Dutch politician Diederik Samsom Bilderberg 2014 talks to protesters.

Published on Jun 1, 2014

The Dutch politician Diederik Samsom Bilderberger came out for the 2nd day in a row while the Bilderberg 2014 meeting in Copenhagen was ongoing to talk to the protesters outside. Diederik Samsom came out exactly at the time as Dr Niels Harrit's speech was about to start and drew most journalists away from Dr Niels Harrit. Dr. Niels Harrit is a Danish scientist who found unexploded nano-thermite high explosive in all samples of the World Trade Center (WTC) dust of 9/11. Is it a coincidence that Diederik Samsom came out exactly at the same time Dr. Niels Harrit was supposed to speak? The timing of his speech was known weeks before the Bilderberg 2014 protests. Hmmmm......

Bilderberg 2014: George Osborne and the man at the centre of everything

After terrifying John Major, Sir John Kerr has moved on to well-connected boardrooms and the heart of Bilderberg

On the sun-drenched patio of the Marriott Hotel in Copenhagen sat the chancellor of the exchequer. He sat quietly and listened carefully as a distinguished older gentleman gave him what appeared to be an intense and barely-interrupted 25 minute briefing. George Osborne sat and listened, while we stood and watched.

The body language was fascinating. George was tense, leaning in, petitioning. The man opposite was physically relaxed but full of gestures and explanations. George was there to listen hard and get up to speed. Apart from a two-minute speech at the end, he opened his lips barely a dozen times, and half of those were simply to have a sip of his fruit punch.

The gentleman with his back to us, slouching comfortably in his chair, is an important, extremely well connected, but not very well known individual: Sir John Kerr. Otherwise known as Baron Kerr of Kinlochard. The current vice-chairman of Scottish Power.

At Bilderberg, Sir John always seems to be at the centre of things: when Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands emerges onto the patio, it’s Sir John who leads her out. When no one else will have a drink with Richard Perle, Sir John steps up:

Patting shoulders, pressing the flesh, ushering people together: Bilderberg is his domain. Sir John is a member of the Bilderberg Group’s inner circle – the steering committee – and probably its heaviest smoker. The only thing with more tar in it than Sir John’s lungs is Peter Thiel’s hair.

Here’s a lovely portrait of Sir John, enjoying a pre-dinner cigarette on the riverfront terrace. I think it shows showing how delighted he is to see the photographers camped outside the conference.

Sir John used to be one of the UK’s top civil servants: he was head of the diplomatic service, and served as ambassador to the US and the EU.

One of the architects of European integration, he was in charge of the secretariat that drew up the first draft of the European constitution, and famously hid under the table during the Maastricht negotiations, passing up handwritten notes to John Major. Out of sight, but right in the centre of power.

Major likened Sir John to Machiavelli in his memoirs, and was clearly terrified of the man. He memorably said: “When Kerr comes up to you and asks for the time, you wonder why me and why now?”

After wrapping up his career in public service, Kerr hopped gracefully into the City, and was until recently deputy chairman of the most Bilderbergian company of all, Shell Oil. As well as his role at Scottish Power he is a board member of Rio Tinto, the multinational mining company.

Half diplomat, half corporate creature, Sir John is the ultimate behind-the-scenes powerbroker – a barely visible fixer, in whom the public and private spheres are perfectly melded. He’s Bilderberg incarnate.

And in the power dynamic between Sir John and the chancellor, Sir John is quite clearly the boss. It’s impossible to know exactly what he was saying during their confab, but I think the gist of it was how high George has to get off the ground when Sir John says “jump”.

Anything higher than that’s fine. Anything less, and he’ll take George’s feet off at the ankles.

After a time, a couple of conference organisers came over to the pair and gave them a heads-up about the cameras. Sir John ushered George inside to continue their meeting, while out on the patio other Bilderberg briefings carried on apace.

Over at one end of the terrace, the Swedish foreign affairs minister, Carl Bildt (left), was being given some international advice by a member of the international advisory board of Goldman Sachs, Professor Victor Halberstadt.

While at another table, the head of the IMF, Christine Lagarde, was discussing fiscal policy with the economist Kevin Warsh, who’s on the board of logistics giant UPS.

The man in the middle of the shot, hidden by Warsh’s helpful hand, is Paul Achleitner, the chairman of Deutsche Bank and board member of Bayer pharmaceuticals. He’s at Bilderberg to make sure that whatever Lagarde does at the IMF, it’s for the best. The best for Deutsche Bank and Bayer pharmaceuticals.

That’s what’s so great about Bilderberg: besides the larger briefings, there are all these quiet opportunities for politicians and policymakers to be set on the straight and narrow by international bankers and corporate leaders.

About 10 minutes after guiding Osborne into the blessed privacy of the hotel, Sir John re-emerged and had a few terse words about the press cameras with one of the conference organisers.

That look he’s giving us – you can see why it gave Major the jitters. It could cut tin. I’m going to go out on a limb here and say he doesn’t like us. Which is a shame, because he’d be a useful friend to have. He can get you free tickets to the Rio Tinto Christmas party, or an invitation to Bilderberg – but you’d have to behave.

It only remains to be seen if Osborne declares his half-hour one-to-one with Sir John in his quarterly ministerial declaration of meetings with external organisations. He definitely had the meeting. That much we could see. And Sir John is entered on the official conference participant list as “Deputy Chairman, Scottish Power” – which definitely counts as an external organisation.

What we witnessed wasn’t the pair of them bumping into each other in a corridor, it was a serious chat. And it happened to be at least partially transparent to us: so will it make it into George’s transparency data? We’ll know in about four months. And if it does, then what about all the other meetings he’s had during his stay in Copenhagen? And what about the ones at last year’s meeting in Watford?

He can’t just say "Chatham House rules" and expect a free pass. That’s like making up a rule in a playground game that suddenly makes you invisible. “If I say ‘Chatham House rules’ you can’t see me!” Sorry, George, we can see you perfectly well. You should have had your meeting with Sir John in the hotel sauna. Or did Princess Beatrix have it block-booked?

Oh, and if you’re reading this on your way back to Westminster, Justine Greening, the same applies to you. Let’s find out if the ministerial transparency declarations mean anything at all.

In his declaration for the period covering last year’s Bilderberg conference, Osborne covered the three-day meeting with heads of banks and giant corporations with the words: "June 2013, Bilderberg Conference, General discussion." Ever so slightly better than nothing, but not by much. A vague, unattributed “general discussion” utterly fails to describe what goes on at Bilderberg.

What happens at Bilderberg is official government business, and the meetings that take place here shouldn’t be treated any differently from any other ministerial meetings.

And if it’s not official business, why have so many of the ministers brought ministerial aides? Why did Bildt bring along the deputy director-general at the Swedish foreign affairs ministry, Jessica
Olausson?

And if Sweden’s deputy director-general at the ministry for foreign affairs is attending the conference, how come her name is not on the participant list? Is she just in Copenhagen to carry Carl’s newspapers? Is that her, striding across the Marriot patio, or have I imagined the whole thing? It’s not impossible I’ve gone bananas, I haven’t slept much the last three nights: too busy staring at photos of Sir John Kerr and his acolytes. It’s enough to turn the mind.

Not to mention the stomach. Although that could be the jar of marinated herring fillets I’ve just eaten. I wouldn’t rule them out – that’s all I’m saying.

Catholic presence at Copenhagen enviro conference

Tuesday, December 08, 2009

by Martin Barillas

There is a notable Catholic presence at the current UN Climate Conference in Copenhagen.

Two Jesuits from OCIPE (the Jesuits' European office) in Brussels, José Ignacio Garcia (CAS) and Jacques Haers (BSE), are at the COP15 Climate Conference in Copenhagen as NGO observers, part of a team of Franciscans International.

They are blogging in English and in Spanish, and reflect their personal reflections and experiences. This blog can be visited at: ignatianeconet.wordpress.com.

The Vatican is also represented at conference. Archbishop Celestino Migliore, the Vatican's permanent observer to the United Nations, is leading the five-person Vatican delegation at the Copenhagen conference. He is scheduled to speak to the UN during the Dec. 7-18 conference.

The delegation included climate expert Marcus Wandinger, and Paolo Conversi, an official of the Vatican Secretariat of State who teaches human ecology at Rome's Pontifical Gregorian University. Caritas Internationalis, the umbrella organization for more than 150 Catholic charities, will also be represented. The Vatican has called for "effective and binding agreement in Copenhagen" that is based on several essential criteria:

A commitment by developed countries to pledge at least $195 billion in public financing per year by 2020 to help developing countries adapt to climate change.

