitio fidei and obsequium pauperum.” (Latin for “protection of faith” and “service to the poor.”)
The Sovereign Military Order of Malta is both a lay religious order of the Catholic Church and a sovereign state subject to international law.

Trump Administration Will Allow Migrant Arrests at Churches, Schools
By Billal Rahman
Immigration Reporter
Federal immigration agents conducted enforcement operations in and around several churches in Southern California.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents entered Catholic parish properties in Montclair and Highland on Friday, June 20, according to The San Bernardino Sun.
Newsweek reached out to ICE and the churches involved via email for comment.
Why It Matters
The Department of Homeland Security reversed the Biden administration's policy of prohibiting ICE agents from operating in or near schools, churches, and other "sensitive locations."
Churches in the United States play a key role in supporting migrants by offering resources, aid, and assistance. They often act as temporary shelters, especially for newcomers or those passing through. Many provide designated areas for rest and recovery, while also operating food banks, distributing clothing, and supplying other essentials to help migrants address their immediate needs.
What To Know
ICE detained several individuals in the parking lot of St. Adelaide Church in Highland, none of whom were parish employees or registered parishioners, according to The San Bernardino Sun.
ICE agents took one male parishioner into custody at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Montclair, the outlet reported.
"We have experienced at least one case of ICE agents entering a parish property and seizing several people. It should be no surprise that this is creating a tremendous amount of fear, confusion and anxiety for many. It is not of the Gospel of Jesus Christ – which guides us in all that we do," Bishop of the Diocese of San Bernardino, Alberto Rojas, said in a statement Tuesday.

Zohran Mamdani Is a Public Menace

By The Editors
June 23, 2025 6:30 AM
National Review is typically not in the habit of weighing in on Democratic primary races. But, even were we not founded and headquartered in New York, the fate of the world’s most important city would still matter to us, as it does to America. Therefore, decency requires us to state the obvious: Zohran Mamdani, the 33-year-old progressive candidate in tomorrow’s election for the Democratic mayoral nomination, belongs on nobody’s ballot — whether ranked first, fifth, or 100th.
Mamdani — acknowledged by all to be the only candidate threatening the resurrection of former Governor Andrew Cuomo’s political career — is currently the progressive darling of New York, which on its own terms is enough to disqualify him for the position he seeks. He is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, with a list of campaign promises that revisits nearly every discredited left-wing fantasy of the past decade: universal health care, rent freezes, the use of “social workers” as opposed to policing to control urban violence, etc. His most prominent campaign initiative is a promise to eliminate city bus fares, a fantasy which would, if implemented, blow a hole in the MTA’s budget and inevitably lead to service reductions. He has also advocated the eventual implementation of a $30 minimum wage.
New York City need only look at the fate of Chicago — with its ultraprogressive and despised mayor, Brandon Johnson — for a truer vision of the sort of future Mamdani is advertising. Instead, we oppose Mamdani’s moral unworthiness: He is worse than a democratic socialist; he is — as evidenced by an adult life’s worth of political actions — a deeply committed pro-Hamas activist and advocate for the abolition of Israel.
Mamdani has stated repeatedly — including during a recent mayoral debate, when pressed directly on the issue by both Cuomo and the moderator — that he does not believe Israel has a right to exist as a Jewish state. Invoking (by now) familiar code language, he instead argues that Israel can only exist “as a state with equal rights” — that is to say, the “right of return.” A week ago, in an interview, Mamdani refused to condemn use of the phrase “globalize the intifada” — universally understood as a call to bring Hamas’s particular tactics of “resistance” to the Western world — and doubled down by favorably comparing the term to the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising.
These are not fashionable or late-adopted positions for Mamdani. While in college at Bowdoin, he co-founded his school’s chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine. For years (including during his brief tenure as an assemblyman), Mamdani has been a vocal supporter of the boycott, divestment, and sanctions movement designed to academically and intellectually isolate Israelis and Zionist Jews from Western scientific discourse. He has repeatedly and emphatically called Israel’s war in Gaza a “genocide.” In 2017, he recorded a rap song sending his “love” to the “Holy Land Five” — leaders of the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development convicted in 2008 of providing “material support for terrorism” to Hamas. Perhaps most tellingly of all, when news of the October 7 massacre first arrived, Mamdani issued a statement saying nothing about Hamas; he instead called for “ending the occupation and dismantling apartheid.”
The mayor of New York has a job unlike that of any other politician in the United States. Theoretically, he is just another local politician; in reality, he is a representative for America on the global stage, the leader of the most important metropolis in the free world, the gathering place of the United Nations. The city is also home to more Jews than anywhere outside of Israel, a population increasingly threatened by hatred and violence. For the sake of the city, America’s global reputation, and simple decency, voters should leave Zohran Mamdani’s name off their ballot altogether. He is not merely the worst choice on offer; he is unacceptable under any circumstances.

