'Providentially hindered': American pastor stranded in Jamaica amid 15-day water-only fast

By Ryan Foley, Christian Post Reporter Thursday, October 30, 2025

Pastor Bill Devlin helps residents of Jamaica clean up after Hurricane Melissa tore through the island nation, Oct. 29, 2025. | Bill Devlin

An American pastor stranded in Jamaica by Hurricane Melissa is currently in the middle of a 15-day fast and is encouraging others to fast in prayer for those impacted by the storm that has left hundreds of thousands without power and dozens dead across the Caribbean.

Pastor Bill Devlin — a veteran of the Vietnam War and Purple Heart recipient who serves as the outreach pastor for Infinity Bible Church in Bronx, New York, and runs the ministries REDEEM! and Widows and Orphans — first arrived in Jamaica on Oct. 23 to deliver a speech at a pro-life Christian conference and officiated a wedding for "a brother in Jesus that has traveled the world" with him on Sunday.

After the wedding, Devlin learned that the airports were closed and flights were canceled in anticipation of Hurricane Melissa.

"I was providentially hindered here for a reason," Devlin insisted. "I'm just waiting on God to direct my steps at this point."

Melissa made landfall as a Category 5 storm in Jamaica on Tuesday and, as of Thursday morning, is now a Category 2 storm moving away from the Bahamas toward Bermuda. At least 30 people have been killed across Jamaica, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic, with about two dozen killed by an overflowing river in Haiti. The storm caused widespread power outages, road blockages and communications issues.

From "No King, No Pope" to a King and Pope united in prayer.

------------------------------------------------------------------King George III---------------------------------          -------        Pope Pius VI

 "No King, No Pope"

"No king, no pope" is a political slogan from the American Revolution, used by crowds chanting against British monarchy and the Catholic Church, specifically referencing the colonists' aversion to both a monarch and a foreign, papal authority. It became a rallying cry for American independence, symbolizing the rejection of both the British crown and Catholic influence in favor of a new, independent, and largely Protestant nation.

Meaning and context

"No King!": Refers to the American Revolution's rejection of British rule. The phrase directly opposes the power of the monarchy, which was seen as oppressive by the colonists.

"No Popery!": Represents the anti-Catholic sentiment prevalent at the time, particularly in Protestant New England. The Catholic Church was viewed as a foreign and authoritarian power that threatened to undermine their Protestant liberties.

Combined message: The slogan, famously chanted as "No King, No Popery!", powerfully links the rejection of British monarchy with the rejection of what was perceived as the Pope's influence. This combined message served as a potent, unified call to arms for the revolutionary cause.

Historical significance

Historical precedent: The slogan's roots can be traced back to earlier anti-authoritarian sentiments, such as the public commemoration of "Pope's Day" in colonial America, where effigies of the Pope were burned to protest both religious and political authority.

Evolution of the slogan: Over time, the anti-Catholic sentiment evolved from a protest against English nationalism to a powerful force for American identity and revolutionary action, directing its energy against the British policies and ultimately the monarchy itself.

Modern relevance: While not as frequently used today, the phrase remains a significant part of American revolutionary history, representing the foundational principles of self-governance and religious freedom that defined the new nation.

Catholic statues thrust a Massachusetts city into a national religious liberty debate

Catholic statues thrust a Massachusetts city into a national religious liberty debate

Updated October 28, 2025 12:00 p.m. ET

Key Points

  • More than a dozen Quincy, Massachusetts, residents joined a lawsuit alleging that the city was violating religious neutrality as outlined in the state constitution.
  • The Becket Fund, which successfully represented Hobby Lobby in a landmark Supreme Court case a decade ago, is representing the city in the case.
  • The Supreme Court has previously ruled in favor of government entities displaying explicitly Christian objects in cases where they identified a secular purpose outweighing the religious undertones.

A showdown over Catholic statues on a public building in a Massachusetts city represents yet another fight in a national conversation about the separation of church and state.

Quincy Mayor Thomas Koch commissioned statues of St. Michael and St. Florian, the patron saints of police and firefighters, to adorn its new police headquarters. But more than a dozen residents are suing Koch, alleging that the city is violating religious neutrality as outlined in the state constitution.

A judge granted a preliminary injunction in mid-October, barring the statues from being installed as litigation continues.

Koch told The Patriot Ledger, part of the USA TODAY Network, that the city would be appealing the ruling.

