Middle East’s 2nd-largest economy deports nearly 15,000 people in one week as Ethiopians account for 58% of illegal border arrests

03 September 2026 07:08 PM

Saudi Arabia has deported 14,905 people following a week-long nationwide crackdown on residency, labour and border violations, with Ethiopians accounting for the largest share of those caught trying to enter the kingdom illegally.

Ethiopians constituted 58% of the 1,450 individuals caught trying to cross the border illegally, the largest share among nationalities.
Saudi Arabia deported 14,905 people after a week-long crackdown on residency, labour, and border violations.

Over 29,900 expatriates are currently undergoing enforcement procedures related to immigration and residency laws.
The government warned that those aiding illegal entry or stay could face severe penalties, including up to 15 years in prison and heavy fines.

The enforcement campaign, carried out between August 20 and August 26, led to the arrest of 14,434 people, according to the Ministry of Interior.

Of those detained, 6,976 were cited for residency violations, 4,110 for breaches of border security rules and 3,348 for labour violations, Gulf News reported.

Ethiopians account for 58% of border arrests

The figures are notable for Africa because Ethiopian nationals accounted for 58% of the 1,450 people arrested while attempting to cross into Saudi Arabia illegally. Yemenis made up 41%, while other nationalities accounted for the remaining 1%.

Jesus would not have endorsed the Democratic Socialists of America | Opinion

Peter Crabb
Wed, July 15, 2026 at 6:00 AM EDT

Peter Crabb

In the same year that Americans are celebrating the Declaration of Independence and the principles of liberty found there, members of the Democratic Socialists of America are making political gains.

At my institution and in churches around the country, Christians are revisiting an old question: Was Jesus the first socialist? The idea is appealing to many of my students and fellow followers of Jesus.

Our Lord's emphasis on helping the poor and the first disciples' sharing of resources in the book of Acts suggests a natural alignment with the tenets of socialism. However, discussions around these teachings ignore the central characteristics of socialism; that is, the use of force.

Economic studies of government laws and policies always seek to distinguish between the "seen" and the "unseen." Economists ask both the question of what the immediate effects of a government policy will be but also ask what the likely unintended consequences are of the same.

What is seen in Jesus's teaching is a call to radical generosity. What is unseen by many readers of this teaching is that the call was always directed at the individual's heart, not the Roman authority or tax collector. Socialism is defined by the concentration of power to forcibly achieve a redistribution of wealth. Socialist policies are not voluntary but rather coercive, resulting from a monopoly power the government holds over the use of force.

There is no evidence that Jesus endorsed the forcible redistribution of wealth by political authorities. When confronted with a question about the distribution of a family's wealth, Jesus replied by asking who appointed him a judge or arbiter and instead cautioned against envy (Luke 12).

Mamdani forgot he’s just a mayor. The State Department had to remind him

Story by Anthony Maranise, Washington Examiner

Mamdani forgot he’s just a mayor. The State Department had to remind him

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s administration recently scheduled a meeting between his commissioner of international affairs and Iran’s U.N. ambassador. The meeting was only stopped after the State Department intervened and ordered it canceled.

Mamdani says he didn’t know about it. That is not a defense. It is an admission that either his office is freelancing foreign policy or he sees nothing wrong with it.

He is a city mayor. Nothing more. The fact that he leads the largest city in the country does not grant him authority to conduct diplomacy with a regime that actively works against U.S. interests. Foreign policy belongs to the federal government. Period.

Local officials exist to handle local problems: crime, transit, housing, and basic services. They do not get to insert themselves into matters of national security and international relations. When a mayor’s team attempts back-channel contact with Iran’s representative at the United Nations, it is not bold leadership. It is arrogant overreach.

This episode fits a pattern. Mamdani ran on a platform that treated the mayoralty as a platform for progressive ideology rather than competent local governance. Now, his administration has demonstrated the same confusion of roles in practice. While City Hall dabbles in foreign affairs that it has no business touching, New Yorkers continue to deal with failing infrastructure, strained public safety resources, and a city government that too often prioritizes symbolism over results.

The Greatest Move of God, Part 3

The Greatest Move of God, Part 3
Rick Joyner

If a child has not been disciplined, or held accountable for their behavior, they will likely view any exercise of authority as cruel, extreme, and dictatorial. On the other extreme, those who have been wounded by abusive authority will tend to see even the wisest, most gentle, and caring authority as brutal and threatening.