-- An international commitment to keep global warming well below 2 degrees C (about 3.6 degrees F), and to reach a peak in greenhouse gas emissions in the period 2013-2017.

-- Agreement by developed countries to a greenhouse gas emissions target of more than 40% below 1990 levels by 2020, to be reached mainly by domestic emission reductions.

-- That Copenhagen outcomes be legally binding and enforceable.

Adventist leaders comment on Copenhagen climate summit

Caring for environment is "Christian issue," president says

14 Dec 2009, Silver Spring, Maryland, United States
Victor Hulbert/ANN staff

Should Christians be concerned about caring for the environment? The president of the Seventh-day Adventist world church, Jan Paulsen, says "yes," in a video released on YouTube, coinciding with the Copenhagen Summit.

Jan Paulsen, Seventh-day Adventist world church president, comments on the Christian's responsibility to care for the environment in a recent YouTube video. Watch the full video here.

"Quite fundamentally, caring for the environment goes back to our [Adventist] earliest beginnings," Paulsen said.

The archbishop of Canterbury said he thinks Christians should be concerned about climate change. Leaders of the Church of England joined 16 other senior officials from the United Kingdom at Westminster Abbey December 6 for a "stop climate chaos" march.

He is one of many Christian leaders around the world watching proceedings at the current Climate Change Summit in Copenhagen. In a March lecture he stated that "religious communities are failing profoundly in what is expected of us in energizing a response to climate change in society."

He added that "we are near a tipping point" of global warming "and that the church, and other religious communities, are not doing their part to lead the world against it."

Many Christians do not regard the issue of manmade global warming as a significant issue. A Barna research report indicated that only 33 percent of Evangelicals in the United States consider global warming a major problem. Additionally, Australia's legislature recently struck down a carbon limit and China and India have pulled out of the Copenhagen conference.

"Unfortunately I'm not too optimistic that anything dramatic is going to come out of [the Copenhagen summit]," says Samuel Soret, chair of the Department Environmental & Occupational Health at the Adventist Church's Loma Linda University School of Public Health.

"Hard decisions that are binding should be made on curtailing emissions and sorting out issues between developed and developing nations," Soret says. "Climate change is probably one of the most serious health iniquities in the history of humankind."

Though a climate change skeptic, British Adventist Pastor Paul Lockham says he focuses on being a creationist, whose job is to "tend" to the earth.

"Without being too radical I do seek to do my bit. We are called to be stewards of God's creation, not museum keepers, nor wrekers."

Others take a different view. "I am wondering how much of an impact we can really make as 'Christians' knowing what the end of the world will be," says scientist Peter Walton, a global warming skeptic.

"There are innumerable papers and talks by top scientists that completely demolish the weak science behind the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change reports and its sponsor the United Nations Environment Program," he adds.

But Walton pushes the argument in a different direction, quoting the sentiments of author Michael Crichton, who spoke at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. in 2005, saying we "are not morally justified to spend vast sums -- trillions of dollars -- on this speculative issue when finally, and most importantly, we can't predict the future, but we can know the present."

Walton quotes from Crichton's lecture in which he stated, "A child is orphaned by AIDS every 7 seconds and fifty people die of waterborne disease every minute." Walton argues that this does not have to happen, and calls for a refocusing of priorities.

Whether climate change is a reality or not is the subject for rigorous debate. Miroslav Ostrovljanovic, a media student at London's Kings College, said "God said at the creation that humans are supposed to take care of creation. That isn't changed because we know the world will end."

Victor Pilmoor, treasurer for the Adventist Church in Britain, pondered on the climate summit in the light of Genesis 1 and Colossians 3 in a recent worship talk. "The Adventist position should be clear: Our covenantal responsibility as stewards of creation predates sin and its consequence. We show respect for everything that God has given us, regardless of the science," he said.

Debate on global warming notwithstanding, the world community, represented by some 70 country leaders meeting in Copenhagen, is expressing a concern that global society must consider decisive and different course of action on global warming and related issues.

"It's not only the governments that need to do their part. The issue of improving our stewardship of the environment is a personal, individual responsibility as well," says Rajmund Dabrowski, Communication director for the Adventist world church. "As for respect of creation, as a Christian I should be restrained in the use of the world's resources, and balance my wants and needs."

US President Barack Obama has called for world leaders to take action over climate, telling delegates at the Copenhagen summit ''the time for talk is over''.

He said all major economies must put forward action to reduce carbon emissions, and added there had to be a mechanism to review emissions on a global scale.

The Mulch: Frustrated, Obama calls for action

Photo (Courtesy)http://news.stv.tv/environment/144937-obama-hopes-presence-at-copenhagen-can-help-deal/

By By Alison Hamm December 18, 2009

President Barack Obama’s much-anticipated arrival in Copenhagen today has turned from a hopeful sign of success into a grim reality check. Immediately after arriving this morning, Obama joined an unscheduled meeting with 18 other world leaders before the most high-profile session of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (Cop15) began. The deal depends on the United States and China, the world’s leading emitters of greenhouse gas emissions to reach an agreement on a course of action.

At this morning’s session, Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jibao hailed his country’s efforts to curb greenhouse emissions. Wen implied that China would keep its emissions voluntary and unilateral, which was out of step with suggestions that China place its reduction goals within a binding treaty. Then, Brazilian President Luiz Lula da Silva complained about the Cop15 negotiations’ lack of progress.

A visibly frustrated Obama took the stage immediately after (video), saying he was in Copenhagen “not to talk, but to act.” The question is no longer the nature of the challenge, Obama said, but leaders’ capacity to meet it: “For while the reality of climate change is not in doubt, I have to be honest as the world watches us today. I think our ability to take collective action is in doubt right now and it hangs in the balance. I believe we can act boldly and decisively in the face of a common threat.”

David Corn of Mother Jones wrote that Obama’s speech “signaled a global train wreck… Obama was clearly venting. … If an accord is not reached at this summit, Obama remarked, ‘we will be back having the same stale arguments month after month, year after year, perhaps decade after decade all while the danger of climate change grows until it is irreversible.’”

Although Obama didn’t mention China directly, he “took a dig at the way the country has resisted transparency measures for monitoring emissions cuts,” as Jonathan Hiskes writes for Grist. “Is this a sign that the Copenhagen talks may fail to produce even a weak, tentative accord—a so-called ‘fig leaf’ deal that would provide world leaders the barest of cover? That’s one line of speculation. Of course, that could be out of date within a few hours.”

Obama reminded the delegates of the United State’s commitment to action on climate change, reiterating Hillary Clinton’s statement Thursday that the country plans to mobilize $100 billion in financing for developing nations by 2020, but “if, and only if, it is part of a broader accord.”
But is a broader accord still possible in Copenhagen? Grist reports that in a one-on-one meeting after Obama’s speech, Obama and Prime Minister Wen discussed “three of the most contentious areas blocking the path to a climate deal on the last day of the summit: Verification guarantees, financing to help developing nations deal with climate change, and permitted emission levels.” Afterward, they asked their negotiators to meet to search for an agreement.

Although China and the U.S. are the biggest players in these talks, it would be remiss to ignore the work of the G77 block of poor nations who are “still playing hardball,” as Jacob Wheeler writes for In These Times. “They’re on the front lines, their people are already dying in the hundreds of thousands due to climate change, and they don’t have the infrastructure to greenify their infrastructure.”

It looks like the world will continue to wait for our leaders to determine the course of action in Copenhagen. Check out LinkTV’s live stream for Cop15 news as it unfolds.

Obama Arrives in Copenhagen to Press for Climate Accord

By JOHN M. BRODER and ELISABETH ROSENTHAL
Published: December 18, 2009

COPENHAGEN — President Obama arrived here on Friday morning bent on applying a combination of muscle and personal charm to secure a climate change agreement involving nearly 200 countries.

Pool photograph by Peter Macdiarmid
Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton with Prime Minister Gordon Brown of Britain during the World Climate Conference in Copenhagen on Thursday.

He injects himself into a multilayered negotiation that has been far more chaotic and contentious than anticipated — frozen by longstanding divisions between rich and poor nations and a legacy of mistrust of the United States, which has long refused to accept any binding limits on its greenhouse gas emissions.

Negotiators here worked through the night, charged with delivering a draft political agreement by 8 a.m. — ahead of the arrival of dozens of heads of state and high-level ministers for the final stretch of deliberations. That draft agreement was reportedly passed off to a group of country representatives and United Nations and European Commission officials who were examining it in a closed meeting.

The world is looking to Mr. Obama to wrest some credible success from this process. And on Thursday, with almost 120 heads of state and government already in attendance, there were some signs that a meaningful political deal might be at hand, including a slight shift in China’s position and a pledge by the United States to help the poorest nations cope financially with global warming.

