Chapter 1
Dec 30, 2024
All things were made by him and without him was not anything made that was made. Jn. 1:3.
Introduction
This question ‘Who is Jesus?’ might immediately raise questions in people’s minds, such as: “don’t we already know who Jesus is?” After all, there is no other name, that is so widely known throughout the entire world, than the name of Jesus. Furthermore, there is no other person, that has ever lived, that has been written about more than Jesus. Even Hollywood makes movies about Jesus on a regular basis. Everyone knows who Jesus is. But is recognition the same as knowledge and is knowledge the same as understanding? We live in an age of information highways, that take us on journeys with uncertain outcomes and unknown destinations. Is it possible that the more we know the less we understand?
We are living in a secular, post-Christian world, where knowledge about Jesus is not valued as it formerly was, and the knowledge that we once had about Jesus is being lost. In addition, the knowledge that we do have about Jesus, is being obfuscated, diminished, and mis-represented. Truly, the light is waning, and the darkness is proliferating everywhere. This is nothing new, it has happened before, the prophet Hosea, lamented: “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge” (Hos. 4:6) - truly, knowledge is power. The apostle Paul tells us that, “the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power (1 Cor. 4:20). This kingdom of God of power begins with Jesus and knowing who He is.
One of the first things we need to know about Jesus, is that there is a lot to know about Him. Just consider one thing about Him - His names and titles. These are a few of the names and titles that we find in the New Testament:
‘Messiah’ – ‘The Word’ - ‘Immanuel’ – ‘The Redeemer’ – ‘Lamb of God’ – ‘Second Adam’ – ‘Son of David’ – ‘High Priest’ – ‘King of Kings.’
All these names and titles have something to say about Jesus, either about him personally or about his mission. These are all names and titles that New Testament authors have applied to Jesus. Here are some more that Jesus applied to Himself:
‘Light of the World’ – ‘Bread of Life’ – ‘Good Shepherd’ – ‘The Judge’ – ‘The True Vine’ – ‘The Door’ – ‘The Way’ – ‘The Truth’ – ‘The Life’ – ‘The Resurrection’ – ‘Lord and Master’ – ‘Alpha and Omega.’
And we not only find such a plethora of names and titles in the New Testament, but we find them in the Old Testament too, such as these:
‘Wonderful’ – ‘Counsellor’ – ‘Mighty God’ – ‘Everlasting Father’ – ‘Prince of Peace’ – ‘Sun of Righteousness’ – ‘Suffering Servant’ – ‘Holy One.’
The disciples of Christ, who knew him best, even they, could not comprehend who Jesus really is. When Jesus stilled the water on Galilee their reaction was: “What manner of man is this!” (Matt. 8:27). The fact is, the truth about Jesus, is broad, deep, high and complex. And we cannot get much higher than understanding that Jesus is the Creator.
All things were made by Him
The Apostle John tells us, that the reason he wrote his Gospel was to prove that Jesus is the Son of God (see Jn. 20:31). And he starts his account of the Son of God, by telling us that one of the great proofs that Jesus is the Son of God, is that Jesus is also the Creator:
All things were made by him (Jesus); and without him was not anything made that was made. Jn. 1:3.
Paul tells us the same thing:
For of Him, and through Him, and to Him, are all things: to whom be glory or ever. Amen. Rom. 11:36.
And again, Paul wrote:
For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him. Col. 1:16.
For some Christians this comes as a surprise, that Jesus is the Creator. They say, “What about the Father. I thought the Father was the Creator?” Well, he was, the Father was not excluded in the act of creation. Paul reveals the Father’s role:
And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ. Eph. 3:9.
So we see the Father created, but he did it through Jesus. Once again, we see the same thing taught in Hebrews:
God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds. Heb. 1:1, 2.
We have an interesting little piece of information here in this verse, notice that the word ‘world’ is plural not the singular. We could have an indication here that Jesus not only created this world but other worlds - in other words, it is highly probable that there are other planets in the universe that are inhabited with heavenly beings - we might not be alone.
