Some of Chicago’s crimes are merely widespread immigration fraud

Story by Zachary Faria, Washington Examiner

Some of Chicago’s crimes are merely widespread immigration fraud

You may think that Chicago is a haven of violent crime. But wouldn’t you feel silly to learn that some of those documented crimes were merely fabricated for the purpose of immigration fraud?

A Chicago man by the name of Parth Nayi organized hundreds of fake robberies in Chicago to help noncitizens acquire immigration visas. The visas in question are “U visas,” which are granted to noncitizen victims of certain crimes if they assist law enforcement in investigations. The incentive, of course, is to allow people who are not in the country legally to come forward with knowledge of criminal acts without fearing deportation — the same logic Democratic politicians use when justifying the existence of sanctuary cities.

So, in a sanctuary city such as Chicago and in a country that incentivizes entrepreneurship, Nayi turned U visas into a business. Nayi charged people between $5,000 and $30,000 to be “robbed,” paying business owners a cut to use their businesses as public places for documentable “crimes.” He then organized fake robberies, making the noncitizens paying him appear to be crime victims and allowing them to be certified by police as eligible for a U visa.

It all seemingly went swimmingly until one of the actors shot a store employee during one such staged robbery. Gun safety was evidently not emphasized on the set of Nayi’s fake crimes.

Who could have guessed that the U visa would be exploited? Likely anyone who paid attention. Since the visa is designed for “victims of certain crimes who have suffered mental or physical abuse and are helpful to law enforcement or government officials in the investigation or prosecution of criminal activity,” there was a clear incentive to stage fake crimes.

Some Democratic politicians even abused the system, with the Democratic sheriff of Bexar County, Texas, distributing U visas to the illegal immigrants flown to Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, by Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL). You may recall that some liberal pundits accused DeSantis of “human trafficking” for that maneuver. Thus, amnesty for the illegal immigrants must be in order.

The U visa program was well-intentioned, but good intentions are often exploited by those with ill intentions. In this case, those ill-intentioned parties happened to be illegal immigrants hoping to defraud the system, several Chicagoans happy to waste police resources for money, and Democratic politicians looking for excuses for amnesty. Those are the people around whom immigration laws and visa exemptions must be crafted.

NY Times Endorses Migrants’ Law-Breaking, Poverty, and Exploitation

The New York Times is blessing the city’s population of illegal migrant street vendors as noble martyrs, despite the diverse economic damage they impose on ordinary New Yorkers.

The article’s headline, “For Senegalese Street Vendors in New York, ‘Work Is Worship,” obscures the reality that the poor illegal migrants survive by selling knockoff products, paying higher rents by crowding into apartments, and by dodging the property and city taxes paid by normal retailers.

But all is forgiven, perfumed, and downplayed by author Aimee Ortiz as she trills about the migrants’ diverse lawbreaking:

Most days, Khadim Ndiaye wakes up in the apartment he shares with five people in the Bronx and heads down to Canal Street, where he sets up shop on the sidewalk. Cat-eye, oversize and aviator frames bearing familiar logos — Prada, Gucci, Fendi — are among the sunglasses he hawks to passers-by.

Nearly all the migrants are men who have left their wives and families behind in Senegal.

Ortiz and her editors also wink at the cruel border policies that helped kill thousands of migrants during President Joe Biden’s term:

Mr. Ndiaye, 33, is among the thousands of Senegalese migrants who have made their way across the Atlantic from Dakar, Senegal’s capital, followed by a perilous overland trek through South and Central America to New York with one goal: to create a better life for themselves and their families in Senegal.

The article’s enthusiasm for diversity extends to praise for Islam, despite its role in suppressing democracy, human rights, and economic development:SUBSCRIBE

A US appeals court ruled 10-7 that immigrants detained after entering the country illegally are not constitutionally entitled to bond hearings, reversing a July ruling affecting Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi

A US federal appeals court has ruled that certain immigrants who entered the country without lawful admission are not constitutionally entitled to individual bond hearings while their removal proceedings are pending. On October 23, 2026, the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, sitting en banc, issued a 10-7 decision reversing an earlier ruling that had granted relief to three detained immigrants. According to the court’s opinion in Alvarado v. Vergara, available on Justia, the majority concluded that the Fifth Amendment does not require individual hearings to assess whether the men pose a danger to the community or a flight risk under the immigration detention provision at issue. The ruling reverses orders requiring authorities to provide the men with hearings within 90 days.

