As ancient scripture promises in Ezekiel, only the Divine Spirit can perform the "spiritual heart transplant" necessary to replace a hardened spirit with one that is vibrant and new.

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa — Gen Z-led protests are making waves from Africa to Asia, and while the issues spurring them are different, the symbol they're using is the same: a grinning skull and crossbones wearing a straw hat.

It was there when young people angry with the lavish lifestyles of the elite brought down Nepal's government last month. It was visible in the Indonesian and Philippine protests this year, and again when Madagascan youth marched against chronic water and electricity shortages over the past 10 days. Right now, it's being waved at protests raging over poor healthcare in Morocco.

Why are frustrated youth taking to the streets worldwide raising this particular Jolly Roger?

The flag comes from a long-running Japanese anime and manga series called One Piece, about a rag-tag band of pirates dubbed "the straw hats," who are led by a cheerful character named Monkey D. Luffy and are fighting an oppressive world government.

It's become a global pop culture phenomenon, translated into multiple languages, and is now also a live-action Netflix series.

“The world today is grappling with a convergence of unprecedented economic, political, social, and environmental crises,” reads the message from the World Council of Churches, World Communion of Reformed Churches, Lutheran World Federation, World Methodist Council, Council for World Mission, and United Society Partners in the Gospel.

The message notes that, while the wealth of multi-millionaires and billionaires continues to soar, the vast majority of people struggle with rising costs for basic necessities, such as food and housing, and declining living standards.

“This deepening inequality has eroded trust in public institutions, weakened democratic systems, enabled corporate influence over state policy, and hindered progress on urgent climate action, reinforcing a vicious cycle of disparity and disempowerment,” reads the message. “We are amid an escalating crisis of biodiversity loss and climate change that threatens livelihoods and poses an existential risk to all life on Earth.”

Climate change also worsens sovereign debt burdens, the message notes.

Since the outbreak of COVID-19 outside of China, the World Health Organization (WHO) has taken a prominent role in the handling of the pandemic on a global level. The unquestioned power and influence of this organization created by the United Nations lead most governments around the world to shape their policies and pandemic response according to the WHO’s data and guidelines. In other words, nations enabled a global (and non-democratic) entity to dictate decisions that are taken on a national and local level.

The result of this direct pipeline between the WHO and national governments has been profound and far-reaching. Fueled by apocalyptic models and projections, governments were urged to confine their entire population while shutting down their entire economies for several months. The devasting consequences of this global lockdown are still difficult to quantify. However, a prediction made in my article COVID-19 Lockdown: A Global Human Experiment quickly came to fruition: Billions of dollars were funneled from the working class towards the elite.

So why is the WHO giving orders to nations and their democratically elected governments? Is it due to its proven track record and educated advice? Clearly not. Because the organization’s response to the pandemic at its earliest and most critical stages was nothing less than disastrous. Some might argue that it was even deliberate.

On January 14th, the WHO claimed that there was no human-to-human transmission – citing Chinese sources.

On February 4th, WHO director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus spoke against travel restrictions on China, saying such measures could cause “fear and stigma”. He added that there “no reason for panic and fear”, he said.

Since most world governments blindly followed the WHO’s recommendations, air travel from China continued for weeks and allowed the spread of the virus across the world. And, when some countries nevertheless moved forward to stop travel from China, the WHO actively lobbied against it.

The WHO directly lobbied against banning travel to countries, including China.

A statement released as late as February 29, argued against travel bans because they “may disrupt businesses, and may have negative social and economic effects on the affected countries”.

“WHO continues to advise against the application of travel or trade restrictions to countries experiencing COVID-19 outbreaks,” the statement said.

“In general, evidence shows that restricting the movement of people and goods during public health emergencies is ineffective in most situations and may divert resources from other interventions.”

Academic research by the University of Southampton has revealed up to 95 percent of deaths would not have happened if the WHO acted earlier.

The last sentence is particularly damning: 95% of deaths could have been avoided if the WHO did not go against travel bans from China. Considering the fact the WHO actively worked against the single most important measure to stop the spread of the virus, why is it still shaping government policies? Because it is linked to the global elite.


The Power of the WHO

Despite spreading information that was outright false and dangerous, the WHO remains unquestionably influential across the world. On April 18th, the organization showcased its immense power by broadcasting Together At Home, a massive media event that had countless celebrities and powerful people praise the WHO and the elite entities behind it.

The WHO is also heavily invested in controlling the flow of information regarding the virus.

Speaking on CNN’s Reliable Sources, YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki stated that the streaming platform would be “removing information that is problematic” and that would include “anything that is medically unsubstantiated”. She added:


“So people saying ‘take vitamin C; take turmeric, we’ll cure you’, those are the examples of things that would be a violation of our policy. Anything that would go against World Health Organisation recommendations would be a violation of our policy.”

