Period film shooting at Upper Canada Village

A period movie about the founding of an evangelical church is shooting at Upper Canada village in Morrisburg, south of Ottawa.

The Australian film with a $5-million budget is using almost exclusively Ottawa actors and production crew over the next month of shooting.

Tell The World is about the events leading up to the establishment of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the mid-1800s.

All but one of the 93 actors are from Ottawa. The 100 crew members are local as well.

Hundreds of local extras will also take part in the film.

The CBC's Laurie Fagan toured the set at Upper Canada Village on Tuesday. Here is a photo gallery of some of her images.

Australian director Kyle Portbury is directing the film, which has a budget of $5 million.
