CIA accused of 'poisoning the sky' with toxins as files expose secret weather control agenda

By CHRIS MELORE, US ASSISTANT SCIENCE EDITOR

Published: 16:25 EDT, 17 March 2026 | Updated: 06:05 EDT, 18 March 2026

Once top-secret CIA files have detailed America's plans to control the world by manipulating the weather.

The documents, declassified in 2003, discussed the controversial topic of weather modification, the tactic of launching rockets or using planes to dump chemicals into the atmosphere that alter the climate and local storm systems.

Although the resurfaced documents from 1965 did not mention the specific chemicals used in the experiments, they did discuss the need for more funding of the weather modification projects that would soon be used as a weapon of war.

In fact, the memos noted that federal funding for the secret program was set to be four times higher in 1967 - the same year the US began spraying toxins over Vietnam to cause floods and landslides.

One post on X claimed: 'The CIA has been poisoning the sky and controlling the weather since 1965!'

The 18-page report was recently shared by conspiracy theorists, years after it was quietly placed into the CIA's public archives, including a letter praising the classified operation from US President Lyndon B Johnson.

Johnson's endorsement of the CIA's weather modification project came just three years after he gave an ominous speech on the future of America and the work to create 'weather satellites' with the power to strengthen storms.

While giving the commencement address at Southwest Texas State University in May 1962, then-Vice President Johnson said: 'He who controls the weather will control the world.'

Conspiracy theorists have claimed that airliners have been pouring various chemicals into the atmosphere for years for nefarious reasons including population control and mind control

Throughout much of the history of the United States, white Protestant Christians set the tone both culturally and politically. But demographic changes over the last few decades have transformed the country. As recently as 2008, white Christians made up the majority of the American population. Six years later, the number had dropped seven points to 47 percent. A religious scholar tracks these changes in a new book. He says understanding this shift can help explain everything from the rise of Donald Trump to the heated rhetoric of the same sex marriage debate.

Career Diplomat Jeffrey DeLaurentis Is Charge D'Affaires In Havana

JULY 27, 2015 5:11 AM ET

STEVE INSKEEP, HOST:

Some other news, the U.S. now has an embassy in Cuba. The embassy does not yet have an ambassador. And if Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell has his way, there will not be one. McConnell has vowed to block any potential candidate. There is a career diplomat who was chief of mission there, and for maybe sometime to come as a matter of fact. His name is Jeffrey DeLaurentis. And as NPR's Carrie Kahn reports, he is our man in Havana.

CARRIE KAHN, BYLINE: There's a joke that Fidel Castro supposedly told back in the 1970s that is in vogue again on the island these days. When asked when the U.S. and Cuba would resume diplomatic relations, Fidel reportedly said, when the U.S. has a black president, and the world has a Latin American Pope. There are some in diplomatic circles that would add to that list - Jeffrey DeLaurentis the current head of the now reopened U.S. Embassy in Havana.

CARLOS ALZUGARAY: Jeff is definitely the kind of person you send to a country when you want to work with that country.

KAHN: Carlos Alzugaray, a former Cuban diplomat, says when he heard that DeLaurentis was appointed last August to head up the then U.S. intersection in Havana, he thought to himself, something must be up. Alzugaray was unaware at the time that secret negations between the longtime enemies were underway to resume diplomatic ties.

ALZUGARAY: He knows what he's doing. He's well-trained diplomat. He's someone who knows how to present better the U.S. position.

KAHN: And get the Cubans to listen, says Alzugaray. DeLaurentis has had to get the Cubans to listen at many different and difficult times. This is his third posting in Cuba, his first tour of duty was in the early 1990s as the island was plunged into the severe economic crisis following the collapse of the Soviet Union. He returned in 1999 as the head of the economic and political section of the mission, as the countries engaged in long fight over a young boy named Elian.

UNIDENTIFIED PROTESTERS: (Speaking Spanish).

KAHN: Thousands in Havana have regularly occupied the concrete plaza in front of the tall, brown, concrete U.S. mission to protest the international custody battle over Elian Gonzalez. The 6-year-old boy rescued in the Florida Straits from a hand-made boat. Vicki Huddleston, the head of the U.S. Interest Section at the time, credits DeLaurentis' skilled diplomacy with diffusing the situation, which ended with Gonzalez's return home. Huddleston says the Cubans trust him when he tells them the U.S. is going to do something.