But top negotiators here said that the talks could also prove a humiliating failure, because China and the United States, the world’s two largest emitters, remain deeply divided over a number of difficult problems.

Mr. Obama is putting a measure of his and the nation’s prestige on the line by entering a debate with so much still unresolved. It was only 11 weeks ago that he left this same city empty-handed after pleading for Chicago to be selected as the site of the 2016 Olympics.

But the maneuvering and brinksmanship that have characterized the final week of the talks are also a sign of their seriousness; never before have global leaders come so close to a meaningful agreement to reduce the greenhouse gases linked to warming the planet.

The administration provided the talks with a palpable boost on Thursday when Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton declared that the United States would contribute its share of $100 billion a year in long-term financing to help poor nations adapt to climate change.

The administration had remained silent for months as other major economic powers came forward with similar or even more generous financial proposals.

A senior Obama administration official said the announcement was carefully timed to resuscitate the talks before Mr. Obama’s arrival.

“It’s a negotiation,” he explained.

But Mrs. Clinton’s offer came with two significant conditions. First, the 192 nations involved in the talks here must reach a comprehensive political agreement that takes effect immediately. Second, and more critically, all nations must agree to some form of verification — she repeatedly used the term “transparency” — to ensure they are meeting their environmental promises.

China, the world’s largest producer of greenhouse gases, has brought the talks to a virtual standstill all week over this issue, which its leaders claim to be an affront to national sovereignty.

But the Chinese balkiness on the issue is matched in large measure by Mr. Obama’s own constraints. The Senate has not yet acted on a climate bill that the president needs to make good on his promises of emissions reductions and on the financial support that he has now promised the rest of the world.

“The president and his team have been doing everything possible to create a deal that is fair to the U.S. and facilitates international agreement,” said Paul Bledsoe of the National Commission on Energy Policy, a bipartisan advisory group. “But if the Chinese will not accept monitoring of emissions, then a deal is not worth doing.”

China appeared to crack the door a bit toward a system of reporting its emissions and its actions to reduce them on Thursday. He Yafei, the vice foreign minister, repeated China’s opposition to any intrusive international monitoring regime in a news conference on Thursday. But he said his country would consider voluntary “international exchanges” of information on its climate programs.

Administration officials here were not ready to publicly declare any breakthroughs in their talks with China and other nations on verification measures.

“We’re making progress on all the outstanding issues with the Chinese,” a senior administration official said in a conference call with reporters. “But it’s still a very challenging task. It’s impossible to anticipate where this will end.”

A contingent of Democratic leaders in Congress flew in Thursday to highlight support for the administration’s position at the summit meeting. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and a number of House committee chairmen declared that the climate change bill they passed in June would provide a large share of the money needed to redeem the administration’s promises. They met privately with a number of delegations to urge them to encourage China and a number of other nations in the so-called Group of 77 developing countries to drop their objections to the proposed agreement.

“I believe the leaders appreciate the magnitude of the challenge they’re facing and will come to an agreement by the end of the week,” said Representative Edward J. Markey, Democrat of Massachusetts. “And the $100 billion really does help with the concerns of the G-77. And now we’re left with China.”

Republicans mounted a counteroffensive. Senator James M. Inhofe, Republican of Oklahoma and Congress’s most vocal climate change skeptic, showed up in the press area of the Bella Center early on Thursday to deliver what he called a reality check to the proceedings here.

“There is going to be no cap and trade or binding legislation in the United States,” he said. “It’s dead. It’s not going to happen.”

Somewhat more substantively, in Washington, a group of House Republicans said they planned to introduce a resolution formally disapproving of the Environmental Protection Agency’s finding that greenhouse gases endangered public health and safety, a step that could lead to economy-wide regulation of such emissions.

The Republicans said the finding would lead to job losses and take money out of the pockets of consumers “so that radical environmentalists can wage a war against nature.”

The resolution, if it passes, will not have the force of law.

The $100 billion figure proposed by Mrs. Clinton is similar to estimates by the European Union of the needed contributions, although the amount is below the $150 billion or so that experts at the European Union have pushed for.

Mrs. Clinton said the money would be a mix of public and private funds, including “alternative sources of finance,” but declined to explain what that might mean. Nor did she say what the American share of the fund would be, although typically in such multilateral financial efforts the United States contributes about 20 percent. She said the money should contain billions of dollars to slow deforestation, which contributes to concentrations of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

Some delegates and observers said that Mrs. Clinton’s announcement might weaken the solidarity of the G-77 developing countries with China.

Apparently attempting to appeal to these divisions, the United States Congressional delegation immediately went into a meeting with Indian officials, focusing on verification of emissions reductions programs, Ms. Pelosi said.

Prime Minister Wen Jiabao, meanwhile, appeared focused on consolidating China’s G-77 ties, meeting with representatives of Brazil, Bangladesh, Trinidad, Ethiopia and Sudan since his arrival on Wednesday night.

The head of Brazil’s delegation, Dilma Rousseff, said her country, too, objected to “intrusive verification,” and felt strongly that the Kyoto track should be maintained, for now anyway.

“No one is going to give up a bird in the hand for a bird that hasn’t been introduced to us yet,” she said.

Fander Falconí, Ecuador’s foreign minister, was skeptical of the American financial offer.

“What we really need are firm mechanisms to reduce emissions from industrialized countries,” he said. “Financial mechanisms are useful, but not central, not a solution.”

Hope in Copenhagen

Tuesday, December 15, 2009
By Megan Sweas

Having spent part of my Thanksgiving vacation in Hopenhagen, as the locals are calling it, I have been optimistic that this round of climate change talks would achieve something.

But now that I'm on the other side of the ocean from the talks, it's hard to keep that optimism up. I admit that I am not following the talks too closely, though the "news" from the Daily Show was distressing--both that limos are being brought in to cart around dignitaries and that some loud people (on FOX News, of course) are denying climate change.
.
.
I’m glad for Catholic News Service’s update on the talks, in which we get the view from the developing world.
.
I feel that I am represented well by the Catholic Church at least, and I’m thankful that the pope released his World Peace Day message about climate change now (the official day is January 1).
While angry protesters have caused some problems, there are a number of peaceful protesters as well. I thought this idea of ringing church bells 350 times to signify 350 ppm of carbon dioxide, the safe upper limit according to the latest science, was unique. And more than 11 million have signed this petition. I am inspired by the women religious/ecotheologians that Meghan writes about in her blog post.

But I can't help worrying that nothing or little will happen.
.
This photo is of a new statue placed in the water near Copenhagen's famous Little Mermaid. A fat woman, representing rich, Western countries, rides on the back of a skinny African man, representing the poor. I was distressed by a comment on FOX (see the Daily Show) that said the rest of the world just wants to bring the U.S. standard of living in the down.

This statement discounts the fact that not everyone in the United States can afford to live in McMansions in the suburbs and drive around SUVs. And most Catholics know that de-emphasizing the material in favor of the spiritual will actually give you a higher quality of life.
“Live simply so that others may simply live” is a good prescription for happiness. God’s love is unlimited, but Earth's bounty is limited. Especially at this time of year when waste is so high (read my post on having a green Christmas from last year), we should try to live by our values and remember that the poor suffer because of the way we treat the Earth.

Hurricane Expert Rips Climate Fears

By: Dr. William Gray

The following commentary is from Atmospheric Scientist and Hurricane forecasting specialist Dr. William Gray. Gray is the renowned hurricane forecaster and Emeritus Professor of Atmospheric Science at Colorado State University (CSU) and originally published this article on ClimateDepot.com.

Had I not devoted my entire career of more than half a century to the study and forecasting of meteorological and climate events, I would have likely been concerned over the possibility of humans causing serious global climate degradation.

There has been an unrelenting quarter century of one-sided indoctrination of the Western world by the media and by various scientists and governments concerning a coming carbon dioxide (CO2) induced global warming disaster. These warming scenarios have been orchestrated by a combination of environmentalists, vested interest scientists wanting larger federal grants and publicity, the media which profits from doomsday scenario reporting, governmental bureaucrats who want more power over our lives, and socialists who want to level-out global living standards. These many alarmist groups appear to have little concern over whether their global warming prognostications are accurate, however. And they most certainly are not. The alarmists believe they will be able to scare enough of our citizens into believing their propaganda that the public will be willing to follow their advice on future energy usage and agree to a lowering of their standard of living in the name of climate salvation.

Rising levels of CO2 are not near the threat these alarmists have portrayed them to be. There has yet to be a honest and broad scientific debate on the basic science of CO2's influence on global temperature. The global climate models predicting large amounts of global warming for a doubling of CO2 are badly flawed. They should never have been used to establish government climate policy.

