FIRST ON FOX: Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., is facing a GOP-led censure resolution on Wednesday after her fiery remarks at a pro-Palestinian conference.
Tlaib spoke at the People’s Conference for Palestine in Detroit over the weekend, when she condemned both Democrats and Republicans for supporting Israel as its military campaign in Gaza continues.
Rep. Buddy Carter, R-Ga., who introduced the measure, accused Tlaib of "vilifying her colleagues, endangering the lives of Jewish people, and celebrating terrorism."
"Her conduct is beneath that of a civilized person, let alone a member of Congress. I am calling on the House of Representatives to censure her remarks and put Democrats on notice for enabling and cheering on antisemitism in their own party," Carter told Fox News Digital.

The King and the Pope
We learn that in the last few days our King, Charles III, and his wife, paid a ‘surprise visit’ to see the Pope of Rome. This comes hard on the heels of the various favourable comments he has made regarding Islam – comments which have drawn a lot of criticism – particularly as they come from the man who promised to uphold the Protestant Reformed faith at his coronation. That is, therefore, an appointed task to make that particular effort. And so, for exactly the same reason as we criticized his favourable comments about Islam, we therefore criticize this visit to the Pope of Rome.
Now, as far as Rome is concerned, such a welcome is no surprise. After all, Karol Wojtyla, when Pope, held a ‘joint prayer session’ at Assisi with various Muslim leaders in 1986, joining with them in ‘prayer’. And recently the current Pope is reported by the Catholic News Agency to have had a brief, ‘unscheduled meeting’ with the imam of Perugia, Abdel Qader Mohammed. Even Ratzinger, when Pope, did not condemn the meeting. So it is clear that Rome is perfectly happy to hold hands with Islam, despite He whom they claim to worship not even being the same God as the false god of Islam.[1]
It is also clear that for all their ‘fiery words’ about various subjects, Rome has no intention of holding any of its high profile adherents to account for the positions they hold, especially so on morality – for example LifeSite News reports, “Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, a vocal proponent of abortion and euthanasia, was caught on camera receiving Holy Communion — just moments after a visiting priest condemned those very sins in a powerful homily.”[2]

Florida will work to end all vaccine mandates, state Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo announced Wednesday at a press conference with Gov. Ron DeSantis.
“Every last one of them is wrong and drips with disdain and slavery,” Ladapo said.
The announcement at a private Christian school in Hillsborough County was met with loud applause from the crowd.
Ladapo did not provide specifics but said Florida would be the first state in the nation to wipe out vaccine mandates.
Florida law requires students to be vaccinated against a variety of diseases — including chickenpox, measles, polio and tetanus — before enrolling in school. But compliance has dropped sharply in recent years with more parents using an easy-to-get religious exemption to avoid getting their children vaccinated. That drop has alarmed public health officials, who say vaccines have wiped out dangerous childhood diseases and saved lives.

VATICAN CITY (CNS) — Pope Leo XIV met privately Sept. 1 with Jesuit Father James Martin, an author and editor known for his ministry with LGBTQ Catholics.
Father Martin, who was in Rome to lead a Sept. 2-7 pilgrimage of LGBTQ Catholics, wrote on X: “I was honored and grateful to meet with the Holy Father @Pontifex this morning in an audience in the Apostolic Palace, and moved to hear the same message I heard from Pope Francis on LGBTQ Catholics, which is one of openness and welcome.”

TV’s portrayal of ‘anti-Christian lifestyles’
At the 2012 Synod of Bishops on the new evangelization, then-Father Robert F. Prevost, the future Pope Leo, criticized television’s positive portrayal of “anti-Christian” lifestyles.
He had told the synod that portrayals of the modern family on television and in films present a huge challenge to the Catholic Church. “Note, for example, how alternative families comprised of homosexual partners and their adopted children are so benignly and sympathetically portrayed on television programs and in cinema,” he told synod members.
“The sympathy for anti-Christian lifestyle choices that the mass media fosters is so brilliantly and artfully engrained in the viewing public that when people hear the Christian message, it often inevitably seems ideological and emotionally cruel by contrast to the ostensible humaneness of the anti-Christian perspective,” he had said.
Church’s need ‘to be open, welcoming’
In September 2023, after he was made a cardinal, CNS asked him about his earlier remarks; he said, “I would say there’s been a development in the sense of the need for the church to open and to be welcoming.”
“On that level, I think Pope Francis has made it very clear that he doesn’t want people to be excluded simply on the basis of choices that they make, whether it be lifestyle, work, the way they dress or whatever,” he said.
“Doctrine has not changed,” the cardinal said. “But we are looking to be more welcoming and more open and to say all people are welcome in the church.”

Thousands of union members and others participated in marches, rallies and picnics on Labor Day throughout the Los Angeles region and across the country on Monday, decrying actions by the Trump administration that they say weaken unions and harm workers while strengthening and emboldening major corporations and the wealthy.
A White House proclamation Monday said President Trump’s actions are “reversing decades of neglect and finally putting American Workers first” by rewriting tax laws and creating a better economic climate for businesses.
His critics say he is undermining, in historic ways, the government and labor-union infrastructure established to protect workers — and therefore hurting individual workers.
Participants at a massive Wilmington rally and parade — organized by the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor — united over a common foe: Trump.
“Donald Trump has gone too far,” said state Sen. Maria Elena Durazo (D-Los Angeles), as she and others linked typical Labor Day rhetoric directly to immigration raids. “On this Labor Day, we have an American president who takes parents from their children and workers from their jobs.”
The raids are no longer about border security, Durazo said, but “about breaking the backbone of our economy and terrorizing families.”
”Fighting for workers’ rights means fighting for immigrant rights,” said Angelica Salas, the executive director of the immigrant advocacy group CHIRLA.