The creation of this world was a joint project, even the Holy Spirit was involved. The creation story in Genesis tells us:
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Gen. 1:2.
And we also have this verse from Genesis:
Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. Gen. 1:26.
We are not given the specific dynamics between the members of the Godhead, when they created the world. But one thing is clear, Jesus did the actual creation. Jesus Himself, testifies that He is the beginning and the source of creation:
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty… the beginning [source, origin] of the creation of God. Rev. 1:8, 3:14.
Jesus took the initiative; Jesus began the work of creation. Perhaps we could understand it this way: imagine the board of a corporation, and they plan a project together, then one member of the board is tasked with the actual implementation of the project. With the Bible verses that we have, we can conclude that Jesus was given the responsibility for the creation of the world.
Jesus the Creator and Jesus the Saviour
There are several important reasons why we should believe that Jesus is our Creator. Firstly, if Jesus is our Creator, then this must mean that the Creator is also our Saviour. It is an enormous thing to realise that to save us, the Creator would humble himself to the point of becoming a part of his own creation. Truly we are, “bought with a price” (1 Cor. 6:20), and we will probably never understand the full cost of the price. Why is it that the Creator is prepared to pay the price? It is because He is taking responsibility for what He created. The plan of salvation is the work of the Creator restoring or re-creating that which was lost – humanity was in a hopeless, lost condition:
They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Ps. 14:3.
But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags. Isa. 64:6.
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Rom. 3:23.
What did Jesus say, when he finished his work of creation?
And God saw everything that he had made, and behold it was very good. Gen. 1:31.
But now it is no longer good. A breach has been made in the perfect work of creation, but the Creator is going to fix it - so that, it comes back to its original perfection. This necessitates a work of redemption for mankind, a plan of salvation – a reparation of the breech. Therefore, there must eventually be a physical restoration – a re-creation - and that has been promised:
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth. Rev. 21:1.
And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. Rev. 21:5.
However, before the physical restoration there must, of necessity, be a spiritual restoration. What did Jesus say must take place in order for us to be saved. This is the only time that he used the word ‘must’ in the context of salvation. Incidentally, what does the word ‘must’ mean? That which is essential, right! So, what is it that is essential for our salvation, according to the One who created us?
Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. Jn. 3:5-7.
Being born again, is not referring to a simple intellectual acknowledgment of Christ and/or a simple belief in Christ. This is referring to a dynamic and powerful change in the believer’s life. It is spiritual regeneration and restoration from the depths of sin and degradation. And it is available now. Physical restoration is promised in the future, but spiritual restoration is promised now:
Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Cor. 5:17.
And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him. Col. 3:10.
So, the first important point to note about Jesus being the Creator, is the fact that, as the Creator, he has taken the responsibility to regenerate to repair and to restore, that which has gone wrong with His creation. Do not the parents take responsibility for what their children do? If a child causes damage to a third party, who pays? The parents who created the child do! In the same manner Jesus is paying the price to restore what He created.
Jesus and Christianity
A second important reason for recognising Jesus as the Creator, is because, if it was acknowledged that Jesus is the Creator, then it would naturally follow that the whole world would be Christian. And if this most important truth was known it would naturally follow that there could be no place for false religion. How so? - you may ask - well think it through: if Jesus created everything, then everything else that claims for itself the attributes of divinity, such as omnipotence, then these claims must be false. And this is indeed the very argument that the Bible makes:
For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the LORD made the heavens. Ps. 96:5.
For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD and there is none else. Isa. 40:19.
In other words, if there were other gods I would know, says the Lord, because I made everything and I did not make any gods ‘there is none else’ I am the only God. And therefore, if there are other so-called gods then mankind must have created these gods themselves. And mankind making their own gods is exactly what God accuses us of:
The workman melteth a graven image, and the goldsmith spreadeth it over with gold, and casteth silver chains. He that is so impoverished that he hath no oblation chooseth a tree that will not rot; he seeketh unto him a cunning workman to prepare a graven image, that shall not be moved. Isa. 40:20.
