Who owns and controls the Federal Reserve

Dr. Edward Flaherty

Is the Federal Reserve System secretly owned and covertly controlled by powerful foreign banking interests? If so, how? These claims, made chiefly by authors Eustace Mullins (1983) and Gary Kah (1991) and repeated by many others, are quite serious because the Fed is the United States central bank and controls U.S. monetary policy. By changing the supply of money in circulation, the Fed influences interest rates, affecting the mortgage payments of millions of families, causing the financial markets to boom or collapse, and prompting the economy to expand or to stumble into recession. Such awesome power presumably would be used to benefit the U.S. economy. Mullins and Kah both argued that the Federal Reserve Bank of New York is owned by foreigners. Although the New York Fed is just one of twelve Federal Reserve banks, controlling it, they claimed, is tantamount to control of the entire System. Foreigners use their command of the New York Fed to manipulate U.S. monetary policy for their own and, as Kah asserted, to further their global political goals, namely the establishment of the sinister New World Order.

This essay examines the accuracy of these claims. Specifically, it investigates the charge that the New York Federal Reserve Bank is owned, directly or indirectly, by foreign elements, whether the New York Fed in effect runs the whole Federal Reserve System, and whether its enormous annual profits accrue primarily to foreigners or to the U.S government. This essay shows that there is little evidence to support the idea of foreign ownership and much that contradicts it. In addition, it presents evidence to show that the New York Fed does not command the entire System, as well as recent data demonstrating that the System's profits are paid to the federal government.

Who Owns the Federal Reserve Bank of New York?

Each of the twelve Federal Reserve Banks is organized into a corporation whose shares are sold to the commercial banks and thrifts operating within the Bank's district. Shareholders elect six of the nine the board of directors for their regional Federal Reserve Bank as well as its president. Mullins reported that the top eight stockholders of the New York Fed were, in order from largest to smallest as of 1983, Citibank, Chase Manhatten, Morgan Guaranty Trust, Chemical Bank, Manufacturers Hanover Trust, Bankers Trust Company, National Bank of North America, and the Bank of New York (Mullins, p. 179). Together, these banks owned about 63 percent of the New York Fed's outstanding stock. Mullins then showed that many of these banks are owned by about a dozen European banking organizations, mostly British, and most notably the Rothschild banking dynasty. Through their American agents they are able to select the board of directors for the New York Fed and to direct U.S. monetary policy. Mullins explained,

'... The most powerful men in the United States were themselves answerable to another power, a foreign power, and a power which had been steadfastly seeking to extend its control over the young republic since its very inception. The power was the financial power of England, centered in the London Branch of the House of Rothschild. The fact was that in 1910, the United States was for all practical purposes being ruled from England, and so it is today' (Mullins, p. 47-48).
He further commented that the day the Federal Reserve Act was passed, "the Constitution ceased to be the governing covenant of the American people, and our liberties were handed over to a small group of international bankers" (Ibid, p. 29).

Unfortunately, Mullins' source for the stockholders of the New York Fed could not be verified. He claimed his source was the Federal Reserve Bulletin, although it has never included shareholder information, nor has any other Federal Reserve periodical. It is difficult researching this particular claim because a Federal Reserve Bank is not a publicly traded corporation and is therefore not required by the Securities and Exchange Commission to publish a list of its major shareholders. The question of ownership can still be addressed, however, by examining the legal rules for acquisition of such stock. The Federal Reserve Act requires national banks and participating state banks to purchase shares of their regional Federal Reserve Bank upon joining the System, thereby becoming "member banks" (12 USCA 282). Since the eight banks Mullins named all operate within the New York Federal Reserve district, and are all nationally chartered banks, they are required to be shareholders of the New York Federal Reserve Bank. They are also probably the major shareholders as Mullins claimed.

Are these eight banks on Mullins' list of stockholders owned by foreigners, what Mullins termed the London Connection? The SEC requires the name of any individual or organization that owns more than 5 percent of the outstanding shares of a publicly traded firm be made public. If foreigners own any shares of Mullins' eight banks, then their portions are not greater than 5 percent at this time. With no significant holdings of the major New York area banks, it does not seem likely that foreign conspirators could direct their actions.

