An Air Of Desperation In This Modern World

"Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory."

Matthew 24:29-30

"And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come: And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved."

Acts 2:19-21

"He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes. He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?"

Psalm 147:16-17

In this issue of the Last Trumpet Newsletter, we will consider the eventful time in which we live and the desperation that is setting in amongst the world's population. Last month, I reported that the magnetic pole of the earth is rapidly and dramatically shifting, a development that has caused great concern in the scientific community. Further raising concern, a long string of strange and extreme weather has affected a large portion of our planet, prompting concerns that climate change is intensifying around the globe. This fear of climate change is one of the driving causes of humanity's desperate behavior and could lead to a bizarre chain of events in the future.

As I conduct research for this newsletter, I sometimes come across news stories that I find difficult to believe. Nevertheless, even though what I am about to write sounds like fiction, it is absolutely true. In December 2018, Forbes Magazine reported that scientists are now preparing to do experiments that will involve attempts to block out the sun partially. In an effort to stop the effects of global warming and climate change, scientists from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, plan to begin experiments in the spring of 2019, which will involve the launching of a steerable balloon that will disperse particles of calcium carbonate into the atmosphere. The hope is that these particles will block some of the heat from the sun and thus have a cooling effect on our planet. (1) However, the author of the Forbes piece reports that such research is highly controversial because no one knows for certain what the impact of these experiments might be. "Blocking out sunlight has been controversial in the scientific community for decades. The controversy lies in the inability to fully understand the consequences of partially blocking out sunlight. A reduction in global temperature is well understood and expected. However, there remain questions around this method's impact on precipitation patterns, the ozone, and crop yields globally," wrote Trevor Nace, the author of the report. This upcoming project, which is known as the "Stratospheric Controlled Perturbation Experiment," or SCoPEx, is being partially funded by Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates. (2)

Considering the fact that sunlight is essential for life on earth, it is not difficult to imagine how such experiments could go terribly wrong. Even more startling, the Bible reports numerous times that the sun will be darkened in the last days of humanity! In Matthew 24:29-30 we are warned by Jesus Christ Himself, "Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory." In like manner, the Apostle Peter quoted from the book of Joel in Acts chapter 2 when he preached at Pentecost, stating in Acts 2:19-20, "And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come." As I have written before, many of the distressing problems the scientific community ascribes to climate change sound very much like the fulfillment of Bible prophecy. As such, I cannot help but wonder: what if it is not climate change that is going to destroy our world but rather man's attempts to stop climate change? What we do know for certain is that Scripture plainly tells us that the sun will be darkened. We also know that scientists are trying to block the sun.

Radical Climate Action

It is evident that people are beginning to panic. On November 30, 2018, thousands of schoolchildren in Australia walked out of class to protest climate change. Protests occurred in the Australian cities of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and elsewhere. One of the protest leaders at the demonstrations was quoted as saying, "This is just the beginning. This is our first strike, our first movement altogether… We will keep leading more campaigns until something is done." (3)

Similar protests have been happening in countries throughout Europe including the United Kingdom. On February 15, 2019, thousands of students walked out of school in the United Kingdom to protest what they call "inaction" regarding climate change. These protestors are calling for "radical action." One student was quoted regarding the high turnout as saying, "It goes some way to proving that young people aren't apathetic, we're passionate, articulate, and we're ready to continue demonstrating the need for urgent and radical climate action." (4) The word "radical" popped up more than once. "What we've witnessed today is thousands upon thousands of students, and young people descend on their towns and cities to demonstrate the urgent need for radical climate action," said Jake Woodier of the UK Youth Climate Coalition. (5) Note the similarity in these statements. The call for "radical climate action" from both of these young people suggests that both have a common teacher and learned those words from the same source. It is not difficult to imagine a scenario where these young protestors could become young revolutionaries fighting against the older generations that they blame for ruining the earth and whom they perceive to be their enemies.

