Thousands of protesters are expected to take to the streets of Washington, D.C., on October 17, 2026, for the nationwide ‘No Kings’ demonstrations, as organizers call for people to stand up for democracy, civil rights, and government accountability. The demonstrations are part of a national day of action encouraging civic participation and early voting ahead of the U.S. midterm elections.
In the nation’s capital, demonstrators are expected to gather at designated protest locations, including Black Lives Matter Plaza, before marching toward the Capitol. The ‘No Kings’ movement opposes what organizers describe as authoritarianism and the concentration of presidential power under Donald Trump. The demonstrations provide a platform for Americans to voice their concerns about the administration’s policies and the future of American democracy.