"We chose the statues of Michael and Florian to honor Quincy’s first responders, not to promote any religion," Koch said. "These figures are recognized symbols of courage and sacrifice in police and fire communities across the world.”

Meet Gregory Bovino, the Border Patrol Chief in Charge of Trump’s Chicago Crackdown: ‘No Sanctuary Here’

CNN | October 8, 2025, 1:11 pm

U.S. Border Patrol Chief Greg Bovino is interviewed at CNN’s bureau in Chicago on Oct. 7, 2025. (Mustafah Hussain for CNN via CNN Newsource)

Chicago (CNN) — The heavily armed agents carrying out President Donald Trump’s aggressive immigration enforcement push in Chicago are often masked. The man leading them is not.

Nearly three decades into his career with the US Border Patrol, Gregory Bovino has become the on-the-ground face of Trump’s effort to surge federal law enforcement into blue states and cities regardless of whether local officials want them there — first in Los Angeles, now in Chicago, with other possible cities on deck.

But if he and his officers are an unwelcome presence or face interference from protesters, Bovino said he is not dissuaded.

“We’re going to carry out that mission,” Bovino said in an interview with CNN in Chicago on Tuesday. “And that’s paramount, or else we shouldn’t be here. We’re going to carry that mission out.”

He added that if “someone steps in the way, then … that may not work out well for them, and if we need to effect an arrest of a U.S. citizen or anyone else, then we’ll do that.”

Local officials have described Bovino as leading a branch of law enforcement which deploys tactics that are frighteningly authoritarian and which has been styled into Trump’s own personal police force, used by the president as a cudgel against Democrat-led localities and the people — citizens and noncitizens alike — who live in them.

“I refuse to let Trump, Noem and Bovino continue on this march toward autocracy,” Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker said Monday. “Their plan all along has been to cause chaos, and then they can use that chaos to consolidate Trump’s power.”

Multiculturalism Is A Globalist Weapon And You’re Not Allowed To Protect Yourself

October 23, 2025

By Brandon Smith

If you were alive to witness the events of 9/11, you probably remember the sudden emergence of the “Coexist” bumper stickers and t-shirts across the US after the tragedy. The intended message being that different cultures must be “tolerant” of each other and live in harmony. If you caught yourself with a twinge of visible pain in your face every time you saw this slogan, you were not alone.

Maybe it’s a subconscious aversion to hippies and their body odor, but I think the distaste for the message goes much deeper. It’s built into the DNA of every human being – It’s a part of our genetic memory. Every culture has an inherent drive to protect itself from competing cultures and ideologies.

We have learned over thousands of generations that culture is not just social expression, it is a carefully crafted fortress protecting us from being invaded and destroyed by hostile forces seeking to take what we have created. Homogeneous culture helps to maintain the values that keep our societies safe, industrious and stable.

Interestingly, the person who first created the “Coexist” artwork, a Polish man named Piotr Młodożeniec, was a staunch proponent of Polish Independence from the Soviet Union. The guy promoted Coexistence, but even he couldn’t tolerate the communists. It would seem that some ideals are mutually exclusive. Some spaces cannot be shared by certain beliefs.

For generations, Americans have believed the First Amendment was untouchable — the cornerstone of our Republic.

But today, that freedom is under attack. Behind closed doors, government agencies, Big Tech, universities, and NGOs built a powerful system to control what citizens can say, hear, and believe.

This is not speculation. It is a documented reality — and it strikes at the heart of our liberty.

God Complex: The Rise of America’s Censorship Machine is a Big Picture Originals documentary that reveals how this system came to be, how it operates, and why every American who values freedom must pay attention.

Because when free speech is silenced, the truth disappears — and with it, every other right we hold dear.

Letter to the King

The Protestant Truth Society has written to His Majesty King Charles III in relation to the King’s recent visit to Rome and the Vatican.

24th October 2025

Sir,

I am writing on behalf of the Protestant Truth Society to express our grave concern, as faithful and loyal Protestants, at your Majesty’s visit to the Vatican.

At your coronation your Majesty made a promise before God to maintain the Protestant Reformed Religion. A promise made before God is a matter of the utmost importance. This visit to the Vatican is a breach of that promise. Article 31 of the Church of England, of which you are, under God, Supreme Governor, makes plain that the centraldoctrine of the Church of Rome, the mass, is a ‘blasphemous deceit and a dangerous fable’. The Church of Rome is in error on the sacraments and on the great central issue of salvation, justification. The apostle Paul in his letter to the Romans declares that we are ‘justified by faith without the deeds of the law’ – Romans 3:28. Article 11 states ‘that we are justified by faith only is a most wholesome doctrine and very full of comfort’. The Westminster Confession of the Church of Scotland states that ‘faith is the alone instrument of justification’. The Church of Rome denies this great truth.