The call for climate change action is closely intertwined with a demand to implement socialism. In the United States, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, who is an avowed socialist, has called for a "Green New Deal" to stop climate change. In the United Kingdom, Member of Parliament Caroline Lucas, who hails from Brighton, has called on the United Kingdom to adopt a similar "Green New Deal." Speaking at one of the protests on February 15, Ms. Lucas told her audience, "In the U.S., she is calling for a Green New Deal, and here in the UK we are calling for a Green New Deal."Lucas also repeated Ocasio-Cortez's claim that the world has less than twelve years left to stop climate change. "The evidence is really shocking; we have less than twelve years to get off the collision course that we're on, my generation has let you down," Lucas said. She later went on to say, "You shouldn't be here, you should be in class. But students should only be allowed to miss lessons in exceptional circumstances. The collapse of civilizations is a vital exceptional circumstance." (6)

People can react in unpredictable ways when they think the planet is dying, but the truth is, this planet we live on today has been slowly dying since sin entered into the world thousands of years ago. Isaiah 51:6 succinctly tells us that"the earth shall wax old like a garment." Nevertheless, we also find great comfort in God's word. In the aforementioned second chapter of Acts, Peter assures us in Acts 2:21,"And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved." Thus we see the real solution is to cry out to God and call upon Him. Salvation comes from God. We cannot save ourselves, but He can save us. If you have not yet repented of your sins and dedicated your life to God, I urge you to do so now.

From One Extreme To Another

I have spent my entire life living in the state of Wisconsin. Something every Wisconsinite knows to be true is that winter is going to bring frigid temperatures and snow. However, what has happened in recent weeks has been startling for those who live here and in the nearby Midwestern states. As January came to a close, bitterly cold air from the arctic descended on this area of the world, prompting stern warnings from meteorologists and government officials. On January 30, 2019, we were told not to go outside unless absolutely necessary and repeatedly warned that exposed skin could be damaged in as little as five minutes by this extreme cold. I recall checking the weather that day and noting that the actual air temperature was about minus 25 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 32 degrees Celsius). With wind-chill, the temperature exceeded minus 40 degrees Fahrenheit. On the evening of January 29, 2019, the temperature with wind-chill dropped to minus 77 degrees in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, (minus 60 Celsius) and the actual air temperature reached minus 56 degrees (minus 48 Celsius) in Cotton, Minnesota, on January 31, 2019. (7)

According to news reports, the temperatures in the Midwestern United States were colder than parts of the South Pole in Antarctica. (8) Classes at public schools were canceled, mail delivery was postponed, and more than a thousand flights into Chicago, Illinois, were canceled. (9) Here in Beaver Dam, many businesses closed early or did not open at all on January 30 and January 31, 2019. It is truly astonishing how cold it was, and it demonstrates how easily the world is disrupted by extreme weather. This chilling ordeal calls to mind the Scriptures we find in Psalm 147:16-17, which tells us, "He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes. He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?" All it takes is a little cold air from God and the world comes to a standstill.

Even as much of the United States suffered from frigid, life-threatening cold, Australia was sweltering under intense heat. January 2019 was Australia's hottest month on record. According to a representative from Australia's Bureau of Meteorology, the scorching temperatures in Australia are unprecedented."We saw heat-wave conditions affect large parts of the country through most of the month, with records broken for both duration and also individual daily extremes," stated climatologist Andrew Watkins. (10) In the state of New South Wales, roads melted under the stress of the heat and thousands of dead bats fell from the trees. (11) In the state of Victoria, more than 2,000 flying foxes died under the strain of the excessive heat. (12) Meanwhile, much of Tasmania has suffered from bushfires, which were ignited by lightning strikes. As of February 1, 2019, about 187,000 hectares, which is the equivalent of 722 square miles, have been destroyed by the fires. "This is definitely a historic event, it's unprecedented," declared University of Tasmania Professor David Bowman. He further went on to say, "The area burnt is very substantial. I can barely keep up with the numbers." (13) February 2019 also brought major monsoonal flooding to the city of Townsville in Queensland. Thousands of people were forced to evacuate due to the flooding which was called a "once in a 100-year" event. (14)