Apocalyptic Religious Belief Drives Iran's Leadership; Attacks On Israel Will Hasten Return Of 'End Time - Hidden Imam' (Not Jesus)
Sunday, June 22 2025 by Richard D. Hunt

In a very real sense, 'spiritual warfare' is resulting in actual warfare in a high stakes scenario
Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei's beliefs on the "end times" are deeply rooted in Shi'ite Islamic theology, specifically Twelverism, which is the predominant belief system of Iran's leadership.
Key elements of this belief include:
Messianic-type belief in the Hidden Imam: Shi'ite theology emphasizes the belief in the return of the Hidden Imam, a messianic-like figure who they believe will appear in a violent, apocalyptic scenario to bring justice and establish a righteous rule.
The IRGC (Revolutionary Guard), a powerful Iranian military force, views world events through the prism of Mahdism, seeing their actions as contributing to the conditions for the Mahdi's reappearance, according to the Middle East Institute.
Ideological Propaganda: Hardline clerics like Hojatoleslam Alireza Panahian have linked events like the COVID-19 pandemic to the signs of the Mahdi's approach.
Iranian leaders, particularly the Supreme Leader, hold significant religious authority within the country's theocratic system. They are deeply rooted in Twelver Shia Islam, with the Supreme Leader being a key interpreter of Islamic law and tradition. - Google Labs

Major US cities on high alert following airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities
Former NYPD Inspector explains enhanced security measures including special patrol cars at vulnerable locations

'Special Report' executive editor Bret Baier analyzes the impact of the U.S. strike on Iran's nuclear sites on 'Hannity.'
Authorities in New York and Washington are on high alert after U.S. airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear sites on Saturday night.
"We’re tracking the situation unfolding in Iran," NYPD said in a post on X. "Out of an abundance of caution, we're deploying additional resources to religious, cultural, and diplomatic sites across NYC and coordinating with our federal partners. We’ll continue to monitor for any potential impact to NYC."
Shortly thereafter, the Metropolitan Police Department released a similar statement on the social media platform.

US urges China to dissuade Iran from closing Strait of Hormuz

Rubio's comments on Fox News' "Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo" show came after Iran's Press TV reported that the Iranian parliament approved a measure to close the Strait of Hormuz, through which around 20% of global oil and gas flows.
"I encourage the Chinese government in Beijing to call them about that, because they heavily depend on the Straits of Hormuz for their oil," said Rubio, who also serves as national security adviser.
"If they do that, it will be another terrible mistake. It's economic suicide for them if they do it. And we retain options to deal with that, but other countries should be looking at that as well. It would hurt other countries' economies a lot worse than ours."
Rubio said a move to close the strait would be a massive escalation that would merit a response from the U.S. and others.
The Chinese embassy in Washington did not immediately provide comment.
U.S. officials said it "obliterated" Iran's main nuclear sites using 14 bunker-buster bombs, more than two dozen Tomahawk missiles and over 125 military aircraft. The strikes mark an escalation in the ongoing Middle Eastern conflict.
Tehran has vowed to defend itself. Rubio on Sunday warned against retaliation, saying such an action would be "the worst mistake they've ever made."
He added that the U.S. is prepared to talk with Iran.We are closely monitoring the situation there with grave concern.