Today's Show: PRAYER BANNED IN AUSTRALIA

Chris discusses the ban on Christian prayer -- when praying for any members of the LGBT community -- in a law that has gone into effect in April of this year. The law is part of the New South Wales Conversion Practices Ban Act of 2024, and includes: "... performing a ritual, such as an exorcism or prayer-based practice to change or suppress someone’s sexual orientation or gender identity." The new law was challenged but then was "reaffirmed" by Attorney General Michael Daley in Sept. 2025. “Some prayers are now illegal in NSW,” said Lyle Shelton, who is the national director of the Family First Australia political party. He went on to say that: “If a mum, dad, pastor, or friend prays with someone who asks for help to follow God’s word, they could face sanction.” Since laws and doctrines have a way of creeping from places like Australia and the U.K. across the water and into the United States ... could this insanity one day be empowered in America? We discuss.

Cuba Captures Fugitive Chinese National Accused of Running Fentanyl Network Into the U.S.

Story by Pedro Camacho

Alleged Chinese fentanyl kingpin Zhi Dong Zhang has been arrested by Cuba after escaping custody in Mexico back in July© Mexican government

Cuban authorities have detained a Chinese national accused by the United States of running an international fentanyl and cocaine trafficking network after his escape from custody in Mexico earlier this year, according to Mexican security officials.

Cuba has not issued an official statement on Zhang's detention or on whether it intends to extradite him to Mexico or the United States.

The fugitive, identified as Zhi Dong Zhang and also known as "Brother Wang," had been sought by U.S. authorities on charges of drug trafficking and money laundering, as Al Jazeera reports.

Zhang was first indicted in federal court in Atlanta in 2022, accused of directing a transnational network that trafficked large quantities of cocaine and fentanyl into the United States through distribution hubs in Atlanta and Los Angeles. Prosecutors allege millions of dollars in drug proceeds were collected in U.S. stash houses and transferred to accounts Zhang could access from Mexico.

Mexican authorities arrested Zhang in Mexico City in October 2024 at the request of the U.S. government. A judge later granted him house arrest, from which he escaped in July 2025 despite being under military guard.

Security officials quoted by El País described Zhang as "a major international money laundering operator" who established "connections with other cartels for the transfer of fentanyl from China to Central America, South America, Europe, and the United States." He is alleged to have maintained ties with Mexico's Sinaloa and Jalisco New Generation cartels.

The case has unfolded amid growing tensions between Washington, Mexico, and China over the trafficking of fentanyl, a synthetic opioid estimated to be 50 times more potent than heroin and responsible for tens of thousands of overdose deaths in the United States each year.

While Mexico has been the primary transit route for the drug, U.S. officials have increasingly turned their attention to China-based suppliers of precursor chemicals.

Giorgia Meloni is driving a push in the EU to transform migration laws - Remo Casilli/Reuters

Giorgia Meloni has told EU leaders to prepare for a first political debate on reforming the European Convention on Human Rights in the “coming months”, in what would be a major step forward towards changing the international rules on migration.

The Italian prime minister spoke to heads of state and government before a European Council summit meeting in Brussels on Thursday morning.

The Telegraph understands she set out a plan to reform the ECHR so that it can meet modern-day challenges over illegal immigration, such as people smuggling gangs.

It should lead to a first political debate on reforms in the Council of Europe, which is based in Strasbourg and is not an EU body but a larger human rights watchdog.

Evangelical body in the Philippines calls for national week of repentance following government corruption scandal

By Ellen Gabisay Oct 23, 2025 09:33 EDT

Protesters carry a large banner during the “Trillion Peso March” rally, calling for government accountability and transparency in the use of public funds.

The Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches (PCEC), together with allied groups, has called for a national week of repentance, prayer, and fasting to “heal corruption” in the Philippines — a move that builds on recent church-led actions against large-scale graft in infrastructure and flood-control projects.

In a letter, PCEC urged all Filipinos to unite from October 25 to 30 in seeking moral renewal, humble leadership, and just governance. Their statement calls on believers to pray for righteous leaders, reject complicity in wrongdoing, and restore the nation’s dignity.