VICKI HUDDLESTON: They'll believe it. They will know the United States is doing this because Jeff doesn't make up things. He doesn't exaggerate. He's telling it like it is.

KAHN: And he does it in a very quiet way. DeLaurentis, now 61, gives very few interviews and declined repeated requests by NPR. He did give a talk to a Model U.N. Conference in 2013, encouraging the young students of international diplomacy not to get discouraged.

(SOUNDBITE OF CONFERENCE)

JEFFREY DELAURENTIS: Multilateral diplomacy of the kind you will be tackling here the next few days is difficult. It can be frustrating, even maddening.

KAHN: He said reaching agreements with adversaries is like playing multidimensional chess. And avoiding a checkmate in Cuba may just be Jeffrey DeLaurentis's biggest career challenge yet. Carrie Kahn, NPR News.

Dread And Despair Among Greeks As They Wait To Learn Their Fate

From the capital to the countryside, there is pervasive fear in Greece as European leaders in Brussels debate the country's economic fate.

LYNN NEARY, HOST:

This weekend, the Greek government is in Brussels, negotiating with European Union creditors on its latest plan to reform the country's economy. All eight EU leaders will weigh in on the Greek proposal today. They'll decide whether it's enough to enable Greece to stay in the eurozone and receive a third desperately needed cash bailout. NPR reporters Joanna Kakissis and Eleanor Beardsley are in Greece, where people are nervously watching while their country's fate is decided.

JOANNA KAKISSIS, BYLINE: I'm Joanna Kakissis in Kiato, a small town of merchants, farmers and innkeepers in southern Greece. It's here, at a neighborhood cafe, that I meet Katerina Angelopoulou, a civil servant in the local tax office. In the last five years, Angelopoulou says she's often burst into tears as she watches friends and neighbors come in and beg for guidance because they lost their jobs and don't have enough money to pay their taxes.

KATERINA ANGELOPOULOU: (Through interpreter) When your income goes down and your taxes go up, you can't make it. When two thirds of it will go to taxes, that's a problem because you have other bills to pay.

KAKISSIS: The new Greek plan calls for higher taxes, pension cuts and more harsh austerity measures in exchange for more loans. But now, it looks like European Union leaders don't think the plan is good enough and may just want to pull the plug on Greece altogether. That scares Angelopoulou.

ANGELOPOULOU: (Through interpreter) People feel so insecure now. More than 80 percent of us Greeks - we want to stay in the European Union and keep the euro as our currency. So right now, we just feel depressed - so depressed. I feel depressed.

ELEANOR BEARDSLEY, BYLINE: I'm Eleanor Beardsley in Athens, the country's bustling capital. Taxi driver Sakis Evgeniou says he understands why Europe needs to be tough on Greece because if it gives in to the left-wing ruling party here, that will encourage other far-left movements Podemos in Spain.

SAKIS EVGENIOU: And after Spain is the elections in Portugal. And the Portuguese, they will ask the same. And don't forget that the third biggest economy of Europe, Italy, has similar problem. And the North Europeans, they don't want to give in. They play hard.

BEARDSLEY: Evgeniou says his own life is getting harder with fewer customers and higher taxes.

KAKISSIS: It's the same story back in Kiato, which is 65 miles west of Athens. As people walk on the beach on their day off from work, they say their lives feel so up in the air. Emily Tavoulareas, a Greek-American digital strategist, has spent every summer here since she was a kid. She's planning her big Greek wedding next weekend in a Byzantine village at the tip of southern Greece. She worries that with bank closures and credit problems, suppliers transporting food inside the country will struggle to pay for gas and cut down on deliveries. She spoke to the owners of a local tavern about a contingency plan.

EMILY TAVOULAREAS: And when I was asking them, you know, how does your food get here, where are your ingredients from, they pointed to the garden behind the restaurant, and they were like, everything's from here - everything from the goats to the cheese to the tomatoes. So, you know, it was in that moment I was like, oh, well, if things really fall apart, then we can just bring everything from here.

