A New World On The Horizon

"And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."Revelation 21:1-4

As we enter the final month of this tumultuous year and prepare to transition into 2021, we do so with the knowledge that our world has dramatically changed since 2020 began. Even in this present moment, those of us who are alive and remain are living through history that will someday be studied and scrutinized if this world should persist for another hundred years. We stand at the precipice of a massive societal shift as we edge closer to an existence that would be utterly unrecognizable to our forefathers.

The coronavirus pandemic has served as the catalyst to bring about this monumental change. It happened so quickly that no one had time to prepare for what was coming. Just weeks after a new mystery virus was reported in Wuhan, China, countries worldwide were subjecting their citizens to lockdowns, which caused an economic meltdown. Suddenly, millions were without work and without a means to feed their families. Nine months later, the pandemic appears to be worse than ever.

Nevertheless, we are told that a new president is going to take charge of the United States. It is also claimed that at least two Covid-19 vaccines are on the way and within weeks of being ready for distribution. Are these the solutions we need? Will our broken country be fixed? After carefully studying the current events of our day, I firmly believe that when the dust settles and the pandemic is declared to be over, the world will be transformed forever.

A Dark Winter Ahead

On November 12, 2020, a report from the Wall Street Journal informed its readers that Covid-19 was spreading rapidly across the United States. At the time, new cases of infection had exceeded 100,000 cases per day for nine straight days. A record-breaking 65,386 hospitalizations were also reported with an overall death toll that claimed the lives of more than 242,000 people. (1) It is now November 26, 2020, and the numbers are still climbing dramatically. As of this writing, the number of hospitalizations has broken records for seventeen straight days with 90,481 people hospitalized at this present time. (2) Total deaths exceed 269,000, and more than 13 million infections have been reported in total. (3) These numbers are rising so quickly that the totals will likely be much higher by the time you read this newsletter.

As the numbers continue to rise, politicians and scientists are offering some rather bleak predictions for the coming months. Joe Biden, the man whom we have been told won the 2020 Presidential Election, told the American people to expect a "dark winter" in comments offered on November 9, 2020. (4) In like manner, Dr. Albert Ko of the Yale School of Public Health was quoted as saying, "The next two months are going to be rough, difficult ones. We could see another 100,000 deaths by January." (5) Christopher Murray, who is director of the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington, also offered a glum assessment. "We are past the point of being able to get the virus under control. There is too much of it out there," he warned. (6)

In the days leading up to the American holiday of Thanksgiving, which took place on November 26, 2020, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, or CDC, pleaded with the American people not to travel for the customary celebration. "The safest way to celebrate Thanksgiving this year is at home with the people in your household," insisted Dr. Erin Sauber-Schatz of the CDC. (7) Despite the warning, more than 5.9 million people traveled by air to various locations around the country during the week leading up to the holiday. This fact prompted even more bleak warnings of peril to come. "I don't mean to be scary, but… today can change the course of Covid for our country for the rest of the year. Infections that are sustained today are going to show up in three weeks and are going to show up in deaths over Christmas and New Year's and are going to spread to every state," said medical analyst Dr. Megan Ranney of Brown University. (8) Dr. William Schaffner, a professor of infectious disease at Vanderbilt University, offered a similar assessment. "The virus is going to attend some of those Thanksgiving dinners and will spread, I'm afraid. And then people will come home, some of them will become ill, spread it further into their families and into their neighborhoods. In a week, more likely two weeks, we will see a surge upon a surge. We're in for a tough time." (9) Finally, while speaking of those traveling for Thanksgiving, former White House medical team adviser Jonathan Reiner bluntly stated, "It's potentially the mother of all superspreader events." (10)

Given these warnings' dire nature, one might wonder why so many people still chose to travel. Quite simply put, the American people are weary of being pushed around by government entities. This simple fact was bemoaned by Dr. Anthony Fauci, who became America's most famous infectious disease expert during this pandemic. Speaking at a meeting in November 2020, Fauci offered this revealing statement: "I was talking with my U.K. (United Kingdom) colleagues who are saying the U.K. is similar to where we are now because each of our countries have that independent spirit. I can understand that, but now is the time to do what you're told." (11) In other words, Fauci expects the American people to surrender their rights guaranteed by the United States Constitution.