This latest initiative comes amid mounting criticism by faith leaders of an alleged multi-billion-peso corruption scandal involving flood-control and infrastructure projects. In September, a coalition of Christian and Catholic church leaders denounced the discovery of ghost projects, padded budgets, and gross misallocation of funds, calling the scandal a “moral abomination.”

Just days later, organizers of the so-called “Trillion Peso March” hailed the mass prayer rally in Manila as a divine moment, saying some 70,000 citizens responded in outrage over government spending failures and lack of accountability.

Litigious James an AI Overview

AI Overview

"Litigious James" refers to New York Attorney General Letitia James, known for her extensive use of lawsuits to challenge policies and prosecute individuals, particularly Donald Trump. She has recently been indicted on federal charges of bank fraud and making false statements to a financial institution related to a mortgage for her niece. James denies wrongdoing and asserts the indictment is a politically motivated attack stemming from her lawsuit against Trump and his company.

Background
Letitia James has a history of being a litigious figure, suing the Trump administration multiple times during its first term on issues like immigration and the environment. She is also well-known for successfully suing the Trump Organization for business fraud.

Recent Indictment:
  • A federal grand jury in Virginia indicted her on two felony charges: bank fraud and making false statements to a financial institution.
  • The charges stem from a 2020 mortgage for her niece's home.
  • James denies any wrongdoing, stating she made an error while filling out a form and that the charges are baseless.

Claim of Political Motivation:
  • James claims the indictment is a result of political retribution from Donald Trump, who she notes had publicly called for her to be charged.
  • She points to the timing of the indictment shortly after her office successfully brought a civil fraud case against him, resulting in a significant penalty against him and his company, notes CNBC.

As It Was In The Days Of Noah

“But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”

Matthew 24:37-39

“The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.”

Genesis 6:11-12

April 20, 1999, is often regarded as one of the most consequential days in American history. On this fateful day, two armed students entered Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado, and went on a shooting rampage that claimed the lives of twelve students and one teacher before taking their own lives. I was fifteen years old when this attack occurred, and I distinctly remember how much this horrific event stunned the entire country. Although school shootings had happened before, none had ever been as severe as Columbine, and the subsequent days were filled with grief, disbelief, and dismay as this tragic event dominated public discourse for weeks.

The Scriptures a Safeguard

Chapter 37: The Scriptures a Safeguard

"To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them." Isaiah 8:20. The people of God are directed to the Scriptures as their safeguard against the influence of false teachers and the delusive power of spirits of darkness. Satan employs every possible device to prevent men from obtaining a knowledge of the Bible; for its plain utterances reveal his deceptions. At every revival of God's work the prince of evil is aroused to more intense activity; he is now putting forth his utmost efforts for a final struggle against Christ and His followers. The last great delusion is soon to open before us. Antichrist is to perform his marvelous works in our sight. So closely will the counterfeit resemble the true that it will be impossible to distinguish between them except by the Holy Scriptures. By their testimony every statement and every miracle must be tested.

Those who endeavor to obey all the commandments of God will be opposed and derided. They can stand only in God. In order to endure the trial before them, they must understand the will of God as revealed in His word; they can honor Him only as they have a right conception of His character, government, and purposes, and act in accordance with them. None but those who have fortified the mind with the truths of the Bible will stand through the last great conflict. To every soul will come the searching test: Shall I obey God rather than men? The decisive hour is even now at hand. Are our feet planted on the rock of God's immutable word? Are we prepared to stand firm in defense of the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus?

Pelosi Says Police May Arrest Federal Agents Who Violate California Law

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi suggested on Wednesday that local police could arrest federal agents if they break California law while conducting immigration raids that were expected this week in the San Francisco Bay Area.

With Border Patrol agents due to arrive, Ms. Pelosi issued the stark warning along with Kevin Mullin, a fellow Democratic representative, who represents the small slice of San Francisco that Ms. Pelosi doesn’t. President Trump has said several times in recent weeks that he wanted to send federal forces to the city.

“While the president may enjoy absolute immunity courtesy of his rogue Supreme Court, those who operate under his orders do not,” they wrote in a statement on Wednesday. “Our state and local authorities may arrest federal agents if they break California law — and if they are convicted, the president cannot pardon them.”

The Trump administration said on Wednesday that it was sending U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents to Coast Guard Island in Alameda, Calif., to prepare for an immigration enforcement operation.

