NEW ORLEANS -- Investigators with the Louisiana Attorney General's Office raided the New Orleans ACORN office Friday in connection with embezzlement and tax fraud allegations.
Assistant Attorney General David Caldwell said the office got a tip that some employee computers may be missing. Investigators executed a search warrant and hauled off laptops and hard drives to make copies of information stored on the computers.
Caldwell said the machines would be returned at a later date.
ACORN officials had no comment Friday afternoon.