Perhaps foreigners own shares of the New York Federal Reserve Bank directly. The law stipulates a small portion of Federal Reserve stock may be available for sale to the public. No person or organization, however, may own more than $25,000 of such public stock and none of it carries voting rights (12 USCA 283). However, under the terms of the Federal Reserve Act, public stock was only to be sold in the event the sale of stock to member banks did not raise the minimum of $4 million of initial capital for each Federal Reserve Bank when they were organized in 1913 (12 USCA 281). Each Bank was able to raise the necessary amount through member stock sales, and no public stock was ever sold to the non-bank public. In other words, no Federal Reserve stock has ever been sold to foreigners; it has only been sold to banks which are members of the Federal Reserve System (Woodward, 1996).

Regardless of the foreign ownership conjecture, Mullins argued that since the money-center banks of New York owned the largest portion of stock in the New York Fed, they could hand-pick its board of directors and president. This would give them, and hence the London Connection, control over Fed operations and U.S. monetary policy. This argument is faulty because each commercial bank receives one vote regardless of its size, unlike most corporate voting structures in which the number of votes is tied to the number of shares a person holds (Ibid). The New York Federal Reserve district contains over 1,000 member banks, so it is highly unlikely that even the largest and most powerful banks would be able to coerce so many smaller ones to vote in a particular manner. To control the vote of a majority of member banks would mean acquiring a controlling interest in about 500 member banks of the New York district. Such an expenditure would require an outlay in the hundreds of billions of dollars. Surely there is a cheaper path to global domination.

An historical example may make clear that member banks do not control the Federal Reserve's policies. Galbraith (1990) recounted that in the spring of 1929 the New York Stock Exchange was booming. Prices there had been rising considerably, extending the bull market that had begun in 1924. The Federal Reserve Board decided to take steps to arrest the speculative bubble that appeared to have been forming: it raised the cost banks had to pay to borrow from the Federal Reserve and it increased speculators' margin requirements. Charles Mitchell, then the head of National City Bank (today known as Citibank), which was the largest shareholder of the New York Federal Reserve Bank according to Mullins, was so irritated by this decision that in a bank statement he wrote, "We feel that we have an obligation which is paramount to any Federal Reserve warning, or anything else, to avert any dangerous crisis in the money market" (Galbraith, p. 57). National City Bank promised to increase lending to offset any restrictive policies of the Federal Reserve. Wrote Galbraith, "The effect was more than satisfactory: the market took off again. In the three summer months, the increase in prices outran all of the quite impressive increase that had occurred during the entire previous year" (Ibid). If the Fed and its policies were really under the control of its major stockholders, then why did the Federal Reserve Board clearly buck the intent of its single largest shareholder?

This information also eluded fellow conspiracy theorist Gary Kah, who disagreed with Mullins on who owns the New York Fed. His Swiss and Saudi Arabian contacts identified the top eight shareholders as the Rothschild Banks of London and Berlin; Lazard Brothers Banks of Paris; Israel Moses Seif Banks of Italy; Warburg Bank of Hamburg and Amsterdam; Lehman Brothers of New York; Kuhn, Loeb Bank of New York; Chase Manhatten; and Goldman, Sachs of New York (Kah, p. 13). It is impossible to verify Kah's information because it is not known who his "contacts" were. Nevertheless, Kah's list differs substantially from Mullins' compilation. Most interestingly, in Kah's list foreigners own the New York Fed directly without having to own majority interests in U.S. banks, as is the case with Mullins' list. The discrepancies in the two lists mean that at least one of them is wrong, and possibly both. Kah's list is the bogus one because no public stock has ever been issued, so it is not possible for anyone on Kah's list other than Chase Manhatten to own shares of the New York Fed.

Moreover, Kah seemed ignorant of important details about the organization of Federal Reserve stock and management, especially for someone claiming to have done as much research on the subject as he did. He referred to the organizations on his stockholders list as "Class A shareholders," which is curious because Federal Reserve stock is not classified in this manner (Ibid). It can be either member stock, which can be purchased only by commercial banks and thrifts seeking to become members of the Federal Reserve System, or public stock. However, the directors of a Federal Reserve bank are separated into Class A, B, and C categories, depending on how they are appointed (12 USCA 302, 304, 305). Three class A directors are chosen by the member banks. Three class B directors are also elected by the member banks to represent the non-bank sectors of the economy. The final three directors, class C, are picked by the Board of Governors also to represent the non-bank public. This may be the source of Kah's confusion, but it is a relatively simple point that he should have detected had his research efforts been thorough.

Does the New York Fed Call the Shots?
Mullins and Kah further argued that by controlling the New York Fed the international banking elite could command the entire Federal Reserve System, and thus direct U.S. monetary policy for their own profit. "For all practical purposes," Kah stressed, "the Federal Reserve Bank of New York is the Federal Reserve" (Ibid). This is the linchpin of their conspiracy theory because it provides the mechanism by which the international bankers execute their plans.