The last century's global warming of about 1 degree Fahrenheit is not a consequence of human activities. This warming is primarily the result of a multi-century changes in the globe's deep ocean circulation. These ocean current changes have lead to a small and gradual increase in the globe's temperature. We are coming out of the Little Ice Age and into a generally warmer climate state. This is akin to the warmer global climate of the Medieval Period. We can do nothing but adapt to such long period natural temperature changes.

The recent "Climategate" revelations coming out of the University of East Anglia are but the tip of a giant iceberg of a well organized international climate warming conspiracy that has been gathering momentum for the last 25 years. This conspiracy would become much more manifest if all the e-mails of the publically funded climate research groups of the US and of foreign governments were ever made public.

The disastrous economic consequences of restricting CO2 emissions from the present by as much as 20 percent by 2020 and 80 percent by 2050 (as being proposed in Copenhagen) have yet to be digested by the general public. Such CO2 output decreases would cause very large increases in our energy costs, a lowering of our standard of living, and do nothing of significance to improve our climate.

The cap-and-trade bill presently before Congress, the likely climate agreements coming out of the Copenhagen Conference, and the EPA's just announced decision to treat CO2 as a pollutant represents a grave threat to the industrial world's continued economic development. We should not allow these proposals to restrict our economic growth. Any United Nations climate bill our country might sign would act as an infringement on our country's sovereignty.

Climate Deal Likely to Bear Big Price Tag

Protesters dressed as aliens in Copenhagen on Tuesday demanded action on climate change, as more than 190 nations gathered for the second day of the climate talks. The delegates heard appeals for urgent action from the United Nations and from officials of countries endangered by warmer temperatures, rising sea levels and other damage such as melting glaciers.

WASHINGTON — If negotiators reach an accord at the climate talks in Copenhagen it will entail profound shifts in energy production, dislocations in how and where people live, sweeping changes in agriculture and forestry and the creation of complex new markets in global warming pollution credits.

So what is all this going to cost?

The short answer is trillions of dollars over the next few decades. It is a significant sum but a relatively small fraction of the world’s total economic output. In energy infrastructure alone, the transformational ambitions that delegates to the United Nations climate change conference are expected to set in the coming days will cost more than $10 trillion in additional investment from 2010 to 2030, according to a new estimate from the International Energy Agency.

As scary as that number sounds, the agency said that the costs would ramp up relatively slowly and be largely offset by economic benefits in new jobs, improved lives, more secure energy supplies and a reduced danger of climate catastrophe. Most of the investment will come from private rather than public funds, the agency contends.

“People often ask about the costs,” said Kevin Parker, the global head of Deutsche Bank Asset Management, who tracks climate policy for the bank. “But the figures people tend to cite don’t take into account conservation and efficiency measures that are easily available. And they don’t look at the cost of inaction, which is the extinction of the human race. Period.”

Whatever global warming’s effects — and most scientific projections are less dire — there are also varying estimates of the economic costs of failing to act to address the problem soon, some of them very high.

In Copenhagen, some of the most intense and difficult discussions for negotiators center on any potential agreement’s near-term financial arrangements. Some of the poorest and most vulnerable nations are calling for a gigantic transfer of wealth from the industrialized world to island nations and countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America that are most likely to feel the ravages of a changing climate.

Many poor nations are insisting that wealthier nations make deeper cuts in their emissions and contribute more money to help the poorer countries, a split that widened in Copenhagen on Tuesday as competing documents of a potential agreement circulated.

Over time, some of the hundreds of billions of dollars the poorer countries are demanding will begin to flow, as global carbon markets become established and governments in rich countries begin to open the spigot of public spending.

But in the meantime, the industrialized countries have proposed a relatively modest fund of about $10 billion a year for each of the next three or four years to help poorer countries adapt. Even that effort remains the subject of conflict over which countries should contribute how much, what body should oversee the spending and how to determine which projects qualify for finance.

President Obama’s spokesman said last week that the president supported a short-term fund to aid developing nations and that the United States would pay “its fair share.” In many multilateral efforts, the United States picks up a quarter to a third of the tab.

“Providing this assistance,” the White House statement said, “is not only a humanitarian imperative — it’s an investment in our common security, as no climate change accord can succeed if it does not help all countries reduce their emissions.”

The money would be used to help developing nations reduce emissions by switching to renewable energy sources like wind and solar and by compensating landowners for not cutting down or burning forests, a major source of carbon dioxide emissions. Other funds might be used to adjust to effects of a changing climate, like rising sea levels, by building flood walls or relocating settlements to higher ground.

Mr. Obama will travel to Copenhagen on Dec. 18 to attend the final day of the meeting, a sign that the White House believes that a far-reaching accord, including deals on some of the sticky financial issues, is possible.

“This is the question that is being posed in Copenhagen,” said Robert N. Stavins, director of the environmental economics program at Harvard University. “How much money do the developed countries have to put on the table to bring developing countries into the conversation?”

Mr. Stavins said that the bulk of the money would have to come from private investment because, he said, it was “inconceivable” that the governments of the wealthy countries would come up with adequate financing and also because private entities spent money much more efficiently.

The climate and energy legislation passed by the House in June sets aside roughly $8 billion a year for assistance to developing countries by 2030, Mr. Stavins said. That figure, he suggested, represents the upper limit of public financial support from the United States.

The perspective from the developing world is, not surprisingly, somewhat different.

Álvaro Umaña Quesada, the leader of Costa Rica’s climate delegation, said that it was important to the developing world to have early resources and a predictable flow of long-term financing. He said that the $10 billion in so-called quick start financing that was now on the table was adequate but that such spending had to rise to roughly $80 billion and as much as $150 billion a year by 2020.

“That is not very much compared to the size of the world economy or the financial crisis bailouts,” he said. “There are great needs for adaptation, where the small island nations are really at risk. Some of them are one severe weather event away from disappearing.”

The European Union has endorsed a fund of that size; the United States remains noncommittal. The Obama administration has asked for $1.2 billion in climate-related financing in the 2010 budget, far below the needs being discussed at Copenhagen. But administration officials said they would seek more money for international climate programs in future years.

Perhaps the most detailed analysis of the financing needs of any climate change agreement comes from Project Catalyst, an initiative of the European Union and ClimateWorks, a foundation-supported policy group based in San Francisco. The group’s work has helped shape the negotiations in Copenhagen.

The group estimates that roughly $100 billion will be needed by 2020 to finance climate-change programs in the developing world. About half could come from the growing global market in carbon emissions credits under a cap-and-trade system, which would be worth an estimated $2 trillion a year by 2020.

A cap-and-trade system is already operating in Europe and is under consideration by Congress. Such a system sets a ceiling on the carbon emissions of a given country or industry and allows trading of pollution permits within the cap. As the overall limit on emissions grows tighter, the price of pollution permits rises, creating a sizable market in carbon credits.

Countries would grant some of the carbon market allowances directly to energy and environmental programs in the developing world, with other funds coming from a relatively small fee on each transaction.

An additional $10 billion to $20 billion would come from taxes on fuels used in aviation and shipping. The rest, perhaps $25 billion to $35 billion, would be loans and grants from industrialized nations to poorer countries, split roughly three ways among the United States, the European Union and Canada, Japan and Australia.

“The good news is that everybody now is supporting our proposal for financing,” said Dr. Umaña, the Costa Rican delegate. “The bad news is that it’s happening 15 years too late. Without real money on the table, this will be a disaster.”

US climate agency declares CO2 public danger

Environmental Protection Agency declaration allows it to impose emissions cuts without agreement of reluctant Senate

The Obama administration adopted its climate change plan B today, formally declaring carbon dioxide a public danger so that it can cut greenhouse gas emissions even without the agreement of a reluctant Senate.

The timing of the announcement – in the opening hours of the UN's Copenhagen climate change summit – prevents Barack Obama from arriving at the talks without concrete evidence that America will do its bit to cut the emissions that cause global warming.

"Climate change has now become a household issue," said Lisa Jackson, head of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), adding that the evidence of climate change was real and increasingly alarming. "This administration will not ignore science or the law any longer, nor will we ignore the responsibility we owe to our children and our grandchildren."

The announcement gives the EPA a legal basis for capping emissions from major sources such as coal power plants, as well as cars. Jackson said she hoped it would help to spur a deal in Copenhagen.

The EPA action had been seen as a backstop should Congress fail to pass climate change law. Obama and other officials had repeatedly said they would prefer to pass legislation, but that prospect has grown increasingly remote. The House of Representatives narrowly passed a climate change bill in June, but the proposals have stalled in the Senate.

