20:59 07 SET 2012 (AGI) Beirut - The Lebanese government proclaimed a national holiday on the occasion of the visit of Pope Benedict XVI on September 15, as announced by Premier Nayib Mikati, according to the national press agency Ann. On that day, the Pope will meet Lebanese President Michel Suleiman and other institutions and authorities of the Country. All shops, public offices, schools and universities will be closed. A series of events have been planned for the period of the Pope's visit.