A brief look at how the Fed's powers over monetary policy are actually distributed shows that the key assumption in the Mullins-Kah conspiracy theory is erroneous. The Federal Reserve System is controlled not by the New York Fed, but by the Board of Governors (the Board) and the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC). The Board is a seven member panel appointed by the President and approved by the Senate. It determines the interest rate, known as the discount rate, for loans to commercial banks and thrifts, selects the required reserve ratio which determines how much of customer deposits a bank must keep on hand (a factor that significantly affects a bank's ability create new loans), and also decides how much new currency Federal Reserve Banks may issue each year (12 USCA 248). The FOMC consists of the members of the Board, the president of the New York Fed, and four presidents from other Fed Banks. The FOMC formulates open market policy, which determines how much in government bonds the Fed Banks may trade, and is the most effective and commonly used of the Fed's monetary policy tools (12 USCA 263). The key point is that a Federal Reserve Bank cannot change its discount rate or required reserve ratio, issue additional currency, or purchase government bonds without the explicit approval of either the Board or the FOMC.

The New York Federal Reserve Bank through its direct and permanent representation on the FOMC has more say on monetary policy than other Federal Reserve Banks, but it still only has one vote of twelve on the FOMC and no say at all in setting the discount rate or the required reserve ratio. If it wanted monetary policy to go in one direction, while the Board and the rest of the FOMC wanted policy to go another, then the New York Fed would be out-voted. The powers over U.S. monetary policy rest firmly with the publicly-appointed Board of Governors and the Federal Open Market Committee, not with the New York Federal Reserve Bank or a group of international conspirators.

Mullins also made a great to-do about the Federal Advisory Council (the Council). This is a panel of twelve representatives appointed by the board of directors of each Fed Bank. The Council meets at least four times each year with the members of the Board to give them their advice and to discuss general economic conditions (12 USCA 261, 262). Many of the members have been bankers, a point not at all missed by Mullins. He speculated that it is able to force its will on the Board of Governors.

The claim that the "advice" of the council members is not binding on the Governors or that it carries no weight is to claim that four times a year, twelve of the most influential bankers in the United States take time from their work to travel to Washington to meet with the Federal Reserve Board merely to drink coffee and exchange pleasantries (Mullins, p. 45).

A point very much missed by Mullins is that the Council has no voting power in Board meetings, and thus has no direct input into monetary policy. In support of his hypothesis that Council members have been able to impose their will on the Board, Mullins offered no evidence, not even an anecdote. Moreover, his Council theory is inconsistent with his general thesis that the Federal Reserve System is manipulated by European banking interests through their control of the New York Fed. If this were true, then why would they also need the Council?

Who Gets the Fed's Profits?
Gary Kah and Thomas Schauf have also maintained that the huge profits of the Federal Reserve System are diverted to its foreign owners through the dividends paid to its stockholders. Kah reported "Each year billions of dollars are 'earned' by Class A stockholders of the Federal Reserve" (Kah, p. 20). Schauf further lamented by asking, "When are the profits of the Fed going to start flowing into the Treasury so that average Americans are no longer burdened with excessive, unnecessary taxes?"

The Federal Reserve System certainly makes large profits. According to the Board's 1995 Annual Report, the System had net income totaling $23.9 billion, which, if it were a single firm, would qualify it as one of the most profitable companies in the world. How were these profits distributed? By an agreement between the Board of Governors and the Treasury, nearly all of the Fed's annual profits are paid to the federal government. Accordingly, a lion's share of $23.4 billion, which represents 97.9 percent of the Federal Reserve's net income, was transferred to the Treasury. The Federal Reserve Banks kept $283 million, and the remaining $231 million was paid to its stockholders as dividends.

Given that less than one percent of the Fed's net earnings are distributed as dividends, it seems that an investor could easily find much more profitable ways to store their wealth than buying Federal Reserve stock. Regarding Schauf's lamentation, the Federal Reserve System has been paying its profits to the Treasury since 1947.

Conclusion
It does not appear that the New York Federal Reserve Bank is owned, either directly or indirectly, by foreigners. Neither Mullins nor Kah provided verifiable sources for their allegations, nor did their mysterious sources agree on exactly who owns the New York Federal Reserve Bank. Moreover, their central assumption that control of the New York Federal Reserve is the same as control of the whole System is wrong and demonstrates a lack of understanding of the System's basic organizational structure. The profits of the Federal Reserve System, again contrary to the assertion of Kah and Schauf, are funneled back to the federal government, not to an "international banking elite." If the U.S. central bank is in the grip of a banking conspiracy, then Mullins and Kah have certainly not uncovered it.