Like wounded animals, wounded people tend to fear anyone that would try to get close to them, even those seeking to help them. These two scenarios capture a large part of the human population. This makes how we relate to and exercise authority one of the most important issues in our time. This also makes it understandable why the ultimate battle between light and darkness at the end of this age is a battle over authority.

The coming kingdom of God is about God’s authority being brought to the earth. Satan’s ultimate resistance to the kingdom of God is to expand his authority over the earth, and to poison people against God’s authority. He seeks to bind the entire world with his counterfeit authority. To resist this, we must first be able to recognize the difference between God’s authority and Satan’s, resolve to only obey God’s, and exercise His authority and not the devil’s.

The most basic distinction between God’s authority and Satan’s is that God’s authority is exercised in love for those it is serving, and Satan’s authority is exercised with fear to bind and control those by whom it wants to be served.

The pope urges an end to Iran conflict

01-03-2026 02:50 PM

Ammon News -Pope Leo XIV said Sunday he was “profoundly concerned” about the U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran and urged both sides to “stop the spiral of violence before it becomes an irreparable abyss.”

In the first reaction to the attacks, the American pope called for the resumption of diplomacy and a “reasonable, authentic and responsible” dialogue based on justice. Weapons, he said, only sow “destruction, pain and death.”

“Faced with the possibility of a tragedy of enormous proportions, I make a heartfelt appeal to the parties involved to assume their moral responsibility to stop the spiral of violence before it becomes an irreparable abyss,” Leo said.

Rep. Ilhan Omar introduced a resolution to end unauthorized U.S. military actions against Venezuela and designated organizations.

Quiver AI Summary

Representative Ilhan Omar introduced a War Powers Resolution aimed at ending unauthorized U.S. military actions against Venezuela and designated transnational criminal organizations. The resolution follows strikes by the Trump administration, described as lacking congressional authorization or legal justification, and emphasizes Congress's exclusive power to declare war.

Omar, joined by other Congressional Progressive Caucus leaders, criticized the escalation of military force and highlighted the need for accountability in military engagement. The resolution also seeks to clarify that designations of foreign terrorist organizations do not authorize military action.

Supporters of the resolution, including advocacy groups, argue that recent military actions are unlawful and detrimental, emphasizing the importance of legislative oversight in matters of war. They advocate for a focus on diplomatic solutions rather than military interventions, citing widespread public opposition to unauthorized military conflict.

Atlantic Union Seeks to Ban Conrad Vine, Oversteps Authority

July 4, 2025 Fulcrum7 Staff

Back in November, the Atlantic Union executive committee voted to ban Conrad Vine from every pulpit in their union.

The Northern New England Conference believes that the AU acted outside their authority as outlined in the Church Manual. This ban would give higher entities in our organization the authority to circumvent local church business meetings and to impact the standing of members even outside of their Union. They chose to not be a party to this decision, as it undermines the sound, Bible-based practices and procedures outlined in the Church Manual and erodes proper church order.

What to know about counterprotests to Trump's June 14 parade

There are at least 1,500 events planned in 1,400 cities.

Data: No Kings; Map: Kavya Beheraj/Axios

Jun 7, 2025
Politics & Policy

Protestors are taking to the streets and community hubs nationwide on June 14 in what organizers expect will be the largest single-day anti-President Trump rally since the start of the administration.

Why it matters: The widespread movement will run counter to Trump's multimillion dollar military parade in D.C.

"No Kings is a nationwide day of defiance," organizers wrote. "From city blocks to small towns, from courthouse steps to community parks, we're taking action to reject authoritarianism."
More than 100 pro-democracy advocacy groups are partnering to organize the No Kings events.

What they're saying: "Donald Trump wants tanks in the street and a made-for-TV display of dominance for his birthday," the No Kings website said."A spectacle meant to look like strength. But real power isn't staged in Washington. It rises up everywhere else."

By the numbers: Millions of people are estimated to protest in more than 1,500 cities across all 50 states and commonwealths, organizers said.

Vatican: Only the Roman Catholic Church has authority to interpret Scripture

On Feb 12, 2018

One Of Satan’s Method Of Deceiving Is Keeping People In Ignorance.

Why Would The Roman Catholic Church Prevent People From Getting The Knowledge Of The Bible For Themselves?

It’s Because They Want To Keep People In Ignorance So They Can’t Comprehend The Errors Of The Roman Catholic Faith.