Appeals court reverses earlier ruling

The decision arose from consolidated cases involving Ignacio Sosnava Rodriguez, Alejandro Villegas Angel and Miguel Angel Gomez Alvarado. The three men challenged their detention through habeas corpus petitions, a legal procedure that allows people held by the government to ask a court to review the legality of their detention.

The men argued that holding them without individual bond hearings violated the Fifth Amendment’s protection against deprivation of liberty without due process of law. Federal district courts in Texas granted habeas relief, ordering the men’s release and barring immigration authorities from detaining them again without first conducting individual bond hearings to assess their dangerousness and flight risk.

In July 2026, a divided three-judge panel of the Fifth Circuit upheld those orders, concluding that the men were entitled to individual bond hearings within 90 days of their detention. The full appeals court subsequently reconsidered the cases. In its October 23 decision, the en banc court reversed the earlier rulings, concluding that the men were not constitutionally entitled to individual bond hearings while their removal proceedings remained pending.

THIS IS GOING VIRAL Dominik Tarczyński Has A Brutal Warning For Muslim Immigrants - This week, a Polish member of the European Parliament posted a message that's racing across the internet. "Dear jihadists, You've been warned. BE LIKE POLAND!" His name is Dominik Tarczyński, and he's been delivering this brutal warning for years. Asked how many Muslim illegal immigrants Poland had taken, he answered: none. "Not even one will come to Poland if it's illegal." Brussels sued Poland over it. Britain banned him. Now even his rivals repeat it.

He posted it on Monday, October 19th. Within two days, American outlets were running it. The replies poured in from every corner of the world. Some mocking. Some cheering. Nobody ignoring it.

Churches Strike Blow to Trump Admin in Fight Over ICE Raids

A federal appeals court has allowed a coalition of religious organizations to pursue its challenge to the Trump administration’s decision to lift restrictions on immigration enforcement at houses of worship.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit ruled 2-1 Tuesday that the religious organizations had sufficiently demonstrated standing at this stage of the case, reversing a lower court decision that found the threat of enforcement was not sufficiently imminent. U.S. Circuit Judge Florence Pan, a Biden appointee, joined by U.S. Circuit Judge Robert Wilkins, an Obama appointee, wrote the majority opinion. The case was sent back to U.S. District Judge Dabney Friedrich, a Trump appointee, to reconsider the request for a preliminary injunction. U.S. Circuit Judge Neomi Rao, a Trump appointee, dissented.

The ruling does not decide whether the administration’s policy is lawful, nor does it prohibit ICE from carrying out enforcement actions at churches.

What to Know About ICE Arrests at Churches and Schools

The legal disputes follow the administration’s elimination of protections that had generally discouraged immigration arrests and other enforcement activity at sensitive locations.

Religious organizations challenging the change say immigration enforcement in and around churches can deter some people from attending worship services and participating in ministries. The administration has argued that immigration officers should retain discretion to enforce federal law rather than be governed by categorical restrictions on particular locations.

Spain: 70% of migrants in Ceuta are claiming to be homosexuals in recent asylum applications

Homosexuality is illegal in Morocco

Last updated: October 19, 2026 22:00

By - Remix News Staff -

Spanish police sources say roughly 70 percent of recent asylum applications filed by Moroccan migrants in the North African enclave of Ceuta now claim persecution based on their homosexuality, a sharp change from the economic motives cited in the weeks after a large irregular entry in late July.

The report from Spanish newspaper ABC, citing Spanish National Police sources, also indicated that about 95 percent of the applications under review involve Moroccan nationals, and of those already decided, the rejection rate is estimated at about 99 percent.

Police have knowledge of at least 19 favorable decisions for people who entered during the July episode; five of those rested on sexual-orientation grounds.

The Unified Police Union (SUP) representative in Ceuta, Raúl Piera, told local media the share citing homosexuality has risen as high as 90 percent in the most recent filings. Applicants initially mentioned unemployment, family reunification or other reasons, he said.

After word circulated that economic grounds were unlikely to succeed, the accounts shifted.

“At first, they were not informed and did not know what they should say. But word spread,” Piera said.

Police sources have also raised the possibility that some applicants received advice, including from NGOs, on which grounds might improve their chances. While no fraud has been proven, the overwhelming amount of applications based on claims of homosexuality raises various red flags about the asylum application process.