Behold a Pale Horse - William Cooper (Full Presentation)

Published on Mar 6, 2012 by Eyes4theProfane

Ths is Bill's presentation titled after his book he authored, "Behold a Pale Horse." He covers a wide array of topics and imparts tons of great material to his audience (in a school gymnasium in California if I'm not mistaken.)

You will also see pictures of UFO, black project crafts from Area 51 "Groom Lake", etc. He tells about his trips to that area in Nevada with others where they'd sit for hours watching the skies and seeing "test flights" from Area 51 of different UFO's and the likes. Pretty amazing stuff!

I, for one, know that UFO's are real... (I have footage all over my channel of my own authentic video recordings for one)... the thing we don't know about them is their origin, who made them, and what their main objective(s) is/are!

Please check out the Hour of the Time website: http://www.hourofthetime.com/

And thank the good people over there for keeping Bill's legacy alive! ---- http://eyesfortheprofane.com/ Peace&Love God bless Chris

Christian conservatives angered by Obama's comments on Islam at UN

Some right-wing commentators saw president's discussion of hate speech as a thinly veiled attack on American Christians

Barack Obama has drawn fire from the Christian right over his attempt to criticise Muslims who are offended by slander of the prophet Mohammed while desecrating other religions.
Right-wing critics turned on the president over his speech to the United Nations in which he sought to dampen the backlash against the anti-Muslim film that prompted violence across the Middle East earlier this month. They accused him of saying that the foundation of Christianity is itself a slander against Islam.
Obama told the UN that the modern world presents a unique challenge because "anyone with a cell phone can spread offensive views around the world with the click of a button". He said the notion that the flow of information can be controlled is obsolete and so the question is how to respond to offensive material.
The president said that there is no justification for violence and the killing of innocents in response to an offending video or hate speech because that "empowers any individual who engages in such speech to create chaos around the world".
"We empower the worst of us if that's how we respond," he said.
Obama returned to the theme later in the speech when he implicitly noted the hypocrisy of those who resort to violence because they believe their religion is offended while refusing to respect the beliefs of others. That's when he upset some on the Christian right.
"The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam. But to be credible, those who condemn that slander must also condemn the hate we see in the images of Jesus Christ that are desecrated, or churches that are destroyed, or the Holocaust that is denied. Let us condemn incitement against Sufi Muslims and Shiite pilgrims," he told the UN.
"It's time to heed the words of Gandhi: 'intolerance is itself a form of violence and an obstacle to the growth of a true democratic spirit.' Together, we must work towards a world where we are strengthened by our differences, and not defined by them. That is what America embodies, that's the vision we will support."
The backlash was almost immediate with some on the right saying the president was launching a thinly veiled attack on Christians.
"It is an orthodox Christian belief that Mohammed is not a prophet," wrote Erick Erickson, the editor of the conservative website Red State. "Actual Christians, as opposed to many of the supposed Christians put up by the mainstream media, believe that Christ is the only way to salvation. Believing that is slandering Mohammed."
Erickson also saw a double standard in Obama condemning the slander of Mohammed while condemning only the desecration of the image of Christ.
"Note he says we cannot 'slander the prophet of Islam' but it's only the image of Christ in the next sentence – not actually Christ himself desecrated. If this is so, why does Barack Obama's government continue funding the National Endowment for the Arts, which funds Christ in piss, the Virgin Mary painted in dung, etc.?" he said.
Another conservative site that pushes an interpretation of Christian values, Sword at the Ready, accused the president of the apparently contradictory aims of "an all-out attack on faith" while also attempting to appease the Muslim world.
"Since all Islam demands everyone recognize Mohammed as God's true prophet – for the Salafists, Sufis and Shia – anyone who does not acknowledge the prophet is considered not only an infidel – but slander the prophet by their refusal to submit to him," it said. "Obama knows this having been raised a Muslim in Indonesia. His speech at the UN was an all-out assault on not only freedom of speech, but of faith. In cleverly cloaked words to deceive ignorant Americans, key phrases ping the ears that the Muslim world will understand what Obama really means."
John Bolton, the former US ambassador to the UN and arch conservative, derided Obama for "moral equivalence" for allegedly suggesting that the anti-Islam film was equally as offensive as the killings that followed it.
"It was like a great big warm fuzzy blanket. The president comes out in favour of tolerance. There's your breaking news," Bolton told Fox News. "The problem with the speech was that it was infused with the fallacy of moral equivalency – that there's sort of extremism and intolerance everywhere and it's all the same."
Obama also sought to defend the US from criticism in the Arab world that it did not ban the offending video on the grounds of the constitutional protection of free speech.
"Here in the United States, countless publications provoke offence. Like me, the majority of Americans are Christian, and yet we do not ban blasphemy against our most sacred beliefs. Moreover, as president of our country, and commander-in-chief of our military, I accept that people are going to call me awful things every day, and I will always defend their right to do so. Americans have fought and died around the globe to protect the right of all people to express their views – even views that we disagree with," he said.
While that statement may be open to challenge on several levels, including the claim that the US has defended free speech around the globe, Erickson attacked it on the grounds that in criticising the offending video the president was intruding on the rights of those who made it.
"Just words, Mr President? You say 'there is no speech that justifies mindless violence', but all last week you condemned a ridiculous video trailer for a movie that does not exist. Your government ran advertisements in Pakistan denouncing the video. What of free speech, Mr President? Last week you were saying the violence was understandable given the offensive film and this week you are trying to claim it was mindless," he wrote.