Jackson said the EPA's regulations, which would come into effect from next spring, would not be too onerous, applying only to facilities emitting more than 25,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide a year.

The oil and manufacturing industries, which have opposed climate change action, said the move was overly politicised, and warned that the new regulations would be tied up in lawsuits.

The US Chamber of Commerce, also sceptical on global warming, said the move would hurt the economy. "An endangerment finding from the EPA could result in a top-down, command-and-control regime that will choke off growth by adding new mandates to virtually every major construction and renovation project," said Thomas Donohue, the chamber's president.

Jackson is to address the Copenhagen meeting on Wednesday, while Obama will join more than 100 other world leaders in the Danish capital on the final day of the conference, on 18 December.

The endangerment declaration dates from a supreme court decision in 2007 ordering the EPA to make a ruling on whether carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas emissions were a pollutant subject to the Clean Air Act of the 1970s.

The Facade of “Global Salvationism”

Terry Melanson (4/12/2009)

According to Mr. Henderson, the great psycho-wave of the past 35 years is “global salvationism.” This quasi-religious belief has two ill-fitting articles of faith: environmental alarmism, and the assertion that Third World poverty is in some way due to the West taking more than its fair share of global resources. Both problems are alleged to require top-down global political solutions, including giant corporations accepting more “social responsibility.”

The focus of this global master-plan is the bland but subversive notion of “sustainable development,” that without extensive UN-administered government controls the world is going to Hades in a handbasket …

- Peter Foster, “The Prince of Power [Maurice Strong],” Financial Post (May 19, 2005)

I can’t think of a better way to put Climategate into proper perspective than to revisit a 1998 Financial Post editorial titled “Global Warming: The Real Agenda.” Its author, Terence Corcoran, quoted from statements given to the Calgary Herald by the former Environment Minister, Christine Stewart.

As “minister of the environment, I am very worried about global warming,” Stewart said, “no matter if the science is phony, there are collateral environmental benefits.”

“Environment Canada, therefore,” Corcoran commented immediately after, “is prepared to act on global warming even if there’s no such thing as global warming. On the strength of phony science, the federal government would still be willing to impose new taxes on energy consumption, cut economic growth, reduce our standard of living, and create bookshelves filled with new regulation governing most facets of the lives of Canadians.”

And further:

In another statement quoted by the Herald, Ms. Stewart gave another reason for adopting the religion of global warming. ‘Climate change [provides] the greatest chance to bring about justice and equality in the world.’ Here she gets closer to the core motivation of some of the leading global warming activists. Where socialism’s attempt at a global redistribution of wealth ended in economic catastrophe, global warming is being wheeled in as the next new economic crusade.
Consolidating Ms. Stewart’s statements, we reach some horrific conclusions. Whether global warming actually exists is irrelevant. It is, in the hands of government and environmental activists, a convenient front for the introduction of programs and economic policies that Canadians - and most citizens of the world - would not otherwise accept.

Ms. Stewart, perhaps unintentionally, has identified the two key foundations of the global warming movement. One is based in environmentalism, which essentially claims that human beings are a problem in nature. The other foundation is the old business of economic redistribution. Both these movements are linked in the international climate change treaty Canada signed in Kyoto. Environment Canada has already given up trying to examine the science. It never really tried. Instead, it spends hundreds of millions of dollars churning out propaganda on the hypothetical effects of global warming.

Putting aside for the moment the socialist proclivities of environmentalists, one salient point brought up in the article was their overt misanthropy – typical of which are statements such as these:

We have wished, we ecofreaks, for a disaster, or for dramatic social change to come and bomb us into the Stone Age, where we might live like Indians in our valley, with our localism, our Appropriate Technology, our gardens, our homemade religion, guilt-free at last.
- Stewart Brand, 1980 (quoted in: Rodes and Odell, A Dictionary of Environmental Quotations, Johns Hopkins University Press, 1997, p. 90)

Curing a body of cancer requires radical and invasive therapy, and therefore, curing the biosphere of the human virus will also require a radical and invasive approach.

- Paul Watson (founder of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society), May 04, 2007
We have become a plague upon [ourselves and upon] the Earth…Until such a time as Homo sapiens should decide to rejoin nature, some of us can only hope for the right virus to come along.
- David M. Graber, Los Angeles Times, 22 October 1989 (in Rodes and Odell, op. cit., p. 149)
[T]he hopeful alternative to the extinction of millions of species of plants and animals is the voluntary extinction of one species: Homo sapiens… us. …When every human chooses to stop breeding, Earth’s biosphere will be allowed to return to its former glory…

- The Voluntary Human Extinction Movement
Given the total, absolute, and final disappearance of Homo sapiens, then, not only would the Earth’s Community of life continue to exist but in all probability its well-being would be enhanced. Our presence, in short, is not needed. And if we were to take the standpoint of that Life Community and give voice to its true interest, the ending of the human epoch on Earth would most likely be greeted with a hearty “Good riddance!”

- Paul W. Taylor, Respect for Nature: A Theory of Environmental Ethics, Princeton University Press, 1986, p. 115

And so on.

There’s some primitivist longing (ala Rousseau or Weishaupt, with a bit of Unabomber- and Gaia-worship for good measure) in the mix, but the main sickness is a bad strain of eco-nihilism – originally diagnosed, perhaps, in George Reisman’s “The Toxicity of Environmentalism.”

Eco-Socialism; Eco-Fascism; Eco-Imperialism

There’s a quote – traced to a single source – attributed to Communist Party USA National Chairman Gus Hall in 1972: “in the struggle to save the environment….we must be the leaders of these movements…. Human society cannot basically stop the destruction of the environment under capitalism. Socialism is the only structure that makes it possible.”

If the quote is genuine, apparently his wish has come true: ample evidence can be had – from the “horse’s mouth” – in books such as The Greening of Marxism; Marx’s Ecology: Materialism and Nature; or in wiki offerings (such as this, this, this, and this). There’s nary a mention of this, though; much less the validity, and inherent hypocrisy, of this.

The “Wise Men” of Globalism

While it’s inconclusive whether the scientists at East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit (CRU) are infected with fatalistic, anti-man Malthusian angst, they have in the past received some intriguing email.

On Thu, 27 Mar 2003, self-proclaimed president of “Earth Government,” Canadian Germain Dufour, sent CRU his Earth Government April newsletter titled “Formation of Earth Government for the good of all.” Dufour is perhaps an idealist, but his longing for a one world government is shared by the transnational elite (their think tanks in conjunction with the behemoth UN/UNESCO/NGO/Foundation apparatus) and, presumably, the high priests of climatology as well.

(Contrary to some articles, blogs, and forum posts on the web, it is unlikely that “Earth Government” Germain Dufour is one and the same as the Belgian Germain Dufour, who, according to the French journal l’Humanité in 1999, was a labour activist, a former worker-priest, former green party senator [Ecolo], and a Belgian Communist Party candidate. For one, Joseph-Germain Dufour – if his auto-bio is legit – was in Canada in the ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s,establishing academic credentials, while studying and working on environmental projects; while the “capuchin Monk” Germain Dufour was variously involved in socialist Belgian labour politics as well as being featured in a 1997 documentary called “Seeker of Silence.” See also the photo comparison below.)
Eco-totalitarianism integrates zealous ideologues, of seemingly disparate persuasions, who collude for top-down control of the planet’s resources. “The climate conference in Copenhagen,” Bilderberg-vetted Herman Van Rompuy said at his first press conference as the newly “appointed” President of the EU, “is another step toward the global management of our planet.” Likewise, the totalitarian bent of the original “wise man” of environmentalism, Maurice Strong, has not diminished with age. In a recent essay for the World Policy Journal, he spewed forth that “our concepts of ballot-box democracy may need to be modified to produce strong governments capable of making difficult decisions.” “This is a man, we might remember,” writes Peter Foster of the Financial Post:

who welcomes the collapse of industrial civilization, and has described the prospect of billions of environmental deaths as a “glimmer of hope.” My editor didn’t believe me when I wrote this, so here’s what Mr. Strong actually said, in his autobiography, in a section described as a report to the shareholders, Earth Inc, dated 2031: “And experts have predicted that the reduction of the human population may well continue to the point that those who survive may not number more than the 1.61 billion people who inhabited the Earth at the beginning of the 20th century. A consequence, yes, of death and destruction — but in the end a glimmer of hope for the future of our species and its potential for regeneration.”

Strong’s Green-comrade is, of course, Mikhail Gorbachev.

A recent article by Kim Campbell – former Prime Minister of Canada, founding member of the Club of Madrid, and Senior Fellow of the Gorbachev Foundation of North America – is titled “Gorbachev continues to shape history.”