Same-sex sexual relations are criminalized in Morocco under Article 489 of the penal code, which provides for prison terms of six months to three years. Spanish and European rules treat a well-founded fear of persecution on grounds of sexual orientation as a potential basis for protection.

Declaring oneself homosexual is not sufficient, however. Authorities examine the consistency of each account, personal circumstances and the risk upon return through interviews and documentation.

Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska, speaking in Ceuta, said a mere allegation is not enough: there must be “a principle of objective and clear proof” and “a minimum of serious evidence.”

Nearly 1,200 international-protection applications have been formalized since the late-July arrivals, of which roughly 700 have been resolved, according to government figures. An estimated 10,000 of those who crossed on July 30-31 remain in Ceuta, some in informal housing or remote areas. Many others have returned to Morocco voluntarily or through other processes.

The asylum claims continue to be assessed individually by the Office of Asylum and Refuge. Rejection does not automatically result in immediate removal; applicants must be notified, and some may abscond or challenge decisions in court, though the share pursuing judicial appeals has been described as very low.

Russia-Linked Group Claims Armed Incursion Into NATO Territory, Threatens Further Sabotage

An armed group calling itself “Black Rus” has claimed responsibility for a cross-border operation in Latvia involving masked individuals, damaged surveillance equipment, and an attempt to push 20 undocumented migrants across the border from Belarus.

A senior NATO strategic communications official said the incident showed signs of possible involvement by Russian and Belarusian intelligence services.

According to Latvia’s public broadcaster LSM on October 12, the group published a video statement on Telegram claiming responsibility for the incident, which took place overnight on October 5–6 near the Latvian-Belarusian border.

In the video, a masked man using a distorted voice and identifying himself as Neman, the group’s spokesperson, claimed that three members had participated in the operation. He also threatened further acts of sabotage against countries bordering Belarus.

Jānis Sārts, director of NATO’s Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence, suggested that the group was unlikely to be operating independently. He said the involvement of armed individuals in moving migrants toward Latvia’s border bore characteristics of an operation potentially coordinated by Russian and Belarusian intelligence services.

During the initial incident, armed individuals accompanying migrants from Belarus reportedly threatened Latvian military personnel while attempting to force their way across the border.

Several hours later, masked individuals entered Latvian territory again near the village of Matuliški, stealing surveillance cameras and damaging border monitoring equipment.

Latvia’s State Security Service opened criminal proceedings on October 9 concerning the alleged establishment of a criminal organization intended to commit particularly serious crimes against peace, as well as against Latvia and Ukraine.

The agency declined to provide further details, citing the interests of the ongoing investigation. No official determination linking the group directly to Russian or Belarusian intelligence services has been publicly established.

Earlier, in July 2026, Latvia tightened security around critical energy infrastructure, including a major hydroelectric dam and its largest underground gas storage facility, following intelligence warnings of potential Russian sabotage. Latvian officials also called for additional NATO air defenses and a stronger allied military presence amid growing concerns over hybrid threats.

The government has given nearly 1,000 hijabs to migrants who crossed the Channel in small boats this year, according to reports.

The Mail on Sunday claims internal government documents show officials gave 974 hijabs this year, a religious headdress some Muslim women and girls wear. The hijabs were handed out in clothing packs given to every migrant that reaches the UK via small boats over the Channel, reports suggest.

The Home Office has responded by insisting it has the legal duty to provide them under the government short-term holding facility rules, first established under the Conservative government in 2018, and last amended when Rishi Sunak was Prime Minister.

A spokesperson told the Mail on Sunday: “All arrivals receive a basic dry clothing pack where required. The items available form part of standard welfare arrangements.”

In total, 15,406 packs have been given to migrants as 19,000 small boat crossings have been attempted so far this year, the report says. The breakdown of the packs reflects the fact the vast majority of small boats migrants are male, as 10,694 clothing packs for men were given out.

Only 2,760 packs were given to women, and 773 to boys and 829 for girls. Another 350 babygrows were also handed out.

The packs typically include dry, clean tracksuits to be worn while migrants are placed in 'holding rooms' or 'residential holding rooms' by immigration authorities, and disposable slippers.

Small boats crossings have fallen this year, according to Oxford University. The university’s Migration Observatory says around 36,000 people arrived by small boat in the year to May 2026, 13 percent less than in the same period the year before.