Violence of any kind will not be tolerated.
On February 5th, #50501 raised our voices.
The first #50501 protests were a decentralized rapid response to the anti-democratic and illegal actions of the Trump administration and its plutocratic allies. The idea—50 protests in 50 states on 1 day—was born on r/50501 and spread rapidly on social media.
In just days, grassroots organizers—without any budget, centralized structure, or official backing—pulled off over 80 peaceful protests in all 50 states. Since then, the protests have grown over successive days of action: February 17th, March 4th, April 5th, April 19th, May 1st, and June 14th. The movement has mobilized millions of people and brought together a growing network of organizers and organizations, both new and established.
Our movement shows the world that the American working class will not sit idly by as plutocrats rip apart their democratic institutions and civil liberties while undermining the rule of law.

Trump Privately Approved of Attack Plans for Iran but Has Withheld Final Order
As the conflict between Iran and Israel continues, President Trump is considering multiple options, including a U.S. strike on Iran
Last Updated:
June 18, 2025 at 11:28 PM ET
President Trump told senior aides late Tuesday that he approved of attack plans for Iran, but was holding off to see if Tehran would abandon its nuclear program, people familiar with the deliberations said. Iran’s well-defended Fordow enrichment facility is a possible U.S. target; it is buried under a mountain and generally considered by military experts to be out of reach of all but the most powerful bombs.
Asked if he had decided whether to strike at Iran’s nuclear facilities, Trump said, “I may do it, I may not do it.” And he repeated his insistence of Iran’s unconditional surrender: “The next week is going to be very big, maybe less than a week.”
Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei earlier said his country wouldn’t surrender and warned any U.S. military intervention would bring irreparable consequences.
The U.S. military has built up forces in the Middle East in recent days. A third U.S. Navy destroyer entered the eastern Mediterranean Sea and a second U.S. carrier strike group is heading toward the Arabian Sea. While the Pentagon said the military build-up is purely defensive, it better positions the U.S. should Trump decide to join Israeli attacks on Iran. It could also be a tactic to pressure Iran to capitulate or make concessions.
Israel and Iran have continued to exchange fire, and the death toll in Iran rose above 450, according to a human-rights group. In Israel, 24 people have died as a result of Iranian strikes.
What else to know:
Sen. Ted Cruz (R., Texas), who earlier sparred with talk-show host Tucker Carlson over the conflict, sees a possible U.S. bunker buster strike in Iran, but no boots on the ground.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel is advancing “step by step” toward eliminating Iran’s nuclear program and its ballistic missiles.
The Israeli military said it struck eight Iranian attack helicopters at a military base and 40 missile-infrastructure components in western Iran.
The U.S. Embassy in Israel is arranging evacuation flights for American citizens seeking to leave the country, Mike Huckabee, the U.S. ambassador to Israel, said.

