DHS reports what happened between ICE and a Venezuelan man
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said a federal officer shot a Venezuelan man in the leg in Minneapolis after the man allegedly fled a targeted traffic stop and attacked the officer. The officer stopped the man at 6.50 pm local time. The mandrove away, crashed into a parked car, and ran on foot, the department said.

During the struggle, two other men apparently came out of an apartment and attacked the officer with a snow shovel and a broom handle. The man also picked up a shovel or broomstick and attacked the officer again, the department said.
“Fearing for his life and safety as he was being ambushed by three individuals, the officer fired defensive shots to defend his life,” the statement said. The man was shot in the leg. All three men barricaded themselves in the apartment but were later taken into custody.
