Georgetown University Hospital - Adventist Health Care Behavioral Health Services form partnership...

Department of Psychiatry, Georgetown University Hospital - Adventist Health Care Behavioral Health Services form partnership to Establish a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship

We are extremely pleased to announce that the Georgetown University Hospital Department of Psychiatry has reached agreement with Adventist Health Care Behavioral Health Services to establish a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship. This partnership will provide outstanding training opportunities and allow us to address the growing need for high quality Child and Adolescent psychiatrists in our community.

The Adventist system has a wide range of mental health services for children and adolescents. This partnership will allow us to offer the full range of training opportunities necessary for a fellowship and will provide funding for residents. GUH will provide the academic base for the program as well as additional clinical training (e.g. outpatient, C-L) and supervision. The first step in the process will be the recruitment of the Fellowship Director who will be based at Adventist and have a faculty appointment at Georgetown. Although there are a number of steps that need to be completed, we are hoping that our first fellowship class will be able to start in 2010.