We cannot serve God and mammon. The desire to obtain earthly riches will cause many to sacrifice eternal life. When we imitate the world and behave like the world we become worldly. When we become involved with unbelievers in our relationships and in business, Satan will use these relationships against us and cause us to compromise our faith. Our religious experience becomes contaminated with worldliness and we lose our peculiar distinction as the people of God. We are to have no fellowship and union with unbelievers. Chinese Central Bank head pledges to expand international CBDC use — Report
Jun 18, 2025, 14:31 GMT-4
China’s central bank chief Pan Gongsheng has pledged to expand the footprint of the digital yuan, reaffirming the country’s vision for its central bank digital currency (CBDC).
According to a Reuters report, China is creating an international operations center in Shanghai for the digital yuan, also known as e-CNY. Pan made the remarks at the Lujiazui Forum, a professional forum for high-profile local and international finance regulators and executives.
China envisions a “multipolar” currency system where multiple currencies support the global economy, Pan said. This vision contrasts with the current system, where a few currencies, like the US dollar and the euro, play large roles in the global financial system.
The US dollar, in particular, may have become less appealing to investors in 2025, partly due to the unscripted rollout of tariffs by US President Donald Trump over the past months.
Pan also weighed in on digital technologies, claiming that traditional cross-border payment systems are vulnerable to geopolitical risk.
“Traditional cross-border payment infrastructures can be easily politicized and weaponized, and used as a tool for unilateral sanctions, damaging global economic and financial order," he said.
The battle between stablecoins and CBDCs
Stablecoins, often pegged to the US dollar, have become well-known for their ability to facilitate cross-border transactions. These digital assets are considered one of crypto’s first breakthrough mainstream use cases and present a contrast to CBDCs, which are controlled by a centralized entity, such as central banks.
Despite the rising adoption of stablecoins, many countries continue to pursue CBDCs. Hong Kong, a special administrative region of China, is advancing its stablecoin pilot program. In Europe, lawmakers across member states continue to push for a digital euro, while the United Arab Emirates expects to roll out the digital dirham by the end of 2025. Israel has also released a preliminary design for a digital shekel.
According to a Feb. 11 report from the Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum (OMFIF), CBDC interest is cooling among central banks, with 31% delaying implementation plans. Among the central banks, common concerns include regulation and economic conditions.
China began exploring the creation of a CBDC in 2014 and has plans to expand the digital yuan as a payment tool both internationally and domestically. The country has hoped to combat the US dollar’s role as the world’s reserve currency. The two countries had been mired in a trade war since Trump rolled out the tariffs.

RESIGN: Justice Roberts’ secret friendship with Norm Eisen has been revealed…

April 3, 2025
After you finish this blog, you’ll be asking the million-dollar question: Why is Chief Justice John Roberts hanging out with the Deep State’s #1 color revolution architect?
Turns out the left’s favorite “Republican” has some very interesting buddies.
Hmm…
Norm was so proud of this that he actually bragged about the trip and made it very clear that Roberts isn’t corrupt—he’s just a “close friend” who happened to fly overseas and stay at Eisen’s posh 150-room palace to collaborate on transatlantic political projects.
Really…
And no, that’s not just weird; it’s a massive conflict of interest and could also explain a lot.
As it stands now, Justice Roberts has no business presiding over any of the cases that Eisen and his army of lawfare activists are funneling through the courts, and we all know Norm is tied to so many of these weaponized cases. He should have been recusing himself from the get-go—and probably outright resigning—for the integrity of the court.
Mike Benz told the shocking full story on a recent podcast.
Disturbing details revealed about Vance Boelter's past: 'PURE EVIL'
Seeking to reinvent himself
He worked for decades in managerial roles for food and beverage manufacturers before seeking to reinvent himself in middle age, according to resumes and a video he posted online.
After getting an undergraduate degree in international relations in his 20s, Boelter went back to school and earned a master’s degree and then a doctorate in leadership studies in 2016 from Cardinal Stritch University, a private Catholic college in Wisconsin that has since shut down. While living in Wisconsin, records show Boelter and his wife Jenny founded a nonprofit corporation called Revoformation Ministries, listing themselves as the president and secretary.
After moving to Minnesota about a decade ago, Boelter volunteered for a position on a state workforce development board, first appointed by then-Gov. Mark Dayton, a Democrat, in 2016, and later by Democratic Gov. Tim Walz. He served through 2023.
In that position, he may have crossed paths with one of his alleged victims. Hoffman served on the same board, though authorities said it was not immediately clear how much the two men may have interacted.

