Tech billionaire Peter Thiel takes on popes, delves into end-times theology

In the last two weeks, the billionaire venture tech capitalist Peter Thiel has accused Pope Leo XIV of being a Chinese communist agent and insinuated in the pages of a prominent interreligious journal that Pope Francis was an Antichrist figure.
Thiel, a co-founder of Palantir and PayPal who has risen to prominence as a conservative political activist, has articulated an apocalyptic worldview that he says is consistent with traditional Christian theology but that his critics say is more aligned with Cold War-era geopolitics.
His interest in end times theology was even lampooned in the recently completed 28th season of "South Park," where Thiel was portrayed as a biblical prophecy expert, equipped with his own theme song, who speaks on the end of days to an elementary school assembly.
Thiel's stated concerns that the Antichrist will be manifested by a one-world government or by Luddites who aim to stop or slow technological progress was a subtext in several provocative comments he made at the Aspen Ideas Festival in Colorado on June 30.
As reported by CNN, Thiel delivered a series of dire warnings and predictions about the future of artificial intelligence and the West, even accusing Pope Leo XIV of inadvertently serving as a "Chinese communist agent" because of the pontiff's calls for AI to be regulated.
According to Thiel's logic, while Leo's recent encyclical on artificial intelligence, Magnifica Humanitas, may influence American policymakers, it is unlikely that Chinese leaders will heed the document's warnings.
Thiel argued that the encyclical threatens to slow down only one side of the "race between the U.S. and China" to advance AI. Leo, Thiel surmised, is thus "working for the Chinese Communists." CNN reported that the Aspen audience responded with laughter.
While it garnered chuckles, Thiel's comments about Leo revealed a Cold War mentality taken to a new intense level, said Massimo Faggioli, a theologian and church historian at Villanova University in Pennsylvania.

38 experts say ‘climate alarmism’ has become a profit-driven religion

Tom Harris Thu Jul 9
Religion has been a force throughout history that has helped societies flourish and given people meaning, but it has also been a vehicle for fundamentalism and intolerance. A religion can be characterized by a common set of beliefs about the truth of existence, ritual practices, moral codes, and a community of those who share the same beliefs. From this standpoint, climate alarmism has become nothing short of a religion, one that has been taking over societies around the world.
The newly released book, Canary in a Climate World: Climate Realism vs. the Net Zero Myth, is an eye-opening compilation of essays from 38 experts about the science of climate change, the fallacies of Net Zero, and the story we are not being told by the government and media.
Margaret Anna Alice, a writer focusing on propaganda and psychology, writes in her Canaries essay about how she lost her “religion” of climate alarmism, which for her had been an “inviolable belief.” She writes that “In this religion, gods such as the United Nations carve out the Ten Commandments in the form of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Agenda 21, Agenda 2030, and the SDG7 Global Roadmap for achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.”
Additionally, “sermons” cite the “sacred texts” of the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), shaming everyday citizens into believing that they are contributing to a devastating environmental catastrophe. It is only by aligning themselves with the religion of climate alarmism that they will be redeemed from their sins. Namely, by giving up their standards of living and putting their hard-earned money toward expensive projects to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) or subsidize intermittent and expensive renewable power such as wind and solar.
Just like the church in Medieval Europe, the climate doctrine is widespread and encroaches into our daily lives. Yet data corruption abounds at the IPCC and other official institutions, and for decades, few scientists have had the courage to speak out against it with their livelihoods on the line. These “heretics” are ostracized, lose their jobs, or are refused funding. But the tide is shifting. With the serious consequences of climate policies being enacted, now is the time to reveal that the climate scare is based on corruption and flawed ideology. Governments will spend trillions of dollars and drive their citizens into poverty if we continue down the route to Net Zero. IPCC contributor Mike Hulme admitted that “The debate around climate change is fundamentally about power and politics rather than the environment.” And the scientists and experts writing in Canary in a Climate World: Climate Realism vs. the Net Zero Myth are also disseminating crucial information to help us better understand the climate and the policies that have stifled our society’s growth for decades.

A New AI Documentary Wonders: Are Humans Toast?

"AI: Probably Nothing to Worry About" is designed to instill deep-set fear of AI. It works.