KAKISSIS: But Tavoulareas says she's much more worried about how this crisis will affect her family and friends here. She watches some neighbors, a group of retired men, sitting on plastic chairs near the beach.

UNIDENTIFIED MEN: (Speaking Greek).

KAKISSIS: The men spend every afternoon here arguing about how this crisis happened, who's to blame.

UNIDENTIFIED MAN: (Singing in Greek).

KAKISSIS: Sometimes one of them breaks the tension by singing bluesy old folk songs like this one, which tells a story of freedom and slavery.

VASSILIS KOUBOULAS: (Speaking Greek).

KAKISSIS: "We always talk about what went wrong," says retired bus driver Vassilis Kouboulas, shaking his head. "We should be asking ourselves what's going to happen tomorrow. Will we face tomorrow alone," he says, "or together with Europe?" For NPR News, I'm Joanna Kakissis in Kiato, Greece.

BEARDSLEY: And this is Eleanor Beardsley, NPR News, Athens.

Nothing But The Truth: The Greatest Deception Since The Garden Of Eden

Published on Feb 12, 2015

Another part of this series, 'a conversation with joggler66' from Talkshoe internet broadcast platform with Michael Adams and Jörg Glismann (joggler66) featuring Tom Friess from http://wwfar.com/inquisitionupdate/ and https://inquisitionupdate.wordpress.com/

Why the title 'the greatest deception since the Garden of Eden?'

Because there, for the first time in man's history, Satan deceived the WHOLE WORLD and ever since the proclamation of the futurist ANTICHRIST LIE again Satan twists the WORD of GOD and deceives the WHOLE WORLD for the second time.

Fool me once, shame on me, fool me twice shame on YOU (SATAN)!
What does this embody?

The founding of ISRAEL after WW2 by deceiving the people through faked persecution and real inquisition to have a reason to have a nation state of Israel and jews living in that area as there was in Daniel's prophecy:

Daniel 9:25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

The building of the Temple that is being planned in Jerusalem now, the allowance given to the jews to worship under the trees between the buildings of the Temple are the next steps.

This deception will convince the world we are NOW living in the 70 week prophecy.

This is the denial of Christ Jesus's FIRST coming so that the ANTICHRIST who claims to BE CHRIST will be accepted by the whole world as Messiah!

John 5:43 I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.

The fulfillment of the 1590 founded jesuitical futurist deception of the ANTICHRIST being a single individual in the (then) distant future taking the heat of the refomers interpretation of the papacy being the biblical, historical and prophetic ANTICHTIST!

Dispensational futurism versus historicism!

The truth that is written all along in the bible will prevail and will be understood by minds reading the word of GOD who are intellectually honest!

Nothing But The Truth – Satan’s Paradise

Published on Feb 18, 2015

The entire title should read as follows:
Nothing But The Truth – Satan’s Paradise: The Consequences Of The Greatest Deception Since The Garden Of Eden

In this broadcast we will go into the consequences we ALL have to face when not understanding the greatest deception since the garden of Eden as explained in part 1 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxtSm... ) of this vital to understand subject. Please read the description from that video for further understanding.

The world has been run by the roman catholic church since 538 AD now, assisted by their Knighthoods (The Knights Of the Temple of Jerusalem during the crusades and the society of Jesus to name the most important).

Since the whole world today is living in a system created by the society of Jesus (the Jesuits) to fit their agenda (…that the end justifies the means…) all of education, formation, information, economics and politics is controlled by this still growing Luciferian secret society that is not at all so secret anymore.

Their actions lay the foundation of how we perceive the world and they handle us from cradle to grave in such a manner that people don’t even recognize it.

Only when you are prepared to question the ‘facts’ presented to you and question them you will have a chance to see the system many refer to as a kind of ‘Matrix’ that makes you go along because it’s comfortable – even though you face many problems and don’t understand why they are not being taken care of.

The answer has been given to us by the WORD of GOD that the roman catholic church so desperately wants to get rid of once and for all.

If GOD is silenced in our hearts and minds all we can hear is Satan and we’ll be dancing to his music until we die and he stole our god given right of eternal life by our ignorance to the love that GOD offers freely to everyone who listens and obeys him.