Catholics who see themselves as ‘evangelical’ asked to take part in new research

Rise in number of evangelical Catholics of interest given “historical association of evangelicalism” with people like Ian Paisley

Practising Catholics who see themselves as ‘evangelical’ are being asked to take part in a new research project following an apparent surge in numbers.

The research is being carried out by Queen’s University Belfast after a recent survey indicated a dramatic rise in Catholics who term themselves evangelical.

According to a 2023 survey conducted by the polling organisation Savanta ComRes on behalf of the Evangelical Alliance in Northern Ireland, 38% of practising Catholics would now describe themselves as evangelical.

This represents a dramatic increase from the figure of 6% which was recorded in 2004, the only time this question was asked in the Northern Ireland Life and Times Survey, run by the ARK social policy hub at Queen’s and Ulster universities.

Evangelicalism has traditionally been more associated with the Protestant tradition, and now social scientists want to talk to those Catholics who would call themselves evangelical to explore the extent of the rising trend.

Professor Gladys Ganiel, from the School of Social Sciences, Education and Social Work at Queen’s, said the 2023 survey results were highly unexpected.

Southern Adventist University Denies That They’ve Approved a Turning Point USA Chapter on Campus

18 October 2025 |

Southern Adventist University (SAU) has denied a report by the website Fulcrum7 that there is a new chapter of Turning Point USA on its campus.

Turning Point USA (TPUSA) is a political organization founded by the late Charlie Kirk “to educate young people about the importance of limited government, free markets, and freedom.”

On October 15, Fulcrum7 wrote that

“Apparently there is a new TPUSA startup at Southern Adventist University—perhaps in the wake of Charlie’s assassination. From the new Chapter: ‘We’re a new startup at Southern Adventist University and we’re excited to join the tpusa community! We are fighting for free speech and freedom on a college campus!'”

The Southern Accent, SAU’s student newspaper, said on its Instagram page that

“Turning Point USA is NOT opening an official chapter at Southern Adventist University, according to Dennis Negrón, vice president for Student Development.”

The announcement on TPUSA’s website listed the two officers of the new chapter: Noel Hendrickson, president and treasurer; Izabel Sigulinski, vice president and secretary. Some commenters say these are former students, not current ones, though Adventist Today wasn’t able to confirm that. According to the handbook for student organizations at SAU, all student organizations must be approved by the university. Officers must be current students, and go through a registration process with the student development office.

Until an organization is registered, it cannot operate on behalf of Southern or take advantage of any privileges granted to registered Southern Student Organizations.”

A note from a SAU employee:

“I looked up the President and secretary/treasurer you mentioned for the reported upcoming chapter in our people finder for you. They are both listed as alumni, which would render them ineligible to start an official chapter here.”

Jesus’ Example in Humility, October 19

Observing All the Ordinances

If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. John 13:14, 15.

There is in man a disposition to esteem himself more highly than his brother, to work for self, to seek the highest place; and often this results in evil surmisings and bitterness of spirit. The ordinance preceding the Lord’s Supper is to clear away these misunderstandings, to bring man out of his selfishness, down from his stilts of self-exaltation, to the humility of heart that will lead him to serve his brother.75The Desire of Ages, 650.

The ordinance of feet washing most forcibly illustrates the necessity of true humility. While the disciples were contending for the highest place, in the promised kingdom, Christ girded Himself, and performed the office of a servant by washing the feet of those who called Him Lord.76SDA Bible Commentary 5:1139.

Reconciliation one with another is the work for which the ordinance of feet washing was instituted.... Whenever it is celebrated, Christ is present by His Holy Spirit. It is this Spirit that brings conviction to hearts.

As Christ celebrated this ordinance with His disciples, conviction came to the hearts of all save Judas. So we shall be convicted as Christ speaks to our hearts. The fountains of the soul will be broken up. The mind will be energized, and, springing into activity and life, will break down every barrier that has caused disunion and alienation. Sins that have been committed will appear with more distinctness than ever before; for the Holy Spirit will bring them to our remembrance.77Evangelism, 275.

Having washed the disciples’ feet, He [Jesus] said, “I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.” ... Christ was here instituting a religious service. By the act of our Lord this humiliating ceremony was made a consecrated ordinance. It was to be observed by the disciples, that they might ever keep in mind His lessons of humility and service.78The Desire of Ages, 650.