Back in the United States, bizarre weather events continue to happen, including an unusual series of winter storms that dumped snow on the state of California. In the city of Redding, more snow fell in mid-February over a 12-hour period than the city of Boston, Massachusetts has received throughout the entire winter. After 10-13 inches of snow fell in Redding, climate scientist Daniel Swain from the University of California-Los Angeles was quoted as saying, "I believe the scientific term for the statistic is 'bonkers.'" (15)

As unusual weather events continue to occur, I am sometimes asked by readers if the weather is being manipulated. While it is difficult to say to what extent, yes, weather certainly is being altered by man. This fact was admitted in a May 2018 report in Forbes Magazine. According to the report, China launched the world's largest weather-altering machine last year. The equipment is said to be capable of altering weather conditions in an area the size of the American state of Alaska, with the ultimate goal of inducing rainfall. (16) It is doubtful that the Chinese government is the only entity working on such projects. However, whatever man may try to do, it is ultimately God who is in control, and He has the final say in what weather will or will not do.

Are Microchips About To Go Mainstream?

Chances are if you have read this newsletter before, you have heard about implantable microchips for humans. Numerous stories regarding their development and implementation have surfaced over the last two years, and I have covered the topic on multiple occasions before. However, it may come as a surprise to some to learn that implantable radio-frequency identification chips, which are usually known by the acronym RFID, have existed for more than twenty years.

In the summer of 1998, a British scientist by the name of Kevin Warwick became the first human to be implanted with an RFID chip. Obviously enthralled by this new technology, Professor Warwick said at the time, "The potential for this technology is enormous. It is quite possible for an implant to replace an Access or Visa card. There is very little danger in losing an implant or having it stolen." (17) Notice how from the very beginning the RFID microchip was presented as a new and superior way to conduct monetary transactions. Of course, Professor Warwick was quick to point out that such a chip would have numerous other uses as well. "An implant could carry huge amounts of data on an individual, such as national insurance number and blood type, with this data being updated and added to where necessary. It could contain information on any medical problems, qualifications, prior convictions and even speeding fines. It would be difficult to lie or cover up such information," he said. (18)

A short time after the RFID microchip came into existence, a company then known as the Digital Angel Corporation, a subsidiary of Applied Digital Solutions, began work on a new product they called VeriChip. Promoted as an efficient new method to track medical records, this implantable microchip was approved for use in humans by the Food and Drug Administration, or FDA, in October 2004. (19) In an approval letter sent to Digital Angel, the FDA wrote, "The VeriChip is indicated for use as a miniature, implantable microchip that is inserted into the subcutaneous tissue of the patient. The VeriChip provides the patient a unique identification number that may be used to access a database containing the patient's identity and health information." (20)

News reports surfaced in July 2004 indicating that the Attorney General in Mexico and some of his staff members had received VeriChip implants. (21) In the years following, however, the VeriChip struggled to gain acceptance, and by July 2010, the product, which had been known as the VeriChip or the VeriMed System, was discontinued. (22)

Although there was reluctance by men and women to receive an implantable microchip in previous years, the attitudes of people today are changing. News stories are even giving chip implants positive press coverage, and in January 2019, Fortune Magazine published a headline asking its readers, "Is 'Biochipping' A Good Idea?"Much of the story focuses on a man named Jowan Osterlund who operates a company in Sweden known as Biohax. According to the article, Osterlund believes millions of people will soon want microchip implants and told the journalist writing the story that he gets requests for more information from people "on every continent except Antarctica." (23) "Tech will move into the body. I am sure of that," Osterlund, who has chipped 4,000 people, said. (24)