Oddly enough, government officials have been caught numerous times violating the restrictions they have set in place for others. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi made headlines back in September of this year when she visited an indoor salon to have her hair styled. At the time, no indoor salon services were permitted in San Francisco, California, where the salon is located. To make matters worse, Pelosi was caught on camera with her mask pulled down and her face exposed. (12) In another example of blatant hypocrisy, Democrats were celebrating in large groups on the streets of American cities after Joe Biden was proclaimed to be the winner of the 2020 election. This includes Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot who defended her decision to endanger human lives by not only allowing large crowds to assemble, but also joining them. "There are times when we actually do need to have a relief and come together and I felt like that was one of those times. And that crowd was gathered whether I was there or not," the hypocritical mayor declared. (13) Just days after her celebration, Mayor Lightfoot issued new stay-at-home orders for Chicagoans. (14) California Governor Gavin Newsome also came under fire recently when it was revealed that he had attended a birthday party on November 6, 2020, despite urging the citizens of his state to avoid all social gatherings with people of other households. (15) Newsome later apologized for his indiscretion, stating, "I want to apologize to you because I need to preach and practice, not just preach and not practice, and I've done my best to do that. We're all human. We all fall short sometimes." (16) Denver, Colorado, Mayor Michael Hancock also found himself in hot water after he urged the people of his state to refrain from gathering for Thanksgiving in person and then proceeded to travel to the state of Mississippi to be with his family for the holiday. "I recognize that my decision has disappointed many who believe it would have been better to spend Thanksgiving alone. As a public official, whose conduct is rightly scrutinized for the message it sends to others, I apologize to the residents of Denver who see my decision as conflicting with the guidance to stay at home for all but essential travel," the Mayor said in his mea culpa. (17) Last but not least, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo faced criticism after urging others to stay home but then admitted that his mother and two of his children were planning to visit for a Thanksgiving gathering. His plans abruptly changed after they were reported on the news. (18)

It should be noted that New York state has some of the strictest pandemic restrictions at this present time. These restrictions include a ten-person limit on all indoor gatherings even within private residences. Governor Cuomo evidently expects law enforcement personnel to crack down on so-called illegal gatherings in homes and publicly criticized police officers who refused to stop them. "I don't want a law enforcement officer who says, 'I'm only enforcing the law that I like or think should be enforced,'" the governor complained while also noting, "A lot of police officers don't wear a mask." (19) Nevertheless, New York City Sheriff Joseph Fucito promised that harsh restrictions would be enforced in the days ahead. "Sheriff teams will be out in force as the holidays approach. There will be vehicle checkpoints at key bridges and crossings throughout New York City. Sheriff will also be conducting checkpoints at curbside drop off bus stops - so out-of-state buses coming into New York City, when they drop off at the curb, they will be met by sheriff teams." (20) As of right now, visitors to the state of New York are required to provide a negative Covid-19 test result when they enter the state. Even with a negative test, visitors are still expected to quarantine for three days and then be tested again. (21) Sadly, many areas of the United States are beginning to resemble an authoritarian regime akin to the former Soviet Union.

Meanwhile, the state of Oregon has placed a strict limit on all indoor and outdoor gatherings that cannot exceed six people. Oregon Governor Kate Brown has urged the people of her state to turn in violators to the authorities! "This is no different than what happens if there's a party down the street and it's keeping everyone awake. What do neighbors do? They call law enforcement because it's too noisy. This is just like that. It's like a violation of a noise ordinance." (22) Thus we see an American governor telling American citizens to turn in their friends and neighbors who violate this mandate. There is a well-known novel that describes similar behavior. It is called 1984 and was written by George Orwell. However, what is happening now is not a work of fiction.

I have stated on numerous occasions since the pandemic began that the United States Constitution is no longer in full effect. It is interesting to note that there is a highly prominent figure who agrees with this sentiment. Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito gave a speech on November 12, 2020, wherein he declared, "I think it is an indisputable statement of fact: We have never before seen restrictions as severe, extensive, and prolonged as those experienced for most of 2020." He further continued, "Think about all the live events that would otherwise be protected by freedom of speech - live speeches, conferences, lectures, meetings. Think of worship services. Churches closed on Easter Sunday; synagogues closed for Passover and Yom Kippur. Think about access to the courts and the constitutional right to a speedy trial. Trials in federal courts have virtually disappeared in many places. Who could have imagined that?" Finally, Justice Alito remarked, "The COVID crisis has served as sort of a constitutional stress test." (23) Thus, we see that the coronavirus crisis has severely eroded personal liberty in this country. While it might be expected that some of these liberties will return when the crisis is over, those in positions of power now know that they can get away with suspending the rights of the American people if there is a public health crisis. It is a safe assumption that the coronavirus pandemic will not be the last crisis. In fact, in the years to come, the American people could again see an assault on their rights as world governments work to combat what they call climate change. The coming years are likely to bring more desperate times, and as such, we who know our God must draw near to Him. We are assured in James 4:8, "Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you." Ultimately, this is what we need to do if we are going to survive what is ahead.