Mankind becomes Foolish
The Lord’s response to man making his own gods and worshipping them is for the one and only true God to question mankind’s sanity:
Have ye not known? Have ye not heard? Hath it not been told you from the beginning? Have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth? Isa. 40:21.
In other words, there is a lack of knowledge about these things. God has always invited mankind to engage with Him, He says, “Come let us reason together…” (Isa. 1:18). God initiates the reasoning process, by asking us pertinent questions:
To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? Saith the Holy One. Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things?
That bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth. Isa. 40: 25, 26.
Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? There is no searching of his understanding. Isa. 40:28.
The Lord is saying here in these verses that creation has his fingerprints all over it. Creation comes with an inbuilt signature, a divine code if you will. In fact, the Bible tells us that this inbuilt signature is so obvious that we are without excuse for not seeing and understanding it:
For, ever since the creation of the world His invisible nature and attributes, that is, His eternal power and divinity, have been intelligible and clearly discernible in and through the things that have been made (his handiworks). So (men) are without excuse [altogether without any defence or justification]. Rom. 1:20. Amplified Bible.
Therefore, anything that poses another theory for our origins is foolishness:
Because that, when they knew not God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise they became fools. Rom. 1:21, 22.
Such foolishness has consequences, and psychiatrists have a name for it, they call it cognitive dissonance, which is a fancy term for refusing to believe the obvious.
And changed the glory of God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things. Rom. 1:23.
Cognitive dissonance has been the standard ‘go too’ psychiatric condition of mankind for millennia. When Isaiah was struggling to bring God’s people back to a semblance of reality, God spoke through Isaiah, and gave us a description of Old Testament cognitive dissonance:
For this is a rebellious people, lying sons, Sons who refuse to listen to the law and instruction of the Lord; Who say to the seers, “You must not see visions from God”; And to the prophets, “You must not prophesy to us what is right! Speak to us pleasant things and smooth words, Prophesy [deceitful] illusions [that we will enjoy]. “Get out of the [true] way, turn aside from the path [of God], Stop bothering us with the Holy One of Israel.” Isa. 30:9-11. Amplified Bible.
People do not like hearing the TRUTH about God, because it disturbs them. They prefer to hear lies and ‘smooth thing’ because these things do not disturb them. People instinctively know, that if they acknowledged God as the Creator and the TRUTH about God, then that would make them accountable to Him. They would no longer be ‘free’ to believe whatever they wanted and do whatever they wanted. People instinctively know, that if they acknowledge God as their Creator, then they would have to change their lives, and they do not want to change.
The Consequences of Cognitive Dissonance
Cognitive dissonance was very prevalent in the time of Christ – cognitive dissonance was the reason why the people could not ‘see’ the TRUTH about Jesus, so Jesus told the suffers of cognitive dissonance a parable about it:
And he spake also a parable unto them… And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish. But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved. No man also having drunk old wine straightway desireth new: for he saith, The old is better. Lu. 5:36-39.
In other words, new ideas cannot be put into old minds, because people prefer the ideas about reality that they already have – they only like ‘old wine’ – ‘new wine’ is too disturbing – in the words of a famous Hollywood movie scene - “You cannot handle the TRUTH!” The resistance to the TRUTH is so potent, that the people in Isaiah’s time, put Isaiah in a hollow log and sawed the log in half.
As those in the grip of cognitive dissonance, descend on a downward spiral preferring lies to truth, one of God’s prominent universal principles begins to ‘kick in’- namely, “we reap what we sow” (Gal.6:7). Cognitive dissonance has consequences:
Wherefore, God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves. Rom. 1:24.
Give these words their due weight - recognise what is being said here - God eventually gives up on those who refuse to acknowledge him as their Creator. And when God gives up on such, they lose their moral compass, and that is because they feel no restraint. If there is no Creator there is no one to be accountable too, so everything becomes relative, and the fundamental principle of relative ideology is: ‘If it feels good do it’ - but we are still not finished with the consequences:
Who changed the truth of God into a lie and worshipped the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. Rom. 1:25.
