Why is Halloween on October 31st? Dr. Eric Walsh traces the holiday from the Celtic night of Samhain, when pagans
believed the veil between the living and the dead grew thin, to the popes who moved All Saints Day to line up with it.
He then asks what that history means for Christians who celebrate it today.
Dr. Walsh is a physician and preacher who returns to LED to compare Halloween's history with what the Bible says
about the dead. He, Scotty and Keith follow the same ideas into Hollywood, from Fantasia and I Dream of Jeannie to
Coco, Lucifer and Sinners. Near the end, Dr. Walsh walks through research on how scary movies affect children,
including G and PG films. The episode closes on the only knock at the door worth answering (Revelation 3:20).