The Book of Revelation Satan and His Allies
The Book of Revelation
Satan and His Allies
Lesson #9 for March 2, 2019
Scriptures: Revelation 12:14-16; 13; 17:8; Daniel 7:24; 2 Thessalonians 2:2-12; 1 Kings 18:38.
- 1. Last week we studied Revelation 12, the center of the chiasm in the book of Revelation. There are three sections in Revelation 12: (1) Revelation 12:1-6 talks about how Christ came to this earth to resolve the problems that had arisen; (2) Revelation 12:7-12 explains how the problem began–not on this earth but in heaven; and (3) Revelation 12:13-18 talks about how the conflict will continue to the end of this earth’s history. 2.
- In this week’s lesson, we will see more details about the section in Revelation 12:13-18. The area of emphasis here is from A.D. 538-1798, the 1260 day/42 month/3½ year period of Roman and papal domination of the Western world. During that time, Satan used two allies–which are called beasts and who unite to oppose God’s activities in every way possible–and delay what even Satan himself knows will be the final end and his destruction. 3.
- We have now moved into the portion of Revelation dealing with the future. God does not give us detailed accounts of future events. The purpose of these prophecies is for us to understand that God is still in control; He knows what is coming, and we need to trust Him. 4.
- Read Revelation 13:1-4,8, which describes a sea beast, and Revelation 17:8. Beasts in the Bible represent governments which emphasize their religion as a dominant characteristic. 5.
- In Revelation 12:3-4, the Devil himself is described; but, he tries to hide behind a human organization which in its initial stages was pagan Rome.
'The King of the North and the Papacy'

Part Eleven: 'The King of the North and the Papacy'
Written by Glen Frachiseur
April 2, 2024
And he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over—He. Who is this ‘he?’ Still the king of verse 36, the principle subject. He, the Papacy, the subject, is initiating a counterstrike in response to the actions taken against him by the king of the south, and in turn by the king of the north.
Almost universally within Adventism the king of the north of Daniel 11:40 is seen as the Papacy. According to this view, the Papacy has been well established as the willful king of verse 36, but then assumes a renewed, or revived form, as the king of the north. It is portrayed as the Papacy that is healed of its deadly wound.
The context that drives this view is the longstanding belief that the king of the south fights against the king of the north, who then responds with overwhelming force.
In this article we will be looking to see if the Papacy has indeed taken on the role of the king of the north, and if the king of the south and the king of the north are actually engaged in a conflict with each other. As we focus in on these particular points, we would do well to consider again the reason that both the Jews and Millerites missed the correct interpretation of the present truth for their time. “In both cases there was an acceptance of, or rather an adherence to, popular errors that blinded the mind to the truth,” and that “Errors that had been long established in the church prevented them from arriving at a correct interpretation of an important point in the prophecy.” GC 351.2, 352.3
These then, become the two questions to ask: How did the Papacy suddenly become the king of the north? and, are the kings of the south and north of verse 40 engaged in a conflict against each other? Does the Bible support either of these views?
No King, no Pope
AI Overview
The phrase "no king, no pope" expresses a desire to be free from both royal and papal authority. It's a slogan that reflects a desire for autonomy and self-governance, rejecting the hierarchical structures of monarchy and the Catholic Church. This sentiment can be found in various historical and political contexts where people have sought to break away from established powers.

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem provides remarks on LA immigration raids
"Some may even say that God is on our side, Governor"
These were the words* of Raja Krishnamoorthi (Subramanian Raja Krishnamoorthi), Democrat representative from the 8th congressional district of Illinois, during a hearing of Democrat governors from "asylum states" on Thursday, June 12, 2025. It's perplexing how a practicing Hindu (born in New Delhi, India) could utter this statement. In other words, despite not being Roman Catholic, Representative Krishnamoorthi (not to be confused with the late Indian philosopher Jiddu Krishnamurti) thought it opportune to mention that Pope Leo XIV was born in Illinois and that some people consider God to favor the United States of America because the Pontiff is an American from Illinois.
It's strange that Representative Raja Krishnamoorthi would bring up the Pope when this coming Saturday, June 14, 2025, there is a nationwide event planned called NO KING, to protest Trump's immigration policy and the resistance to ICE in Los Angeles, California.
This reminds me that 250 years ago in New England during the American Revolution, people would say, "No King, No Popery."

