Global oceans break June temperature record with fears they’re headed into ‘uncharted territory’

The planet’s oceans are at unprecedented temperatures for this time of year, breaking the all-time June record, according to new data, with alarming implications for global weather and marine life.

On June 21, average global sea surface temperatures reached 69.5 degrees Fahrenheit (20.86 Celsius), edging above the June record last set in 2024, according to data from Europe’s Copernicus Climate Change Service, which combines measurements from satellites, ships and buoys.

The record was echoed in another data set. Data from the Copernicus Marine Service, implemented by the non-profit Mercator Ocean International, found sea temperatures hit 69.38 Fahrenheit (21 Celsius) on June 21, beating the previous record last set in 2024 by 0.18 degrees Fahrenheit.

The abnormal heat has been driven by the onset of El Niño, a natural climate pattern characterized by unusually warm waters along the equatorial tropical Pacific Ocean. El Niño has only just started but it may intensify into one of the strongest in decades.

Layered underneath that is the human-driven climate crisis, which is also driving up temperatures. For decades, oceans have acted as the planet’s main heat sink, absorbing 90% of the excess heat produced by humans burning fossil fuels.

“Rising sea surface temperatures are therefore not unexpected,” said Michael Meredith, an ocean scientist at the British Antarctic Survey. “But the pace of warming we are now seeing is alarming.”

It’s not yet clear whether this unprecedented June heat is temporary or a sign of things to come, but experts are expressing concern.

“Current conditions could indicate the beginning of a new phase, leading, once more, to uncharted territory,” said Carlo Buontempo, director of Copernicus Climate Change Service. “With ocean temperatures at these levels and El Niño on the horizon, we are likely to see more temperature records fall in the coming months.”

What happens in the oceans has huge implications for global weather patterns. Hotter oceans keep the air warmer, fueling heat waves; energize storms making them fiercer; and increase evaporation, boosting the chances of extreme rainfall and flooding.

Ocean heat can also lead to the mass bleaching of coral reefs, the death of other marine life and increased sea level rise.

Red sky seen in Western Australia ahead of Cyclone Narelle makes global headlines

Red sky seen in WA ahead of Cyclone Narelle makes global headlines

Scenes of an eerie, blood-red sky cast over the Western Australian landscape ahead of Tropical Cyclone Narelle have made worldwide news.

As the cyclone made its way to the West Australian coast on Friday, residents of Shark Bay — about 500 kilometres south of Exmouth, where the cyclone made landfall — saw an apocalyptic-like scene, as the thick dust coated the air.

Kerrie Shepherd, from the Shark Bay Caravan Park, said she had never seen anything like it.

"The skies just kept getting more and more orange as the afternoon went on and then, at about 3:30pm, we went outside and it was that colour," she said.

"It was red all the way along, everywhere we looked.

"It got into your throat and into your mouth. It was crunchy and gritty in your teeth, even in your eyes."

CIA accused of 'poisoning the sky' with toxins as files expose secret weather control agenda

Once top-secret CIA files have detailed America's plans to control the world by manipulating the weather.

The documents, declassified in 2003, discussed the controversial topic of weather modification, the tactic of launching rockets or using planes to dump chemicals into the atmosphere that alter the climate and local storm systems.

Although the resurfaced documents from 1965 did not mention the specific chemicals used in the experiments, they did discuss the need for more funding of the weather modification projects that would soon be used as a weapon of war.

In fact, the memos noted that federal funding for the secret program was set to be four times higher in 1967 - the same year the US began spraying toxins over Vietnam to cause floods and landslides.

One post on X claimed: 'The CIA has been poisoning the sky and controlling the weather since 1965!'

The 18-page report was recently shared by conspiracy theorists, years after it was quietly placed into the CIA's public archives, including a letter praising the classified operation from US President Lyndon B Johnson.

Johnson's endorsement of the CIA's weather modification project came just three years after he gave an ominous speech on the future of America and the work to create 'weather satellites' with the power to strengthen storms.

While giving the commencement address at Southwest Texas State University in May 1962, then-Vice President Johnson said: 'He who controls the weather will control the world.'

Major Storm Alert: 70–80 MPH Winds, Heavy Snow, and Fire Weather Threat Spread Across U.S.

A powerful weather system is spreading multiple hazards across the U.S., including 70–80 mph winds, heavy snow in the northern states, and dangerous fire weather conditions across the Plains.

Drivers across several parts of the United States could face dramatically different weather hazards over the weekend and into next week as a powerful weather pattern pushes across the country.

Forecasters say a fast-moving storm system is expected to bring strong winds and heavy snow across the northern tier, while dangerous fire weather conditions develop across the Plains and unusually warm temperatures build across parts of the western U.S.

According to the National Weather Service’s Weather Prediction Center forecast discussion, an intensifying clipper-type system is expected to sweep from the northern Plains into the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes, bringing heavy snow and potentially damaging winds.

WEATHER CONTROL & THE GLOBAL JIHAD

Listen

NOISE OF THUNDER RADIO - 10.17.2024

Today's Show: WEATHER CONTROL & THE GLOBAL JIHAD

Chris discusses the storms that have hit Tennessee and North Carolina, along with claims of weather control technology. Is it real? We hear audio of LBJ saying, "He who controls the weather controls the world." Also discussed is the endorsement by Muslim leaders of VP Kamala Harris and Gov. Tim Walz. Walz has reportedly promised Muslims an "equal role" in the Harris administration. We also examine the recent predictions of a "bird flu" pandemic on the horizon.