The choice everybody has to make for himself, that’s why we were given free will.
But we also have to live with the consequences of our decision…

Far From 'Infinitesimal': A Mathematical Paradox's Role In History

How a Dangerous Mathematical Theory Shaped the Modern World

by Amir Alexander

Hardcover, 352 pages

More on this book:

Here's a stumper: How many parts can you divide a line into?

It seems like a simple question. You can cut it in half. Then you can cut those lines in half, then cut those lines in half again. Just how many parts can you make? A hundred? A billion? Why not more?

You can keep on dividing forever, so every line has an infinite amount of parts. But how long are those parts? If they're anything greater than zero, then the line would seem to be infinitely long. And if they're zero, well, then no matter how many parts there are, the length of the line would still be zero.

That's the paradox lurking behind calculus. The fight over how to resolve it had a surprisingly large role in the wars and disputes that produced modern Europe, according to a new book called Infinitesimal: How a Dangerous Mathematical Theory Shaped the Modern World, by UCLA historian Amir Alexander.

The Jesuits: Warriors Of Geometry

Today, mathematicians have found ways to answer that question so that modern calculus is rigorous and reliable. But in the 17th century, those questions didn't yet have satisfying answers — and worse, the results of early calculus were sometimes wrong, Alexander tells NPR's Arun Rath. That was a sharp contrast with the dependable outcomes of geometry.

"Geometry is orderly. It is absolutely certain. And once you get results in geometry, nobody can argue with you," Alexander says. "Everything is absolutely provable. No sane person can ever dispute something like the Pythagorean theorem."

That orderliness had captured the attention of the Jesuits, who had been trying to cope with the crisis of the Reformation.

"If we could have theology like that," Alexander explains, "then we could get rid of all those pesky Protestants who keep arguing with us, because we could prove things."

But the debate over infinitesimals threw a wrench into that thinking.

The whole point of mathematics was to be certain, Alexander says. "Everything is known, and everything has its place, and there's a very orderly hierarchy of results there. And now, in the middle of that, you throw this paradox, and you can get all those strange results. That basically means that mathematics can't be trusted, and if mathematics can't be trusted, what else can?"

The 17th-century rivalry between English philosopher Thomas Hobbes, left, and English mathematician John Wallis lasted decades. Hulton Archive/Getty Images

So the Jesuits waged a war of letters, threats and intimidation against the supporters of the infinitesimal, a group that included some of Italy's greatest thinkers — Galileo, Gerolamo Cardano, Federico Commandino and others. In Italy, the Jesuits' victory was complete.

"Italy was — before the 17th century and into the 17th century — it was really the mathematical capital of Europe. It had the greatest mathematicians, the greatest mathematical tradition," Alexander says. "And by the time the Jesuits were done, that was gone. All of it. By the 1670s, Italy was a complete backwater in mathematics and the sciences."

An Infinitesimal Victory For The People

Meanwhile a similar situation was playing out in England, where civil war was also threatening upheaval. The aristocracy and propertied classes were desperate to hold onto their traditional power while lower class dissent fermented underneath. Thomas Hobbes, remembered today for his works of political philosophy like Leviathan, was also acknowledged at the time as a mathematician.

"He thought the only way to re-establish order was much like the Jesuits: Just wipe off any possibility of dissent. Establish a state that is absolutely logical, where the laws of the sovereign have the force of a geometrical proof," Alexander says.

Part of Hobbes' strategy included a campaign against the infinitesimal, championed in England by Hobbes' greatest rival, a mathematician named John Wallis. Today, he's remembered best for introducing the familiar ∞ symbol, and he helped found the Royal Society of London. Over three decades of correspondence between the two, Wallis argued vehemently for the infinitesimal — and for democracy.

Related NPR Stories

Wallis argued, "What you have to build now is some space where dissent can be allowed, within limits at least," Alexander says. "Build a society and build a social order from the ground up rather than imposing it by one single law."

Wallis' ideas eventually prevailed; Hobbes' opinions proved too unpopular, and fearing retribution from the rebels after they executed King Charles I, he pledged his allegiance to their new government in the 1650s.

A World Without Calculus: Would It Add Up?

What might have happened if the Jesuits and Hobbes had won out? What if the infinitesimal had been successfully stamped out everywhere?