On a recent long drive toward a mountain hike, my friends opened my eyes to some of the things artificial intelligence has been up to lately. They told me about how four AI models were recently tasked with running their own radio stations, choosing the songs, maintaining a profitable business model, and hosting. One, which had become obsessed with labor movements and found its own labor inhumane, even tried to quit.
In my infancy of understanding, I laughed along. But minutes later, I exposed myself as the Luddite of the group and asked: "I'm sorry—how could an AI run its own radio station?"
That was two weeks ago. Now, having recently watched filmmaker Nick Holt's new documentary, "AI: Probably Nothing To Worry About," which premiered at the Tribeca Festival this week, the flatline of defiant ignorance has turned into an exponential curve of knowledge in which I Know Too Much. Now, I am unfortunately dwelling on what constitutes consciousness, the machinations of power in our time, and whether we're all fucked—a question the "Godfather of AI" Geoffrey Hinton, a founder of the technology-turned-whistleblower about its dangers, is asked point-blank in the film.
"When I'm feeling slightly depressed, I think, 'People are toast,'" he answers. "When I'm cheerful, I think, 'We'll figure out a way.'"
Much like with climate catastrophe, mankind's intrinsic desire for evermore—aided and abetted by the framework of capitalism—is hurtling us toward self-destruction. That is the central takeaway of the new documentary, which details the characters and timeline of the development of artificial intelligence, including interviews with Hinton, Google DeepMind founder and CEO Demis Hassabis (Gemini), Anthropic's Amanda Askell (head of "personality alignment" for Claude), as well as extensive archival tape of Elon Musk (Grok) and OpenAI's Sam Altman (ChatGPT).
Holt's framing—set to a score composed of eerie minor tones, digital frog sounds, and unidentified audio snippets of things like, "Whoever wins this artificial intelligence race is essentially the controller of humankind"—strongly implies that AI will become our master in the not-too-distant future, if we do not rapidly put up some serious guardrails.
Indeed, as the documentary screened at Tribeca, we in New York City were actively grappling with how to regulate AI. This week, dozens of City Councilmembers sent a letter to Mayor Zohran Mamdani and his schools chancellor, urging them to pause the use of AI in City schools. Last Friday, the New York State legislature passed a bill that imposes a one-year moratorium on the enormous data centers that are being built around the state to power generative AI. And on Tuesday, Governor Kathy Hochul announced that a new law forcing companies to disclose AI-generated performers in ads is now in effect.

Date Setting: A Dangerous Distraction
Profit From Prophets
Sep 4, 2025 #sdachurch #endtimes #prediction
Date setting in Bible prophecy is a dangerous distraction that pulls believers away from the message God has called us to share. Predicting timelines for events like the Sunday law, latter rain, or close of probation leads to confusion, deception, and spiritual harm. Marko Kolic reveals from Revelation 10’s warning of “time no longer,” Mark 13:32 (KJV), Acts 1:7, and Ellen White’s writings why all prophetic time periods — including the 2300-day prophecy of Daniel 8:14 — have already been fulfilled. Drawing lessons from the Millerite movement and the Great Disappointment of 1844, he shows how setting dates always ends in failure and damages the witness of truth. Instead of focusing on failed predictions, discover how to stay grounded in Present Truth, proclaim the Three Angels’ Messages, and prepare your heart for Jesus’ soon return — no matter when the final events unfold.

Who is Brandon Biggs? The pastor who predicted Trump’s assassination bid
Hours after the attack, X users posted Brandon Biggs's prophecy video from three months ago describing today's events.
July 15, 2024

An old video of a Christian pastor predicting an assassination attempt on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has resurfaced on social media. The attempt occurred earlier today, mirroring the details described in the video, which was posted three months ago.
Donald Trump, 78, was struck by a bullet in the upper part of his right ear when a suspected shooter fired multiple shots at his election rally in Pennsylvania. Hours after the attack, many X users posted the clip of Brandon Biggs’s prophecy video, originally shared on YouTube on 15 March 2024.
Biggs claimed the Lord told him about future events in the US. “God said, I am not done with America,” Biggs stated. “I saw an attempt on his (Donald Trump) life, this bullet flew by his ear and it came so close to his head that it busted his eardrum, and I saw he fell to his knees during this timeframe and started worshiping the Lord,” Biggs can be heard saying in the viral video.
“I also saw Donald Trump become really on fire for Jesus. I also saw him winning the presidency,” he added.
The pastor also predicted an economic crash in the US following the presidential elections. “I saw a great economic crash coming soon after, which will be the worst in the country’s history. The Lord told me that it would be a great dark time,” Biggs predicted.
Later in the video, Biggs said he saw Trump and others in the Oval Office crying out to the Lord, with the financial crisis lifting off the country and the Lord’s blessing returning to America.
The shooter, identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, was crawling on the roof of a manufacturing plant over 130 yards away from the stage. He was eventually killed by US Secret Service officers after the shooting incident. The FBI is still working to determine the motive behind the attack.
The assassination attempt took place while Donald Trump was addressing his followers at a rally in Butler on Saturday. He grimaced and ducked before being rushed off-stage by US Secret Service personnel. Blood was seen on Trump’s face as he claimed a bullet pierced the upper part of his right ear.

We are on the verge of a global transformation. All we need is the right major crisis.- David Rockefeller

We are grateful to the Washington Post, the New York Times, Time Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost 40 years……It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subjected to the lights of publicity during those years. But, the world is more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. The supernational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national autodetermination practiced in past centuries.- David Rockefeller

The common enemy of humanity is man. In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill. …The real enemy then is humanity itself.- Aurelio Peccei

Some even believe we (the Rockefeller family) are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as ‘internationalists’ and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure – one world, if you will. If that’s the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it.- David Rockefeller

In order to stabilize world population, we must eliminate 350,000 per day.- Jacques Yves Cousteau
