Chipotle's Ouija Board Ad: The Occult Origins of 'Summoning the Spirits

Chipotle's Ouija Board Ad: The Occult Origins of 'Summoning the Spirits

Little Light Studios

This October, Chipotle is summoning the spirits. To bring back its margarita, the chain rolled out a crystal ball, a Ouija board with a tortilla chip for a planchette, and a teaser called "Who Said Chipotle Margarita Three Times." It looks like just another Halloween ad, but every piece of it has a history, and some of it is older than you'd think.

In this video you'll discover:

🔮 Where "say it three times" comes from, from Beetlejuice back to Bloody Mary
💎 The ancient practice of scrying, and why crystal balls were buried with Saxon and Viking women
👼 How Queen Elizabeth's advisor John Dee tried to talk to angels through a crystal, and how it ended
🕯️ The Fox sisters, Civil War seances, and Mary Todd Lincoln holding seances in the White House
🪧 How the Ouija board got its name, its patent, and its reputation, and what's really moving the planchette
🍸 Why liquor is called "spirits," and how medieval alchemists named it "the water of life"
📖 What the Bible says about divination, prophecy, strong drink, and being in the world but not of it

JD Vance has claimed that the antichrist may be “walking among us”, and said the world may be living through the “end times”.

The US vice-president made the comments during a podcast interview with Bryce Crawford, 22, an evangelical Christian with more than a million YouTube followers.

While promoting his new book Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith, Mr Vance said he was “trying to focus on doing as much of God’s work as possible”.

He said: “Do I think that we’re in the end times? I don’t know. I think that it’s probably bad for me spiritually to focus too much on it. There are things about the world that make me feel not shocked if the antichrist was walking among us.

“I tend to think that while I wouldn’t be shocked if we are living in the end times, what I’m trying to focus on is doing as much of God’s work as possible right now, and that if that leads to the end times, OK.”

The vice-president was speaking to evangelical Christian and YouTube star Bryce Crawford, 22 Credit: YouTube

Literal readings of the “end times” hold that an antichrist will rise to power, turn against God and persecute believers before Jesus returns.

Asked another question on the “end times”, Mr Vance described a friend whose wife had turned to an AI chatbot for counselling, only to realise it agreed with everything she wrote.

Girl Scouts highly unimpressed after New Jersey troop teams up with local cannabis dispensary to sell cookies

Girl Scouts highly unimpressed after New Jersey troop teams up with local cannabis dispensary to sell cookies

Girl Scout cookie season runs from January through April

Thursday 05 March 2026 13:10 EST

Senior leaders at the Girl Scouts are reportedly displeased that a New Jersey troop teamed up with a local weed dispensary to sell their beloved cookies.

Set up near Daylite Dispensary in Mount Laurel last month, the troop’s booth offered the full line-up of treats. Dispensary owner Steve Cassidy said the partnership was a massive success and drew people both to the booth and the cannabis shop.

However, Cassidy said he had spoken to representatives from the organization about the incident, which had been intended as a positive venture, but may have landed the troop in hot water.

“It was about community,” Cassidy told The Independent. “If that means the local Girl Scout troop got in trouble, that is absolutely not what we wanted.” He declined to comment further.

The Independent has contacted the Girl Scouts of Central and Southern New Jersey, the Girl Scout council that oversees troops in the region, for comment. It is unclear which exact troop staged the event.

U.S. Border Protection Agcy. Advertises SAFE ZONES for Illegal Aliens

U.S. Border Protection Agcy. Advertises SAFE ZONES for Illegal Aliens

Craig Bannister | 24 hours ago

Just about any illegal alien can avoid arrest by following these simple rules, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) advertises in a post on its website’s homepage.

Providing a virtual "how-to" guide for illegal aliens in its “Sensitive Locations FAQs,” CBP explains that immigration laws are not to be enforced at any of a wide range of designated “sensitive locations” – so that illegal aliens may be “free” to live their lives “without fear or hesitation”:

“The policies provide that enforcement actions at or focused on sensitive locations such as schools, places of worship, and hospitals should generally be avoided, and that such actions may only take place when (a) prior approval is obtained from an appropriate supervisory official, or (b) there are exigent circumstances necessitating immediate action without supervisor approval. The policies are meant to ensure that ICE and CBP officers and agents exercise sound judgment when enforcing federal law at or focused on sensitive locations, to enhance the public understanding and trust, and to ensure that people seeking to participate in activities or utilize services provided at any sensitive location are free to do so, without fear or hesitation.”

“This policy is designed to ensure that these enforcement actions do not occur at nor are focused on sensitive locations such as schools and churches” without meeting special exceptions, the ICE Sensitive Locations Policy states.

Locations covered by these policies include, but are not limited to:

Schools, such as known and licensed daycares, pre-schools and other early learning programs; primary schools; secondary schools; post-secondary schools up to and including colleges and universities; as well as scholastic or education-related activities or events, and school bus stops that are marked and/or known to the officer, during periods when school children are present at the stop;

Medical treatment and health care facilities, such as hospitals, doctors’ offices, accredited health clinics, and emergent or urgent care facilities;

Places of worship, such as churches, synagogues, mosques, and temples;

Religious or civil ceremonies or observances, such as funerals and weddings; and

During public demonstration, such as a march, rally, or parade.

So, almost any illegal alien can escape arrest by either walking with a second person (a march), attending some type of class, or finding a nearby church, medical facility or school bus stop.

“The enforcement actions covered by this policy are (1) arrests; (2) interviews; (3) searches; and (4) for the purposes of immigration enforcement only, surveillance,” the ICE policy says.