A Careful Study Of Scriptures Would Reveal All The Deceptions Of The Roman Catholic Church And People Would Know The Truth.

Here’s What The Catholic Church Says:

CCC 100, “The task of interpreting the Word of God authentically has been entrusted solely to the Magisterium of the Church, that is, to the Pope and to the bishops in communion with him.”

With This Deception, Millions Are Kept In Ignorance. They Follow Blindly.

On The Other Hand, What Does Jesus Say About Bible Study?

“John 5:39 SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.”

The Bible Speaks Directly Opposite To The Deceptions Of The Roman Catholic Church:

“Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”

“Psalms 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”

“2 Timothy 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”

To Understand The Will Of God Concerning You, You Must Study His Word And Obtain Personal Knowledge To Know And Perform Your God Given Duty.

God’s Word Is Not A Mystery, That Must Be Only Interpreted By A Fellow Man Excepting Others. That’ll Be Dangerous And Devilish.

Before You Study The Word Of God, Pray For Understanding And The Holy Spirit Shall Grant You Understanding.

The Bible Was Written For You And Me And Not For Any Particular Fallible Man To Interpret For Us.

The Roman Church Still Holds This Dangerous Doctrine And Would They Not Ban And Burn Bible Again (As In Dark Ages) When They Regain World Power? Yes They Will.

And Now The Wicked Working Of Printing So Many Diluted Versions Of The Bible, Traces To Rome.

Also Read: The Truth About The Jesuits And Their Venom.

God Is Calling All His People Out Of This Religio-Political System Which Is Leading Many To Perdition.
Will You Heed This Call And Be Saved?

“Revelation 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. 18:5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.”

Satan well knew that the Holy Scriptures would enable men to discern his deceptions and withstand his power. It was by the word that even the Saviour of the world had resisted his attacks. At every assault, Christ presented the shield of eternal truth, saying, “It is written.” To every suggestion of the adversary, He opposed the wisdom and power of the word. In order for Satan to maintain his sway over men, and establish the authority of the papal usurper, he must keep them in ignorance of the Scriptures. The Bible would exalt God and place finite men in their true position; therefore its sacred truths must be concealed and suppressed. This logic was adopted by the Roman Church. For hundreds of years the circulation of the Bible was prohibited. The people were forbidden to read it or to have it in their houses, and unprincipled priests and prelates interpreted its teachings to sustain their pretensions. Thus the pope came to be almost universally acknowledged as the vicegerent of God on earth, endowed with authority over church and state. GC 51.3

The detector of error having been removed, Satan worked according to his will. Prophecy had declared that the papacy was to “think to change times and laws.” Daniel 7:25. This work it was not slow to attempt. To afford converts from heathenism a substitute for the worship of idols, and thus to promote their nominal acceptance of Christianity, the adoration of images and relics was gradually introduced into the Christian worship. The decree of a general council (see Appendix) finally established this system of idolatry. To complete the sacrilegious work, Rome presumed to expunge from the law of God the second commandment, forbidding image worship, and to divide the tenth commandment, in order to preserve the number. GC 51.4

God’s word has given warning of the impending danger; let this be unheeded, and the Protestant world will learn what the purposes of Rome really are, only when it is too late to escape the snare. She is silently growing into power. Her doctrines are exerting their influence in legislative halls, in the churches, and in the hearts of men. She is piling up her lofty and massive structures in the secret recesses of which her former persecutions will be repeated.Stealthily and unsuspectedly she is strengthening her forces to further her own ends when the time shall come for her to strike. All that she desires is vantage ground, and this is already being given her. We shall soon see and shall feel what the purpose of the Roman element is.Whoever shall believe and obey the word of God will thereby incur reproach and persecution. GC 581.2

True Before And After

October 10, 2017

Larry Kirkpatrick

On Monday, October 9, 2017, the General Conference Executive Committee met.

The committee chose not to implement at this time the action proposed by top officers, but put nothing in its place. No action was taken against units of the Church which are presently, openly, acting in rebellion toward voted 2015 General Conference Session action. General Conference Secretary G.T. Ng stated that in a sense the very principle of church governance was on trial.

