True Lies
The proceedings for the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice nominee Sonia Sotomayor in Washington D.C. are so predictable that even Stevie Wonder can see that it's just a mere formality; Since all indications assure that Ms. Sotomayor will become the 6th U.S. Supreme Court Justice of the (preside with 5 others) Roman Catholic persuasion.
On Monday, the first day of the hearings , Senator Lindsey Graham (Republican) of South Carolina1, stated that Judge Sotomayor will be confirmed unless she has a meltdown. Today on NPR, I heard a man state that Sotomayor will be confirmed unless she admits to being a confidential secretary to ex-Vice President Dick Cheney; alluding to the recent noose (faux news) of Secret CIA missions; One of those secret operations were that the CIA had contracts to assassinate Al Quaeda leaders.....
Let me say for the record that I don't question her qualifications, her expertise, or her ethics; It's a honor to have a Hispanic woman from New York City serve on the highest court in the United States; My concern is that President Obama showed his intent to "stack" the Supreme Court with Roman Catholics (presently have 5 ) by nominating Sonia Sotomayor. If there were currently 2 or 3 Catholics, and Sotomayor would make 4 is one thing? But 6? Two is a couple, three is a crowd.
What is 6? 6 out of 9? Gimme a break!
I summarize the whole affair with three letters; They are the three initials of the countries that President Obama recently visited on his Europe-Africa tour:
Russia
Italy
Ghana
That's what I think this (hearings) whole exercise in futility amounts to. RIG