'Things were shaking': Powerful earthquake rocks remote Alaska island

By Reuters

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - A powerful earthquake rocked one of the few inhabited islands in Alaska's Aleutian chain on Wednesday, but no damage has been found, federal and local officials said.

The magnitude 6.9 quake, centered 80 miles southwest of Adak, struck at 3:40 p.m. local time (7.40 p.m. ET), the West Coast and Alaska Tsunami Warning Center said. No tsunami warning was issued, but scientists will monitor the area for any possible earthquake-related waves, center        Director Paul Whitmore said.
In Adak, a community of about 330, "We definitely felt it," City Manager Layton Lockett said.
The building that houses city offices and the local school, engineered to withstand frequent earthquakes that strike the region, performed as designed, Lockett said.
."You could just hear the building move, and things were shaking," he said.
No damage was found, though officials were concerned about the fate of underground pipes, he said. The school, which has about 20 students, was out of session at the time.
Adak, an island city about 1,300 miles southwest of Anchorage, is a converted U.S. Navy station that once housed 6,000 people. It now operates as a port and seafood-processing center serving the North Pacific commercial fishing fleet.
Other moderate earthquakes have struck western Alaska in recent days, according to the center.
A magnitude 4.9 quake was recorded 90 miles west of the Alaska Peninsula town of Cold Bay on Tuesday. A magnitude 5.2 quake about 90 miles southwest of Kodiak was recorded on Sept. 18.