“Gorbachev is today not merely a man of historical significance,” Campbell writes affectionately, “but a man who continues to shape history with his world-changing ways.” Behind the scenes he continues “working the world leaders’ circuit selling climate change — the UN in Geneva in early October, the Club of Rome in Amsterdam two weeks later, Nobel laureates in Berlin and the Club of Madrid last week — and then on to Copenhagen next month.”

The Club of Rome has been ramping up its activities as COP15 approaches. The conference that Gorbachev had attended in October was, according to one of its websites, the “last of seven stepping stones, seven global meetings, starting in Turin early 2008, in the run-up to the United Nations Climate Change Conference being held in Copenhagen in December 2009, on which depends so much.” Club of Rome Global Assembly 2009 featured speakers such as global warming propagandist James Hansen (whose presentation was titled “Global Warming Time Bomb: Actions Needed to Avert Disaster”), and was attended by Bilderberg luminary Queen Beatrix.

Queen Beatrix of the Netherlans and Gorbachev at the Club of Rome Global Assembly 2009

“The Club of Rome was deliberately fashioned to influence policy,” wrote one of its founders, Alexander King in 1979. It originated 12 years earlier:

when Dr Aurelio Peccei, an Italian industrialist, met the present author, a British scientist. They agreed on what later became the central concern of the Club of Rome: to find solutions to the tangle of interacting problems, now facing all mankind. So far the Club’s greatest impact on world opinion was the report it commissioned from The Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Limits to Growth.

The interdisciplinary concept is predominant in this and the Club’s five subsequent reports. Regular meetings of Club members with Heads of States and other high officials is a further important activity. Like its small and local precursor, the Lunar Society of Birmingham, two hundred years ago, the international Club of Rome derives its strength from its eminent membership of private citizens, working together as a catalyst and a spur to the world’s conscience.

It comes as no surprise that one of the inspirations behind the work of the Club of Rome was Harrison Brown. J. Rennie Whitehead, one of the founders of the Canadian Association of the Club of Rome (CACOR), writes:

In 1954, Dr. Harrison Brown of the USA had written a book The Challenge of Man’s Future, in which he outlined, with great clarity and foresight, most of the major problems that, fifteen years later, became the preoccupation of the Club of Rome and which now, forty years later, seem to be even further away from solution. Even today, Harrison Brown’s book is still one of the best analytical presentations of the probable consequences of population growth and the inevitable shift from fossil fuels to other sources of energy.

As you may recall “mass sterilization” John Holdren was profoundly influenced by Harrison’s 1954 book as well. Like Harrison and Holdren, pessimistic Malthusian preoccupation has always been the raison d’être of the Club of Rome. Holdren was co-author on a book and few papers with Club of Rome luminary Paul R. Ehrlich. In the latter’s 1968 The Population Bomb (pp. 130-1), we find the stark admission that:

The first task is population control at home. How do we go about it? Many of my colleagues feel that some sort of compulsory birth regulation would be necessary to achieve such control. One plan often mentioned involves the addition of temporary sterilants to water supplies or staple food. Doses of the antidote would be carefully rationed by the government to produce the desired population size.

Another admission, in 1991, was that the Club of Rome used “environmentalism” as a vehicle for misanthropic gloom and doom:

In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill … All these dangers are caused by human intervention and it is only through changed attitudes and behaviour that they can be overcome. The real enemy, then, is humanity itself.

- Alexander King, Bertrand Schneider (co-founder and secretary, respectively, of the Club of Rome), The First Global Revolution, p. 115

Lest the reader entertain the incredulous notion that these globalization kingpins have somehow redeemed themselves, and have all joined the choir; one need only peruse the 2007 CACOR Proceedings.

An article by Fred G. Thompson (“Turning the Elephant Around”), in particular, has this to say:
[W]e have temporarily acquired the means to defy Nature, it is only for a short time. If we do not design policies to halt, and then reverse population growth, Nature by default will soon exact a most punishing solution. [...] The reduction of human population by default means in plain language the reduction of human numbers by war, disease and famine. [...]

Over-consumption is, of course, the basic cause of polluting the atmosphere and global warming. So it must be dealt with.

One possible scenario would be the imposition of birth control by a world government which possesses the capacity to enforce it globally. Not a pretty scene, but an alternative to global war, disease and starvation.

(Notice that it’s “Nature” with a capital “N”.)

In the same issue Charles Beaubien proposed that the Club of Rome work toward a super-ordinate (of a superior kind, rank, status) “World Community,” that “would make of the quarrelsome UN a central World Government, interacting with present national governments (minus today’s Security Council).”

And only a few weeks ago there was a press release by Francesco Stipo, Director of the USA Club of Rome. He was promoting his book, World Federalist Manifesto: Guide to Political Globalization, at a National Press Club Luncheon. “A world government is the only solution to world problems, such as climate change and the global economic crisis,” he wrote. “A world confederation that respects the sovereignty of world nations and that deals with the issues of international economy that cannot be dealt by one nation alone.” Which is it – a Federation or a Confederation? The title of the book suggests the former, while the latter seems like a bit of semantics to trick those who may still entertain the notion of patriotism.

The Club of Rome are also funds and supports the major players of the New Age apparatus. An offshoot was established in 1978 by Club of Rome founder Aurelio Peccei and Ervin Laszlo. The Club of Budapest is a network of consciousness and evolutionary thinkers – new age, communitarian, change agent (paradigm shift), deep ecology humanists – who comprise a World Wisdom Council (WWC) and a World Commission on Global Consciousness and Spirituality.
Dr. Ervin Laszlo is President of the Club of Budapest. He’s a philosopher and “Systems Theory” expert; the “author of more than 400 papers and articles and over eighty books of which the most recent are ‘Science and the Akashic Field’ (2007) and ‘Quantum Shift in the Global Brain’ (2008), and co-founder and president of the board of trustees of the WorldShift Foundation”; and a purveyor of an imminent world shift in 2012 – the last of which fits like a glove with the scaremongering tactics of his Club of Rome benefactors.

In short, the “Aquarian Conspiracy” first identified by Marilyn Ferguson in the 1980s has not only achieved full bloom, but has graduated from infiltration into a consensus-making, global establishment of “powerful networks, partnerships and collaborations in the interest of fostering growing circles and forces for creative transformation on a planetary scale.”

America - A Nation of Willing Slaves!

Volume XXVIII Issue XII December 2009Last Trumpet Ministries, PO Box 806, Beaver Dam, WI 53916Fax: 920-887-2626 Internet: http://lasttrumpetnewsletter.org/2009/

America - A Nation of Willing Slaves!

"Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you. For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men. As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and waxen rich…..The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?"

Jeremiah 5:25-27, 31

"And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the lamb slain from the foundation of the world. If any man have an ear, let him hear. He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints."

Revelation 13:8-10

"But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you. I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive."

John 5:42-43

In this issue of the Last Trumpet Newsletter, we will examine a condition that has developed in our erstwhile great nation, which has brought us to a time such as never was. We are living in a time that is unique in our nation's history, and very few people are taking notice. The United States of America was founded by men and women that wanted to escape oppression and to be free, and great effort was exerted to gain that freedom. We now live in the dark reality of a strong-armed and oppressive federalism that has all of the characteristics and potential of imperial Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome. Indeed, we are on the very brink of dictatorship in a new world order, just as predicted in various places in the Scriptures. How can this be happening here? Just one generation ago, it would not have been believed to be possible. I was born in the year 1950 and have lived in Wisconsin all of my life. I can truly say that this country is no longer the one in which I was born. We are living in a time when people want to be slaves of a government that will feed them, medicate them, entertain them, indoctrinate them, confiscate the fruit of their labors, and bury them.

We know from reading the Scripture how it angered the Almighty God when Israel complained in the wilderness and wanted to go back and be slaves in Egypt. Instead of seeking the Lord's help, they were so ready to give up their freedom and liberty for the so-called social security benefits of Egypt. It is the same in America today. Where is the dignity, integrity, and honor that was once so important to free men and women?

When I think upon all this, I am reminded of the words of the illuministic futurist, Aldous Huxley, who died in 1963. Huxley was a writer for the Illuminati. He was also a mystic who advocated the use of psychedelic drugs. Huxley also wrote Brave New World and numerous essays. Consider some of his words as follows: "We are in a process of developing a whole series of techniques which will enable the controlling oligarchy to get people to actually love their servitude. A really efficient totalitarian state would be one in which the all-powerful executive of political bosses and their army of managers control a population of slaves who do not have to be coerced, because they love their servitude. To make them love it is the task assigned, in present-day totalitarian states, to ministries of propaganda, newspaper editors, and school teachers…..The greatest triumphs of propaganda have been accomplished, not by doing something, but by refraining from doing. Great is truth, but still greater, from a practical point of view, is silence about truth."