In November 2018, Biohax signed a partnership with a company known as Verisec that will enable chip users to make electronic payments on a much broader scale. Osterlund has also partnered with 100 doctors and nurses to implant microchips. Large companies have approached Biohax with interest in chip technology, including representatives from Japan who are working on the Tokyo Olympics committee for the 2020 Summer Olympics. (25) There is also Three Square Market, a company in River Falls, Wisconsin, that has now chipped 673 people in the United States including 85 of its employees. (26) Without a doubt, the implantable microchip is closer to mass acceptance than it ever has been before. Many who have received the chip already claim that they love having one. "I used to lose my keys all the time. Now I unlock the door to my house with my hand," said a man from Sweden.

As this technology develops, it will become increasingly invasive. This fact was admitted by the aforementioned Professor Warwick back at the beginning in 1998. "Individuals with implants could be clocked in and out of their business automatically. But all this smacks of Big Brother. An individual might not even be able to visit the toilet without a machine knowing about it,"Professor Warwick warned. (27) I believe this technology is the infrastructure of a global antichrist system that will one day be necessary to buy, sell, or conduct business. This technology exists today, and people are already lining up to get it voluntarily. As God's people, we must continue to watch and pray. This world is changing in astonishing ways.
More Secrets Of The Catholic Church Revealed

In 2018 there were many stories on the news detailing the widespread abuse perpetrated by priests and officials within the Catholic Church. These stories came at a regular pace for much of last year, revealing the horrifying details of what went on behind closed doors at Catholic facilities around the world. For a while, these stories died down, but in recent months, more shocking details have emerged.

In February 2019, the Vatican officially defrocked Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, who had been accused of abusing adults and children in a sexual manner. A decree issued on January 11, 2019, found McCarrick guilty of "solicitation in the sacrament of confession, and sins against the Sixth Commandment with minors and adults, with the aggravating factor of abuse of power." (28) It should be noted that McCarrick's abuse was against other males.

Recent days also brought a startling admission from Pope Francis, who admitted that Catholic nuns had been abused in unspeakable ways. In some cases, the abuse was so bad that Francis' predecessor, Pope Benedict XVI, was forced to dissolve an entire Catholic order in France."There are some priests and also bishops who have done it," Francis said. He further went on to say, "It's a path that we've been on. Pope Benedict had the courage to dissolve a female congregation which was at a certain level, because this slavery of women entered it - slavery, even to the point of sexual slavery - on the part of clerics or the founder." (29) The February issue of a magazine published by the Vatican known as Women's Church World exposed even more details. "If the church continues to close its eyes to the scandal - made even worse by the fact that abuse of women brings about procreation and is therefore at the origin of forced abortions and children who aren't recognized by priests - the condition of oppression of women in the church will never change," wrote magazine editor Lucetta Scaraffia. (30) Another interesting detail was brought out by USA Today on February 20, 2019. In this article, it is so common for Catholic priests to have children despite their oath of celibacy that the Vatican has official guidelines on how the process should be handled. "It's the next scandal. There are kids everywhere," claimed an Irish man who learned in his late twenties that his father is a priest. (31)

Clearly, there are many hidden secrets within the Catholic Church. We are starting to see some of these secrets come to light, and it is shocking just how widespread the abuse has been. Oddly enough, the Associated Press reported on February 20, 2019, that Pope Francis said: "We are all sinners, some big." However, the Pope also claimed that those "accusing" the church are linked to the devil. (32) However, it is never wrong to expose evil. Those who desire their evil deeds to remain secret are in darkness according to the Scriptures. John 3:19 tells us,"And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil."

In closing, we truly live in an amazing period of time. We continue to watch in amazement as the events of our day unfold. With each passing day, we know we are ever closer to the return of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. For as it tells us in Romans 13:11, "And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed."

Thank you all for your kind support of this ministry. Please remember to send us your prayer requests if you need prayer. Grace and peace be unto you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