I am a Seventh-Gay Adventist

Eliel Cruz

Posted: 09/25/2012 7:44 pm

Christianity and homosexuality have always been perceived to be two separate worlds. Like oil and water, they didn't seem to quite mix, one always seemingly contradicting the other. That is why it felt like the ground was taken from underneath my feet when I realized I was queer. Surely I couldn't be into the same sex -- I was a Christian, and a Seventh-day Adventist at that. I was 13 and terrified. It wasn't until years later and much time spent fervently researching scripture and reading articles by respected thought leaders and Biblical scholars that I was able to reconcile my faith and sexuality. I am a young Seventh-day Adventist, bisexual male -- and that's not an oxymoron, yet it still is an everyday struggle as I continue wrestle with how to follow both my faith and my heart.
This summer, I watched a film that covers this very ground. I had the privilege of attending a private screening of the newly released documentary Seventh-Gay Adventists: A film about faith on the margins. Seventh-Gay Adventists documents the lives of three couples who identify as members of both the queer community and the very conservative Seventh-day Adventist faith community.
The Seventh-Gay Adventists story is my story.
I grew up Seventh-day Adventist. I have only attended Adventist-affiliated educational institutions and have grown up immersed in the Adventist culture. Adventism is a lot more than just a set of beliefs -- it's an entire culture and identity. It's not uncommon for an Adventist young person (or adult) to really only know other Adventists, and the idea of leaving, even if you have good reason to, like being a marginalized LGBT member, would be as difficult as trying to change my orientation. I want both my queer community and my church community to know -- this is me. I am a bisexual person of faith. It's who I am.
First, a little history. Seventh-day Adventism grew out of Methodism and the Millerite movement and dates back to the 1800's. In addition to anticipating the Second Advent of Jesus Christ, a distinguishing belief is keeping Sabbath on Saturday, the seventh day of the week. Adventists keep Sabbath much more like Jews than like other Christians, and the rhythm, belief and community around Sabbath is a core component of this faith. And then there are a host of other cultural traditions -- like (mostly) being vegetarian, abstaining from alcohol, tobacco, dancing, sometimes even caffeine and movies. It's a unique faith community.
While the Adventist church has a lot of distinctive beliefs and traditions, when it comes to homosexuality, it's as condemning of same-gender relationships as other conservative denominations. The church's official statement says that "sexual intimacy belongs only within the marital relationship of a man and a woman."* Many of our churches paint themselves homophobic, casting queer members out of the churches, queer students from academies, and leaving no room for real conversation. Yet there are those of us who fight through the persecution, sitting weekly in the pews to have fellowship with our fellow Christian brethren. As Pastor Marcos Apolonio, a main subject in the Seventh-Gay Adventists film puts it, "We pay a very high price to keep our faith."
Adventists, as well as many Christian denominations, have continually attempted to sweep homosexuality under the proverbial rug. "Don't Ask/Don't Tell" has infected our congregations. The discriminatory and homophobic policies and practices that we see all around us have their roots in our churches, which is deeply ironic, given that Jesus' entire life and mission was about love, a love so profound that he was willing to die to demonstrate its depths.
Well, I believe that it's time for Christianity to come out of the closet of close-mindedness. It's time to admit that "Don't Ask/Don't Tell" hasn't worked. Preaching fear and ignorance hasn't worked. All that the status quo has produced is extreme divisiveness and the shocking statistic that Christian LGBT youth are four times more likely to commit suicide. Think about that for a moment.
And, as Brian McLaren points out in his introduction to Andrew Marin's Love is an Orientation, "Jesus didn't say, 'They'll know you are my disciples by your firm stance on divisive social issues.'"
One of my favorite moments in Seventh-Gay Adventists is when one of the main subjects quotes Pablo Neruda: "You can pick all of the flowers, but you can't stop the spring." This is what we, the LGBT Adventists, are telling our church. You can try to keep picking all of the flowers, but spring is coming.
That spring can include room for all of us, but it takes true dialogue and respect. For too long fear of the Other, fear of the unknown, fear of being wrong, fear of the proverbial slippery slope has kept dialogue from happening. Ghandi said, "The enemy is fear. We think it's hate; but, it is fear." It is fear that has kept conversation from taking place and fear that will keep us from equality in our churches.
But that is changing. More and more people, particularly of my generation, are standing up and sharing their stories. Films like Seventh-Gay Adventists are spurring a new type of discussion through the stories of people that many of us (in the queer community and the Adventist church) didn't acknowledge or respect. It's a stepping stone for us all to practice what we preach. Can we be known by our love?**
Seventh-Gay Adventists is currently screening at LGBT film festivals (including the Southwest Gay & Lesbian Film festival, the Seattle Lesbian & Gay Film festival in October), and it's also coming to New York City on October 13th.
What I appreciate most is that this film is helping bridge the gap between the faith and LGBT communities. It's helping gay people of faith see stories of others who also have to reconcile their faith and sexuality, and, even more importantly, it's helping conservative churches start realizing that they have people like me sitting in their pews.
As a young Adventist, I envision a day where, not just the Adventist church, but Christianity as a whole, will wholeheartedly participate in an actual dialogue where we listen before judging. We may not always agree, but we have to start listening and respecting each other. There should never have to be a choice between faith and sexuality. For those LGBTQIA people that are brave enough to stay in the pews of your churches for fellowship and worship, thank you. To the rest of you in the neighboring pews, please just listen. That's all I ask. Our lives literally depend on how we proceed with this conversation.

Out of the cities, is my message at this time

In the future cities will certainly feel the terrible results of earthquakes and fires. Cities will be destroyed by flood and by lightnings. Out of the cities, is my message at this time.

Be assured that the call is for our people to locate miles away from the large cities....Do not establish institutions in the cities, but seek a rural location. The call is, "come out from among them, and be ye separate" [2 Corinthians 6:17]. The very atmosphere of the cities is polluted. Let your schools be established away from the cities, where agricultural and other industries can be carried on.

The Lord calls for His people to locate away from the cities, for in such an hour as ye think not, fire and brimstone will be rained from heaven upon these cities. Proportionate to their sins will be their visitation. When one city is destroyed, let not our people regard this matter as a light affair and think that they may, if favorable opportunity offers, build themselves homes in that same destroyed city....