All things considered, we are most certainly moving across the threshold into a one-world dictatorship under the direction of Satan himself. Satan and all who submit to him will be quickly destroyed by our coming Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. One urgent question that demands an immediate answer is: where will you spend eternity? You now have a glorious opportunity to surrender you heart, soul, and mind to the Lord Jesus. He will accept you and save you if you do. Do it now, before your time runs out!

Dark Oppression by the Father of Lies!

It has been truly stated that a man's judgment is only as good as his information. Thus, in order to alter the judgment of people, you must control the information they receive. Here let it be noted that the White House brazenly boasted that they control the news media! This was revealed by the White House Communications Director, Anita Dunn. Dunn also was caught on tape while speaking to high school students in June, stating that one of her two favorite political philosophers was Communist Chinese leader Mao Tse tung. (1) Chairman Mao, as he was known, was a vicious Communist responsible for the mass murdering of tens of millions of people, and this is one of the heroes of Anita Dunn, handpicked by Barack Obama!

It is a sad fact that regardless of what the controlled press may say, Barack Obama is most assuredly illegally seated in the White House. He is not legal because he cannot produce a true and valid copy of his birth certificate proving that he was born in the United States. Here let it be noted that on Sunday, June 27th, 2004, the East African Standard Newspaper featured a headline as follows: "Kenyan-born Obama all set for U.S. Senate." (2) I have a copy of this page in front of me, but when attempting to find a larger copy, I was not surprised to find it had disappeared from the Internet. We must also note that during a 2004 Senate debate Alan Keyes stated that Obama was not a natural born citizen of the United States. Obama laughed and said to Keyes, "Only the President has to be a natural born citizen." (3)

Obama is not an American, much less, an American President. He is totally out of touch with America. A prime example of this is his gross insensitivity to the horrifying shooting that took place at Fort Hood in Texas on the 5th day of the 11th month of this year. It happened midway between Halloween and Armistice Day, which is celebrated at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month each year. Two days after the shooting was Friday the 13th, and the grief was heavy for the thirteen that died and for the many wounded. The occult implications of this blood sacrifice should be obvious. The witches and Freemasons that control our Government always work their plan around the celestial calendar. We must note that when Obama was informed, he was about to address a Tribal Nations Conference, and instead of stopping and addressing the tragic issue, he opened his speech to the Indians with a light, almost joking attitude, including a "shout out" to Dr. Joe (Medicine) Crow. There was no serious or somber reaction to the tragedy at all as he briefly mentioned it. (4) We must also take note that Obama played down the fact that the shooter, a psychiatrist known as Major Hasan, is an Islamic extremist who shouted, "Allahu Akbar," as he began to pump lead into the bodies of the soldiers and staff at Fort Hood. (5) The words Allahu Akbar mean "Allah is great." We are made to wonder how many other Islamic extremists are in the upper levels of our military and government as programmed units of destruction. It is a fact that Major Nidal Malik Hasan was a graduate of Virginia Tech, where 32 people were mass murdered in 2007. (6) There is a spiritual connection in all of this, and mind control is a program involving occult activity.

Everything about the Obama Administration seems wrong. Even Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is not permitted to be the Secretary of State under the United States Constitution. The organization known as Judicial Watch has filed lawsuits to challenge the appointment of Hillary Clinton because the U.S. Constitution clearly states the following: "No Senator or Representative shall, during the time for which he was elected, be appointed to any civil office under the authority of the United States, which shall have been created, or the Emoluments whereof have been increased during such time." This means that Hillary Clinton could not legally occupy her office of Secretary of State until the year 2013. (7)

Does our U.S. Congress really care about anything or anyone outside of their own little world of oligarchic control? On November 6th, 2009, Politico reported that there are 237 millionaires in Congress, and many of the rest of them are not exactly poor. (8) Many of them have never worked a real job even one day in their lives. The U.S. Congress is now working like mad to force a new health care system upon the ones they call "ordinary Americans," while they themselves refuse to go under it in favor of their own health plan. They have declared themselves exempt from what they are trying to force you and I to do!

On October 29th, 2009, the Washington Post newspaper reported that the West Front of the Capitol would be fenced off because the general public was not invited to the unveiling of the House version of the new health care plan. (9) The West Front of the Capitol is always open to the public, but according to Nancy Pelosi's instructions, it was an invitation-only event, and guests had to be handpicked. Protesters shouted against the new and wicked program. It was reported that one man with a bullhorn cried out, "Nazi Pelosi, you will burn in hell for this."

This infamous Government-run health care plan had grown to 1,990 pages on October 30th, and it went on to exceed 2,000 pages later. There are more pages in this health care legislation than there are pages in War and Peace, Atlas Shrugged, or the entire Lord of the Rings Trilogy. At a cost of over one trillion dollars for the entire package, the cost per word in this document is 2.2 million dollars! (10)

On November 7th, with the blood ritual sacrifice at Fort Hood completed, the House opened their debate on this new legislation that has the potential to destroy our country. (11) Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi quickly broke her promise to post the entire document on the Internet for seventy-two hours prior to a vote. (12) During the darkness of a Saturday night, less than twenty-four hours from the time that discussion began, Pelosi called for a vote and the measure was passed narrowly at 220 to 215. (13)

How heinous and evil is this legislation? Republican leader John Boehner revealed that a separate abortion premium will be charged to all who come under the new health care system, and it will be billed monthly as such! Boehner said the following: "What is even more alarming is that a monthly abortion premium will be charged of all enrollees in the government-run plan. It's right there on line 16, page 96, section 213, under Insurance Rating Rules. The premium will be paid into an U.S. Treasury account, and these Federal funds will be used to pay for the abortion services." (14) Think of it! An U.S. Treasury account specifically for abortions from a specific allocated premium that you and I would be forced by law to pay! The Scriptural curses are upon this nation!

What will happen to people who object to the new Obama-Pelosi plan? According to ranking member of the House Ways and Means Committee Dave Camp, a Republican from Michigan, the Joint Committee on Taxation, or JCT, confirmed the following: "Failure to comply with the individual mandate to buy health insurance contained in the Pelosi Health Care Bill (H.R. 3962, as amended)….and who choose not to pay the bill's new individual mandate tax (generally 2.5% of income) are subject to numerous civil and criminal penalties, including criminal fines of up to $250,000 dollars and imprisonment of up to five years." (15) Apparently the words "liberty and freedom" are being redefined for Americans.

The Beast In Your Bloodstream!

On Friday, October 23rd, 2009, Barack Obama declared a national health emergency regarding the H1N1 influenza virus. The White House declared that a thousand Americans died from the virus and millions were infected. The push was on for immunizations, and soon the manufacturers of the vaccine would reportedly enjoy an income of seven billion dollars. Meanwhile, people would be held in the bondage of fear and terror. At least that was the plan. (16) One question that arises is why did Obama refuse to have his own daughters immunized as reported by the Fox News White House Blog?

There are so many unanswered questions and prevailing uncertainties regarding the vaccines for H1N1 influenza that are being foisted upon the people of the world. Why would the German Army get a special swine flu vaccine without the additives given to the general public? According to Immunology Today, the restricted medical practitioner only edition, published on October 13th, 2009, the Bundeswehr soldiers were given a special vaccine called Celvapan, which did not contain mercury and is additive-free. Defense Ministry spokesman Thomas Raabe stated the following: "The Bundeswehr needs to be able to quickly and impartially inoculate soldiers and their dependants on foreign missions to ensure they were protected without having them at risk of death or disability from the additives." (17) Why should the general public face such risks?

We also know that in America certain so-called high-risk categories of people are given priority status to receive the H1N1 swine flu shot. One of those categories is pregnant women. As I write this, I am looking at many pages of testimonies of young expectant mothers who miscarried and lost their babies shortly after receiving the swine flu inoculation. My heart breaks for these women and their families. They mistakenly put their trust in people who are working for a system that is under the direction of Satan and his illuministic stooges that occupy the highest offices of our government. They are a dirty bunch!

The October 2009 edition of the American Journal of Pharmacology tells of a shocking program that is currently being developed by a giant drug company, Ely Lilly & Co. It is the plan to include antipsychotic drugs in infant formulas as a kind of "immunization" to help prevent episodes of ADHD in children as they age. The spokesman for Ely Lilly said the following: "There will be ethical issues of course but with ethical control over the drug and with reassurance of its safety, I'm sure objections can be overcome. We predict in five years, 1 in 3 children over 4 will be on antipsychotics as a matter of course….." (18) It is obvious that the children are being targeted in many ways to program them as forthcoming planetary citizens of the New World Order!

