After 8 years of the Quadrillions spent on this bogus "war on t-error";
After the draconian Patriot Acts I and II;
After 8 years of "WMD"(Weapons of Mass Distraction) propaganda;
After the war @ Iraq has turned into a permanent occupation with "no way out";
After the repeated assaults against the Constitution and the Bill of Rights; Such as Posse Comitatus, Habeas Corpus, Secret Renditions, Water Boarding, The Establishment of Camp X-Ray on the prison island of Cuba, Abu-Graib, Data - Mining, Wire Taps, etc.
And the participation of such leading characters in this long nightmare of Donald Rumsfeld, Alberto Gonzalez, Karl Rove, and Scootter Libby, to name just a handful.
When it seems as is Y2K was just a dry run or harbinger of these abnormal times.
When the Supreme Court is filled by President Bush with 2 more Roman Catholics, to bring it to a total of 5 out of 9 Justices; Who has the moral authority of speaking about judges that legislate from the bench???
When there is the recurring banter for the invasion and destruction of Iran because it is suspected to have nuclear capabilities (another boondoggle for the Congressional Industrial Military Complex), and should by nipped in the bud.
When the economy is bleeding millions by the second in this futile exercise in Global Domination, called "war on t-error".
When the whole airline industry is ready to cease and desist from existing in mid-flight.
When the price of gas has reached well over $4 per gallon for regular, and a barrel of oil is $130.
When the controlled media continues to rope a dope the captive audiences with stories about:
Will Hilliary get to run on the Obama ticket? The Space Station Toilet Bowl is clogged; What Obama's pastor said; Pastor John Hagee apologizing to the Vatican for previous statements; Or asinine stories about baby pandas, and baby rhinoceros being born in zoos,
etc.
Yet, The bishop of Rome comes to America to visit his flock, and receives an unprecedented welcome by the current methodist president on the flight line (modern British jargon: Tarmac) as
if he were a head of state; Which he actually is! Which raises the appearance of a conflict of interest of historical magnitude, since as our nation is founded on a Constitution that separates the Government from meddling, approving or promoting a "church". Here we see our country giving the nod of approval to a foreign national, promoting a secular/spiritual agenda. And if that was the epitome of the abominable aspects of Ratzinger's visit; He was then flown to New York City to continue his evangelizing tour, having finished all his round in Washington, District of Columbia, on a U.S. Military Helicopter to add insult to this atrocity.
Then, now that GM is closing plant after plant; Ford has stopped manufacturing F-150's 'cause they just aren't selling; Chrysler was dropped by Daimler Benz because it was losing money on it; etc. Yet, the big oil companies such as Exxon-Mobil, BP (British Petroleum), Shell (Dutch), are making record multi-billion dollar profits.
The Economy is sputtering on a downward spiral with lay-offs, reduction of personnel, down-sizing, 4 day work weeks,
being the rule rather than the exception.
Need I ask you again; Are you better off today than you were 8 years ago?
Well, I believe it gets even worse after this administration, or lack thereof.
Y2K was the beginning of the Millennium of Fear
(The New World Order; aka Business as usual, remember that line?), and the Century of Change.