Consider these facts which are true, both before and after Monday:
    • In three General Conference sessions where action would have enabled--directly or indirectly--the ordination of women (1990, 1995, 2015), the Church turned down those proposals.
    • Most recently, denominationally illegal "ordinations" and credentialing irregularities have been carried out by certain Conferences and Unions in North American and Trans-European Divisions..
    • Thousands of Church members in the North American Division are presently, openly calling for the removal of NAD president Dan Jackson and other Division officers by petitions and letters which have been sent to the Executive Committee.

The persistent action of a minority of Adventists is disenfranchising the broader membership of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Delegates voted in 2015 not to permit Divisions to make provision for the ordination of women to the gospel ministry. But the ordinations are continuing. The women's ordination faction is usurping power over the majority of Adventists who vested their delegates with authority which they properly employed to vote the opposite decision.

By refusing to take any substantial action, General Conference Executive Committee members are risking fragmentation. The Committee has failed to sustain the authority of the world church, and by refusal to act, risks joining itself with the disobedient units in disenfranchising the majority of world church members, whose 2015 General Conference Session vote is being defied.

As one Committee member put it, "We as laypeople have come here filled with mission priority. . . It seems that people . . . are defending themselves, standing in the street. Why don't they just get off the street? The laypeople will come back with a quick document."

Our president very fairly pointed out the need for a solution. He said, "If the method that has been proposed to you is not the one that should be followed, we've been asking for a better one."

The world church has entrusted the Executive Committee to protect it. Annual Council meets until Wednesday afternoon.

Women’s Ordination and Authority Wars

September 21, 2017

Story:

When my wife started college she was sure that she was going to do music and be a performer when she grew up. Then people told her that she wouldn’t be able to make a living that way so she needed to do something else. She decided to study religion and thought that she might be able to be a pastor. But then people told her that it’s hard for women to become pastors in the Adventist church, so she switched her major to psychology. The problem was her gifting and calling was in music and ministry. She couldn’t ignore the way that God had made her so she switched back to studying religion and preparing for ministry. She was one of the top communicators in preaching class and she loved to love on people and care for them. She was clearly gifted for ministry…but what should she do when it came time to graduate? Would she be able to be hired as a pastor or as a music minister? Why is this such a hard thing to do in the Adventist church? Was it true that her church didn’t really want her?

Discussion Questions:

What are your gifts and talents?
What kind of ministry have you felt called to be a part of?
Have you ever felt like God called you to do something and then the church shut you down?
Have you ever felt like God called you to do something and the church made it a reality for you?
Why or why not do you feel like you are wanted by the church?

The Issue:

The problem is multi-multifaceted and focused on the tricky word “ordination.” First there are strait-up practical/authority concerns when it comes to structure, payment, taxes, and tradition. Second there are biblical-hermeneutical-spiritual concerns that are being raised and the arguments are getting fierce…girl are they ever.

Catechism of the Catholic Church - Social justice

PART THREE
LIFE IN CHRIST

SECTION ONE
MAN'S VOCATION LIFE IN THE SPIRIT

CHAPTER TWO
THE HUMAN COMMUNION

ARTICLE 3
SOCIAL JUSTICE

1928 Society ensures social justice when it provides the conditions that allow associations or individuals to obtain what is their due, according to their nature and their vocation. Social justice is linked to the common good and the exercise of authority.

I. RESPECT FOR THE HUMAN PERSON

1929 Social justice can be obtained only in respecting the transcendent dignity of man. The person represents the ultimate end of society, which is ordered to him:
What is at stake is the dignity of the human person, whose defense and promotion have been entrusted to us by the Creator, and to whom the men and women at every moment of history are strictly and responsibly in debt.35
1930 Respect for the human person entails respect for the rights that flow from his dignity as a creature. These rights are prior to society and must be recognized by it. They are the basis of the moral legitimacy of every authority: by flouting them, or refusing to recognize them in its positive legislation, a society undermines its own moral legitimacy.36 If it does not respect them, authority can rely only on force or violence to obtain obedience from its subjects. It is the Church's role to remind men of good will of these rights and to distinguish them from unwarranted or false claims.

1931 Respect for the human person proceeds by way of respect for the principle that "everyone should look upon his neighbor (without any exception) as 'another self,' above all bearing in mind his life and the means necessary for living it with dignity."37 No legislation could by itself do away with the fears, prejudices, and attitudes of pride and selfishness which obstruct the establishment of truly fraternal societies. Such behavior will cease only through the charity that finds in every man a "neighbor," a brother.