So, now that we no longer acknowledge the creation of God everything about God becomes a lie. Collectively, we, mankind, are living in a cognitive dissonance wasteland. A wilderness where reality becomes the lie, and the lie becomes the truth. Of course, the collective cognitive dissonance voice will howl with fury over such a statement, but we only have to look at the theory of evolution to know that collective cognitive dissonance is the ‘smooth thing’ that pervades all mankind, because it enables all its adherents to deny the existence of God, by promoting an alternative theory of creation.
Science confirms the Creator
In Isaiah’s time the people preferred lies and ‘smooth things’ and they were prepared to kill in order to preserve themselves from the TRUTH and maintain themselves in their ‘comfortable’ cognitive dissonance. The apostle Paul tells as that this cognitive dissonance attitude was still prevalent in his time and would persist until the end of time:
Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. Acts 20:30.
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 2 Tim. 3, 4.
But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. 2 Pet. 2:1, 2.
The greatest fable of all, that is being taught in modern times, is that of evolution. It is commonly and persistently taught by those, preaching ‘smooth things’ that science has refuted creation, and that there is no God, because mankind and all living creatures began miraculously by accident, in a swamp millions and billions of years ago. However, even the die-hard evolutionists have begun to question the accepted dogma, because modern day science is refuting their own man-made myth about origins.
In this modern age of knowledge, scientists are looking into their microscopes, and they are seeing the most intricate and exquisite design at the micro level. At the same time other scientists are looking through their telescopes at the macro level and they are seeing the same wonders - exquisite details - at extraordinary distances. At the present time science is focused on a mysterious problem, they don’t know what sustains or upholds the universe. And because they do not understand it, they call it dark, dark matter and dark energy:
The universe is made up of dark matter and dark energy, and we don’t know what either of them is. Saul Permutter, American astrophysicist.
The most profound mystery in all of science. Michael S. Turner, cosmologist, University of Chicago.
To be precise, scientists believe that the universe is made up of 68% dark energy, 27% dark matter, and 5% normal matter. This means that they believe only 5% of the total matter in the universe is visible - 95% is invisible, unknown and not measurable. If scientists would only accept the facts and not be blinded by collective cognitive dissonance they would come to the same conclusions as Albert Einstein who courageously said: “The more I study science the more I believe in God.”
Other scientists are finally catching up to Einstein, Robert Jastrow was an imminent scientist who worked for NASA. Robert Jastrow called himself an agnostic. But he was an honest agnostic - towards the end of all his scientific research he wrote:
Now we see how the astronomical evidence supports the biblical view of the origin of the world. The details differ, but the essential elements in the astronomical and biblical accounts of Genesis are the same: the chain of events leading to man commenced suddenly and sharply at a definite moment in time, in a flash of light and energy. Robert Jastrow, ‘God and the Astronomers’ (W. W. Norton & Company, New York, (1978), p. 14.
And he also wrote:
For the scientist who has lived by his faith in the power of reason, the story ends like a bad dream. He has scaled the mountain of ignorance; he is about to conquer the highest peak; as he pulls himself over the final rock, he is greeted by a band of theologians who have been sitting there for centuries. Ibid. p. 116.
Jastrow, also recognises the cognitive dissonance problem pervading modern science:
If he (the scientist), really examined the implications (the evidence for creation), he would be traumatized. As usual when faced with trauma, the mind reacts by ignoring the implications. Ibid. chapter 6.
The scientific evidence, for Jastrow, points to a supernatural creation:
That there are what I or anyone would call supernatural forces at work is now, I think a scientifically proven fact. Robert Jastrow, Christianity Today, August 6, 1982.