Let all who would understand the meaning of these things read the eleventh chapter of Revelation. Read every verse, and learn the things that are yet to take place in the cities. Read also the scenes portrayed in the eighteenth chapter of the same book.

"And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, My people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues" [Revelation 18:4]. It will not be to the credit of any who believe the word of the prophecies of this book to ignore the special indications of God and show indifference in regard to this wonderful display of the power of God because of the sins of...[San Francisco, which was] recently destroyed. The Lord forbids that those who have witnessed this great destruction shall make light of the matter and flatter themselves that in the future they will have buildings far in advance of any buildings they have yet had, for, if those who have felt the rebuke of God shall set themselves defiantly to invest their means as they have done, God will exercise His power to counteract their efforts....

Unbelief has taken possession of men who have been warned in regard to the seducing influence of Satan's working and the methods of his work, yet who have taken no heed. They are of a party that will give heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. Where is this party that will depart from the faith?--Consider this: Do not place in charge of your important work, or even of the less important enterprises, those who will lead minds away from the truth which is to decide the destiny of souls....Place not men in positions of Holy office who will not listen to God's counsel concerning His way and His will. There are influences working mightily against the very work God requires to be done.

Manhattan Adventist Church Remembers World Trade Center Tragedy

The Seventh-day Adventist Church located nearest ground zero for the “9-11” terrorist attack that brought down the World Trade Center and caused the deaths of nearly 3,000 people conducted “A Night of Remembrance” Tuesday evening. “Vocalists, a cellist and other gifted musicians and poets,” ten all together, participated in "an evening of peace … in memory of those who lost their lives,” said Pastor Tony Romeo. Two were actors who work regularly on Broadway.

Located in a historic building in the Greenwich Village neighborhood in lower Manhattan, the church is literally a few yards from streets that were filled with police, fire fighters, and emergency medical personnel on that bright, September morning. It was the worst moment in recent American history and Adventist volunteers opened the church to provide respite and refreshments that day.

“Two candles were lit,” Romeo described the evening. “Songs were so(u)ng and [there was] a prayer for peace.” The event was simple, quiet and dignified. Following the concert, there was food and the sharing of stories. The general public from the West Village area was invited and more than 125 people showed up. Catholics, Jews, Hindus, people of all faiths participated, including "many people with no faith," the pastor told Adventist Today. "Many suggested they want to join us for worship on Saturday morning ... some of whom said that they had lived in the village for 20 years and never set foot in our church and loved it."

The Manhattan Adventist Church is located at 232 West 11th Street, just one and a half blocks west of Seventh Avenue South. Romeo is a New York City native who worked on Madison Avenue in the advertising industry before becoming a pastor and church planter.

JUDGE STRIKES DOWN INDEFINITE DETENTION, OBAMA APPEALS

Judge Strikes Down Indefinite Detention, Obama Appeals
By Pete Papaherakles
On September 12, civil liberties advocates sighed in relief as U.S. Judge Katherine Forrest permanently struck down indefinite detention provisions of the notorious National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). This blatant violation of Americans’ constitutional liberties is law no more, although an appeal is still possible.
Judge Forrest ruled that the law was unconstitutional. “First Amendment rights are guaranteed by the Constitution and cannot be legislated away,” the judge wrote. “This court rejects the government’s suggestion that American citizens can be placed in military detention indefinitely for acts they could not predict might subject them to detention.”
According to an article in RT, “Only hours after Judge Forrest issued last week’s ruling, the Obama administration threatened to appeal the decision, and on Monday morning they followed through. At around 9 a.m. Monday, September 17, the White House filed an emergency stay in federal appeals court in an effort to have the Second Circuit strip away Judge Forrest’s ruling from the week earlier.”
Section 1021 of the NDAA, which contained the controversial provisions, would have allowed for indefinitely detaining U.S citizens without the right of habeas corpus. This right is so fundamental to the Constitution that it was one of the main causes for the American War of Independence. Habeas corpus, which translates as “you shall have the body,” states that an accused person must be physically brought before a judge with a statement demonstrating sufficient cause for arrest.
The Continental Congress held King George III accountable for his failure to enforce this basic human right. Yet in 2012 our own government saw fit to deprive its own citizens of this same right in the name of fighting terrorism. By redefining what a terrorist is, theDepartment of Homeland Security would have potentially been able to indefinitely detain any American without formally charging him of a specific crime.
The NDAA had been challenged earlier this year by journalists, scholars and political activists including Chris Hedges, Noam Chomsky, Daniel Ellsberg and Naomi Wolf. A temporary injunction had already been placed on the provision by Judge Forrest in May. Hedges, a Pulitzer prize winner and former New York Times war correspondent, led the challenge with a lawsuit against the bill in January. The plaintiffs testified in court that they had no assurance that their writing and advocacy activities could not be deemed “terrorism.”
The provision subjected to indefinite detention anyone who “substantially” or “directly” provided “support” to terrorists. Judge Forrest questioned how “substantial support” can be determined. “That’s no small question” she said. “It’s a question about defining an individual’s core liberties.”
She questioned the criteria and the methods the government would use to determine if an article or video posted to the Internet “substantially supported” the terrorists or even how to distinguish between “modest” and “substantial” support.
“In short, the court can find no authority in domestic law or the law of war, nor can the government point to any, to justify the concept of ‘support’ as a valid ground for detention” she said.
Plaintiffs’ lawyer Bruce Afran called the ruling “historic” and said it was rare in the last half century that a judge would declare a federal statute unconstitutional for directly intruding on speech.

