The House enjoyed a moment of levity Wednesday afternoon when House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) slipped and called Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) "Father Boehner." Pelosi was in the midst of welcoming Father Patrick Conroy as the new House Chaplain.
The slip-up prompted Boehner to joke, "I've been called a lot of things, but not that."
As Republicans cheered, Pelosi replied, "You really have to be a good politician to be called Father Boehner."
Conroy is the 60th House Chaplain and was quickly sworn in to replace Daniel Coughlin. "We pray for you, please pray for us," Pelosi said.