Think about that for a moment, according to this former NASA scientist, the supernatural creation of Christ is now a proven scientific fact. Remember what Einstein said: “The more I study science the more I believe in God” and this is exactly what the Bible told us in Romans - the scientific evidence for creation is self-evident. Jastrow made one more important point in his Christianity Today interview:
Astronomers now find they have painted themselves into a corner because they have proven, by their own methods, that the world began abruptly in an act of creation to which you can trace the seeds of every star, every planet, every living thing in this cosmos and on the earth. And they have found that all this happened as a product of forces they cannot hope to discover. Ibid.
In other words, science can actually prove a creation, but it can never discover how it happened. Another scientist, Dr. Hugh Ross, agrees that science confirms the Bible, and the creation story found there, and he also states that science repudiates all other explanations for our existence:
Recent scientific discoveries authenticate the Bible, but that they also discredit all the other major religious/theological systems. For example, reincarnation is scientifically impossible. Dr Hugh Ross, video interview, ‘Science and Biblical Faith are Allies not Enemies’ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GauQ0gSjSHw
We can confidently believe in the Biblical account of creation and still be scientific, because science itself has proven that the universe came into existence supernaturally in a moment of time.
Evolution is Political Ideology
However, if there are prominent scientists questioning the so-called scientific consensus on our origins, then a question about their colleagues naturally arises. And the question is this: if prominent scientists are quitting the anti-creation camp why are the majority of their colleagues still actively promoting evolution and denigrating creation? The answer to that question is because the theory of evolution is not about science at all it’s about politics and it always has been about politics and ideology. Evolution is all about promoting a philosophy and an agenda that is anti-scientific (even though it claims to be scientific) and anti-Christian. And we do not have to dig very deep to prove this, we only need to look at the book that is considered to be the beginning of the theory, by Charles Darwin. Let us begin with a revealing quotation from an author who has studied ‘Origin of the Species:’
Now, it is easy to show that Darwinism, one of the pillars of modern biology, is nothing but a kind of cult, a cult religion. I am not exaggerating. It has no scientific validity whatsoever. Darwin’s so-called theory of evolution is based on absurdly irrational propositions, which did not come from scientific observations, but were artificially introduced from the outside, for political-ideological reasons. Jonathan Tennenbaum, Summer Academy of the Schiller Institute, Germany, Aug. 18, 2001.
Jonathan Tennenbaum goes on to prove that there is a political/ideological agenda behind the publication of this book, simply by looking at the subtitle of Darwin’s book:
If you find this hard to believe, just have a close look at Charles Darwin's classic work, first published in 1859, usually known as Origin of the Species. Actually, the full title is more ominous: Origin of the Species by Means of Natural Selection or the Preservation of the Favoured Races. Ibid.
Imagine if someone was to publish or present a theory today, about ‘preserving the favoured races’ - we would never hear the end of it - such a person would be hounded out of the hallowed halls of academia. It would simply not be permitted, to talk about favoured races, let alone publish books about it. We have forgotten what the original intention with evolution was – it was an attempt to downgrade some races of mankind and elevate others. When will the cancel culture cultists, who are obsessed with anything that ‘smells’ of racism discover this and cancel Charles Darwin – pull him off his pedestals erected everywhere – and hound all those who worship at his shrine out of academia, schools, media and governments?
Evolution and Over-population
Darwin himself freely admitted that the inspiration for his theory came from someone else; Jonathan Tennenbaum reveals the source of Darwin’s theory:
As Darwin himself states very clearly, the essential idea for this theory came from Thomas Malthus. Ibid.
So, who was Thomas Malthus? Thomas Malthus is famous for just one thing, his essay on the principle of population, published in 1798. Malthus was the first to sound the alarm about the supposed dangers of over population. For example, from his essay we get this quotation:
The power of population is indefinitely greater than the power in the earth to produce subsistence for man. Thomas Malthus, An Essay on the Principle of Population, p. 13.
This is where the original idea, that the world was soon going to be over-populated came from. Darwin’s theory added enough pseudo-science to the theory of over-population to justify the practice of what came to be known as eugenics.