A series of bomb attacks in southwestern Colombia has left at least seven people dead and more than 50 injured.
The explosions, mostly directed at police stations, came just days after an assassination attempt on Miguel Uribe, a conservative senator and potential presidential contender.
Tuesday’s attacks were believed to have been directed by a rebel guerrilla group known as Estado Mayor Central, which splintered from the main Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), in 2016. Two police officers are amongst those killed.

What to know about counterprotests to Trump's June 14 parade

Politics & Policy

Protestors are taking to the streets and community hubs nationwide on June 14 in what organizers expect will be the largest single-day anti-President Trump rally since the start of the administration.
Why it matters: The widespread movement will run counter to Trump's multimillion dollar military parade in D.C.
"No Kings is a nationwide day of defiance," organizers wrote. "From city blocks to small towns, from courthouse steps to community parks, we're taking action to reject authoritarianism."
More than 100 pro-democracy advocacy groups are partnering to organize the No Kings events.
What they're saying: "Donald Trump wants tanks in the street and a made-for-TV display of dominance for his birthday," the No Kings website said."A spectacle meant to look like strength. But real power isn't staged in Washington. It rises up everywhere else."
By the numbers: Millions of people are estimated to protest in more than 1,500 cities across all 50 states and commonwealths, organizers said.

S.F. ICE protests: More demonstrations planned after chaotic night led to arrests

Immigrant-rights activists plan to descend on San Francisco City Hall and a highly trafficked BART station Monday afternoon to protest a spate of recent federal immigration arrests and the Trump administration’s most recent travel ban.
The protests Monday would come on the heels of a chaotic altercation in San Francisco Sunday that resulted in the arrest of 148 adults and six juveniles.

Protests on Monday were scheduled for 4 p.m. outside of San Francisco City Hall and at 6 p.m. at the 24th and Mission BART plaza, according to organizers of the respective demonstrations. They were organized in response to the immigration arrests in Los Angeles over the weekend and in the Bay Area in the last two weeks. Several supervisors were scheduled to attend the protest outside of City Hall on Monday, the event’s organizers said.
The arrests and the travel ban “are connected by a shared goal: to criminalize, isolate, and silence our communities,” organizers of the City Hall news conference said Sunday in a social media post.
Demonstrations over immigration raids erupted over the weekend in Los Angeles, with some protesters clashing with local law enforcement. Buildings were vandalized and vehicles set on fire, and local law enforcement deployed tear gas and flash-bang grenades on protesters. The Trump administration deployed National Guard troops, without the request of the governor, in an effort to quell the protests, but Gov. Gavin Newsom said local law enforcement did not need the help and sent them to escalate tensions.

Pope Leo Sells Out US Event Clashing With Parade on Trump's Birthday
Published Jun 07, 2025 at 11:44 AM EDT
By Martha McHardy
US News Reporter
Pope Leo XIV has helped sell out a stadium show in Chicago with a promised virtual appearance—scheduled for the same day as a major military parade in Washington, D.C.
Within the first 15 minutes of ticket availability, more than 9,000 people requested seats for the Chicago gathering. By the end of the first day, that number had climbed to 20,000. As of Friday, the $5 tickets were completely sold out. The event will be streamed live online, although CatholicTV has not confirmed whether it will air the broadcast.
Why It Matters
Pope Leo's expected involvement in the Chicago event, which will be streamed online, will draw huge interest and will divide some attention away from the Trump-backed military parade the same day, the president's birthday.
The pope, in his first address to world diplomats, said the dignity of migrants had to be respected, potentially putting himself on a collision course with the Trump administration, which has stepped up enforcement of immigration law, arguing voters' concerns on the topic have long been ignored.