Why would YouTube even care if people talked about vitamin C in their videos? Because, since the beginning of the outbreak, the WHO has been suspiciously against any kind of remedy or solution against COVID-19. Every single time a treatment shows promise, the WHO and the media system that caters to it are quick to warn against them and even label it as dangerous.

Why? Because the WHO is banking on a single, universal solution: A Vaccine.
A Vaccine and Nothing Else

To fully understand the mindset behind the WHO, we must look at the funding behind the WHO.

Interpol issues global security alert

Interpol has issued a global security alert calling for increased vigilance for terrorist activity after suspected al-Qaeda involvement in prison escapes including those in Iraq, Libya and Pakistan.

The international police organization says prison breakouts have occurred in nine Interpol member countries in the past month alone and requests the agency's 190 member countries' assistance to figure out whether such events are linked, the group said in a statement on its website Saturday.

Interpol's alert comes a day after the State Department issued a global travel alert because of an al-Qaeda terrorist threat, saying the potential for terrorism is particularly strong in the Middle East and North Africa. That travel alert goes through Aug. 31.





The U.S. also announced this week that it would close more than a dozen embassies and consulates throughout the Muslim world on Sunday, and possible longer.

The full statement from Interpol's alert reads:


Following a series of prison escapes across nine INTERPOL member countries in the past month alone, including in Iraq, Libya and Pakistan, the INTERPOL General Secretariat headquarters has issued a global security alert advising increased vigilance.

With suspected Al Qaeda involvement in several of the breakouts which led to the escape of hundreds of terrorists and other criminals, the INTERPOL alert requests the Organization's 190 member countries' assistance in order to determine whether any of these recent events are coordinated or linked.

INTERPOL is asking its member countries to closely follow and swiftly process any information linked to these events and the escaped prisoners. They are also requested to alert the relevant member country and INTERPOL General Secretariat headquarters if any escaped terrorist is located or intelligence developed which could help prevent another terrorist attack.

Staff at INTERPOL's 24-hour Command and Coordination Centre and other specialized units are also prioritizing all information and intelligence in relation to the breakouts or terrorist plots in order to immediately inform relevant member countries of any updates.

August is the anniversary of violent terrorist incidents in Mumbai, India and Gluboky, Russia as well as in Jakarta, Indonesia. This week also marks the 15th anniversary of the US Embassy bombings in Nairobi, Kenya and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania in which more than 200 mostly African citizens were killed and 4,000 others injured.

In recent years, terrorist attacks focusing on diplomatic facilities in Afghanistan, Greece, India, Kenya, Libya, Pakistan, Peru, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tanzania, Turkey and Yemen have also resulted in hundreds of casualties of all nationalities.

The US State Department has also issued a global travel alert in response to credible intelligence suggesting that Al-Qaeda and affiliated organizations continue to plan terrorist attacks between now and 31 August, particularly in the Middle East and North Africa. In addition to the US authorities announcing the one-day closure of more than 20 diplomatic missions on Sunday 4 August, the UK Foreign Office has also confirmed the closure of the British embassy in Yemen on 4 and 5 August.

Towards Global Sunday Law

Three Jewish men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, chose to follow their consciences, standing up against the king and his edict. Thus began a standoff that remains famous even to this day (see Daniel 3).

Unfortunately, we are seeing the same situation repeating itself today.

The Pope is calling for the world to acknowledge and honor Sunday as a day of rest. Legislation that will force the world to worship and rest on Sunday would be the ideal solution. There are many voices clamoring to fulfill exactly such a goal, using the economy, the environment, and even the family as reasons to legislate Sunday rest.

Another standoff is on the horizon. Those who refuse to give up the Biblical seventh-day Sabbath will face trials as tough as the furnace faced by Shadrach and his companions. However, we can hold fast hope, knowing that the God who spared the Israelite men from the fiery furnace is coming again soon.

World Press Freedom Day 2013

Because of the crucial role that journalists play, they are frequent targets of violence. According to UNESCO, more than 600 journalists have been killed over the past decade. In addition, journalists in some regions are surveilled and intimidated, or subjected to cyberattacks.

A number of Asian nations are particularly deadly for journalists. Mali, in Africa, has recently seen a downturn in press freedoms. In countries like Turkey and Tunisia, the courts are a preferred venue for silencing journalists who seek to publicize information that opposes the interests of the powerful. And in Southeastern Europe, business interests exert undue pressure on media.

Besides fostering a safe environment for journalists, laws need to be created and enforced to protect freedom of expression, which continues to be fundamental to democracy.