Evolution + Overpopulation = Eugenics
Charles Darwin had a cousin called Francis Dalton. Dalton took Darwin’s theory of evolution, mixed it with Malthus’ theory of over-population and created a frankenstein monster which he called eugenics. The reason why we don’t know much about eugenics, is because it is the scandal of the early 20th century, which no one wants to acknowledge or talk about anymore. However, in the later part of the 19th century and the early 20th century eugenics was all the rage. At that time eugenics occupied the same place in the scientific community (and the world at large) that global warming or climate change does today. Eugenics was all about applying science to race purity. It was about scientific management of the population of the world. It was about limiting or eliminating unwanted racial features in humanity and promoting ‘desirable’ racial features.
One does not need to think hard and long about how people could come to believe and promote such things - it is simply applied logic. If evolution is true - if progress is made by a process of natural selection - then let’s give the process a helping hand - we can be the managers and designers of our own destiny. If natural selection is true, we can do the selecting, we can create a super race of men. This madness was most prominent in Britain, the United States and Germany. And of course, it was in Nazi Germany, that this pseudo-scientific virus bloomed into the atrocities committed under that regime - and this is why nobody talks about eugenics anymore.
However, even though eugenics has been discredited, it has not disappeared - it is simply lying dormant in the shadows. Just as Nazism has not disappeared, the philosophy that inspired Nazism has not disappeared. Scientific endeavours based on evolution theory, are just as prevalent today, and even more so than the past. For example, modern scientific pursuits in the areas of cloning, genetically modified organisms, artificial intelligence and trans humanism are all dependent on the theory of evolution being true to justify their existence. So today, we not only have political and ideological reasons for the promotion of evolution, but we also now have powerful commercial interests heavily invested in the continuation of the myth of evolution. Thus, the whole world is caught up in a massive case of cognitive dissonance. This state of deception was prophesied a long time ago:
…and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 2 Tim. 4:4.
This fastidious clinging to a false theory about origins is a classic example of cognitive dissonance at work, and it is applicable to the situation we have today. In the history of mankind, we have never had so much education, and yet we have never been more foolish. Modern education has actively and purposely denied the creation of Christ and activily punishes those who dare to challenge its propaganda - which the Bible calls false science - Paul wrote to his understudy Timothy:
O Timothy keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane vain babblings and oppositions of science falsely so called. 1 Tim. 6:20.
The theory of evolution is held out to all and sundry as this monolithic unassailable scientific certainty, when in actual fact it is a house of cards, and the house is beginning to tumble down - and it is tumbling down from within. And it is tumbling down from within because the scientists themselves, in the face of mounting evidence, cannot maintain the charade any longer. If we choose to follow the collective cognitive dissonance of society in general, we are in effect the authors of our own destruction. We are like an electrical appliance that reaches over and pulls the plug out of its socket, thus cutting off the source of its power and life - this is why the Bible says: “The fool says in his heart there is no God” (Ps. 14:1).
Conclusion
The Bible speaks about mysteries that have been hidden for ages but are now revealed (see Col. 1:25-27; Dan. 2:22; Matt. 13:11; 1 Cor. 2:9, 10; Eph. 1:9, 10, 3:3-5). These ‘mysteries’ when understood reveal to mankind that there is a heavenly ‘science’ given to us to study. This science we can call the ‘science of salvation.’ In order to obfuscate and obscure this ‘heavenly science’ mankind has created a counterfeit science that he is more comfortable with. Evolution preaches the ‘smooth things’ that enables mankind to escape being accountable to God.
If we manage to escape the grip of collective cognitive dissonance, that the false science of mankind fosters, we will acknowledge that true science reveals a creation and a Creator - and Jesus is not only the Creator of everything - but He is also actively sustaining what He created (see Col. 1:17; Heb. 1:3). Without Jesus the universe would fly apart - it is because of Jesus the sun comes up in the morning and goes down in the evening. This is why Jesus said, “Without me you can do nothing” (Jn. 15:5) - this is why He said He had come so that we “might have life” (Jn. 10:10) – “In Him we live and move and have our being” (Acts 17:28) - that is, who Jesus is.