Back To Normal?

Since the very beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, the only hope that the scientific community has ever offered for a return to normalcy is that someday we might have a vaccine to fight against the virus. As such, President Donald Trump's team set to work on enacting a plan known as Operation Warp Speed, which was designed to develop, mass-produce, and distribute a vaccine as quickly as possible. In the weeks leading up to the 2020 Presidential election, the President often claimed that a vaccine was only weeks away. Apparently, he was correct in his assertion. Nearly one week after the election had ended, the drugmaker known as Pfizer announced that new data from their medical trials indicates their coronavirus vaccine is about ninety percent effective. Dr. Anthony Fauci hailed this announcement, stating the findings are "just extraordinary." He further went on to say, "Not very many people expected it would be as high as that. It's going to have a major impact on everything we do with respect to Covid." President Trump also lauded the announcement and excitedly posted on Twitter, "Stock market up big. Vaccine coming soon. Report 90% effective. Such great news!" (24) Just days later, on November 16, 2020, the drugmaker known as Moderna announced their vaccine is 94 percent effective according to the latest data. (25) Suddenly, we were told there were not one but two vaccines that could soon be distributed to people worldwide. As it stands, millions of people could be receiving these vaccines very soon. "There is a chance that we can receive approval from the US or Europe or both regions this year still. We may even start delivering the vaccine in December if everyone works together very closely," said Ugur Sahin, who is co-founder of the firm known as BioNTech, which co-developed the vaccine with Pfizer. (26)

With new Covid vaccines so close to being available, the United States could be facing a new controversy. According to Dr. Moncef Slaoui, one of the top advisors for President Donald Trump's Operation Warp Speed initiative, seventy percent of the American population needs to be vaccinated to achieve herd immunity against Covid-19. "Normally, with the level of efficacy, we have 95% - then 70% or so of the population being immunized would allow true herd immunity to take place. That is likely to happen somewhere in the month of May [2021], something like that, based on our plans," Dr. Slaoui explained. (27) Thus, the experts say if enough people get vaccinated, we could be back to "normal" by the spring of next year. However, a poll released by Gallup on November 17, 2020, indicates that only 58 percent of those surveyed say they would be willing to take the vaccine. (28) I know many people who have emphatically stated they will not take the shot under any circumstances.

There are many reasons a person might turn the vaccine down. For one thing, vaccines are often developed using fetal cells from aborted babies. This fact prompted Joseph Brennan, a Catholic Bishop in Fresno, California, to say, "I won't be able to take the vaccine, brothers and sisters, and I encourage you not to if it was developed with material from stem cells that were derived from a baby that was aborted, or material that was cast off from artificial insemination of a human embryo. That's morally unacceptable to us," he said. (29) Representatives from Pfizer and Moderna have attempted to assuage concern from pro-life Americans by claiming that fetal cells from aborted babies were not used to develop their vaccines. However, it has come to light that such fetal cells were used to test the vaccines. (30) Conversely, the vaccine being developed by the firm known as AstraZeneca did use fetal cells in its production. Thus, those who receive the AstraZeneca shot will have trace amounts of aborted baby cells injected into their bodies. (30)

Aside from the moral issues at hand, some folks might be reluctant to receive the Covid-19 vaccine due to its rather unpleasant side effects. An article published by CNBC on November 23, 2020, admits the shots produced by Pfizer and Moderna "could induce side effects that are similar to symptoms associated with mild Covid-19, such as muscle pain, chills, and headache." This is especially problematic since it is claimed that people must receive two rounds of inoculation for the treatment to be effective. However, people may be disinclined to receive a second shot after they experience these unpleasant side effects. "We really need to make patients aware that this is not going to be a walk in the park," said Dr. Sandra Fryhofer of the American Medical Association. (31)