Shrinking Palestinian Christian Population Wary of Cease-Fire

To get from her home in Bethlehem to her college and workplace in Abu Dis, east of Jerusalem, Christine Awad had to pass through the only Israeli checkpoint connecting the northern and southern parts of the West Bank. Without this barrier and the traffic it forms, the drive would take 20 minutes. With it and the increased restrictions after the October 7, 2023, attack on Israel by Hamas-led militants, Awad’s commute every morning and evening until the end of her employment in June could stretch into a two-hour journey.

Every time she reached the checkpoint—one of the West Bank’s 849 checkpoints, road gates, and obstacles—Israeli soldiers climbed onto the bus. Sometimes they checked passenger IDs. Other times they demanded riders hand over unlocked phones and searched their contacts, messages, and photos. Sometimes they ordered commuters to get off the bus to undergo further inspection. Once a female friend of Awad’s was taken inside a booth and strip searched.

“You have no agency,” Awad, a Palestinian Christian, said of these interactions. “You can’t say no. You can’t refuse.”

Awad, now a graduate student at Bethlehem University, described passing through checkpoints as both scary and normal. The daughter of a Presbyterian pastor, Awad has lived her whole life under Israeli occupation—a term used to describe Israel’s military control of the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza, areas that would constitute a future Palestinian state.

Mehdi Hasan

Early life and education

Hasan was born on 10 July 1979[1][2] in Swindon, Wiltshire, in South West England to Shia Muslim parents from Hyderabad in Telangana, Southern India,[3][4][5] his mother a doctor and his father an engineer. Hasan grew up in Harrow, an area of outer North West London.[6][7]

2012–2020: Al Jazeera and The Intercept

In 2013, Hasan took part in a debate at the Oxford Union to consider whether Islam is a peaceful religion. Hasan, who is a Twelver Shia Muslim, vouched for Islam as a religion of peace, citing political and cultural reasons for violence in Muslim majority countries, as opposed to holding the religion of Islam responsible. In the vote on the motion, the house affirmed with Hasan and the other proposers that Islam is a religion of peace with 286 votes in favor and 168 votes against.[20] In March 2015, Hasan appeared in a Guardian opinion video on UK immigration.[21]

Islamic faith

During a sermon delivered in 2009, Hasan made remarks about "the kuffar, the disbelievers, the atheists who remain deaf and stubborn to the teachings of Islam, the rational message of the Quran." Quoting a verse of the Quran, Hasan used the term "cattle" to describe non-believers and called them "incapable of the intellectual effort it requires to shake off those blind prejudices."[47][48][49]

Personal life

Hasan is married. He and his wife have two daughters.[43] He became a naturalized citizen of the United States on October 9, 2020.[74]

*Twelver Shia Muslim

The term Twelver refers to its adherents' belief in twelve divinely ordained leaders, known as the Twelve Imams, and their belief that the last Imam, Imam al-Mahdi, lives in occultation (ghayba) and will reappear as "the awaited Mahdi" (al-Mahdi al-muntazar) alongside the awaited Nabi Isa, Jesus, The Messiah (Al-Masih) son of Bibi Mariam (The Virgin Mary), in order to restore justice and peace.

John 17

These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:

As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.

And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.

Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.

For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.

I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.

And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.

And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.

While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.

They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.

And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.

And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

Turning Point USA Gets a Chapter At Southern University

October 15, 2025 NewsHound

Turning Point USA (TPUSA) is an American nonprofit organization that advocates for conservative values on high school, college, and university campuses. It was founded in 2012 by Charlie Kirk and Bill Montgomery, with the goal of pushing back against the rampant ideological leftism on college campuses and universities.

According to their website, the student program exists to educate young people about the importance of limited government, free markets, and freedom.

With 800+ college chapters, Turning Point USA College is the largest and most impactful movement for promoting freedom-loving, American values. Students champion these initiatives by organizing into student-led chapters on their campus. Students are encouraged to be leaders in their communities and educate others on American ideals in a fun and compelling way.

Apparently there is a new TPUSA startup at Southern Adventist University—perhaps in the wake of Charlie’s assassination.

New York City Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani criticized former New York governor Andrew Cuomo on Thursday for not visiting enough mosques during his time in office.

“It took Andrew Cuomo being beaten by a Muslim candidate in the Democratic primary for him to set foot in a mosque,” said Mamdani during a live debate against Cuomo. “He had more than ten years and he couldn’t name a single mosque at the last debate we had that he visited.”