Today's Show: JESUITS SUGGEST NEW POPE IS FOR THE END OF AMERICAN EMPIRE - 6.5.2025
Chris discusses an article from the Jesuit's flagship publication, "America Magazine" in which they feature an article titled, "Leo XIV: An American Pope for the end of American Empire?" They make reference to Leo XIII (his predecessor) who was the student of the Jesuit professor, Luigi Taparelli -- best known for the doctrine of "social justice." They also comment on Leo's "south-of-the-border perspective" signaling that he will likely support illegal immigration into the United States -- the strategy of globalists to take total control of the country. A similar problem exists in the U.K. Also discussed is the immigration war against Ireland, where the Irish are literally being replaced by Muslims. We hear protesters give an explanation of the phrase "Ireland is full." We also hear the 1974 testimony of former South African Prime Minister, John Vorster -- who warned about the dangers of mass immigration long before the 21st century.

Spiritualism's Role in Deception, June 7
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 1 John 4:1.
Many will be ensnared through the belief that spiritualism is a merely human imposture; when brought face to face with manifestations which they cannot but regard as supernatural, they will be deceived, and will be led to accept them as the great power of God.17The Great Controversy, 553.
As the teachings of spiritualism are accepted by the churches, the restraint imposed upon the carnal heart is removed, and the profession of religion will become a cloak to conceal the basest iniquity. A belief in spiritual manifestations opens the door to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils, and thus the influence of evil angels will be felt in the churches.18The Great Controversy, 603, 604.
The popular ministry cannot successfully resist spiritualism. They have nothing wherewith to shield their flocks from its baleful influence. Much of the sad result of spiritualism will rest upon ministers of this age; for they have trampled the truth under their feet, and in its stead have preferred fables.19Testimonies for the Church 1:344.
Satan has long been preparing for his final effort to deceive the world. The foundation of his work was laid by the assurance given to Eve in Eden: “Ye shall not surely die.” “In the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” Genesis 3:4, 5. Little by little he has prepared the way for his masterpiece of deception in the development of spiritualism. He has not yet reached the full accomplishment of his designs; but it will be reached in the last remnant of time. Says the prophet: “I saw three unclean spirits like frogs.... They are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.” Revelation 16:13, 14. Except those who are kept by the power of God, through faith in His word, the whole world will be swept into the ranks of this delusion. The people are fast being lulled to a fatal security, to be awakened only by the outpouring of the wrath of God.20The Great Controversy, 561, 562.

Franklin Graham Meets with President Zelenskyy to Pray for Peace in Ukraine
In a private moment with Ukraine’s president, Franklin Graham points to prayer, not politics, as the only hope for lasting peace.

Updated Jun 02, 2025

Evangelist Franklin Graham recently revealed that he prayed with Ukrainian to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for peace amid the ongoing Ukrainian-Russian war. He made the surprise announcement at the European Congress on Evangelism Tuesday evening, which was hosted by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, The Christian Post reported.
"Today, I had the privilege to meet with President Zelenskyy," Graham told delegates. "And I prayed with him that God will give them wisdom and that God will give them a path forward for peace."
He also shared how he met with Russian President Putin in the past and shared "with him what we as Evangelicals believe."
"Now, when I said that to him, he kind of listened very politely, but maybe it was the first time he understood. He was probably thinking this is the craziest thing I've ever heard. I don't know."
Although the "complications" in Ukraine and Russia were "very difficult," Graham contended that "only God can solve this." He then encouraged delegates to pray out loud regarding the end of the conflict.
"I think the most important thing maybe we can do for the next few minutes is to pray, and to pray for Ukraine, to pray for Russia, for the leaders of these countries and for the president of my country (U.S.), President Trump, that God will give a way forward.
"As God leads us, pray out loud for the leaders with heavy hearts as we think about fighting in the war and the people that have been killed, the families that are hurting, have lost loved ones."