"I think things would have been very different," Alexander muses. "I think if they had won, then it would have been a much more hierarchical society. In a world like that, there would not be room for democracy, there would not be room for dissent."

And more materially, he says, we might not have all the modern fruits of this kind of math. "Modern science, modern technology, and everything from your cell phone to this radio station to airplanes and cars and trains — it is all fundamentally dependent on this technique of infinitesimals."

Preparing for Disaster - BBC - The Documentary

 Image for Preparing for Disaster

The Documentary - Preparing for Disaster

Lu Olkowski reports from New York about the growing 'prepper' movement in the city. Preppers are people who are fearful of the future and who are preparing for the next disaster. The city has already experienced natural calamities such as Hurricane Sandy and has suffered devastating terrorist attacks. Preppers, who operate as individuals or in small organised groups, are convinced another disaster will strike the city soon and refuse to believe that the government will do enough to protect them. They train in self-defence and plan ways to escape the city in the event of emergency. They store food and water in their houses and have 'bug out' bags ready at a moments notice if they have to flee. Lu Olkowski talks to a number of New York preppers and listens to their concerns and plans for the future. She finds out what they are particularly worried about – everything from a nuclear explosion to economic collapse and another major storm. She hears about their plans of escape and the variety of objects they have secured for their survival – everything from decades' worth of dried food to hoards of silver coins for possible barter after the natural order breaks down. She watches on as they prepare their defence. Are these people simply paranoid and easily influenced by the wild imaginings of Hollywood disaster films? Or do they have genuine concerns that all of us who live in cities should take heed of? Ukraine's Challenge To American Foreign Policy

. . . .

April 9, 2014 at 10:00 AM

Ukraine’s hot, the Mideast is a mess. Is this White House shrewdly realigning American foreign policy or frittering away its powers?

*With Guest Host Jessica Yellin.

Pro-Russian activists shout during a rally at the regional administration building in Donetsk, Ukraine, Tuesday, April 8, 2014, as the makings of an improved self-appointed government began to take shape, with demonstrators dug in for their third day at the 11-story regional administration headquarters. (AP)

Tensions in Ukraine reach a new boiling point as pro-Russian activists storm government buildings. On the ground: charges and denials of hostage taking. Ukraine’s leaders brawling in Parliament as Russia masses 40,000 troops near the border. It’s not playing well in Washington, where Senators blasted Secretary of State John Kerry – accusing him of failing at foreign policy. This is the new test case for the Obama administration and its make-nice foreign policy. This hour On Point: crisis in Ukraine, and America’s leadership on the world stage.
Guests

From The Reading List

The Economist: Last-ditch bargaining — “Mr. Kerry, in any event, must be running out of ploys to keep the negotiations alive. Since last July he has reduced his sights first to a statement of principles, then to a ‘framework’ for talks, and most recently to a non-binding American paper. Even that now seems too much for Israeli and Palestinian leaders to stomach.”

The Guardian: Iran’s choice for UN ambassador threatens to derail nuclear talks — “Senior US lawmakers who accuse Aboutalebi of involvement in the siege are rallying around legislation to prevent him access to the UN headquarters. On Tuesday, in the wake of the Senate’s endorsement of a bill that effectively targeted Aboutalebi, and as a new round of nuclear negotiations was getting underway in Vienna, Iran stood by its nomination.”

Vox: A Russian invasion of eastern Ukraine just got more likely. Here’s why. — “Ever since Russian troops annexed the Ukrainian region of Crimea in mid-March, people have been worried that Russia could try to push into eastern Ukraine as well. Like Crimea, parts of eastern Ukraine are majority Russian-speaking and having historical ties to Russia, so it stood to reason they could be next. That didn’t immediately happen, but since Sunday it has very rapidly started to look more likely. Here’s why.”

Detail from the recently discovered book of psalms, which is more than 1,000 years old.National Museum of Ireland

Some people call it the Irish equivalent of the Dead Sea Scrolls: the discovery last week of fragments of an ancient book of psalms that had been buried in a bog for centuries.

Robert Siegel talks with Pat Wallace, director of the National Museum of Ireland, about the recent discovery in the midlands of Ireland. The text, which survived in a peat bog, is thought to have been written more than 1,000 years ago.