These are strange times, so unlike any other era of history. These are the days when Dr. Frankenstein could win the Nobel Prize for creating his monster. In fact, it is interesting to note that the story of Frankenstein took place in the area of Ingolstadt, Germany, which is the place where Dr. Adam Weishaupt first formed the Illuminati, along with Baron von Knigge and three others who met in a cave and used magic ritual to contact the one they called the "Controlling Unknown."

Scientists are continually defying God's order of creation. On October 29th, 2009, the London Daily Mail featured an article with the following headline: "No men OR women needed: Scientists create sperm and eggs from stem cells." (19) The unthinkable is happening, and a curse will come with it. Children without parents! Who will raise them, and who will control them?

Brother Can You Spare a Dime?

Those who are either old enough to remember or have studied history will recall the famous picture of the late President Franklin Delano Roosevelt riding in a convertible with a long stem cigarette holder in his mouth and wearing a coat with a fur collar as he traveled up Fifth Avenue in New York City. The caption under the photo said, "Brother, can you spare a dime?" The simple and tragic fact is that most people couldn't spare a dime. It was the time of the Great Depression, and Roosevelt was the multimillionaire "god man" that promised to save the country. We are now in another great depression, even though the government refuses to use those words. As in the first Great Depression, this one is upon us by careful planning and design by the conspirators that we already identified as a dirty bunch!

On October 19th, 2009, the news headlines for CNN Money revealed that the FDIC, which provides insurance to protect the accounts of depositors for up to $250,000 per account, is now broke. In fact, it is in the red until at least the year 2012! (20) It is a Federal insurance company with no reserves! Where is the account protection? In addition to that, banks continue to fail and dig the hole deeper! On November 6th, the Associated Press reported that more banks in Georgia, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, and California were closed on that Friday, bringing the total number of bank failures for the year to 120. (21) On that very same day, Freddie Mac, the second largest provider of U.S. residential mortgages, posted a five billion dollar loss! (22) Indeed, the economic situation in America is so bad that NBC News Chicago reported on October 30th, 2009, that many nice homes in the suburbs of Chicago are for sale for one dollar but nobody wants them. People cannot afford to pay the taxes and upkeep on them, so they sit empty. (23) When I read this, I was reminded of Isaiah 5:9 which reads as follows: "In mine ears saith the Lord of hosts, Of a truth many houses shall be desolate, even great and fair, without inhabitant."

I have written before about the severity of the American national debt, which is astronomical in the truest sense of the word. This debt is also spiraling upward by design as a part of the necessary sabotage needed to destroy the economies of the nation and the world, which will necessitate the creation of a new one-world economic system. The numbers and dates involved never cease to amaze me. Just in time for the witches' sabat of Samhain, or Halloween, the national debt ceiling was raised to thirteen trillion dollars. (24)

The number of unemployed Americans is staggering, and 80% of unemployment recipients in the country are of prime working age, between 25 and 59. Of the top wage earners to lose their jobs, 57% had been working in manufacturing and 24% were in construction. (25) Meanwhile, in Red China the economy is expanding rapidly, and even their auto sales increased 78% in September. (26) On October 15th, 2009, the FDIC told the Associated Press that U.S. banks are about to suffer another wave of trouble as commercial real estate loans go into default. With seven million jobs lost and buildings sitting empty, real estate developers have not paid the banks, and nationwide there is a staggering sum of $500 billion coming due annually. (27) We also see the price of gold skyrocketing to well over $1,100 per ounce! In addition to that, Barrick of Canada, the gold giant, announced on November 11th, 2009, that the world's gold supply is about to run out. New production has been decreasing by 1 million ounces per year for a number of years, and the quality of the ore is becoming very poor and inferior. (28) This is another sign of the times! I am reminded of James 5:1-3, which reads as follows: "Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten. Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days."

We are not far from the mark of the beast and the new cashless system. On November 9th, 2009, Reuters News Service reported that the new rage all over Europe is "chipping parties," which are held at night clubs and other places of entertainment. Young people in their teens and twenties have been implanted with microchips by the thousands as they attend these parties. They are saying that the insertion of the electronic chip is almost painless and is quickly forgotten. Once it is in, there is no need to carry cash, credit cards, or identification for proof of age. The arm is scanned at the door, and the name and photograph of the person comes up on the screen. Drinks are purchased by the scanning of the arm, as are all other transactions. The club owners in Europe are saying it will soon be mandatory to have a microchip implant or you won't get in! (29)

There Is Something Rotten in Denmark!

This popular saying came from the play Hamlet, written by William Shakespeare, when the character Marcellus said, "There is something rotten in the state of Denmark." It is taken from act I, scene IV. But we have something far more serious taking place in Denmark in December 2009 when the leaders of the world gather for their summit on global warming. The stated purpose of the summit in Copenhagen is to save "Mother Earth" from human exploitation, pollution, and ultimate destruction. It is officially called the United Nations Climate Change Conference of Copenhagen, and it is scheduled for December 7-18, 2009, in Copenhagen. Here let it be noted that all the talk about global warming, environmental impact, and save the planet is just a gimmick to conceal their real purpose. It sounds like such a noble cause to save "Mother Earth" and weld the people behind the effort in a grand unity. Just as the "German Fatherland" gimmick was used by Adolph Hitler to weld his purpose together, so this "Mother Earth" gimmick is to unify the entire world. The treaty actually states the words "A world government is going to be created," and this is written as the first of three purporses. The second stated purpose of the conference is to transfer the wealth from the countries of the West to Third World countries in satisfaction of what is called "climate debt." The leaders of this conspiracy are saying that only the major nations of the West have been polluting all of the Earth, not the Third World countries. Therefore, they say, that we owe them reparations. All of this was revealed and verified as true by a former science advisor to British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, Lord Christopher Monckton. It was clearly and specifically stated by Monckton that the real purpose of this summit was to officially create the One World Government and enforce allegiance to it. (30)

It is all coming together so quickly now, and all the pieces of the puzzle are beginning to fit together. On October 1st, 2009, it was announced in the news media in England that former Prime Minister Tony Blair is favored to become President of all of Europe to lead the European Union. (31) Tony Blair is heavily involved in metaphysical practice and various forms of witchcraft.

In the November 2009 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association, a story was published with the following headline: VeriChip Markets RFID Microchip Implants to ID World International Congress." This world conference was held in Milan, Italy, on November 3-5, 2009, where VeriChip Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Scott R. Silverman made his presentation to this worldwide gathering of experts and leaders. The subject was, of course, electronic identification. (32)

Where are the churches in all of this? Are the leaders of the churches so out-of-touch with God and the Scripture that they don't know or care about Revelation 13:16-17 which reads as follows: "And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name." How serious is this? In Revelation 14:9-11, we read about what happens to those who receive this implanted mark or chip into their bodies as follows: "And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb; and the smoke of their torment ascendeth up forever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name."

The sad fact is that the churches are in on the one-world government scheme and are co-conspirators. The pastors have become modern-day Judas Iscariots, who instead of betraying the Lord for thirty pieces of silver are doing it to buy into the electronic worldwide money vault of the damned! In fact, on November 12th, 2009, the World Council of Churches called on every church in the world to ring their bells simultaneously 350 times during the Copenhagen Climate Change Summit. Every church bell in the world is to be rung on the 13th day of December 2009. The bells must be rung 350 times to symbolize the 350 parts per million that mark the safe upper limit for carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. (33) Thus, the churches of the world are to show their support of the new One World Government that is to be born on that day!

End Time Signs and Warnings!

It is the time of the end and things can happen so quickly. On November 10th, 2009, an electrical blackout hit Brazil, and it left one third of the entire population of that nation in darkness. About seventy million people were without power, and this event happened only weeks after that nation was chosen to host the 2016 Olympics. Power officials say a storm was the cause of the blackout. (34) There is no doubt that the Lord was voicing His disapproval of the pagan Olympic games that honor the "sun-god" and other false deities.

Many hundreds of earthquakes continue to shake the earth, and the entire earth is steadily and consistently crumbling as new fissures are forming in various places. In the heavens there are continual events that should cause us to take notice. On November 6th, 2009, a previously undiscovered asteroid seemed to come from nowhere, and it almost hit our earth. With only a 15-hour warning, this massive asteroid came within 8,700 miles of earth, which is 30 times nearer to the earth than our moon, which is approximately 250,000 miles away. (35) This was a near hit and could have been devastating. NASA is greatly concerned about the earth being hit and has a "Near Earth's Object Program" to try to deal with the problem. They know that it is just a matter of time until the unthinkable happens. Our only hope is our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Everything is in His Almighty hands and He is in control. Keep looking up as you watch and pray.