It seems likely that those who are unwilling to receive a Covid-19 vaccination in the coming months will face an immense amount of pressure from the public, the government, and the medical field to capitulate. Those who refuse could end up losing certain privileges. In fact, the Australian airline known as Qantas recently announced that in the near future they would not allow passengers to travel on their international flights unless they have received a Covid-19 vaccine. The airline also hinted that the restriction could be implemented on domestic routes within Australia as well. "Whether you need that domestically, we'll have to see what happens with Covid-19 in the market, but certainly for international visitors coming out and people leaving the country we think that's a necessity," said Qantas chief executive officer Alan Joyce. He then stated that other airlines are planning to follow suit. "I'm talking to my colleagues in other airlines around the globe and I think it's going to be a common theme across the board. There's a lot of logistics, a lot of technology that'll be needed to put in place to make this happen, but the airlines and the governments are working on this as we speak." (32) According to an article published by Axios on November 7, 2020, companies are already working on designing digital "immunity certificates" for Covid-19. The article suggests that such certificates may be required before individuals can return to work or travel. (33) Perhaps the world will not return to normal after all, even with these new vaccines available.

The Great Reset

In recent months, there has been a lot of chatter on the Internet about "the Great Reset." There is likely considerable confusion regarding the topic, so I will try to explain as clearly as possible what it means. It should be noted that news media sources such as The Daily Beast (34) and the New York Times have already dismissed the Great Reset as a conspiracy theory. In fact, the Times went so far as to call it a "baseless" conspiracy theory. (35) However, the Great Reset is a very real agenda. In another article published by the New York Times, we are told that the World Economic Forum, or WEF, is delaying its annual summit, which occurs each year in Davos, Switzerland. Instead of holding the next meeting in January of 2021, it will be moved to the summer of next year. The article then cites Adrian Monck, a managing director at the World Economic Forum, as saying, "The need for global leaders to come together to design a common recovery path and shape the 'Great Reset' in the post-Covid-19 era is urgent." (36) Thus, by their own admission, the Great Reset is not merely a conspiracy theory; it is a plan to reshape the world's economic system in the "post-Covid-19 era."

Those involved in the project are not shy about it. The WEF's website is replete with articles openly discussing their reset agenda. Klaus Schwab, who is the founder and executive chairman at the WEF, explained his group's objective when he said, "To achieve a better outcome, the world must act jointly and swiftly to revamp all aspects of our societies and economies, from education to social constructs and working conditions. Every country, from the United States to China, must participate, and every industry, from oil and gas to tech, must be transformed. In short, we need a 'Great Reset' of capitalism." (37)

Thus, we see the WEF has seized upon the coronavirus crisis as an opportunity to transform and reshape the world. While some might argue that the WEF has no authority to implement such a plan, we must remember that some of the most influential people on the planet are a part of this group. This includes former American Secretary of State John Kerry, who has served as a panelist for the WEF's Great Reset discussions. At one of these discussions, Kerry made it abundantly clear that he doesn't want the world to go back to normal after the pandemic is over. "Normal was a crisis; normal wasn't working. We must not think of it in terms of pushing a button and going back to the way things were. We're a long way off from being able to go back to any kind of normal," Kerry opined. (38) In a more recent discussion that took place in November 2020, Kerry stated, "The notion of a reset is more important than ever before. I personally believe we're at the dawn of an extremely exciting time." (39) It should be noted that Joe Biden has selected John Kerry as his Special Presidential Envoy for Climate. (40) In other words, Kerry could play a crucial role in forming the United States' policies regarding climate change.

Further adding to the intrigue, Pope Francis recently urged the world's young people to embrace a new world economic system. "You recognize the urgent need for a different economic narrative. The present world system is certainly unsustainable from a number of points of view and is harming our sister earth, so gravely maltreated and despoiled, together with the poor and the excluded in our midst." (41) The pope's comments go hand-in-hand with the Great Reset plan, which by the way, goes hand-in-hand with the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. In reality, we are seeing attempts to restructure the world and bring about an antichrist one world government united under a single economic system. If they are allowed to do this, the world as we know it will be very different in the years ahead.

Even as the world's elite work to bring about a new world, we who follow the Scriptures know that this planet we presently occupy will not last forever. However, our God is preparing a new world for His people, and what He is making for us will be far better than anything the World Economic Forum can produce. In John 14:2-3, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ promised us, "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." Revelation 21:1-4 describes the place that is now being prepared. These verses declare, "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." If you have not yet repented of your sins and dedicated your life to God, I urge you to so now. We are closer than ever to our eternal destination. It is my hope and prayer that we will all be ready when that day arrives.
