The Loma Linda University Church (LLUC) Sabbath Seminars for early 2026 feature a series titled 
“Welcoming the LGBTQ+ Adventist,” which runs from January 10 through February 21, 2026, with key sessions focusing on LGBTQ+ advocacy, biology, and theology. 
The seminar series is held on Saturday mornings from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Centennial Complex, room 3208, at Loma Linda University. 
Series Schedule (Jan 10 – Feb 14, 2026):
  • January 10: “UnClobber” by author Colby Martin. This session explores "clobber passages" in the Bible and discusses being gay and Christian.
  • January 17: Mama Bears the Movie. A screening and discussion about mothers advocating for their LGBTQ+ children.
  • January 24: “The Biology of Gender” presented by Dr. Kerby Oberg.
  • January 31: Presentations from members of the LGBTQ+ Adventist community.
  • February 7: A session featuring allies of the LGBTQ+ Adventist community.
  • February 14: “Soul Trauma: The Plight of the LGBTQIA+ Church Members” by Jim Walters. 
Key Details:
  • Purpose: The series aims to provide an open and affirming perspective, encouraging the inclusion of LGBTQ+ individuals in the church, and exploring the intersection of faith, biology, and social justice.
  • Accessibility: The meetings are available in person and via Zoom.
  • Context: The class has formally rejected the equation of LGBTQIA+ individuals to sinners in recent church leadership statements, advocating instead for a welcoming, supportive approach.
