Police in Luweero have today arrested more Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) church members who teach their followers to eat uncooked food.

These members of the cult have been arrested today in Busula village, Luweero district. Police accuses them of misguiding their followers and holding illegal assembly.

The development comes after the Chief Magistrate of Nakaseke court, Fred Gidudu recently found 25 of the cult leaders guilty of misguiding people. The magistrate imprisoned the cult leaders for 20 months.

The suspects waiting for trial are detained at Wobulenzi police station, in Luweero.

The suspects teach that it is unhealthy to eat cooked food.

The group wants its followers to eat raw eggs, cassava tubers, sweet potato, onions, bananas, maize, greens, Irish potatoes and meat among others.
