VATICAN CITY (ChurchMilitant.com) - A Vatican watchdog is claiming in a new book there has been homosexual abuse of underage seminarians at a Vatican-run minor seminary.

Gianluigi Nuzzi, an Italian journalist who was a big part of the 2015 "VatiLeaks II" scandal, has released a new book titled Original Sin.

He alleges there has been homosexual sex abuse in the Vatican's St. Pius X pre-seminary for middle and high schoolers, and includes a letter from a gay ex-seminarian who claims that his roommate, who was underage at the time, was being visited by a priest at night for gay sex.

Nuzzi adds that the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF) was informed in 2014 and claimed no abuse had taken place.

He goes further to speak about the gay lobby in the Vatican (which has been confirmed by both Pope Francis and Pope Benedict XVI) and its continuing influence. In July 2017, reports revealed that Vatican police raided a cocaine-fueled gay orgy at an apartment for top Vatican officials.

Nuzzi also includes more information on his earlier investigations into the Vatican's finances, revealing an egregious mishandling of funds, especially millions of dollars in bank accounts maintained under the names of dead popes like Paul VI and John Paul II.

What became known as VatiLeaks II came out in 2015 after it came to light that Nuzzi and Emiliano Fittipaldi — another journalist — received information from three members of a Vatican finance commission tasked by Pope Francis to investigate the Vatican's finances.

Both Msgr. Lucio Balda and Italian laywoman Francesca Chaouqui were convicted by a Vatican court. Nuzzi and Fittipaldi were put on trial by the same court in 2016 but were not convicted because it was found the Vatican didn't have jurisdiction.

As a result of his investigations, Nuzzi wrote his books Via Crucis and Merchants in the Temple to expose how, as he alleges, Vatican officials care more about money and influence than souls.

Nuzzi addresses scandals like how Peter's Pence, the pope's charity for the poor, only gives $2 out of every $10 to the poor. A Vatican official defended the practice in 2016, asking, "Do we want to bring the amount destined to the poor from two euros to six euros? Out of 4,000 employees, we'd have to fire 400. We prefer not to give the Italian government this additional weight and hold to Pope Francis' recommendation — reform, but in a way in which no one loses their job."

He also compared Pope Francis to Pope Benedict XVI, saying that Francis claimed, "I want to govern as well. I want to do politics. I want to look at the accounts. These unauthorized accounts must not pay out to companies of friends, of chums, of lovers."

He continued, "How come this library has increased in cost from 100 to 200? Who has stolen that money? Be careful about the investments."