Mamdani continued, “What Muslims want in this city is what every community wants and deserves. They want equality and they want respect, and it took me to get you to even see those Muslims as part of this city, and that frankly is something that is shameful and is why so many New Yorkers have lost faith in this politics.”

After Cuomo protested, “I’ve worked with the Muslim community for many, many years,” Mamdani asked, “Name a single mosque you went to while you were the governor. Can you name a single mosque you went to in ten years?”

“Before you were ever here, before you were even in state government, I worked with the Muslim community,” responded Cuomo. “Imams presided over state of the states. We worked in religious working groups, tolerance groups, anti-Semitic groups, etcetera.”

“You couldn’t visit a mosque,” Mamdani concluded.

The former New York governor campaigned at a mosque for the first time in his race last month.

The Vatican will open a prayer room in the Vatican Apostolic Library for Muslim scholars.

One of world’s oldest libraries, the Holy See’s library includes millions of theologically significant texts from the Catholic Church and other religions. The Vatican Library is selectively open to scholars of all disciplines for research purposes.

Muslim scholars “have asked us for a room with a carpet for praying and we have given it to them,” Vice Prefect of the library Giacomo Cardinali said, explaining that the library is home to “incredibly old Qurans” and Hebrew, Ethiopian, Arabic, and Chinese texts.

“We are a universal library,” Cardinali said, and the decision to grant Muslims a space for prayer is part of the Vatican’s effort to bolster an international academic community.

The Church’s library is a celebration of shared human knowledge, Cardinali added, not knowledge belonging to one particular religious sect.

The Vatican’s accommodations stand in stark contrast to other faiths, which forbid or severely restrict Christians from visiting certain holy sites. Non-Muslims are not allowed to visit Islam’s holy city of Mecca, for example.

Vatican diplomat calls on UN to return to roots on human rights, avoid ideological colonization

CWN Editor's Note: Archbishop Gabriele Caccia, apostolic nuncio and Permanent Observer of the Holy See to the United Nations, called on the UN to seek “true reform” through return to its “foundational principles,” particularly a focus on respect for human rights.

“The roots of human rights are to be found in the God-given dignity that belongs to each human being,” Archbishop Caccia said in a statement for a recent UN meeting. “The State has the duty to promote and protect human rights, which are necessary conditions for human flourishing.”

The Holy See “notes that the interpretation of human rights has often been expanded beyond the scope of both law and consensus, with unintended ramifications,” the prelate added. “Consequently, the assertion of new concepts as rights can become an instrument of ideological colonization.”

Archbishop Caccia also said that the “Holy See insists on the central role of religious freedom, not because it ignores other freedoms, but because it is the litmus test for the respect of all other human rights and fundamental freedoms.”The above note supplements, highlights, or corrects details in the original source (link above). Turkey labels Christians ‘national security threat’ to deport them, rights group warns

Turkey has been deporting hundreds of foreign Christians and blocking their return by labeling them national security threats, according to an international legal advocacy group.

ADF International Legal Officer Lidia Rieder told a gathering of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe's Human Dimension Conference in Warsaw, Poland, on Monday that such designations are issued through internal security codes and have left local Protestant communities without leadership.

Since 2020, at least 200 foreign Christian workers and their families, totaling around 350 people, have been barred from the country under internal security codes N-82 and G-87, ADF International reports.

The codes are used by the Ministry of Interior to prevent re-entry or deny residence permits, often without charges or evidence of criminal wrongdoing, the group said.

Foreign Christians from countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, South Korea, Latin America and other parts of Europe have been denied visas or deported in recent years. Many had lived in Turkey with their families for extended periods and had no criminal record or pending legal cases, the Protestant association said.

A June 8 ruling from Turkey's Constitutional Court rejected an appeal by nine foreign Christians against the N-82 code. The court published their names, prompting media outlets to label them as missionaries and enemies of the state. The report noted that many online comments called for the death penalty and described killing them as a religious duty.

Between December 2024 and January 2025 alone, at least 35 new codes were assigned, including to people who had lived in the country for decades.

These administrative bans have significantly disrupted religious life in Turkey, where many congregations rely on foreign pastors.

One such case is Wiest v. Türkiye, currently before the European Court of Human Rights. The plaintiff, a U.S. citizen who had resided legally in Turkey for more than 30 years, was blocked from returning without explanation. ADF International said it alone is supporting over 30 related legal challenges in Turkish and European courts.