1932 The duty of making oneself a neighbor to others and actively serving them becomes even more urgent when it involves the disadvantaged, in whatever area this may be. "As you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me."38

1933 This same duty extends to those who think or act differently from us. The teaching of Christ goes so far as to require the forgiveness of offenses. He extends the commandment of love, which is that of the New Law, to all enemies.39 Liberation in the spirit of the Gospel is incompatible with hatred of one's enemy as a person, but not with hatred of the evil that he does as an enemy.

II. EQUALITY AND DIFFERENCES AMONG MEN

1934 Created in the image of the one God and equally endowed with rational souls, all men have the same nature and the same origin. Redeemed by the sacrifice of Christ, all are called to participate in the same divine beatitude: all therefore enjoy an equal dignity.

1935 The equality of men rests essentially on their dignity as persons and the rights that flow from it:

Every form of social or cultural discrimination in fundamental personal rights on the grounds of sex, race, color, social conditions, language, or religion must be curbed and eradicated as incompatible with God's design.40

1936 On coming into the world, man is not equipped with everything he needs for developing his bodily and spiritual life. He needs others. Differences appear tied to age, physical abilities, intellectual or moral aptitudes, the benefits derived from social commerce, and the distribution of wealth.41 The "talents" are not distributed equally.42

1937 These differences belong to God's plan, who wills that each receive what he needs from others, and that those endowed with particular "talents" share the benefits with those who need them. These differences encourage and often oblige persons to practice generosity, kindness, and sharing of goods; they foster the mutual enrichment of cultures:
I distribute the virtues quite diversely; I do not give all of them to each person, but some to one, some to others. . . . I shall give principally charity to one; justice to another; humility to this one, a living faith to that one. . . . And so I have given many gifts and graces, both spiritual and temporal, with such diversity that I have not given everything to one single person, so that you may be constrained to practice charity towards one another. . . . I have willed that one should need another and that all should be my ministers in distributing the graces and gifts they have received from me.43
1938 There exist also sinful inequalities that affect millions of men and women. These are in open contradiction of the Gospel:
Their equal dignity as persons demands that we strive for fairer and more humane conditions. Excessive economic and social disparity between individuals and peoples of the one human race is a source of scandal and militates against social justice, equity, human dignity, as well as social and international peace.44
III. HUMAN SOLIDARITY

1939 The principle of solidarity, also articulated in terms of "friendship" or "social charity," is a direct demand of human and Christian brotherhood.45
An error, "today abundantly widespread, is disregard for the law of human solidarity and charity, dictated and imposed both by our common origin and by the equality in rational nature of all men, whatever nation they belong to. This law is sealed by the sacrifice of redemption offered by Jesus Christ on the altar of the Cross to his heavenly Father, on behalf of sinful humanity."46
1940 Solidarity is manifested in the first place by the distribution of goods and remuneration for work. It also presupposes the effort for a more just social order where tensions are better able to be reduced and conflicts more readily settled by negotiation.

1941 Socio-economic problems can be resolved only with the help of all the forms of solidarity: solidarity of the poor among themselves, between rich and poor, of workers among themselves, between employers and employees in a business, solidarity among nations and peoples. International solidarity is a requirement of the moral order; world peace depends in part upon this.

1942 The virtue of solidarity goes beyond material goods. In spreading the spiritual goods of the faith, the Church has promoted, and often opened new paths for, the development of temporal goods as well. And so throughout the centuries has the Lord's saying been verified: "Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things shall be yours as well":47
For two thousand years this sentiment has lived and endured in the soul of the Church, impelling souls then and now to the heroic charity of monastic farmers, liberators of slaves, healers of the sick, and messengers of faith, civilization, and science to all generations and all peoples for the sake of creating the social conditions capable of offering to everyone possible a life worthy of man and of a Christian.48
IN BRIEF

1943 Society ensures social justice by providing the conditions that allow associations and individuals to obtain their due.

1944 Respect for the human person considers the other "another self." It presupposes respect for the fundamental rights that flow from the dignity intrinsic of the person.

1945 The equality of men concerns their dignity as persons and the rights that flow from it.

1946 The differences among persons belong to God's plan, who wills that we should need one another. These differences should encourage charity.

1947 The equal dignity of human persons requires the effort to reduce excessive social and economic inequalities. It gives urgency to the elimination of sinful inequalities.

1948 Solidarity is an eminently Christian virtue. It practices the sharing of spiritual goods even more than material ones.