Once Saved Always Saved False Gospel

 Hebrews 10:26-27
For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

 Hebrews 12:14
Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

 Revelation 3:16
So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

Speaking from experience, I used to believe this false, man-made doctrine as well so don't feel bad. The reason I defended it so much was because I was living in sin and didn't think it was possible to live a holy life. Unfortunately for me, at the time, I was actually a goat and not a true convert in Jesus Christ. Now that I know the truth that is Christ Jesus I can fully understand why people defend it... because they're living in sin.

We need to separate ourselves from the world and seek out God w/ all our heart, soul, strength, and mind to fully understand His word. 2 Corinthians 6:17, Mark 12:30 W/o His guidance we will surely hold onto man-made religions/doctrines/gospels.

The First Angel's Message: The Everlasting Gospel

Uploaded by RepaireroftheBreach on Feb 2, 2011

The First Angel's Message. The first of God's last three messages to mankind before the return of Christ. A call to return to the True worship of the Creator as Satan seeks to deceive souls through a counterfeit system of worship. Worship God, or worship the Beast. "..to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness." (Rom 6:16)

About the Seminars and Mini-Expo Style Booths
What will you do when, for whatever reason, you do not have electricity?  Will you be able to get water from your well?  Do you even have your own water source?  Will you be able to keep your home warm?   Will you be dependent on the grocery store for food?  These are the most basic physical necessities of life, and they are topics that are just as applicable to those currently living in the country as to city dwellers.  In the last century, almost everyone in America has become completely dependent for even these most basic necessities.
In our seminars and booths, you will first learn why a simpler, prepared lifestyle is so important--not only from a physical perspective, but also from a spiritual standpoint.  With that foundation, we delve into the practical "how to do it" kinds of topics.  We will be exploring how you can become as independent as possible for the basic necessities of life--water, shelter, and food. How you can not only survive, but also thrive! So that you can be a help and blessing to others in the days ahead. And so you can be part of the solution, rather than part of the problem.
In addition to essential seminars with vital info on how to provide for life's basic necessities, we are adding an exciting interactive segment with expo style booths at many locations on this trip.  Please see each individual location's page for details.  Examples of topics and interactive booths/demos include:
  • Renewable Energy Systems
  • Have Your Own Year Round Grocery Store at Home
  • Independent Water Systems
  • What to Look for in Land or a Homestead
  • Heating with Wood
  • Live Canning & Bread Making Demos
  • Health Preparedness
  • Natural Remedies Live Demos

Anti-jihad 'savage' ads going up in NYC subway

Updated September 20, 2012, 6:01 p.m. ET

Associated Press

NEW YORK — Ads that call some radical Muslims "savage" are going to be posted in the New York City subway system next week. Conservative blogger Pamela Geller won a court order that allowed her to put the ads up Monday in 10 subway stations. New York transit officials had initially refused to run the ad, calling it "demeaning."

The ad reads: "In any war between the civilized man and the savage, support the civilized man. Support Israel. Defeat Jihad."

Geller — who once campaigned against a planned Islamic center near ground zero — says she isn't concerned that the ads will spark violent protests that have rocked the Middle East over an anti-Islamic film.

New York Muslim leaders called the ad hate speech. The ad has also appeared on San Francisco buses.