Each “FAQ” answer is accompanied by a translation for Spanish-speaking illegal aliens – but, not in any other foreign language.

The CBP website also provides a toll-free number and email address to enable illegal aliens to report immigration enforcement efforts taking place at any of the “sensitive locations.”

Got Insurance Ads Using Sex & Alcohol To Sell Obamacare

Here's a small sample from a Huffington Post story. (link below)
The people that brought you the Obamacare keg-stand "brosurance" campaign are back with a new set of eyebrow-raising ads.

The ads, which all live on the DoYouGotInsurance.com website, are a collaboration between Colorado Consumer Health Initiative and ProgressNow Colorado Education, and reference the famous "Got Milk?" ads.

In one ad -- called "Let's Get Physical" -- characters named "Susie" and "Nate" are described as "hot to trot." Susie gives a thumbs up while holding a back of birth control pills.

"OMG, he's hot!" the ad reads. "Let's hope he's as easy to get as this birth control. My health insurance covers the pill, which means all I have to worry about is getting him between the covers. I got insurance."

Anti-jihad 'savage' ads going up in NYC subway

Updated September 20, 2012, 6:01 p.m. ET

Associated Press

NEW YORK — Ads that call some radical Muslims "savage" are going to be posted in the New York City subway system next week. Conservative blogger Pamela Geller won a court order that allowed her to put the ads up Monday in 10 subway stations. New York transit officials had initially refused to run the ad, calling it "demeaning."

The ad reads: "In any war between the civilized man and the savage, support the civilized man. Support Israel. Defeat Jihad."

Geller — who once campaigned against a planned Islamic center near ground zero — says she isn't concerned that the ads will spark violent protests that have rocked the Middle East over an anti-Islamic film.

New York Muslim leaders called the ad hate speech. The ad has also appeared on San Francisco buses.

Be Not Afraid

Romney ad hits Obama for 'war on religion'

August 9th, 2012

CNN's Kevin Liptak

(CNN) - After weeks of attacking President Barack Obama's economic record, Mitt Romney took a sharply different tack Thursday in his latest television ad, going after the president for policies the Republican challenger amounts to a "war on religion."

In the spot, which also features footage from Romney's trip in July to Poland, an announcer says Obama's heath care law forces religious institutions to "go against their faith."

"Who shares your values?" the announcer asks. "President Obama used his healthcare plan to declare war on religion, forcing religious institutions to go against their faith. Mitt Romney believes that's wrong."

In a press release that accompanied the ad, the campaign justifies the "war on religion" claim using an editorial published in the San Antonio Express News in February, as a political firestorm waged over a controversial federal rule requiring employers cover contraception in their health insurance plans.

The rule in question mandated all employers, including religiously affiliated organizations like hospitals and colleges, provide free contraception to employees through health insurance plans. Churches were exempted from the law.

After uproar from conservatives and religious groups, Obama announced an accommodation to the rule on February 10. Under the new plan, religiously affiliated universities and hospitals will not be forced to offer contraception coverage to their employees. Insurers will be required, however, to offer complete coverage free of charge to any women who work at such institutions.

A poll taken in March by the Public Religion Research Institute showed a majority of Americans - 54% - said religiously affiliated colleges and universities should be required to provide employees with health care plans that cover contraception.

Romney's thirty-second ad, titled "Be Not Afraid," does not directly reference the contraception rule, or the subsequent accommodation from the Obama adminstration.

After the "war on religion" segment, the ad uses a clip of Romney speaking in Poland.

"In 1979, a son of Poland, Pope John Paul II, spoke words that would bring down an empire: 'Be not afraid,'" Romney is showed saying.

"When religious freedom is threatened, who do you want to stand with?" the announcer asks.

Romney's speech in Warsaw marked his last public remarks on a week long, three-country foreign swing in July that was meant to bolster his foreign policy credentials. The trip also brought the candidate to London and Israel - two stops marred by stumbles, including a suggestion that the organizers of the London Olympics were ill prepared to host the 2012 Games. In Israel, his remarks in support of the Jewish state provoked an angry response from Palestinian leaders. But his stop in Poland was largely free of any major gaffe from the candidate.

In Thursday's ad, Romney is shown meeting with Lech Walesa, the shipyard worker who went on to inspire the Solidarity trade union and the eventual fall of the Iron Curtain. When Romney was in Poland, Walesa effectively endorsed him for president.

Romney's ad Thursday could be seen as a direct appeal to Catholic voters, who according to national exit polls went for Obama over Sen. John McCain in 2008 54%-45%. Organizations of Catholic bishops have led the charge against the contraception provision in Obama's heath care law.

Obama, who was campaigning in Colorado Wednesday, also subtly harkened back to February's debate over contraception. He was introduced by Georgetown University Law Center graduate Sandra Fluke, who was at the center of the controversy earlier this year after testifying to Congress about the importance of providing birth control to employees of religiously affiliated institutions.

Responding to the Romney ad, an Obama spokeswoman defended the president's contraception stance.

“President Obama believes that, in 2012, women should have access to free contraception as part of their health insurance, and he has done so in a way that respects religious liberty," Lis Smith wrote. "Churches are completely exempt and religiously affiliated organizations that object to providing the service will never have to pay for contraception. Mitt Romney apparently disagrees with this approach and it’s no surprise why. He has pledged to ‘get rid of’ of federal funding for Planned Parenthood and would take women’s health back to the 1950’s. Women can’t afford his extreme policies."