There were 41,000 arrivals in 2025, more than in all other years except 2022, when 45,000 did so.

Full text: Pope Leo XIV’s World Day of Migrants and Refugees message

(OSV News photo/Yara Nardi, Reuters)

(OSV News) — The following is the full text of Pope Leo XIV’s 2026 message for the 112th World Day of Migrants and Refugees celebrated by the Church on Sept. 27.

Even Just One of These Children (cf. Mt 18:10)

Dear brothers and sisters,

Each year the World Day of Migrants and Refugees invites us to turn our attention to different aspects of the complex phenomenon of migration. For this 112th World Day, the theme, “Even just one of these children,” draws our attention to the minors directly involved in the experience of migration and flight, to the care owed to them, and to the Lord’s promise that “whoever receives one such child in my name receives me” (Mk 9:37).
Displaced minors: a complex reality of vulnerability

Minors are the most vulnerable group within the global movements of migration. They are concrete faces, who have unique stories, and call on our conscience. Every year, millions of children and adolescents are forced to leave their homeland because of war, poverty, violence, environmental disasters and other tragedies. Sadly, their number continues to grow. The economic, political and military consequences of this disaster are immense. The suffering of migrant children does not end with their relocation. There are very young children who have lost parents, brothers, sisters and friends, and who have witnessed unspeakable acts of violence. Others, separated from their families for long periods, try to reunite with them while enduring the anguish of separation. There are also minors who make the journey together with their parents, yet are exposed to extreme and traumatic conditions. Finally, we cannot forget the tragic situation of those separated from their parents because of repatriation.

To this already appalling situation are added further tragedies: deaths along migration routes, trafficking and exploitation, the recruitment of minors for use in armed conflicts, sexual violence, forced marriages, and the atrocities they have suffered or witnessed during their travels. Their dignity is trampled upon in countless ways.

In his Message for the 2017 World Day of Migrants and Refugees, dedicated to the theme “Child Migrants, the Vulnerable and the Voiceless”, Pope Francis recalled that migrant children “in a threefold way are defenseless: they are children, they are foreigners, and they have no means to protect themselves. I ask everyone to help those who, for various reasons, are forced to live far from their homeland and are separated from their families.”

Yet, amid so much darkness, the light of solidarity is not lacking. Individuals, families, civil institutions and ecclesial communities choose not to pass by on the other side (cf. Lk 10:29-37). We think of the families who open the doors of their homes in order to restore to these children the warmth of a family hearth; the educators who serve in reception centers; the volunteers and aid workers who each day devote themselves to healing the invisible wounds of these little ones along migration routes and in our cities. They bear witness through their commitment that love can overcome indifference.

Some migrants hate America on arrival

Story by Simon Hankinson, Washington Examiner

Some migrants hate America on arrival

In 1932, the French newspaper La Liberte (rather ungratefully) wrote that “Americans are the only race which passed directly from barbarism to decadence without knowing civilization.”

Today, a substantial subset of immigrants passes from hating America abroad to hating it from within, without any intervening period of loving this great country. That’s bad news.

America’s early colonists, settlers, and immigrants had escaped penury, tyranny, and persecution back home and were grateful to be here. But there is a cohort in the current generation of immigrants who arrive loathing our capitalist democracy and vowing to destroy it.

Actor Robert DeNiro recently said he can’t love America when Trump is president. Really? I never stopped loving America, even when Joe Biden was allowing millions of illegal immigrants to enter our country, suppressing free speech, and governing incompetently.

I came here in the bicentennial year of 1976. The whole country was celebrating and recovering national pride after a decade of domestic division and failure in Vietnam. Notably, the all-time lowest percentage of foreign-born Americans was in 1970, at 4.7%. Today, it’s over 15%.

Some young people think their country is the source of all evil and should be destroyed. Capitalism, the engine of prosperity that built prosperity unimaginable to our founders, is suspect to them. They envy wealth creators rather than wanting to emulate them.

That some of our own kids are Gaza-gazing socialists is sad but not surprising, given the leftist dominance of teachers from kindergarten to college. What’s more aggravating is the people who arrive here already trashing us and trying to change us into the very thing they left to escape.

A few of these America-lasters are from Europe. Supercilious English talk-show host John Oliver comes to mind. His rant about New College Florida, an institution nearly destroyed by woke ideologues but resurrected under Gov. Ron DeSantis, sums up his leftist worldview.
